SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome back to episode number two of season two of two average guys. Um, I wish I was starting this episode off with good news, but I'm not. The Phillies are on a six-game losing streak. They are playing horrible. Their offense is giving no run support, and their pitching doesn't look nearly as good as it does as it did last year. So yeah, no, that's really all I got. The Phillies are bad, man. Sawyer, take it away.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna go into like that. Our rookie is our our nine-hole is our best player right now, and it's just depressing to watch. Dude's actually batting great, like for a rookie, just got up 283 with a 377 OBP. So a little positive on the end. Had a guy who we were scared about, but he's good. Though everyone else is just disappointing. Odolis Garcia is barely batting above 200 right now, and I was praying he was gonna be at least okay. No, he sucks right now. It's so bad to watch him. Literally leading the team in nope. I sorry, Shorbert's leading the team in strikeouts like usual, but that's fair. The Shorbert's given us homers. Eh. Still only batting 213, but I don't know. What would it what do you think about Dolves right now?

SPEAKER_01

Just been pretty mid. Um I honestly, I think Cassianos looks better. I mean Padres. I think Cassianos actually doesn't look well. I wouldn't say he looks good, but he doesn't look terrible.

SPEAKER_02

Hold on, I'm pulling up Cassianos' stats just to I mean, like, I'm gonna go to let's can we okay after Adoles, let's finish with Adoles and Castellanos.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, Cassie's hitting a buck 63. Never mind, give me a dole.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, horrible.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't realize he was hitting that bad. I looked earlier, he was like 225, 230.

SPEAKER_02

Let's talk about Bohm.

SPEAKER_01

I'm telling you, bro, give me Sosa.

SPEAKER_02

133, dude. Like, this is horrible. Horrible. Like, where's what's Sosa's hitting? What's what's Sosa hitting right now? I mean 250. I mean, that's it's better than everyone else, if we're being honest.

SPEAKER_01

But think about it. Think about it. That's a guy, that's a guy that doesn't see pitching every single day. He comes in once every couple days to hit 250 coming off the bench where you're not seeing pitching. I mean, think about it how hard it is like for me and you, college kids, where we don't see pitching for a couple days. Oh back and seeing pitching after not seeing it for like a week, that's hard.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's impossible.

SPEAKER_01

These are the best pitchers in the world. He's taking a week off and coming back and facing Paul Skeens, Derek Scrubel. Like I mean, to hit 250 when you're not given a chance to like he's got 28 A Bs. Yeah, and Marshawn has more A Bs than he dubbed.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh, Marshawn, worst hitter. I like is he he's weighs one hit, one hit, one hit in 31 ABs.

SPEAKER_01

He's got two hits.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, he got two? Okay, he got one the other day, still pathetic. 65.

SPEAKER_01

I'll tell you what. I the other rookie, Felix Reyes.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I watched a little bit of him. He looked good, he didn't look bad.

SPEAKER_01

First plate appearance, one home run, ended up going one for three, and was the only reason we scored a run that game. I mean, I don't even remember the final score of that game. What was the final score of the game? It was like 5-1. Couldn't tell you, dude. We probably won 5-1, and our only run was Felix Reyes, rookie got called up first A-B, bing, gone. See you later. That was electric. I was like, I was so happy. Um, I'm not gonna lie, I didn't really watch his other ABs. I don't know what he did. Hold on, I'll tell you in a second.

SPEAKER_02

He went over, he is one hit.

SPEAKER_01

He's one I know he went one for three, but I don't I don't know what he did.

SPEAKER_02

Uh strike out, and then uh I think he grounded out. He struck out once.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean, not horrible, but like I know it's early for war, but like we have one, two, three, four, five, six, six guys who are have a positive war. And by the way, though, it's only like point one or point two most of the time. Like, this is bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I really don't I really don't know what to do. Like, I I want to sit here and be like, there's a positive, like no, there's nothing. There's nothing.

SPEAKER_02

Our pitching sucks. Lozardo, I don't know what happened to him. I had so much faith for him, and he sucks. He is so bad.

SPEAKER_01

It looks like he's like not, it doesn't look like he's tipping his pitches like he was last year, but he's producing the same as when he was tipping his pitches. Yeah, like he's got well, what's his what's his ERI?

SPEAKER_02

Uh 794.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Yeah. So I mean, Sanchez has a 1590. He's Sanchez is the only redeeming light in the tunnel.

SPEAKER_02

You know what's sad, real quick? The guy who we thought that was the scariest, NOAA, is not even compared to the rest of everyone, is not even doing that bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so our five starters, Painter has the second best ERA at a 442.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I I mean I I I I like Painter, I'm gonna be able to do that. Yes, I've loved, I've liked watching.

SPEAKER_01

I'm okay with he's had a few rough starts, but I'm okay with that. He's a rookie. Nola has a 506. Even your Nola is not impressing me.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, but Loki, we knew what we were getting out of him. We expected that. Not a five ERA. I expected a five ERA. I'm sorry. I yes, I expected him to put up Lozard.

SPEAKER_01

Even your Nola, that's gotta be at least a three or a four.

SPEAKER_02

Not a three, not a three, it may be a four.

SPEAKER_01

And then, anyways, whatever. Screw that. Lozardo is a seven nine four, and then your boy Taiwan Walker has a nine-one six.

SPEAKER_03

Dude, I was so like, I had so much faith.

SPEAKER_01

So I remember seeing on the podcast like make Tywan Walker a starter, he's the best pitcher ever. Dude, dude, he looked he's getting railed, he's getting railed, he is getting balls are getting put wherever they want.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, it's like so like dude, like I don't know, like second half him last year was amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Like he's given up six home runs, 19 earned runs, and 18 innings.

SPEAKER_02

And has a two whip. Leading the leading the team in whip.

SPEAKER_01

And the one thing that he hates to do is walk people, he's got 10 of them. Yeah. Horrible.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, actually, okay, we we should go to the pen a little bit. I mean, Duran's being Duran.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't think the pen uh the pen's a little disappointing, but I don't think it's okay.

SPEAKER_02

Brad Keller, I'm very disappointed in. I had I had him being lights out, very disappointing.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yeah, he's he hasn't been great, but it's not like we've used him all that much.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, he's like a go-to guy.

SPEAKER_01

What I every time we're winning, for when we're winning, that was just happened. Yeah, that doesn't happen. He hasn't thrown. I don't when's the last time he threw? He probably hasn't thrown in a long time.

SPEAKER_02

Uh couldn't tell you, but and then we go to Jose Alvarado.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he threw the last time he threw was Saturday, and before that was Tuesday. He's done one time in the last week.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's crazy for a Penn guy.

SPEAKER_01

We're on a six-game losing streak, yeah. Terrible. All right, and then we threw an eight in our last ten.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this is it's so bad. But then we go to our boy Jose Alvarado, who's even done even worse. Oh my gosh, don't even talk, don't even get me started about Osemple toy, don't even get me started posting a nine ERA out of the pen with seven innings pitch and giving up ten hits and seven earned runs.

SPEAKER_01

The only thing that like really um looks good to me is I think outside of his last appearance, Tim Mesa looked really good.

SPEAKER_02

Uh yeah, I watched him a couple times. He he's been the he's just been the guy he needs to be. Just get in there, get out. Yeah, I agree with that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, his last appearance was okay, but three appearances ago against the Cubs where he gave up three earned runs.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That was bad. But outside of that, I think he's been pretty good. Uh, I think he had like a he had like a zero, yeah, he had like zero URA until that guy.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, Kirk Ring, we haven't seen enough of him. I'm not even gonna talk about Kirk Ring.

SPEAKER_01

Oh boy, he does not like Kirk Ring, dude.

SPEAKER_02

He's just like, I don't know. I'm not gonna talk about him. He hasn't even like we haven't seen him in a lot. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

It's just so we it's just so weird seeing everyone on the team look like they've never played baseball before.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, it's so like I like our pen isn't, I don't even think our pen's the best part of our game right now, which is so sad. Is is that like crazy to say?

SPEAKER_01

I'm not sure that's crazy to say. Like everything's so bad.

SPEAKER_02

Like, like, I mean, our starting pitching is iffy. Uh our our first four hitters can't do anything except Shorbert occasionally hitting a bomb. Like, sure, he has seven bombs right now. Is that who's leading the league numbers right now?

SPEAKER_01

I'm pretty sure it's um uh Jordan Alvarez. I think he has 10.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so Shorbert's really not doing that bad for Shorbert. Like, sure, he's batting like 210, but like that's what we get out of him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Jordan has 10, Judge has nine, and then Muncie, Max Muncie has eight, Ben Rice has eight. Ben Rice has eight, and then Jordan Walker has eight.

SPEAKER_02

Well sneaky, he's good. He's so he's he's really good. He's gonna be good.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up. People say Munataka Marikami can hit uh VLO, and then he takes a 98 mile an hour fastball, like 430 feet for a grand slam. Oh, I saw that. I thought that was a really big like F you to all his haters.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like yeah, that's why he didn't get signed by so many places except the White Space.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, people thought he couldn't hit Velo and then he takes 98. I mean, it was like a middle-middle fastball, but he still takes it for a grand slam over the fence by 40 feet. I just I I really I don't even know. Like normally I'm sitting here and I'm like, okay, I have an opinion on what to do.

SPEAKER_02

I have nothing.

SPEAKER_01

I don't. I'm genuinely hoping Zach Wheeler comes back, looks like Jesus Christ, and saves our entire franchise, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, like he's just like he's looked iffy down there, dude. Like he's looked bad, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's like last, I think his last appearance, three earned runs, like yeah, he's looked bad, and the the uh Yankees prospect took him deep. Yeah, you know, it's been like the top prospect. Did you see his interview? They were like, What'd you think about the kid? And he was like, uh, he's pretty good, he's got a pretty good swing, hoping not to face him too many times. Zach, Zach, don't say that.

SPEAKER_03

That's Zach.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, to be fair, he probably won't face him ever again. Maybe, yeah, I doubt it. Wheeler retires in a year or two.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, probably.

SPEAKER_01

Wheeler retires in a year or two. That guy's still in double A. Sure, he could progress up by next year. I don't think he makes it by this year.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I agree with that.

SPEAKER_01

So maybe Wheeler faces him like once next year, but that's like it. So yeah, he probably won't ever face him again, but don't say that out loud.

SPEAKER_02

I realized we're cooked when JT's gone, like completely screwed. What do you mean? We got Marshall. Sorry, dude.

SPEAKER_03

I just can't get over it.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, his expected, I'm looking at his his expected batting stats. His expected batting average is still 65. You know how expected works, right? Like this is crazy. Yeah, like I feel like Stubbs could put up better numbers than this.

SPEAKER_01

This is bad. I'm not gonna lie, I don't I don't know what expected batting average, how they calculate.

SPEAKER_02

It's like it goes based off like hard hit percentage and everything.

SPEAKER_01

Like the basic calculates what they expect his batting average to be at the end of the year.

SPEAKER_02

Uh no, no, like it does like how like it goes it it like so like oh it calculates like if he has a hard hit line drive, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like that should be.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like you know, like 90% of the time that's a hit. Like it adds in that.

SPEAKER_01

His is the it's just still 0.65 or his is the exact same. Fire, so he's not even doing anything. Awesome. Um, I mean our fielding looks okay. Uh we have 15 errors. We're fielding at a 981 clip. That's pretty good. We're making 98% of the plays.

SPEAKER_02

That's the one good part about Adolis, bro. Like, he he's a canon in right field, and he's like a golden glover, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He's only got one error on the season, he's fielding 970. That's elite, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Like, the only like good part about this whole lineup is literally Justin Crawford, and I just like can't like Justin Crawford, by the way, is the only person that doesn't have an error. Like, this is ridiculous, dude. Like, he doesn't have the most hits, of course, because again, not getting as many played appearances, of course, Bryce Harper. Which, I mean, makes sense, Bryce Harper, but like this is sad. Like, this is so Turner's batting 240.

SPEAKER_01

Also, shout out Dustin Crawford being the leader in average and not playing tonight. Dude, who do they have? Dude, do they have uh Marsh is playing center? Adoles is playing right, and he's a lefty on the mound.

SPEAKER_02

Felix Reyes is playing, who's on the mound?

SPEAKER_01

Shota. Shota Imonaga, left-handed pitcher.

SPEAKER_02

He's literally our best hitter against lefties. He didn't he lead the minor leagues.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know, but they put Felix Reyes in the four hole.

unknown

Oh my gosh, dude.

SPEAKER_01

He has three career at bats. He's in the four hole.

SPEAKER_02

I I I don't even know what they're doing anymore. Like, it's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_01

Also, I don't did we ever mention the the plus-minus?

SPEAKER_02

Uh no, we did not.

SPEAKER_01

Did we mention that before we started talking? I don't think we ever mentioned.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, we didn't.

SPEAKER_01

Started recording. Phillies have the worst plus minus differential in the league. In the league, not the national league, the entire major league baseball organization.

SPEAKER_02

Like, if you asked me like a month ago that like the White Sox would have a better run differentiable than us, like I would probably call you insane.

SPEAKER_01

The White Sox aren't even the second worst. They're not anymore. Is the Royals at minus 34? We're minus 42.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, like, hear me out. Malcolm Wood. 2022 is coming back.

SPEAKER_01

There is only We fire Rob and then we There's only there are two teams that have scored less runs than us. One is the San Francisco Giants, the other is the New York Mets.

SPEAKER_02

Shout out Matt Matt Bamonte. Mets suck. Spend as much money, spent more money and still suck. Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Our friend Matt that came on the show. He's um how do I put this lightly depressed? Because the Mets are on an 11 game losing. They were seven and four.

SPEAKER_02

To start it off.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're seven and fifteen. Now, to be fair, the Phillies were just eight and eight. They are now eight and fourteen. We're not much better. But we're not the Mets.

SPEAKER_02

Also, I take back what I said about uh Justin Crawford against lefties. Burr's batting like 80. Well, I mean, he does have a lot of ABs against lefties.

SPEAKER_01

Probably because they're not playing him against lefties.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's one for 12, which but I mean he's not striking out a lot, like, against them. Like, so I don't know. Still probably I I would trust him against a lefty over a Dolas right now. Also, I have no faith in that dude.

SPEAKER_01

Also, the people that we just played that put us on the sixth game losing streak or who we're about to play. Like, we played Cubs, lost two of three, played Braves, got swept in all three, and now we're back to playing the Cubs at their place, and then we're going to Atlanta to play the Braves at their place.

SPEAKER_02

Not looking forward to this.

SPEAKER_01

We I mean, six games already. We have six more games before we're home. Might be on a 12-game losing streak when we get back to Philly.

SPEAKER_02

By the way, we already lost more series than we did last year at home, by the way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. See that crazy. Phillies lost three series at Sissens Bank Park last year. They've lost three series so far. We're not even in the last year. No, four. Yeah, four. And we're not even in May. Not even in May. What a joke. We have over a week left in April. I don't know what to do. Fire everybody. DFA the whole team. Get rid of everybody. You know what? We can keep Justin Crawford. We can keep Felix Reyes if he gets a hit tonight. Um Sanchez can stay. Wheeler. Yep. As long as you don't have any more blood issues.

SPEAKER_02

I'm fine with Painter. I'm fine with Painter.

SPEAKER_01

Painter, clean it up a little bit, but I guess you're allowed.

SPEAKER_02

Duran? Duran.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, sure. Duran can stay. And outside of them, gone. See ya. Ah Schwarber. Schwarzer can stay like it. I like his bat. I like our one power guy. And then give me everybody in the miners. Call everybody up.

SPEAKER_03

Garrett Stubbs is back, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Stubbs is playing shortstop. Aiden Miller's playing third.

SPEAKER_02

We might like Bohm needs to be like, he needs to go. Like, this is so bad. Watching him. Yes, dude. Like, are is Bohm still playing? Huh?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Bryson's not playing today, Sosa's playing second.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, at least Sosa's getting reps in. They have been betting last. I mean, more fastballs for him, so I mean, I don't hate that. Yeah, I really don't hate that at all. He's basically he's a good second leadoff.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know who are that has more than three at bat? So excluding Felix Reyes. You know what who has the highest average in our lineup today?

SPEAKER_02

Probably. It's your boy.

SPEAKER_01

It's your boy.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, who's my boy?

SPEAKER_01

It's your boy. And he's a hitter. A little bit of a little JT.

SPEAKER_02

JT has wait, is Harper not playing?

SPEAKER_01

No, Harper's hitting 275. JT's hitting 280. Loki's not that bad. I didn't realize that. Yeah, I didn't either. I totally didn't see that. I didn't realize he was hitting 280.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, nearly 750 OPS for him. That's great.

SPEAKER_01

I will get I will actually take that. Oh, he's striking out on. I don't care. I don't care. He's hitting 280. I don't care. 280. If I have to celebrate because someone's hitting 280, we're in trouble. We're in trouble.

SPEAKER_02

Our average, our three, our our average OBP right now is 300.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, give give the whole freaking team a standing ovation.

SPEAKER_03

This is horrible. Our average is 220 as a whole team.

SPEAKER_01

When we go back to Philly after this six game road, well, it's seven games. We've already played one. So six game road streak that we're on. Philly fans clap the whole damn game. Give everybody a standing ovation. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe we'll win a game. We got Lazardo going tonight. It's either going to be Lazardo. Oh my God. It's either going to be seven innings of one hit ball or one inning of seven run ball. Who knows? Who knows? Who knows? Complete toss-up. Complete toss-up. Complete toss-up.

SPEAKER_03

Dude, it's like.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, like, I really don't want to watch tonight now. Like, it's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

I really haven't sat down and watched the game. I I I it's gonna make me want to kill myself. I don't want to do it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I don't want to do either. I don't want to do it. It's so rough watching either.

SPEAKER_01

It's so bad. It's so bad. I they're given a 39% chance to win according to ESPN.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe 39?

SPEAKER_01

I'd give us a 10.

SPEAKER_02

Loki might take that. I have faith in us.

SPEAKER_01

How long? Here's a question for you. When was the last time that the Phillies scored more than two runs in a baseball game?

SPEAKER_02

At least a week ago.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, exactly a week ago. Last Tuesday. And they scored four.

unknown

Four.

SPEAKER_02

Was that against the how's against the Cubs?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Who's pitching at least? For the Cubs.

SPEAKER_01

Tonight?

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. Then if you don't have to go. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

When he scored four runs, they threw uh Colin Raya.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay. It doesn't.

SPEAKER_01

Who cares? Well, they threw an opener and then they threw Colin Raya. Colin Raya just I'm pretty sure he pitched last night and he kind of cooked. Yeah, six and two thirds. Five K, six hits, two walks, one earned run. Anyways, uh, when did Shota pitch against us? Did he pitch against us? No, he didn't pitch that game. Did he pitch the third game? Oh, yeah, he did. We gave him his first win. His last stat line was six innings, three hits, one earned run, one walk, and eleven strikeouts.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, can I see it's gonna be a bloodbath of just like it's I it's like you said earlier, it's literally gonna be either Lazardo throwing a gem or he's giving up 10 runs. Like I have zero faith. PCA bats seventh now, and I've and I have faith, I have faith that Lazardo will give up a home run to PCA than our whole team actually doing something tonight. Like, this is like ridiculous. They put him down that far now. Loki crazy.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, he's not that good at hitting, but crazy, but Nico Horner, he's looked pretty good. Yeah, I just this is such these guys' averages off of Jesus Lazardo. 294, 308, 125, 200, 500, 0, 263, 600, and 333.

SPEAKER_03

We're cooked.

SPEAKER_01

Let's look at our averages against uh Imanaga. 400 00 not applicable 500 0200 0200.

SPEAKER_03

Dude, it's just not gonna be like I like I don't know what to do.

SPEAKER_01

Do you think we should fire Rob Thompson?

SPEAKER_02

Dude, like the this could be another like two 2022 play. Like it I don't know who we would hire put Rob Mattingley, put Mattingley. I want him as our manager. I want Mattingley. Did you say put who? Mattingly, our bench coach.

SPEAKER_01

Don Mattingley.

SPEAKER_02

I think I said Rob at first. I'm at Don't.

SPEAKER_01

I I thought you said Rob, so I thought maybe I heard you wrong.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, that's on me.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, put Tom Didn wasn't he am I tripping, or did he coach for the Cubs?

SPEAKER_02

He no, he coached for uh LA for a while. The Dodgers for the Cubs, I forget. Uh I think he coached for Colorado for a little bit. Uh it may it might have been. I don't know. So wouldn't hate it. I love Rob, but this is depressing. This is horrible. Like, if this happens, if this goes on for a month, I think we should. Because we need something. We need something. This is like horrible to watch. Speaking of, Otto Kent, Batic 100. Shout out, shout out auto.

SPEAKER_01

But he's got like no, he's got 20 ABs. Really? He's up to 20? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And he's done horrible.

SPEAKER_01

Just I don't know what to say.

SPEAKER_02

By the way, almost a 50% K rate by Autokempt. By Autokemp. Almost a 50% K rate, which is crazy. 50% K rate. Yeah, he has nine strikeouts and 20 ABs.

SPEAKER_01

That's fire. That's my left fielder.

SPEAKER_02

Like. Again, I have no words. Like, I really don't.

SPEAKER_01

I really like. And I don't want this to be super negative.

SPEAKER_02

Like, there's nothing to positive to talk about.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? Positive light. Jordan Romano still sucks.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, how bad is he doing on the age? I've ever seen in my entire life.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, last time I checked, he was pretty bad at uh for that.

SPEAKER_01

Shout out the Phillies for getting rid of him. That's the only good thing they've done this year.

SPEAKER_02

We did a job. Wait a minute. Zach Wheeler will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Saturday in Atlanta for.

SPEAKER_01

He's starting Saturday in Atlanta for um Holy crap. For Taiwan Walker.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, reinstated.

SPEAKER_01

They're gonna use him as an opener and then go to Taiwan.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this was literally, I just got the notification. Yeah, Wheeler made his fifth. I mean, dude, five ERA in the minors.

SPEAKER_01

Or wait.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's starting Saturday.

SPEAKER_01

Starting Saturday?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, it says said Saturday in Alano, which dude.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that makes sense. Who's gonna open for us tomorrow? We don't even know.

SPEAKER_02

We've oh Zardo Peener.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no. It's supposed to be Taiwan Walker, but we're we're oh yeah, oh yeah, they don't know yet.

SPEAKER_02

Loki wouldn't wouldn't heat just like I don't know, a little pen game.

SPEAKER_01

Probably Zach Pop. No, no, they'll go to Taiwan after an inning or probably an inning. Yeah, and then Taiwan will give up 86 runs on 39,000 hits and two walks, and then they'll pull him. Yeah, and then the Phillies will lose one billion to nothing.

SPEAKER_03

And lead the league for for the lowest run differentiable.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I'm so glad the Mets suck because if they didn't, I would this would be the worst season all oh dude, this would be horrible. And the Braves, shout out the Braves for huge turnaround, huge turnaround, huge turnaround. Shout out the Braves for being the only team in the division above 500.

SPEAKER_03

How bad it is?

SPEAKER_01

The worst team in the NL Central would be the second best team in our division by a long shot. By like four games.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Milwaukee's the worst team in the NL Central. They're 12 and 9.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I saw that. Yeah, a little interesting. Never would have thought the pirates are higher than them, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, pirates are 13 and 9. Reds are 15 and 8. Dodgers have the best record in the NLB. It's 16 and 6. Of course they do. Um yeah. Really, really quite an interesting year so far.

SPEAKER_02

It's coming off 2022 fives.

SPEAKER_01

Need the need the Phillies to step it up a lot. We need a more hitting coach, get a new pitching coach, get a new coach coach, get a new uh no, I want Don.

SPEAKER_02

Keep Don Mattingham.

SPEAKER_01

Third baseman, get a new left. Actually, I like Marsh, Crawford, and Garcia.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I okay. Not a huge fan of Garcia.

SPEAKER_01

I'm okay with him.

SPEAKER_02

He's gonna yeah, that's fair. That's fair.

SPEAKER_01

And then Sosa third base, call up Garrett Stubbs. We need to bring back Bryson Stott's walk-up song.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, yeah, I don't know why he got rid of it. Um like we're it's we're we're done, dude. He needs to bring it back.

SPEAKER_01

Needs to bring it back, it's gotta come back. We need to, you know, figure out how to not TFP practice for Orion Kirking. Yeah, he's still terrified, still still really, really scared. Um teach Lazardo how to not tell the other team what he's throwing, and give up homers, teach Tywon Walker that he plays for the team in the field, not the team up to bat. Um give Christopher Sanchez all the money in the world.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, he he deserves both.

SPEAKER_01

I don't care, figure out some other cool, you know, technical thing to do for Duran's walkout.

SPEAKER_03

Um, Samoros empic and pray to God Zach Wheeler doesn't shit the bed for Saturday.

SPEAKER_01

Pray to God that Zach Wheeler wins the Cy Young because I uh I was gonna say Lord help us now, but I'm not even sure he can do anything, yeah. Like but you know what? That's my team, and we're gonna win the World Series.

SPEAKER_02

I have no faith right now, nothing until until we generally like I have zero faith.

SPEAKER_01

Watch how many games in the season are we? We're eight and fourteen, we're 22 games in. Yeah, not even lose another game the rest of the year. We're gonna end 148 and 14. Best record of all time. No one's ever seen a win streak. Like, what's about to happen?

SPEAKER_03

Dude, that would be insane, though. Like, there's no way it's possible, but okay.

SPEAKER_01

Turner's gonna end the year batting 800.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Shorbert's gonna hit 100 bombs.

SPEAKER_01

Shorbert's hitting 150 tanks. Um all of our pitchers are never giving up another run.

SPEAKER_03

Not all perfect games.

SPEAKER_01

We're throwing 140 perfect games. We're throwing we're throwing 980 straight perfect innings.

SPEAKER_03

I can't, bro. I can't. I just can't, dude.

SPEAKER_01

This is so bad. Only good thing to come out of this is ticket prices are like 10 bucks. Oh, yeah, dude, it's it's stupid. We'll be in a bunch of games over the summer. Oh, dude.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, free, like after work, easily front tailgate, have a good time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, spend all the money on food, like drive down to Citizen Bank Park, grab a grab a lawn chair, sit out, maybe throw some cornhole.

SPEAKER_02

Um any of us have a truck. Nah, never mind. I was gonna say we bring up the table.

SPEAKER_01

No, um, that would be fun. But it's hopefully not, you know, cry. We need like a song, like dancing on my own.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, but that's only for playoffs, Loki.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, like song is low-key like what the season feels like. Like that's that sad song is what the season feels like.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean that's a good that's a good comparison. I mean, we just yeah, we need something that's gonna change something. I don't even know.

SPEAKER_01

Like, and of course, we we kept um we kept our staff how it is, and we got rid of Mick Abel, and Mick Abel looks really good.

SPEAKER_02

How good is he right now for the twins?

SPEAKER_01

Um actually he's a 398 ERA, better than most of our starters, so 23 strikeouts, 20 and a third innings pitched, 22 hits, nine earned runs. You don't hate that one five seven whip.

SPEAKER_02

Don't like that.

SPEAKER_01

Three games started, two quality starts.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, actually, don't yeah, not bad.

SPEAKER_01

Compare that to any of our pitchers, better than everyone, Christopher Sanchez.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Why can't Christopher Sanchez just throw every game?

SPEAKER_01

That's not okay. I'll tell you what, though, there's gonna be a new Cy Young this year, dude. I like it's either Scooby and Skeens.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Scoobyl, I think, is gonna win it.

SPEAKER_01

It's not gonna be well, okay. I'm not saying it's gonna be two completely new ones. I think one of them might win, but I don't think they both win.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, Skeens is not off to a hot start.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't think Scoobul wins the AF. You heard him for the Los Angeles Angels called Jose Soriano. No 0.33 ERA. Absolute demon. 0.43 win.

SPEAKER_02

Can we talk about a big positive? Mike Trout looks amazing.

SPEAKER_03

Mike Trout's back in his prime. Like, I know I love it. But he's hitting some nukes.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, like he's swinging the bat well. The eight have at least two redeeming things. Mike Trout.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's not back. He he's still batting like 230.

SPEAKER_01

But like not back.

SPEAKER_02

That's not what I meant, but not nearly one 958 OPS.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, no, like amazing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my bad. Jose Soriano has a.280 RA. Give this man the Cy Young now.

SPEAKER_02

You know what's crazy? My traut's batting like a whole, like, more than uh he's batting 300 away and then batting 29 or two or one two one 129 at home. Sorry, he's batting 129 at home and 300 away. Make that make sense.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? You know how last year I always joked with you guys that like the Phillies were so bad, I was gonna become a Tigers fan.

SPEAKER_03

I remember you saying that like every day.

SPEAKER_01

This might be the year. It might be. You know what? You know who I really like is the Tigers catcher, Dylan Dingler.

SPEAKER_02

Dylan Dingler is a dog. I love him.

SPEAKER_01

I think he's so good. And no one brings his name up. Another catcher I think is pretty good, Shea Langaliers.

SPEAKER_02

Sure, Shay Langlear, he's having a great great season already, I think. Well, I remember seeing him up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. He's he's hitting some tanks.

SPEAKER_02

I can't play fantasy baseball. That's too much. I mean, I can. Yeah, that's fair.

SPEAKER_01

But like I'm excited because Shea Langaliers is is he's getting me excited.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. It's just I have like no words for the fills.

SPEAKER_01

I thought you were gonna say something. Uh it's gonna be silence, it's just silence because Swirr was gonna say something and forgot what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, I just can't. Like the Phil's just are so bad.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, I don't know. I'm so like energetic about the fact that the Phillies are so not energetic. Put me in the dugout, I cheer them up. Come on, guys, one of you has to get a hit today. We can't get no hit. There's no way, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Like, can you bet on like a team getting no hit? Like, it's gotta be like a crazy stat, but like if you put like calling a no-hitter, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But like five bucks on it, that would be insane.

SPEAKER_02

Just like I legitimately have zero words for the fills anymore. Like, I can't, just can't.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, I don't know. I I mean honestly, I'm not sure there's much else to say. I think this about wraps it up. The Phillies are bad, the Phillies are bad. Andy Pajes has got himself, and hopefully the Phillies get better. Yeah, those are my four takeaways from this episode. Yep, it's all we can say because, yeah, that's about it, guys. Yep. Um, I mean, we'll we'll jump on again next week, and if we're you know alive, alive. Um hopefully the Phillies aren't on like a 12 game losing streak the next time we call. But yeah, I mean at the end of the day, go fills, but wow, that that's just so bad.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, well, yeah. Yep, we'll see ya.
