How are you today?

I'm good. How are you, Mitch?

I'm doing well. I really appreciate you being on. We were talking, and I was like, last night, and I was like, you know what? We're just going to have to do multiple segments. because there is so much information that I'm getting from you. So we finally nailed what we'll talk about on this first episode, which is basically like, because I'm new to this, basically. I stopped going in December of 2024, and I became aware of the online Ex-Jehovah's Witness world like late May, early June. I was talking with you. And you were shedding light on just the movement and how it started and before we started doing video and Zoom and so forth. First of all, though, when did you get baptized as a Jehovah's Witness?

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I got baptized twice because the first time I got baptized, it was right after... The demonized Smurf incident in 1982, I was 10. But then they were like, oh, that was too young and it was too stupid. So then they made me do it a second time because it was, it was really stupid. Like they thought it was going to make me undemonized by baptizing me real quick. And so once a 10 and another at 13.

SPEAKER_01:

You were undemonized in three years.

SPEAKER_00:

yeah i got re-demonized then i had to do it again baptized me a third time so yeah it was real stupid but yeah

SPEAKER_01:

wow i say that a lot when we talk just like wow i'm just surprised now

SPEAKER_00:

Only in the Jehovah's Witnesses. We used to say that all the time. Only in the Jehovah's Witnesses is there anything that stupid. Like when I try and explain it to a normal person, like a normie, they don't get it. They're like, what? Yeah. You know.

SPEAKER_01:

Sometimes you'll answer me and I just kind of stare at my phone for a while, like trying to make sense of it.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, the witnesses is messed up. It's like, you've got no clue. And then they think I'm crazy. I'm like, no, it's not me. It's them. I'm just explaining. I'm not crazy. I'm explaining them. You know, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

So now you all see why I said it would have to take multiple segments.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

To just dive into everything that she wants to say. So, okay. So you say early 80s?

SPEAKER_00:

yeah 82 and then whatever 85 okay yeah like something yeah 10 oh at 10 yeah 10 like in 82 and then again at 85. okay i don't even remember or care but

SPEAKER_01:

and so then when did you stop

SPEAKER_00:

um i was ne i never was a real true believer You know, I was never allowed to. My behavior, being called demonized smurf girl since I was, you know, 10 years old, it was impossible for me to fit in. And so I would just be a secret apostate all the time.

SPEAKER_01:

Ah, got you.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay. And then I'd leave and come back. I was afraid of being shunned. Mm-hmm.

UNKNOWN:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

You know, I was just always afraid of being shunned, and so I would be forced to come back, and then I would have to re-prove to my mom and stepdad, Arden Hansen. I would always, you know, I'd be like, fine, you know, you won't let mom talk to me. I'll prove to you that I won't fit in. Like, do you think I'd fit in at the Kingdom Hall? Like, you know, I can't. Like, I'd go walking in, you know, hey, brothers. You know, I'd give them a talk on the stage. Please. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

even them saying, oh, I've raised my hand, and they'd be like, Sister Bundy? Sister Bundy, would you like to come in? Oh, yeah, you know? Jehovah's going to destroy people for Armageddon, you know that, you know? He's going to peck out your eyes with a bird, you know? Like, you know, burnt hot dogs, just like Uncle Tony. We

SPEAKER_01:

used... some mean stuff and so what when did you become a vocal apostate like just left and and you know you spoke against it when was that

SPEAKER_00:

uh well the first time was when i was 10 and then they got me they get me under control you know

SPEAKER_01:

and

then uh um i then at 16 i got married and so then i got out for a little bit got divorced at 19, had to go back again, because I moved in with mom and me and my stepdad again. And then had to go back, then got married again, back and forth, back and forth. And

SPEAKER_01:

would always be then pulling a stunt, always. I'm like a stunt maker, pulling some kind of stunt. And I would come back just long enough so that I could pull a stunt or try and get my friends out, like seeing somebody or going to the memorial, going to the assembly, then trying to make them worldly. Did

you ever get anyone to listen to you and leave?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. Oh yeah, I got a lot of people to leave. There's a lot. i'm getting notifications by the way is that messing with my video no

so when did you because you were just telling me about uh you know how you all would communicate and everything so how were you meeting other ex-jehovah's witnesses before all this digital age

SPEAKER_00:

um i would sneak outside the assembly and talk to the apostates you know and and oh and well and my stepdad would work the help desk at the assembly so we would be up by the escalator where the help desk is and i would sneak and i'd say i'm just gonna go for a walk my back hurts you know and then i go talk to the apostates there was this one he's he's an apostate online He wore this straw hat all the time and was like the original apostate in Tucson. And I would go and sneak out and say hi to him. And sometimes I'd go across the picket line and I'd be like, yeah, you're all stupid. And then my stepdad would come out of the help desk. He'd be like, what are you doing? I'm like, I'm just having some fun. Because they couldn't kick me out because, you know, dad... was doing it you know dad was at the help desk and it was like it was a precarious situation it's like what i'm demonized what are you gonna say what are you gonna do they were in that whole 80s of my whole teenage years there wasn't anything they could do so then it became an urban legend because i was just a stunt maker and

SPEAKER_01:

when did you so why did you just say i'm done with it all and like just stop going and pretending. When did you stop pretending?

SPEAKER_00:

When my mom died. She died in 2014. And I was like, I wasn't told, I was told a bunch of lies of why she died.

SPEAKER_01:

And

I wasn't allowed to say goodbye. And so I'm like, I think my stepdad did something. He did something regardless. He should not have done that to me. You don't do that to me. And so I'm like, okay, all bets are off. Mom's gone. You're my stepdad. My real dad's gone. Nothing's holding me in or holding me back anymore. You don't do that to me. You don't do that to mom. And I'm done. And so I was like, I am going to get uncle Tony Morris and everybody kicked off the governing body no matter what. Like I was just done. And also I looked online cause I wanted to, I was looking online about some stuff. Cause I started to talk to him again and accidentally came across a bunch of apostate stuff. okay um things that i hadn't seen in a long time i'm trying to think of what the first thing is that i saw more than likely it was russell's pyramid

SPEAKER_01:

then i was like he gave me my all he gave me was my mom's bible her jehovah's witness

SPEAKER_01:

And I'm like, oh, and that made me mad. You're going to give me a stupid with all the little notes in the margins, the big one? Yeah, yeah. I'm like, this is what I get? Well, I'm going to use this sucker with all of mom's notes in it with, you know, watchtower this and all her notes. I'm like, I'm going to use this Bible against them, and I did. So they

SPEAKER_01:

didn't tell you because you were shunned? So they didn't tell you about your mom passing? Yeah. Oh, man, that's rough.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. Well, and it was personal. Like, it was straight up personal. Because mom was turning apostate. I already had left. But things happened. My uncle Morris Hanson went to prison in 2012. And that was because of me and other things. He re-offended me. And so him going to prison and getting life, and then mom started to wake up, and he didn't want me talking to her. And so– and she kept– well, she kept calling and saying, I only have a second to talk to you. I need you to look at jwfacts.com.

I'm like– what is that but it was real short it was from 2012 to 2014 and then all of a sudden she was dead and i was like what happened oh and then i was like well what is this jw fax she was talking about i thought it was fax like a fax you know oh yeah and then i saw what it was and i'm like god some jehovah's witness you know like i don't know like what is this you know, JW facts. I don't, there's no facts about JWs. And then I'm like, oh, it's apostate. Like it dawned on me, mom's looking at apostate stuff and that she was like some kind of a, like a secret apostate, like a deep throat. And I was like, my mom was a deep throat. So I'm like, I want to be a deep throat. I'm going to be the deepest

SPEAKER_01:

throat. No, I'm sorry. i think i think i think we got the different meanings of deep throat explain it what are you what are you talking about

SPEAKER_00:

uh So all these years, I could have just been saying I was fine. Okay.

Yeah. And so anyway, yeah. So I just kind of took over where my mom, where I thought my mom left off.

And then so I saw like six screens of the watchtower. All these days I saw Kim and Mikey. I recognized them. I was like, you know, I know those people. I recognized like Gilbert Gonzalez, people from Tucson, from the Tucson Assemblies. And I was like, oh, wow, there's a lot of Tucson Assembly people here. And so then, you know, joined forces with them. Now,

SPEAKER_01:

real quick, because I didn't know what it was. Can you explain what the six screens is in case any listeners don't? like me didn't know

SPEAKER_00:

it's similar to this but at first it was just on the phone like phone like a it's like a rate it was like a radio call-in kind of thing okay where you called in now it's kind of like video now it's like this but before it was just a ring you know voices radio call-in was like five phone lines And that

SPEAKER_01:

surprised you when you saw it was more ex Jehovah's Witnesses. Were you surprised?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. Oh yeah. I, oh man, I'm gonna take myself back to that moment. And especially when I saw people that I knew, I was like, that's Gilbert, you know, that's good. That's like, you know, that said, that's that Gilbert guy from the assemblies, you know, that's Kim and Mikey. and like people that i didn't even remember their name and i was like oh you know oh and you once you meet rick fearing you never forget them and so i was like i'm gonna join in on this because these are peop people and the straw hat guy that was outside the assembly when i was a teenager he was on youtube i'm like that's too funny And so, yeah, I just started joining in with all the Tucson people and then everybody else from all over. And we networked a lot. That was the one good thing. We networked a lot.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

But it was real. Even just 10 years ago, it was rudimentary. Okay. You know, like call-in shows like this with just like five phone lines, that getting five people to even join in was difficult.

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

People

didn't want to show their, oh, 10 years. That's not even 10 years, like 2017, 2017. Most people didn't even want to share their name, let alone show their face. Most, there was only like Lloyd Evans would show his face. Kim and Mikey would show their face. You know, some other, I didn't want to show my face. A lot of people didn't want to show their own face. So even just showing your face is a big deal.

SPEAKER_01:

Tell me about that. Why didn't you want to show your face yet? At that time, why didn't you want to show your face?

SPEAKER_00:

Because of my family, like the rest of them.

SPEAKER_01:

It would cause trouble.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, and it was fear. Yeah. Well, and I wanted to spy. Like, you know, I wanted to spy. And also, I didn't feel good at the time. So it was like I was in a real precarious spot. And my stepdad didn't know. And I didn't want him to know. Even though I think from the get-go it was obvious. You know, like when you hear your own, you know, you know it's them. Especially when I was... But, oh, see, well, I forget the obvious. One of the reasons I didn't want my Uncle Brent to flip out. I always called my Uncle Brent Hanson my serial killer Uncle Brent. I didn't want serial killer Uncle Brent to go baseball bat machete, because I know him more than anybody. And I was like, Uncle Brent's going to go nuts. I was like, I don't want Uncle Brent to snap. He's going to snap. And he did snap. And that was so public, man. Him snapping with a baseball bat and machete on Jehovah's Witness family members. It doesn't get any more brutal than that. It was shocking where it was like people are like, is she kidding or is she serious? I'm like, oh, no, I'm dead serious.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, I can see why you were trying to keep it quiet then.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, because I mean, he was just, you know, it's like, what is she saying? What is she this mad? Is she talking about me? And he just, you know, it's like, yeah, I'm talking about you. I'm talking about you. I'm talking about Uncle Clyde. I'm talking about, you know. So

SPEAKER_01:

when you you mentioned J.W. Fax. What? Because I use that a lot. when I was discovering, because I was in that organization for over 50 years and there was just a lot I didn't know. And so was it anything in particular on that website that caught your eye to make you start thinking?

SPEAKER_00:

For me personally, there wasn't anything on there that I didn't already know. I used it as a tool to find the stuff that I already knew about. Like, it's really good for, you know, the old publications, because the old publications are all scanned. And so knowing I need this old publication of this picture, this page, I know that they're, and then perusing through and then, you know, reading those old publications for myself and then using them for my videos of my research. And you see, you missed out on my old channel. Oh, you would have loved my old channel. We started cart crashing, Kingdom Hall crashing. That's all new. That stuff is new. Since 2017, I remember the first Kingdom Hall crash. The first real official and the first cart crash. When we started calling them cart crashes.

SPEAKER_01:

How many would go into a Kingdom Hall?

SPEAKER_00:

Well, the first one was like Tony Prime went to the memorial and he toasted with wine and he's like, this is for all the, you know, and do it. And it was like Tony Prime. That was amazing. That was amazing. And then people went to Warwick and it's like, do a Kingdom Hall crash like Tony Prime. And a group went for Warwick. And then we did one here in Tucson, like six or seven of us did one here in Tucson.

SPEAKER_01:

How did they react? Did they try to go all out? They try to push you all out real fast.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, yeah. But it was monumental. It was monumental. It was more monumental than we know yet. Because arrests happened. The Kingdom Hall crash we did, arrests happened.

SPEAKER_01:

Now, what about the carts? You said for... The witness cards, what would you all do at the witness cards?

SPEAKER_00:

I know, I love it. What? You all

SPEAKER_01:

would just go bother the witnesses at the cart.

SPEAKER_00:

Yep. Zeb Leatherman was the first one that took his phone and went to a cart and started harassing them you know or doing what you know bugging them asking them questions to do it to be funny and it was like you know that's actually a good idea we even had to like in 2017 we didn't even know how to secretly really record anything we think just within what is that like the last eight years we figured out how to use our cell phones how to put them so that we could record and do at the same exact time of how to record a cart and talk to them and record it at the same time. Even how to upload things. We've had to figure out so many different things over the last eight years. Recording judicials. Recording the elders. I've

SPEAKER_01:

seen a couple of those where it was in a judicial meeting, I've seen them where someone was questioning an elder about some doctrine, like secret recording, you know?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I'm a huge secret recorder. I've got some of my secret recordings still, but my old channel got taken down, but I saved some of it. I'll have to... It's on my Patreon, but then my Patreon got taken down because the family got mad. Well, the elders that I recorded found out about it.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, you know they don't like that kind of stuff.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, they hate it. Yeah.

And so now where we're at now as an Ex-Jobless Witness community and everything we have at our disposal, how do you feel about that? How vocal we can be? How does that make you feel?

SPEAKER_00:

So proud to be a part of the grassroots of like this, having video of you and me on video in 2017, we did not know how to do it. The only one that really knew how to kind of do it, starting to do it was Lloyd Evans. And I remember all of us thinking, well, how does Lloyd do that? I want to do it. And then seeing, you know, Rick Fearon figure it out, and then I'm figuring it out. And then during COVID, figuring it out, we're, oh, we didn't even know what Zoom was. So, like, I want to say to the witnesses, I'm going to say this to the witnesses. You doing Zoom for the meetings, that was so useful to us apostates. Like, ooh, you know, let's have an apostate meeting. You know, let's do this. That

SPEAKER_01:

was key. So

SPEAKER_00:

I remember when I came across your page. I was afraid. I was like, ah, but I kept looking at your post. I kept looking at your post and you know, I was like, I followed you and then the things you were posting, they were very interesting. Yeah. You tell a lot of history and all that shit. You know

when i was a boy i will never forget when i was a boy and uh living in chicago in the circuit assembly and they had There was a talk on there, and they were talking about Smurfs and why we shouldn't have them. Oh, yeah? Scared the shit out of me.

i know the last oh see you woke up when i started like just letting it rip I was never like this before. I was real tame and I was real sweet and like I was playing nice for the longest time I played nice. I don't play nice anymore. I'm a different person.

You don't. I can't even imagine you being all nice and sweet.

oh yeah i was like hey it's me smurf girl how's it going you know and then i do videos of showing watchtowers and doing and explaining and doctrine that's then i'd go to the cart and i'd be like you know i'd ask him about 1914 and 607 I started real small, like real small. Well, I'd secretly record my stepdad and post him on the internet.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, my goodness. That's weird that you started out nice.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh.

SPEAKER_01:

I didn't mean it to sound like that. I didn't mean to sound like that. But you're still a nice person. Let me get that out there.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I started out real nice. And then, well, once Uncle Brent snapped... Once Uncle Brent snapped, I was like, okay, I'm not going to be nice anymore. You know, like, nice. Where it's like, I can't... For one, I can't be nice where it's like... The whole time when I'm like, you know, my uncle is kind of a nut job and my abuse, blah, blah, blah. And they're like, where's your second witness? Where's your second witness? And I'm like, oh, I need a second. Demonize Smart Girl needs a second witness. Oh, there'll be second witnesses. All right. And so now there's way more than second witnesses. You know, the whole Internet saw it. And, you know, everybody in the community was like in shock, you know, and it's like, yeah, he lost his mind. He chopped my Aunt Jessica 144 times with a machete being nine months pregnant. Like, as I'm a YouTuber, you know, as I'm going on six screens and talking about the family anonymously, then I'm like, oh, God, everybody, guess what? My abuser just went crazy. You know, and I've gone on the Silent No More program. And I remember sitting on the program thinking, I can't even talk about this because I know that if he sees me on this program on TV, because I did the Silent No More before Uncle Brent snapped.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

Like a couple years before, like 2019 or so.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00:

And thinking... he's gonna freak out when he sees this so i just sat there and i didn't say anything but just having my face on there made two of my abusers uncle brandon and uncle clyde go nuts

SPEAKER_01:

how did that because you you touched on it and i always ask my guests like that to to witness rule crap how did that make you feel like it infuriates me

SPEAKER_00:

well what's really awful is that you'll go to an elder like i would go to an elder that i know knew what i was talking about like the elders are the second witnesses

SPEAKER_01:

yeah

SPEAKER_00:

You know, you go and say, hey, brother, you know, when I was abused, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they're a witness to it. And then they will ask you for another witness. And it's like, but brother, you saw and you know, you got the judicial file. You are one of my witnesses. I'm coming to you saying you are my second witness. I got a, you're a witness and this guy did it. And now I've got to bring somebody else. The elders are the second witnesses. And they're just too stupid, evil, you know, just awful that they can't even see that. And it's like, for me, it's like, oh, you want, and when they said that, that's another reason why I went online. Because I was like, I Googled, you know, demonized Smurf girl. And lo and behold, all these, you know, hundreds of people making videos about it, talking about me. So I'm like, hey, there's my bunches of second witnesses. Look at all these people that heard about my abuse. And, you know, I went from there. Well, I went from there to establish myself as Demonized Smurf Girl. Like, oh, no. Not only am I going to tell you I'm Demonized Smurf Girl, I'm going to show you. And I'm going to show you exactly where, you know, it's going to be. What's happened recently with Uncle Brent snapping and everything is exactly what happened in 1982 to cause it in the first place. Like, this is just like, you know, Demonized Smurf Act 2. You know, like part two, like a sequel. It's like, okay, we'll do a sequel if that's what you want, you know.

Yeah. So nothing ever happened to them through the congregation? The ones you were accusing of abuse, nothing happened to them through the congregation?

SPEAKER_00:

oh no no no not at all in fact they've re-offended several times and then um slowly one by one after re-offending sometimes they would get arrested by re-offending worldly kids Like with my uncle Morris Hanson, he reoffended three worldly kids. And so I was able to catch him in 2012 through that, like 2000, I think maybe 2010 or 2012 is when I caught him and others. And there were other people like just the people connected to the demonized Smurf incident. They were dying. They were being murdered one by one going missing. You know, this guy John La Puma went missing, this, you know, boating accident, this thing, that thing. My second witnesses started to disappear in weird ways. And I'm like, huh, you know, that's interesting. Like somebody that I would go, like when I had said, you know, I was abused. And when the brother said, where's your second witness? And then I went to go get them. And as I go to them, when I'm trying to find John LaPuma, like brother John LaPuma, and as I'm trying to find brother LaPuma, then I find out that his body is missing at sea. Or I went to Randy Howard, and all of these various second witnesses that I went to start to die in weird ways. And I was like, well, this is quite serious, you know, like that, you know, I was trying to get a hold of all my second witnesses. And when I would start to get a hold of my second witnesses to do like a lawsuit, things were ending up happening to those second witnesses. And so to the rest of my second witnesses, which means everybody in Breckenridge, Minnesota, Ortonville, Minnesota, and all of Tucson, Arizona, and anywhere else that knows about this, you know, that stay on the lookout and keep on the watch because anybody that, you know, I've got a huge long list of second witnesses that bad things have ended up happening to them when I, you know, start to talk about it.
