SPEAKER_00Hello, Brandon. Hello. Hi, everybody. I'm Justin, and today I'm playing uh Nelvax, the male human monk.
SPEAKER_07Wave Shadows. And Maddie. Justin, you're gonna make people think that you're doing two characters in this campaign. And you see today I'm playing. Yeah, not yet. Hey everybody, uh, my name is Maddie. I play Voss Dane. He is a cleric. He has prepared spells, and he knows how to use them.
SPEAKER_01And I also think you're currently out of all your spells.
SPEAKER_07Uh I mean I can unclick these boxes and keep casting.
SPEAKER_02I think she actually has the most spell slots of anybody right now.
SPEAKER_07I've got four slots left. Okay, nice. And I know how to use them. Plenty of cantrips. Perfect. I'm gonna guidance the crap out of everybody. Wonderful.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think it's you, bud. Well, Brandon's looking through and he's like, did Andrew do the recap last session?
SPEAKER_01No, I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I was trying to remember. Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_01I did do it, but I rolled it. I normally do care if everybody's here, but if somebody's missing, I just make everybody roll.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, the the big thing being this is the only way my character can ever get inspiration. So I figure I'm just gonna roll every time. Perfect.

Tunnel Recap And The Builder’s Eye
SPEAKER_02Okay, uh, I'm pretty sure I already did the recap before we started, but uh we figured out the session uh amongst the tunnels underneath the um where were you, the greenhouse. Uh and we were trying to figure out what attacked Voss Dane. And as it turns out, it was just like this little tiny guy that looks kind of like Harleck with a plus uh shaped face and some eyes on the end of the stalks, and a really sharp tail and some wings. Uh but in reality it was much bigger than Voss had led us to believe, and it was actually about the size of an ox. Uh after some uh skill checks, we determined that it's an ambush predator, and Nelvax had seen one back when he was a child, um, and it was just referred to as the monster, so we don't really know what it was. Uh we decided that we were going to get away from the pools of acid that were near us uh after unsuccessfully trying to trap one of the monsters, which we thought was the only monster, uh, in one of those pools of acid by using minor illusion and silent image to kind of give the image of a deer trapped in one of those acid pits. And so we moved on and uh continued to explore the caverns in front of us. We encountered a human male, uh bald head, Jat to all belief, wearing uh kind of tattered leather vest and um had these silver glisten, the silver glisten in his eyes, named uh Derek, Derek, something like that, uh, who was just spouting nonsense and eventually lost the Battle of Wits with Eldmar and decided to lead the group off into the uh caverns where he claimed he was hunting whatever the monster was. We get to a uh an expanse, a I'm blanking on the word. Um chasm, that's the right one. Uh that had like this balance beam across it of stone. And he decided that he was gonna go first. He gets attacked by a monster, pulled down into the depths, and that was the last we saw of Derek. Uh the group then decided that we were gonna go across. Uh the first one across was Nelvax, who just kind of ran across the wall all monk-like, uh nimbly bimbly, and secured a rope at the other end using his expanding pole. You know what that is. Uh and he tied a rope to it and tossed the other end to Elvar, who tied it off to his greatsword and stuck that in the rope.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, what that is.
SPEAKER_02You know what that is. It expands three times larger than what it is.
SPEAKER_06I was talking about the greatsword.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. I was talking about him being a grower, not a shower. Uh so after that, um Harleck, uh, the real Harleck, decided to be the first one across. Uh, he was he narrowly dodged another one of the monsters who knocked his lantern down, and we were able to see that at the bottom of this chasm there was just like an army of these things uh waiting to eat us. Uh then we quickly got the rest of the party across. Uh Vostane used his um channel divinity to invoke his duplicity and teleport across. Elvar just kind of ran across and on the way decided to drop um a lit torch and two pints of oil uh to create his own fireball because we did not have a flying PC that could cast fireball. Uh after that detonated and alerted all of them to our presence. We then proceeded to run through the um the tunnels. Uh Harleck had cast silence in a bag of holding to try and help muffle our pass our path. Uh jury's out on how well that that did for us. Um we eventually got to a room, had to fight a couple of these creatures. I think Brandon was normalizing us killing Harleck, and for two campaigns in a row, he's now repeatedly killed the smallest character in the group. Uh so anyone re-rolling a character, don't pick small, and maybe you'll live. Uh after a little bit of fighting and uh some uh mischief by Harleck, um, we managed to escape to a staircase that led to a very sturdy door that locked out all the monsters and encountered the builder. After a little RP with the builder, he gave us his eye uh and then later explained to us that it contained all the information that we were looking for because the builder was in fact the architect we were looking for, Nader Type. And uh he downloaded all the schematics to get into the castle into his eye, but did not actually tell us how to access them. So we'll see if that actually does us any good. Uh and then there is a little bit of back and forth about trying to get one of the monsters as a pet. Uh he refused to give us any, he refused to lend them to us when we attack the castle. He just all around refused to be a team player. And so uh Nelvax eventually negotiated a model of one of the uh one of the builder's children uh to give to Eldvar, which Eldvar now loves and will kill anything that gets in his way to protect. And so then we ended the session entering the elevator that's gonna lead us to the churistan that Eldvar was originally looking for, and we went up a level.
SPEAKER_01Didn't go up a level.
SPEAKER_02So we're still down in the basement with the the builder?
SPEAKER_01No, you are well, yes, you're currently transitioning to the surface, but it's you did not rise a level. So we went up we went up a level. No. In the progress of rising a level. Yeah. Yes, you are in the progress of rising a level. I agree with you.
SPEAKER_03We also got that other crystal from the from the builder, the crystal of recalling. After Harlech gave like another like desperate plea. And do you remember what that does, Harleck? No, he just said to I don't remember that part, honestly. I remember him saying that you like it, you know, use it when we need it or something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was like when you when you need me, I'll help you as I can. Yeah. It was very, very vague in his promise. Very skeptic. And then also Voss is very suspicious of this guy and thinking about murdering him.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I don't I don't think Voss had a problem if he ended up uh upside down in a crick someplace.
SPEAKER_06In a what?
SPEAKER_07In a crick.
SPEAKER_02That's creek. A creek for people on the east coast.
SPEAKER_06Yes, is this people that speak English. Um what is the eye crystal map?
SPEAKER_00That's the castle map. It's literally his eye.
SPEAKER_07And it's a map.
SPEAKER_00It's made out of his eye. It's like a like a projector. He pulled it out of his dome. It's an eyeball that is also a map that we may or may not know how to use.
SPEAKER_07We have a side quest, we gotta go find R2 D2. R2 D2 can make this map appear for us.
SPEAKER_00A lot of valuable agents lost their lives to collect this valuable intel. Yeah. Okay. Actually, just one. His name was Derek.
SPEAKER_01And he wasn't too valuable.
SPEAKER_00He was a lot, though.
SPEAKER_01He was a lot. Alright. Um, I so I I saw something before we move on. First off, Andrew, great. Uh, Elvar gets some heroic inspiration. Okay, I was about to ask where my inspiration was. So thank you. Fuck off.
SPEAKER_07Uh, it's it's behind you. Just head out the door to the left.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Okay, thank you.

The “I Know A Guy” Rule
SPEAKER_01So I heard this uh I heard something. Brennan Lee Mulligan does it, and I thought it was a pretty cool idea to help our your characters kind of develop a backstory and and use that. It's it's the I Know a Guy rule. Have you guys ever heard of this? So basically, at any point, uh you can use this uh once during the campaign, you can say, I know a guy. Basically, if I'm describing something and uh you think you could find that information because you know a guy. Like maybe it's uh you need to get into a certain room. I know a guy. And you can describe that person from your backstory how you've met them, and I can play that backstory, right? For or I can play that NPC for you. That doesn't necessarily mean you that guy's that person is gonna help you, but you'd roll for it, and the higher the role in a straight D20 is how willing that person is going to be that they help you. So I thought it'd be a cool opportunity for you guys to help develop your backstories during this, uh, and to kind of help get it deeper into the RP side, but I didn't want to implement it without a yay or nay from all of you.
SPEAKER_07I mean, boss's mom is kind of that, but more than just once a campaign. He's got it going on. With his mom. Probably.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it sounds cool to me. I mean, no, I mean the rule, not the whole situation.
SPEAKER_07You guys heard it first here.
SPEAKER_05You guys heard it first here. No. The rule mom and Ray's corruption and the corruption deepens.
SPEAKER_01Ray's gonna be escorted off of school grounds and involved us. Sorry, Ray.
SPEAKER_03This is like the party inventory all over again. Things just come to just happen.
SPEAKER_01So uh I say keep it in your back pocket. If there's ever a cool opportunity for you all to use it, uh go ahead and feel free to use it. We'll we'll roll it and see how it works.
SPEAKER_02That was once a campaign or once a level?
SPEAKER_01Uh same thing. Same thing. Or session eleven, and you guys are level six. Go fuck yourself. But we started out at five. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Eleven sessions to get a level.
SPEAKER_01Yep. I didn't realize real level. That's why it's milestone-based and not experience-based.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, because we would have leveled up if it were experience-based after we firebombed all those children.
SPEAKER_07Hey, you guys better stop Bran's gonna kill another character.
SPEAKER_02Well, that was actually gonna be my second question. Is it once a character or once a player?
SPEAKER_01Every time your character dies, you gotta restart from level five. That's fine. I'll just firebomb the children again.
SPEAKER_07Alright. Yeah, so it's a good idea, Brandon. That's fine. Yeah. No, I I like it. I've used it a bit more. We'll actually answer your question. Alright, perfect. Dodge it. Alright.
SPEAKER_01So let's get into it.
Elevator Up To Screams
SPEAKER_01So the metal gate of the elevator slams shut behind you, and you can hear uh the the continuous thunk of the elevator as it starts uh as it starts rising through the dirt. And you can hear the the chains beginning to tighten, the rattling of it as you're slowly and steadily lifted towards the upper levels. You can see you can still see in this area because most of you have dark vision, but there's also two torches sitting on the sides of the elevator that are lit.
SPEAKER_02Not gonna gaslight us this time, Brandon.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01And uh as the elevator rises to the top, uh, you are initially blinded by the sunlight, because it is still high noon, and for the first few seconds it's silent. And then you hear the first scream.
SPEAKER_07Uh we turn around and tell Dane to shut up. Stop screaming.
SPEAKER_06That's you. Calm down. It's okay.
SPEAKER_07Who's Dane? There's no Dane anymore. Uh we look back. There's is there a small child screaming in the elevator?
SPEAKER_01Like No. I I I was getting there and you interrupted me.
SPEAKER_07Do continue. You're doing great.
SPEAKER_01Thanks. Uh finally the elevator reaches the top and it slows. You the gears grind, chains rattle, and the metal screeches to a stop, and you hear a distant roar that shakes the entire ground around you. You can see, and and just a couple blocks away from you, right outside of the Monster Menagerie, that there's dust raining down from the buildings, there's screams echoing from beyond the gate, and you can hear fighting just a short distance away.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that doesn't sound like a box starts punching the down button, door close.
SPEAKER_02Just kidding. Oh, it seems a little early for the 1230 feeding. Um what do you make of this?
SPEAKER_07I can make a brooch, I can make a flower, I can and you wonder why we don't get left.
SPEAKER_00The uh the screaming sounds, was it like male or female? Could we identify like by pitch?
SPEAKER_01You can hear there are a couple people screaming, you can hear men, women, a couple children screaming. Uh you can from where you're at, you can smell there's some there's something on fire, and you can smell the smoke in the air. And uh you hear what sounds like a collapsing building.
SPEAKER_04Do you think we should go help?
SPEAKER_00Nelvax like starts running towards he wants to help these people. So you guys can come if you want. Nelvax is going.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Elvar will pick Voss up on his shoulder and give Chase.
SPEAKER_07Voss will accept the uh Uppies. Uppies.
SPEAKER_01Uppies. Right. Okay, so Clerics love uppies. Harleck, really? You're not gonna grab one of those torches after you complained about me taking one from you the last session?
SPEAKER_03Oh no, I I I will grab a torch in order to Oh wait, no. Uh Lvex gave me a torch though. Uh right before we went into the builders. If I have a torch. I can see slightly. Okay. It's high noon. I mean next time, next time.
SPEAKER_06Oh. So uh Zayn will come around the corner and see everybody running and run along with them.
SPEAKER_02Awesome. And uh that's good because there was only room for five in the elevator, and uh Elvar's new toy, George, took up one of those faces.
SPEAKER_06So you see Zane running next to you with a churro in his hand.
SPEAKER_02Beautiful.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're still warm.
SPEAKER_02Elvar's gonna double back for a churro. It is it is all he wanted out of this entire experience.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, you see the churros saying it is it is go ahead, Zane.
SPEAKER_06Zayn being the thoughtful party member and taking the detour away from the party. Um, well, as we're running along, hand out churros. There we go.
SPEAKER_07That's what you were doing. So that's what you were doing while we were down there getting the map. Thanks, buddy. I really appreciate the chiro. Thank you. Zane, it hits the spot.
SPEAKER_06Elvar said he wanted a churro.
SPEAKER_04No, Elvar, don't eat him while you run.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Voss is just on his shoulders. Jump, jump, jump.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. Voss is like just gingerly eating it, enjoying his little ride.
SPEAKER_02Meanwhile, he's holding another tro in front of Elvar to like entice him along. On a steak.
SPEAKER_01Alright, so you guys all run up to the towns uh to one of the uh many town squares, and in front of you is chaos.
Chaos In The Town Square
SPEAKER_01What you see is uh civilians running back and forth, uh running, stumbling over debris. You hear screams echoing through smoke-filled streets. There's a couple shattered market stalls split, you see fruit pottery and blood mix in the cobblestones below, and there's a building that's half collapsed, dust drifting in the air. Once you actually are able to concentrate and see what's going on in the town, you see that that building that's fell that's fallen, there are two people trapped under the debris. Uh there are a few guards, a werewolf guards, that are fighting monsters, which you can see is a some sort of giant and two giant spiders, if you were to take a right. Now there is an option. Uh you know that there's also, if you take a left in front of this building, there's a way out of the city and back towards your bastion.
SPEAKER_06Now does it look like does it look like the werewolf guards are protecting the civilians?
SPEAKER_01It looks like the werewolf guards are fighting the monsters. And what are these monsters? What type of giant? Uh you can't uh roll actually. Yeah, roll me a nature check.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm I'm super good at this. Uh that's gonna be a four. It's a really big giant.
SPEAKER_07Can we all roll nature check?
SPEAKER_02I'm a Goliath. I should know giants, right? You should.
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, they're fighting what looks to be two very large spiders and some sort of giant.
SPEAKER_02You all Elvar's gonna go having been attacked by these were guards before and seeing a giant and even not knowing exactly what type of giant it is, feeling kinship to it, is gonna go try and run towards them.
SPEAKER_06Zane is gonna try to evaluate the situation and see what the civilians around are doing if they're running away, if they're gonna try to because his contribution to defeating the giants and the giant spiders would involve magic. Which is apparently outlawed. So while he's all for helping people. Dot dot dot. Um he's not willing to get himself locked up for it, or more importantly, we're not willing to get killed.
SPEAKER_07By the werewolves for saving them. By the werewolves for saving them, yeah. Yeah, I think Voss is not gonna be super I mean he's still gonna he's not gonna be hopping off of Elvar by any means, but he's going to uh try to see maybe what like if I can get a better read on these giants and find out are we running into two and he's essentially trying to ascertain, am I running into two enemies here, or let's help these giants kill the werewolves because they're friendly.
SPEAKER_03Uh uh what are the civilians that are trapped? What is the debris that's on top of them?
SPEAKER_01That's a half-collapsed building.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So I'm so more than 500 pounds, we're thinking, then. Of stuff. Yes. Yep. Alright, so Harleck's not able to handle that in any way.
SPEAKER_01Yep, so okay. So what you see, now that you've got a full assessment of the square, uh, the two individuals, there's there's a man and a woman that's trapped under the debris of a half-collapsed building. There's a child standing on uh some raised steps of a large temple, and it looks to be he looks to be terrif just petrified, paralyzed with fear, uh staring at the giant and screaming. Uh the werewolf guards uh look to be intercepting or trying to get between the humans and the monsters, but they're quickly being overrun. You see one guard getting slashed or getting knocked to the ground and then pummeled by the giant, and he's no longer moving.
SPEAKER_06You said there's two guards?
SPEAKER_01There's a total of six guards, and one just got slapped down to the ground.
SPEAKER_07Elvar's going to help the giants, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Elvar's going to help the giants.
SPEAKER_07Okay.

SPEAKER_06Zayn is gonna go try to see if he can get to the human the the civilians. Could be watching watching the fight, but trying to get to the humans to see if or the humans, I assume they're humans, uh racist.
SPEAKER_01But are you all going towards the fight? And then we're gonna start a like an initiative tracker.
SPEAKER_03I'd be going towards the civilians as well with Zane.
SPEAKER_00I mean that the whole scene is the fight, I'm assuming.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Or you can go off to the left and leave the city.
SPEAKER_00No, we all go towards to help the people, is what it sounds like. Whether that's fighting or saving we're going towards action.
Initiative And Picking Sides
SPEAKER_00Let's help the giants or some people.
SPEAKER_01Let's roll some initiative and join the mat, please. Milvex has a nine. Oh, a 21.
SPEAKER_07I got a one. Unnatural. Oh my god. Just so you know.
SPEAKER_06An unnatural one. An unnatural one?
SPEAKER_05What?
SPEAKER_06Oh my god. You have a negative to your initiative?
SPEAKER_00Negative minus one text.
SPEAKER_06How do you have a negative at level six? Never mind.
SPEAKER_00His dexterity is minus one.
SPEAKER_06Or only level six.
SPEAKER_00Dexterity or your initiative only modifies with your initiative. Or sorry, your dexterity bonus, right? It doesn't change with your proficiency.
SPEAKER_02No, you have the alert feat, so you get the proficiency out of tiers. Mm-hmm. Okay. I get half proficiency. Yeah, by default, it's just dexterity.
SPEAKER_06Uh, so Zayn got a 12. Holy crap.
SPEAKER_0112? Alright, so I got a 12 for Zayn, one for Voss, and 9 for Nilvax, 21 for Arlik and a 12 for El.
SPEAKER_06Oh goodness, this is not what I was envisioning when you described it.
SPEAKER_01What did I mess up?
SPEAKER_06No, I thought, uh, I don't know if you messed it up as much as I misunderstood. I thought it was like the giant spider and giants were together.
SPEAKER_07Don't cut him any slack.
SPEAKER_06Um.
SPEAKER_07He messed it up.
SPEAKER_06That's that is uh passive aggressive speak for yes, he did not describe it well enough for me to actually visualize it. Anyway, I thought it was like a group. So for the listeners, it's not. It is a city street where the giant is off one fork in the road, one of the giant spiders is off another fork in the road, and another giant spider, so it's a Y-shaped intersection, so three. I don't know where we're at, but the top left.
SPEAKER_01They're all less than 40 feet from each other. I don't know how you consider that not a group.
SPEAKER_07Well, I thought they were clumped together and they were all fighting each other. Uh I never want to be accused of helping Brandon or ever being on his side, but he's they are kind of all grouped up in this little square down here. Y-shaped square.
SPEAKER_06Okay, sure. I thought they were together. Anyway, where's the ship? Did you say Y-shape square?
SPEAKER_00The Y-square. I don't think you're wrong, but it is funny to hear somebody say Y-shaped square. As a square has a very specific shape associated with it.
SPEAKER_06It is a shape. You can't do it. I'm with you. It's got you said that we're off to the left somewhere?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, top left. Go up that giant spider beam path. You are on the map. It's circled in black. Follow the line. Refresh the screen. Refresh maybe? Zoom out, refresh. There is now dicks on top of dicks.
SPEAKER_06Okay, now we're showing. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Why were two people drawing very similar penises on the map? I mean dicks kind of look the same.
SPEAKER_06And now I don't see the NPCs, but what is going on?
SPEAKER_00That drawing was ballin.

SPEAKER_06Crayons.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you again with the crayons. See?
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't call them crowns. Which is what you said, which is what goes on a king's head. Yes. Yeah, that's right. Crayons. Or a queen's. Or a queen. Or an emperor, possibly.
SPEAKER_02Or it goes in a box.
SPEAKER_01How have we done 11 sessions and we haven't gained a level? Go fuck yourself. How's that?
SPEAKER_03Well, well, I feel like I have not asked it. I was defending you full well why we're not going anywhere.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's all Brandon's fault. That's full well why we're not going anywhere. Yep.
SPEAKER_06I mean, as much as he railroads us, you'd think he'd be in control a little bit more, but true.
SPEAKER_02Not like I gave you an option at all. Hey, just because we're on the tracks doesn't mean that we're going fast.

And they're gonna dig into it with its sword, with each of their swords, and they're gonna deal some damage to it. And then guard two and three. Uh guard three is gonna take a swing at the other giant spider. And the giant spider uh knocks away with one of its legs as it goes to attack back. And the giant spider grabs it with both of its legs and bites into the guard. Uh-oh. And the guard seems to go limp while the spider is holding it.

And uh the giant clips the side of this other guard, knocking him 10 feet to the side. Eldvar.
SPEAKER_02Alright, Eldvar is slightly aroused watching this giant just fling a guard into another guard. Um, and then he's gonna remember, oh yeah, I'm in the middle of something right now. Uh he is going to draw with his left hand the rune of the avalanche and cast um uh expeditious retreat on himself, although he will not be retreating, he will be advancing. And so now as uh his full movement, he will be running with Boss Dane, so I'll grab you two. Uh 7-0 feet to get in melee with the guard captain that is engaged with the crazed giant. Uh quick question: is the giant a male or female giant? It is a male giant. Male. Uh so he'll call out in Joton or Giant. Uh Easy Brother! I'm here to help! As he takes two attacks on the guard captain. And so the first one is going to be not great. That's a 10-to-hit, so four slashing damage on that miss.

SPEAKER_02And the second one will be a natural one for another four slashing damage.
SPEAKER_01Uh, the giant still holding the body of the guard that he was using as an uh improvised weapon, turns to you after you've spoken to him and sees you whiff on this guard captain twice, and you hear a guttural laugh.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna take like four points of psychic damage just as shame. Yeah, that's my turn. Action, bonus action, and movement.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh the guard captain barely missing your attacks is gonna turn on you, and you see recognition in the in the werewolf's eyes. And he's got he's got special armor on that's modified to fit with the claws of the uh the werewolf. So he's still holding a shield, and he's got a short sword in his other hand that are both modified to fit in this j large werewolf's hands, and you see recognition in his eyes as he turns and sees uh Vostane, and he's going to uh he's gonna try to swing at you, Eldvar. Pretty good. That was a 22 hit. Uh Eldvar will cast shield and it will miss. Perfect. And then he's gonna take a bonus action and try to shield bash uh Vostain. Can he reach Vostane on my shoulder? Oh, he's still on his shoulder. Yeah, okay, he's gonna try to shield bash you. Okay. And I gotta remember how to use a shield bash.

Uh so the first attack is a wow, whopping nine to hit. That is not hit. And the second attack is a nineteen to hit. That does hit. Hell yeah. Uh the nineteen to hit does seven damage.
SPEAKER_01Alright. And are you hitting guard one or guard three?
SPEAKER_00Guard three was the one I missed. I hit guard one, and I think that flaria blows is a bonus action, so I think that's all I got to do. Yes, I walk in. Yeah, so I run in, I run around these guys, I do like a quick like 360 spinslash. Uh I my scimitar scrapes off the armor of guard three and connects into an open spot for guard one and just does a little bit of damage to him. But now they know they are under threat. But none other than Nelvax. Okay. Past turn.

The child turns towards Zane, seeing Zayn running full blossom at him with a sword in his hand and a giant half orc, and the child starts screaming at Zane.

Uh guard two that was uh flung away from the giant notices that the spider is now focused on the man and woman pinned under the debris and is gonna run over and place himself between the spider and the man and woman, while guard five is gonna take another swing at the giant spider. That is a Nat 20. So that's gonna be a lot of damage. And Guard 3 is gonna turn towards you, Nelvex, and take a swing at you. Does a seven hit?
SPEAKER_00No. When he which kind of weapon has he got? Guard three? Short sword. So he turns his back on the giant spider to swing at me. Even though I didn't hit him. Like I cut in his armor and he turns Okay. Yep. Um I just like I backhand it as he like he does like a lunge at me, like a jab, and I just like backhand it out of like danger zone to swing wide and not hit me.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh giant spider B is gonna the he's a little pissed off that the guard blocked him from eating a tasty child. And you're gonna see him with all with with his four front arms raise up, and he's gonna grab the guard and take a big old bite of him. And it's all good for us, Brandon. And the guard, you see the guards, even through the fur, you see the the guard's color kind of change and go a little pale, and the guard goes limp in the spider's arms. And spider A down here is gonna drop the guard that he's holding and run towards the man and woman under the debris. Under the debris. And take a blade out of the guard.

SPEAKER_01Yeah, the the guard is he turns to you as his head rips to one side and he uh whips to one side and he turns back to you and he snarls, and blood is just dripping down the fangs, down his fangs as his teeth are exposed. He's pretty pissed off.

Are you just trying to like uh the best I have in this situation would be levitate, um, which is why I had asked if the rubble was was around 500 pounds, because that's the max that I could lift with that spell.

SPEAKER_01And then I would say if anybody's looking towards guard five, south of you all, he takes a step towards a giant spider and falters and drops to the ground. Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_07We're almost out of enemies here. This is gonna be easy.
SPEAKER_01Guard one and guard two uh are gonna turn towards the spiders, seeing that their brothers just died and take slashes at them.
SPEAKER_06At their brothers?

And guard three is going to take his sword, and just out of anger, he's gonna continue to stab the spider as the spider the as the spider's legs give out and it drops to the ground. The guard's then gonna turn and look at you, Nelvex, and he's gonna rush towards the rush past all three of you to the giant. You all have a chance for an opportunity attack if you'd like to take one.

Uh he hits him with his mace in the back of the head, and it slightly gets he has to kind of like wiggle it a little bit to get the spikes out as he falls to the ground, and it almost pulls him off of Eldvar, but he manages to kind of hang on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the the momentum from your your hit and pulling back actually takes the guard's body a little bit further than you, Voss, and he's gonna slide to a stop on the cobblestone directly in front of the giant.
SPEAKER_07Alright. Uh Voss is a free action, I'll say, Hey, there's uh one more snack for you. Have uh that guy like super tasty as well, like a cream puff.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Um guard two, uh, the last remaining guard, seeing everything that's transpiring around him, and seeing the giant and this child that is Harlek, is going to intentionally step away from the giant and place himself between Harleck and the Giant and all of you. And the spider's gonna take a big chomp at him. Uh, he does miss, the guard takes gets a shield up just in time to miss. Spider A, no longer entangled by the guard, is gonna step up to the woman and start making a tasty treat of her.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01And his fangs sink deep inside the woman.
SPEAKER_07Do does anybody do we see the guard like shielding Harlek? Well, Harleck's.
SPEAKER_01From where you are all are, I would say the only person that might have been able to see it is Nelvax. And obviously Harlek. And uh the woman after getting bit, her struggles stop and her eyes stop fluttering.
SPEAKER_06So Zayn will as much as he can see of the situation. Will look directly at the giant and he will tell the giant because he doesn't know that the woman is dead. Of course he can't see that. Um he will tell the giant to um he will give the giant a suggestion to help clear the rubble. Because he also doesn't know that the guard's still alive. He will tell the giant to or suggest to the giant to help clear the rubble, save the people, and then head back to wherever it is he came
Hypnotic Pattern And The Escape

SPEAKER_01Alright. The giant is gonna reach down. Each of its hands, the left hand is gonna grab around the man that's in the rubble, and the right hand is gonna wrap around Harleck as a child. And then the giant is gonna turn and walk past you, Zane. You have a chance, you want to give an opportunity attack against him. Is he carrying the He's carrying the man and Harlech.
SPEAKER_06So an attack of opportunity. Can I tell him that he's saved them?
SPEAKER_01No. You told him to save the people and return to where he came from. Uh verbatim compliance.

SPEAKER_01Uh the guard is gonna take an opportunity attack, yes. And he's gonna whiff hard. The guard's gonna take a swing and then start screaming at the giant uh and then you just can't understand what he's saying, but he's roaring at the giant as this child and man are being taken away. Did we see Harleck get taken by our friend? Yeah, I'm gonna say that you all know that he's a child and you can see him being carried away.

And so, um, yeah, he's gonna realize that there's nothing left to do, and he's just gonna yell out to the giant, um, bring him to my place, and then just, I guess, retreat back in the direction of There is still a guard up and a giant spider. Yeah, and they'll they'll take care of each other. Oh, okay. Um he was most interested in helping the giant. The giant is free, and Eldar uh does not see anything that he can really intervene on and at this point. So I think uh back towards the north is is where our house is, right? Even though it's south of the city, but I think it's north on this map.

SPEAKER_07Well, I kind of want to make a some s some sort of a check to like assess the situation. I'm not sure what I have seen, what I haven't seen. Uh I'm like uh otherwise, if I don't have a chance to make a choice, I'd have to go with Eldvar, because so far I've kind of been following his lead on pr like helping out the giant, and I have no reason to think he's not a friend. He hasn't done anything hostile towards us.

So he's gonna run and take like a slide tackle. Um he's gonna uh sheath his scimitar and go full unarmed for this motion here. Uh so I'm gonna start with uh a couple of quick unarmed attacks, uh like sweeping kicks to the giant's ankles to try to uh just I don't know, stop him from stealing his buddy to make bread out of his bones. Each creature in the area who can see the pattern must succeed on a wisdom saving through have the charm conditioned. Uh when they're charmed, they have incapacitated and a speed of zero. So I think if I attack the or if I put that on the giant, it has to be on top of Harleck and the man, correct? Yes.

Condition doesn't prevent movement on its own, though it's often accompanied by other conditions like paralyzed, petrified, or stunned.

SPEAKER_02Well, if he was dropped, then he would be damaged and he would wake up. It's not that far of a drop.

SPEAKER_00Can I can I take my opportunity attack anyway, even though it's dead? Yeah. Uh so Novax was like very confused about what's going on. So his plan when he saw the guard coming at him was just to like grapple him. So he does. He grabs him like around the waist and like gives him a little suplex and rolls him to the ground. And then like after he's on the ground holding this corpse, he looks and notices that there's no head attached anymore. And he's just like squeezing more blood out of his body.
SPEAKER_01Uh oh, thank God Harley couldn't see that. Alright, well then you guys are out of combat. How long does hypnotic pattern last, Voss?
SPEAKER_07Uh let me see. Is it off a spell? I think it's one minute.

SPEAKER_07One minute. Okay. So I think uh Voss will say hey guys, uh that that spell's not gonna last uh too long. We we might want to get it out of here, and he's gonna go up and uh talk like grab the man and then retreat back the way we came towards where Elbar went. Okay. Because at this point it's a Voss's head space. What's that? Never mind, go ahead. Grab grab man. Um Voss's headspace is he's not sure that the the giant actually understands them. He doesn't view him as an enemy. He just views him as somebody that's confused, so he wants to kind of get away with the people that they're trying to help, including the unconscious man and the unconscious Harleck.

SPEAKER_07If if these if the screams are coming from the giant or just more guards, because in his mind guards are bad and there's lots of them out there just terrorizing the city. So he kind of is thinking that guards are bad. Uh give me perception. Oh perception.
SPEAKER_06I mean, because realistically got twenty Somebody could have summoned in those bad guys, the giant and the spiders to fight off the bad guards, but where they could have escaped from the monster menagerie. Oh yeah. Well, probably not the giant.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean Voss is convinced that the guards are bad. But anyway, my perception check was a 21.
SPEAKER_0121. With a 21, you do hear some guttural screams, which does sound that do sound like guard uh werewolf guard screams and and roars of pain, but you also hear uh mix in with that screams of uh men and women that are are being hurt.
SPEAKER_07Oh I think Voss is gonna chuck that up and say, uh guys, those those guards, man, they're they're really ramsacking this town. We should probably get out of here until we can do something more about them. They're they're quite a problem. Did you see they almost killed that uh giant back there?

SPEAKER_04Well, I don't know if they were exactly the good guys, but it did seem like they might have been trying to help the civilians. Like I said, that one guard seemed like he was trying to help me.

SPEAKER_00He's not saying much. He's mostly just glad that Harlick is okay. Um the whole thing was kind of confusing. Like, he definitely had his hesitations during the fight, like not really sure. Like, none of the bad guys actually attacked him, so like that is usually a sign of who the who the bad guys are. But none of the good guys were like the only people who attacked him, he had attacked first. So he's kinda like, uh, I don't really know. That's as far as his I mean I don't know how true it is, but he's still Zayn is still questioning that you know were we really the good guys in that situation, or were we just the people who uh are we feeling like uh Indiana Jones and we really didn't have that much of an outcome of that on that story or effect on the outcome of that story?

Back At The Bastion With Seinmonder
SPEAKER_01The city, the smoke from the city, even the screams that you were hearing have faded behind you, swallowed by the uh the the dusk and just kind of the distance. And you can hear or sorry as the bastion comes into view, the world feels quiet, silent, hollow even, and you see the bastion standing before you, but it's changed a little bit since you last walked up to it. You can see guards patrolling outside uh outside the gates of the bastion. Uh there is one standing at the very entrance, you recognize them immediately as Seinmonders uh men. You can see that there is two crudely struck constructed uh catapults in the front yard of the bastion, pointing towards the gate. And Seinmonder is inspecting one of those catapults.
SPEAKER_06Um Zane will walk up to Seinmonder and uh ask him or have a greeting. Hello and say, uh you've made some changes.
SPEAKER_07I happen to like what you've done with the place.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just I know eventually they're gonna come for us, and I want to make sure that we're in a good place. They're not gonna take us without a fight.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's for sure. Talking of a bunch.
SPEAKER_01Uminder looks tired, right? His though his armor has obviously been polished since he's gotten to your bastion, he look he looks tired. He looks like he's aged ten years since he since you saw him uh in the city a week ago. And he looks at all of you and he says, Did you did you find the uh did you find the builder?
SPEAKER_06You mean the architect?
SPEAKER_01Yep, the architect.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah Yeah, we found him. Oh, he was a crazy looking.
SPEAKER_01Uh I mean he doesn't he doesn't really get out much from what I've heard.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we he we found him and he gave us this. And Eldvar is gonna hoist up his model of the children, dubbed George, uh, and show it as being the only thing that we got from the architect.
SPEAKER_01Seinmonders' eyes visibly raise, and you can all see this, and he says, he gave that to you?
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, this is George, and I love him and I squeeze him, and he is he is precious to me.
SPEAKER_01You all didn't see that, like one of them as you were down there, right? No, we didn't we didn't we didn't see one of them, there were like twenty.
SPEAKER_04There was a whole bunch of them.
SPEAKER_01Twenty? I he was supposed to stop with those experiments.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, well, he didn't. And uh kind of wanted to make him pay for it, but instead he gave us his eye and we were on our way.
SPEAKER_02I I mean I think he did stop with these. Uh he said there were others, and we didn't meet the others.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he was all kinds of crazy.
SPEAKER_03Um I'm gonna disguise self as the builder really quick. It was like, please don't take my children and and well played.
SPEAKER_01That's how you fucking barred, Ray. Uh, you know what? It's it's way too late and doesn't matter anymore, but you get heroic inspiration. You're gonna lose it in like this. Yes. Uh so he he turns to you. Hey, Seinmonder looks towards Harleck and he he's kind of taken back in disbelief. He says, that's gonna be a problem. We're definitely gonna have to take care of that at some point. What about did you see anything else? Did you see any of my men?
SPEAKER_04Oh, we met a guy named Durick.
SPEAKER_01I don't know who that is.
SPEAKER_04Oh, well then uh no one worries about him then.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we saw some we saw some were guards on the street. Those ones were your men, but not in war.
SPEAKER_07We passed a churro stand too.

SPEAKER_02Uh but I think I think it's pronounced werewolf. No, no, they were men. Um there were some giant spiders that killed them. Uh there was a uh frost giant that killed them.
SPEAKER_01Um they're they're definitely no longer men. Um Cymander lowers his head and he turns his his eyes away from all of you, and you can see his shoulders trembling slightly. And he sah he says without looking at you all, he says, I think uh I think I've had enough for today. I'm gonna go relax a bit. Maybe polish my armor.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, we were thinking kind of the same thing, just not polishing your armor. But definitely could take a break. It's been a long couple days. I could use some rest myself, and I'd like to visit my workshop. Unless you uh did you turn my workshop into a catapult?
SPEAKER_01Uh Seinmonder chuckles, but it's obviously strained, and he says, No, there's uh there wasn't enough books in there.

SPEAKER_02Oh. Uh we had a time skip then because it was like high noon when we were fighting the uh the giant, and it's only two hours from town to our place.

Downtime Plans And Research Threads
SPEAKER_06Um Zainwell start doing some research in in the library, and the topic that he is going to be looking up is possible ways for reversing the oath slash curse of the wear guards. That's what he's gonna send tell his uh he's gonna research it, but he's also gonna tell explain what he's trying to do to his uh helper guy.

SPEAKER_02Alright, so I I've got two. So the first thing, probably when we get back, um Elvar is gonna go into probably Voss's study where he's hanging out, and he's gonna say, Um, Voss, uh look, I I know you like the Uppies, and it helps you speed up, but um I feel really bad about slamming you into that monster while I had you on the Uppies, and I have something to propose to you. And so he's gonna pull out his arm, like his uh mithril armor, as well as the armor that he's picked up. The uh the armor that like sucks in shadows and is super dark. They say, um, this this armor has served me well. It's extremely light. Uh I I wouldn't feel great offering it to you without offering you the alternative, which is this other armor that we found, but it's a lot heavier. And I think I think if you take my old armor, this mithril armor, you'll be able to move faster and you'll be more effective when we really need you. And though it means it means less uppies, I'll still give you uppies.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, to be honest, uh kind of I kinda like this this I'm I'm a bit attached to it. Not that sentimental or anything, but I don't I don't mind getting the occasional uppie from you, buddy.
SPEAKER_02I I I get that, but maybe just maybe just try it. Maybe just see how it feels. It's extremely light. You can move like a feather on the breeze. Like ten more feet.
SPEAKER_07Ten more feet on everything. Oh, okay. So it's it's mithril armor. Okay, I'll I'll take a look at it.
SPEAKER_02It's it's mithril armor, it has no strength requirement. Okay, and so you'll get your full speed and you'll be stealthy because it doesn't disappo uh give you disadvantage on stealth.
SPEAKER_07I kind of like honestly, I like the flavor of the armor that I've been swinging, especially having passed without trace. So yeah, let me uh let me get through this like rework of of uh of Voss and I'll I'll let you know on the other side if I take it or not. Okay. Thank you, buddy. Um, so for for Voss, I think he's he, I mean, depending on what the the rest of the party is doing, um he's gonna spend the evening like unpacking the letter that he received right before we left on our last adventure. That was the letter from his mother, um, which he believes to be a forgery or some type of a fake. Um Uh but he wants to dig into that more and he he's he's not gonna go on an adventure unless he hears back uh from the cobalt guy, whatever his name is. Okay Twill. Or um he's gonna go try to use his contacts and his ability to sneak about the city to to figure out what's going on with his mom. So that's kind of Voss's next he's I mean, as much as he wants to, you know, use the map, go find the box, empty the box, um his his mother's actually his his mother if he feels like his mother's at all in danger, he's gonna prioritize that over the rest of what the party's doing.

George’s “Heart” Experiment Goes Wrong

SPEAKER_02Yeah, so the other thing that uh Eldvar would do is probably about like 2-3 in the morning, he's gonna go bursting into Nelvax's room and just kind of like stare at him until he wakes up.
SPEAKER_00Uh I'm awake when you come in, but I pretend to be asleep.
SPEAKER_02Uh Nelvax, are you awake? Nelvax, um can we can we can we do it? Can we bring George to life? I I solved your puzzle.

SPEAKER_02Zayn said you're an expert on constructions, and George is a construction, and you told me that if I love him, he'll come to life, and I said, I you know, I'll I'll love him with all my heart, and and can we do it? Because you have a heart to give. I I thought about giving him my heart, but then I'd be dead, and that would not work. And so can you have a heart to give him? Can we can we use that heart to bring George to life?
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, I mean we can try, but I think this heart's bigger than that whole statue, and I'll pull out the heart of LeBron.

SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's you pull it out, it is uh it is a large crystal, red crystal, and it is almost as large as George.
SPEAKER_00Did you have a plan for how to uh gestures between the heart and the figurine? You just want to set it on top?
SPEAKER_02I mean, I think we just shove it in. Like a little bit of lube, a lot of force, it probably will fit.
SPEAKER_00Well, hey, why don't we go to the workshop and I'll give this to you when we get there and we can see what happens. I think you have a good idea of what you want to do. I I'm gonna see what happens. If it doesn't, if it doesn't work out, I want the heart back, if that's okay.

SPEAKER_00So I imagine that on the way the the bar is probably on the way to the the workshop, right? Okay, so I'm gonna grab myself a little little glass of wine to observe this, and then I'll we get to the workshop uh place the figurine on the table, and then I'm gonna give the heart of the rain to Eldvar to conduct his experiment. He's gonna stick it.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, so Elvar is gonna just like find something around in this workshop to to function as some sort of lubricant. Uh he's gonna slit George open um using one of his George is not a soft model. Oh, yeah, that's fine. I'm not a soft person. Okay. Uh so he's gonna he's gonna cut deeply with a hand axe into George and try and shove this heart into the chest cavity, knowing that it's like pretty much the same size as George. Alright.
SPEAKER_01Uh Elvar, it gives you a lot of resistance. Um he's used to that. Okay. Yeah, it's it's it's giving you a lot of resistance. You can't really fit the heart in there. Uh are you gonna push harder? Yes. Give me a strength. Give me an athletics check.

SPEAKER_02And he is destroyed.
SPEAKER_00Uh we can do something about this. Uh uh, we've got people for this. This isn't the end. We we'll figure this out. George isn't done for. Well here, have some wine.

The Cursed Onyx And Potion Crafting
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna try to go up uh to see if Zane wouldn't mind helping me identify this uh mysterious black crystal I so eagerly took. Uh and then beyond that, I guess I would try to whip up some more potions as I can in the garden uh or you know the botany thing.

SPEAKER_06Zane will say so I'm not sure what it does or why it does it, but it seems to have connected to you. And he looks at Harleck and says, I'm fairly certain that it is cursed, and you are now locked to it.
SPEAKER_04Oh, great.
SPEAKER_06Well, not all curses are bad. I mean it's kind of in the name, but not all curses cursed items are bad. You just might not be able to get rid of it. Apparently you can get rid of it because that quill guy got rid of it, but right now it doesn't look like you're strong enough to get rid of it.

SPEAKER_06I w uh maybe maybe uh there's plenty of familiars running around these parts. Yeah. So um I would say just keep a hold of it and I will do more research and see what we can find out.

Library Secrets And Selling Fine Wine
SPEAKER_00Yes. Um I had some time to think about it. And one of the things I like the most about this mansion is the fine wines that are stored within. I'd like to use the storehouse to take some of those wines and trade them on the market and earn some money for the gang. Uh I get a 10% increased profit from whatever we sell. I didn't really see any prices for them. I don't really care how much money we actually generate, as long as we still have wine and we make some money off of it. Okay.

SPEAKER_00No, I have a storehouse, which its whole function is to sell shit and make money for me. Ah, okay. One of my two, yeah, one of my two bastion rooms is a storehouse. So I put I tell my people to do the thing. They they're just gonna make money, is how I read what the storehouse does. Is it just makes money?

SPEAKER_00Yeah, no one else is going to the wine like I do, so who's gonna know? I just generate more money from my my pocket that I buy stuff for people with. It's fine. Nobody'll know. It's fine. Nobody's gonna know. Uh the other thing I'd like to do is uh I think I'd previously asked the library to look into the queen specifically. I'm gonna ask my librarianslash spend my time, just looking for any kind of like inconsistencies or mysteries amongst the royal family in general outside of like the death of the prince, because that is one that we already kind of know about. If there's any other inconsistencies that maybe we could learn some more clues into the background and the history of the royal family that maybe could pertain to our clues in the future, whether it's the king, the prince, the OG queen, the new queen, or the the hagi princesses. Um I don't know that I've really distinguished in my head the difference between my player knowledge and character knowledge just yet. Yeah. So I'd like to get Nelva X closer to what I understand.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so the storekeeper or what room is this? Store library storehouse and library are my two. Alright. Yeah, uh the librarian comes up to you and says, uh So I I I I've uh uh she's a she's an older-looking woman. She says I've uh I I found a few things. One, I I don't I don't think through some accounts of uh, you know, visual accounts, things that people have seen, I don't think that there's there's one princess. Or maybe there's not one queen. Yeah, I don't think there's one queen. I think there's multiple queens, and they're all raising this princess.
SPEAKER_00Really? Um can you help me understand what that means?
SPEAKER_01Uh I think there's they're they're shape changers. Uh a couple people have been fired from the castle, a couple have disappeared. I uh I'm not really sure too much. There's a lot of back and forth here, but I'm pretty sure what we've found and what I've put together, that there's three queens and there's one princess. And the three queens are hags.
SPEAKER_00Three hag queens and one princess on top of the original queen. Yes. Interesting. And who might know of this? Do the mysteries suggest?
SPEAKER_01Uh well, the king would know. I don't think you could ask him. Um there's probably a few guards that know. Lord Seinmonder might know a few things. But yeah, I think there's three original queens and one princess who's now the queen. But obviously we've seen her face. She's she's bad. She's very bad.

SPEAKER_00Let me just look at my daily stuff to see if I want to burn anything real quick. Yeah, I'm gonna jump really high. Just one time, just because I can. Burn a spell slot. Just jump. Okay.
SPEAKER_06So when he jumps up, I'm gonna cast hold person and hold him up there.
SPEAKER_01I know that's not what it means, but uh Voss.
Patron Dream And Tempest Domain Shift
SPEAKER_01Yeah. As you lay your head on your pillow, you you pass out. Your your body's exhausted, and you fall asleep quickly. Uh and you just have these dreams over and over again of your friend, um your friend Xanover falling over and over again. And you can see his blood and the realization that you're not strong enough to save him. And you can feel your hands trembling, and you can hear your your voice whisper into the darkness of your dream, saying, I'm sorry. I tried, I wasn't enough. And the the darkness, it seems to listen, and a faint ripple forms in front of you. A tall man steps out of the darkness with a soft glow blooming around him, and you can it it seems like the light is playfully shifting around his form, almost like candlelight through stained glass. And you recognize him as your patron. And he's floating directly in front of you in this darkness, and though you you normally recognize his voice as teasing, you you right now it's It's warm and still got a little bit of mischievousness in it, but it's it's warm and it's gentle. And he places his hand on your shoulder and he says, Little spark. You carry a wound, no trick can soothe. You've used my gifts well. Avoiding danger, turning odds, weaving shadows, making friends. And he lifts his hand towards you, touching your cheek, and you can feel a warmth kind of engulf you. But shadows cannot shield a heart that wants to protect. Your grief has changed you. And your patron disappears from in front of you. And where there was once darkness, lightning flashes all around you. And it starts booming. You hear thunder booming all around you as lightning crashes into the ground, lightning arcing across the sky, and another figure steps forward, sheathed in in blue and white light. You were never meant to hide my spark. You were meant to stand and fight. And then this new figure that you see steps forward and shoots directly in front of you. He says, Child of grief, you feel powerless. You mourn the one you failed to save. But your sorrow is not weakness. It is the spark of what you are becoming. You beg for strength, not for vengeance, but to protect those around you. The powerless call out and the storm answers. And you wake in a start. And you can look as you look around you in the room, you see a little spark on your fingertips. And you've now transitioned from a trickery domain cleric to a tempest domain cleric.
SPEAKER_07I can identify whatever I want to. Is there at least like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles like theme song playing in the background? That's probably reference that you won't even get.

SPEAKER_07Did you see Ray's facial expressions throughout that he did? No, I thought it was really awesome. He hasn't. He hasn't been, he wasn't wincing and trying to like cover his ears for words in the episode.

SPEAKER_07Hey, I like I like Tempest Clerics. I think I could uh I think I could do something with that. Yeah, who knows? I've never played a Tempest Cleric before.

SPEAKER_02You ruined everything. Way from the top rope.
SPEAKER_07Forget, forget this cleric, this random cleric class that has to prepare spells. I ain't doing another one of those. Never again.
SPEAKER_01Uh Nelvex.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, I'm a little surprised. I thought you were enjoying yourself as a trickery cleric.
SPEAKER_07Is this something that you were pursuing or just it so we I can I can spill the beans. We we had a a total uh one-shot uh there's our last recording for this this episode. And I think you could totally edit this out uh if you really wanted to. But the while while we're doing that, I actually play tested a Tempest Cleric character that I felt was more like my my entire character is ranged attack. Like I have like I there's not a lot I can do and from a melee standpoint, and so I play tested a Tempest Cleric and actually really liked it. So more more tanky, more up close melee, and it worked really, really well. Um I mean Ray Ray did a lot in that episode.
SPEAKER_02Did I Ray hid while you blew everybody out?
SPEAKER_03I feel like I was hiding.
SPEAKER_00I mean I didn't want to find but it takes a lot of effort to hide that character.
SPEAKER_03No, you're you're fine. Famously, we know I'm not good at combat.
SPEAKER_07Well, so I I built I mean to be honest, like I built this character out. I was like, oh, I'll just be the meat shield and Ray can do all the damage. And somehow this creature did all the damage for the entire combat scenario we went through, and he was an Ninja Turtle. It was what what was the name, Andrew? It's like Rafaelangelo?
SPEAKER_02Rafaelangelo or something like that.
SPEAKER_07Ralphatello, Ralfatello, Ralfatello was his name.
SPEAKER_03I rolled incredibly low like the entire night, too.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it was not entirely your your fault, but yeah, it it was it was a lot of fun to play, and so and and Ray wasn't a bard, believe it or not. What was I? Yeah, what was your case? Oh, I was uh warlock on the broom or something like that, right?
SPEAKER_03I was the uh yeah, the imp Oh yeah, the broom.
SPEAKER_02You're a Sorlock. Yeah, Sorlock. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, so it was a lot of fun to play. It was just more just it's it's gonna just changing Voss back into more of a melee damage cleric. Uh apparently I'm gonna have to prepare spells, but you know, there's trade-offs to everything.
SPEAKER_00Hell yeah, cool. I'm glad we're gonna get more out of it. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, we'll see.
SPEAKER_00I personally didn't need any help sneaking, but I I thought it was a cool little gig, you know?
SPEAKER_02A little weakened. And we didn't have to kill Voss for for making the change either.
