And Ray. I'm Ray. I play the Kenk, uh I play Harleck, the Kenku barred Warlock. And Maddie.

Hi everybody. Uh my name is Maddie. I play Voss Dane. Uh the half-elfleric.

SPEAKER_02:

Sorry, it's funny that we all have to concentrate to say the right character.

SPEAKER_00:

To make sure we don't combine multiple characters. Yeah. Yeah, definitely half-elf cleric this time. He's a big dummy, but he's fun.

Hi, everybody. I'm Justin. I'm playing Novex, the male human monk.

Spoiler! Spoiler! Man, I thought we were gonna have we're gonna have a chance to uh to to revive him, but I forget that idea. Hey listeners, he didn't make it. Almost like Andrew.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean you could revive, but it's been more than a minute.

SPEAKER_00:

Would be really messed up is if we revive him. I'll put the two characters.

SPEAKER_03:

Sorry, Andrew, you gotta go back there. I'll put some really intense RP sections sessions between my two characters if you figure out a way to revive my now very cold sorcerer.

SPEAKER_06:

Any fans out there, I will pay for the uh the fan art that you draw about Andrew's two characters RPing in quotation.

SPEAKER_02:

The sorcerer is the top. I'm just gonna throw that off direct. I believe that.

SPEAKER_06:

I feel like we have to have like a uh a dirty corner every time every episode we've got, and Ray gets to ask one question about a term that we use that we have to explain to him in detail. And today's dirty corner is Alaskan pipelines. It's like the adult Sesame Street. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02:

What's the difference between a top and a bottom?

SPEAKER_03:

Should we just open up his kid's search history and just like go through that for five years?

SPEAKER_05:

Let's not get started on that. My 10-year-old is aging much older than I thought because he makes some comments lately that I'm just like, how old are you? This is not okay. You're the awkward one. Like, stop it.

SPEAKER_00:

I got a nine.

SPEAKER_00:

SPEAKER_06:

We have alright. Andrew, give me some recaps.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh a bunch of stuff happened. Alright, so uh we had ended the previous episode to last episode uh defeating some sort of like pole arm that's been summoned. And so uh we went back to our place, we got summoned to Seinmonder, uh, who offered us 500 gold each to attend the coronation of the new queen and to kind of make sure that his guys um stayed safe. And so we were just supposed to stick close to him uh and you know, if stuff went down, make sure that the the knights that were loyal to him stayed safe and were able to escape. Uh so we did a little bit of prep work, found um somebody found like a hidden entrance uh that they were aware about. Uh but ultimately we end up going with Synmonder, we're kind of huddled around him away from the Deus, uh, when all hell breaks loose during the coronation. And so uh once she's coronated, the princess became the queen, and all of a sudden, like shifted into this just horrid mess of fee nonsense or maybe hag nonsense. Uh started spouting some just random shit, like um you're no longer allowed to have ponytails, uh, the tower now reports to her, the age of arcana has uh has come about, you know, just like random nonsense of a of a crazy person. Um and then uh she transformed about half of the guard into uh werewolves or were knights or werebears or something with a wereenights. Were knights. Uh and then chaos ensued, people tried to leave, there was a stampede, the were knights were trying to keep people from leaving. Uh, and then a fight broke out, and so the smart members of the party tried to clear the way for people to escape out one of the exits, and uh Xanover took it upon himself to try and create a distraction to divert the attention of the Wera Knights and wound up getting himself killed. And I think that's about it.

SPEAKER_06:

Does anybody have anything to add?

SPEAKER_01:

We ended up at a tavern that we escaped. Uh we're in the basement of uh one of the local taverns we frequent.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh the Lucky Leap.

SPEAKER_02:

Carrying a body.

SPEAKER_00:

Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

Xanover's body.

SPEAKER_00:

Carrying would be I mean, I don't think I would have are we heading we were heading back to the leap? I don't think I would have carried Xanover's body to the leap. I would have wanted to go back to the my character wouldn't have. I mean, yeah, I would have, I wouldn't have, if the the groups go to the tavern, I wouldn't have gone with them for that.

SPEAKER_02:

It wasn't we were hiding. We were running into the ducking into the lucky leap to get out of the off the streets. I like the chaos and stuff. We weren't going for we were not going for a drink.

SPEAKER_07:

It's a weekend at Bernie's thing.

SPEAKER_00:

Weekend at Bernie's. Okay, we figured out how to keep this character around for a while. You don't have to actually RP him at all.

SPEAKER_03:

That'd be great if I was missing the session. That'd be pretty awesome.

SPEAKER_00:

And him being the top would be a whole different set of mature content. What are you doing?

SPEAKER_02:

Um some of the rules that she said. I don't know if you want to talk about that. They're just a bunch of silly rules.

SPEAKER_06:

Um, sorry. I thought you were done with that sentence, my bad.

SPEAKER_02:

Although some of them were very overbearing. Some of them were silly, some of them were overbearing. Uh silly ones like wine must never be served cold, bread must be sliced diagonally, and then the more serious ones are divine magic is forbidden, all wealth, I think from the churches belongs to the crown. But I'm not sure. I didn't really catch on to that. And then um Unauthorized Healing is treason. And uh and then the big one, at least from Zayn's point of view, is the tower now serves the queen directly. Yeah, I think that's yeah. Oh, and and uh Novak's cast fear to crush people into the doors so because he wanted them all to suffer.

SPEAKER_01:

That's one way to see it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

I'm just kidding. I think he's just a fan of uh you know, like myth busting and and you know, so many people versus one door can get through.

SPEAKER_00:

It's so previously what forms of magic were outlawed by the tower?

SPEAKER_06:

No forms of magic were outlawed by the tower. You just had to register with the tower.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, all you had to register any type of magic. And now, even registered, divine magic is not allowed.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so divine magic, they were the the think of the the any paladins, clerics, anybody with divine magic, they were the cops uh for the tower. They're the ones that went out and enforced tower law, so on and so forth. So um they had to be registered, but they were kind of a higher status than everybody else.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

But now I didn't think Divine had to be registered.

SPEAKER_06:

No, they still registered.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh.

SPEAKER_05:

Bards were like considered like wildlings or something like that, right? They kind of just fit between the schools.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Bards, druids, typically overlooked.

SPEAKER_00:

And rangers, I think, was we had talked about as well, too. Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, because most classes have some form of magic. But honestly, who would play a ranger?

SPEAKER_00:

Right? Desperate, desperate interactions. Oh man.

SPEAKER_06:

Somebody that just wanted some social interactions. Yeah.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

Somebody at their last end looking at taking the big jump or playing a ranger and living it on a day.

SPEAKER_06:

Any questions before we begin? Alright. So, Andrew, you get some heroic inspiration.

SPEAKER_03:

You, I will not use it.

SPEAKER_06:

I know. So the streets outside. Uh like Andrew said, you guys just walked into the Lucky Leap. Uh, the streets outside are still thick with smoke, and it just started raining when you arrive at the Lucky Leap. The door is shut heavily behind you, muting the chaos, everything that you heard from the uh castle uh courtyard. But the silence that follows is is no less heavy. Uh between you, Voss is uh Voss is is carrying the body of your fallen companion Xanover. Um his clothing is blackened with fire, his face is pale in the lantern light, and every step that you take into the Lucky Leap, you can hear the sound of your boots on the tavern floor echoing too loudly. Uh Risio Tan hurries forward, his grin gone. Uh Risio is the owner of the Lucky Leap, if you do not remember that. His hands ringing nervously at his cloak behind him, uh the the knights that were able to escape, and Lord Sidmander are are gathered in in this main in the main room of the Lucky Leap, along with some patrons that are there. And one by one each of the uh each of the knights removes their helms and and bows down in and no one speaks. The only sound is the faint drip of rainwater from outside of the tavern itself.

SPEAKER_00:

Alright, who are they bowing down to?

SPEAKER_06:

Xanover. Oh.

SPEAKER_00:

You said the knights, these are just the other the other folks that are there.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh the knights, yeah. The knights uh uh Lord Zanmander and his knights. Okay, yeah, okay. And so Risio leads you to a back room where there is a a long table and he gestures for you to place Xanover's body there.

SPEAKER_00:

Um yeah. Uh Voss will walk over and um we'll set him down. He's he he's very solemn and he's wanting to uh take some time with his friend, knowing that he's gone, but he he still wants to have an opportunity to pay his last respects. Okay. But he'll he'll set him down there there for now. Maybe start like arranging him, like trying to position him in a you know, comfortable looking kind of way. He'll remove like any bolsterous garb like his backpack or like an equipment belt, and he'll he'll set those off to the side or put him in his in his backpack for now. And just kind of lay him there. Maybe remove any like completely destroyed clothing.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, uh Harleck will do like press and digitation to try to clean him up as best they could to try to like you know make them look at least kinda peaceful.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. So with the body on the table, three clerics step forward. Uh these are clerics that were in the courtyard with you. Their robes are torn um and bloodied from the coronation itself. Their faces are pale and obviously they're exhausted. They have uh thrown everything they can to get the knights that they could to the lucky leap and escape from the coronation alive. Um Father uh uh Solem is an ageling tiefling priest. You have seen him around town, you're familiar with him. He raises a cracked holy symbol of light, and he he he starts chanting over the body. Uh one of the other priests, barely a more than a boy, kneels at Xanaver's side, his hand shaking as he lights candles at the corners of each of the tables. The three of them take the place in a triangle shape, and they start praying together, and you can feel the magic in the room as uh these weaves start threading together, and one by one they call upon their gods, light, darkness, renewal, life, and the air hums heavy. After a few moments you can see that the candles sputter, uh their flames are are barely keeping lit, and then the holy symbols on the uh symbol of light that that Father uh Solemn raised glows faintly and then dims. Uh the the older the the elder priest eventually lowers his symbol and hangs his head low, and he starts shaking his head and he turns. And who's in the room right now? Boss.

SPEAKER_01:

How big is this back room? Yeah, I think it probably would be there.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay, it's about a ten by ten.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. If we can for Zane too, poking through the door at least.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Yeah, uh four of you roll me an insight check. Zane got a five. Eighteen. Ooh. Oh, snap. What'd you get, Voss?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh seventeen.

SPEAKER_06:

Seventeen. Okay. Uh everybody but Zane. Uh you you can see that that Father Solemn, he's you can see the the look of him being ashamed. He's he's ashamed that he failed and that he didn't have the the the energy, the spells, and just the the he didn't have anything left to give to bring back your friend. And he turns, and you hear all of you hear him utter, The gods are not answering. Not through me, not tonight.

SPEAKER_00:

I think Voss is he's usually the first person to make even a uh a stressful situation or a down situation like Jovial. He he's he's definitely not feeling it. He was in one other situation with Xanover, where Xanopher went down, and in his mind he's still waiting for him to like spring back to life, and so hearing this is gonna hit him even a little bit harder. And if he he was he was sad before, but now he's even just more sad. Sad squared.

SPEAKER_06:

Sad squared. Any other reactions to Xanover? Oh, sorry, go ahead, Matt.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh no, he he's just he he's he's he's he came into the lucky leap half expecting them to get back in and him to to bounce back. You know, that they did this once before, you know, fight in the mansion or battle buddies never truly go away. But uh yeah, he's he the fact that that's not happening this time is is really kind of put him through the emotional numbers.

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Um so Zane's uh emotional output is a little bit different. He's kinda used to losing people that he's you know around. Um he usually more for uh fuel for vengeance than anything else. Just adding it to the long list of wrongs that have been committed. And uh we'll use it as fuel for that. More anger because he because he needs more things to be angry about.

SPEAKER_06:

So Zayn is a lot like you, Bill, where you have one emotion.

SPEAKER_05:

Pretty much, yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, I think Har Harleck's gonna be like um you know, quiet for a change, I guess. And you know, he's kind of just messing around with his Saturn because at this point Harlex's kind of lost everyone before this group, and since joining up and hanging out with you guys, it's been a much more tame, you know, no one's died in a long time. So it's it's hitting him pretty tough. So he's just you know fiddling with his saturn and not knowing how to how to get past the the loss of a friend again.

SPEAKER_01:

He had just been in there like seconds before, uh like fighting and Xanover is so close to escaping, it seems safe, so he jumped and he feels kind of responsible like he didn't protect his friend. He doesn't really understand what happened. Like he was fine. I just I was just there.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Um the the Xur just kind of lays there. Xander has no emotions towards us. Daily dick. Uh yeah, the the the the clerics move forward and they start prepping the body um to give it last rites. And uh Lord Seinmonder walks up to you all and he says, I'm sorry that we could not protect him. I'm sorry we lost another brother to this curse.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh Nelvax looks to him and uh you know puts out his hand. Black pulls men do like the comrade hug, like one hand between a chest and then like like tapping the back with the other hand. He's like, I know you had your share of losses too. This is a rough day for all of us.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Um while while you guys are um while you guys are mourning the loss of your friend, the the door between the lucky leap or the the the main room of the lucky leap in this back room are is open, and you can hear uh though it's quieter than normal, you hear something is is going on out there. Um you hear a bunch of it sounds like children laughing. And but probably drunk children. Like it is loud and it is kind of ruining the mood that you're uh that you're all feeling at the moment. And it's it's it's like uh they don't really understand. What's going on here? They have no idea what happened outside. They are still just carrying on with themselves.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh Voss will kind of turn to the group and say, well guys, you uh think we should head back to the the mansion. This is this has been one heck of a day, and I feel like I could use a drink.

SPEAKER_01:

Getting out of town seems like a good idea.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh Lord Sidmander walks up to you and he says, Please, I I know that you just suffered a loss, but I think you can help us still. There's only if if we run now, there's no saving the kingdom.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh Zanel say who who said anything about running. We're just gonna regroup and gather our intelligence, figure out what we're gonna do next, and make a plan.

SPEAKER_04:

We gotta do something with Xan, right? Can't just leave him here.

SPEAKER_06:

If you're worried about last rights, the clerics will take care of that.

SPEAKER_00:

We uh we have a we we have a nice place at the uh the the house we were gonna be good. There's a there's a cemetery out back. I'd I'd think that's where he would most enjoy to be. Unless anybody else would happen to know a better what would he want?

SPEAKER_02:

Zane will say that that sounds good. I I guess. I don't know anything about the whether he'd be happy there or not. Or that we had a graveyard in it. But we do now.

SPEAKER_04:

Surprise!

SPEAKER_00:

Surprise. I mean, what mansions don't have graveyards built into them?

SPEAKER_03:

I select that as one of my special facilities.

SPEAKER_05:

Do we do we know if Zan had like any type of close ties outside of the party that might want to, you know, chime in on some of this?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh probably the only one that would know would be Voss. Maybe Nelvax.

SPEAKER_00:

Voss doesn't have any connections to uh I he I think in Voss's mind he intends to he's he's got a lot of stuff that he needs to reach out to his mother and chat about um to get some more info, and I think this would be on that list, amongst others. Oh, we can do that. We can do that later.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Alright. Um Risio says to you all if you m if you must go home, I understand. Uh please, please, as soon as you're in a place, reach back out. We we have I I think I have an idea, and I could really use your help with this. Um also on your way, be careful. They're they're likely going to be looking for you.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh, Risio, would you be interested in joining us outside of town? Might be slightly safer than being here if they're gonna be hunting for us, because if they're looking for us, I'm sure they're looking for you as well.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh no worries there. That's uh Lucky Leap has its own secrets. They won't find us. What would you all like to do?

SPEAKER_00:

Um probably head back to the mansion, take Xanover's body there. Bury him, have a couple drinks.

SPEAKER_02:

So I would say we do some kind of method of disguising between you know, altar safe, self, minor illusion, disguise self, all those different things to make ourselves look different. They combine between all of us, we have enough to disguise everybody.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I've got disguise self. Same.

SPEAKER_02:

So I've got altar self, so okay. And minor illusion.

SPEAKER_00:

Got hold person, will that work? Oh, I could uh pop the thing.

SPEAKER_06:

You don't have to run faster than the bear, just faster than your friend.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. I have invisibility. I can I can give somebody invisibility for up to an hour.

SPEAKER_02:

All I can do is spider illusion for anybody else.

SPEAKER_06:

So you guys are heading back out of the main door?

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, actually, I've got I can do this for up to three targets.

SPEAKER_01:

Did Simon actually tell us what he wanted us to do? He's not. Yeah, I think it's an uh Zayn. Fuck. Novax. Novex would ask about that. Yeah, what are you guys thinking? Uh sign, uh I I don't think I heard what your idea was. What is it that you think we can help you with?

SPEAKER_06:

That's it's uh it's a long tail. Uh I I it's a long tail. I we're gonna need some time, we're gonna need to save space to do it. So if you wanna recuperate and and take a second for your fallen friend, I understand. Just send for me when you're ready.

SPEAKER_01:

Ready for what?

SPEAKER_06:

When you're ready to get shit done.

SPEAKER_01:

You'll uh look at the the gang. I'm trying to Well in the back room still, I think, right? So you guys would all hear that exchange.

SPEAKER_02:

So Zayn will nod and well he would say after we lay our friend to rest, then come see us in the morning, we'll be ready to move on at that point, is kinda how is his his saying. That's what he says.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Not really sure whether or not anybody else agrees, but I get you're good with that though. So Okay. Yeah, once we that's what he would say. Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

So for getting for getting out of the town, here's what uh Voss would like to do, you know, party is quilling. Um I will cast uh disguised self on myself. Because that's how that spell works, and I'm gonna turn myself into a uh what looks like a really like long face with a top hat, like Undertaker type character. Um very scraggly skinny wearing all black. Um and doesn't you know doesn't look like he just looks like a commoner person, but very much like a a grave uh a gravedigger essentially. Um and then I'll also cast uh invisibility on Nelvax and uh Harleck. How about that? I think we do it that way. And then uh as the the gravekeeper, he will pick up uh the body and uh start kind of heading towards the door. What's once the party's ready to leave? He's not like rushing out by any means.

SPEAKER_02:

So Zayn seeing that will basically you you said you took the guise of a grave digger, so Zayn will kind of follow that lead and look like change appearance and look like a a helper. So basically changes clothes, changes stuff to just his appearance to just look like a a larger human that's uh basically there to carry stuff. Not very strong at it, but he's that's what he'll look like. All show. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh okay. So um Monty. Not Monty, Voss. Sorry. Better five years. Forgot to rewire some brains here. Um Voss, as you as you step out into the main lobby, uh you once again hear that cackling. And um you it he's it's in a corner table, and you just catch it out of the out of the corner of your eye. Roll me a perception check.

SPEAKER_00:

Perception coming right up. Ooh. 21.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so yeah. Uh you you see him out of the corner of your eye, a a large towering figure, uh, seated around a bunch of comparatively child-shaped frames, and you now recognize all that chuckling and high-pitched uh high-pitched laughter as gnome sitting around a large Goliath. And uh you recognize this Goliath from your from your days past as uh as your longtime friend Eldvar, or at least acquaintance Eldvar.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I see what I can do here. I don't want to blow my cover. Um Voss will kind of see him, but it no that he doesn't want to ruin his disguise and so they can make it safely out of the town. Uh so he'll uh as he's walking out, grab one of the uh barmaids as he's like heading towards the door, and he's gonna slip her a note uh and request that she passes that to uh Eldvar? Did I say that right? Yeah, Eldvar. Yep. Um and he'll give uh Eldvar uh the rough directions on how to to get out. Um and he'll sign his uh he'll he'll sign at the bottom instead of just Voss, Dane. He'll say he'll sign it uh Vossi. Because he knows that's Eldvar will understand it's really coming from him. Okay. And not some barmaid. And he'll he'll also slip her a couple silvers while he uh is doing that to help her get out or help her get the note to him to encourage.

SPEAKER_05:

I honestly thought you were like flipping your like contact info to her, like real slick. Like, hey, maybe my message locations.

SPEAKER_00:

If you want to come to the our mansion as well, you should stop by. No. Uh he's just gonna send a note and ask her to deliver it to Elvar. Okay. And I'll take away five silver from my uh bag. Perfect.

SPEAKER_06:

Um so yeah, the moment you turn your back, you hear Elvar from the Barmaid as she runs up to the Goliath.

SPEAKER_01:

That guy over there.

SPEAKER_06:

And uh and you see her pointing towards you and handing him the note.

SPEAKER_00:

I'll be walking out the door at this point. He's gonna be really confused, but seeing a grave grave carrier with a body heading out the door, but anyway.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Uh so Eldvar, you are handed a slip of paper with a with directions not really telling you where they are, but it is signed Vasi.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh so Eldvar is gonna receive this note, and you know, kind of as the commotion happens, that like someone is you know pointing at him and then pointing at this disappearing figure holding a body headed out the door. Uh, he's gonna stare at the note for a very long time and try to like actually read this thing. Um but he eventually pieces it together, uh, that he is supposed to go somewhere. And uh he is going to in gnomish excuse himself from the table. He's gonna drop five gold uh to the gnomes that I'm not sure anybody is gonna be around to see. Uh and then he'll whisper something to them in gnomish and then proceed out the door. Alright.

SPEAKER_06:

And the rest of you are following Voss.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm helping Voss carry the body, so yes. I'm invisible first. So we don't know. Yeah, God knows.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh I think they're Elvar, you open the door to the tavern as you see uh two two individuals carrying a body around a corner.

SPEAKER_03:

The optics on this. Luckily, um as slow as Voss moves and as quickly as Elvar moves, he's just gonna kind of shadow them the entire way and kind of follow the the directions and also follow them and just kind of track them uh on the way back to wherever it is they're going. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

So um the the the storm outside hasn't eased at all. Uh you can see the this lightning splitting the sky. Uh, it's almost like the Mother Nature itself is is really setting the tone based off of what happened in the courtyard and and this curse that is spreading in in the kingdom itself. Uh the streets are are slick with rain. There's water everywhere, the cobblestones are wet, every puddle is reflecting torchlight and flashes of thunder, and the city itself feels empty. Uh the usual clatter of carts and taverns is gone, and it's replaced by just the rain pouring all over the city. Um and in the distance you can hear the faint clank of armored boots. Oh. Zane, do you have a question?

Uh as we're going, every few minutes, Zayn will cast Minor Illusion to basically do a uh similar to our person carrying a body, another one going a different direction, like around another corner, and basically just kind of doing that to lead people so that they see other people carrying bodies, so it's not just a single pair of people carrying a body. There are other people that will see that so that it's not leading back to our house.

So I don't know. If he was following us and actually keeping eyes on us, it probably wouldn't trick him. So it's not like we're the only ones carrying bodies, right? So it's not because he doesn't know that uh I've also got directions.

Yeah, I've also got directions. So like every time I see a five-foot cube individual walking off with or two individuals walking off with a body, I can like look at my sheet of paper and like that's not the right way. And then just continue following Voss that's you're like six foot, right, Bud?

Yeah, so the the whole point is to make more of them so that it's kind of distracting.

Alright, so with the streets being empty, it seems like it should be easy for us invisible guys to notice we're being followed since we're on the like we were specifically warned to watch out for danger.

Yeah, I think uh when Novex thought he'd he'd step up forward to the guys that are uh carrying Xanifer and say, uh, we got a tail. And you just you guys hear this disembodied Xanopher voice.

Well, it's the uh the the giant from back at the bar.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, I don't know if he's a giant, but he's pretty big.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, don't you know worry about him so much. He's he's he's an old friend of mine. He'll he'll join us at the mansion. I'm sure he'll just meet us there.

Okay. Uh I don't exactly want to get jumped on these streets. And he's like just talking randomly, like, as if he was talking to uh to Zane, but so everybody can hear.

Zane will just kinda nod along with what he's saying, like he's a basically just a dumb hired hand.

So up ahead of you uh on on the street that you're walking, you see a group of individuals walk in the inner walk through the intersection into the main road that you guys are are walking, or into the road that you guys are walking down, and the one in the front is holding an object, and he looks at it and then looks towards all of you, and he points in your direction.

SPEAKER_02:

Do we recognize this person? Okay, does Zane recognize this person? I don't know what anybody else is gonna recognize.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh it is dark. Do you have dark vision? Yes, I do. I know. Uh so you have dark vision. Uh it's a little far away, but you can see the outline as lightning flashes, and you can see that it is one of the wear knights. Zayn will say we might have we might have trouble ahead.

How many of them are there in this like group, this party? Six. I don't know if that's actually gonna be much trouble. Uh do we see a side tree that we could possibly like duck into?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so we're gonna go into a skill challenge. Okay, so as the Wernights turn to you, uh with the the one in the front leading, carrying that object, he turns to you, he you can you can see him point in your direction, and you see them start walking walking towards you. Uh, and they are Yeah, they're they're steadily walking towards you. They're about 300 feet away from you. Zane?

SPEAKER_02:

Um would Zayn know have any idea what the object that he is using is? Like Is there some kind of common thing that they have that the government has?

SPEAKER_06:

You wouldn't expect it yeah, you wouldn't expect it seeing me, but with my ashen gray skin and my kind of darkened armor, uh, the shadows kind of envelop me, and I just kind of slip behind a like into an alleyway and watch what's going on between the party and whatever's ahead of them.

I'm I'm proficient in stealth and I'm wearing mithril plate, so I don't have any disadvantage.

Uh you're seeing them on the rooftops uh on the street you're at. They're not directly above you, but they are running in your direction.

So I think I'll uh say loud enough for you guys to hear that I'm gonna try to distract the bad guys. And I'll run towards the nearest building and try to acrobatic use acrobatics to uh test my ability to flip up to the top and get up towards the roof area so I can start drawing their attention.

Yeah, pass without trace is a 30-foot sphere. Invisibility is forever. Or as long as I stay concentrated, which I am so far.

I I'm I'm trying to figure out like see if I if I recognize what it is so I can figure out a way to get a to what in boss is mine. He wants to be able to continue to use his magic, but evade uh you know, understand more about this item so he can use his magic in a way that it's not detected.

Um the from what you see, uh you know that you can see that it's a small uh it's a small item that's being that that can be held in one hand, and um he keeps refer uh the the the lead where knight keeps referring down to it and then looking in your direction. Yeah, it's nighttime. Uh it's a city, so there are some uh magical lights in the city itself, but uh they're they're few and far between because of how expensive it is. So uh the the lightning flashing you can see every couple seconds for where they are, but you can't I would say that you wouldn't be able to shoot an arrow with proper aim.

SPEAKER_05:

Right, right. Okay, that kinda makes my original plan a little harder since I don't have dark vision and I can't see that well. Um my goal would be to try to stay close to um Voss and Zane. Um but they're they're like coming right for us, right? Yes, they are heading directly towards you. Uh uh, and they're is are they in like a big bunch uh aside from the ones on the roof?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes. They are uh a a six knight pack.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay. Well, I'm going to try since I'm currently invisible and I don't have a lot of great options. I'm gonna try to use Nathar's mischief on the bulk of them, primarily the one that has the items. Okay, what does that do? Uh so I fill a 20-foot cube within range with uh Faye and Draconic Magic, and uh I have to roll a D4 to see what effect it is. Uh but they're either gonna, you know, if they fail, they can be blinded or you know slowed, a bunch of different things. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, so it's a what kind of save is it?

SPEAKER_05:

Uh I gotta check. I think each one has its own thing. Oh, got it, got it, got it. So I got D3, so that would be. So each creature in the 20 foot cube must must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or begin giggling until the start of my next turn. Uh giggling creature uh is incapacitated and uses all of its movement uh and starts moving into a random direction.

Okay, so you're focusing on the main pack in the street.

SPEAKER_05:

Yep, and I'm trying to get as many of them as I can in that, but I definitely want to get the one with the item.

Um is Eldbar smart enough to kind of pick up what's happening where these uh War Knights are tracking the party. Roll me an investigation check. It's not gonna go well. Uh let's see. Do I get no no bonus for my investigation? So that's a three. Okay. It passes.

There are doors leading into houses, and off of this alley, uh 15 feet in front of you on the right is another side street that you can go into, and then 30 feet on your left, there's another side street. Um but other than that is a it's a relatively I would say 15 feet wide alley slash street.

SPEAKER_02:

Do I see any of the wolf things?

SPEAKER_06:

You don't see any of the wolf things in this alley.

So I guess realistically, I don't know where anything is except for uh Voss. Correct. And you said I saw where knights or wear things on the um roofs? Roofs? Roofs?

On the roofs, yeah, running towards you. But in the alley right now you don't see them.

Um how to get away from something without using any of my skills. So I'm trying to think of something. Give me a second. Um what skills have been used?

SPEAKER_06:

Dealth, deception, acrobatics, investigation, and intimidation. Um so off the top of my head, a few things that uh you could probably do is like um maybe history to recall how the city's laid out. You guys are from here, so I would also allow survival for that. Um to to pick the best way through the city. Maybe Arcana to try to avoid any magical the magical tracking tool itself. It's gotta have some magic associated with it. So maybe you'd be able to pinpoint that.

SPEAKER_02:

Just trying to figure that out. Arcana, or I was thinking sleight of hand, maybe to make one of the um hand carts distract the uh wear knights by rolling it down the alleyway.

SPEAKER_06:

It probably wouldn't be sleight of hand.

Now you I could see using sleight of hand to like toss, I don't know, coins or pebbles to create a noise, trying to draw the pack somewhere else.

And it's a Warenite leaping off of a a rooftop, and his mouth is open and he's he's lunging directly at you. Give me a dexterity saving throw.

Okay, um well it's like I'm trying to see where the guards are and like I I'm considering perception under perception. Seeing where they are, figuring out like what path will keep them out of sight of the guards.

I do have uh the eyes of the eagle, which give me advanced perception checks that rely on sight. Does that apply here? You have dark vision? I do have dark vision. Then yes. Alright. Um, so what you see in front of you, uh, two werewolves have come out or jumped down from the roofs directly in front of you. There's a werewolf between all of you that tried to attack Zayn, and Zayn was able to roll out of the way. So as he looks like he's trying to like throw his cloak off, he uh pulls out a his shield and his mace, and he's just going to swing at the werewolf. Uh aiming right for its head. Okay. Yeah, each of the werewolves they kind of stiffen where they're standing, and their uh their their claws are start twitching against the cobblestones almost as if they're playing a piano, and uh they open their their maws or their their jaws to howl, and instead uh the sound just like it's it's a cracking, uh breaking sound as the storm rages overhead, so you really don't hear anything. So now all of their attacks and saves are at minus four or one d4, right? Subtract it. Yep.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay. And then I'm in melee range of this guy, right? You are. Okay. Uh I am going to I guess we'll just stay put or no, I'll risk the opportunity attack and try to run a little bit towards this way.

SPEAKER_06:

He is going to take that opportunity attack at you. And it's a minus four, so that is a 17 minus 2 for a 15. Is that it? It does not hit. Okay. Yeah, he swipes at you, but he slips on the concrete and and and uh barely catches himself.

So as I I hop over this first were knight, I come up and I punch him in the face, and then I uh with a right, like a right jab, and then I try to do a like a left hook into his stomach, but he backs away from me. So I uh pop up into the air and spin my body round and like snap my foot into his face and just drop him.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Awesome. Yeah, the werewolf collapses to the ground. Um you hear a sickening snap as your as your foot connects to it, and uh it just drops to the ground lifeless and limp. Is there anything else you'd like the new Nilvax?

Uh yeah, I'm gonna stare down Werewolf D and just like s give him mean the mean mug with eyes and then just point at him.

Okay. That'll be it. Alright, so yeah, you guys hear werewolves uh howling and hooting, and they're getting obviously getting closer to you. And uh you hear a large commotion at the entrance to the side street that you walked into, and you see a large pack of the were knights start coming into the the side street. And you can also see on the rooftops around you that were knights are starting to show up on them. Uh but Werewolf D is gonna take a swing and a bite at Nelvax. That is a 19. 1914. Uh it's only a minus one, so it's an 18 hit. Still hits. So yeah, you feel his teeth come down and they crunch on you onto your arm, and you're gonna take 10 points of damage.

SPEAKER_01:

Does that include bludgeting piercing or that is piercing damage. Alright, I'm gonna take a reaction to deflect the attack and reduce the axe total damage by one D ten plus nine. Reduce that damage by fifteen.

Well for uh for a melee attack, it has to be within melee range. For a range attack, I think I can use 60 feet that I can see. So as his mouth starts to close down on my shoulder, uh I just jam my you know trained hands into its mouth and like punch it in the mouth, inside its mouth, enough to deflect its chompers from getting me.

SPEAKER_06:

And that is way better than the deflect attacks in 2014.

SPEAKER_01:

Actually, it's just a two-finger punch, just poof, right in the inside of its uh pallet. Like not today, motherfucker. Okay. I use that same ability in the King's tournament as kills the goblin. Alright.

Uh Eldvar. Alright, uh, so Eldvar sees Werewolf D about 10 feet north of him.

Um, kind of harassing Delvax and Voss. And so he's gonna slide up around the right side of Voss to get up in melee range of Werewolf D. And he is gonna start with uh just dropping his left hand off his uh greatsword, and he is gonna try and just grab the werewolf by his throat and slam him down to the ground, so that will be an unarmed strike and then a push if I'm successful.

SPEAKER_06:

Alright, give me an attack.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh so that's a 23 to hit.

SPEAKER_06:

That does it.

SPEAKER_03:

And so he now needs to do a DC 15 strength or deck saving throw to avoid the shove. Uh he rolled a 17.

Alright, so he is minus a D4? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right. Uh minus one. Okay, so he he manages to slip from my grip.

Yeah, he's trying. Uh so the I I moved the wrong token apparently. Um so he manages to slip from my grip, uh, and I'm not able to complete the shove. And now infuriated by this, I'm going to try and smack him with my greatsword.

Yeah, uh, even though he's clambering on the the the the uh the ground below him and he can't get any kind of real grip, he's able to raise his hand or raise his paw up high enough to deflect your sword.

So as he raises his paw, I do graze his fingers and shear them off, and he takes four points of slashing damage uh with my weapon mastery.

SPEAKER_06:

Jesus. I've still been pointing at him this whole time. So I'm gonna take a step forward and do a like a finger jab into his chest and see if I can't put him down that way. That'd be sweet. Okay. Uh with a unarmed strike. Uh 20 to hit. He does hit. And that'll be 12 finger poke damage. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

And tell me how you take werewolf. Uh this ware knight out.

SPEAKER_01:

So he had turned to look at um Eldvar. So I have my fing uh right finger still pointing at him. I'll grab him by the shoulder with my left hand, and as he turns to look at me, I just dab two fingers right at the bottom of his throat. And I push it a little hard, I punch all the way in, and he just starts gurgling blow it out. Oh. And like clutching his throat as he falls backwards. Awesome. Um, so I look around, it looks like we have a fairly free escape route to the north. I think. Correct. Okay. Um, so as a bonus, I'm looking to see if I can cast darkness around us and then move it with us as we run. Just but I think that's a darkness is a full. Um Okay, it is completely dark out besides the lightning strikes. Yes. It is, cool.

SPEAKER_06:

Then I mean there are a few lamps in the on the streets, but not not nearly enough.

SPEAKER_01:

But in general, it's dim lit dimly lit or dark. Okay. Um then as that thing drops away from my outstretched finger, I'm gonna take the uh shadow step uh bonus action, which while I'm within dim or dim light or darkness, I can use a bonus action to teleport to an unoccupied space that I can see that's also in dim light or darkness, and I'll have advantage on the next immediate attack I'm uh so I'm just gonna teleport up out of the streets onto a the corner of one of these roofs, uh northwards, so I can You do have dark vision, I'm assuming.

And he's realizing to himself that they're kind of quickly getting unnum outnumbered. Yep. Uh and uh so he's uh Voss is going to uh look to the group and say, It appears that we might not win this one after all. I think we should head out. Um and he is going to go over to uh let's see, I have to look at my action or my movement speed. Whew, it's low. Uh so I am going to walk down to pick up um Xenophur. One dropped per corpse of Xanopher. Okay. Uh so he's gonna walk down, pick up Xenopher. That's gonna use ten feet, and uh then I'm only gonna be able to move another ten feet back. But while I'm I'm there picking up Xanopher, well, can I pick up Xanopher and still cast a spell, or is picking him up gonna be my action?

SPEAKER_06:

Uh I'm gonna treat it as a weapon so that would be your action.

I think that's it. Yeah, so these wereoles are definitely moving in closer, and you can hear the hooting and hollering of these creatures as they're running towards you. Uh some of them are jumping off of roofs now as they're landing in the alley. And they're just all making a beeline towards you. Uh, you cannot see because of fog or cloud, you can't see the uh the main pack that was running at you, but they you can hear them through the fog. Alrighty. Alright.

SPEAKER_03:

Back up top, Eldvar. Alright, uh, so Eldvar uh sees his buddy Vossi kind of like trying to get this body moving down the road, but moving very slowly. Um, and so he is going to run over to Voss. Over his left shoulder, he'll throw the corpse, over the right shoulder he'll throw Voss, and then he is just going to sprint north. And so I've got a 540-pound um carrying capacity, yep. Carrying capacity, because I'm a Goliath, and so I count as large, and I'm just yoked out to unbelief. Uh so I think I can carry them at normal speed, and then as a bonus action, because I'm still uh concentrating on my uh expeditious retreat, I can dash, and so I can cover 70 feet down the road with both of them over my shoulders.

SPEAKER_02:

And that's gonna be the extent of my turn, just to uh expeditiously get the fuck out of here.

So he'll use his movement speed plus his his movement speed again to move forward 60 feet. And I think my bonus action is nothing. So give me a s one second. Yep. My bonus action is nothing. A Kenku weighs between 90 and 120 pounds. Yeah, but small creatures weigh like 20 to 35 pounds. 90 to 120 pounds. That is the DM guide.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, so I cannot carry him, because I can carry 100 pounds.

SPEAKER_06:

A 90 pound tacos are 20 pounds. I mean, there are some kids that need to get away from the tacos.

SPEAKER_05:

I was gonna say, uh the I'm seeing the same thing, but that's it's not saying it's not giving a differential. It's saying like the Kanku's are averaged around five feet, but that doesn't give you the same because now they give you the variant options of being small. So it probably would be smaller, but they don't actually have a ruling for it, it looks like.

SPEAKER_03:

Or we just stick with your 90 pounds, so you got like a double chin under your beads. Yeah, like a penguin-shaped cancell.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh so according to the DM guide, yeah, you typically take about three-quarters for a small. So 50 to 75 pounds.

SPEAKER_05:

Okay. Yeah, so I'd be like 75 to 80 pounds.

SPEAKER_02:

Technically, I could pick him up and fly with him, but it would be right at the outer edge.

SPEAKER_06:

It'd be really funny for you to lift up a bird because he can't fly on his own.

SPEAKER_02:

Pick up a bird and fly with it because he can't. So, but I didn't I just assumed that Harlick was too big for me to carry.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh, Nelvax, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, so uh along those lines, that's what I was trying to like suss through in my own head. Like, I can he's like right on the cusp of me being able to carry him. What did we land on for his weight?

SPEAKER_05:

I think with my pack and if I'm around like that 50, 60 pounds thing, with the everything being in the bag of holding, it'd probably be around like 80 pounds total.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. I can't carry you then. That's a bummer. Because I've got too much shit on. In that case, uh, this is probably a no, but just I need to ask anyway. The my ability to uh shadow step from one place to another in the darkness is can I do that with an ally? It doesn't say that I can or cannot.

SPEAKER_06:

You cannot.

SPEAKER_01:

Fine.

SPEAKER_06:

Because if I said yes now, that's gonna really bite me in the ass later.

SPEAKER_03:

He has learned from the first campaign.

I don't know. Uh then I will use my main action to cast darkness, uh, shadow arts. Uh and that's going to 15-foot sphere of impenetrable darkness that nothing can see. Black circle at all. I even said it. What am I doing? That's the diameter. Okay. I'll drop it overlaying. I think so, because when I looked at like the size, this is this says five feet, but that's oh maybe it is. Maybe that is radius. You're probably right. Yeah. So we'll go. So I'll drop this in the circle. A circle of darkness just behind Harleck, and it's a sphere covering up, so hopefully none of these rooftop where knights can see him at all. Um and then for my bonus action, I'll just teleport away and keep watching backwards, watching Harlech trying to cover his escape.

SPEAKER_02:

Hoping that he remembers all of his spells.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. Uh so I perch on the far side of this uh like shuttered piece, hopefully thinking I'm out of line of sight of the the werewolves, since it's a pretty good distance away. Uh it's dark out. Um I don't there's like no telling where I went because I just like stepped literally through the shadows from one place. Uh hopefully out of sight from these guys, but ready to drop back in and so should I need to.

SPEAKER_06:

And Harleck.

SPEAKER_05:

Uh with the with the darkness up behind me, uh, Harlech's gonna move forward. Uh or I'm gonna cast fly on myself, which will drop fog cloud, uh, which leaves the darkness, and then I'll move uh since I can fly up and forward a bit. And that gives me a speed of one sec. I think it should be sixty. Yeah, I give myself yeah, fly speed of sixty, so and then I'm just gonna just bolt forward as fast as I can. Sixty feet. Uh yeah, so you know, takes out the citurn, starts playing it, and starts kind of like flying by the citurn up in the air going forward. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh yeah, uh the Streets. Um so the the rain's hammering down all around you all, and lightning is turning uh every shadow um is lighting every shadow as it's it's jagging across the sky, and behind you you hear the howls of the werewolves, uh both guttural, furious, as they're trying to find you scrambling through this fog and through the darkness. Um but you can also hear the armor of those werewolves as they're clattering against things. Uh the city uh uh you sorry, um you can hear the pack that is the the pack is close, and you can hear their claws striking the cobbles as they're they're tearing after you, and you can hear their snarls even though they're muffled by the rain. And then um as you get to the city gates, uh the gates open up for you, and you're able to scramble through the gates. Uh, you don't see anybody opening them for you, but you can see that they they have opened up on their own accord, and you're able to throw yourselves forward through the mud, through all of the uh uh through all the rain and lightning, and you're able to escape the city into the wilds beyond.

SPEAKER_00:

You skipped me again. Yes, I did.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh no, I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_00:

How could you?

SPEAKER_06:

Yes, I did. I was just once everybody had moved once everybody had moved towards escaping, I was just moving the story forward.

SPEAKER_00:

Nope, I want to go back and I I want my character to start dancing.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay. You can have in my arms, but I am not letting go of you.

SPEAKER_00:

No, no, the the the illusion. I want to make the illusion start dancing. Uh oh. Okay. And that's it. You can continue with the story, because I wasn't gonna do anything else.

SPEAKER_06:

So you guys are out of the city and you're heading towards your home. Anything you guys want to talk about on the way?

SPEAKER_04:

Oh my god, that was wild! Do you think they're gonna keep chasing us?

SPEAKER_01:

Now Vex appears out of the darkness next to you guys. Yeah, those guys are really after us, huh?

SPEAKER_02:

Uh Dane says, I don't know if we could go back to the city. How I guess how are we gonna send message? How are we gonna send uh word back to I still have some contacts?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh I'll sign. I still have some contacts through the Thieves Guild. I think uh I mean, ooh, I didn't say that loud, did I? Through my associates. Uh we can get a message to him. And I think if we're careful, you know, when things settle down a little bit, but it's only been he looks up to the sky like not even an hour since all this started, so it makes sense to be on high attention.

SPEAKER_00:

Alright. I think Voss will at some point will look down and say, Whoa, Elvar, I am certainly glad to see you. Uh I'll have to introduce you to the group uh once we get back to the house, but I'm sure glad you showed up just in the nick of time.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh Elvar will respond and just say, Bosse, it's been a while since I've seen you in this much shit. Mainly when that wildling conjured a giant pile of manure on top of you. Uh you'll have to let me know exactly what I've stepped into.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, much like then, if we cut another pile of doo-doo caca, my friend, but first, let's get home and have a drink. I can tell you on the way there. And I gotta he'll spend uh he Voss won't get down off of uh Eldritch unless uh Elvar unless he like actively puts him down. Um he'll just go along for the the ride like just chilling.

SPEAKER_06:

You're not riding on his shoulders, he's got you slung over his shoulder.

SPEAKER_00:

That's that's fine.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

He might he might like turn he might like turn around and like kind of sit on his shoulder while he's chatting him up like this whole whole time, but even though Voss is a large character, he's he's not gonna like he's just not smart enough to like get down and walk himself.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh or smart enough not to.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, or smart enough not to. Like he's he's not doing it intentionally trying to get a free ride. He's just he's more concerned about just chatting with his friend than he just you know bumping out.

SPEAKER_02:

And then telling the party of I'll let Andrew do the intervention, but and the dead body on the other side of his head. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. So so once the the expeditious retreat fades after a minute, um, he'll transition Voss to Uppies on his shoulder. And they just like sling the this dead corpse of some elf underneath his arm, you know, kind of like a hip carry. And so Voss has this, you know, twelve-foot-tall view of what's going on around them, uh as they're continuing down the road. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

How long do I can't remember, how long does it take to get from the gates to our manor?

SPEAKER_06:

Alright. Yeah, so it's about an hour.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. So uh Zayn will, as as the party is going, he will just hover along until the hour from the start of the battle earlier runs out, and then he'll just start walking. Okay.

SPEAKER_04:

Thanks for saving our butts, Elmar.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, it's the least I could do for Vossi. He and I go back, uh uh, and he like picks up his fingers and starts like counting. Oh god.

SPEAKER_06:

And then he shows you a he shows you like a handful of fingers, and like we go back this far. I I love that in this dynamic, Voss is the smart one. He's the brains of the operation. That's good. Oh god. Okay. Yeah, so you guys eventually make it to your mansion and uh you're able to tuck yourselves or get yourselves inside. Is there anything you want to do before the morning? When what are you doing with uh Xanover's body?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh what time is it when we get back?

SPEAKER_06:

It's middle of the night.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, middle of the night.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's probably nine, ten o'clock.

SPEAKER_00:

I think after kind of showing uh showing his new friend around the the the mansion, uh Voss will take some time to like prep the body, like wrap it in cloth and and white cloth, and you know, wash uh wash him down and clean him up from the the battle and just get him ready to to go bury him out in the garden.

SPEAKER_02:

Um Zayn will uh go back to the the burial ground that he didn't notice was there before.

SPEAKER_06:

There's no actual burial ground.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh any ground is burial ground if we put a body in there.

SPEAKER_03:

We have a courtyard. Then why was the entire place possessed?

SPEAKER_02:

That's true. Zane will go back towards the back of the property and work towards lifting up and clearing out some flagstones so that there is an area we can actually bury somebody.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Um while during the storm and everything while it's raining?

SPEAKER_02:

Probably not.

SPEAKER_00:

Instead cast fireball. I didn't ask how big the room was.

SPEAKER_02:

Um no, he probably wouldn't go back there during the during the storm.

SPEAKER_06:

He'd lift up the shovel and get shocked, so I was seriously debating on hitting you with lightning while you were flying in that storm.

SPEAKER_02:

I was I was at the same level as the wolves were.

SPEAKER_06:

Seriously debating.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, but they're grounded. Okay.

SPEAKER_03:

That's okay. Actually, though, if he's not grounded, would lightning be attractive to him.

SPEAKER_01:

There's no path, so like birds don't get struck because they're not.

SPEAKER_06:

You're right. But airplanes.

SPEAKER_01:

Well they're it's random.

SPEAKER_02:

It's the the fact that an airplane is big is the reason it gets hit by lightning.

SPEAKER_03:

And I think it's actually because it moves through the air and develops a charge.

SPEAKER_02:

Yep. And like has a current around it. It's in the cloud. And and not the cloud that you store stuff in. Um, he won't. He will uh look at the area to s figure out if there's an area to put him in and then ask what is the name of the unseen servant? I don't think my notes were correct. Mortain, but is it with a T as in Tango? Mordain.

SPEAKER_03:

With a D with a delta.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I'm Okay.

SPEAKER_03:

My notes from session four say Mortain, but it could be Mordain, because I was a little inebriated.

SPEAKER_01:

I've got a D and a five. I don't have written down before that.

SPEAKER_06:

It is Mordain.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Okay, good. I spelled it correctly. So uh uh Zane will speak with Mordain and ask him if there's some place that would be suitable to bury our fallen companion.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Uh yeah, Mordain says to you. Why, yes, of course. I I believe that we can uh we can bury him out the back. There is a a very nice section of garden that would make for a good burial for a fallen hero.

SPEAKER_00:

I think boss will then just prep the body to uh prepare him for burial at first light in the morning.

Nelvax is probably gonna go have a drink. It's been a rough day.

SPEAKER_05:

Fair. Yeah, I think Harleck will probably ask if uh boss needs any help with the prepping of the body and cleaning things off, and if not, he'll probably uh join Nelvax for a drink.

SPEAKER_00:

I I'll I'll finish the body and then f join you guys for the drink.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, Zane would probably touch base with his minion in the library and then after talking to Mordain join them for drink.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, uh Eldvar after just unceremoniously dropping this corpse to the ground, uh will happily join everybody for a drink. Tired of carrying this thing. Bam! I he doesn't know why they were carrying it to begin with, just that for some reason they're carrying a dead body around the city. And it's not the first time that boss has done it, so yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

For all you know, Harlach's into that kind of thing.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, true. Hey Eldebar, are you staying the night? We just had our room come become vacant. Oh gosh.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh man, too soon, Elmax, too soon.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, I I I don't think my uh my presence at the Lucky Leap is anything that I could make happen again anytime soon with all those uh wolf thingies running around. Uh so if you got a uh spare bed, um hopefully it's a king size, because I don't really fit in anything smaller. So how tall are you? Uh probably a great great time to point out. Uh so Eldvar, uh physically, he's about eight feet tall.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh so you know, average for a Goliath. He has this like ashen grey skin with red runes up his uh his arms, and you can watch it up his neck. Um and then uh he's wearing this kind of like gunmetal gray armor uh that seems to protect him very well. And he's carrying a great sword across his back, and he's got uh two uh hand axes at his waist as well as a short sword.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah. So I come like kilt high to you then.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh I mean you don't even reach the tip of his dick, let's be honest.

SPEAKER_05:

Silent images sensor bar real quick.

SPEAKER_07:

Woo!

SPEAKER_02:

I was just gonna say, because if you're cause you said 12 foot either, but that was probably because including his height. I was like, if you're 12 foot, you don't fit in the room. Yeah, no, it it was the room's only ten by ten. I mean you could diagonal across it.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, it was Voss on his shoulders was the extra extra height.

SPEAKER_02:

So I mean I would assume that this building has more than one little bedroom or more than five bedrooms. That we wouldn't have to get him an extra or we wouldn't have to put him in Okay. So yeah, you get the spare you get the ni now spare bedroom.

SPEAKER_03:

You know, if it's too small, uh Eldar will just pass out on the couch right, one leg over the back, one leg over the armrest.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, we have a barracks, so true with one person in it. So Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

So you guys get to uh yeah, you guys settle down for the night, have a couple drinks. Uh the morning, you know, the the sun rises, and it is now time to bury your friend. Is there anything that anybody wants to say as uh as Zanivar is being buried or any any last rites that anybody wants to perform?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh I think Voss will just take some time to to talk about the uh the the adventures that they had been on together, and now he had uh he had grown close, you know, still didn't didn't know him. Uh didn't didn't know his details outside of the adventuring that they had gone on, but uh definitely enjoyed their time together. And it'll just you know give a sentiment of the loss of a friend because he had he was growing closer to Xander. Okay. That one person that you know they had spent the night in the haunted m mansion and defeated that trial, and uh yeah. So he'll be he'll be remorseful throughout the whole thing, but excited for the uh the the the new the new friend that is joining their their party. Somebody that he has more back history with.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Anyone else have anything? A vowel for vengeance or uh reminiscence or anything like that? Is anybody close enough? Does uh does Eldvar have anything to say?

SPEAKER_01:

You were the burden from the moment I met you.

SPEAKER_03:

I felt like I've been carrying you through our entire relationship. Yeah, I I can't top that. Yeah, like Eldar just like sees this as a body like many others that he's come across in his time. And he's kind of wondering, like, what's the connection to this body with the party? Why are they so hellbent on bringing this one back to you know their house to bury versus any other that has been left in the street? Like the three Ware Knights that they they encountered.

SPEAKER_02:

Um I mean, we killed them, but yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

He doesn't know that you haven't killed this one. Uh so he's he's mainly just listening, trying to understand the dynamic, understand what value this body had to the rest of the party.

SPEAKER_01:

I can't imagine if we were drinking the night before, we wouldn't have talked about it some. Um so are we doing I guess Voss, is is this like a a standard burial? Like we put him six feet down, lowering his body just wrapped up, or like we're burning him, or like what does it look like?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh, I think we're just putting his body in the ground. That's what Voss would just naturally do, not knowing any better, or you know, by Xanafer's like beliefs.

SPEAKER_03:

And and y'all probably would have heard enough about Xanover's beliefs to know that he doesn't care what happens to his body, because he believes that he'll be reborn through this cauldron of his goddess. And so, um, yeah, the body is just a vessel, and ultimately his goal is rebirth through this cauldron.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, Xenopher will uh take a knee next to either the pit or the body, whichever is and uh like lean down and like looking at the ground and feeling kind of mopey and just saying, I thought he made it. I'm so sorry. And then before he stands up, he punches the ground once, and then uh gets back up and doesn't You mean attack roll? Just pick the ball so hard.

SPEAKER_06:

Totally kidding. It's hard to miss the It'd be funny as hell if you rolled on that one right now.

SPEAKER_01:

17? You miss the ground?

SPEAKER_02:

Yes.

SPEAKER_07:

I miss so hard.

SPEAKER_05:

Uh yeah, so I was gonna say Harleck's gonna just probably just play some like somber music and do like a take his silent image and just do, since uh Xanifer was really into the spring and all that, and he did a lot of that with his his chosen season, just like bloom a field of uh spring meadow flowers and stuff like that around the the burial site and in hopes that he could try to make this a more permanent thing later with actual seeds and crap. Nice.

SPEAKER_02:

Um Zane will say another debt that the tower and the crown have to pay.

SPEAKER_06:

That's it. Okay. So yeah, as uh as the final spadefuls of dirt cover the grave. Um it it's a it's a pretty quiet morning, and the clouds above are parting from the storm for the previous night, and you can see a few shafts of sunlight break through, and um and then you start hearing some horses out front. Or in the front of the courtyard. You hear their hooves clicking against the against the the the gravel driveway.

SPEAKER_00:

What now? Uh boss will go to the door and look to see if he recognizes who they're who's approaching.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so at the door you see Lord Seinmander in front, with uh Riccio uh Risio right behind him, and about a half dozen battered knights of the crown. Some of them are almost falling off of their horses. They're soaked, they're wounded, their armor is dent and muddy, and uh uh Riceo gallops up to the front door and said, We had no we had no no place else to go. And you'll want to hear what we've uncovered. And that's where we're gonna end the night.

SPEAKER_00:

Waiting.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Look at us girl.

SPEAKER_02:

So now we're the rebel base. Come on.

SPEAKER_01:

Rebels. We converted some living people into dead people and made a friend.

SPEAKER_00:

And made some living people into dead people.

SPEAKER_02:
