Gentlemen, every day is a battle. A battle for your faith, your family, and your purpose. The men who stand strong don't prepare when the battle arrives. They prepare before it begins. Welcome to the men's morning devotional. Let's get into God's word. It's time to man up.

Good morning and welcome back to the Men's Morning Devotional. My name is Christian, and today we're going to be diving into Proverbs chapter 12. And we're going to be looking at what our mouth and our hands say about us. You see, Scripture tests a man on two things over and over. What comes out of his mouth and what his hands actually produce. Proverbs 12 18 says, There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals. Verse 1 says, Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. The Bible says stupid, I guess we could say it too. Proverbs 12 24, the hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor. And lastly, verse 25, anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad. You see, Proverbs shows us something that is very unique. It shows us something that we see all around us, but is wisdom that is is so pure in nature. And it's it's that the tongue and the hand are both public verdicts on the private man. You see, what we say when provoked and what we produce when no one's checking are the same test taken twice. In the Psalms, there's two references of the tongue and discussing how important they are. And I love to go outside not only what we're reading because in these truths the Lord has established them multiple times in the scriptures. And we find that in the book of Psalms it says, their tongues are like sharp swords. But again it says, My tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe. Men, the the tongue that we have can either produce and bring forth destruction in the lives of the people that we care about the most. But we see in the Psalms that the second one, when it says, My tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe, the second one can bring divine law. So we see that our tongue can either be a sword or it can be a pen. It can be something that destroys or something that brings healing, but not by its own nature. You see, the tongue cannot do that on its own, but by the choice of those who use it. Our man up challenge today for each and every single one of us is to ask ourselves, does our speech this week build or wound? And when we look back to chapter twelve, verse twenty-five, that reads, Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad. If we know that a good word can lift a heavy heart, as men, why don't we lead the way today? Why don't we be that good word for someone else? Not just the one who receives it. Let's pray. Lord Jesus, we thank you for your scriptures. We thank you for your eternal truths, your deep well of knowledge that you give freely to us, Lord. Lord, I pray that the Proverbs might speak to us today. That Lord, we may we might be able to look inside of ourselves. And Lord, pull out what you have implanted inside of us. And let that come to fruition in the way we use our mouths today, in the way we use our hands today, Lord. We bless you and we praise you and we thank you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
