The Heart of Collaborative EMDR: How Two Consultants Facilitate Healing Together
How Do Dani And Ally Define “Collaborative Consultation” In Real Life?
Ever felt like professional consultation was just another clinical box to check? Dani and Ally are turning that notion on its head with their fresh, relationship-centered approach to EMDR consultation.
Their journey began with a chance meeting and a walk to Starbucks in Seattle, where they discovered an instant connection that would evolve into a powerful professional partnership. Now, they're bringing that same spirit of authentic connection to EMDR therapists across the globe through their collaborative consultation model.
What sets them apart? For starters, they work as a dynamic duo, offering clinicians the rare opportunity to learn from two consultants simultaneously. Dani brings her "P" energy while Ally complements with her "J" perspective (in Myers-Briggs terms), creating a consultation experience that celebrates different approaches to EMDR therapy. This diversity helps clinicians develop flexibility and confidence in their clinical judgment, recognizing there's rarely just one "right way" to work with clients.
Their nine-month cohort model goes beyond skill-building to foster lasting relationships among participants. As they eloquently put it, "Trauma and EMDR therapy cannot be done in isolation and require the support of a community." By creating spaces where therapists can bring their vulnerabilities, questions, and unique strengths, Dani and Ally combat the professional isolation that so often leads to burnout.
Perhaps most refreshingly, they infuse joy into the learning process. "If it's not fun, I'm not doing it," Dani shares, embodying their philosophy that professional growth should be engaging and energizing, not just another obligation.
Ready to experience consultation that feels less like a clinical requirement and more like coming home to a supportive community? Visit online or call/text 254-230-4994 to discover if their collaborative approach might be the perfect fit for your EMDR journey.

Hey there. I'm Dani from Ontario, Canada, and I'm Allie from Texas.
Speaker 2:Welcome to EMDR with Dani and Allie, your go-to space for collaborative consultation that connects and grows, one clinician at a time. I'm your voice guide not Dani, not Allie here to introduce your hosts Dani in Ontario, canada, and Allie in Texas. Together, they train clinicians around the globe and offer EMDR therapy that's as supportive as a great pair of walking shoes Steady, reliable and just what you need to walk alongside your clients. Whether you're a seasoned therapist or just starting your EMDR journey, you're in the right place to connect, learn and grow without having to log thousands of miles. Let's get started.
Speaker 3:Consultation doesn't have to feel clinical or transactional. Danny and Allie share how they've redefined it as a collaborative, heart-centered space for growth and connection. Welcome back everyone. I am Millie M, co-host and producer in the studio. Back with hosts of EMDR, with Danny and Allie. Welcome back everyone. I am Millie M, co-host and producer in the studio. Back with hosts of. Emdr with Dani and Allie.
Speaker 3:We've got Dani and Allie, how are you Good? Thank you, you look great. Always great to be with you both. Today's question is how do you all define collaborative consultation in real life?
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah, I love that question. So our vision for this work grew out of a shared belief in the power of relationships, both in healing and in sustaining the people who provide healing. Trauma and EMDR therapy cannot be done in isolation and require the support of a community.
Speaker 1:So when Dani and I actually met, we were on a meandering trip to Starbucks in Seattle and we were struck by the gift of that connection really instantly, and it's that same spirit of connection that we really want to offer other therapists, that we support.
Speaker 4:Yeah, so our consultation groups we currently offer in nine month cohorts and they're designed to help clinicians grow their skills, find guidance and build lasting relationships with one another that we hope will last long after the group has ended.
Speaker 1:So that collaborative consultation. It also comes through in our model of consultation for our commitment to that lifelong learning. Whether we're learning more about ourselves or how we show up as clinicians or working to develop a new skill, we know that we really want to continue to learn from each other.
Speaker 4:Yeah, during a group consultation with Danny and Allie, clinicians will have the unique learning opportunity of having two consultants in the room, providing a rich and dynamic experience to support them through their trickiest cases.
Speaker 1:We each bring years of passion and experience to our work, and the best part is that we approach our work differently. So it allows clinicians to learn that flexibility, to trust in their own clinical judgment and to recognize that no two stories or EMDR pathways are ever the same.
Speaker 3:So much variety with the clinicians and the clients and there's a lot going on. What makes your consultation style different than that of more traditional models?
Speaker 1:I think, the added relational component to it. When you look around in different consultation groups that are starting and happening, it's generally done by one consultant at a time. The team approach is really what sets us apart, I think, in the consultant world.
Speaker 4:Yeah, absolutely, and we hope to have some fun bringing our sort of our duo and our energy that we bring together to the group to just make it fun and creative as well.
Speaker 1:And Dani likes to joke and say that I'm her. I bring the J to her P in the Myers-Briggs test. We really value each of our differences. We each have strengths, we each have areas that we can. We just work together great as a team. And it makes it a lot more fun in the process to be able to come alongside other clinicians and mentor them together, because what she sees I may see differently. So we can bring multiple approaches to clinicians and they don't have to feel stuck in thinking there's only this one way to do it. That's the fun thing with EMDR it's there's so much creativity that you can pour into it.
Speaker 3:Absolutely. If it's not fun, I'm not doing it.
Speaker 3:So, we got to have some fun layered in there and it just sounds like you all have a great support system in each other, which I can only imagine makes those clinicians feel supported as well, and this idea of it not being one size fits all, that you can customize it to how you decide to do business. Like I said, there's just so many different people that you work with. How do you handle all the different personalities maybe some egos, people who might be nervous and say I'm a professional? I should know this. I'm scared to ask my questions. How?
Speaker 4:do you?
Speaker 3:handle all of that.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I mean, I think that a huge part of providing quality consultation is sort of working with us on how do we show up, and so that comes through in the consultation group. How do people, how do clinicians, support one another in the consultation and sort of how does that carry over into their work with clients? And there, yeah, you're right, there are so many different personalities in the room, and so I always like to ask people what are they hoping to get out of this experience? What are the most important things to them? Because it's going to be different for everyone.
Speaker 1:And we always. We like to start out in the very beginning, for everyone to get to know each other and to realize we're all bringing strengths, we're all bringing weaknesses to the table and to highlight on those and to really challenge all of us that we are always going to be growing in our weaknesses and then we also want to shine in our strengths for the whole group, because if we're not shining in our strength, then someone else may be missing out on what we can bring to the table.
Speaker 3:Bringing that spirit of lifelong learning is what I'm hearing. So what advice would you give to a new EMDR therapist looking for the right consultation support? Hire you right.
Speaker 4:Come to Tanya and Allie.
Speaker 1:I would say that they just schedule a time with us, meet us and see if we're the best fit for you, similar to what we do with our clients. We have those 15 minute consultations where we get to know our clients and we make sure that we're the right fit for them. Because, just like you're bringing when you're a client, you're bringing that vulnerability to the table as a consultant. It's the same thing You're bringing that vulnerability to the table. So it just depends whether they want to bring that vulnerability to the table to work with us or if someone else is a better fit for them.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's a beautiful answer. So you've got the phone number. You've got the website right there on the screen. Make sure you contact Danny and Allie to see if they're a right fit for you. Thank you both for sharing your heart and your process. That was such a refreshing take on consultation and we'll catch you on the next time.
Speaker 4:Thank, you, Millie. Thank you, hey there, I'm Dani from Ontario.
Speaker 1:Canada and I'm Ali from Texas.
Speaker 2:That wraps up another insightful episode of EMDR with Dani and Ali, where our slogan collaborative consultation that connects and grows, one clinician at a time isn't just catchy. It's our mission. Want more tools, training or just need to ask Danny or Allie a question? Visit DannyAndAlliecom or call or text 254-230-4994.
