Life’s been lifing. Things been busy and chaotic, but hey who’s isn’t?! Running a business, being a mom and buying a house is just the start.

We’ve been learning to do more things that fill our cup vs being a “yes man,” giving ourself grace and making big changes and planning new things with Misschif.

Thank you for still being here too!

PS it’s clearly not meant for me to have good audio so forgive for at the end because apparently my mic quit recording and I didn’t know that…

Welcome to Talkin' Mischief. Whether you're here for the hustle, the healing, or one of those holy hell same moments, you're in the right place. So let's get loud, let's get weird, and let's get into some mischief, y'all. Okay, I know I've been kind of in my day. Uh there's a lot of moving parts going on in my life. Um, I just bought a house, a lot of personal things going on. Um, there's just been a lot of shit that's been going on. But hey, welcome back to another episode of Talkin' Mischief. I know I've been doing things a little bit differently. Um, I left the dance scene, been working primarily at music, at least trying to. Uh, there's a lot of things that I want to do with mischief. And yeah, so I just want to give you guys a little bit of a life update. But we're back in the full swing of things, a lot of new projects coming up, a lot of different events coming up uh within the next year that we are working on, and I am so excited, so excited. Um yeah, this is gonna be like kind of short and kind of like all over the place because swirl brain. And I'm at my son's football practice, so I just thought I would touch base with everybody because like I said, we're gonna try again the full swing of things. Um, so started the podcast and done some artist interviews, which I still got more in the queue. Uh, but like I said, life has been happening. I have so much personal things going on. Um, and then for the last six months, I've been doing work with Nashville Palace, with scoreboard, and a few other uh businesses, and it's been the coolest thing ever. I've absolutely loved and adored doing working with them and working with Monica and Kylie have been so dope. Like, it's been some adjustments, that's for sure. They keep me on my toes. But when I tell y'all, like I love working for these companies and doing things, and it's opened my eyes a lot more to a lot of different styles and trying new things, and I love it. Anyways, that's also what's been an update with me. Uh, like I said, I bought a house a little under two acres, and I've been really enjoying the summertime with my kid. Um, he is just gonna do year 13, which is holy cow, I have a teenager, and it's been it was such a cool summer. We we really lived this summer, and let me tell you, we he learned how to ride horses, dirt biking, you know, creaking. We had we spent half over half the summer outside. I'm pretty sure the kid has more riding hours than me, which is crazy. Yeah, it'd be what it'd be though. I'm glad. I'm glad he's enjoying the hobbies that I enjoy. And now he's to the point where he uh he wants to go on trips with me, my work trips, like doing stuff um in the music industry and start learning to do photography things and arts and stuff. So if you book a shoot with me, don't be surprised if my kid comes with me. Um, if you've been kind of keeping tabs, you can see we just did a whole rebrand of the podcast. Uh, thanks to my girl Hope over at City Limit Studio. And if you ever, ever, ever have the opportunity to go over there, a thousand times recommend. Because between the motel room, the saloon, the infinity wall, the black wall that has a freaking me and a chokehold, uh, yeah, you you need to do it. But Home Girl hooked me up with my dream like branding shoot. Like I've had this vision of what I wanted. Uh the talking mischief and the brands and everything else to what it should look like or what I want it to look like. I've you know, in true nature, Pinterest thing it up, and I said, hope, this is uh, this is what I want to do, and kind of let your creative freedom and see what happens. And she knocked it out of the park. So, shout out again to my girl hope. But yeah, I am um I'm in a very trying season right now. Um with shifting my business, life and trying to shift my business all at the same time, really was like, whoa, what the fuck are we doing? And 30 being 30, I realized I can't deal with emotions the same way as I used to and just drown them and bottle them up and call it a day. And so that's why we're we're trying to figure it out. But I just want to give you a little inside scoop. I am trying to switch mischief into a complete one-stop shop for all things an independent artist needs, um, on top of you know, waiting for approval on our Mischief Revival Fund, which is a nonprofit that is to help independent artists financially, which is part of what's gonna be playing into the events and a bunch of other things. But my goal is Mischief is working towards being a one-stop shop for um independent artists, marketing, media, all the things. And I would like to start booking management, I would like to be a manager, I would like to turn Mischief work with a PR company. Like I I want to turn it into I know a dime in a dozen, but a place that works with independent artists and helping them build their careers. So I I went through this whole spiral. Some things happened that kind of put me in a frenzy. Um, it made me question my self-worth as a business owner, as a photographer. Um, and I know that there's always, no matter what you do, there's always someone better than you. And that's okay because you know you have your own style, you have your own thing, and that's just the way the cookie crumbles. But I yeah, I went on a really bad spiral of questioning myself. Um, but I'm okay. Been lacking having a creative block lately, and I'm really dying to do some more creative shoots. I don't know. Life has just been life, but we're picking it back up. We are picking it back up. Um, I'm gonna make a post about this, but one of the things that I'm really dying to do, um, I'm looking for one independent artist who is willing to be like okay and be my guinea pig. Um, like letting me help you do socials, letting me help you book, uh, do all the things that I want my business to do. And like I said, kind of just let them be my guinea pig, like and not take completely everything over. Like we would be working together side by side. But the goal is for me to learn, to figure things out, but also to help you build at the exact same time. Um, yeah. So if you're listening to this, and now that I've expressed what I want to do, if anybody has any advice, I've asked people in the industry, I've been talking to people in the industry, so it's not like I'm just like, yeah, fuck it, here we go, we ball. Um, I've been working and talking with some people in the industry, and I know it's not gonna be easy. I know what I want to do. Uh, there's a million other people out there for me, and there's a lot of shitty people out there. And yeah, I don't know. I know this whole episode I'm just rambling on, but I um yeah, and for my dancers, if you're listening to this, uh for the most part I have chosen to leave the dancing for many different reasons. Um, one, the biggest one though is for me to be able to focus on my business and focus on the things that I actually want to do that fill my cup. Because that is my biggest lesson for 2026 is doing things that fill my cup. Because I got to a really bad point of uh burning out, and I'm a yes man through and through, which has caused part of that burnout. Um there was a lot of moving parts. I just it wasn't filling my cup anymore. I am grateful for the community. Very grateful for the community and what it's done for me for the last three, four years. I mean, I've always loved being the dance being a dancer, been doing it since 2014. Um I do miss instructing. I wanna I'm not gonna lie. I I miss teaching. Been doing that since 2021 when the bars really started opening back up. But now I get just to work with artists and combined and still work with some, you know, my dance friends and I'll still be at some events, some live things happened where I couldn't go to other events, and it is what it is, out of my control. Uh which goes back into my personal shenanigans that have been going on. But dancing is not a priority to me anymore. It sucks. I don't even go dancing anymore. I honestly I think the last time I actually went dancing might have been when I had a gig at Nashville Palace and I was done with my gig, so I said screw it online dance for a little bit before I go home. Um Yeah. Definitely been an adjustment to say the least. Uh me also leaving the dance community showed a lot of who was actually my friend who was using me, who was a business transaction, who was yeah, it just that one really fucking stung. And has been stinging. And just know, if you think this is about you, it probably is. It'd be what it be. But needless to say, 2026, we're halfway through the year, which I don't know where the fuck 2026 went. If there's anything I can tell you guys, do things that fill your cup. We're not here forever. And sometimes when things don't make sense, sit back and be like, what the fuck am I doing? It's the biggest question for me for the last like year. What the fuck am I doing? I can't control this. Why am I getting worked up? Why am I getting upset? I got bigger fish to fry, I got so much shit that I could be doing, but I've been letting things just cloud my judgment. So when I get really worked up, I'm like, what the fuck am I doing? What are you doing? Like, come on, girl. Yeah. So piece of advice. Fill your cup. Oh. Give yourself grace. That is another thing that I've really, really been learning this year is to give myself grace. It's it's been hard, it's been rough. This has been a really interesting year for me. Changes good and bad. But I really just like bitch, give yourself grace. When I see people acting a fool, give them grace. Even if it doesn't make sense and I wanna, you know, go off on somebody. Nope. There's been a lot of self-working this year. But I'm done with my tangent. Thank you for still being here. Um you know an independent artist that would be willing to be my guinea pig, let me know, because let's do it. We ha set up a phone call, we do all the things, and then we go from there. Uh yeah. Thanks for still riding out and being here with me. We got some things in the works. And I can't wait to just do the damn thing. Um that's enough. Talking mischief.
