Intro

SPEAKER_03

Welcome back to Be Afraid of the Dark. I'm your shotgun Breck. That's your driver Spencer.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what to do with my hands.

SPEAKER_03

And today we're gonna figure out if Dean would have a crush on us or not. So Woo!

Main Discussion

SPEAKER_03

Um so we thought that this episode would be really funny if we found some quizzes, some generic supernatural quizzes.

SPEAKER_01

So I found our special presentation two.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So I found some trivia quizzes for the first two seasons. I found some what character are you?

SPEAKER_01

This is fun. Normally I'm the one kind of just like guiding us through it. Now I don't have anything, I don't have a journal in my hands.

SPEAKER_03

He hates it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what to do.

SPEAKER_03

If you guys don't know, you if Spencer needs a task.

SPEAKER_01

I need a task.

SPEAKER_03

He loves a task.

SPEAKER_01

But I'm about to have a task, I'm about to take a bunch of quizzes.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. So are are you ready?

SPEAKER_01

I'm very excited. So run us through the basics of what our quizzes will be. I just interrupted you when you said it, but yeah, go ahead and give us the basics of what we'll be doing.

SPEAKER_03

This one is which supernatural character are you? Fantastic. This one here is uh ten questions about season one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

This one is quotes from season one.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh.

SPEAKER_03

This one is season two trivia quiz.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

This one is which we giggled at, can you survive an episode of Supernatural? Yeah. And then this one is some of these supernatural plots are real and some are fake. So prove you're a fan by guessing which or which.

SPEAKER_01

So we'll see how many of these we get through today. We'll see how the conversation goes. We may save some for next time. But wherever you would like to start, let's let's get under one.

SPEAKER_03

Well, you know what? I'll I'll save we can go ahead and link these in the the description and you should take them too and let us know what you're doing.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna be in charge of keeping track of these links for when we put them in.

SPEAKER_03

No, I'll keep them. Okay. So we're gonna start with which supernatural characters. Perfect, let's do it. Okay. Starting off strong, would you say that you tend to act before thinking or think before acting?

SPEAKER_01

I'm of two is there a both option.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so I usually act before thinking, which gets me into trouble sometimes. I mostly think before acting, preferring strategy to impulsivity. Or it depends on the situation. If it's important, then I think, but if something if it's something I could be flexible with, I act first.

SPEAKER_01

It's that one. I mean I'm impulsive until I'm not. You know what I mean? Like I'm very, I'm very, I'm just gonna run headlong into this thing until it's like, well, do I need to buy that Blu-ray? And then I look up every version, which was today as of recording.

SPEAKER_03

Which was, in fact, today. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

El Camino is what I bought.

SPEAKER_03

And it was awesome. So, you know. From these options, choose your favorite thing from the show.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And Paula 67, Dean Winchester's necklace, his amulet, John's Journal, The Colt, Holy Water slash salt, the tablets, if you remember the the Angel tablets. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a little ahead for you guys. Castell's trench coat.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

The fake FBI IDs, hex bags, Sam's computer.

SPEAKER_01

You can't see it. I actually have a hex bag back in the shelf back there that I made for a short film uh we should have coming out at some point.

SPEAKER_03

We love hex bags. Yeah. Uh Sam's computer. Okay. Devil's trap. Pie.

SPEAKER_01

So is this the question of which would I want?

SPEAKER_03

This is just from these options, choose your favorite thing.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I know it's hard.

SPEAKER_01

It's the Impala, right? It is. Like, I'd be crazy not to say the Impala. The cult is high up there.

SPEAKER_03

The thing is, if you picked any of these, like most of these, if you pick John's journal, I'd be like, yeah, fair.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and see, John's journal is the other one where it's like, in terms of items, I would love to have the screen used John's journal. Yes. Or but the Impala. It's the Impala. It's the Impala. Like it's the most unassumingly badass car of all time. It's awesome. And when I say unassuming, it's like when you think of a badass car, you don't think of an Impala, but you see it and you're like, never mind. That's what it is. Yeah, the Impala. It's the Impala.

SPEAKER_03

And you know, because one time I saw 67 Black Chevy Impala in a parking lot when I was in high school, and I was like, Yeah. Like you would like it's it's an impossible car to be able to do it.

SPEAKER_01

It's just not the first car you think of when you think of big abrasive cars, but it is. It is.

SPEAKER_03

They what do they always describe it as? It's like if a Rottweiler was a car.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it is. That's so true. It's so cool. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And it's true because Rottweilers are also big sweet babies.

SPEAKER_01

I'm going Impala. I have to go Impala. I'm yeah.

SPEAKER_03

In your family birth order, which sibling are you? Oldest, youngest, middle child, at least one of them or only child. I know the answer. Middle child. I'm a middle child.

SPEAKER_01

I have an older older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister. So I'm one of the two middle.

SPEAKER_03

One of the answers to this that I missed is it's complicated.

SPEAKER_01

That is my mother. Yeah, my my mother and her her uh like half-sibling, step sibling line is it's complicated.

SPEAKER_03

It's complicated. Okay. Um to you, which band is the best from these options?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this is gonna be interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Deathcab for cutie, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Skinnard, The Offspring, Alice and Chains, Nirvana, Bon Jovi, Queen, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so here's the issue.

SPEAKER_03

I love they also put I can't possibly choose between a lot of these options. The author knew.

SPEAKER_01

I gotta be somewhere. Here's the thing. I've seen Bon Jovi three times in concert. I love Bon Jovi.

SPEAKER_03

You love your Bon Jovi.

SPEAKER_01

Man, do I love I I really love Nirvana. And of turn in terms of like the real like classic hard rock, it's like ACDC is the one I'm the most familiar with. I I purely from a this is ruining my chances of getting Dean because Dean only likes one Bon Jovi song. Neither both of them only like one Bon Jovi. I gotta pick Bon Jovi.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

That is not at actually. Did you already click on it? Can you go back? I can go back. Go Nirvana. Okay. I feel like Nirvana is more representative of who I am today. Whereas Bon Jovi was like very much like middle school, high school me when I'm like getting into rock and roll music. But I think Nirvana is what I listen to more now. Breck put together a very cool like punk skater kind of playlist for me for this thing I was writing. There's a lot of Nirvana on it. So I do listen to a lot of Nirvana. It's a great playlist.

SPEAKER_03

You should be able to find it if you follow our Supernatural podcasts on Spotify. Yeah. Which a lot of you do. Every time I go check on the pay on the playlist, someone's listening to them.

SPEAKER_01

So Oh, for real?

SPEAKER_03

Well, not that I it's not that I can see someone's listening, but multiple people have saved them. Oh, that's cool.

SPEAKER_01

Like what, like two?

SPEAKER_03

Like man, screw you. Uh no, I the season one has like 15 saves. That's that's awesome. That's super cool. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Spotify's the worst, but it's the easiest to link to, and it's it's what Brecken is having to do.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm I know, I get it.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, moving on. Next question. Next question.

SPEAKER_03

Regarding your loved ones, friends, andor family, would you say you are mostly protected, or do you protect them? I'm usually protected. I usually do the protecting. It depends. I protect some and some protect me, or I protect myself only.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I'm the one that gets the most up in arms about like injustices within the family. You do. Like people who get wrong, and I'm like, that's not okay, and you should yell at that person. I'll yell at them for you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like that's me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. I feel like a lot of people are sticking up for me.

SPEAKER_03

Hey.

SPEAKER_01

What about me? You do. You do, but siblings, doesn't it say siblings?

SPEAKER_03

It said loved ones, friends, and gorgeous.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_03

You usually do the protecting.

SPEAKER_01

I usually I think so.

SPEAKER_03

What creature from the series do you find the most interesting? Ghosts, shapeshifters, demons, angels, witches, vampires, werewolves, djinn, prophets, tulpas, or the golem.

SPEAKER_01

Which one are the tulpas again?

SPEAKER_03

The tulpas are like the the the hellhouse, the ghosts that they made out of like thin air.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so conceptually I love that idea. They don't really do many of those though.

SPEAKER_03

They don't. They don't.

SPEAKER_01

I think honestly, I I really like the ghosts because I like if we're talking specifically supernatural, because I'm more of a monster guy than I am like a like a supernatural entity. Well, that's I guess that's not even necessarily true, but I do love monsters. Yeah. But I think in supernatural, the way they use the ghost and like what they link them to and all that stuff is always really, really fascinating to me. I think they do a great job with ghosts and supernatural. So I may I may say ghosts.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, let's do ghosts. Are you more optimistic, pessimistic, or realistic?

SPEAKER_01

Depending on who you ask. Uh I feel like I'm a realist. I feel like I'm more realistic. You don't agree with that?

unknown

What do you do?

SPEAKER_03

I think I'm the optimist and I think you're the pessimist, and then we balance out.

SPEAKER_01

But that's the thing. I'm not a pessimist. I look at every situation and go, this is what happens 90% of the time, and I go with it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Just because 90% of reality is negative doesn't necessarily mean I'll put you as a realist, honey. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I this is my self-diagnosis, not yours. What positive trait would you use to describe yourself the most? None. Witty?

SPEAKER_01

Zero. None of them. No. Not a single one.

SPEAKER_03

You need to say something nice about yourself. I'm not done. Witty, adaptable slash flexible, devoted, friendly, bold, charming, supportive, confident, honest, empathetic, or strong slash resilient.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'm supportive. You are. Yeah, I have a lot of creative friends that I always offer to just like help in any way that I can, read stuff, show up on sets. That'll be it. I'm I'm I try to be as supportive as I can.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, we'll do that one. What negative trait would you use to describe yourself the most? All of them.

SPEAKER_01

Mark all of all of them.

SPEAKER_03

Manipulative, overly selfless, impulsive slash rash, avoidant, harsh slash blunt, stubborn, cynical, obsessive, naive on some level, resentful or judgmental.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I can be a little judgmental, but that's mostly when I'm mad. Like when someone has done something that has like I view as m morally wrong.

SPEAKER_03

True.

SPEAKER_01

Which I guess is judgmental. Honey, we're judgmental together. Uh I feel like I'm stubborn.

SPEAKER_03

You're very stubborn.

SPEAKER_01

I'm stubborn. I don't like quitting things, even when I probably should just quit stuff. Like, diagnose to be stubborn.

SPEAKER_03

Is it easy for you to be yourself around others, or do you hold back from showing full emotion? I feel good expressing myself and how I feel. I don't let others stop me. I hold myself back. I don't want others to worry about me, and I don't trust some people, or it depends on what setting I'm in and who I'm around.

SPEAKER_01

Depends completely on what setting. Like I am not the person who is just 100% authentically who I am in front of everybody because who else? You know what I mean? I don't want to say certain things in front of certain people. Like yeah, I'm I'm I'm in the middle there. I feel like I'm copping out on several of these.

SPEAKER_03

You're not. No. This question is funny because I can answer that because our dog is sitting right there. Are you a dog lover or a dog hater?

SPEAKER_01

I love dogs. Dogs are the greatest things.

SPEAKER_03

I love that it has the answer. It depends on the dog.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I cut it. I cut it out of this. My dog was over there, and I had to go stop her from getting into something a second ago. So like she's a good baby. She's a good dog. We love Gracie.

SPEAKER_03

Gracie go on the box.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll just sit her up in one of these chairs.

SPEAKER_03

The concept of inviting our dog to the podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Uncomfortable question. Feel free to skip. To those who have a few issues, I can relate to some. It can be suffocating and stressful, but know that you aren't alone. They called out, they were like, we want you to know. What's your relationship with your parents? Skip, I'd rather not answer. Absent parent issues, emotionally absent parent issues, other parent issues, none, luckily. We can skip this question and cut it.

SPEAKER_01

I would say none, luckily. Like, look, I there my parents and I have tiffs, and but there are certain like I wish my parents were more willing to discuss like emotional things, but they're not unwilling to you know what I mean? So it's it's yeah, none. There's no like genuine issues with my parents.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Choose a color red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, gray, black, or brown.

SPEAKER_00

Black.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Are you more of a leader or a follower, or do you do your own thing?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I would say I I find that I get shoved into the leader position a lot. You do. And that I'm just I'm I'm fine just making a decision. Like we went to Disneyland with my family, and I was the one who was just like, this is what we need to go do next. Like I was the one who was looking ahead and trying to like guide it. Now, whether or not people listened, I don't know, but that's I I typically am the one who's like, at any job I've ever had, I'm the guy who ends up training people. Um I'm the example. So I would say I'm a leader.

SPEAKER_03

You're a leader. Are you a party person? Hell no. Hell yeah. What kind of party?

SPEAKER_01

Uh hell no. Like, no, not at all, dude. I hate parties.

SPEAKER_03

I have great information for. What am I? You're Dean Winchester.

SPEAKER_01

That doesn't really make sense. Dean feels like a party guy.

SPEAKER_03

The older brother, Hunter, member of the Men of Letters.

SPEAKER_01

Member of the Men of Letters? Okay. Okay, so that's that. I'm Dean Winchester. Didn't you take this one?

SPEAKER_03

I did.

SPEAKER_01

Who'd you get?

SPEAKER_03

I got Charlie. Or no, I got Gabriel. I got Gabriel. Hey, that's fun. Who we haven't seen, or yes, we have. We've seen we've seen sort of. Sort of.

SPEAKER_01

We've seen the trickster. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Do you want to do a trivia question next?

SPEAKER_01

Or do you want to do a survive or a do you have a season two specific trivia? I do. Let's do a season two specific trivia.

SPEAKER_03

In In My Time of Dying, John gave Sam his credit card. What was the name on the card? John Winchester, Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Elroy McGillicuddy.

SPEAKER_01

John Bonham, right?

SPEAKER_03

Is that your final answer?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. What was it?

SPEAKER_03

Uh wait. How did this one work?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wait, no, I got it. Okay. No, it'll give us the answers at the end.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Great.

SPEAKER_03

John Winchester died at what time? 2 15 p.m., 6 32 p.m., 12 52 p.m., 10 41 a.m.

SPEAKER_01

2, right? The two? I think it's two. I think that's right.

SPEAKER_03

In season two of Supernatural had how many episodes that included one or more ghosts? 12, 3, 9, or 6.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man, that's there's no way. That needs to be on our end of the season retrospective. It's like a list of how many different things they hunted.

SPEAKER_03

That's a thing I can put together for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, what were the options again?

SPEAKER_03

Twelve, three, nine, or six.

SPEAKER_01

And is this episodes that featured ghosts, not ghosts in the season?

SPEAKER_03

Included one or more ghosts.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, six. I'm gonna just say six is because there's no way it's twelve. They they did too many other things.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. In Bloodlust, Sam and Dean masqueraded his reporters for what paper? Weekly World News, World News of the Week, World Weekly News, or the Daily Planet? Uh sorry, uh Weekly World News?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

World News of the Week. World Weekly News, The Daily Planet.

SPEAKER_01

Because isn't this the one where Dean messes it up? So he flips it? Yes. C. I'm going with C. Just I'm gonna Okay.

SPEAKER_03

How many episodes in season two of Supernatural included an appearance by at least one demon? Three, twelve, nine, or six.

SPEAKER_01

At least one demon. Not including mentions, I'm assuming.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. An appearance. A demon was on screen.

SPEAKER_01

It's the last two. And then the um premiere. Okay, give g give me the numbers again. How many?

SPEAKER_03

Three, twelve, nine, and six.

SPEAKER_01

Six. I'm going six.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. That feels right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. There's no way it was nine.

SPEAKER_03

And children shouldn't play with dead things. Sam visited his mother's headstone and buried something there. What was it?

SPEAKER_01

John's dog tags. I don't even need the answers to that one. I got that. I got that one.

SPEAKER_03

The other options were Mary's necklace, a photo, and John's wedding band, which is actually incorrect because I think Dean wears No Dean doesn't wear John. Dean wears Mary's wedding band. Yeah. Which is deeply upsetting. How many episodes in season two of Supernatural have appearances by psychic kids other than Sam?

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

Eight, two, four, or six?

SPEAKER_01

Um other than Sam, we get Andy. We get Catherine Isabel Ava? Yeah. And then the last two, right?

SPEAKER_03

Um and the one who's murdered as well.

SPEAKER_01

That's in the one with Ava, though. So was four an option? Four. It's four. It's gotta be just four.

SPEAKER_03

Was there a gin, an episode with a gin in season two? Yes. Yes. There was. There was. What selection contains a location that was not in an episode of season two of Supernatural? Oh shit. Cornwall, Connecticut, Buffalo, New York. They have two in each one. Contains a location that was not. This is a hard question. Philadelphia PA. Baltimore, Maryland. We went to Philadelphia, okay. In Baltimore, so those were both in it. Lafayette, Indiana. Um, River Pass, Oregon. That happened.

SPEAKER_01

That one happened.

SPEAKER_03

San Francisco. Cold Oak, South Dakota.

SPEAKER_01

It's A. Yeah. Yeah, it's A.

SPEAKER_03

Salmon Dean had to evade a SWAT team in which episode of season two? Heart, hunted, Folsom Prison Blues, Night Shifter.

SPEAKER_01

A SWAT team? Mm-hmm. This is technically this happens in two, but it's it's um.

SPEAKER_03

Do you want me to read them again?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I don't know. I'm blanking today. It's not Heart, it's hunted. It's not Hunted.

SPEAKER_03

Folsom Prison Blues.

SPEAKER_01

Technically, they do in this one, but I don't think this is the answer.

SPEAKER_03

Night Shifter.

SPEAKER_01

It's Night Shifter. Because Night Shifter they literally have to.

SPEAKER_03

And which episode of season two of Supernatural did Sam say to Dean, you're like one of those rats that pushes the pleasure button instead of the food button until it dies. Tall Tales? Houses of the Holy.

SPEAKER_01

Stop. It's Houses of the Holy. It's the magic fingers. It's the magic fingers, dude. Like it's like Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Jared Patalecki injured his hand while filming Bloodlust. The injury was written into another episode of season two. Which episode had Sam breaking his hand? Simon said, No exit. Everybody loves a clown. Children shouldn't play with dead things. I'm trying to mentally picture which episode he has the cast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I it's Is this the episode where he g he break like he has a cast on his hand?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

So what was B again?

SPEAKER_03

No exit.

SPEAKER_01

Which episode was no exit?

SPEAKER_03

Um uh A.J. Holmes. Simon said it's Andy. Everybody loves a clown is before bloodlust.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's not that.

SPEAKER_03

And then there's children shouldn't play with dead things.

SPEAKER_01

And it's not children shouldn't play with dead things. Because I think that's the one where they write in that he broke his arm. Because remember, she throws him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_01

So it's gotta be no exit.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, let's do that.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think that's right, but it's it's the only one that makes sense to me. Okay. Is this riveting podcasting? I can't think. This is riveting podcasting. Are you kidding me?

SPEAKER_03

And heart, why was Sam the one that stayed to protect Madison while Dean went to find her ex-boyfriend?

SPEAKER_01

But he won rock, paper, scissors.

SPEAKER_03

Dean correct.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That was one of the answers.

SPEAKER_01

You always go scissors or whatever you always say.

SPEAKER_03

One of them was Dean told Sam to stay because he knew Sam liked her. Madison asked Sam to be the one to stay. None of these Dean was the one to stay. Can you imagine not remembering that episode that much?

SPEAKER_01

No. That's that episode's heart rate.

SPEAKER_03

What season two supernatural episode contained the first time Sam and Dean met Agent Agent Henrickson in person, specifically? Born under a bad sign, the usual suspects, Folsom Prison Blues, Night Shifter.

SPEAKER_01

Folsom Prison Blues, right? No, sorry, uh read him again.

SPEAKER_03

Born under a bad sign. The usual suspects.

SPEAKER_01

Which one is born under a bad sign?

SPEAKER_03

That's when um Meg possesses him.

SPEAKER_01

But it's not that one because they get arrested and that's why they meet him. So keep going?

SPEAKER_03

The usual suspects with Linda Blair.

SPEAKER_01

But he doesn't show up in that one. No, he doesn't.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, he does.

SPEAKER_01

No, he doesn't.

SPEAKER_03

I thought he did. No. Folsom Prison Blues. Night Shifter. I think it's Folsom Prison Blues.

SPEAKER_01

In person, that's what I said, Folsom Prison Blues. Because they because they're getting arrested and in like get yeah, you to make sure that's what I'm saying. No, because that's the one where Dean is in the thing and the guy he walks in and he doesn't recognize and he's like, Oh, I didn't think you'd get here so fast. That's right. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I forgot that. Okay. Uh final question. Season two of Supernatural had a roadhouse setting for part of the episodes. How many episodes included the Roadhouse? Three, six, nine, or twelve?

SPEAKER_01

Nine. It's gotta be nine.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna have done so bad.

SPEAKER_03

Submit my answers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, how bad did I just do?

SPEAKER_03

You were wrong on question one, and I remember this because he is the stupid one. It wasn't John Bottom, it was when he's Elroy McGillicuddy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay. I and I should have gone with that. But that feels like a Dean thing. That feels like a dumbass Dean alias.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. John Winchester did not die at 2.15. He died at 1041 a.m. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, fuck me.

SPEAKER_03

There were nine episodes, not six, that included one or more ghosts. It was weekly world news, not world weekly news.

SPEAKER_01

But you but I did get the thing right about him messing it up.

SPEAKER_03

You did.

SPEAKER_01

And I just went with the wheel.

SPEAKER_03

Dean first said world weekly news before Sam prompted him and he corrected himself. Yeah. You answered correctly that there are at least there are six episodes that have an appearance of at least one demon. So good job.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You're correct that he did bury John's dog tags and children should have played with dead things.

SPEAKER_01

Easy one.

SPEAKER_03

You were correct that there were four episodes that have an appearance by psychic kids other than Sam.

SPEAKER_01

I know how to count.

SPEAKER_03

You answered correctly on yes, there was an episode with a gin. You our answer was correct on location that was not in this season, which was Cornwall, Connecticut and Buffalo, New York. He answered correctly that they had to evade the SWAT team in Night Shifter.

SPEAKER_01

I'm a genius.

SPEAKER_03

You were correct that that line is from Houses of the Holy.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really? Because I could have sworn that was the one where he's like, I think she broke my hand.

SPEAKER_03

Jared injured his hand when filming the scene where a vampire knocks him out with a phone in the hotel room in bloodlust. The writers then wrote it into the next episode have Sam say the zombie had broken his hand at the end of Children's.

SPEAKER_01

That dude's clumsy ass because I think there's like three separate times he's in a sling or having to have something.

SPEAKER_03

That's so funny. Um you were correct that Sam won Rock, Paper, Scissors.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You were correct that they made they met Agent Henderson in person in Folsom Prison Blues. And we were incorrect. There were six episodes that included the Roadhouse, not nine.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man.

SPEAKER_03

So you got nine out of fifteen.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, that's fine. I did fine.

SPEAKER_03

You did fine.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, what's what's the next one?

SPEAKER_03

Let's see if you can survive an episode of Supernatural, shall we?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we shall.

SPEAKER_03

Why are you with the Winchesters today? I met them on the road and decided to join them. I reached out to them. I need help with a demon. I've been following them for weeks. Or I knew Sam growing up and just had to see him.

SPEAKER_01

So I wait, so I'm answering You're answering.

SPEAKER_03

Why why why are you with the Winchester today?

SPEAKER_01

I'm calling, dude. The second anything goes wrong, I'm like, hey, Sam Hate. Please. Okay. Yeah, I'm smart enough to know I need help.

SPEAKER_03

What song is playing in Dean's Chevy and Paul when you get in? Heat of the Moment.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Back in Black by AC DC. Yeah. Eye of the Tiger. Some kind of Monster by Metallica, Carry On Wayward Sun, or House of the Rising Sun by the Animals.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like the coolest. Wait, read the first couple again.

SPEAKER_03

Heat of the Moment, Back and Black, Eye of the Tiger.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like the coolest when he rolls up, back and black.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's gotta be that's that's the Impala's theme song.

SPEAKER_03

It is. Okay. What type of demon are you and the brothers hunting? Okay. White-eyed demon, black-eyed demon, crossroad demon, the princes of hell.

SPEAKER_01

I want to take out the black-eyed demons so bad. I don't want to fight any of the knights of hell or whatever.

SPEAKER_03

Which technically they're using a picture of the yellow-eyed demon, and that is correct. He was one of those. So I guess it's something we kind of know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't want to fuck with any of that. No.

SPEAKER_03

What is the name of the motel you guys are staying in?

SPEAKER_01

Ooh.

SPEAKER_03

Hotel King's Lair. Mike's Travel In, Sleep Easy Motel, or the Wagon Trail Motel.

SPEAKER_01

Uh the first one, Hotel Hotel King's Lair. That's awesome. I want to stay there. Night themed hotel, seemingly.

SPEAKER_03

Where did you track the demon to? A farm in the middle of nowhere, a heavily populated city, Sam and Dean's childhood home, or a suburban community?

SPEAKER_01

I mean Heavily well, the suburban community.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

We're doing a little breaking and entering to beat this guy. You love breaking and entering. Yeah, I'm always gonna be able to do that.

SPEAKER_03

What's your weapon of choice? Holy water, salt, the cult, or the first blade? That's a spoiler for later, but don't worry about it, guys. I I'm I'm a I'm I'm gonna go with the cult. He loves that cult.

SPEAKER_01

That cult is cool.

SPEAKER_03

It's called Okay. You corner the demon inside. Which symbol do you paint on the wall when you walk in? Devil's trap? Horn of Gabriel.

SPEAKER_01

Devil's trap. Just ignore Devil's Trap.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, I didn't finish. Vanishing signal. I don't paint one, I have an anti-possession tattoo.

SPEAKER_01

Even if I have an anti-possession tattoo, I need a devil's trap to lock him down.

SPEAKER_03

Correct. Okay. Despite your best efforts, you've knocked unconscious. Which ghost of supernatural's past are you ri are you visited by?

SPEAKER_01

Ooh.

SPEAKER_03

Bobby, Gabriel, young Mary Winchester, Charlie, Bella, or John Winchester?

SPEAKER_01

Bobby, bro. I want Bobby to come call me an idiot and get back up. Tell me to get back up.

SPEAKER_03

When you eventually wake up, which classic supernatural line do you utter? Hello, Dean. Pudding, son of a bitch. I hope that's paint.

SPEAKER_01

Son of a bitch. Yeah. I'd just be like, son of a bitch.

SPEAKER_03

The demon possessed your body without the Winchesters knowing it. It's your answer. While Sam and Dean were distracted helping Castille, the demon possessed you without you them realizing. Just as the boys start to trust you, the demon really unleash holy hell that ultimately cultivates in an emotional season finale episode in which you sacrifice yourself.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, wait, but if I'm sacrificing myself on an episode of Supernatural, that's the coolest thing that's ever happened.

SPEAKER_03

That's pretty much what you want.

SPEAKER_01

That's dope. That's the dream, actually. That's pretty much what you want. Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well, do you want to do um no? That one's gonna be spoiled. These this first question right here, that's a spoiler. We're not gonna be able to do this. Some summer fake and some are real ones. Okay. Let's do a season one one.

SPEAKER_01

A season one trivia? Yeah. Oh god.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. This is going to be quotes from season one. In what episode was That Better Be You, Sam, and not that Freak of Nature said Dead Man's Blood, Bugs, Skin, or Wendigo?

SPEAKER_01

Skin.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. That's what I think too. Who said, I hope your apple pie is freaking worth it? I'm not even giving you the answers. You know this one.

SPEAKER_01

It's Dean. It's Dean. That's one of the best lines.

SPEAKER_03

Dean said, I'm the one who put the dead fish in their backseat. True or false?

SPEAKER_01

That's Sam. Because I think Dean calls um Dean pretends to be the LA guy and Sam puts the dead fish in their backseat.

SPEAKER_03

We'll do false.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And we had a really good chat, sort of like this. Then I slit his throat and ripped his heart out through his chest. Does that make me a bad person? Who said this? Dean, the demon, John, or Meg?

SPEAKER_00

Meg.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. My queen. So you got sidelined by a 13-year-old girl, huh? Was said in which episode? The Benders? Pilot? The Devil's Trap? Or this was never said.

SPEAKER_01

This was never said. I don't think that was said. You think it was said?

SPEAKER_03

I think it might be the Benders. Because there's the little girl.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. But the little girl doesn't sideline him.

SPEAKER_03

It's the Oh, that's right. But she calls out, doesn't she?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

What do you want to say?

SPEAKER_01

I'm going to say it wasn't said.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'm probably wrong. I know I'm wrong, but I'm going to say it wasn't said. Make fun of me in the comments.

SPEAKER_03

Which of these quotes is from Wendigo? I don't do shorts. House Rules, Sammy, Driver picks the music, shotgun streets cake. Aw, come on, that can't be natural. And when someone says a place is haunted, don't go in.

SPEAKER_01

Uh read the first first ones again.

SPEAKER_03

I don't do shorts.

SPEAKER_01

It's that one. Yeah. I don't do shorts.

SPEAKER_03

Sweetheart, I don't do shorts.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

In the episode Nightmare, Sam and Dean are dressed up as priests. Was this has got to be a whole new low for us said by Dean?

SPEAKER_01

No, it was said by Sam. False. That's that's Sam.

SPEAKER_03

Correct. Okay. Which of these has Sam said? Besides a whole new level of frustration? No. Rule number one, we do what we do and we shut up about it.

SPEAKER_01

Sam, that's Sam. Sam said that.

SPEAKER_03

Wait. Apparently he was experimenting on his patience. Some awful stuff makes lobotomies look like a couple of aspirin. Or none of these.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like he said the third one too, but it's it's I know for a fact he said the second one. Okay. So what was the second line again?

SPEAKER_03

Rule number one, we do what we do when we shut up about it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Unless that's unless that's some bullshit like semantics thing. Because the line I think is technically closer to like our number one family rules, we do what we do when we shut up about it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Well, for one, they're cassette tapes. And two, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Metallica. It's the greatest hits of mullet rock. Did Sam say this?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, of course Sam said that. So that's in the pilot.

SPEAKER_03

It is. Episode of television I've seen probably 20 times.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

In Devil's Trap, Meg is being exercised. She says, An exorcism. Are you serious? Did John reply, Oh, we're going for it, baby. Head spinning, projectile vomiting, the whole nine yards.

SPEAKER_01

Did John say it? No, John didn't say that. It was Dean.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, correct. Okay. Let's submit your answers, honey.

SPEAKER_01

Submit my answers.

SPEAKER_03

You were correct. That better be you, Sam, and not that Freak of Nature was from skin.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Dean did say, I hope your apple pie is freaking worth it. Oh my god, no, we flipped it. In Hellhouse, Dean was the one who put the dead fish in their backseat, and Sam called pretending to be the producer.

SPEAKER_01

That's right, because I was thinking it's like, oh, there's one that feels more childish, and I thought they had flopped it, where like Sam did the really childish thing and Dean did the really clever thing, but no, it was the it was in line with their characters.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so you were correct. Obviously, Meg said that whole line about slitting throats because who else would it be? Um you said this line was never said, but I was correct. The correct answer was the benders. Um Sam said this after being freed by Dean and said, So you got sidelined by a 13-year-old girl. I knew it.

SPEAKER_01

I knew it.

SPEAKER_03

I should have I don't do shorts as the correct quote from Wendigo. Yeah. Um correct, it was Sam who said this has got to be a whole new low for us in nine years, because Sam has a lot of issues addressing as a priest. Um it was correct. Uh Sam did say rule number one, we do what we do, and shut up about it. That is from Route 666. Um obviously that was true that Sam said that about Mullet Rock. Um, and then correct, um, John was not there, and John did not say, Oh, we're going for a baby head spinning nine yards. So you got eight out of ten.

SPEAKER_01

There was, see, I didn't do bad there.

SPEAKER_03

Good job. You want to do one more?

SPEAKER_01

We got time for one more.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Let's do ten questions about supernatural season one. This is gonna be stupid easy. Who plays Dean Winchester?

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

One of the answers is Johnny Depp.

SPEAKER_01

Chris Evans, Jensen Accles, baby.

SPEAKER_03

Who plays Sam Winchester?

SPEAKER_01

Jared Pelalecki, baby.

SPEAKER_03

Who plays John Winchester?

SPEAKER_01

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, baby.

SPEAKER_03

And which episode did Sam get kidnapped? The Benders, Bloody Mary, Hunted, or Scarecrow?

SPEAKER_01

The Benders. Yes. I did the thing in my brain where I fictionalized a version where it was the other way around.

SPEAKER_03

Where it was the other way around, where you're keeping like, I thought Dean was the whole episode.

SPEAKER_01

Go listen to our episode about the Benders, you'll hear me talk about that.

SPEAKER_03

Why did Sam and Dean go on hunting trips to find their dad and the thing that killed their mom to just kill something to get out of the house? Or Dean wanted Sam not to go to college.

SPEAKER_01

That's episode by episode, baby, because all of them are true. No, it's to find their dad.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

But anyway, all of those are technically true at one point or another.

SPEAKER_03

Like Oh my god, here's the throwback. In Hellhouse, who put the dead fish in the two men's back seat?

SPEAKER_01

Dean.

SPEAKER_03

Dean.

SPEAKER_01

Dean did that. What if I got it wrong again? That would be crazy. That would be amazing.

SPEAKER_03

Dean knew everything about Jessica's death. No. No. False. Dean and Sam's mom. I hate when they say Dean and Sam.

SPEAKER_01

It's not wrong. Yeah, it's Sam and Dean.

SPEAKER_03

Sam and Dean's mom died in a house fire on the first floor. No, second floor.

SPEAKER_01

Try to trick me up with the thing that's haunted me my whole life.

SPEAKER_03

Dean likes rats, true or false.

SPEAKER_01

Rats?

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. I know. I'm like, what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_01

Does he have an issue with rats? I mean, I would say no. He doesn't like rats, but he doesn't have like a thing with rats.

SPEAKER_03

No, I don't think so. John Winchester died in the end of the first season, true or false.

SPEAKER_01

He did not. He died at the beginning of season two. Because I'm smart.

SPEAKER_03

Imagine if we missed any of these. These were like stupid easy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, what'd I go? 10 for 10 right there?

SPEAKER_03

You did go 10 for 10. Perfect score.

SPEAKER_01

Is there another one we can do? That was too fast.

SPEAKER_03

That was too fast. Okay. Well, okay. Do we want to do some of these supernatural plots are real and some are fake?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's try it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Castile confesses his love for Dean and immediately gets sent to hell. Real or fake?

SPEAKER_01

I know I haven't seen that, but I know it's true, so it's it's real.

SPEAKER_03

Super hell. You remember Super Hell. An angel does pet play with the king of hell.

SPEAKER_01

True?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Real. Supernatural gets weird.

SPEAKER_03

Supernatural gets weird. Sam and Dean get trapped in a TV universe where Dean is attracted to a hotmail doctor.

SPEAKER_01

That is true.

SPEAKER_03

I can't wait for that episode.

SPEAKER_01

I genuinely love that episode.

SPEAKER_03

Sam and Dean have a secret brother and they leave him in hell for ten seasons.

SPEAKER_01

That is true.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. We'll put a big ol' spoiler warning before this quiz.

SPEAKER_01

No, we won't.

SPEAKER_03

Fair. Dean accidentally sleeps with a monster twice in the same episode.

SPEAKER_00

False?

SPEAKER_03

Correct. It goes, I'm actually surprised this didn't happen at least once.

SPEAKER_01

I know. Unbelievable.

SPEAKER_03

Dean has a secret daughter who he ends up killing.

SPEAKER_01

False?

SPEAKER_03

You want to say false?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I didn't get to that. I don't remember that at all.

SPEAKER_03

Season seven, episode 13.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so I did get to that and don't remember that.

SPEAKER_03

I remember that episode and it's a bummer.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Dean go and Sam go, why do they keep saying Dean and Sam? That's not his name. Uh-huh. Sam and Dean go to a universe where supernatural is a show and Misha Collins is killed.

SPEAKER_01

That's true. I really like I personally remember. I personally really like that episode.

SPEAKER_03

Sam and Dean have to go to hell to rescue their dad, but he loves it there. True or false?

SPEAKER_00

False.

SPEAKER_03

Correct. Dean goes to make a deal with Snooky the Demon, played by Snooky.

SPEAKER_00

True.

SPEAKER_03

True. My goat. Snooks. Okay, one more. Let's do one more. Okay. A wax museum comes to life and Dean and Sam fight Tom Hanks. True or false?

SPEAKER_01

No, they fight um Paris Hilton, right?

SPEAKER_03

It was actually Gandhi and Paris Hilton, yes. You got nine out of ten correct, honey.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, I'll take that.

SPEAKER_03

Good work.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Good work. Some good quizzes here, some bad quizzes here, some easy. I did okay on some, great on others.

SPEAKER_03

And you know what? You were still Dean Winchester.

SPEAKER_01

And they're gonna remember me for the ones I did great on, right, guys? That's what the internet's known for. Uh that's what the supernatural fandom's known for.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Uh cool. This was super fun. Um

What to watch for next week

SPEAKER_01

coming up, yeah. We have you know, you have uh two weeks, so you have not this coming Monday, but the Monday after will be the launch of season three of Be Afraid of the Dark with season. See, and it is true. Um we're very excited about the season. We've been in production on it, and it's gonna be great. And uh we love the show. Yeah. And we love the season. It's a shorter season. It is, but it's one of the best, which is crazy considering it was during the writer's writer strikes. Considering it's during the writer strike and it's as good as it is, is actually kind of crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Which is another thing you can say about breaking bed.

SPEAKER_01

Which is another thing you can say about breaking bed.

SPEAKER_03

It all comes around.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um why it was Walter White never on supernatural.

SPEAKER_01

I know. I agree. Why weren't they buying uh blue meth from Walter White to throw it? You told me Dean's never done meth. Oh, Dean's done meth. Well, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway. Next special episode, we guess what drugs Dean has done. Yeah, yeah. And then we get Jensen Eccles on the phone to confirm or do that.

SPEAKER_01

Jensen, he's like, who are you guys? Whatever. Anyway, uh, so yeah, you have two weeks to watch that episode of TV. Um, thank you for listening to this these special episodes and being patient with us on this uh off month. Uh, it helps us stay motivated and excited to do this podcast. But anyway, between now and two weeks from now, at the launch of season three of Be Afraid of the Dark, you know what you have to do. You gotta hit the road, you gotta get your journal, you gotta watch some TV, but remember, you know what's out there. Be afraid of the dark.
