SPEAKER_06:

Not in this podcast. He never goes first in this podcast. Well.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright then. Hi, everybody. I'm Justin. I'm playing Nelvax, the male human monk, level 5. Uh, Way of Shadows in the 2024 rule set. Very exciting.

SPEAKER_06:

Actually. Shit. I messed up again. And nobody stopped me. It was all your fault. Gaslighting.

SPEAKER_02:

Who did what?

SPEAKER_06:

I didn't do the intro right.

unknown:

Oh.

SPEAKER_02:

What is it?

SPEAKER_06:

We're doing that over. I'm sorry, Justin.

SPEAKER_02:

It sounded great to me.

SPEAKER_06:

No. Welcome to Oathbreaker, a DD story. I am Brandon the Irish Wookiee, and with me today is Justin.

SPEAKER_02:

Hi, Brandon. You already did this once, don't do it again.

SPEAKER_06:

SPEAKER_02:

You said most of those words before. It was just the one It's an important one. It is important. That's why we're here. Hi, everybody. I'm Justin. I'm playing Nelvax, the male human monk, Way of Shadows, and uh 2024 rule set. Super excited. Fess.

SPEAKER_06:

And Ray.

SPEAKER_01:

And Ray's present.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm just kidding. Ray's present. Oh no. Alright, you're Ray, you're back. Go for it. That was a good job.

SPEAKER_03:

I'm Ray, I play Harleck, the Kanku Bard Warlock.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. And Andrew.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm Andrew. I play Xaniver, the Eladrin Sorcerer. And finally, Maddie.

SPEAKER_01:

Yo, yo, yo, what's up, everybody? I'm Maddie. I play Voss Dane. He is a half-elf cleric.

SPEAKER_06:

Wonderful. Uh, Bill is not with us at the moment. He's gonna join a little late. Um, so yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Lord rest his soul. What does Bill play?

SPEAKER_06:

Find out. We'll find out.

SPEAKER_01:

I want to say thank you.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice. Who?

SPEAKER_02:

I was uh I don't know his name. I was at Michael's, the craft store, and I was buying crochet stuff for my wife. Well, for me to make for my wife. And when I was checking out this cool dude at the counter, I assume he's cool. Uh I also bought something that was D D related, and he's like, Oh, you play D D? He's like, how And then he asked for the name of it, and I gave it to him, and now he might be listening. What's up, dude? We should hang out. I hope his name is Michaels. That would be pretty sweet. Michaels from Michaels. Which podcast name did you give him? Uh the OG. I told him we've been playing for like five years, and then we sucked at the beginning. Well, our DD was good. But our editing and podcasting turn out was a little rough.

SPEAKER_06:

I would say your the role playing was good. Our DDing was terrible.

SPEAKER_02:

No. Why was our DD terrible? That's part of the process. You learn, you play, you get better, you get some enjoy- It was all DD as D D.

SPEAKER_06:

Well, that's that's fair. I I realized looking like I've listened, I went back and listened to a few of those episodes a few months ago. I was like, oh man, I would have made such different decisions based off what you guys have told me.

SPEAKER_02:

Or what? That doesn't make it not good DD.

SPEAKER_06:

That's fair.

SPEAKER_02:

That just means that you've grown faster. And I think that's a good thing. We've all grown together. I growed into death.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so like our previous game, you know, we uh we're learning this this new system as we go. Uh some of us know the rules a bit better than others. Andrew looking at you, but the 2024 rules have come out not too long ago, and we're playing the system together, and we're learning these rules together. So I've been asked by our players about two rules specifically, and I just wanted to go over them. The first we're gonna start with is bastion rules. So, bastion rules is a thing that's been around for a long time, but they finally put it in the actual rule book. So it's it's got actual rules, and there's things called bastion turns. So I just want to go over it real quick, and uh, I want all of you to tell me if this is something you want to do or don't do, right? So the thing to keep in mind as we read through this is it is going to take some RP, it's going to require some upkeep on the bastion itself. There's going to be some turns that you've got to plan out, there's planning involved. Um, so it is going to take part of the session time to do this. Not every session, because the a turn happens every seven in-game days, but it is going to take up part of the game. And but at the the other side of the house, I think there's some cool RP uh opportunities here. And I also think that uh you we can set up for some cool things like bastion defenses, or if the city gets attacked, you know, you can use that as a stronghold type deal. So there's uh there's other cool aspects to it that we can play with.

SPEAKER_01:

Like a passive aggressive, sticky note conversation exactly. With your roomies.

SPEAKER_06:

So you sock on the door. Uh so when you've got a bastion, so what a bastion is, it's a location that belongs to a player character. It's basically their home or their stronghold, right? It's a place of power that the character develops over the course of a campaign. They are first available at level 5 for a player, uh, and then it's up to DM's discretion on how the character gets the bastion. Um and like I said, it allows if if they're allowed during the campaign, it allows you to do certain things. So at level five, if you have a bastion, you start with two standard facilities and two special facilities. There, and the special facilities each do something unique. Like, for instance, if you have a library as a special facility, you can use that to do research for it. And every seven days, they'll add to that research again at DM's discretion. Or if you have something like a barracks, you can go out and recruit mercenaries for your cause, right? Or to defend the barracks. So there's some cool things there. Uh, there's only five, six, seven, eight, nine, nine different special facilities allowed at level five that increases at level nine, and then again at 13 and 17. Um, but each of you get two special facilities and two normal facilities. And normal facilities are a bathroom or a dining room, right? It's it's just basic rooms. It's more for the RP side of the house than anything else. You can either keep the I'm not gonna lie, Andrew, that scared the fuck out of me. Uh just seeing because I don't know why, but I thought that was behind me for a second. I just saw something dart past you. I was hearts going. Alright. Alright. So I'll blow my background to stop distracting. No, no, you're fine. Absolutely fine. Um, so at level five, you can either uh anytime you can keep your bastion separately, so you each have your own bastion, or you can can combine them. So if all five of you were to combine them, you would have ten special facilities and ten uh standard facilities to use. There are a cool uh a couple cool apps you can use to actually build the facility out so you can see a 3D printed version or a 3D version of this. Um but again, uh and some examples of like turns, right? Um sorry. So some things you can do to uh as orders, right? You can decide to craft, so you can craft an item that can be made in the facility. You still have to follow normal crafting rules, so there has to those items have to be available, you still gotta pay gold for them, etc. Um, you can harvest, uh harvest a specific specific resource, so maybe it's iron, copper, corn, whatever you want to do, you can recruit, you can research, you can trade. There's a lot of cool things, and those are just some examples of them. Later on in the in late game, uh you get like you can unlock a demi plane or a guild hall or a war room. So there's some cool things you can do to it. So I would just like uh real quick around the table. Uh do you guys want to use bastions? Justin?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes.

SPEAKER_06:

Maddie?

SPEAKER_01:

Yes.

SPEAKER_06:

Andrew. Let's go for it. And Ray?

SPEAKER_03:

Yes, that's good.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, and I know Bill wants it because he's the one that brought it up. Any questions about Bastions before we bring up uh before we move on?

SPEAKER_01:

Can I change my answer to no?

SPEAKER_06:

Because Bill wants it.

SPEAKER_01:

Can we tell Bill that we all voted no?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_01:

Let's let him worry about it for a little bit and then we start off the next episode in the bastion.

SPEAKER_03:

It seems way too complicated. I'm never gonna keep up on that.

SPEAKER_06:

The difficult part for me is now I actually have to track how many days have passed.

SPEAKER_01:

Um77,000 Dragon Age.

SPEAKER_07:

I mean Dragon Age, baby. We could just gaslight you on the number of days and tell you that we're keeping track. Yeah, I'm not gonna believe any of you.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh, okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, it's all just a month. I want to talk about gaslighting.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. The second thing I want to talk about is crafting magical items. So again, this is something that's been around a while, but they finally like solidified the rules in 2024. Uh it's in the player's handbook, you can already brew potions of healing and scribing and and spell scrolls. Um, but to make specific magic items, you've got to follow the rules in the in the DM handbook. So, one, to craft a magic item, you you and any assistants that work on it must have proficiency in Arcana skill. And then you have to have the tool that's required. So, if you, for instance, want to create a ring, you've got to be proficient in jeweler's tools. If you want to make a staff, you've got to be proficient in wood carver's tools, so on and so forth. Um, if the magic item allows the user to cast a spell, you must have all those spells prepared every day you spend crafting the item. So most items require multiple days to craft. If you want that item to craft uh be able to cast a spell, you've got to have the spell prepared. And most importantly, is time and cost. So crafting a magic item takes an amount of time and money based on the item's rarity as shown in the magic item crafting time and cost table. Uh there's a lot of rules here, but basically a day is eight hours, so you have to be crafting for eight hours. All of your assistants have to be uh your assistants' assistants can help characters uh work, and multiple players can help. So if Justin and Andrew both wanted to craft an item together, they can work together to craft that item. And you've got to have the raw materials. Um in a large city, there's a 75% chance based off DM's discretion. Uh in a small rural town, there's more like a 25% chance. But here's the other thing if the magic item incorporates an item that has a purchase cost, uh, such as a weapon or a suit of armor, you must also pay that entire cost or craft that item using the play rules in the player's handbook. For example, to make a plus one armor plate, you have to have plate armor or pay 2,000 gold pieces and craft, or so you can either pay 3,500 gold pieces or 2,000 gold pieces and craft the armor. So you've got to have all the prerequisite pieces as well. So a typical example of this, for instance, uh Andrew wants to craft a Lucky Stone.

SPEAKER_02:

It's just a rock. It looks like a cat though. Well, we can get a cat. My my companion gets a cat.

SPEAKER_03:

Does it have to look like a cat?

SPEAKER_07:

I don't think it has to. No, it does not.

SPEAKER_03:

What kind of magic items can we make? Like, can I make prested digitation shamwells to sell to commoners?

SPEAKER_06:

You can!

SPEAKER_03:

Nice! You can clean anything.

SPEAKER_07:

Gives you six castings a day.

SPEAKER_03:

Boom.

SPEAKER_07:

Or six charges and recharges a d6 a day or something.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know. You think you're gonna have prested digitation prepared every day? Well in this party?

SPEAKER_00:

Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Well, we only have a we only have a single prepared spellcaster. Everyone else is a yeah. A known spellcaster or a spontaneous spellcaster. I'm gonna go. Wait, Luxe.

SPEAKER_01:

Who's supposed to prepare spells? What character does that?

SPEAKER_07:

Oh my god. I've heard clerics are supposed to, but I know that you don't.

SPEAKER_01:

So I mean I don't get it, because I just have no spells available.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so a Lux Stone is a an uncommon item. It does require attunement. Um, but because it's uncommon, it's gonna take about 10 days to craft, and it's also gonna cost uh 200 gold pieces. If there's anything extra that's involved with that, such as a ruby or anything, they would have to, Andrew would also have to purchase that ruby separately.

SPEAKER_01:

Do you have to be in your bastion, like crafting for 10 days, or it's just like happen to the background?

SPEAKER_06:

You can no, you do not have to be in your bastion for those 10 days straight. You can be on the road doing it, but a day of crafting is eight hours of dedicated time.

SPEAKER_01:

Ah.

SPEAKER_06:

Justin.

SPEAKER_02:

Can we talk you into like side quest one-offs to procure through various me? For example, maybe rob a jeweler's shop to get a diamond worth 500 GP?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh, I'm good with that. Uh, you know I'm all for player agency here. However, if you were to rob a jewelry store, be prepared for consequences, for one.

SPEAKER_01:

If you get caught, he'd go to chest.

SPEAKER_06:

And two, that is going to increase the amount of time we originally allotted for this, which I'm more than fine with. We've had our previous campaign going for five fucking years. I don't care if this takes more than a year and a half.

SPEAKER_02:

I meant more specifically, like, uh, my profession as Nelvax is a thief. So for like if Xaniver is like, man, I could really use a Ruy or a diamond or, you know, other thing, and Nelvax is like, Alright, give me like three days. Maybe Nelvax bring in somebody with him. Maybe Novax ha has his own gang of dudes, and we roll up a couple of Randos to hang out with Novax while we do this little sting operation on a non-normally scheduled uh recording day where it's like you, me, and whoever's free to go do some chicanery.

SPEAKER_01:

That could be kind of fun. Yeah, I'm all for it. I'm also thinking if we all had like some back pocket magical item that we're working towards or any kind of crafting item, then that'd be a good excuse for like missing out a recording.

SPEAKER_07:

That's true. Like some like some boots that allow um Voss to move at 30 feet per round. I mean, I could already do that in my normal boots.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, wait, isn't that supposed to be at an advantage or oh you're down. What do you not have arm the strength or something? What's the deal?

SPEAKER_01:

I have I have 30 30 character. He doesn't have enough strength at his plate armor. My my walking speed's 20. Yeah, because you're you know you can't carry your fucking stupid armor. I'm very loud. Um, is that why is it it's that my strength is? You need to have 15 strength. I shouldn't I'll prioritize that on my next level.

SPEAKER_06:

The only thing I will say about magical item creation is I would appreciate if there's not full-blown arguments about it. I'm willing to talk to you about price, but once that price is set, the price is set. I don't I don't really want to hear bitching about it. Because that just takes the fuck out of it for me. We're just gonna rob you.

SPEAKER_01:

We would never do something like that.

SPEAKER_06:

Why would you rob me?

SPEAKER_01:

Wait, is it I mean, isn't the price set by uh the rules? What is there to argue about?

SPEAKER_06:

What is there to argue about in this group? Did you really just fucking ask me that?

SPEAKER_01:

Uh yeah, I don't get it.

SPEAKER_03:

I feel like I'm pretty amenable most of the time. Oh my god, did I tell you about the bathroom situ? I told Andrew about the bathroom situation, didn't I?

SPEAKER_06:

I don't know what an Alaskan pipeline sparked your memory for, but I'm here for it. Let the world know.

SPEAKER_03:

Dude, just a terrifying situation for me. As like the person who's like, you know, like my life is very TV 14, like, I don't like to mix it up in uh any uh promiscuous scenarios. I went to a concert and it was uh just all the bathrooms were uh gender neutral. And I was like, okay, well, this one over here at least has urinals, so I'm gonna go towards that one. And there's no one in there. I purposely went during one of the big sets going on, and I was like, Yeah, alright, no one's in here. Do my business in the stall because I'm like super pea shy. And then I open up the stall door and there's just like a scantily clad woman there, and she's like, hey, it's gender neutral, right? And like does the finger guns, and I was just like, oh my god. Thank god someone else in there like get out. He's like, that's not happening here. It was crazy. Um that's great. Terrifying Bill. It was Bill for hot stickets. He left. He's like, ah, Ray's being loud.

SPEAKER_01:

He's gotta he's gonna find those uh subscribed.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh is there any questions before we start it up? Cool. Alright. Uh so recap. Uh Ray, Andrew, and Maddie, if you wouldn't mind rolling me some recap, because Justin was not here.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, how I'm actually kinda wondering. I got 17.

SPEAKER_08:

Hello.

SPEAKER_06:

Hey Bill.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, not 20.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, maybe I would do it. So was there an answer?

SPEAKER_01:

Answer to a question. Answer to one question.

SPEAKER_08:

Talking to Brandon.

SPEAKER_01:

An answer? An answer to talking to Brandon? You can always. No, you cannot have that time off.

SPEAKER_06:

It is. Oh, the Bastion rule. Yeah, Bastion is okay. It's approved.

SPEAKER_02:

Dude, you totally you could have messed with it. No, the notes say we said no with all those yeses next to it.

SPEAKER_08:

You're still in a collared shirt. So there's notes.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I tagged you like seven times. Three times. What's wrong with it? What's wrong with a collar?

SPEAKER_06:

I guess you're wearing why are you wearing it? I guess it's 6 30 for you.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Just got off work.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, that's right. Alright. Where is my are you joining us now, Bill, or are you just popping in?

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah. No, I'm joining.

SPEAKER_02:

Hell yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. You missed the recap. Start over. The recap. Did you do a recap?

SPEAKER_06:

No, not yet. I thought that's what you guys were rolling for. We were just rolling for recap.

SPEAKER_02:

We did the intro and it just was nice. I took good notes.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, let's just roll for some recap.

SPEAKER_03:

I got a 10.

SPEAKER_02:

I got an eight.

SPEAKER_01:

Seventeen. Twenty.

SPEAKER_07:

Justin, you weren't even here.

SPEAKER_02:

But I wanted to roll some dice.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

If Justin wants to recap it, I mean, he could have listened to the raw audio.

SPEAKER_06:

Starting off strong, Bill.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, I don't even know what we did. Hold on.

SPEAKER_06:

For our listeners, we'll roll to one.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, I'm so not ready to do any of this. Alright. So did you know when you pop out the window in Discord that it goes on top of everything?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_08:

Such a pain in the ass. The hell.

SPEAKER_06:

If you're not ready, Bill, we can have Ray do the recap. I know you just joined from being off the road.

SPEAKER_08:

Um, give me one second. Uh okay, so uh we picked up the episode. I missed the episode prior, but um prior to that, that was already recapped. So we picked up and we were heading from the stable which had burnt down and they rescued six horses, and we went to a light not lighthouse, a windmill. And originally uh Zane's plan was to kick on his winged boots and climb up or and fly up and go through the window, and we were gonna send a heavily armored person through the window as well, and then Brandon clued us in that the window was like small. So that wasn't gonna work. So instead, we busted through the door and killed all those evildoers, because they were just evil we knew they were. Um so we blasted them, multiple people sending arcane blasts or sorry, um eldritch blasts, uh blasts going everywhere, stabs going everywhere. Um we climbed upstairs and killed all those people as well, and then we went downstairs and found a ritual in progress. And the ritual that was in progress was a summoning, he says with a question mark. Um and we the it looks like several people were already murdered for this ritual, um, or sacrificed, I guess, for the ritual, and I only remember seeing one thing that was summoned. The only the one something devil, bearded devil. Yeah, there's one bearded devil, um, but multiple people were killed, and then the uh the mother or the lady, the lord's wife, who was the lady, sacrificed herself by jumping in front of the blade or something like that to save the child, chucked the child across the room to save it, um, and then we attacked, battle ensued, multiple uh people attacked the bad guys, we killed the bad guys, but the only person we ended up saving was who's somebody who is now the Lord, uh, because his father was killed. Um and saved him. He was a crybaby, we tried to talk him up to make him stop being a crybaby, and then we took him to the guy who sent us here, and we picked up some stuff. Is that about right? I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Did you guys throw a baby? Is that what I heard? No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_08:

We did not throw a baby. The mother threw the baby, and it wasn't really a baby, it was a child.

SPEAKER_03:

I may have accidentally killed someone in cold blood. Nadiri never would have finger guns without uh without you know without thinking first.

SPEAKER_08:

Well, I mean, Zayn walked in the door and blasted somebody with an Eldritch blast, threw them across the room into the back wall without saying a word. So this is all true. I'm pretty sure that he set the tone for the whole event.

SPEAKER_07:

Um, if there hadn't been a devil in the basement, we might have been the bad guys in this one.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, I'm pretty sure that we weren't well, I don't think we were the bad guys, but I'm not sure that we were the good guys either. Say we were the neutral guys.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, if the devil wasn't there, it definitely would have been a are Are We the Bad Guys moment? But it there was something much worse than us, at least at least that we can say was down there.

SPEAKER_01:

Always remember, just because you bad guy doesn't make you bad guy.

SPEAKER_08:

So I said this in a in a business meeting today, that just because they're the bad guy doesn't mean they might be telling the truth, might not be telling the truth.

SPEAKER_00:

True, true.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, uh, and last logistical thing, you guys Justin?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh yeah, two questions. You mentioned we went back to Lord Seinemonders Monday's Lord Signeminder. Oh, that's an apology. Uh Lord Signander. Uh did we bring his horse back? Yes. Is that a yes or I didn't hear? Yes. Yes, excellent. And did we bring proof of witchcraft or just the one survivor?

SPEAKER_08:

We brought a bunch of bodies. Yeah, we brought a bunch of bodies.

SPEAKER_02:

We brought all the bodies back.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh yeah, we brought all the bodies back.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, so I have it in my notes. Um Voss found four rings worth about a hundred gold each. Uh on the left hand of the lady, there was a small tattoo with three interloped leaves that look like a Celtic knot. Did you take that too? We did not take that. I think we took it from the body, though.

SPEAKER_08:

It was a tattoo. It was a tattoo. Lady Rumblin. Lady Rumlin. Good guy. Somebody threw a firewall.

SPEAKER_07:

That was me. Somebody threw a firewall. I was really careful with it.

SPEAKER_08:

The tattoo looks like a rotary engine. And a circle trinity symbol thingy. Um but if you're interested, uh Andrew did put an a summary document in the notes. It's not 100% accurate. Um, but it's close.

SPEAKER_06:

Um okay. Did you want to go over the loot real quick, Andrew? What you got?

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I mean, uh so there's the rings, 100 GP silver necklace, uh random change, the curved dagger that is in no way, shape, or form evil looking with a bearded devil head and a red ruby on the hilt. A uh picture of a small female child with an address on the back that was found on the devil as well. Voss found uh the book of Shrouding Gate. Doesn't sound ominous at all. And Zayn found a gold ring with diamonds worth or with diamonds worth 315 gold pieces.

SPEAKER_08:

350.

SPEAKER_07:

350?

SPEAKER_06:

No, 315.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh no, it's worth 350 now.

SPEAKER_06:

No, it's 350.

SPEAKER_08:

My note is a 350. Also found a drawing that was ripped in half of them, which was apparently One of the guys we killed on the main floor. I think Brandon was I think the DM was alluding to the fact that they were being forced to do something against their will by holding a hostage of a child. But we choose not to believe that.

SPEAKER_03:

I think I casually blamed his death on the devils, too.

SPEAKER_06:

Because the kid came up crying even more when he saw the body of one of his friends.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, you didn't say he was doing it. I didn't know he was one of his friends.

SPEAKER_06:

Well, he recognized him, right? Alright. Uh yeah. How do you guys attribute the the treasure or the loot?

SPEAKER_01:

Does anybody else uh are anybody on track to be able to cast a resurrection spell that needed to be So Zane is a warlock?

SPEAKER_08:

So I'm pretty sure you don't want him resurrecting you.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh warlocks are bad. Maybe you're a good warlock. You could be a good warlock.

SPEAKER_08:

He's not a bad, he's not good. But pretty much the skill set of a warlock, you're not gonna have a pleasant time if he brings you back to life.

SPEAKER_02:

You could be a celestial warlock.

SPEAKER_08:

No, uh Zayn is not gonna be resurrecting anybody. So if Zayn picked up the ring, he might have just put it on his finger, and if somebody questions him about it, he will probably give it up. But he probably if he picked it up, he would have just put it on his finger.

SPEAKER_01:

I got I have all four of the rings. Um I just hold on to them for now.

SPEAKER_07:

So he got the four off he got the four off the countess, and then you got yours maybe off of the lady room.

SPEAKER_08:

No, I got it off the devil, I think.

SPEAKER_07:

I looted the devil. Yeah, you got it off the lady real quick.

SPEAKER_08:

Okay. So he put it on his pinky.

SPEAKER_07:

Maddie, I can pick up resurrection spells because I'm Divine Soul, but I probably will not be picking those off. Because it's uh I I only get to learn one new spell each level.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Clear as mud recap, Justin.

SPEAKER_02:

Good enough. I was hanging out, actually, I'm glad you asked. I was hanging out. Novax was hanging out with uh Jaegan. Jagin? Jaegan? The water bell? He's really concerned about his well-being. And what you guys finished up at the trail along behind you. And eventually.

SPEAKER_08:

Sorcerer warlock monkey cleric. Who's Oh, you're the one that should pick up the resurrection spell?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, that's why I am. Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Alright. And then there was one more thing in my inventory. It's a big ass bag of gold that we got from Lord Simoner, but we don't know the quantity of it. But it feels more than the 15 gold pieces per person that we were expecting.

SPEAKER_02:

Can I have some? I don't work for free. You didn't do anything. I saved the fucking horses. Get the fuck out of here. The actual mission we were sent to do. Get the fuck out of here.

SPEAKER_06:

The bag of gold is 220 gold pieces. Got it.

SPEAKER_01:

Andrew, what you send the book was? I didn't actually get that one in my note. So what 44 gold pieces each? You said I picked up a book.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, you picked up a book called uh the book of Shrouding Gate.

SPEAKER_06:

Yep. So you guys have had two days between that uh that incident and the current one. You do not have a bastion just yet, but something may present itself during this episode or the next to give you a bastion. Um so whatever in or pub you guys are in, uh relaxing, or even your individual homes, is there anything you would have wanted to accomplish over those last two days? Whether that is figuring out what the dagger is or reading that book that you got, or whatever.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I wanna I wanna look into the book more and figure out what this book actually is, but I think first I'd want to spend some time like determining if it's evil magic to cast uh words or hard. That's what I would like to do. Before creating it.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's on the book itself, you don't there's no evil magic on it, no good magic on it.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. And yeah, I'll just kind of casually read the book over the next couple of days.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so warning, lure dump in in route. Take about 20 seconds. Alright, so the Shrouding Gate, the book that you picked up, it's an ancient one-way portal from hell that can only be activated with a specific ritual performed once per day. When activated, the Shrouding Gate functions as a gate spell, and it can be used up to three times before it is rendered useless for an entire year. The ritual involves a specific rhyme in infernal that acts as a command word, and a living sacrifice of a creature. The sacrifice must be performed within the circle with a uh sacrifice of a hellish sacrificial sacrificial dagger, a specific magical weapon forged in hell. Upon the completion of the ritual, the Shroudic Gate summons a devil named during the ritual, or if no devil is named, a bearded devil. The devil is unsummoned and banished back to hell when the requested task is performed, or when the devil dies on the materi material plane.

SPEAKER_01:

So I kind of imagine we're all sitting around a pub, maybe drinking a beer, and Dane set his or sorry, Voss. I'm no longer Dane, I'm Voss. Voss has his uh feet kicked up, and he finally gets to the end of this book, and he closes it and he sets it down, he says, Well, that's two days of my life, I'll never get back.

SPEAKER_06:

So if you guys recall from the last session, uh the child said a devil was summoned and it flew away prior to uh prior to you all getting there, and you guys took out the second devil.

SPEAKER_07:

So if I understand correctly, we have within 24 hours of the ritual to kill another person and summon another devil, is that right?

SPEAKER_06:

That is correct. If you wanted to s uh summon a third devil, you could sacrifice a human being or another humanoid individual and summon a devil. The actual it's gotta be an intelligence score of six or higher. Well, there goes Voss.

SPEAKER_08:

So, Justin, just so you know, in case you didn't catch what uh Maddie said, Vos or Maddie's character is now Voss Dane instead of Dane Voss.

SPEAKER_01:

Too confusing.

SPEAKER_08:

And the reason was is because we have we have Zane and Dane, so it would be confusing for the listeners. So it's now Zane and Voth.

SPEAKER_02:

Was familiar with the confusion, actually.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Anyone else who wanted to do anything during that time? Uh spend another five minutes doing this, then we'll get into the actual episode. Uh Justin. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, uh, so uh Novax will like wander the streets and recruit some urchin that has some potential and start uh like training him, bring it bring him under his wing and start training him as a thief. As a little underling, hireling. Take care of him, train him, prep him.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Uh roll me a D10.

SPEAKER_02:

I was like, I don't have my dice out.

SPEAKER_01:

It's I gotta find it. This is uh this is to determine if you get a kid with Down syndrome or not. I don't think No, no.

SPEAKER_06:

Um Alright, so uh the urchin uh to take care of and to continue following you as a hireling is gonna require four silver pieces a day. Or sorry, four copper pieces a day.

SPEAKER_02:

Done and done.

SPEAKER_06:

If he's a good little urchin, I'll give him a I'm gonna I'm gonna have to trust you on this one. I'm not gonna be able to keep track of all this stuff. So four copper a day for your individual hireling.

SPEAKER_02:

Just as the money to pay him. I have eight hundred and seventy-seven gold right now. I think we'll be okay. I'll just subtract one and call him good for a year. Fair. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Phil.

SPEAKER_08:

Uh Zane is going to be researching and looking for uh written material like library books and stuff like that to try to help him in his goal to research and find more information out about the tower and its operatives and that kind of thing.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, roll me a D10. Okay, uh, through your research, uh you didn't find any specific names because the tower keeps its its closest uh its closest or uh the highest circle, they keep it very close to the chest, they don't let people know, but you kept seeing uh references of the chosen being said over and over again.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

And during your research, you've also found out that the chosen uh changes every one fiscal year.

SPEAKER_08:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

So annually the chosen is uh swaps out to another high level taker or high high level keeper within the circle.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Ray.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh I guess I'll try to Well, that dagger is just the ritual dagger, right? Well, what do you figure that out? I don't have identify or anything, so I guess I'll try to see if I can figure out anything about the dagger.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, I mean, if you're interested in the dagger, I probably should jump you on that, because I've got the dagger. Um, so I would have approached the group to figure out what we do with the dagger. Uh Lord Seinmonder had indicated that if we bring proof of witches or hags or whatever to the tower, then the uh what is the the bounty for it would be ours. And so that's kind of my priority is I don't really care what this dagger is. Uh it might be worth some money. And so I would owe it to the rest of the group as to you know, especially with two tower agents in the group, as to one, do we trust the tower enough to have this dagger that clearly is part of something, you know, not great? And then two, do we try and cash in on it or do we you know save it for rainy day?

SPEAKER_03:

That's where I was going with that more so uh I want to try to find out potentially are we turning over something that's gonna make things a lot worse? Like, does the government need another nuclear weapon? You know, it's that type of deal.

SPEAKER_06:

So as a as a homebrew rule, if you will, so as a DD rule, in as an actual DD rule, you don't have to have identified to figure out what an item does. Uh you can spend a uh a period of a long rest and focus on it and uh and and figure out most of its properties. So but as a what I generally do for it is if you have proficiency in arcana and spend a uh a short rest, or sorry, if you have proficiency in arcana and you spend a long rest on it, I'll give you the properties of the item.

SPEAKER_03:

I am proficient in the arcanas.

SPEAKER_02:

I thought it was a short rest, is that long rest? Rules is written as a short rest, but rules is written as short rest. That's totally fine. I was just checking.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so if one of you want to spend that time to try to identify this item.

SPEAKER_07:

I think Harleck is, I'm not gonna try and identify it. I just I'm looking for the cash.

SPEAKER_06:

So that's what you're spending your time doing, Harleck?

SPEAKER_03:

Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh so you're good aligned?

SPEAKER_03:

Probably.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh because I asked you that last time, Andrew. Yeah, you asked me what my alignment was.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so Harleck, as you touch the handle of this, uh you immediately start burning on your hand and you drop it. So you're not able to hold on to this dagger. But I don't but I'll I'll say you take precautions, you're wearing gloves or wrap it in something, and you start uh you start i inspecting this. Um so this is a curved and serrated magical dagger that's made in the furnaces of hell and craft of steel hardened by blood from the sacrifices of mortals. While wielding this item, you gain a plus one bonus to attack and damage roles made with this weapon. If you use it against a creature with zero hit points or kill a creature using the dagger, it automatically dies. Its soul is sent to hell. Creatures slain in such a matter cannot be brought back to life except by a spell like Resurrection or Wish. While killing a creature with an intelligence score of six or more with this weapon, the wielder gains the benefits of an aid spell for one hour. When you hit a celestial with it, the target takes an extra 1d8 damage, and if a good aligned creature touches the dagger, it suffers 1d8 necrotic damage at the start of its turn for as long as it remains in contact with it.

SPEAKER_05:

That's a sick dagger. Oh, this thing's crazy.

SPEAKER_06:

I will drop the full description in the chat.

SPEAKER_02:

What do you say in the chat? You're talking about the recording chat or the notes chat?

SPEAKER_06:

Recording chat.

SPEAKER_08:

He doesn't use the notes chat.

SPEAKER_02:

I know, I'll move it.

SPEAKER_06:

And uh anything else, Harleck?

SPEAKER_03:

Nah, that's probably it.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. And Xanover.

SPEAKER_07:

I'd probably uh commit oh sh I need to redo my key binding, but I would commit my time to uh working on my crafting.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. So you have now currently spent three days crafting.

SPEAKER_08:

What are you making? The vibrator. Nice.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm making a Lux Stone.

SPEAKER_02:

Um, the Luxor, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah. Since I only need a long rest for four hours, how many hours worth of work can I get during those three days? 24 or I'm sorry, say that one time. But so I only need to spend four hours in a trance on my long rest. So during the period of time, how many hours of the 80 can I knock out? Oh, I one day is eight hours.

SPEAKER_06:

Just yeah. Okay. So no bonus time, no overtime. Nope.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright. Just drain from concentrating on this thing for so long.

SPEAKER_06:

It's so it's so demanding. And you just get distracted by uh uh boss's just abs as he's working out. Just playing with my rocks while I watch Voss. Playing with your rocks as you're watching the rocks.

SPEAKER_02:

Wait, Voss isn't that yoked? He can't even wear his armor.

SPEAKER_06:

He's still the most young of all of us. Alright. So the King's Games. You all have been around for a while. You know the King's Games were first held by uh the first ruler of the Azenard dynasty, um, which is a long, long time ago. It originally included only the Battle of Champions, but over the years it has grown to become a kingdom-wide celebration with many smaller contests available for the broader public. Preparations for this uh day start weeks before, and the whole kingdom, especially the capital, buzzes with the anticipation of this. So, as your group is well known as heroes in the kingdom, you are expected to participate in the uh King's Games. You all do not have to participate in every challenge, but you all have to participate in at least one challenge. The the challenge at the uh end of the games is called the uh the Battle of the Champions. It is a 1v1 arena style fight, but to get to that, you have to place first in one of the games.

SPEAKER_01:

What are our game options?

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. So the the games are randomly chosen, one at a time. Uh they start in the morning. You have the option once the game is announced to sign up for it or not sign up for it. Multiple of you can sign up for the same games. They cost three gold per individual to participate in the game.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh and the winner gets a prize for the game and automatic entry into the Battle of Champions.

SPEAKER_01:

Sounds fun.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Uh, these are meant to be skill challenges. They are gonna go very quickly. Each game should take no more than ten game minutes. Challenge accepted.

SPEAKER_08:

So, um well, I'll we'll we'll figure out like what kind of games are there? Like, can you give us past games that happen?

SPEAKER_06:

So uh some of them are strength challenges, some of them can be archery challenges, some of them are puzzles, uh, some of them may be singing challenges, right? Uh and they are typically aligned with the history of the kingdom. So, for instance, there is there may be a game called The Sams of Anarchy, where it is a uh a bra it's a strength-based brute force challenge, based off of a famous half-work that the kingdom knew from ages ago.

SPEAKER_02:

Sounds like a really stand-up dude.

SPEAKER_06:

She was wonderful. That's very racist of you.

SPEAKER_02:

That's not racist.

SPEAKER_07:

Did the did the Sams of Anarchy ride any hogs?

SPEAKER_06:

They she did not, but some of her companions did. Believe it or not, didn't return them.

SPEAKER_00:

Not shot.

SPEAKER_06:

If Moores didn't return them, Sam wouldn't return them.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, because Sam can pick up a pig and then teleport back.

SPEAKER_06:

Fair. Alright. So, uh, on the morning of the Kings games, uh Yes, Bill.

SPEAKER_08:

Sorry. Um, so are we divvying out the 44 gold each that we got? You said 220, that's 44 each. Yeah, yeah. Are we diving that out amongst each other, or is there gonna be a little bit more?

SPEAKER_07:

If you want to add 44 now, you can, and then we can add the rest of it later.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm just saying, because I only have 200 and something.

SPEAKER_02:

Adding 44 gold to my inventory. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Everyone add 44 gold. And add another 15 from our time in Dunhollow.

SPEAKER_02:

Adding 15 gold, that little peon's mine for life.

SPEAKER_06:

Hmm.

SPEAKER_02:

I'll give him a raise.

SPEAKER_06:

Eventually. Alright, so the town, uh, or the the the capital of the kingdom of Anunbar, uh, is it's been meticulously cleaned, right? The streets have been cleaned uh for days before the day. Uh people dress up in their or people are dressed up in their most festive outfits, and almost all the shops are closed except for the tavern and inns. And they're all full of numerous visitors from the countryside. Everybody's come into the Capitol to see this this huge uh this huge day, the King Games. Even neighboring country from the city stuff, the draw city states have come in. Uh, the streets are crowded with people who wander around the city following the event locations, popping up one after another. Most major roads of the city uh are dotted with small tents and stalls of vendor. They sell everything from uh food, toys, clothes, jewelry, handcrafted products, you name it, there's probably a stand for it. And they're all shouting over one another, trying to bring you in and sell you things. There is a a magically enhanced speaker that announces the game or or event that's about to take place 30 minutes prior to the event start. So it gives you time to prepare, time to set up, whatever you need to do. Uh contestants, so the rules of each game are the contestants are free to use spells during any contest, but only if they can cast it on themselves. No outside help can be accepted for uh can be accepted except for verbal advice. The host of the event acts as a final judge in a case of a dispute. So on the morning of the day, uh the entire royal family takes a uh procession comes out and takes a tour around the city. Uh they're they're riding in a beautiful carriage surrounded by their most pompous entourage, right? Uh it's you've got court musicians playing marching, uh playing marching music, servants and maids throwing pedals, food, even uh bits of silver and copper out to uh the the common folk as they pass them. But most importantly, the knights of the crown are riding their their war horses through the procession around the king's carriages. They come out of the royal palace, they'll go down the roads, um, over the bridges, and through the woods. And thank you, Bill, for laughing at that. Um, before finally returning to the palace through the Queen's Bridge.

SPEAKER_01:

Do these knights wear red cloaks with capes?

SPEAKER_06:

They actually do.

SPEAKER_01:

Hoods? Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Baskets with goodies.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So uh the first game gets uh brought up and some dice here. Alright. So a large announcement uh large a loud announcement is made, and it says The first event is the Battle of the Tipsy Tunes. First prize is a magic scroll of the instant tense spell. It will also be held in an instant tense spell that was made from the same magic scroll, sponsored by the Emporium of Marvelous Rarities. So, Tipsy Tunes, you guys have seen this one before. Uh, you know that the Tipsy Tunes is a uh performance-based event. Typically, the uh somebody has to perform either a tune or an act, followed by taking a shot of some extremely strong liquor and then performing another act. So there's three to four hacks, each of them are followed by a shot of some strong liquor, um, which obviously throws off their performance, and they've got to be the best performance at the end of the game.

SPEAKER_07:

Interesting. I think I think Xaniver being the charismatic person that they are would sign up for that one.

SPEAKER_02:

Is there an entrance fee or any drawback, any limitation on the number of stuff we can join?

SPEAKER_06:

There is not a limitation on the number of can of contestants, but it's three gold pieces per event that you want to sign up for. So, who would like to sign up for the Tipsy Tunes?

SPEAKER_03:

Oh my constitution's terrible, but I'll give it a shot.

SPEAKER_01:

Voss is out. He'll mumble something about pitching a tent in his pants and say it's not worth his time. Okay. I go over and sit down.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh Voss is that if there's anything you'd like to do during this time, whether that's go and find some food, uh, just send me a DM. Okay. I think I heard he's pitching a tent. He is pitching a tent.

SPEAKER_01:

Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh what about the rest of you? Are you signing up for this?

SPEAKER_08:

Uh I guess so it's singing and drinking, right?

SPEAKER_06:

It's performing. Doesn't necessarily have to be singing.

SPEAKER_08:

Okay. So I mean, I should do it. I have yeah, I guess it's totally not in line with something Zayn would do, but yeah. No, I'm not gonna do it.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Nelvax?

SPEAKER_02:

Do I know what that do I know what that spell does? The spell scroll?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yeah, it instantly uh creates a tent, um, which can be used for cover, and it's got a magic uh a s uh a slight magical protection on it that can protect uh protect from projectiles.

SPEAKER_02:

Cool. And it's just the we can see a one spell casting ourselves during the duration of the whole thing?

SPEAKER_06:

You can you are free to use spells during the contest period, but you can only cast them on yourself.

SPEAKER_02:

Sweet. So does minor illusion count as casting on myself, or would it only like a self-targeted ability?

SPEAKER_06:

That's totally fine. Now, I will say as a DM, I will also allow some kind of deception or try to, you know, trick or fool somebody else, or even give outside aid. But there is gonna be a chance that the guards will detect you and there will be consequences for trying to cheat in the games. This is almost a holy level event in the city.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I'll uh I'll just like I'll ruffle through my bag and just like toss three coins out. Still trying to figure out how I can make advantage of this, but I think I think he wants to try because it's good to win it stuff, you know?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_03:

Arlak? Uh yeah, he's gonna be signing up for this.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Xanover? Um sorry, go ahead, Arlek.

SPEAKER_03:

No, no, no, you're good.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Xanover? Xanovir's in. Um Did you change your mind, Zane? Yes. Alright. Okay. So, uh the first event starts. A large crowd uh comes to the wide and open dragon plaza where the Battle of the Tipsy Tunes is held. All the bench sheets are taken around you. Uh the crowd is uh it's in a packed terrace, and uh the master of the ceremony is none other than uh a master master conductor Fabian. Um he's legendary in the College of Minstrels, and so he's there to judge and and uh not only judge, but also to ensure the rules are followed. So, general rules. Uh Master Fabian, Master Conductor Fabian walks up to the and magically enhances his voice and says Each contestant takes turns performing up to five minutes measured by this hourglass, after which the crowd will judge you based off of uh based off of how loud their applause and roar of approval are or boos. These rounds of performance each take a maximum of 30 minutes with all contestants. Who would like to go first?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh is that did anybody sign up besides us?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes, there are several of other contestants. You see uh three others actually. One is a uh human female, and she carries a loot with her, another is a uh a she seems kind of soft-spoken, kind of glances, glances to the side a lot, but she is a female elf. She carries a loot, and the third is a what looks like to be a full elf. Um, but he does look like a he's very confident and he dances around while playing a violin.

SPEAKER_08:

So Zane will step forward if nobody else does. Well, if Zane will step forward. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so as soon as you step forward, a what looks to be a shot glass is handed well, a shot glass is handed to you, and you're expected to drink this prior to performing.

SPEAKER_08:

Okay. Um if it's time for me to perform, then he will he will drink it. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

As soon as the taste hits you, you recognize this as uh spirited leaf liquor. Uh it's a distilled version of an herbal brew prepared by the local monks. And so I need you to make me a constitution saving firm. I the save is 12.

SPEAKER_08:

I did not make it. Okay. I I rolled a I rolled a three with a plus three for six.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, so for the next hour, you have the poison effect on you.

SPEAKER_08:

So he's a disadvantage on everything?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_08:

Too bad I didn't get inspiration.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, you do have inspiration. I thought I gave it to you, I'm sorry. Do you want to re-roll that? Go for it. Um, yes, I want to re-roll that. Go for it. Conceive a 12.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh my.

SPEAKER_06:

That does not mean or be.

SPEAKER_08:

Alright, so I'm poisoned. Everything is at disadvantage, which sucks, but it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_06:

So please describe your performance. What would you like to do?

SPEAKER_08:

Okay. So Zayn takes a step forward in a deep voice. He says that he is going to act out the story of the halfling versus the orc. And with a f with a um, you'll see. Him uh he is gonna play both parts and he will use disguised self and minor illusion to make himself look like an orc a full orc instead of a half orc so he'll grow and be a little bit bigger and a little bit more orc-like and draw his uh draw his long sword and hold it out and say you little halfling will taste my blade and you will never survive and then he will um spin around and casting changing his disguised self and his minor illusion he will make himself look similar to a halfling except for it's gonna be a very big halfling because you can only do so much but uh so he will you will see his um his blade has he has swapped out his blade for a small dagger and he said and the halfling says in a higher pitched voice he says I'm not afraid of you there's nothing you can do to me and then he spins backing basically back and forth he is taking turns acting out as the orc and the halfling in a battle and basically a stage battle where he's swings his sword and then he spins around and he blocks the sword and then he spins it back and forth and back and forth and he acts like he's battling himself.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay um so I didn't say this before but I want to make sure first off awesome RP uh but I wanted to make sure if you use a spell here you've gotta mark it off on your character sheet.

SPEAKER_08:

They're both at will.

SPEAKER_06:

I know that I'm just letting you know uh letting everybody know.

SPEAKER_08:

Uh oh yeah I looked at his character sheet Okay so roll me a performance check at disadvantage it is a disadvantage even though I did even though I did awesome role play I don't get any kind of bonuses but that's fine you think you're doing well but you're drunk a good point I oh my god what's your role Bill a one for a four all right uh the the crowd I mean you get a few uh polite applauds uh and uh do any of your companions do anything absolutely a cheer for you this is the best performance all day yeah I think uh Voss is over in the stands roaring having a good time um and giving him a big cheer with a tanker to Xander will use minor illusion to create the sound of booing from the stands so uh Zayn with a flourish will do a huge bow and stumble okay kind of stumble off to the side that is a freaking crap roll I have shitty rolls dude I have rolled what six D20s tonight the highest roll I've gotten was a five.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah that's rough alright who's next we'll wait uh pregnant pause and if none of the other people or randos are gonna jump in then he'll do it.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Loaded low performance a high performance we're just gonna you're handed a double shot of liquor uh is it is it a single double shot or is it two separate shots it is a single double shot same size that uh um Zayn was handed I'm gonna show how good I am at drinking by like slinging it up in the air so all the liquid goes up in a line and then like just position myself under it to just catch it with my mouth open. Yeah um Nelvex you have you're just you're so in tune with your inner sailor because this is Justin Justin is Nelvex Nelvex is Justin uh that I'm not even gonna make you roll for that this is the new Bill's Glen Um Alright give me a con save 12 or higher alright that's uh 17 total 14 plus three yeah and no problem you've drank so much of this it's not even an issue for you what your performance drunk yet it's just uh we're not that drunk so having grown up in the kingdom I would know about some of like the historical stuff that's really important so I would like to uh cast well in the warm-up phase before this goes in I'd like to cast uh guidance on myself as a cantrip. Okay uh just to you know get the f get the juices flowing make sure I'm feeling good get I did a warm up from the throat and then I'm gonna pretend to sing with minor illusion.

SPEAKER_06:

Is minor illusion isn't a concentration is it?

SPEAKER_02:

It is not a concentration. It is a a sound only and I can range it from whisper to scream it can be my voice and it continues unabated during the during the duration. So I'm looking for like an aria like some kind of like a really significant emotional historical piece that conveys a a victory or a loss. Maybe like the last time a royalty died and there was like a performance that some of the older generation might remember. I'm just looking to like recreate that uh hopefully not really are you looking for lure dump here or are you uh sure yeah hit me um last time a royalty was killed the king's wife probably right if when the hags were doing their bullshit yeah I mean so how long ago was that a couple years maybe yeah it's not that long ago the kid grew up a little bit since then right yeah he's a prince he's a he's he's he's he's a young man now. Yeah so I'd like to say like that was the first like real memory that Nelvax has in the city after his monastery was raised. So he came and that was like the first time he felt like he was part of something because he was there with the community doing the thing. So he's gonna try to recreate that magically not with his own which is not any better than trying to do it magic.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright uh give me a performance roll oh crap I was hoping it might be something different.

SPEAKER_02:

Well uh 16 plus zero is not so bad.

SPEAKER_06:

That that passes 15 was a save. Uh so yeah the the the crowd is cheering um you you're getting some applause and yeah good job hell yeah very cool is there another shot now or are we just you just still go just do our thing the next round is alright Harlech or Xaniver I can go or the or the Randos too.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh the Randos too there are Randos there are three randos we scream off no I don't care I can go though go for it uh so Harleck walks up onto the stage and went out and does his uh he has his his turtle shell citern thing which is you know like the size of a base for him. Uh and he was like taps it real quick to get uh silent image going and as I set it up I'm gonna create like my own little mini stage with like all kinds of crazy like lights and weird effects going on to try to amplify the show. Uh and then Harleck's just gonna sing a a good old tune that everyone's familiar with three kobolds in a trench coat yeah a Jonesy tune for everybody.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_08:

Alright uh roll me a performance oh sorry first a concert oh yeah I have to do this oh no but Harleck's so small 12 or higher you are poisoned for the next hour give me a performance roll at disadvantage fifteen or higher sixteen at disadvantage still a sixteen nice alright yeah the the cloud the the crowd applause or applauds uh you get some cheers and uh you walk off stage Xanvert so Zayn is applauding to both of them as well along with uh the crowd and probably overly loud okay still a supporter he's also drunk fair oh yeah all right uh first question what happens to the shot glasses when people are done drinking would it be something that Xaniver could swipe I you could probably swipe your own but not nobody else's okay no I was gonna see if I could swipe an empty one to pretend to drink and provide an empty glass.

SPEAKER_06:

No, as soon as it's taken another handler takes it and moves away with it.

SPEAKER_07:

Alright uh so I'll roll the con save yep I'll be a 21 to save that saves? Yeah you just gut this no poison uh so Xaniver being as deeply religious as he is is going to recount the story of his goddess who very few people have heard of uh the myth of Sara Dwin uh she's a powerful enchantress and goddess who lived with her husband uh in the Feywild with their two children a daughter named uh Siri and a ill-favored son named Warfan uh what's that oh you think you're the only one who gets the lord up oh no that's not what I sorry go ahead anyway um and so he'll go into the story of Serduin brewing a magical concoction to kind of um give rebirth to her son so that he is no longer this hideous um ill-fated child that he is uh but the assistant that she hires ends up drinking it himself and then there's a chase that follows and eventually uh she finds the assistant and slays them and that's the end of the story there isn't anything great that happens with it okay alright roll me a performance no I thought you were originally talking about like witcher lure that's why I said oh my god okay uh that's a 26 on my performance uh yeah the the crowd erupts just starts like roaring clapping their hands uh you get a few people standing up they're just they're so impressed with you yeah I think as I'm walking off I'll look over at Harleck and just say I mean I'm no two-bit bard but I feel like that was a good story.

SPEAKER_03:

Oof so Zayn overhearing that says oh don't sell yourself short you're definitely a two-bit bard he's not handling his liquor very well being uh being way too small for that big of a drink I throw a couple copper at you either way and then I do I throw some copper at him yeah I make it rain I make it hail I'm gonna soil Zan's pants with pressed digitation looks like you I'm not wearing any pants right now how do you think I perform so well by distracting them with the comedic lack of pants?

SPEAKER_06:

I don't the other three uh contestants uh walk up uh the first the first one was meh okay um and and the third one just failed miserably got booed off stage but the the second one walked up there and uh it was the very confident elf starts strumming his uh his violin or strumming starts playing his violin and he's dancing around the stage and he just starts singing oh the king is gold and queen has grace but the baker's buns run this whole damn place the nights all shine and lords all prance but it's tax day soon so drop your pants raise your mugs and give a cheer for peace prosperity and cheaper beer and the crowd just goes absolutely fucking wild starts cheering sorry go ahead nope I'm sorry I keep interrupting you first uh the crowd just goes wild starts starts cheering lit mugs are thrown up liquid just spills everywhere uh and uh on his way down he hands a few copper out so that people can replenish their beer we take little copper coin squeeze it between my thumb and my middle finger and just stick it at him you hit a sprinkler oh no what happens all right so uh after the first round uh the next two rounds are gonna go much quicker but after the first round the announcer comes back up and he says thank you for all the participants moving forward we have Xaniver not Sam Nelvax Harlek and Zomaza Alright round two we're just gonna take the shot do the rolls and we're gonna move on so Nelvax you're up first uh do I have time to have oh sorry go ahead oh for poison for drinking yeah what's up I don't even know what it was 12 total no no no no no I'm sorry you had a question first do you have time for what uh I did I was gonna ask if my my spell was maintained or if I could cast another one guidance and uh I'm gonna use jump this time I would prefer jump over guidance if I could take both that'd be great. Only one is how long does How long does guidance last?

SPEAKER_02:

Guidance lasts one minute concentration. I can recast it as a cantrip.

SPEAKER_06:

So I would say you have time to cast guidance on your way up if you would like to use that.

SPEAKER_02:

Does that mean I cannot use jump? Because I'd rather use jump than guidance.

SPEAKER_06:

No you can use jump. Jump is an action right six seconds?

SPEAKER_02:

Nope jump is a spell the jump spell right but it's a but it takes six seconds to cast right great excellent I'm gonna do that uh twelve con save no it's a 15 con save for round two well I got a 12 though oh sorry bud you have the poisoned effect oh actually you have guidance oh yeah let me just add uh d4 skill shots not saves oh a build using chosen skill sorry I do use athletics by the way totally fine I'm not immune to poison just yet that's a bummer I am the poisoned Le Poisoned Alright give me a performance roll uh so my performance is a uh series of acrobatic feats I'm using jump so that every time I flip I get higher and higher I prefer to use acrobatics but I'll do performance if you require I do well that's a bummer I have disadvantage and I get a that's not dexterity so I get nothing on that. Well I got a one and a four on the dice plus zero for one.

SPEAKER_08:

Uh just crickets you don't hear booze you don't hear applause no no none of the audience is making any sound at all unless one of your companions are oh yeah or like we're gonna be trying to to to applaud and uh and like cheer still as he's throwing up so you look over at Zane you look over at Zane and he's sitting in his chair like a sandy floor we are not he apparently cannot hold his liquor Zamar will try and give you a slow clap and see if he could build up the crowd on that but probably not with that one.

SPEAKER_02:

I imagine though I I landed like face first in the sand here uh with that kind of a score uh so as I stand up I want to take two handfuls of sand and throw them into the air and then try to just like sneak out of the stage and just stealth my way away.

SPEAKER_06:

Sure give me a stealth roll. Oh yeah uh I'm gonna that's a dexterity save so I'm gonna actually use how much I'm gonna say everybody staring at you has got to be a 13 or higher.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright well that's a 10 for now hold on uh let me just check what guidance does a D4 that might be would you say a 12?

SPEAKER_06:

13 well I got a 12 oh yeah um so you crouch you try to sneak out and everybody's just staring at you as you slowly walk off stage anything I can do watching me do silvery barbs too many times I'll use my boots of false tracks to leave the footprints of a bugbear behind me as I leave.

SPEAKER_02:

Great.

SPEAKER_06:

It's pretty good for a bugbear just saying Harleck you're up I do the do I have disadvantage on the con save too you do no not on ability check sorry not on saves sorry but it is a 15 I got a 20 hell yeah you saved but I'm still drunk you still are poisoned if you would have failed this the performance check would have been higher 18 at disadvantage that passes oh shit nice yeah the the crowd applauds uh silvery barbs I don't have it the the crowd applauds uh you get a few people standing up and yeah you're able to walk off stage alright finally Xanavert Con save 15 or higher uh I would like to use un uh unwaver uh the what the unsettling words alright yeah you you got you got it give me a performance 17 save are you really using it Ray because I got something I can use too no I'm not gonna be that I'm not gonna be an asshole 17 save that's only 15 okay uh yeah you you get uh a a couple people like murmur you hear a couple people murmuring um but they're just not that impressed they just saw a bugbear try to sneak off stage so they're just not too happy about it he almost got away with it too uh so yeah for those meddling kids and that dog of theirs right Zomaza comes back on stage elf just blows out of the park once again and uh the announcer comes back one more time and says and finally our semifinals we've got Harlek versus Zomaza okay alright Harlek uh save right please make me a con save 17 oh shit 18 alright so performance the save is 18 or sorry DC is 18 it went up even though he passed yes yeah it goes up each round but it would have gone up even higher if he failed oh a 16 you do get some cheers uh you get some applause so uh Zamaza goes up and he's gonna take a shot he also fails he rolled a 16 on his performance I feel like something like that would have been a contested because it's you versus like one player versus uh another would it be disadvantage for him because he failed his con save yeah that was a disadvantage did your your NPCs pass their saves too shit no I can give myself advantage on rolls give yourself advantage and re-roll that shit.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh can I get a guidance no outside help you can try to help him but if somebody catches you who's gonna know I I've only had three drinks alright that would have been a 24 if I used my Kenku recall. Okay never mind never mind it was uh it's specifically for Slight of hand and history right now I forgot to change it so scratch that. Did you were you trying to change it? No no no no I just saw the Kenku recall thing and then when I opened it up it had uh sleight of hand in history so I read the two skills of your choice are that you're proficient with but uh so since it was a tie we're gonna do just performance versus performance.

SPEAKER_02:

So give me a performance roll at disadvantage both of you meaning Zamaza and you so rolled a a seven you've gotta beat a seven I think he beats on in that one hold on nice I think you might have read that Rao man so that Kenku recall you get proficiency in two additional skills and when you make a check in any skill in which you're proficient you can give yourself advantage equal to the number of times so I would have been able to use that 24 then totally oh awesome regardless you do you can is there a limited number of times you can use that?

SPEAKER_03:

I can use it three times yeah proficiency times.

SPEAKER_06:

Well good enough anyway yeah Harleck uh you get it standing ovation everybody starts cheering you uh and uh you are handed a scroll uh a magic scroll of instant tenth spell and twenty gold pieces as a first place award I'm gonna like turn to the group with the scroll and the the gold like I did it guys um uh startle himself awake and or startle awake and and uh start clapping alright so sorry go ahead Novax runs up to uh Harleck and just like gives him a big hug and claps him and says oh that all that training and bars paid off huh gives him a good clap in the back of bar buddies like holds it in you are now uh automatically entered into the uh battle of the champions oh now I have to fight people it's fine you're one on one it's not a support class I mean you've killed people you kill people all the time true alright alright so uh next so real qu real quick um just in case anybody forgot I we did rest like two days so you should you should have all of your skill slots back true I'm seeing that Harlick wasn't at max HP when I was looking at the sheet yeah I did not do actually everybody except for Veniver Alright so it's kind of funny that I already mentioned this one so another announcement is made and ladies and gentlemen for the fourth time the Sams of Anarchy So the Sams of Anarchy is an event named after uh uh Sam Mooresbound uh a legendary maybe slightly exaggerated hero who once bench pressed a mammoth won an arm wrestling contest against an Earth Elemental and punched a hill so hard it became a valley that sounds right damn strength I mean come on um can uh this is generally a game of uh the the games change each year but this game specifically is a it's a it's a brawl of brute force swagger and it's just a general testosterone fueled pageantry right it's a it's a a man's man muscle game um this year uh there are three challenges the boulder toss the chain pull and the titan's table boulder toss which one was boulder toss chain pull and titan's table anybody want to sign up no box throws three gold on the table Ross will stand up and kind of crack his back and say this is this is my kind of game uh Zayn is asleep Harlek you want to throw your Harlecks gonna use uh disguised self on just his arm to make like a really ripped oh yeah no I think I'm gonna sit this one out alright so uh yeah Voss and Nelvax please subtract three gold what about Xaniver?

SPEAKER_02:

What if he wants to?

SPEAKER_01:

He shook his head no yeah we saw what happened at the windmill fair enough alright um before can I can I do a spell as I'm like walking up or just prep something before the event starts?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yes so um standing there is a well known sorry yeah standing there is a cobalt he's a well-known uh performance artist for the the kingdom and the kingdom uh entertains the crown regularly and he he's got music playing all around him from bards and he's just he's trying to pump up and get everybody excited and he goes ladies gentlemen sorcerers farmers house cats disguised as people I see you out there welcome to the glorious thunderous absolutely uninsurable spectacle known across the realms as the one the only sands of anarchy our first event is going to be the Boulder Toss who's up first is it you and he points directly down at you boss you rewards I'm sorry I interrupted again that voice hurt ya it hurt a little bit I'm not gonna lie first place is a uh scroll of giant strength that's pretty slick uh before they get started uh I have a real quick I guess meta type question if I were to give them bardic inspiration before they even go up on the stage would there be any way that that could be like found out about I know there's a lot of other bards around that's why I'm sure I figured I'd ask like would I know if that's noticeable beforehand? If you're asking meta wise I would say yes people can figure it out as outside influence that being said they would have to roll for it but yes they can they can determine that they were given help and if they don't know it was you they would still punish the player for getting that outside influence right yeah and that's a and that's more what I was trying to get at if if like if we knew that they'd be punished for it so I'm just gonna skip it then. Okay. Alright sorry guys Sams of Anarchy so this uh this cobalt is pointed down to you boss yeah you going up first uh preemptively though kind of knowing how these these things work um uh I went ahead and cast uh where's my spells protect from poison on myself okay and an enhance ability on myself choosing strength that's that's good that's good alright give me so uh standing in front of you is a uh a boulder it's marked it is a large that's a nice boulder it's a it's a large boulder standing in front of you no shot here oh apparently that's not how these things work no the last game was called the tipsy tunes oh I thought everything was had drinking involved but okay never mind apparently I don't know how this thing works yeah so as everybody knows uh the first round they've gotta throw a boulder very very far as far as they can the winner of this game will not only get a scroll of giant strength but will also be put on the wall of Sam very real wall that's uh by the bridge uh by the queen's bridge did you say your very real wall yeah very real wall I'm not gonna lie, this hurts way more than I thought it would.

SPEAKER_08:

Are you doing the uh uh vocal fry? Is that what you're doing?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah. I just learned what that was like two days ago.

SPEAKER_06:

So, as everybody knows, the winner of this will not only get the gauntlet of strength and an automatic entry into the Battle of Champions, but they will they will also make it to the Hall of Sam's. So you should probably stop doing that. I know. I can't. I gotta continue. It's a very real wall carved from marble. The winners' names are magically in engraved in their greatest flexing poses.

SPEAKER_08:

Their name in a flexing pose? Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

It's like when you're when you spell buffalo and the the letters buffalo make the shape of buffalo?

SPEAKER_06:

It's italics.

SPEAKER_02:

The city of Buffalo? Not the animal, because that would be silly.

SPEAKER_06:

Why does that hurt so much? I didn't even I I did not expect I practiced this voice in the mirror. How did you get in the mirror? It did not hurt that much. What's that?

SPEAKER_08:

How did you get in the mirror?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, you should have done it on air, not in the mirror, man. Fair enough.

SPEAKER_08:

Practice that you play, you know what I'm saying? I find it. I done it in front of the mirror, not in it.

SPEAKER_06:

The voices sometimes go with a face, and if I can keep the face, I can remember that in the future.

SPEAKER_02:

I know what you mean. Like must memory pulls the Yeah.

SPEAKER_08:

I literally just learned what local fry was, and it's the reason it is uncomfortable when you first start doing it is because you're actually tightening down on your throat so that you're it's not passing as much air through it. So it's irritating.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. It feels like a tickle right down here.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah. That's where you like it. We can get that for ya. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

First off, that's a different game. I didn't say I can, I said we can.

SPEAKER_06:

We can together. So, uh this mag this boulder uh in front of you, it is marked with a red X, and you need to toss it as far as you can. So it is at an athletics check. It is a DC-13 or higher.

SPEAKER_08:

Um it's just a DC-13.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. And he wants Voss to go first? Yes. Voss jumps right over to that boulder. This doesn't look too heavy. And uh he picks it up and uh throws it. We're an 18. 18.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you you throw this thing through the air. It starts soaring, lands very, very far away. Um the announcer just starts. Whoa! That's not a boulder, that's their ego, and they just chucked it into next week.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, nice. Give me a performance roll.

SPEAKER_01:

Performance.

SPEAKER_06:

Ooh. Damn. Yeah, the crowd is just going crazy. Where they were chairing free before, they're just going absolutely nuts.

SPEAKER_02:

I heard one clap. You said the clouds going crazy, you clapped once. Just once.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Uh Nelvax. You're up.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I'm gonna recast guidance on myself, focusing on strength as my ability.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I'm a fairly lean dude. Uh like average build, like lean, but not not not big. Uh so athletics, you say.

SPEAKER_06:

Athletics. 13.

SPEAKER_02:

Spoot of my hands, rub them on my thighs, and then reach down, grab this boulder, give it a yuck. What is it? Oh. I'm gonna add a d4 to that because that's embarrassing. Your d4 roll was uh was higher. Almost but it my d4 roll was better than my d20 roll. That's a very good note, Maddie. Uh I'm embarrassed. I got an eight total.

SPEAKER_06:

Whoa. It's uh Nelvax did not perform as well as he should have.

SPEAKER_02:

Do they have any backup boulders out of curiosity?

SPEAKER_06:

Oh yeah, there are there are boulders lined up here for all the performances.

SPEAKER_01:

Let's go up a little bit closer. I dropped the opposite of the boulder.

SPEAKER_02:

Just to like prove a point. Just like 10 damage.

SPEAKER_06:

Go for it.

SPEAKER_02:

I I'm gonna kick it in half. Kick it back.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Give me a sack roll.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh yeah. Uh 25. Well, they did get there.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. This boulder just splits in half. And uh this cobalt says like looks at you, looks at the boulder, and says, I'm uh real sorry.

SPEAKER_02:

I pull my hood up on my cloak and just like walk off stage. I feel pretty good about kicking that boulder in half, but uh tossed.

SPEAKER_01:

Voss sees his friend and goes over and pats him on the shoulder. He's like, You need to put that uh kind of energy into the throw. What didn't you hope with that?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I'm impressed.

SPEAKER_01:

Son of a bitch.

SPEAKER_06:

So uh a couple more people come up. Uh a half orc comes up and and just crushes it, throws it just as far as uh Vosta. A couple people fail, but uh in this trial, everybody moves forward. It's the greatest of three.

SPEAKER_02:

Does the distance will kick the top half of that boulder count towards my distance?

SPEAKER_06:

No. No, it does not. Let's check. Alright. So the next is the chain pull. So that announcer comes up once again. My throat is itching just thinking about this. As everybody knows, the next is the chain pool. Pretty much all you gotta do is drag this heavy stone as far as you can across the sand while we throw stuff at you. That's it. It's sand. We throw sand at you. Lots of sand.

SPEAKER_08:

Nice build. So why is it called a chain pull when you're sort of dragging a stone around? You're dragging it by a chain.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, okay. That seemed I was I was on board with that one.

SPEAKER_06:

I okay. Alright. Boss, you're first. Alright. Winners to leavers? So you're dragging a stone through the sand while sand is being dumped on you. So it's gonna be a strength saving throw.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

And it is a 14 or higher.

SPEAKER_01:

And oh, it doesn't have I don't have the thing on ability checks. So it's a strength saving throw. I don't have to do something for the pull?

SPEAKER_06:

No, it's a strength saving throw.

SPEAKER_01:

Hang on just one sec. I think I have something.

SPEAKER_06:

If you have bless.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, bless, it's a level one spell. Yeah. You can bless up to three creatures, just saying.

SPEAKER_07:

It will knock off your enhance ability though.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah. I'd have to redo uh I'd have to redo that one. Because it's yeah, concentration. But I can grass it.

SPEAKER_02:

Where's enhance ability? It's at level two. Two and three. Did I not refer spells? Level two? Ah, there it is. I see now.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, but I can also I can I mean guidance does the same thing as both you, but guidance would also knock on me.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, guidance is also only for ability checks, it's not for saves or attacks.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, excuse me.

SPEAKER_02:

Bless is a a first level spell, just for your first level slots.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, but guidance is a cantrip. Uh you can only do one or the other though, because they're both concentrations. Yeah, yeah, I can. Okay, I'll go ahead and do my uh strength saving throw, and I'll cast guidance on myself.

SPEAKER_02:

I was gonna say, are you you already have enhanced it? Oh no. Well, guidance isn't gonna help you on a save. I was gonna say I could cast it on you. I have nothing else to do. Guidance is only for an ability check, not on a save. So you start slipping and faltering.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so you start slipping and faltering through the sand, um, and and you're struggling through the first half of this. Give me another strength saving throw.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, I get to add four to that. A D4.

SPEAKER_06:

No, you don't. Guidance is only for ability checks.

SPEAKER_01:

No, no, that's what I'm saying is I'll that's what I'll use. Bless. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_06:

So it's only 14 or higher.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, okay, so it's not their mind then.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

DC.

SPEAKER_01:

You can cast it onto three creatures. But I can't cast spells on anybody else. That you know about. Strength saving throw. Uh 16.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so though you're struggling through the first half, you just muster through and you're able to pull that slab all the way across the finish line.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Poof.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. No vex.

SPEAKER_02:

Let's do it. Same thing with you. Dexterity's paint, right?

SPEAKER_06:

No, not dexterity. Strength. Good try though.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright. Uh I'm gonna use my boots of false tracks to put some more uh bugbear marks on the ground.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, great.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh seven plus four for eleven, which is not it's really it's respectable, you know. My strength save is twice as high as bosses. Just want to point that out. While I fail. And don't forget. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, that that sand in the beginning, you're just not used to that kind of terrain and you're struggling. Uh but you you pull through through the second half, give me another strength save.

SPEAKER_02:

The problem really is that bugbear feet aren't designed to uh to to make fruit and track like traction in s in sand. So I'm actually gonna change my feet to um I don't know. Uh we'll go like half work. I'm gonna s I'm gonna channel some some Zane here and do some half work. And I get a 20 on this thing.

SPEAKER_06:

You're able to pull it through all the way.

SPEAKER_02:

Hell yeah. Also, do what? Just making fun just having a good time using my items to the who would even notice my footprints in the sand. Alright, that's silly. Nobody's tracking me, probably. Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

So a couple other competitors come up. That half work just fails miserably in the sand. And the announcer comes on. Looks like we have a semi-final going on. Nelvax versus boss. Arm wrestling contest at the Titans table.

SPEAKER_02:

I'll give him a fist bump. It's a return. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So this is just a athletics contested strength arm wrestling. Uh it is the first of three wins. So three consecutive wins.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

So standing in front of you is a table. It's got uh a couple it's got the images of two like really swole arms. Like they got a pump going on, and uh it's it's an arm wrestling table, and both of you take opposite ends, and it's just a contested arm wrestling match, so it's it's athletics.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh Nelvax gives a nod to Voss, it's like, hey, winner buys drinks next, right?

SPEAKER_06:

You got it. Alright. Contested athletics.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Uh 11 plus one. I'm gonna add my guidance. 14 total for Nelvax.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, an 18.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, yeah. Voss starts to put down Nelvax's hand a little bit. Give me another one.

SPEAKER_02:

That one's a 16 total.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh.

SPEAKER_02:

I got a 15.

SPEAKER_06:

Back to middle. Give me another.

SPEAKER_02:

15 total?

unknown:

Damn.

SPEAKER_02:

Got 18.

SPEAKER_06:

Voss, you start to move up. Uh you see both of you see in the background that a shots are being poured for both of you.

unknown:

Shots are.

SPEAKER_02:

I also want to point out. Novak's lost hands.

SPEAKER_01:

A shotgun?

unknown:

What?

SPEAKER_06:

What do you try to like? Don't don't purposely misconstrue my words. You know what the fuck I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01:

Are these celebration shots?

SPEAKER_06:

No.

SPEAKER_02:

We're being put down for a little bit. Give me another roll.

unknown:

Oh no.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, we're doing another one. Oh, oh. Ooh, this is a good one. Uh 23 total. Uh I got 16.

SPEAKER_06:

Moving in the opposite direction. Both of you are handed shots and told to drink it with your opposite hands.

SPEAKER_01:

I'd do it. I drink mine too.

SPEAKER_06:

Give me con saves.

SPEAKER_01:

Is this poison? I get p I get advantage against poison checks. I got a 10. Do I am I rolling two decks or one?

SPEAKER_06:

No, just one. It's not actually poison. Yeah, it's not actually poison. Both of you have the poisoned effect for the next hour. It is not poison.

SPEAKER_01:

But I have two seconds from poison.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm using the poison effect just to. Okay, you both have disadvantage on ability checks for the next hour.

SPEAKER_00:

Hell yeah. Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So Nelvax is winning. One over.

SPEAKER_08:

There is no condition drunk.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Give me another roll.

SPEAKER_01:

I feel I feel cheated out of using a second syllable spill slot, but.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01:

I've got others, it'll be okay.

SPEAKER_07:

I have to side with Maddie on that one. Drunk is the is poisoned condition, and the smell prevents the poisoned condition.

SPEAKER_06:

No, it's not poison. I'm just saying. No. It's not poisoned, right? It's just saying I'm using that effect for disadvantage.

SPEAKER_01:

No.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Alright, what you guys roll?

SPEAKER_02:

20. What are you rolling? Concept. Uh athletics check. Athletics.

SPEAKER_01:

Yep. 20 tour. So I'll just do it not at disadvantage.

SPEAKER_06:

No, at disadvantage.

SPEAKER_01:

I didn't do it at disadvantage. I have advantage on it.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, you had dis you had advantage?

SPEAKER_01:

I have advantage on athletics on strike checks, and so I'll roll it normally. Nice. You've been rolling twice against me every time? I was. And you beat me once. I felt really bad. More than once. Why? Yeah. Yeah. Well, no, you beat me once. What gives you advantage on athletics? Yeah. I've been rolling double dice on all these. So I got natural twenty two.

SPEAKER_08:

He cast enhanced ability.

SPEAKER_01:

It's enhanced. I thought you blessed yourself.

SPEAKER_02:

I did. I cast it again. Oh, you went back and forth.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so the last one was a 22 versus. 15. Alright, yeah. You guys are back in the middle. Alright. Rapid rolls. Let's go. Come on. Keep going.

SPEAKER_02:

Disadvantage. Rolling. So Maddie's doing straight rolls now, right? Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you were doing disadvantage.

SPEAKER_02:

15 or 17? 15 plus guidance for an 18.

SPEAKER_06:

Back to Novex plus 1.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't have to roll my guidance at disadvantage, right? That'd be.

SPEAKER_06:

No, you do not.

SPEAKER_02:

I never considered.

SPEAKER_06:

Give me another.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh no. 11. Um 14.

SPEAKER_06:

Novex plus two? Nelvex, you win this roll, you win.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright. Athletics. Disadvantage.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, Voss.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh man. Uh 18 is my last roll.

SPEAKER_06:

Nelvex, you slam Voss's hand into the other side. Into the into the table. What would you like to do? How do you want to do this?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh uh, I do a fucking cartwheel. Like, I can't outstrength him really. So like I like I see we're getting close, and I just like throw my leg up over my winning side and like cartwheel over him to like advantage use my weight to my advantage to push his arm down and basically end up next to him and just give him a hug. Like I'm so happy we did this.

SPEAKER_08:

That's okay, but you earned it.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. And we have a winner, Nelvax. Here's your scroll of giant strength. And an automatic entry into the Battle of Champions. Not to mention, give me that flex.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh when he hands me the scroll, I'm gonna pretend that's really heavy. I'm like Almost drop it to the ground. Like it jerks me over my son.

SPEAKER_06:

You see a large flash just as you do that? It's like, well, uh I guess that's going on the wall of Sam.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh no. No. It's not fair. I thought you said gauntlets. As I do it, I transition into a handstand with uh like hole in the scroll flexing, but I'm upside down on the handstand.

SPEAKER_06:

Another large flash gets uh another large flash. Alright, that's much better.

SPEAKER_02:

It was almost real embarrassing forever.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. I've got uh one more contest uh for for tonight, and then next session we can plan for the battle of champions.

SPEAKER_08:

So right now we've got Nelvax and um Parlac and Nelvax are both entered into the Battle of Champions.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh man.

SPEAKER_06:

So, as what you guys don't know right now, um, or you do know, but I have not told you yet, your your characters know, that the Battle of Champions, you can either enter it yourself or you can choose a champion to represent you. So you don't have to enter yourself. You can enter somebody else.

SPEAKER_08:

Obviously, with their consent.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Another announcement is made. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Leap of Death competition. First prize is a potion of water breathing, sponsored by the Emporium of Marvelous Rarities. Um, so all of you know that this is a jump off the cliff. You need to go as far and as far off the cliff as you can to avoid the rocks below and land into the water, and you need to do it as stylishly as you can. So it is gonna be a combination of strength and acrobatics.

SPEAKER_08:

Strength and acrobatics?

SPEAKER_06:

Strength to leap off the cliff as far as you can, acrobatics or yeah, acrobatics to do a kind of a flourish or as you're diving off.

SPEAKER_02:

Is there a precedent if you've won more than one to send somebody else in in your stead for one of your victories? Because Novak still wants to play the game.

SPEAKER_06:

There is not a precedent to that.

SPEAKER_02:

We can make it.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you can make it. Most people just stop after they've won.

SPEAKER_08:

So are you allowed to use magic stuff?

SPEAKER_06:

You can still use magic as long as it's only on you.

SPEAKER_08:

So, like winged boots.

SPEAKER_02:

Has it been less than a minute since it's the first performance?

SPEAKER_06:

The judge may say something to you about that. This is meant to be a dive off of a cliff. Okay. Who would like to enter?

SPEAKER_08:

Uh Zane. It's been an hour, right? So yeah. So Zayn will enter. Xaniver?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. No, not for him. Okay. So and I'm still poisoned from the last game.

SPEAKER_06:

Is that correct? You're not. You're not no longer poisoned.

SPEAKER_01:

Is one uh you said strength and ac acrobatics, is one uh weighted more than the other?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh you do not know at this time.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh boss will stay out.

SPEAKER_06:

Boss will what?

SPEAKER_01:

I'll stay out.

SPEAKER_06:

Stay out. Okay. Novak, Zane, Harlak?

SPEAKER_02:

Novak's likes to jump with us.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh don't think this is I think the strength thing is what's uh gonna keep me out of this one. If it was purely acrobatics, maybe, but I think I'm gonna splat roll a one and uh Yeah, I'm a flightless bird.

SPEAKER_02:

It's fine, it's only concrete for like the first like quarter centimeter, that's fine.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh I'm not poisoned anymore though, right?

unknown:

No.

SPEAKER_03:

You are not poisoned anymore.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh I'll give it a shot.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh yeah, Nelvax comes up to uh Hard and gives him a pat on the the winged shoulder. Like, I can't wait to fly with you, bud.

SPEAKER_03:

Ha ha just do like a quick flap of no actual wings.

SPEAKER_08:

So is there any precedent for anybody using winged boots or flying or whatever?

SPEAKER_06:

There is not, but the judge has the final say.

SPEAKER_05:

Judge? I'm just okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, so Nelvax, Zane, and Voss, you're all entering? Not Voss?

SPEAKER_01:

Voss is not entering.

SPEAKER_06:

Just Nelvax and Zane.

SPEAKER_02:

I thought Harleck was in.

SPEAKER_06:

I thought Harleck was in too. Oh, you're in Harleck?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I'm gonna jump in and I'll give you a little bit of a game.

SPEAKER_06:

Hell yeah. Alright, three gold pieces.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Spent happily.

SPEAKER_08:

I forgot the first three. Yeah, I mean the same for.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So yeah, a large crowd gathers for the final uh and one of the most daring events of the day. Many are lying or sitting by the edge of the cliffs to not risk falling in the water below. Uh, but they want to ensure that they see where the contestants are landing in the watery depths. The event host is uh is is is young Lord uh Ronald. He's the only son of uh Lord Dizag Ronald of Ronald's End. It's a well-built he's a well-built human, a seasoned warrior, uh he's got a gentle demeanor and a compulsion to act uh benevolently by praising every contestant.

SPEAKER_02:

Have we heard him praising us yet?

SPEAKER_06:

Oh yeah, he's he's been he's been talking to everybody that comes up. He's he's commenting on clothing, torso, like uh you specifically hear him uh commenting on an elvish woman's uh figure, says, What a beautiful torso! Oh dear eternal mother, please take care of it. And he's not coming off, he's not trying to come off as creepy or or flirtatious, he's just generally praising. So um each account each contestant has to jump into the sea from the podium. Uh it requires a successful strength check or athletics uh to jump far enough from the cliffs to avoid crashing on them. Um on a successful jump, uh the contestant will gain a point. And then for every five point five points above the DC success, it's an additional point. So for instance, if it's the DC five and you roll a 10, that is two points instead of one.

SPEAKER_02:

Is it a running jump or is it a standing jump?

SPEAKER_06:

It is a running jump. On a failed check, you may land on the rocks and take some damage.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Nelvex, you're up.

SPEAKER_02:

Yo. Alright, so if I get a uh a running start, I think I get a thing for this. Step of the wind. Can I use my dash action to take the dash and double my jump distance for the turn? It's a class feature of a monk, Step of the Wind, to use a key point. You can take the dash action as a bonus action, or spend expend one focus point to take both the disengage and dash actions as a bonus action, and your jump distance is doubled for the turn. Uh sure. Hell yeah. I use the key point, I get a running start, and I uh I'll visualize that as like as I'm at full speed sprint, I go into a handstand and like both hands on the ground and just like launch myself twice as far as you would have otherwise anticipated.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, give me athletics at advantage. DC save is eight.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. It's uh eighteen total.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you launch yourself off the cliff. Is there anything you want to do in the air?

SPEAKER_02:

Um, if I didn't already cast guidance? Yes. I imagine I would have already cast guidance for probably athletics for the the dive part. Uh acrobatics. Uh I'm gonna start spiraling, spinning, and try to just time the rotations to not belly flop, really. Okay. Uh which is a nine plus guidance? A ten. Wow, that's impressive.

SPEAKER_06:

The first save is only a ten, so that works.

SPEAKER_02:

That was fucking cool.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, yeah, you successfully splash into the water. Um, there is a wizard down there of the uh tower, and he teleports you back up to the top of the cliff. Zane, you're up.

SPEAKER_08:

Alright, so you said flashy is helpful, right?

SPEAKER_06:

Flashy is helpful helpful during the dive, yes.

SPEAKER_08:

Okay. Alright, so Zane will take a running start and do a leap off of the cliff. And as he is um leaping off of the cli or diving off of the cliff, he will do a flip, and then as he's as he's coming out of the somersault, um he'll cast minor illusion and wings will sprung from his back. In an illusion, they don't do anything. Oh yeah. Just for show.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh gimme an athletics check. Oh, eighteen. Oh yeah, yeah, you launch yourself off the cliff. Acrobatics?

SPEAKER_08:

Not an advantage?

SPEAKER_06:

No.

SPEAKER_08:

How the pr uh my freaking rolls are stuck in uh sticks.

SPEAKER_02:

18's pretty good though.

SPEAKER_06:

18 is great, yeah. You launch yourself clear the rocks, um, but as you're flipping through the air doing all the fancy stuff, you kind of do a belly flop and just land in the sea.

SPEAKER_05:

Ooh. Ooh.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, Harlek. Oh, sorry, guys. Oh, I see. Oh yeah, Harleck.

SPEAKER_03:

I'm about to join Zane uh splat side down there. Uh uh, I guess Harlech in his uh circus uh days will just start like running like gymnastics desks towards the cliff and then try to do like a couple uh like uh hand springs to give himself some like vaulting type distance if he can.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Give me an athletics check. Uh an eight. That passes on the first one.

unknown:

Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

That passes on the first one. Give me an acrobatics.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh acrobatics? Alrighty.

SPEAKER_06:

It's a ten for acrobatics.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh uh Nat 20 for Nat 20. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

So you flip through the air, you do a triple somersault reverse plex fall thing. I'm sorry, any swimmers out there, I really don't know anything about that. And you land perfectly in the water without a splash.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, nice. It'll surface back up like oh man! That was nuts!

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So there's only two rounds of this. In the first round, Arlac, you have five points. Uh Nelvax, you have three points, and Zayn, you have two points.

SPEAKER_02:

Nice. Good job, team. Was there no other competition in this uh event?

SPEAKER_06:

There was only one, and it was a human who failed his uh his his strength check and hit the rocks, and he is currently being cared for by the kingdom's clerics.

SPEAKER_02:

He still lives though.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, he's alive.

SPEAKER_02:

Alright, can I buy like a healing potion for him or something? No, never mind. Nelvax doesn't give a shit about the guy.

SPEAKER_06:

I was gonna say, you're you're Nelvax, you're not Moors.

SPEAKER_02:

No, like if I knew the guy, I'd give a shit, but Nelvax, that's a stranger.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, fine.

SPEAKER_08:

How do the points work again?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh judge assigns them based off of uh distance, flourishing, and just successfully landing in the water.

SPEAKER_02:

You flourished real nice though, Bill. It was lovely.

SPEAKER_08:

I flourished nice, I also got distance, right? Because it was a Yep. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

There's one point for passing one point for every five above the required DC. And I don't know about the dive part, but that's what we were. Did I lose points for the dive?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Potentially.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Second round. Just give me an acrobatics and then a or sorry, athletics and then acrobatics. Harleck, you're at first.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh no. No that one.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so you don't push yourself far enough away and Harleck, you're gonna take

SPEAKER_03:

Oh no.

SPEAKER_06:

20 points of damage as you hit the rocks below.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh Andrew, why you so mean why you so mean Andrew?

SPEAKER_07:

Sorry, I thought it was a community game.

SPEAKER_02:

66 You give him a fireball for falling off a cliff.

SPEAKER_07:

No, that's 86.

SPEAKER_02:

Is it 86?

SPEAKER_03:

Arleck's gonna hit those rocks. Just like splat out flat feathers go flying.

SPEAKER_02:

Does he still get landing at least? Oh no. You did a great job hitting those rocks.

SPEAKER_03:

Slides off.

SPEAKER_02:

I will give a healing potion. Harlek if he wants one.

SPEAKER_06:

Harleck, you're gonna regain your full hit points.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh cool, cool.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, Novex, you're up next.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh can I still do the same thing using a key point to get my jump distance doubled?

SPEAKER_06:

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh yeah. Alright, so that's athletics at advantage, yes?

SPEAKER_06:

Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh yeah. Good fucking thing. I had a 1 and a 19 on the dice. That's uh 22 total for the distance.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you launch off.

SPEAKER_02:

This time I don't I don't fool around with any of the uh the handspring stuff. I just like full sprint straight off. Like as I'm passing off the land, I'm still running in a straight line. It's like the wily coyote thing where I don't look down until I'm already like 10 feet past the ground.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Give me a acrobatics.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Hmm. Okay. I'm gonna use my guidance. That's alright. 17 total for acrobatics.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, that passes. It's only a 12. So how do you land in the water?

SPEAKER_02:

So I'm just gonna like as I'm running, I keep like choo-choo train motioning my arms, just like uh circles with my elbows, I guess, like running, and then as like right as I'm approaching, it looks like I'm about to uh to the belly flop in and I go into the pike and I put my fingers down, my toes, and my he tuck my head down, and I just smoothly transition, not belly flopping.

unknown:

Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, great. Yeah, you land smoothly in the water. Zane, you're up.

SPEAKER_08:

Uh 19 for the athletics.

SPEAKER_06:

Damn, destroyed it. Yeah, you launch yourself off the cliff cleanly. 12 or higher.

SPEAKER_08:

And uh 12 for the acrobatics.

SPEAKER_06:

Nice. Yeah, you land smoothly in the water.

SPEAKER_08:

Way far out.

SPEAKER_06:

Way far out. Uh, so the announcer comes over one last time, says, in first place. Sorry. In third place, we've got Harleck, who unfortunately smashed against the rocks. And second place, Zane. And in first place, Nelvax. You get a potion of water breathing. Or scroll of water breathing.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh man, we didn't even ask.

SPEAKER_06:

And another automatic entry into the Battle of Champions. No gold. No gold.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, just that one competition gave gold.

SPEAKER_06:

Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

Is it potion of water breathing?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes. Alright. So I know this was uh a lot of individuals doing events and everything. It was randomized between 14 different events. Just three that came up. So three of you are entered into the Battle of Champions. Um, there's gonna be other things for the players that aren't in the Battle of Champions to do. So don't think you're not playing the next game. There's still gonna be other things for you guys to take care of. Um Nelvex, who do you want to Nelvax Harlach? Do you guys want to enter yourselves into the Battle of Champions? Do you want to give it away?

SPEAKER_02:

Nelvex will enter himself for one and uh have a conversation with his homies to see if anybody wants to join. He won't force them to, but if anybody's interested, he Nelvax does live for adventure, that's part of his backstory, is spending all of his money to just like experience shit, which is why he kept going. Um he would love to have especially Harleck with him, but you know, he understands Harleck's more of a show and tell and less hands-on for the most part. Um, and I don't think that he knows uh Zane or Voss or Xaniver as well, but you know, we've we've done a couple little shenanigans together, so he's happy to hand off one of his if anybody's interested.

SPEAKER_08:

What is the Battle of Champions again?

SPEAKER_06:

It is a 1v1 duel.

SPEAKER_02:

If there's how many entries there's gonna be three entries total?

SPEAKER_06:

Three entries for the team.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, did somebody else make it in a thing that we didn't participate?

SPEAKER_06:

Harlec one and Nelvex you won too.

SPEAKER_02:

That's three people. How do you one v1? Is it a Royale 1v1v1?

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, there are other competitors in this.

SPEAKER_02:

That's what I was asking.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. How must it'll be those three people against other people? Yes, individually against other people.

SPEAKER_02:

Like a like a tournament style progression?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes, tournament style progression.

SPEAKER_02:

Gotcha. That makes more sense.

SPEAKER_06:

Cool. The king is known to enter into the battle of champions. He has been the winner the last four years.

SPEAKER_02:

Ooh. So uh again, I'll the real winner?

SPEAKER_06:

The real winner, yes.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_06:

We don't hit the king. One. No, the real winner, yes. He's a renowned fighter.

SPEAKER_02:

Interesting. I'd love to see it. Can't wait to find out. I still will present my second winning as an offering if anybody wants to uh try their hand against potentially the king and myself.

SPEAKER_08:

And it's just a regular fight. Anything goes?

SPEAKER_06:

Anything goes. One of you won.

SPEAKER_02:

Umbax is in.

SPEAKER_08:

Zane will fight if you don't want to. Or I mean if you if nobody else wants to. Well, not if nobody else. If he sees that nobody else is going for it, Zayn will fight.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I'll give you like the the warrior's five where we clasp wrists with each other. Hang out, like give you a good shake.

SPEAKER_01:

Boss isn't super interested in going in, so Harlec, are you fighting?

SPEAKER_05:

Ah, I mean, I I could go into the fight, but if Xan or Boss wants to take up uh take up a couple of blows instead, I'm more than happy to give my ticket away.

SPEAKER_02:

If so if uh if Harleck gives his ticket away and his uh uh his second wins, do they share the prizes? It's does it still go to Harleck to figure out who like how to dispense his thing?

SPEAKER_06:

It goes to Harleck to figure out how to dispense the prizes.

SPEAKER_02:

That's a pretty good win. I got good chances here. I love this. Nelfax is in beat condition right now. This is great.

SPEAKER_07:

Uh so Xander will hear the offer, but reply, I'm sorry my friend, but I have no skill in combat. At least not within a city.

SPEAKER_06:

Maddie didn't hear me. Or he doesn't care.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm on I'm on mute. Yes, I heard you. Is it a tangent?

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Alright. Looks like Harleck. You got him into a fight.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh man. Nelvax does have a hireling that you could probably put in the fight for you. Oh my god, he's a child.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I just hired a kid off the streets, if that's preferable.

SPEAKER_01:

I actually have a spell that I can put on a young adult targeting a it's a ceremony spell for a young adult.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, I'm not offering my kid, but if you feel like if you're really not interested in fighting, they could use the experience, you know. What if they win?

SPEAKER_01:

Let me find well if they win, you get the um well, yeah. That's true. What is it? What does this one do? You touch a humanoid for the next 24 hours whenever they make an ability check. Oh, they can add a 1D upgrade.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh, I take it back. You can't touch my humanoid. I saved him, but Claret can't touch your young child.

SPEAKER_01:

No, bless you, my son. He comes back, his hair is parted in the middle. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02:

Only singling full setup.
