Welcome to Rhythm Pod, the podcast from Rhythm Dance Center for Rhythm Dance Center. We're here to bring you studio updates, tips from our teachers, and fun chats about everything happening in our rhythm community.
SPEAKER_00Rhythm Pod will be your go-to source to stay inspired and connected. We can't wait to share all the rhythm fun.
SPEAKER_01Hi guys, welcome to Rhythm Pod. We are so excited to bring you a podcast series to talk all things the greatest rhythm show. I'm Becca Moore. And I'm Daddy Rosenberg. And we are the owners and directors of Rhythm Dance Center. And this is a new thing that we are trying out this year since we are not going to be able to have in-person meetings, but we're honestly hopeful that this is going to make it easier for more of you to hear us and get all the info you need for all things year and show. So, first of all, we just want to say thank you so much for dancing at Rhythm Dance Center. We are so lucky to be able to work with so many great kids every day, every week, every season for so long. So also just thank you so much for your patience and support in this crazy season as we are moving towards this big move that we have. And I know it's been really unpredictable, believe me. More so for us. Yeah, but we are we are getting very close to our big move, and we promise it's going to be worth the wait. So thank you so much for your patience. Yes. Okay, so let's get to the show. So our year-end show is literally the most, our most favorite thing that we do every single year. It's so exciting to watch all of our dancers at rhythm bring all of our ideas and our teachers' ideas and choreography to life on the big stage. And we really start working on this. We work on it all year. So we start working on it in late summer and early fall with our theme reveal. And then we we get right to it with our team and we work all year long to put this together to bring you and your dancer and exciting, fun, over-the-top production. Uh if you have been to one of our shows, you know all the magic we bring. And if you've never been to one of our shows, we're so excited to have you in the audience this season. Our show this year is the Greatest Rhythm Show, a spectacular circus spectacle. So we were a uh we were inspired by the movie The Greatest Showman. If you haven't seen it, it's a great movie. You should definitely have a family movie night to watch it if you haven't. The music is so good. The costuming and the sets are magical. So we had really had some great inspiration to bring this show to life. So, what we're doing for this podcast series is we're basically going to break down everything in our year-in-show packet to talk about all the different details. So, we're gonna have several different episodes of Informational Podcast. All of these are gonna be linked in our year-in-show packet, along with all the information, obviously. And this packet should be out on April 16th. So, depending on when you're listening to this episode, it may already be available. So we're gonna encourage all of our families, both new and returning, to listen to all the episodes to make your year-in-show experience the best it can be for your dancer and for you.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I think sometimes when you get the full packet, if and you have not been to a show, it can be a little intimidating. There's a lot of information. So, in addition to reading through the whole packet, breaking it down here should be helpful, helpful, hopefully.
SPEAKER_01And I think we're just we just like to give you guys as much information as we can in hopes. We we really try to think of everything and try to provide you all that information that you need. So while it does seem like it's a lot, it's better to be informed. It's better to be informed. And also, hopefully, by having these podcasts, you can just listen to them at your convenience when you're going on a walk, when you're driving in the car, when you're waiting in the parking lot, on your dancer. Just shorter nuggets of information. Yes. So hopefully it'll make it easier. So, okay, so today's podcast is going to focus on our ticket sales. And also all of this info is in the packet for you to read through. And you're also going to get plenty of emails from us with all of the details. You probably already have one because you're listening to this. So you already have an email. So read that email because it's going to have all the information in it as well. And we're going to keep sending you emails to remind you. Um, we're just trying to cover all the basis to get this info to you so that everybody feels informed and clear on our ticket procedures and all the gear and show info. So, new this year, in addition to the podcast, we are doing our ticket sales much earlier than normal. And basically, we're just hoping that this is gonna give you all better time for planning and getting ahead of the May Crazy May Simber, whatever it is you want to call it. As you know, the NBA may bring so many things for parents and kids and us, honestly. So I think by getting tickets just checked off your list this month, hopefully that's gonna help you manage some of the May craziness.
SPEAKER_00Yes. All right, so we're gonna talk about a lot of things, but we're just having broken down into lots of different bullets. So we're gonna start with just the show dates and some general information. Um, so I'm gonna list out the show dates. Hopefully, you know all of this and it's in your calendar because these were sent out way back in the fall. Uh, we have eight shows total. First one being Thursday, May 28th at 6:30 p.m. The next one, uh, the next two shows are on Friday, uh, May 29th, a 2 p.m. show and a 6.30 p.m. show. On Saturday, we have three shows. May 30th, we have a 10 a.m., a 2 p.m., and a 6.30 p.m. And then on Sunday, May 31st, our final two shows, 1:30 p.m. and 6 30 p.m. Some of you may be thinking, why are there so many shows? We have lots of dancers at Rhythm Dance Center. If you've listened to us talk at all, or if you're in the parking lot or in the studio around 4:30, any day of the week, you'll know that. But a lot of times if we have dancers that come on maybe a weekend or a Friday afternoon, you don't realize quite how crazy it is at Rhythm Dance Center. So that is why we have so many shows. Um, all the shows will be at the First Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech, um, down on the Georgia Tech campus. It is a great theater. Would we love for it to be closer? Sure, but it's an awesome theater. We've probably had at this point 20 years worth of shows at the First Center. So it's a great, great facility. Um, like I just mentioned, our shows, we have a large studio, so we have the eight shows, and they're big, they're large, they're exciting, and we often sell out um some of these shows. So just know that going into the rest of the information we're gonna talk about. All right, so let's talk about the timing of ticket sales and the structure. Number one, tickets are sold online only. So you cannot buy them in person at the theater or at Rhythm Dance Center, only online through the links that we'll provide for you. And like Becca said, we'll make sure you have plenty of emails and information with those links. Tickets are sold through Dance Recital Ticketing. It is a website that specializes in this. This is what they do, so it is somewhat out of our hands, which is really, really great. Um, because we have so many shows and so many excited and loyal customers, we have a staggered system of when the tickets go on sale. We do this for multiple reasons. Number one, it reduces the server issues on the website because yes, we pulled a Taylor Swift a couple years ago and crashed the system when we did not do a staggered system. So we've learned that this works better. Um it also reduces the stress for you guys as families trying to buy tickets for multiple shows at one time. So the staggered system will start, ticket sales go on sale, or tickets go on sale April 21st, number one, starting at 8 p.m. with the first show. And then about every 10 minutes or so, another show is released. The second show, the third show, moving on. By 8:35 p.m. on April 21st, all eight shows are open and released. 10 minutes doesn't sound like a lot of time, but I'm telling you, within that 10 minutes, a large portion of the seats are going to be gone for each of those shows. So it's really important that you do not wait. Um, especially if you're new to rhythm and you're thinking, oh, I've got, you know, I'll just wait 30 minutes later or I'll do it when I get home from work or after dance. Don't wait. Have a plan in place to have your computer open or your phone open at the exact moment that your dancer's show opens up. Waiting even 15 minutes can result in not the ideal seats that you would have liked. So just know that tickets go fast, be aware of the timing, and be ready to go to purchase your tickets. Ticket pricing. Um, we have three levels of ticket prices. We have our premier seating, which is$45. And I think for each family, it's relevant, you know, depends on what you you see as premier seating. Some like to be the front row, some like to be further back. Um so premier is$45, standard seats are$41, and these include the accessible seating, which includes wheelchair spaces, um, any step-free seats where you don't have to go up and down any stairs, and companion seats for the guests requiring accessible accommodations. And then partially obstructed are$29. And basically, what that means is there's a handful of seats, maybe 20 or 30 seats where there is a guardrail in the upper section. Depending on how tall or short you are, you may not have an issue with it, but there may be a slight obstructed view in a few of those seats, and they are noted when you get to the ticketing site. They are$29. Um, there are fees associated with all ticket sales,$4 processing fee, and an 8.9% sales tax. So just know that going into it. Um, I just talked about the partially obstructed view. They work great for some people, that can be totally left up to you. Okay, super important. For the first seven days of ticket sales, so April 21st through April 28th, we call it our priority sales period. This is for rhythm families only. You guys are the only ones that will be able to purchase tickets. And during this week, the seven-day window, every family is limited to seven tickets per show. With the exception of the eighth show on Sunday night, there's a limit of eight for that show. This is the time we do this so we can almost guarantee that you're gonna get every family is gonna get up to seven tickets that they need or would like. You don't have to purchase seven tickets, you can purchase two if you would like. But this is the window for you to get them. After April 28th, they end up going open to the public. You can buy additional tickets, but so can everyone else. So it's really important that you are purchasing your however many that you need, up to the seven or eight, during that seven-day period, April 21st through April 28th.
SPEAKER_01All that being said, if you know you need seven tickets or eight for the show eight, you need to purchase those on April 21st. Oh, absolutely. Because don't wait seven days or six days. They go, like Danny said, they go very quickly. If you are a rhythm customer, you know this. Also, we are really good at figuring it out. If for some reason you have missed this and you go on the site and there are no tickets available, you're gonna reach out to us and we are going to accommodate you. We're gonna figure out it may not be the front row, but you know, in 33 years, we've never had a new. So just know that we are gonna do everything in our power to do that. If you're listening to this episode on May 20th, hopefully you're not. Hopefully you're not. But if you are, we're gonna try to help you out and try to make it happen for you. That being said, we really want you to go on on April 21st and get the tickets that you need.
SPEAKER_00Yes, super important. Um, okay, actually accessing your tickets. How do you purchase your tickets? So, because we have the limits per family and we have that seven-day window where only rhythm families can purchase, each family is gonna be assigned a unique code. It is a code that is specific to your family. You're gonna receive this code via email from Nance Recital Ticketing on April 19th at 5 a.m. One code per family. Be on the lookout for that code. This code is necessary for you to access the site during the priority uh seven-day window, priority sales. So you must have this code. If you are all set up, ready to go, you know, when your show opens up and you don't have that code, you're not gonna be able to purchase your tickets. That is the only way to do it. So if you do not see an email, maybe set an alarm right now for April 19th at 5 a.m. to check your email. Always check your um spam or jump folder too, because it could possibly go in there, and make sure you have that code. If you do not receive an email with a code, just don't freak out. It'll be fine. But just email Shelly at rhythmdancecenter.com or reach out to Krista at info at rhythmdancecenter.com and they will absolutely help you um get your code. They'll make sure that you have a code. Every family has a code, so don't stress, but it is important that you have that when ticket sales um go live. Um we've talked about this a little bit, but after the priority, you know, priority sales window of seven days, any remaining tickets, if the shows don't sell out, will be open to the public with no more limits, no more codes. Um, like I said, there is always the risk of sellouts. I feel like we usually have one or two for sure that end up selling out, not necessarily right away. Um, but if there are remaining tickets that are open to the public, you can go in, your friends and family can go in and purchase whatever they would like. Um, important reminders there's so many of these. Um, you'll notice this when you go into purchase tickets, but seats are reserved. It's not general admission, so you will select the specific seats that you would like for you and your family when you go into purchase, purchasing early. We've said it like 15 times now, so I hope everybody really takes that seriously. Um this is really, really important. If something happens in your purchasing um process, whether it's you accidentally purchased for the wrong show and you realize it, um, or just something happens with your credit card as you're paying, whatever it is, you're gonna contact Dance Recital Ticketing directly. You're not gonna reach out to Rhythm for that sort of thing. The only time you're gonna reach out to Rhythm is if you don't receive your code on the 19th. Everything else is straight through Dance Recital Ticketing. Unfortunately, we have no control on the back end of fixing any of that type stuff. So if you have any problems, reach out to Dance Recital Ticketing. All that information, their phone number is gonna be found in the packet in the ticketing section.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna also just go ahead and say if you are actually listening to this podcast, you're probably that person that you're gonna hopefully you're gonna know, you're gonna check and double check that you're buying for the right show. So just make sure that you're doing that. Like have that, go ahead and get ready. You do, you do have to get ready for rhythm ticket sales. Yes. So um, you know, thank you again for being the person that's listening to this. We greatly appreciate you uh trying to get everything organized so that you can have, again, the best experience possible.
SPEAKER_00Um, all right. We're getting towards the end here. Just a couple of things that questions that we typically get, some common parent questions. Can dancers sit with you? No. The dancers are gonna be backstage the entire time.
SPEAKER_01Also, dancers that are in the show, they do not need a ticket. They will never be in the audience unless it's during the second act. So, like, let's say you have a three-year-old pink poodle, and they're dancing in act one because they are, and then at intermission, you're going to, and we're gonna cover all this in another podcast. Yes. But you're gonna pick up your dancer intermission, and you are welcome to bring your dancer back into the theater with you. They can sit on your lap. You don't need to buy another seat for them if you're if you're bringing a dancer in for the second, for the second part.
SPEAKER_00If it's a show, if it's a show your dancer is in, they do not.
SPEAKER_01If you have, let's say you have two dancers at rhythm and they are in different shows. If the dancer wants to come and be an audience member and sit in the audience the whole time to watch their sibling, they are going to need to have a ticket.
SPEAKER_00So can dancers sit on your lap? Like Becca just mentioned, if it's after your dancer has already danced and it's act two and you want to bring that back in, totally fine. But as far as act one and purchasing your tickets, only dance, only children under the age of two can sit on your lap. So if they're not gonna sit comfortably on your lap for two and a half hours or two hours, you're gonna need to purchase um a seat for them. So, in closing, and my last and most important reminders set alarms. Set alarms and be ready. Set alarms for that April 19th at 5 a.m., just so that you know you've got your code and it's ready to go and store it somewhere so that you're not having to search for it. Just have it ready to go. Um, make sure you're ready at the precise time for your dancer's show to be released. All of that's gonna be in the packet. You're gonna have clear details. Like I said, they release about every 10 minutes. Um, so you're gonna wanna know and be ready for what you're doing um at the right time. Never assume you can wait till the next day or a week later. Try your best to be there. Um yeah, and that's about it. That that covers lots of ticketing details. And lastly, just remember that if you have any questions about your code, your specific family code, reach out to Shelly at rhythmdancecenter.com or infow at rhythmdancecenter.com and they will help you with your code.
SPEAKER_01Okay, that concludes the first year in show podcast episode. We hope you feel educated and ready to get your tickets for the greatest rhythm show. We are so excited to enter the most spectacular time of the year for us at Rhythm, and we can't wait to see your dancer on the rhythm stage. Have a great day, and we'll be back soon with the next episode. Bye.
