Alright, so, like, Symondra rolls up with 12 knights, all dramatic and dusty, and like we barely escaped with our lives, and we're all just like, okay, trauma dump much, yo, and then he drops some lore bomb on us. Apparently, King Waldron went in the Feywild to save his queen. But Plaquist, the blessing he got was actually a pull-on curse. Dude comes back, goes crazy, and straight up murders his own son. Yikes, like big feelings. Uh meanwhile, Father Lester still ghosted in the Feywild. Rip to that man. Uh Son Squad, like, okay, what's next? And our to-do list looks wild. Talksome architect named Nader Trick. Wait, that's not his name. What is his actual name?

Yeah, yeah. Who honestly sounds like he gates keeps the blueprints that we're looking for the arcane tounter. Uh then we get it in we find Master Eldon, uh, which, by the way, is literally falling apart like X. Uh track down some magical key that opens any lock. And if we can't fix the cursed crown, then we might just have to destroy it or yeet it into some magic-eaten box. Uh, and we got 12 knights living rent-free in our manor now. That's cool. Uh Sime Monders upstairs like it's an Airbnb, and everyone's pretending this isn't gonna end with emotional damage. So, yeah. Uh we're over caffeinated, under-leveled, and uh ready to make some bad decisions in high definition.

Forget you. So uh, yeah, we went into the we went into the we we left there, we went into some sort of house to find him. And we didn't.

Who am I going to track? Oh. Yeah, who are you trying to find? Yeah, we go to the architect's house. So, yeah, see? Uh AI doesn't actually always help. Uh, so we go we go to the architect's uh like apartment or something, and and we go in there and find literally nothing. I just spend a bunch of time rummaging around um finding hence to go to uh the Fantastic Beasts theme park. What's it actually called?

Monster Menerie. Monster Menagerie. Or the menagerie, yeah.

That place. The monster menagerie. Uh and so we we dumb around the apartment for probably way too long until we finally figure out, yep, Brandon's not gonna let us do anything here, so we need to go to this monster menagerie. Uh so we go there. And once we get there, we sooddle bits around the outside of the fence, finding our way in. Uh, we eventually do get in, and we're presented with three options left, right, and center. And if I remember correctly, we went right. Which is not what we were expected to do because right led us to essentially the end boss of this entire area of the map. And we went in and fought, I don't remember what. Was it a monkey? Two shambling mounds. Oh, it's right. No.

Yeah, yeah, we we we fought some piles of grass. Uh and uh we beat them. And that's essentially where we ended. Oh yeah, there's the picture of the shambling mounds now. Yeah, it kinda looks like a troll with grass. Uh the best part was the testicle punching.

I mean, there's a spotless recap. Okay. I mean, are you talking about the there were posters where the animals and employees of the monster menagerie are now under the crown protection. Uh while we were at the apartment, we found a couple items, including some magical power that removes the scent of the beast. Um, a book that attempted to railroad us towards the monster menagerie, and then some drawings of the feeding pit that actually railroaded us there. And I railroad you know nothing.

No, we had we hopped on the train and followed the tracks. Uh yeah, so there was some poop on the ground, a large fern-eating beast. Uh there we saw tracks that went in and no tracks that went out. Um let's see what else happened. There, I mean, there was the thing the bit about uh Harlach and the guards, and you know, one of the guards seeing some skin, thinking that Harlach was hot. True. Are you thinking about a cool piece of armor? We did find a cool piece of armor, and uh Eldar is carrying around the corpse that is wearing that piece of armor because we have not taken the time to strip the body of the armor.

Yeah. Well well, so so the episode before that was the big lore dump where Risio was like providing a lot of color commentary to it. And then last episode was the one where Seinemander um completely dissed Melvax and said that like Riceo is the king of the shadows, and Nelvax is just some tidbit scrub.

Uh the only other thing that I I wasn't sure if it was just like a combat thing or something with uh deeper seated roots is that Eldvar had some kind of like fungal infestation in his chest that looked like it burst out of this other guy's body. So I wasn't sure if that was just a combat issue or it was just a combat thing. Yeah. Is he gonna be where it's that shirt telling us that we're saying goodbye to Eldvar today? It's stuff burst out of his shirt chest again.

Andrew and I have a pack that we're gonna re-roll a new character because he's got hundreds of characters. We're gonna re-roll a new character every two for him so he can go through all of his all his characters.

Back In The Greenhouse After Combat

So yeah, we you you guys end it the last session after a big fight against some shambling mounds. So that's where we're gonna start. Uh all of you, there are two shambling mounds, and you are in the middle of the monster menagerie. And uh yeah. Who would like to loot and who would like to explore, or what would you like to do?

So I think we looted the shambling mounds, but we were gonna investigate the surrounding area, if I remember correctly. Because like I I found some half-dissolved half plate, which we commented was quarterplate. Yes, you did.

Secret Lever Reveals Hidden Stairs

As you pull a lever, uh, Nelvex, you hear a large grinding sound. As uh it sounds like stone sliding on stone. And behind you, uh a staircase is revealed.

Uh it is it's like around it's pretty it's pretty thick. Uh you get you didn't really see the shambling mounds until they showed up, so it's it's thick enough to hide two very large shambling mounds.

So um Zayn will kinda look around. I mean, is there any place that he doesn't think that anybody has looked?

So I'm like, uh, it you do see that there is a uh a not a well-traveled path, but it looks like a small clearing uh between some bushes that you can walk back up into the northeast side of the greenhouse.

Zane will go that way. And investigate to see if there's anything of note.

Uh about fifteen feet up up that path, underneath some trees and between two bushes, you do find a small wooden box.

I'm sorry. By small wooden box, I mean it's a three by five box. Three inches? Three by five foot wooden box.

No. Uh it has uh it has hinges on the back end or the back side of the box that you can see, and it looks like it's a lid that just lips up.

Um, so Zane will point out that he found this box and say that he we're we're looking for a box, but I don't think this is it. So he will reach towards the box like he's going to open it. And if anybody if nobody stops him, he will open said box.

Nelvax is here. Uh we I pretty much we announced, you know, you said you're concerned, I announced I'd go with you. So I don't know. It sounds like Harleck might have been coming with us.

Yeah, I was gonna say I'd been tagging along, probably cleaning you up still.

Um uh we could try and open it up with magic real quick and pop up uh mage hand real quick.

Oh, I don't know how heavy that lid is and I struggle like I would in real life.

So yeah, your hands seem like they're struggling for a second until you hear a groan of like wood giving way, and then a small pop, as it sounds like like an air seal has been uh released, and you can feel some cold uh emanating from it as it just blasts you. Not dangerous, not not not like it's going to cause you any harm, but you can definitely feel the temperature drop a degree or two until it normalizes with the rest of the uh the rest of the room. Um but yeah, it opens up. You guys looking inside?

Yes, well Zane is. I can't speak for anybody else. Yeah, well now we can't.

Uh yeah. Zane, looking inside, you see it looks about it looks like 15 different bags of uh 15 different bags of of something, and on the the label written in common says animal rations grade C.

Um, as you're walking down the stairs, you you you kind of if it feels like the cave's almost exhaling, and that you can smell this cold metallic, uh, stale air kind of sting your lungs a little bit. It smells like oil. And uh the stairs that you're sitting on are made of metal, and each step protests your weight as you step down step after step. Uh the walls are pretty tight here, and you can see that the metal has condensation uh clinging to it, which makes it very slick. And you you suddenly hear a blast of uh a blast of or violent hiss erupting as steam jets out of a pipe you didn't see from the from the from the wall next to you. And I need you both to make a deck save for me. So 14 for Eldvar.

And he's gonna cast light on his greatsword so that he can now see. Great.

Uh after taking it, Voss will say, uh guys, watch out. The uh there's there's some uh steam coming out of these pipes as you uh head down the stairs. And you turn around and be like, guys? Hey, where'd you guys go?

Elbar not a um uh you know he he's he's very familiar with heat and fire damage being of fire lineage, and so he'd probably just kind of look for the pipe and see if he can't kind of crush it in his hand to shut it off. I'll know what kind of pipe we're we're talking about here. Uh it's about a six-inch diameter pipe. No, yeah, it's the Alaskan pipeline. Schedule 40? Oh, it's an Alaska pipeline. Yeah, Alaska pipeline. He's probably not gonna be able to uh to crush that one. So he'll just um kind of stand by it so that as the rest of the party eventually comes, he can point it out to them so that they can duck under it. Okay.

Construct Graveyard And Breathing Furnace

Harleck's action E G, we're just gonna continue to make the sanity go down. Alright. So, yeah, as you guys descend the descend down the stairs, again, this this smell of oil is just uh oil and grease, and you feel the heat coming up from the uh the cavern below. Uh it eventually opens up into a a wide cavern, like a wide opening, big enough to actually hold a temple. And around you you see mounds of broken constructs. Uh it looks like bits of metal mixed with flesh uh lying in different piles. Uh, you can see steel bones, glass eyes, uh jawless faces fused by heat, and you can see bits of skeleton amongst those those mounds. Uh in the far uh on the far corner, you see a single blue-orange furnace that's burning low, uh, inhaling and exhaling in a slow rhythm, like it's alive.

You hear a large uh you hear a loud hiss. And it sounds like that steam that you heard on the stairs above you, but even louder. And this this blue furnace uh or the the blue flame in the furnace leaves the furnace itself and goes into a pile of metal and flesh and bones that is near you, and uh you start to and it starts to move.

And as he pulls it out though, there is an additional four points of flashing damage from the greats property of his greatsword. And that's gonna be his turn. Okay.

Uh, and he's just going to just start splashing and tearing at it and uh ripping pieces and parts off until it is just like waist high of a scrap of earth or a pile of scrap in front of him. Uh because he's pretty pissed off that this thing went after Vossi, uh, who has been his friend for as long as he can remember, which isn't very long, if you think about it, because it's he doesn't have the best memory of the entire group, but um for as long as he can remember, Vossi was there for him, and he is just kind of pissed off that this thing uh stole Vasi's mace, and he's digging for the mace to give it back to him.

Uh yeah, so the this construct convulses and the bones and metal seem to contract a little bit, and you hear a horrible grinding sound tearing through the different bits of metal as sparks start to lance out as the metal and bones kind of grind against one another. Uh, you see for a second that blue light becomes a blinding white red fire within it, and then it erupts outward. It's blinding for an instant, and then it snaps and it detonates. Um it's not a clean, it's not the blast isn't like a clean fireball or anything, uh, but it's a storm of metal and pressure, and so everybody around it, meaning Voss, uh, Nelvex and Elvar, give me a dex a con save, sorry.

Voss, you're able to get your shield up just in time to block this uh all this debris flying towards you. But Elvar and uh Nelvax, you're gonna take eight points of slashing damage. Um but as this this metal and stuff this metal and bone kind of blast out from everywhere, uh it smashes into the walls around you and behind you, uh the tunnel that you entered groans once as the support gives away from a a large gear slamming into it and the tunnel collapses where the stairs were. Uh the dust blooms outward, choking the air around you. And when the sound finally dies from all this exploding and haze and uh hiss of steam, you can see that the only way forward is a single path uh to the very north of the room.

So now, Vex, you you can see that there are no tool marks in the on the cave walls themselves. It doesn't look like this is constructed through any kind of tool, either by dwarf human or otherwise. Um it looks like something forced its way through this tunnel. You can see bits of rubble on the ground around the sides. Uh the ceiling of the cavern, which is about 12 feet tall, is uh is not smooth whatsoever. Uh and there are chunks missing out of it as it's fallen to the ground, making the ground not smooth. Uh, and there's rubble all about. It looks like something forced its way through this tunnel.

Okay. So as you all leave the graveyard that was that construct uh that construct graveyard behind you, the the air in front of you in this tunnel, it changes. It's it's colder, it's heavier, and you can get the taste of almost like like pennies in your mouth, like the there's rust in the air. Um as you're walking through the tunnel, you can hear your footsteps echo back at you, uh, but the echoes come half a second too late, as if uh almost it's as if the tunnel is like very, very large, or it's it's it's very wide. Um and you can hear condensation dripping all around you. Uh from pipes from steam, you can still hear the hear the hissing of steam, it still sounds like there's pipes all around you. And then somewhere in the distance of the tunnel, you hear what sounds like metal flexing with a low groan as it scrapes against rock. Um you hear you hear another loud hissing of steam, but it sounds like it's it's getting closer to you. And you can feel the the ground underneath you vibrate once lightly as if something big just shifted its weight.

And there the two pools to the left and right seem they're they're filled with a green liquid that is sizzling. You're not really sure what it is from where you're at. Uh but you do see on the bridge itself is scrawled in what looks like a dark viscous liquid mixed with red, so it looks like oil and blood mix it makes the words don't run with a corpse next to it.

Alright, so. Uh Voss, uh the first thing you notice is a change in the air around you. It seems like an odd weight is above, like the room itself is holding its breath. Then without a sound, something unfolds in front of you and dropping from the ceiling. For a half second, it's just a shadow. Uh, it's dripping lines of oil, and you can see bits of bone and flesh uh in uh uh kind of entwined around the metal itself. And then two red lenses snap open, almost as if eyes, and you can hear a whisper of hydraulic hydraulics exhale, and it says, Ravens, as it slashes at you twice.
