You’ll see Tammy’s before, during, and after results while Melissa explains exactly what microneedling does, how it stimulates collagen production, who it’s best for, what recovery looks like, and what kind of results you can realistically expect. Hey, how many of you guys are over fifty and getting fine lines, wrinkles, or heck, maybe you're in your forties. I don't know where you are. Did you know our collagen stops producing when we're in our mid-20s? What is collagen? It's the thing that fluffs your cheeks. It gives um, you know, a little bit of padding to your face, right? So what happens as we get older, we start to lose bone density and we start to lose some of that padding and that collagen. So I always thought myself to be that person that's like, I'm just gonna accept my wrinkles and all my things as, you know, just those lessons of life, and I'm I'm wiser and and I'm happy because you know I have these laugh lines. Well, I decided at 60 when some things started to happen that I needed to take a closer look at things. I started the at-home microneedling kit and I saw a little bit of results, but nothing major. So then I decided to take my skincare a little bit farther. So my friend and cousin, Melissa Lott, who is a registered nurse, is going to be joining us today and going to actually be doing a procedure on my face. So it's very like the least invasive, evasive thing that you can do. So if you're interested in um creating a little more collagen in your face, reducing the fine lines and wrinkles, and um even reducing pore size, then this episode is for you.
SPEAKER_00It's a beautiful payout.
SPEAKER_02So we'll see how this goes. The best way to view this is going to be on YouTube. So you can search Beautiful Chaos Tammy on our for our YouTube channel and actually watch this procedure that Melissa Lott's going to be doing to me today, or um search Tammy Gilman Ramsey. But this is pretty exciting because I have been a little bit uh scared about getting anything major treatment done, and this is the least evasive, and it's micro needling. So today's episode I'm just calling fighting age. So exciting. Okay, this is procedure number one. Do I call it a procedure? It's micro-needling with um Melissa Lott, the registered nurse, but the name of her business is it I work at Integrated Wellness and Aesthetics. There we go. Yeah. In Pocatello, Idaho. Well, and they also have an Idaho Falls branch, too.
SPEAKER_04I saw yeah, yeah. So, first off, I want to protect your headmat. It's really cute, but because we do sometimes get a little bit of bleeding, which we want, I don't want it to make your beautifulness. So we're just gonna kind of cover that up if that's okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's fine. I only wore it because I knew you would want everything out of my hair. I mean out of my face.
SPEAKER_04Get it out of your way, yes. And then first, it takes a little bit of time, but we're gonna put some numbing cream all over your face and neck, so you might feel a little bit. Okay.
SPEAKER_02And you were explaining to me the reason why you need the numbing on your face is because the needles go in pretty deep, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So we're gonna gauge each part of your face uh until we get that pinpoint bleeding, which can be a big range for everybody depending on your skin. Density. And this is just some hypochlorous acid to make sure that we've got your skin as clean as possible to prevent any infection, pushing anything into your skin that we don't want. We'll just run over this real quick before then. You do. Nice and sterile. You're very sterile now. Okay. You are clean. You cleaned your face really good this morning.
SPEAKER_02I did, I did. I don't have any makeup on but mascara. Okay, this is the numbing stuff.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. And you were explaining to me that um probably the most tender area is going to be my forehead because that's kind of your you have nothing between your bone on your forehead, correct? Like just your layers of skin. Whereas you have fat pads on your cheeks and jawline and stuff. Yeah. Now what is this?
SPEAKER_06Just more numbing cream. Oh, okay. Could never be numb enough. No. The less we feel. Beauty is pain.
SPEAKER_04Nothing in here is quite as romantic as a massage. Yeah. The decollet comment made me tickle because I was like, oh, I never even put lotion on my neck as a kid, you know? You wash your face. You don't wash your neck and you don't put lotion on your neck, and like nobody ever talks about it, but yeah, it's one of those spots.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, that shows your age. Shows your son.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's sound really good.
SPEAKER_02That's what I always feel like, like, well, if I don't smile, I hide a lot of my wrinkles. But my neck, it doesn't matter. You it doesn't matter if you're smiling or anything, it's there. There are wrinkles. We just missed a whole conversation with Melissa. It was wonderful and beautiful, and it started off with just about her nursing, what made you get into nursing, because she is a registered nurse. But yeah, that was a great conversation. I wish we had just kept record on. So we're I'm gonna record from this point forward, and now we'll probably not say anything special. Right, nothing's nothing special. But I did I I'd never thought about the beauty equity, like that you're naturally born with that, and that someone would look down on you because they're naturally gifted in the beauty area with the high cheekbones and stuff, and then judging you because you're going to get work done to try to achieve that level of beauty. But yeah, getting getting older is hard. I think I would love to be graceful about it and love all my wrinkles, and and I've said this a time or two love all your wrinkles and appreciate remember how you got on the wisdom, yes, all the things that you went through to get them and achieve them, like you know, your your baby gut that you give up, all these have all these kids and end up with this little pooch, but yeah, anyways, yeah. It's but it's hard because you do you look in the mirror and you're like, Why is everything just sagging and falling?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so yeah, and and you know everybody has it.
SPEAKER_04We just do it in different ways at different times. That's what I love about consultations when you get people in here and you don't know them, and it's it's kind of that fun thing. If you're a social butterfly and you're like, what is it that is your why? What is it that you love and for every human it's different? Like you have gorgeous eyes. I would assume it would be fun to just do a mock thing. Like if you had all the things, I think we kind of did that on your podcast. Yeah. What are the things that you want to enhance that you feel like are your natural beauty marks that you're like, okay, if I could reverse age just this little spot or this area, this is where my best face to the world is, and it's different for everybody. Some people are like, I've always had really big, pouty, beautiful lips, right? I never have, so that's the last place I look on myself when I look in the mirror and I'm doing my makeup because I've never had great pouty vocally lips, but I also feel like I used to have really long eyelashes and I would say that. So I'd be like, oh, I just always want to make my eyes look bright and brilliant because that's always been something that I could put mascara on and feel very confident about. So what is that about you, Tammy?
SPEAKER_02Like what that would be my eyes for sure, and that's and I think that's where start of our part of our conversation started was like I wanted to do something with my bags that I was getting under my eyes. Well, and the bags on my jowl line. Um but the eyes definitely because because like you, like I think you have beautiful lips. Your lips are very full, and they have the little cute little thing in them. And so you have beautiful lips. I like have no lips, and the older I get, the thinner those suckers get. But I don't want to get Botox on them, I want to let them just lie because I don't feel like that's a like when I smile, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Go ahead and smile, see, and you have beautiful feet underneath of them, and your smile shows right.
SPEAKER_02So I'd rather I'd rather live in the smile than worry about not being able to smile. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Because we talked about that. I don't want anything that gets rid of my expressions, I'm very expressive. But I was thinking about it because I'm like, well, but I also don't want to have such heavy forehead lines that when I'm you know sitting here like this, you you're you're just seeing these thick, heavy foreheadlines. I don't want that either. Do I I want to be able to move my forehead and to and be expressive with my eyebrows and things, but yeah. So I think this micro needling is definitely the the way to go for me. And I guess we'll see how that I cry.
SPEAKER_04The goal, our number one goal we make sure you don't cry. Don't have like a hand spinal, or like you just raise your hands, do like I can't do it. That's how it distractions. This little distracting device goes on, like a bony prominence. You can put it like on your chin or on your collarbone. It um it stimulates your nerves so your body can only focus on certain pain receptors at the same time, so this kind of distracts. So like you can just put it somewhere else, and then it usually works better like over top of a bone. So then as it's needling somewhere else on your body, it's distracting those. Huh.
SPEAKER_02Well that's interesting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright, how do you turn there? We go. I got it. Alright, so I'm hanging on. We're gonna start. So I absolutely cannot feel my face. It's like the dentist kind of feeling, but your whole face, which will be a good thing because um the needles are a certain depth in, which can be painful, but you want it to penetrate the multiple layers so that um it will stimulate the collagen and promote collagen. Plus, there's a serum that she's going to be putting in, and you can do a basic microneedling, and I'll have her explain the difference between like a basic micro needling and then this one that um is kind of an addition to, and it's um putting a serum in with the uh um microneedling process that um is the newest and latest cross fingers that nothing goes around. Why am I sharing this with you? Because we all have options in life, and you can use all the greatest skin products in the world, but if you have done sun damage to yourself or you're still continually out in the sun, then you need all the help you can get.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna hand it to you, and it can be irresponsible. I'm in the world.
unknownHere we go. Okay.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna do it in sections so we can get the best response and the serum deep into your pores as we do this. We're using the which has vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and then that special salmon DNA. And that is supposed to help with the healing and enhance your collagen and elastic reproduction with that DNA.
SPEAKER_02Salmon DNA. So I'll be a fish face.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_02And uh so since the forehead is the most tender, are you starting with the forehead? Okay.
SPEAKER_04So after that, everything else will feel like a treat.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I'll be like, oh yeah, that feels so good. Guess we got the worst out of the way. So repeat again, you're putting all these, it's vitamins and minerals that's going to be going into my face as you're poking me the so the regular micro needling, we use the same product that's in here.
SPEAKER_04I'll show you. It's just a glide. So it's just a nice little vitamin glide that's to help the needling glide over your face really smoothly, which is great, but really the traditional treatment is not really putting anything into those little micro channels. This one's giving you that added benefit of the amino acids, vitamins, and the salmon DNA.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so the normal micro micro needling is just kind of damaging through the layer of skin to stimulate the collagen production. Yep. This that you're going to do is doing that plus adding amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. And your salmon DNA.
SPEAKER_06Yes. The extra stash. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04And any time I'm going to kind of adjust it to your specific forehead. So anytime you feel like it's too spicy, we can either take it with a pause or not to make time really. So a lot of it, you're gonna be a little bit shocked when you see your video, the bleeding. Oh man. Yeah. Oh red. Yes. But I'm gonna rub that in with that serum just a little bit because your own plasma is actually really regenerative too. So we rub that in. So this is gonna tickle a little bit. You might have the nerve to sneeze. Okay. Oh, you do my nose? Yes. Okay. And I'm gonna turn it all the way to the lowest one, but okay.
SPEAKER_02She's starting on my nose. Meanwhile, my forehead looks very, very bright red and bloody. Will this help with my blackheads? I have blackheads on my nose. So bad.
SPEAKER_04Should help with your pores, yeah. Tighten up your pores and over a few treatments. I think the the trick is the faith and the longevity of it if you've got miracle results after the very first one. But discoloration, skin laxity, eye lines and wrinkles, all those.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04It's okay. You sneeze.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Watering. My eyes are watering.
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised you didn't sneeze. I was concentrating really hard on not. No, not wiggling.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna wait and jiggle the whole time. She's like, I can't take it. I just can't take it. It's so tickling. I'm like, yeah, it's like when somebody's talking about you and your nose just like tickles.
SPEAKER_02I was just picturing, I just kept concentrating on it's gonna get rid of your deep holes. When you don't hear the tool going, she is rubbing the serum on my face.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_02This is like a massage on my thing. So how long does it take for you for this to because I'm imagining so I'm gonna have some swelling. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, three four days. Okay, you know, you should feel pretty good.
unknownYou can put makeup on as soon as you start to feel healed, right?
SPEAKER_04You don't ever want to pick if you stab on a couple little spots that are more sensitive, you don't want to pick them off. But once it's overall mostly healed, you can put clean makeup on.
SPEAKER_02I would just say use makeup that you um I have a it's powder foundation that I use. Oh, it's new.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you don't want to reintroduce bacteria, so okay.
SPEAKER_02This is like a trip to the dentist. I'm the weirdo that really loves the dentist. Like filling, I can fall asleep. Oh, do you? Even when they're like doing a filling, I'm like, okay, I'm just gonna close my eyes. Hey, can you prop my jaw open? Because I'm probably gonna fall asleep. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I don't know, it's been a couple years.
SPEAKER_01Well, a lot of times I'll get spun and then it it'll turn within 24 hours if the next day it's tan.
SPEAKER_05Oh, you're not really a burner.
unknownSo this is just copper cream. Okay.
SPEAKER_04And it will help soothe your skin a little bit and it gives you that glow. It's got a peptide in it.
SPEAKER_06A copper peptide? Copper peptide.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. It smells good too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. This is the during. The during the during look. The joy.
SPEAKER_03Much joy.
SPEAKER_06See, it's different from a sunburn, because that feels good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm rubbing it in. Rubbing it in feels really good.
SPEAKER_02Now, was that the copper step too or something different? This copper green.
SPEAKER_04Oh no, that's just more. I guess it's absorbed really fast, but I'm like, I'm gonna put a little bit more on you so you don't feel so dry and tight at home.
SPEAKER_02That's what my eye feel like my skin is super tight. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And red. And red. You had a very response. That's good though. If I wasn't able to get any little microchannel bleeding from you, you wouldn't have that same systemic response. So that's it. It'll be kind of hard for a minute, though. Let me show you the aftercare when you get home. This is all from the skin pen treatment. When you go home, and this will also help getting that little dried blood around your face off. Put this on. And this is just a mask, a cellulose mask, and it will feel cooler. You can do it here and like a splay here, but you can also do it in like an Elycal's treatment. There's nothing, it just kind of opens up and clears up all of that. Um, 10-15 minutes of instructions are on the back, and that would make you feel awesome. But you don't have to don't cleanse your face before anything, just go down there and take a little nap when you get home. And then these I have a little magic marker on. So this is the spring glide, just a little sterile rubric that I use after I needed in the PDRN first, just to help that needle glide. So you'll use this for the first 24 hours just to kind of moisten your skin a little bit without doing anything extra. So first mask, maybe before you go to bed, or then you start to feel a little tight and you want to put some on. Wash your hands. Put the sun, your biggest risks are infection while the while it's healing. So just always wash your hands really good and don't put anything on your face by tomorrow, 24-48 hours. Um after 24 hours, you can use this rescue. And it also has a calming agent in. After 24 or 36 hours, when you feel like you're completely pressed and over, you can start using very generic like face clean face wash and clean cream day too. Um but don't use like used makeup. You don't want to put anything that may have been sitting around that could have bacteria growing in it. Okay, so pretty easy. Then you can lay around your makeup and build with that. But rescue is day two. I just wish they had, you know, like products when they're like this is one, two, and three. Use this until it's gone for 24 hours.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Rescue is for the next 24 hours.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, this is my face. You gotta you gotta go through hell to get the heaven look. Beauty is pain. Beauty is pain! So I'm going to be showing photos. So again, if you want to see the photos, please check out our YouTube um channel, which is Beautiful Chaos Tammy or Tammy Gilman Ramsey. And you'll be able to see this video with all the things and with the photos. So the first photo that we look at is actually one of me very, very red-faced, and it's right before I even leave the office, how red it is. And honestly, I was really worried about how that was going to cure itself. And each photo you see is taken every day. Uh, try to be at the similar spot or similar lighting so that you can get a real feel for the changes. Um, I wish I had known 100% ahead of time, like I knew some of the things, but I didn't know that I was going to be so irritated by it. But by day four, I was able to actually wear makeup and my skin looked a little more clearer and started looking fabulous from that day forward. And so, will I get another treatment? I think I will be able to do that.
