The Energetic Edge: Mindset and Energetics for High Achieving Women
Around here, we don’t fix your mindset.
We call out where you’re interrupting what you say you want.
Because you don’t have a strategy problem.
You don’t have a clarity problem.
You have a pattern.
You get clear… and then you hesitate.
You know what to do… and then you second-guess it.
Things start working… and you pull back.
This is where that gets exposed and recalibrated in real time.
So you can actually hold the results you keep saying you want.

#17 The Day I Put The Price Tags On

There I was, late teens, working behind the scenes at a furniture store, hours away from the big soft opening, and the price tags weren't done yet.
What happened next became one of the clearest pictures I have of what productive avoidance actually looks like in business, and why it's keeping high achieving women from the clients they say they want.
In this episode I'm talking about the pattern nobody names but almost everyone is running. The constant pivoting, the new offers, the platform switches, the strategy overhauls. It feels like hustle. It looks like progress. But the store is never actually open, and your audience can feel it before you do.
We cover:
- What productive avoidance looks like in an online business
- How it creates instability that keeps clients from saying yes
- What it actually means to put the price tags on and open the door
If you're exhausted from building and rebuilding and nothing is compounding, this episode is for you.
You're not stuck. The price tags just aren't on yet.
This pattern doesn't just show up in the corporate world. It shows up in the online space every single day. And even beyond that, it's probably showing up in your day-to-day life every single day, but sneaking under the radar. And today we're gonna peel back what exactly that looks like. But before we get into that, I want to share a quick story with you and paint a picture as to how this could look. So there I was, I was in my late teens, and I was working behind the scenes at a furniture store. So the store hadn't officially opened yet, and we had been working there for several months, getting everything in place, making sure everybody was trained, everybody was on board, right? Just all of those minor details to make sure that the opening day was going to be as flawless as possible. But of course, before the big opening day, we were having a soft launch. And this soft launch was for the other store managers and family to come and see our store, the way that we had it set up, the flow of it, all of again, those minor little details that can really bring life into a store. And so there's the day. So there was a girl in another department, and her job was to make sure that all of the price tags were out on the furniture, and make sure that, like, you know, everything was priced properly and all of those like little fine details, right? Because obviously, if you walk up to a piece of furniture, one of your first things is gonna be how much does it cost? She didn't have the price tags out. So he had asked me, will you go and help her? And I was like, Yep, absolutely. So he did specify that he wanted it to be done as discreetly as possible because he was extremely embarrassed. The fact that we weren't ready. We didn't have all of these details in place, and that was going to reflect really poorly on him as the store manager. And so he recruited myself and a few other people to go help this girl in the other department be as discreet and as quick as possible to get all of these out before like the president and the CEO of the entire franchise arrived. And so there we are trying to be very low-key, rushing around the store, trying to figure out where, you know, it's like playing high-and-seek, looking at the price tag, reading the description, and be like, oh my god, where the fuck is this piece of furniture? And then going and getting the price tag on that piece of furniture as fast as possible. So we ended up getting it done. Unfortunately, it didn't go unnoticed by the president and the CEO. And there was just a lot of embarrassment around the day for like the manager and the way that things had kind of unfolded for the soft launch. Now, the good thing about a soft launch, as you know, is it's not like the big grand opening. So once the big grand opening came, every little detail was taken care of. Here's the thing: that doesn't just happen in the corporate world, right? Production avoidance is something that is very real, that shows up every single day in high-achieving women. So I'm gonna look at this specifically through the business lens today. Really, when we are in production avoidance, it is costing you the client that you say you want. Every month when you have a brand new offer coming out, every time that you decide to change platforms because this one's having a sale or this one looks better, or the shiny object syndrome, where you're like, oh my god, but Stacey over here has this one, so I need to be on this one too. Every new strategy that you follow because somebody online says that their strategy converts better than the strategy that you are using. That state of perpetually building something, of constantly moving, genuinely believing that the motion that you are taking is creating progress. It looks like hustle, it feels like work, but the thing is, is it's never fully complete. It creates instability within your energy, and your audience can feel that. People find you, but then there's nowhere safe for them to land. Or if they land there, maybe the price tags are missing, right? So they don't know how expensive that piece of furniture is. Or maybe they enroll with you, but there's no clear next step. There's no obvious door for them to walk through, there's no sense that they are ready, or that rather you're ready to receive them. So they leave. Not because they didn't want what you have, they absolutely do, but because they didn't feel safe. They could feel that unsure energy within you because you're constantly pivoting and constantly changing things and doing half projects before you get sidetracked to do another project. And I am not judging you. As a manifesting generator, I have a million ideas. I'm constantly wanting to add in something else or pivot this or add in this one-time offer or that kind of thing. So I totally get that. I'm not judging you. But it creates an unsafe environment. And they might not be like, oh, this is an unsafe environment. Okay, how often do we walk and say that unless it legit is like sketchy and unsafe? But for the most part, it's like this energetic, like something just doesn't feel quite right. Something feels a little bit off, something feels misaligned here. I'm not totally convinced that this is the person for me, right? And they start to have this narrative in their mind. So I want you to look at within your business, is it a clear entry point? Like the welcome sign is on, there is a hard launch. People can walk in and they can find the information that they need. It's stable, it's certain because you are stable and certain. Or are people walking into your business and it's like a half-finished project, like things are coming soon? Once somebody joins, then I'm gonna worry about getting the you know, contract or the agreement or the fine print or that kind of thing, right? So it's all of those small little details that we want to be aware of. And if you have fully stabilized that, another thing that I saw recently with one of my clients was her ecosystem was absolutely incredible. And when we were chatting about different aspects and energetic points within her, what I kept noticing was there was this wishy-washy energy back and forth of like, well, they could do three months with me, or they could do six months. It's kind of like up to them. And I was like, but that's not a very stable energy. What if we stabilized it doing this, right? And we kind of went into the pattern and into the deeper layers until we found what was actually creating that instability between the three and the six months. And once we found that and we dissolved it and deleted that from her system, all of a sudden she was like, Oh, I know what I want. I want the three-month commitment, not the six-month. And she explained why. And then we expanded from there, right? So, like the possibilities, once you find those programs and you allow them to dissolve effortlessly, it's like things become so much easier. It's not necessarily about the strategy, although, yes, you have to have some strategy, obviously. But it really is what is running underneath all of that strategy. It's not because somebody's strategy is better than yours, it's the fact that they've stabilized their nervous system to hold that strategy, and that is a very big difference. Let's take a nice deep breath on that one. So just asking yourself like, do you have a welcome sign on where everything is ready to go? Every detail is there, and that's not saying that it's set forever, you're never gonna touch it again. Because absolutely, as you grow and evolve, you can kind of shift little things around to evolve and grow them with you. But it's knowing that the foundation has to be stable. The price tags need to be on the furniture before everybody walks in and there's that embarrassment, right? Because then the CEO realizes, like, oh, his manager isn't really doing his job and holding his employees accountable, right? But in this case, you are the CEO, you are the president, you are the person running your business. So when people walk in, you want them to feel welcome, you want them to feel safe. You want them to have that knowing that when they when they hit that subscribe or that purchase button from you, it's like, oh, that feels really good. Not that, like, I don't know, there's something here that's just weird. And if they're reading that, it's not your offer, it's your beliefs and your energy around that offer. If you are exhausted from building and rebuilding and nothing is compounding, it might not be your messaging or your offer. It might be the fact that you are in production avoidance. You're keeping the store permanently in a soft launch mode. The reality is you're not stuck. The price tags just aren't on there yet. So let's get the price tags on there. Go and grab a copy of the PDF. It's free for you to grab. You're not stuck. You're interrupting what you say you want. The link for that is in the show notes. Until next time, take care.
