This Raw felt all over the place… and not in a good way.
Gunther and Seth Rollins are circling each other, but where’s the story? There’s no real heat, no reason to care yet. Meanwhile, Stephanie McMahon slapping Cody Rhodes came out of nowhere and completely flipped the show on its head.
But the biggest question is OBA FEMI vs Brock Lesnar… no title, no long-term story… so why does it feel like WWE wants this to be WrestleMania 42 level? Is it actually main event worthy, or are we forcing it?
These are my WWE Monday Night Raw hot takes.

Should Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar be the main event of WrestleMania 42? Should they go on last over CM Punk and Roman Reigns, over Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton? There's no title on the line, and yet people are starting to wonder should that be the main event? And we're gonna go over that today in hot takes. But first, if you want to win this belt on my shoulder, you don't have to main event WrestleMania either. All you gotta do is comment on my videos. Comment below and subscribe to the channel at 20,000 subscribers. I'm gonna give it away. So, like about 225 more subscribers. I'm giving this belt away, or any belt you pick on a live stream. People, it's not a toy, it's a replica. Let's do some hot takes. Jimbo Slice says, I mean this wholeheartedly. Oba versus Brock should main event night two, neither of the world title matches have this kind of magic in the air. This match screams WrestleMania. So what do you boys and girls think? Should it be the main event? You know, just off the top of my head, Rock and Hogan, WrestleMania 18, and Shawn Michaels Undertaker, WrestleMania 25. Those two matches were so good, got the crowd so invested and exhausted that the main event that followed suffered. And are we in that situation right now where nothing can follow Oba and Brock? So I came up with three reasons why I should, three reasons why it shouldn't. The first one being is that this feels like WrestleMania. Like of all the matches on the card, this feels like a spectacle. It feels it feels special, it feels monumentous, it feels like it can only happen at WrestleMania. CM Punk and Roman Reigns, I want to see that. I really do. I'm very much interested. But that feels like it could happen anywhere, it could happen at SummerSlam. Oba and Brock, it feels like there's only one place that this could go down, and that is WrestleMania. That's what WrestleMania is about. That's what Wrestlemania about. It's about special moments, WrestleMania moments, and this would be every time they get into the ring, just listen to the crowds. The crowd response for those two, just staring at each other, is way more, way more amped up and special than anything that we've been presented this year for WrestleMania 4-2. Why it shouldn't is because, like it or not, it's not a title match. I more often than not will say the last match should be the World Heavyweight Championship. No matter what, it should be the top title. Now, there are exceptions: Rocken Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Undertaker, but those are in hindsight. You can never, you can never really know. I remember when Undertaker and Roman Reigns went on last, actually, and I felt it should not have. But but it was a hindsight type of thing. When you see the match after the fact, you can judge it. So it's almost better to just by default never put anything that's not the title match. It's safer to do that. It's just the safe choice to put the title match last. Flip side, why should Brock Lesnar is the final boss? No, not The Rock. He's the final boss of WWE. He's been presented that way for a very long time now, especially since he beat Taker at WrestleMania 30. And here's the deal the final boss should be the final match. And this does definitely feel like a passing of the torch of the monster persona. I'm sure we're gonna get maybe one or two more matches out of Brock Lesnar, but this definitely feels like Brock is saying here, Oba Femi, you are now the monster, the guy to beat in WWE for the next 20 years. So, as the final boss of WWE, well, you know, the word final should be the the final boss, should be the final match of WrestleMania. I will say this though, when you compare Brock and Oba Femi, their storyline, it does not have as much meat on the bone as CM Punk and Roman Reigns or Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Storyline wise, history-wise, we're talking literally decades worth of backstory here. So just from a like maybe from a very, very take a couple steps back perspective, it would make more sense to give the long, rich history of those stories the payoff that is the main event of WrestleMania. Yes, right now we're all like, oh my god, we gotta have this in the main event, but will we feel that way in three or four years? You know what I mean? Oba Femi is an untested commodity. What if, what if he's red hot right this second, but in in six months, not so much. I mean, at one point, at one point, feed me more, ryeback was the was the next big thing. And thank god he didn't main event any wrestle manias. So it's like maybe we should just go with the tested and true storylines of of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns. But why we should is basically the opposite of that reason. Let's break the formula. WWE is too safe, too formulaic, too just sanitized right now. We just know what's gonna happen. There was not really much of a surprise when Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble. There was not much of a surprise when Cody Rhodes won the championship back because we were just like, yeah, that makes sense. That's what WWE's gonna do. Very predictable. But the unpredictable thing is to break the formula and put an untested commodity in that main event spot. Oba Femi, show us, show us that you're willing to not just say he's the next big thing, but actually with your actions, show us he's the next big thing. And the final reason why they shouldn't is the fact that at the end of the day it's a Brock Lesnar match. So it will go eight minutes if we're lucky. And most of those eight minutes is gonna be suplex, suplex, suplex. So yeah. Now, now if they go 16 minutes like Rock and Hogan, all right, then then we can talk, but I don't think they will. Eight-minute match, no, just put it in the put it in the middle of the card as something to just like wake everybody up and get everyone excited. I think no matter what, it's gonna steal the show. But eight minutes, not a main event. Wayne Stamp says, Wow, some of these comments, do you people actually watch the show or just get your opinions from lame dirt sheets? This raw was solid, some really good foundation being laid for WrestleMania. All right, well, here's the thing this is not an echo chamber. I welcome different opinions. However, I will say this you all you say is this was really a good RAW, and you go on to say it's a good foundation, but give me an example. What did you like about it? Give me something specific. All the people that you are complaining about, they gave me something specific. They said, Gunther and Seth doesn't make sense. They said, Why would Cody, why would Cody start off the show? They gave me something specific that they did not like. So if you're gonna give me if you're just gonna come out here and be like, this show was awesome and amazing, why? Just let me know why. We could have a discussion, a difference of opinions, but I need to know what your opinion is, other than Raw was good last night. And that goes for people who are like, Raw is bad last night. Don't just tell me Raw is bad. Why was Raw bad? Eric Shook says, so Gunther's back, and Joe Buggy says, I really don't know what the connection is to Seth versus Gunther at WrestleMania, and I know the match will be great, but there's nothing to do with each other's storylines. Yes, I I do think that this is a case of well, Rey Mysterio was injured, so Gunther has no one to face, and Braun Breaker's still injured, so Seth Rollins has no one to face. So just put those two together, and I think I think WWE failed them in the storyline department. Just because the original plan didn't work out, well, we pivot. Remember how you pivoted from The Rock back to Cody Rhodes and he made one of the greatest main events at WrestleMania 40? Well, you do that here, and it would have been easy too, because all Paul Heyman had to do was was pretend to have not read the email that Adam Pierce kept telling him, and that would have set up a trap for Seth Rollins to come and hit him in the back. But right before he could hit him, that's when Gunther attacks. That's when Gunther attacks, and then it's revealed the spot that Paul Heyman knew, and he made a deal with Gunther. So I'm okay with Gunther not retiring someone at WrestleMania. In fact, I'm glad for it. I don't want Gunther to only have retirement matches. But the fact that Seth Rollins was able to hit him, hit Paul Heyman, that tells me, that tells me that there's no real story because Gunther should have got Seth before. Now I'm sure they'll have something next week, and they'll probably even they'll probably even try to retcon it like Paul Heyman orchestrated all this, but again, it won't make sense because of the chair shot actually went through. We should have had Paul Heyman literally laughing at Seth Rollins as as Gunther choked him out, and Gunther was just a hired gun. Charles Yancey says Gunther and Seth is as dumb as a world without bacon. Oh, don't even want to think about that. Aaron Blaze says you could feel the disappointment in the arena when Gunther attacked Seth. Yeah, you're right. No story means no one cares. Yes, we're gonna love the match, but at the end of the day, wrestling is more than just wrestling. TTJC says, I hate how they're going out of their way to rewrite Dom's history with the judgment day. He didn't seek them out, they sought him. JD was the one who begged to join. And then Mr. Pete says, right? Like Dom was literally kidnapped. Yeah, like I did like that. You know what? I've done a lot of bad things as a bad guy. But yeah, Dominic Mysterio, like, he did not want to be a part of Judgment Day at all. They did kidnap Dominic Mysterio and brainwashed the guy. So it's like, don't just don't rewrite history. Don't rewrite history. Finn Balor just had to say, you know, I should, I, I take responsibility for creating Dom, but it's but Dominic 100% did not beg to be a part of Judgment Day. It was a good thing for his career, but he was kidnapped. Mix 70 says, I hate that Stephanie can't just take a step back and let someone else shine. Is it really so bad to sell Cody's insult without having to slap him back? I do love Stephanie McMahon. I really do, but she will like she's one of the most strongly booked people ever. She was literally taking on Ronda Rousey. Like she wouldn't tap from Rhonda Rousey's armbar. Stephanie McMahon, like, you compare her to her dad, she will slap you back. Roman Reigns, though, you talk about his dead dad, and he'll just like, like, what? Oh my god. And why did Stephanie get so mad about that? Cody said, you're not like your dad. What is the what is the thought process here on Stephanie getting mad like that? Does Stephanie want to be like her dad, Vince McMahon, in this situation? Because if she does want to be like her dad, why did she go out of her way not to mention her dad when she said that this is the house that my grandfather built? So, in reality, Cody saying you're not like your dad should have made Stephanie happy within the confines of the storyline in K-fabe. So, like, I don't know. I don't know. Last night didn't make sense at all. And if you go watch my review yesterday, I I break it down. How yesterday's Raw made no sense whatsoever. Mr. Pete says, I hate that we are at the point where all you have to do is point at the WrestleMania sign for a match. Oh my god, it's so overdone. It is so freaking overdone. Elvis Romeo says, No more celebrities. I could get on board with that. I know, I know. Celebrities have been a part of WWE since the beginning of WrestleMania. Yeah, cool. Love you, Mr. T. But like, I could take a break. I wouldn't mind taking a break from some celebrities for a for a minute, but I understand it's not gonna happen, but I wouldn't mind nonetheless. Tays Mickey says, LOL, why wasn't the Cody Stephanie segment on SmackDown? They literally had no bearing on the rest of the show. Absolutely 100% agree with that. Again, didn't make sense last night, Raw. And I hate how they just announced a women's tag match at Mania and didn't have Adam Pierce come out and say, like, this is too much. I know how little to I know how we'll settle this. A fatal four-way. Yeah, you know, and they did this with the Intercontinental Match. Even worse for the Intercontinental Match, like there was no, there's no storyline even whatsoever with the Intercontinental Match. It's just like Penta's just like, I want to have a ladder match. And the the most random group of guys are in that ladder match. Gonna be awesome makes no sense. And this women's this women's fatal four-way, even that, it's like this division was so red hot a couple months ago, and now like the way this this fatal four-way came together, it was just like four weeks of just interfering in each other's matches. And even then, after they interfered with each other, they just stood there. Everyone just stood there for like two or three weeks in a row as Naya and Lash just walked up the ramp. It's like I guess they I guess they realize that that April 19th and 18th are like a couple weeks away, and they're like, oh crap, oh crap, we gotta just start announcing matches. The wrestle Don says, I'm glad someone finally puts their hands on one of the GMs instead of obediently backing down to them every time. Uh, but I wish more was done. To be fair, to be fair, Randy Orton has done it twice to nick all this. Yeah, I'm I'm I am happy that Oba threw Adam Pierce because I'll tell you what, when when Braun Breaker backed down to Adam Pierce like a couple months ago, that was one of the big things that made me completely disengage with Braun Breaker. Still love the guy, still have high hopes for the guy, but I lost a ton of interest when he totally got punked out. DS Wise Mark says Dan Hausen is the scapegoat for creative when they got nothing. They put Dan Hausen in front. It's getting boring now. I understand what you're saying. I'm still liking the Dan Housen stuff, but I could, I need to see more. I do need to see more. And by more, I mean it doesn't necessarily have to be Dan Housen, it could be the people he cursed. Now, last night I did say that iShowSpeed should be showing on his stream the curse and things that are happening to him, and I was corrected by a couple people, so I I stand corrected and I apologize for the misinformation. I guess iShowSpeed he was cursed last week, and on his YouTube show, he was he was showing it. But why are we not seeing it? He has cursed iShowSpeed and The Miz, and they have said they've had horrible weeks. Let's see some of these segments of how bad the weeks are. Why is iShowSpeed doing more to sell Danhausen's curse than WWE itself? Just telling us what happened in the curse is not enough. Show us. Just Nandu says, coldest take of the day, but it's crazy that WrestleMania 42 has such a banging card, but yet all of their stories are lacking proper direction. Yeah, honestly, Oba Brock, they're they're hitting it out of the park. And even CM Punk Roman Reigns, even though it made no sense that that CM Punk was so mad this week because last week he was laughing and he was happy at what had happened. But yeah, for the most part, it's like Triple H has all the ingredients. He has everything he needs to make the proper steak, right? The garlic, the pepper, the salt, it's all right there. And yet he just throws it on the grill and then he just lets it cook until it's well done. It's like, oh my gosh, like, oh, we gotta season the steak, man. You gotta season the WrestleMania. Dye Najdev says, I hate Cody just like Chop hates somebody. I don't know what you're talking about. I love every single wrestler who ever exists. Kid Wilkes says at this rate, LA Knight, yeah, is winning the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Oh no, I think that's uh I think they're gonna make a big deal of Carmelo Hayes winning it for the first time ever, two years in a row. I think LA Knight has the prominent spot of a six-man tag with the Usos versus the Vision. Logan Paul and an Austin Theory and I Show Speed. It's OTW says all I got from that Guther and Seth segment was that we got nothing for you at Mania Guther. So here's Seth Rollins. You know, that's actually probably the most accurate take on this whole thing. Dirty Bird Dreamer says the Brock and Oba few just hit a brick wall tonight with H getting involved. Yeah, the fact that Triple H came out for Oba and Brock, it's like he he could smell, he could smell that the fans were interested and he had to get his face, his face in between that. But no, in all honesty, in all honesty, triple H should have came out for Cody, the Cody Rhodes segment. Unless we wanted Cody to actually give Stephanie McMahon a crossroads to to mirror what Randy Orton did to Stephanie McMahon back in 2009, then there was it should have been it should have been Triple H that came out because Triple H has a relationship with Cody and he has a good relationship with Randy. And back to the Oba Brock thing, when did when did this happen? Like I don't remember the exact moment it happened, but why can't the main event uh storylines ever have the two guys just just fight each other anymore? Like across the board, across the board, we just we just rush out the security, the producers, and now we're even rushing out the head of creative to prevent wrestlers from fighting each other before, like that wasn't a thing. Wrestling Cash says, Cody still respects you respectfully, and thank you. My god, when Cody said thank you, I was like, Cody, Cody, you you you had a moment, you could have been so cool, and then you're like, Thank you for slapping me. I appreciate that. And then Carmichael says, just turn Adam Pierce into a heel GM. He already gets heat every time he comes out. Yeah, you're right. You know what? If Adam Pierce was a heel GM and then he came out to stop Brock and Oba, then I would have been like, Yeah, this is awesome, great, because a heel GM could be like, you fans don't understand. You're all stupid. This is a business decision. I wouldn't expect you to know anything about business. You're all poor, you're all stupid New Yorkers. Go eat yourself a hot dog at the corner. Then it becomes great and awesome. But a face GM doing that, that just sucks. Why would a face GM prevent the fans from seeing such an epic encounter? And you could do exactly the same thing, but it would make more sense and then become part of the show. So there you have it, boys and girls. Those are my hot takes for Monday night raw. See you tomorrow. Don't know what tomorrow's video is. So if you got an idea, put it in the comments below. See ya bye.
