SPEAKER_03

Let me just say this. Um, you are not hiring a bartender. You're hiring a vibe. So, what cocktail are we making?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, what are we making today?

SPEAKER_03

I got a message that said, can we do this? And I'm like, absolutely, we can do this. However, I also said we're gonna do this with a twist. The twist is I will not be making your drinks today. You will be making your drinks today, and you're gonna make your espresso martini. Ooh! But it is martini. Espresso martini. Oh, it sucks.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to From Like. Welcome to the From the Five. Hello, and welcome back to From My View Podcast. I am your host, Madison Keller, and I'm Michelle Dal Vigetti.

SPEAKER_01

And we are excited for our guest today. So, and we're excited not just because she brought us some fun uh gifts, but because she's from an exciting job. This is Tara. She's from Barcode Mobile Bartending.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

So welcome, Tara.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you guys for having me. Yeah, thanks so much.

SPEAKER_01

So um, so let's let's let's dive in really quick and ask you a few questions first. Okay. Before we we um we talk about what's on the table. Um let's get it started. Yeah, let's get it started. So um, so thanks. You look amazing.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, you know, I I I've been meaning to tell people, you're gonna be in a wet red chair, so don't wear red.

SPEAKER_03

Right, okay. So I posted.

SPEAKER_01

Really? But you know, you look like you're meant to be in that chair. Look at the shoes match. Gosh, you know what? I and every single time, every single time somebody says that chair, I'm like, gosh, I should remember that.

SPEAKER_02

That I have got to tell you. Do you tell people that in the email?

SPEAKER_01

In the very, very beginning I did. Oh, okay. When we started having the red chair, and then and then it just kind of worked out. Okay. So now, you know, what watch next time next time someone's gonna have a red. So now I gotta remember, but you just work, it's perfect. It's like it's just it's just perfect. So into place. Yeah, exactly. So okay, so this this is the question that I always ask everybody.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So how long have first of all, how long have you had your mobile bartending business?

SPEAKER_03

So I started in 2021 on paper, 2022.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_03

So um before I always call it BC and AC. So before COVID, okay, I did in-home wine tasting for a company and we would same same concept. You would throw a wine tasting, you would buy the wine, I would come pour it and tell you all about it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's cool. Whoa. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

COVID hit, we can't go into homes anymore. So we started doing them virtually, but then that kind of fell off a little bit, and people stopped drinking wine. They're like, we need to kick this up a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, wait a minute. They redo you were doing it virtually, like virtually.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. At the best times on Zoom. On Zoom. On Zoom. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

So they would buy their own wine, yes, and then you would get on Zoom, yes, and you would tell them what they're drinking.

SPEAKER_03

I would guide them through what they were drinking.

SPEAKER_01

That's so wow.

SPEAKER_03

And I was like, why didn't we do this before? Because instead of one person buying the kit, five people had to buy the kit.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's so you would you would sell the kit?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's cool.

SPEAKER_03

Six bottles of wine to the host. Yeah. We would taste all six. That's your party. So now during COVID, on Zoom, five people had to buy six bottles of wine to go through this.

SPEAKER_02

Because they couldn't have their party anymore.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. So how would you sell that?

SPEAKER_03

So it was through the company, um, and they had different packages that you could buy similar to how I modeled my business.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's really cool. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

Really fun. Super fun time.

SPEAKER_01

So then when did you decide I want to be a mobile bartender?

SPEAKER_03

It was also during that time when the the virtual parties kind of slowed down.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, and people were like, Yeah, you know, you know, I don't really want wine anymore. And now we are able to go back into homes and people are more inviting now, and they're like, Can you can you make a martini instead of wine? Absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. I can. Yeah. I can make whatever you want. So that's how it, that's how it started.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So 2020 2022 on paper came up with the name, came up with the logo, and here we are.

SPEAKER_02

Whoa. Yeah, that's really cool. I mean, that does make sense because with a big group of people, having everyone be like, wine is my go-to, you don't really get a lot of that. You might get a few wine drinkers and then, you know, other ones that prefer beer or hard alcohol. So that is a really good idea. Whoa, that's pretty cool. I like that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it does make a lot of sense.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I've I've heard of mobile bartenders, but usually that's like in like big cities and stuff. And I mean, it they're not real popular. So um so how do you um how do you promote your business?

SPEAKER_03

Um, it is mostly word of mouth. Um when I am at a party, someone's someone's always asking, how does this work? What do how do you do this? Do you go to this city? Do you go to that city? All yeses. Yes, yes, yes, yes, I do. Yes, I will. So mostly parties. Someone there will invite me into their home to do their party, and then it'll snowball from there.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Referrals.

SPEAKER_01

So walk us through. So so so I wanna I wanna have a party.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So you want to have a party? We will have a conversation about this party. What type of party is it? Is it a a wedding? Is it a dinner? Is it a my friends are just coming over? I've I've done a backyard pool party. It was just a few girls hanging out and they just didn't want to get out the pool. No problem. Let's go. That's she's I don't want to get out of the pool. That's a great idea. Right. That's a great idea. Okay, but you're over there. I now need to get in and walk to you to give you your margarita. Didn't have to, but I want to be in the pool too.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So it it we're gonna talk about what type of party. We're going to talk about what type of crowd you have. So are we doing just beer and wine? Are we doing spirits? Are we doing mixed drinks? Um, you're gonna curate your own menu.

SPEAKER_02

That makes sense. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So once we decide on that, how many people do you expect? Once we decide on that, I will send you a detailed grocery list of what to go and get. So in California, I cannot sell alcohol, I cannot provide alcohol. So if I bring alcohol, I can't sell it. So I couldn't charge you for your party. So you buy the alcohol, I will bring everything else, including the bar, including cups, napkins, straws, mixers, um, garnishes, and any other cutesy little thing that that you want to add. So now we have our party, we have our menu, we have our guest count, and now you have your bartender. I show up, I set up, people walk in, they're like, there's a whole bar here. Yep, there's a whole bar with a bartender.

SPEAKER_01

So that's so cool. That's fantastic. So I noticed that you somehow you have a um an assistant that comes with you. Yes. When do you decide that you can't handle it yourself and you need an assistant?

SPEAKER_03

Um, I usually, if it is going to be more than 50 people, then I will ask.

SPEAKER_01

50, okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. And then, you know, with the assistant that you uh that you see, that is actually my family member.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So yes. So um I, you know, I want her to be a part of of my business. I want my entire family to be a part of my business.

SPEAKER_01

I love that's great of my business. So Yeah, that's fantastic. That's what you see there too. That's good. So what so I was gonna ask you. Uh sorry, I keep interested. I'm I get so excited. I know you do. Go ahead. No, you can I get so excited.

SPEAKER_03

All right.

SPEAKER_01

So were you a bartender before? No.

SPEAKER_03

Not not officially. I've always been like the family bartender or you know, the one that makes the drinks or comes up with, okay, tonight you guys, we're gonna have this cocktail and I brought this stuff, and not officially. I've never, it's always been private, which I prefer.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Because I get to be more creative that way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, that's cool. Yeah, I was I was wondering about that. I'm not sure. Like, what like a fun job. Out of all of the events you've done, what is like your favorite type of event to do?

SPEAKER_03

I love like family gatherings. I love like the backyard family, because they always want to feed you. Oh yep, they're like, hey, come and eat. Oh my goodness, did you did you see the gift table over there? Make sure you grab a gift, make sure you do this and do that. And so now it's like your nana is now my nana. And I love family. Family is like the most important thing to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's so cool. That's great. Now does your husband come and help too? He does. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But he he will. He will come and help. Um, especially if it's going to be like a huge, huge um event. So I did a class reunion and I absolutely needed his help to set up um because I had to set up two bars. I can't work two bars at at once, but I needed that that muscle. I needed somebody to run and get more bottles and run and grab this and do this and do that. So he absolutely he he helped me that day. That's great. That was his first day and his last because he quit. Well, he was like, I don't know how you do this. This is too much. Yeah, yeah. But he did, he came back. I I got him to come back to a few more.

SPEAKER_01

So oh fun. What's so cool? What's your most effective marketing strategy?

SPEAKER_03

It is honestly, Michelle, it is word of mouth. I yeah, it's word of mouth. I am not consistent on social media. Um, I have the ideas that I have are all over the place. I'll wake up one day and I will promote my business. And the next day I'm talking about the Kings games and how I did my eyebrows. I it's just but it all works.

SPEAKER_01

It all works.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So well, sometimes on social media they need to know that. They need to know that you're a real person. Exactly. You know, it's not all about your business. They need to know that you go you go to the King's game and that you know that you that you do your eyebrows and that you you know you have uh other interests. Right. So yeah, no, it's it's a little chilly in here.

SPEAKER_02

I know. Did you turn on uh it's only 73 though? Did it feel so because we were burdened up at 80 degrees in the room.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_02

So I can change it if you want me to.

SPEAKER_01

How do you manage your work life balance?

SPEAKER_03

Um, it's just very easy. Yeah. I'm uh I don't want to say every day is different for me.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So some days you'll talk to me, you'll think I'm retired because I'm I don't have anything going on. And then other days you'll talk to me, and it's like, oh my gosh, how are you doing? You have two parties today. How are you doing all of this and going here and going there and picking this up and doing that? So um, every day is different. Every day, which is and it's it's a natural flow, you know. So I know when parties come up, I have to prep the night before, prep what I can the night before, and then get ready for that for that event.

SPEAKER_01

So on average, how many parties do you have in a month?

SPEAKER_03

Uh well based on last year, um, over the entire year, I'll say uh two to three, four.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Okay. In that range. Yeah, that keeps you busy. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yes, yeah. So one to two, but you know, May last year was bananas. It's already booked out this this year. Yeah. So graduations, weddings, oh shirt. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, that's great. You were also um flying to Florida. You had some events, you know.

SPEAKER_03

I did. Wow. I came to Florida. Um, it was a birthday party, family, uh-huh. But I was hired as as the bartender. Let me let me just say this. Um, you are not hiring a bartender, you're hiring a vibe. Okay? So, yes, I do have it. It's barcode mobile entertainment. So under that, I have barcode mobile bartending as well as barcode 360, which is the photo booth. So you're you're hiring a vibe, not just a bartender. Yeah. Yeah. Something that we can do, absolutely, but it's a vibe. I bring the whole party.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That is, yeah, I would agree with you 100%. Yeah. Because especially, I mean, with drinking, it is it's involved in a lot of parties. That's like the main kind of where things kick off, and then that's where, like, oh, people are gonna start dancing now. And you want to have a fun bartender. Exactly. It's like if you don't, it's kind of, you know, a little bit off.

SPEAKER_01

So I I and you want to have a bartender. I mean, you know, I've been to so many parties where they just have like the bottles of boozers on the on the counter, and like, and they're like, just make up your own drink. And you're like, well, I feel a little awkward pouring my own drink, and this is your bottle, and it's I you just don't feel comfortable.

SPEAKER_03

And then it's probably gross. You've poured too much vodka. It's like you poured too much vodka, you put too much lemon, you put too much.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know, so yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And your guests are you're using, like you said, too much vodka. And they're wasting all your alcohol. Right. Yeah. So if you have a bartender, they're going to use just enough. Right.

SPEAKER_02

And it's gonna be a good drink, too. Like, that's why, like, even you said, like, you're the family bartender. Like, even growing up, there was always like a designated person, it was usually me, making someone like drinks. Right. Because they're like, okay, you made this really good drink. Can you just make me the same one? And I'm like, I just threw stuff in a cup.

SPEAKER_03

I I don't I don't know what I did.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I'll try to do the same, but it's usually you. It's usually me or Andy. Andy's usually the the backup.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true. Yeah, actually, she's right. She actually makes some he makes some really good drinks.

SPEAKER_03

So, how would how would it be if you could just party at your party?

SPEAKER_01

And that would be amazing. Uh yeah, exactly. It would be awesome. I know. Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

I think it'd be a great idea. It would be great. Well, talking talking about that, should we get into making the drinks? I'm excited. I know. I'm really excited. I know.

SPEAKER_00

Because this is also like one of my favorite cocktails, so I'm excited. It is. I mean, what cocktail are we making? Yeah, what are we making today?

SPEAKER_03

I got a message that said, can we do this? And I'm like, absolutely, we can do this. However, I also said we're gonna do this with a twist. Okay. The twist is I will not be making your drinks today. You will be making your drinks today. I will give you a little bit of direction, but you're gonna make your espresso martini. Ooh! Salted caramel. Espresso martini. Oh, it sucks. Okay. So I have brought salted caramel, Kahlua, the vodka. You can line your uh glass with caramel if you want, and then the uh espresso espresso cold brew.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Oh, I'm excited. Okay. So what do you do first?

SPEAKER_03

You can go ahead and pour your ice into the shaker. Okay. And there's more ice down here. No. These aren't?

SPEAKER_01

No, we don't know. Wait, it feels like it feels like it's glass. Okay, okay. Well, I thought you maybe because it's cold. I was like, because you know me.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe because it's cold, it feels different. And if you want to add more ice, you can in your shaker. Oh probably add a little bit more.

SPEAKER_01

A little bit more? A little bit more ice. Is it not ice yet? Here. Do you have to screw that off? Oh, I thought it would just pop off. Thank you.

SPEAKER_03

So you have the wait.

SPEAKER_01

That's good. That's good? Okay. Okay. Alright. Oh, do we have to put it?

SPEAKER_03

There's nothing to put it in. You gotta put a stuff in here first. I gotta put a stuff in here first. Oh you really I don't know. That's funny. I thought I had to shake the ice first.

SPEAKER_02

Shake the ice. Oh.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So this is our espresso martini. One and a half to two ounces of vodka. How are you feeling?

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So is this two ounces? That side is two. This side is one. Okay. So you can do you can do the two ounces of vodka, but you have another liqueur that's going in the.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, I should probably just do.

SPEAKER_03

Do yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Do one and one? I'm gonna do this.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. However, however you like. What what are you feeling today?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I'm doing this.

SPEAKER_03

So you definitely want to see this is on tight. You want to hold the top of that so it doesn't.

SPEAKER_01

What's that? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So you kind of want to hold it here. Oh.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And pour it. There's a hole here. You don't want to cover that up because it won't come out. But you definitely want to hold on to the spout so it doesn't fall out and there's vodka everywhere because we don't waste vodka.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, we don't. No, we don't. Okay. Where's the hole? It's right here. This is gonna take a long time. I'm like 80. This is mine, yeah. Oh, it's coming up fast.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Did it?

SPEAKER_03

That's it. I don't have glasses.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have my glasses on.

SPEAKER_02

You probably should put your glasses on.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see. Okay. If I can see this.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe I should probably put my glasses on.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And then the spout for this one was a little wag wobbly, so we're not gonna do that. We're not gonna worry about that. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I just put a little. Is this how am I?

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna do so. It's one and a half ounce of vodka, one ounce of Kahlua, one ounce of cold. Perfect. Well, I'm gonna put this in. Oh, that's pretty. So the fun thing with bartending, um, you do want your ingredients to kind of stay with the recipe, but it's just like cooking. You if you want more vodka, add a little more vodka. Just don't add an entire cup full of vodka.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that makes sense. Right? You said one ounce of this?

SPEAKER_03

One ounce of cold brew, but since you only did an ounce of vodka, you may need to add a little more cold brew just so it fills your glass up.

SPEAKER_01

That's perfect.

SPEAKER_02

Watching you do this is hilarious. I'm not a bartender, okay? Ooh, and then the cold brew. Oh, I like this one too. Can you have me a couple little tissues over there?

SPEAKER_01

I don't think there's any left. Never mind. Here, grab me your sweater. You like this? I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Was that it? That is it. Okay. Okay, that's it.

SPEAKER_03

There are different variations. Um, some people add cream, um, some people add a little bit of simple syrup, which is just sugar water. Okay. However, we're gonna line our cups with caramel, so we don't need that simple. We don't need simple syrup. If you want it a little less sweet, don't put a lot of caramel in your in your glass. So just kind of twirl it around. Go ahead. Don't be scared. Why? Don't be scared. Don't be scared. It's like you're making like a coffee. There you go.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Perfect.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh. This looks so good. Oh wow. Okay. Let's see. Oh my gosh, I'm scared. I'm gonna spill this all over the rug. I'm kidding. Don't do it.

SPEAKER_03

And so you want to tap lightly on the top just to make sure it's stuck in there. And then and definitely hold both cuts. This is a lot harder.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. Oh baby, perform it. And then do I put it on? Start on or like tilt it. I thought that's right.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, on the floor. Oh, I have to do that.

SPEAKER_02

There we go. This is gonna be delicious.

SPEAKER_03

And then you didn't get a lot of foam, so your beans aren't gonna sit too, too. So, but that's okay. It is totally fine. This is your drink, and that's the part I love about bartending. Everybody's drink is gonna be a little different, okay?

SPEAKER_01

Should I pull more? Oh, oh, because I didn't shake it like enough.

SPEAKER_02

Other side, flip it over there.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we don't even have to use these. I know, I've never seen it. Andy always does this stuff.

SPEAKER_02

I'm all oh, mine's not that much. And it you know what?

SPEAKER_03

It could be this hybrid as well. It listen, all to the good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yours. There's your phone. Gary, put a bean on there.

SPEAKER_03

And then we have uh some espresso beans. Oh, she doesn't.

SPEAKER_01

You don't like espresso beans, do you? Yeah, I do. Oh, your sister doesn't like them. Oh, put them on. Put them on. Well, mine stick.

SPEAKER_03

You can add one. You can add two.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

There. How many ever you like?

SPEAKER_01

Ooh.

SPEAKER_03

Three. One, two, three.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, see, mine are not gonna stick.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna have to wipe your face off.

SPEAKER_01

Mine stayed! Stop. Take a picture of that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Take a picture of that. Have to do three, so it's lucky.

SPEAKER_01

Like it. Mine doesn't have. I don't have it.

SPEAKER_02

Yours looks ugly.

SPEAKER_01

Just kidding. That's so rude.

SPEAKER_02

Aww. Okay. So cheers. Here, I'll take a look.

SPEAKER_01

Cheers. I made my very first espresso.

SPEAKER_03

Espresso martini. Salted caramel.

SPEAKER_01

Salted caramel. Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Perfect. Oh, let's try it.

SPEAKER_01

Get me drinking it. I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see. Ooh, that looks pretty on the side. Let's see.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, it's so good.

SPEAKER_03

And a lot of people when they drink martinis, they want the glass full. You don't need your glass full. Make another one later. Do you think they always rinse?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it did it all the way to the top.

SPEAKER_03

It's one ounce here, one ounce there.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, this is yummy. You want to try mine?

SPEAKER_01

No, it's probably tastes like mine.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm sure. Wait, did you do the did you do two this the two ounces? You did it just like mine? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

This is good. The one and the one. Gosh, that's so good. I like the caramel. You can really taste it. That's just so good. So there it is.

SPEAKER_01

Now, do you come up with your own drink sometimes?

SPEAKER_03

There are times I will, but I love to put a spin on classics, you know? Um my my tagline is why be ordinary when you can be fancy? My aunt would say that um to us all the time. Why be ordinary when you can be fancy? So let's take a classic cocktail and let's just do it a little different. So salted caramel, it is. Yes, I love that.

SPEAKER_02

I like that. What's um out of all the cocktails that you make at all parties, what's like the most popular ones?

SPEAKER_03

We keep it simple. When it's parties, margaritas, yeah, I was gonna say margaritas, I bet. But you know, two ingredients, one one spirit, one mixer. Yeah. Um, because it it needs to go, it needs to move fast.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because they just want to get a drink and they want to go and buy see what she makes.

SPEAKER_03

So, but if if someone wants, you know, a more uh detailed cocktail, I'll batch it. Meaning I will put together the mix and then that way it's still kind of like a two ingredient. So I just already have everything mixed up. I just have to add the spirit, shake it, and go.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay. I've heard of some um some bars do that because Andy before he did real estate, he worked at High Hand like brewery. Okay, they did cocktails too. And he started when they first opened, so he actually invented a lot of the cocktails. So he it I feel like when he saw this, he's all this is sick. Because he he he will always have a heart for bartending.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely, yeah, yeah. It's such a cool gig. It's like so fun. I get paid to party.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if you weren't doing this, what would you be doing?

SPEAKER_03

So I am a trainer by trade. So my corporate life was all training, new hire training, system training, some form of teaching something.

SPEAKER_01

So you'd be doing that.

SPEAKER_03

I would be doing that.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. Okay. So you do you see, I mean, so I mean you're obviously very successful at this. So uh you do you see yourself doing this for a long time?

SPEAKER_03

I am so glad you asked that. Yes, I do. Yes, okay, good. This is this is it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and you just I mean, yeah, you're perfect at it.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, this is something that I you know, you just you have things that you love to do, yeah, and things that you have to do. I get to do this. Yeah, you know, I have a supportive family, I get to I get to have get paid to party. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's so cool. Well, if you ever need any help, yes, I would love to. Not obviously not with your skills, with you making that. I don't know about that one. Here's I don't know about that. I would just be like the I would just be in the back. I would just talk to people and I could clean up and stuff and like move stuff around.

SPEAKER_03

That is such an important piece. Yes. As you can see, the bottles are sticky and that's important. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

I would help clean. I would just do that kind of stuff. I mean, as far as like mixing drinks, I don't think I'm good at that. Okay. Doing your job for you. I yeah, I know. Like, but I would but really, if you needed help, okay, I I would help you.

SPEAKER_03

I've got your number.

SPEAKER_01

I know you do. There you go. So I mean, I would I mean, I love that kind of stuff. I love you know hanging out with people. It's just fun. Like, who wouldn't like doing this? It's just fun.

SPEAKER_03

My favorite is talking to people. Oh, I do. I love to talk and chill and get to know people. Get to know people because everybody, everybody's at the bar.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You know. So what else do you do like besides this? What do you do in your in your private life? I know you like to, I like I know you like to go to King's Games.

SPEAKER_03

I was gonna say, I'm a big Kings fan, so yes, I am at the Kings Games a lot. Um uh, like I said, there's no typical day for me. So I guess at some days you'll see me and you're like, uh, are you retired? Yeah. Because what what are we doing today?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then there's other days where I'm like, I'm here, I'm there. Didn't I just see you over here at this store? Now you're at this store, now you're here, you're there. So You're all over the place. All over.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Did you go to the Kings and Lakers game? Did you go to that one? Oh, I really wanted to go to that game. I heard it was really good. Saturday night. Yeah. I did watch it. Did you?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we were there last night.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

So Oh, that'd be fun. Yeah. There were so many Knicks fans there. And I've got to tell everybody, like the opposing team. So when we're walking in, I'm like, oh, they canceled the game. Don't worry about it. They canceled it. You can go back to your they canceled it. And so uh my seat mates and I, we all, you know, everybody's the same sitting there, and there was like a couple of Knicks fans in season ticket holder seats, and we're like, oh, oh, we're gonna get you for that. You don't sell to the opposing team. They do really. I didn't even know that was a thing. No, you can sell your tickets. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Because people like buy like, you know, season tickets for like the whole, you know, whole seasonal. But then they don't, they can't go to that game. They can't go to like every single game. So they're gonna sell our two. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or they make money.

SPEAKER_01

So we had years, years ago when I was pregnant with with Madison, um, I was working for a company that had season tickets. Oh, nice. And um, and we gotta I gotta go to um to games, and I was big pregnant when I was pregnant with her. And um, yeah, it it was it was a lot of fun. But ever I was thinking, gosh, I wonder if I it would affect her be uh because it was loud, and this is when they were doing really well, you know. Back back in the day was um Chris Weber was you know in this. That super cool name that's Bobby Jackson.

SPEAKER_02

And then super cool name. There we go. I love that name. I always hear it. What's that? I don't know. Vladi. Vladdy D.

SPEAKER_01

Bach was on the yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So let's see, did it affect you?

SPEAKER_02

Well, now I love sports games. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, yeah. And I was up there just yelling.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but now I love games. Like I'm also a 49ers fan. Okay, even though dad's a Raiders fan, I know that's just I know. I get it from my dad all the time too, but I just love going to games. I will I was at a soccer game. I just love like the environment, it's just so fun. Yes, yeah. Maybe that's maybe that's why now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, we did. We went to I went to a lot of games, not so much anymore.

SPEAKER_02

You don't like the environment, I don't think, anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would I mean I would go to I would go to a basketball game. I like that. I like hockey games.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. I've never been to a hockey game.

SPEAKER_01

Neither have I. Yes, it's so fun. It's fun, especially when they get in fights. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

But I don't want to see like the teeth flying and I don't want to see. Oh, you won't see them. You won't see them.

SPEAKER_01

They're too far away. I mean, typically, you know, because you I mean they're you know but they'll have they have missing teeth though. Most of them do. Most of them do.

SPEAKER_02

And they wear what are those things called? The like their actual they take out their like the veneer. They all have bridges.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, a bridge. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they take that out for the game because they because they must all own.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, those are expensive. Yeah, put this in a locker room. I can't. And you're like, couch, can you put this up for yeah?

SPEAKER_02

Because you don't have to wear their like their guard, right? Yeah. So my why would you put that on so it makes sense? That's so funny. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

My husband's a huge fan of he's we have a lot of sports memorabilia in our house.

SPEAKER_03

Right, nice, lots.

SPEAKER_01

Lots of sports memorabilia. I love it. So yeah. So anyway. So um I've got some how are we doing on time? I've got I've got some more questions. Oh, we gotta wrap up. Okay. So I've got some um so when you're boarding a plane, are you window or aisle?

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna say it depends. If I'm traveling solo, window. And it has to be the left side of the plane. Because usually I'll have my hair up and I like to go to sleep. So I like to lean on the window. Oh yeah. It has to be the left side of the plane. So, yep. And I usually Okay. Oh my gosh, I'm gonna show the world how crazy I am. I have to sit in between 12 and 22.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So my seat is gonna be whatever that is, between 12 and 22 F. Because I have to sit on the left side of the plane.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh. Okay. On the left side? You mean the left side when you're walking in? Like I'm trying to figure out what the left is.

SPEAKER_03

Uh when you're walking towards the pilot.

SPEAKER_01

So sitting from the left. Okay, so I have to sit left too. I'm left too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And I have to sit um behind the wing.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. And most of the time I end up on I sit on the wing. Most of the time. The seat I choose, I'm like, gosh, I made it on the wing again.

SPEAKER_01

I'm usually right behind the wing. Okay. I don't know why. I just I prefer that. I don't it's maybe private.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Just work with it. Whatever. Whatever.

SPEAKER_03

I'm traveling with my husband. I'll I'll take the middle, and he'll usually take the aisle, but I like to lean on him. So I I don't if I'm traveling with him, I don't mind the middle.

SPEAKER_01

My husband goes aisle.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And I usually go window.

SPEAKER_02

Because he he he's like And then they'll have someone random in the middle.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. It's like, hey, can you pass me those chips over there? I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

I you know, he goes center and I go window. That's what it is. No, that's what it is. I'm sorry. I totally do.

SPEAKER_02

Because I'm usually middle. Because if I'm traveling with you, it's usually with like London and Chris and Andy. So well, there's like a lot of us, and I always take metal. I rarely get, I hate the window. I can't stand the window. I'm like blocked in.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, ugh, I love the window. I like to look out. I like to see the mountains and the clouds if we're up high and roll. I'm just like, this is this is crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I like the I like for picture reasons when you see that the the wing. It's for for photos. I don't know why. It's just a it's a weird thing I have. I love it. I like it. So um what does success look like for you now and how has it changed over time?

SPEAKER_03

So I used to think like, oh, I gotta make all of this money. I need to book parties and have a party every day. That that will come. Success to me now is if you're a repeat customer.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's good.

SPEAKER_03

That because I'm always like, oh my gosh, did they like this? Did they like me? Um I always think like that. So when you call me back, I'm like, oh you did. You liked it, yeah, I did. So the money's gonna come, the parties are gonna come, but those repeat clients make me feel super, super successful.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, I love that. I like that a lot. I love that.

SPEAKER_02

That that that's it's because that's in so many industries too, though, when you think about it. Like that repeat customer, if they come back, they like what you did.

SPEAKER_03

It's about trust. I'm trusting you with my with my family. Yeah, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, that's good.

SPEAKER_01

That's good. So if your child wanted to carry on your business, what would you do? Would would that be okay?

SPEAKER_03

Yes. And I want him to come and do it now. Every time I have any bit, I'm like, what are you doing? Can you come help? He's like, Oh, I'm busy today. No, you're not. You're not. So, yes, absolutely. Okay, absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, good, good. I'm really proud of you. I love your business. I think this is phenomenal. I appreciate it. I appreciate you coming onto our podcast. Thank you for that. Like, yeah, you've never made an espresso martini. I've never made one. No, that's sick, and we haven't had anyone bring something like this. The only other person was Phil with his coffee, but he made it for us, remember? Yeah, yeah. So we've never done anything hands-on, so I really appreciate that. Thank you so much for everything.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you. Thank you all for having me on.

SPEAKER_02

Of course, yeah, of course. Till next time, thank you. I didn't know what to say. I kind of zoned off on that one. Did you zone off?

SPEAKER_03
