Gentlemen, every day is a battle. A battle for your faith, your family, and your purpose. The men who stand strong don't prepare when the battle arrives. They prepare before it begins. Welcome to the men's morning devotional. Let's get into God's word. It's time to man up.

Good morning and welcome back to the Men's Morning Devotional. My name is Christian, and happy Thursday. We're coming down to the end of the week, and it has been an incredible week thus far. And today we're going to be diving into Proverbs chapter 14. The way that feels right. You see, a man's own reasoning will always feel right to him. Guys, as men, we have a an inkling that is almost feels like it's in our bones. And it always feels right. But can I tell you that's what makes it very dangerous? Proverbs 14.12 says, There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end leads to death. And we see that Solomon in his writings to his son says this twice, almost to get the point across to his child. There is a way that seems right to you, but in the end it leads to death. But let's juxtapose that. Let's put that side by side. Let's compare that to this verse, verse 26 and 27 in chapter 14, that says, In the fear of the Lord is a secure fortress. And he will be a refuge for his children. The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death. So we see that in chapter 14, verse 12, Solomon says, There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end leads to death. And later follows it up with the antidote to this. And guys, can I tell you if you're dealing with fear, and it's okay to admit that, but if you're dealing with fear and you're listening today, I'm here to give you the antidote. Not by my standards, but by the Lord's. I love this quote from St. Augustine that says, The fear of the Lord is the hope of strength. Let us then fear that we may not fear. It's an incredible promise that we have that because of who the Lord is, he might be our fortress. And it's an incredible thing as a man to know that when we fear the Lord, not only does he become our fortress, but he secures our legacy. Because it says that he, the Lord, will be a refuge for his children. What an incredible promise that the Lord gives. That not only will we have a fortress here on this earth, but we will also have a refuge for our children that come after us. You see, the way that seems right to us leads to death. But the fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death. So our man-up moment, our man-up challenge today is where has this feels right to me quietly replaced this is what the Lord says in your decisions this year, this week, today. Name one area. But guys, let that area be confronted with the truth of verses 26 and 27. Because the fear of the Lord isn't a fear of punishment. It's the one fortress that does not collapse. And it is the one thing that gives legacy to our children. Let's pray. Lord Jesus, we praise you, we thank you. We thank you for your word that is forever rich. Lord, we pray that the word that is sowed in our hearts today, that Lord, it might bring up a harvest of righteousness in our lives. Lord, let this word speak to us, let this word guide us today. We love you, we praise you, and we thank you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
