What's up everybody? Good morning. Welcome back to another episode of the Plus Money Sports Betting Podcast. My name is Q. You can follow me on all socials at BettsByQ. And of course, this podcast is brought to you by Black Sheep Betting, where it is a dog's world. To say that yesterday was a great day would be an understatement. If you follow me on socials, you know what I'm talking about. We absolutely crushed it in the VIP. We crushed it in the Discord. Just a great day. Opened up with the podcast play. We had Ethan Quinn plus 120 to defeat Hubie Hercocks. He gets it done in straight sets. Don't know what the line was. Not sure what's going on with Huey. Uh, but it looks like his best years are behind him, so we cash in on that bet. Also had a really great day in the Miami Open. Um, if you have a chance and you want a little bit more action, come check out the Discord. It's absolutely free. I'm normally in the tennis channel, that's where I am making most of my appearances, dropping a lot of my plays in the Discord. It is hosted by Will from the Double Fault Tennis Podcast. It's absolutely free. We'd love to have you in there. It's just a place to, you know, share your bets, you know, talk it through, cope with the losses, um, building a winning community in there, positive culture. Again, it's absolutely free. So if you want a little bit more action, um, and a place to talk sports every hour of every single day, the Discord is for you. And of course, I've got some VIP packages, drop the CBB package, it's off to a hot start. Um, I'm not gonna bore you with my recap because I had a really great day. VIP had a really great day, but let's get into Friday's play. Alright. I've got one for you here. I think I smell an upset. Alright. We've got Hofstra versus Alabama. Stylistically, this is a straight clash of tempo. Okay. Alabama wants to run top ten in pace. They want to track me. Alright? They want to score in transition. Um, I mean, on the flip side, you've got Hofstra, who they want the exact opposite. One of the slowest teams in the entire country outside of the top 300 in tempo. So they want to drag you in to the half court, make every possession uncomfortable, and really slow down this game. And here's where it gets interesting. Hofstra's defense, they're kind of legit. Alright. I'm talking top 10 in opponent effective field goal percentage, and even more importantly, they're elite at protecting the rim. That's going to come into play today. Top five in the country and two-point percentage allowed. Seven footer um Silas will be in the game on Sunday. What does that mean? It just means that a Alabama directly attacking the rim isn't going to be a cakewalk. Okay. That's what Alabama does best. It's getting downhill, scoring at the rim. So we have yet again another clash and matchup. And how this game and the game flow is projected to play out. Okay. Let's talk form here. Hofstra is absolutely hot. They've won 11 of their last 12 games. Just ran through their conference tournament. Their backcourt is buzzing with confidence right now. Alright. They've got the guards to lock in. Cruz Davis, Preston Edmead. Um, look, if you want the formula for a Cinderella team, guards that control the game. That's the key. Alright. Hofstra has that. They're catching 11 and a half points. Alright? Alabama, they're not bad by any means. But this is not a basketball program. Alright? A lot of people are gonna come in, they're gonna lay the points, they're gonna bet blindly on Alabama just based off name recognition. Okay? I think the ceiling for Alabama is the final four. Alright. But defensively, they've been a little bit too inconsistent to be laying the double-digit points here. Okay. Um they're going up against a disciplined mid-major team that's going to execute their chances. Alright. From a betting perspective, this is where I lean in. Hofstra has been a covering machine. Why? Because they control the pace. When you can slow the game down, shorten possessions, and it becomes harder for favorites to pull away in the end of the game. Alright. Alabama, when they're laying big numbers against teams like this, they have not been a reliable team against the spread. Okay. Hofstra checks all the boxes for the play today. They've got the guard play, they've got the rim protection, they've got a style of basketball that can frustrate a team like Alabama. That's exactly how you get a 13 seed over a four-seed. Okay. I think that Alabama survives this matchup. I do not think that they cover. Alright? I think this is a low-scoring game. Give me give me Hofstra on the points. Plus 11 and a half. Minus 105 for one unit. Lock it in. I will see you at the counter. Okay. One play on the board today. One unit in play. Slow and steady wins the race. Alright, tap in on the socials, tap into the VIP, into the Discord. I will be back here on Monday with more plus money plays from around the sports world. As always, my name is Q from Black Sheet Betting, and I hope each and every one of you hear each and every one of your bets. Peace.
