SPEAKER_03:

Hello. Welcome to the Buzz from the Treatment Table. We have a very special episode for you today. It's our origin story, how we all became the house of three fates. Welcome to Victoria Levine, Evelyn Tran, and myself, your host, June Hill. First, we'd like to go over how we became ourselves before we did aesthetics. We're going to start with Evelyn. Evelyn, what did you do before you were an aesthetician?

SPEAKER_04:

Well, before I became an institution, I'm actually been doing business. I've been traveling a lot. I do uh project development. I um work with um governments and of course collaborate with some uh investors and business owners in other countries. And um yeah, just busy traveling. And I as soon as I get back uh from my um traveling Asia, one week after I was able to enroll in aesthetics and now I do.

SPEAKER_02:

That's awesome. Hey Victoria, what did you do before you did aesthetics?

SPEAKER_00:

Before I did aesthetics, I was a stay-at-home mom and also loved to travel a lot and also like um was interested in wellness, creating um skincare from scratch. And so that led me to the interest in aesthetics later on in life. Yes.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay. Well, for me, I've been in the wellness and spa, med spa industry for 25 plus years, and I've been doing body contouring for medical doctors for quite a while now. My mother passed away about two and a half to three years ago now. And it led me just to think, I'm not getting any younger, and I really should probably think about, you know, what I'd I'd like to do. And uh my girls are uh grown now. Actually, one just got married. And uh my son was going into high school. So I I just figured this is a really good time for me, if I'm going to do it, to go to back to school and to get my esthetician license and just add on to what I'm already doing. So it was a really good time and an opportunity for me to go back to esthetician school. And that's where I met the two of you. So that's what we did. So, what's a moment or experience do you both think that uh first sparked our interests or wellness in skincare? We'll start with you, Evelyn.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, at first I wasn't really like, you know, paying attention and really focused on getting into the skincare industry until a good friend of mine uh approached me to be a consultant for their uh skincare. Um I was like, I know that he trust me enough to hire me as their consultant, but I wanted to be credible enough to understand the industry. So I enrolled, but uh when I first got in there, I was like saying thinking like, what are I doing in here? You know, seemed like it's I thought at first it's not for me. And then I learned the industry and I learned the people and I get to know you guys. And that's what made it more interesting. And as I learn, you know, the aesthetic side of things, man, I'm hot. And uh that led me to, you know, be with you guys today. What about you?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh for me, um, I've always had a passion for wellness, beauty, and in general, um, nutrition. And um, that led my husband to believe that I would be the best in aesthetic industry. So he drove me to aesthetic school and he signed me up for the advent program. And from then on, I was very happy and passionate about what I did. And um I just love seeing people's confidence rise when I do a transformational facials because this is what my big passion is. So I'm excited that we are all came together like to share our passions with um our clients and not only make them look good, but also confident.

SPEAKER_03:

I think what sparked the actual spark was in school uh with the two of you. I I did my my uh final, the freshman final on Evelyn, and she had said that it was the best touch she'd ever felt. And then I gave a uh massage to Victoria, and she said that I had a healing touch. So I I knew that, you know, I I had I was good at massage and I was good at my job, but I think the feedback from the two of you and then the business that we wanted to create was actually the spark or what I needed to say, yeah, I can really do this and go out on my own and go out with the three of us and and make it our own. And I think that that was the spark, yes, you know, to make it our own and to make an actual wellness center. So that was that was for me. So but what what do you guys think made us realize that we would do it together?

SPEAKER_04:

Evelyn? I think, you know, when we were like doing it together at school, I I of course, like she was my first really like uh best friend I like made it at school. Um I saw that you know I can just like work with her, you know, and um the the way uh you know she treats everybody. And I was like, hey, you know, and in this industry you need a lot of touch, a lot of, you know, like that caring uh type of uh you know like attitude. And um uh Miss June is really like pretty passionate about what she does. And, you know, I she was telling me that she doesn't have like the business background, and I said, like, hey, maybe we could, you know, uh combine your skill and you know your passion in the beauty industry to my business, like, you know, um yeah, background, and we can put it together, maybe we can create a business out of it. And I happened to have uh contacted by uh a good friend of mine uh who also wanted me to become their consultant and I said, Would you like to work with me? You know, maybe we could start with that and then work our way up from there. And um, you know, I'm I'm glad that we did. It's just a conversation at first. And of course, I wanted to experience as well, see how I am, you know, dealing with clients, you know, hands-on. Because what if she's good at it? I'm not good at it. And she trained me how to be good at, you know, doing it with people as well. And, you know, she taught me how to do the massage and all this like facial stuff, like that techniques, and it worked well for me. And I have a lot of great feedbacks from the the clients that I'm working on. And um we we share each other's tips. That's how we know we do well. So it worked well, and uh, you know, I'm glad that we decided to do that. And I'm glad that, you know, Miss Victoria, who happened to be our instructor in the well in the aesthetics um school, you know, was able to join us. And yeah, we are.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, what what made you realize that you wanted to go into business with us, Sectoria?

SPEAKER_00:

Just about the connection we had. I felt like it was like easy flow and just like your experience and expertise in business and also yours in HHP, which is holistic health practitioner massagist. So it's like very natural for you to do the services and my expertise in education and also in knowledge and medical medical spa field. So I thought that like three of us will make a great team, like sharing our passion and knowledge with um the clients.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. So, Victoria, what gaps do you see in the industry that inspire you to teach? And how do you co-create that in the wellness center?

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I see a lot of like um factory style schools. They don't really care about you as a person, and they just like give you a lot of um tests and books and PowerPoints, but you don't not get hands-on experience, real-world experience, and also business, which is really important to know, like as an aesthetician, have to promote yourself, right? So, like, I would I hope that our um school will share that. You know what I mean? Like, you'll have that bridge that gap of like aesthetician coming here to get their experience also to be able to find work from whatever they build on in our space forward.

SPEAKER_03:

I agree. And then Avalon, how did your business training influence your approach to the woman's industry?

SPEAKER_04:

Well, I think, you know, I always believe that everything that we do even family is about business. You know, there has to, um, you know, there has to be a manager, right? There has to be someone that's gonna lead the industry. So um at first I was I was doubting myself too, like, how am I gonna be able to, you know, incorporate what I've you know known in business to the wellness industry. But ever since I always loved the beauty industry, you know, I I I've known a lot of people and friends that are in the industry already. So I I I already know that I have passion for the wellness. I I know like Dr. Carol's also like in the um um supplement side, you know, and he done skincare for me in the past. I have my own skincare line uh back then. And um, you know, I already know that I have passion for that. And the business side of things is, you know, at first it's hard for me to connect to into together because this is is like a different, you know, it's like a very straightforward thing, you know, it's all about profit, you know. And here is you don't just look into profit, you look about making people feel good, look good and feel good, you know, and you make money out of it, you know, in the long run. So it's just putting things together. But, you know, I love this industry, knowing that, hey, I could make someone look good, feel good, and at the same time we all make money out of the things that we already love to do. Right. Our passion.

SPEAKER_03:

Yes. So for me, I integrate mind-body principles into skincare and aesthetics because over the last 25 years, my main goal has always been relationship building. I've built relationships with people the entire time. I feel that I've really honed in on listening skills and I've gained people's trust over time. And they've stayed with me because of the net. And um I think that that's the number one thing is whenever they're in a vulnerable space on a table, you're gaining trust. And so that goes along with, you know, bodywork, and then it bridges with skincare and what you're doing with their skin with its rosacea or acne or, you know, working on their skin and making them feel better about that as well. But it's that relationship. And then they tell other people about you, you know, and they tell people like, hey, she's doing this now. And, you know, even at our grand opening, people came and because they want to support you, because they trust you. And you're not just gonna talk people into something or because they need that you you have integrity with your work. And you don't just sell somebody something because you're trying to sell it, you're just telling them that they need it because you really think that they do need it or they can benefit from something. But it's also about, you know, the human experience. And I learn from my clients. Um, you know, we exchange recipes or we talk about world issues, or we talk about, you know, local stuff too. And I think that the relationship building for me is the number one thing. And I I really want to bring that to House of Free Fates, um, is the relationship building and that the trust issue. So that's internality. The authenticity and the integrity is number one for me. So, how do you think we are educating clients about the connection between the internal and the external beauty? I'll start with you.

SPEAKER_00:

How do we educate our clients on internal or external beauty? Like when we educate them by prescribing specific skincare that helps them not only feel good, but also look good, right? Like if somebody's coming with rosacea and you're able to leave that um problem from them, and in turn it's gonna it make them feel confident and they will trust you more and you know, confide in you with their skin concerns.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. And if we talk to them about like, oh, what are you eating or whatever you Because inside out, right?

SPEAKER_00:

But also internally what we inject.

SPEAKER_03:

That's why we have uh as our own supplements. Yes. We'll go into that on another date as well. But yes, we we believe, you know, wholeheartedly that a full wellness is your body being well, um, inside and outside. So if you have rosacea or acne, it really starts on the inside because your skin is what, guys? Your largest organ.

SPEAKER_00:

But also I want to add the touch. Like when some people, like they're very stressed, they come to our table, right? They want to have that release. And what stress does is ages us, right? So we are there to help them heal. We are healers in some way by touching the client. Right. So this is, you know.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. A hundred percent. I absolutely agree with that. So with us as healers, um, what do you think is one misconception people have about aesthetics and the wellness industry, Ben?

SPEAKER_00:

Because they think that we are there to pamper them, but in depth, we are not there just to pamper them. We are there to listen to them, to address their concerns. We are healers, you know what I mean? We use our toolbox of education of our expertise to provide the results.

SPEAKER_04:

Right. Or sometimes people thought it's all about money. You know, like people just like do it for the business side of it, you know. Not, you know, for us, we we know it's really expensive, you know, to do all these treatments. But for us, we really wanted to educate them that you don't need all these like treatments if you're taking care of the inside. Right. So that's why we take care of the inside. We have supplements to take care of the inside, you know, because it will help take care of everything. And of course, we have to manage stress too, because stress is the number one, you know, oh, um, how do you put this one? Cause of aging. So we also like tend to have like this good, like what Ms. June said, relationship with our clients, because we don't just want them to, you know, look good for the day. It's nice to help our relationship with them. You know, we share each other's families, each other's, you know, we would all address that life as their lifestyle. So if we it's 360. Yes. So if we can address all these different like angles, you know, then we are really like helping and building relationships in the long run. I I saw like she's very well connected with her uh clients. She's very beer friends with them, you know, like she's affected whatever their life is, you know, she's really affected. So it's nice that we have that relationship where, you know, we don't just like help them, you know, externally.

SPEAKER_00:

We also help them in different She puts people together internally as well. That's what that's what mind, body, soul connection. Yes, yes, yes. Yeah, what we're talking about.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. And we all want to achieve that. Yes, absolutely. So, Victoria, what would you say the most rewarding client transformation that you've witnessed is?

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I had a client with Rosasia. She's always been suffering with like self-confidence and you know, not felt good about herself. And so she came in for a treatment with me. And after the treatment, when she looked in the mirror and she was able to see her skin looking lighter, she was crying. And I was like very touched by that. It makes me so happy to see my client, like, you know, overjoyed to have this kind of result. You know, this is why I'm here to help others to transform their skin.

SPEAKER_03:

I think one of the best uh transformations I think that I ever witnessed was I did a lomi lomi session, which was about a two and a half to three hour session one time on a woman that had had a traumatic experience as a child. Lomi lomi uh means crest of the wave. So you go over an area over and over again until the body gets down to the cellular area where your body stores pain. And you you kind of don't know, you know, how the person's gonna react. They can laugh or they can cry or just have a cellular, you know, reaction. But they they just started crying uncontrollably and they didn't really know why, but they had such a release and they were so appreciative afterwards, and they just knew that you know they'd gotten over something and just felt that afterwards. And it it was just an amazing feeling that you can help someone in that way. So it was transformative and it was amazing. So it's it's a wonderful feeling to know that you can help someone in that way.

SPEAKER_00:

And yeah, and it's and I feel very lucky to have uh to work with you because you are amazing. You fixed me a few times during my massage school journey.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, she's just really like she's a heater. She's really like like for me, I don't have that much experience compared to both of you guys in the industry. But, you know, in my short uh time, you know, working with uh Miss B and uh, you know, in the clinic, I, you know, I happened to have like this client that has uh an issue with uh her past treatment. She labored her face, you know, and then she came to us, she came to us and she was like asking me, Avelyn, you know, what am I gonna do? You know, you know, like I don't know what type of uh, you know, uh treatment you how he can do for me because it's already damaged. Yeah. So I I asked you, and I know you recommended me that uh pumpkin type of um, you know, facial. And I did that for her, and she was so happy, and she came back the following week, you know, and yeah, it's all here. And um it it it's the feeling, you know, like that you know you're really helping them feel better, not just look better, but you know, they feel so good and they're very confident and they come back to you and they're asking for you, yes, you know. Live rebook, that yeah. Yeah, I think but no, you know, like they're asking for you, they come back and said, I I wanted uh to work with Apple and you know, like, and at least if I'm not available, then they will really like book, you know, on the schedule that I'm available. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

So that that that you know But that makes me feel proud because you're a great student.

SPEAKER_04:

You you're a really yeah I have a great teacher. It always starts from a feature. They said there's no there's no such thing as bad bad kids, only bad parents. So you know it's it starts from, of course, the parents.

SPEAKER_03:

So how did we all decide on the services we would offer? RMA. How did we decide that?

SPEAKER_00:

How did we decide I decided some of that? Well, yeah, I think you can make it from my background. I decided on some of that, and some of that has to do with uh June's background as well. She's a massage therapist, right? So we use UX.

SPEAKER_02:

We kind of combined like my experience with the holy ticks. Hollywood, we're gonna train them up.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I I'm I'm a trainee, you know. So I I'm I it and the reason I'm confident of what I'm gonna do here is the fact that I know I'm working with the experts. So Miss June has been doing this for almost 30 years. Miss B has been doing this for a very long time. And she happened to be our instructor. So uh who else can I trust, you know, to do a better job than learning from the experts? So that's the reason why I'm confident of what I'm doing here.

SPEAKER_03:

So if we could all go back and give ourselves one piece of advice before starting our journey, what do we think it would be?

SPEAKER_04:

I think we just have to, you know, it's business is business, you know, is a uh learning process. And so as an industry, you know, we can't be we can I can't say I'm expert on what I do. You know, I always have to learn from both of you. And I we have to be very patient on each other. It's because, you know, uh, you know, we're dealing with stuff aside from home ones.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Rome wasn't built in a day, hot take each other grace. Yes, yeah, we have that's the term.

SPEAKER_04:

I want to be used. We have to give each other grace and we have to be patient on each other. It's because this journey is gonna be like a long journey. It's gonna be like a learning marathon and it's like a learning experience for all of us. So and I'm looking forward to learn some more, you know, not just in the industry, of course, from each other, you know, the relationship from each other, you know, especially business, you know, it's it's not an easy, you know, because we have responsibilities, but we just have to give grace, we just have to, you know, expand our patience from each other as we grow. And I believe and I trust that we will really grow and we're gonna be very, very successful.

SPEAKER_03:

So, in saying that, how do you think we all stay inspired and we continue learning in our field?

SPEAKER_00:

We are learning from mistakes and also we're learning from education. So the best way to learn, I think, is from education, like right. And then it's okay to make mistakes. Even if you do, do not give up. Just keep going until you perfect whatever you're doing.

SPEAKER_03:

I think we should just always take classes and always stay up on the latest in technology and the latest that the beauty and skincare and medical field have to offer so that we always know what our clients are talking about because they are very educated.

SPEAKER_00:

And every day we always have to do the uh educational uh conventions and things that are related to skincare. So this is very important.

SPEAKER_04:

From our clients, from our, you know, from friends, you know, um, it helps that they're giving us feedbacks also to help us um, you know, keep our business.

SPEAKER_03:

Yes. Yes. So how would you say that our vision together as a business is evolving? What would you say?

SPEAKER_04:

Well, you know, I I think with everything that we put together, you know, I know that it's it sounds a lot, and I know that it's gonna take a lot of work. But um, you know, I I believe that be between three of us, we can really like, you know, reach our goal and beyond. And I really trust that, you know, in all our skills combined together, you know, and um it's nice that we have expertise in different areas. And, you know, I saw like how we've been patient with each other too, you know, as we grow. So my vision really is really, really, really good and very, very successful in the end. It's because, you know, I've already I already saw how we started. We started so quick and, you know, and we pulled it through. Yes.

SPEAKER_03:

I think we balance our individual strengths and our roles within our business because but we also gel really well. So we definitely all have individual strengths and niches, but I think because of that, that's what gels us, you know? Yeah, like you're definitely more of a business brain and I'm more of body holistic and she's more education. But because of that, I think that's what melds the three of us. And that's why the three of us came together, you know? So for sure. And then, so in saying that, what do you think is our goals for like the next year, the next five years? Like, what what do you think for the House of Three Fates is?

SPEAKER_04:

I think like, you know, um looking now, since we just like started Wii, um, our first month. Um, with all the stuff that we have lined up, you know, from the training side, the retail side, our um online presence and all that. You know, podcasts. Yeah, podcasts, you know. Um, you know, I I I can really like, you know, I'm actually very excited. I haven't seen I was the one. I have been so excited. I mean, I've been doing a lot of businesses, but it's mostly like just like straightforward business. And I think, you know, it's my first time to really like do like the things that I really love to do.

SPEAKER_00:

You know, before I've done skin colours. I think we just like jump in and we're like taking a big leap.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

It's crazy. It's like you just started talking about it and now we're like in action. Yeah, we're like running, we're not walking.

SPEAKER_02:

Manifest in it. Oh it's amazing, right? We're just manifested this by it.

SPEAKER_00:

And it's just like we're just like it's like it's a we didn't you have a vision. You said she had a vision that we're gonna be very successful. Yeah, digital.

SPEAKER_04:

And it's like she paved the way. We're just like running through it, and it was just it's an action. Yeah. So we're just doing the action now because we already saw what we're we are not talking, we're just acting on whatever we are dreaming.

SPEAKER_00:

This is like we are not the dreamers, we are doers.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

This is what separates successful.

SPEAKER_04:

I already know we're gonna we're very, very successful. We already manifested that, right? So we just need to like do the work this time, you know. So that is why I don't question anything.

SPEAKER_00:

And I love to miss June because June is like all about action. You just gotta get on you.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. She's just just saying you're gonna, you know. It's the mom and me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04:

But you know, it all worked out for us. We all need that.

SPEAKER_03:

So what does wellness mean to each of us personally? And how does it reflect in our center, do you think?

SPEAKER_04:

Wellness for me is really like that's why it's wellness, it's like total wellness for me. It's not just the the the outside, it's not just the skin. You know, it's it always starts from within, you know, like what you believed, what you loved, what your passions are, you know, it's gonna reflect on the outside. So, you know, I'm I always like believe that total wellness is really like a total package. We don't just focus on the skin, you know, and uh, you know, the color of our hair or stuff, you know, we it it it it it's total, you know. And if you are trying to give that to people, you know, and you're gonna, you know, extend that energy to some way, you know, you really have to have that with you. You know, like you said, you cannot give love if you don't have love within you, you know. So it's the same thing on the wellness, you know. Starts from within.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. Do you think it means?

SPEAKER_00:

Um, for me, wellness means good health, good surroundings, like you're like at peace, you know, like the people you surround yourself with, and also you like um the balance, life balance. And um just like feeling good and looking good is part of the wellness, right? It's a mind, a mind, uh, body, soul connection. So this is my definition of wellness.

SPEAKER_03:

Mine is too, and the relationships also that you're it's the feedback from other people. So it's that connection with somebody else, that experience that you're having from the table with the person, and that symbiotic relationship that you're having with that person, so that they do come back and they do have that relationship with you to heal them, to have them grow, because they're not gonna be well on their own. That's why they're coming to you. So to give them quote, wellness, what is that to them? Wellness is different for everybody, you know? Something, you know, when we it's our job to help them figure that out. So, um, you know, if they have an issue with acne or, you know, even inside of like what's going on with your diet, what's going on at home. home, what's going on in a relationship, what's going on, you know, and finding yes. Whatever piece is missing, I feel like it's our job as the professional to help them find that. But then, you know, we need to be well ourselves to have that symbiotic relationship, right? So that's how I feel. And that's what's reflected in our center. I feel it.

SPEAKER_02:

So uh what's one word that each of us would use to describe our partnership? Harmonious. Yes. What do you think? Grace. Grace. I would use a sisterhood.

SPEAKER_03:

I love it. Yes. Yes. Well ladies, I've loved our conversation today and I love that we are the House of Free Fates. And I just want to explain how we came up with the House of Three Fates name. It's um we got that from mythology. Um it's a mythological reference. Um you know the they hold the fates of time and so uh I felt that it was the right time and space uh through fate and that we all came together at the right time. So that's how we came up with and there's three of us. So we are the House of Three Fates. Yeah and I love the knee. Me too. I love the knee too. Sally we hope that you will come and join us at the House of Three Fates. We hope that you will be a client of ours and we hope that you will keep watching and listening to the buzz from the treatment table.
