We all have intuition.

We all have a deeper signal guiding us.

So why is it so hard to hear?

In this episode, Melissa explores the difference between signal and noise - the quiet voice of your blueprint versus the conditioning, fear and survival patterns that often drown it out.

You’ll learn how to begin recognising the difference between the two and why reconnecting with your inner guidance is one of the most powerful shifts you can make.

Melissa also shares how the Akashic field can help quiet the noise and reconnect us with the deeper intelligence already within.

Hello and welcome back to the Mystic in Training podcast. With me, your host, Melissa Amos. Last week we spoke about the five ancient truths that seem to appear across traditions, across centuries, across the world. We started to dive into the ideas like we're not separate, fear is an illusion, the mind shapes reality, that we have everything inside that we will ever need. But the real question becomes if these truths do exist, if our blueprint and this intuitive guidance is actually there, if we all have this deeper wisdom already inside us, then where is it? Why is it so hard to hear? Why aren't we all just following this inner guidance? Why are we still so confused? Why do we doubt ourselves so much? Since I recorded the last episode, I've been thinking about that more deeply and recognizing it in the courses and in the conversations that I've been having. And I think it comes down to one thing. And I think we'll call it for today noise, because we have that signal. I think that if you're listening to this podcast, you're pretty sure that there is a soul, there is a spirit, there is an intuitive voice, there is a higher guidance that sits somewhere inside us and it's there. But most of us are living not from that space. And I think it's not because of lack of want, it's not because of lack of desire to do this, but it's because we live in a world right now that is so full of distraction and of opportunity and of people telling us what to do and of outside information. We are literally in the age of intelligence and technology right now, and we can go onto our phones, which we all keep in our pockets, and be able to access anything. And whilst this can be really helpful, also it can separate us if we're not careful and if we're not conscious about how we're tuning into this, into that original signal, and all of the stuff outside of ourselves, and I will say a lot of the stuff inside of ourselves is just noise. So, what is that signal? So the signal is the intuition, this truth, this divine blueprint, this soul guidance, this part of you that already knows. The thing that that has been kind of quietly pushing you forward, the thing that brings you those ideas and those inspirations in the middle of the night or whilst you're in the shower, that says to you, you're here for more, that says to you, why don't you go and do this, that might give you this desire or this need that seems to be often so far from logic, so far from the reality that you're in right now, but there's a there's a quality to it, there's something that's sitting inside it that you just know. I don't even want to say you just know is true, because we can quite often doubt what this guidance is, but it feels alive, it feels like it's made for you. It can quite often feel like a dream come true. This might be, for example, this starting your own business. This might be that you want to be a world-class healer, this might be that you want to write that book or be on that stage or receive that promotion or whatever it is that has been coming in, which might seem logically impossible, traveling even to that country that you want to go to. And it's exciting, and I will say it's often quite scary. But the thing with that signal is it often feels different, it feels like there's not an argument for or against it, it just kind of is. It might come as a vision, as an image, as a word, it might even come as a yearning, a desire. And for some of us, it even comes seemingly from the outside world as uh like we see somebody else doing this and we get this response inside. But I call this part our divine blueprint. This is like the thing that contains the potential of what it is that we are here for, based on us, based on our desires, based on what brings us joy, based on the the experiences that we've had in our lives. It's the thing that almost won't leave us alone, but in the quieter moment. It's also the thing, and you might not like me for saying this, but it's also the thing that can often signal that what we are doing isn't in alignment with that. And how it signals through that is through discomfort, is through this sense of I should be doing something more. It's through questions like there must be more to life than this. And it can even be through outside triggers when we see somebody doing something that we really want to do, and rather than being inspired by it, we get mad or sad or envious. And so it's interesting, and we all have it. I think the difference between somebody who who really works with that and this conscious leadership isn't so much the strength or the like it's it's not a magic button. It's not, oh, okay, well, she's just intuitive, so everything's gonna work out for her. It's more so recognizing the signal because what sits around that and on top of that and encompasses all of it is what we're gonna call noise. So what's the noise? It's like those conditions, those programmings, those self-doubts, those limiting beliefs, the old survival strategies, the things that we were told isn't possible, the dreams that you had when you were a kid, and then your parents say to you will be more realistic. The ambition that you might have in the industry or space that you in, but the culture around you tells you no that this isn't possible. It comes through programming of our family and our cultures and our traditions and the collective. Nowadays, more so than ever, it comes through social media and what other people are doing. It comes through AI and all of the intelligence that we have access to all of the time. It can even come through this desire to know everything now and to want everything in the moment. Like back in my day, when I was a kid, if I wanted to go and find something out, I had to go to a library or go and ask somebody who was more wise than me for information, which slowed everything down, which I think helped bring more of us on board to the to the quest rather than this instant satisfaction that that comes in. And that noise can seem or feel really overwhelming. It can be quite present, it's loud, it's urgent, it's like it it has this quality of, well, this is what you should be doing, this is what's best. Don't do that. It's very like convincing, it has a really convincing quality to it, and it feels like it's like, oh, it's loud, it's urgent, it's there. And so, does it not stand to reason that our default in the world that we're living in right now moves to that first? That noise can often be linked to our survival strategies. And let's be honest, it doesn't matter how good our intuition is and how amazing our connection is, if we're not in this body, if we don't survive, right? If I'm about to bring put myself in a dangerous position, then it doesn't matter how good my intuition is because I won't be in my body to be able to receive it. And so these survival strategies, which is why I think we have them, this urgency, this sense of it has to happen now, which we've developed over centuries as being something very present, can often feel more compelling and easier to listen to. And because that noise is often backed up by what we see in society, what we see in our programming, what we saw growing up, what we see around us, and how we are trained, if you like, into this normal way of being, it's like it's the it's often the easier or the seeming easier route to take. We're less likely to be rejected if we do what everybody else is doing. We're less likely to look the fool if we have enough information that we receive from people who know better than us. We are it's packaged as this is the safe way. And perhaps for some it is, but I don't believe that all of us were put on this earth to keep on repeating what has already happened. I don't think that life was meant to be just rinse and repeat over and over again. From everything that I've read, and we go back to these ancient truths, this is about knowing ourselves and evolving and growing and becoming and really stepping into the person, the human and the soul that our blueprint has coded, if you like, for not just the good of us, not just so that we feel alive and open and ready, but also for humanity and for humanity's growth. But all the while, what we are, I will say, fighting against is this external compulsion that links so desperately to our safety mechanisms, to avoidance, to protection, to I'm not safe, so how do I first of all survive? That the very thing that we have within us that can help us thrive often goes quiet. Now, this is not all doom and gloom. Because what I've realized is the more that we are in this survival strategy, the more we are in these programmings, the noise, what I call in Akashic Reiki, the overlays, the heavier it feels, the less connected we feel. We have this impetus that sits within us, and as like, no, what like is there something wrong with there must be more to this? And that discomfort can often be the reminder into okay, I'm tuning into the wrong frequency here. I've separated enough from my true self to know that this isn't right, and my signal is this discomfort, is this noise, is this confusion. So, what do we do? Well, the first thing is awareness, is recognition. The first thing is coming away from this podcast and going, okay, so I have these different voices, I have these different internal mechanisms that are happening, and beginning to understand the difference, the quality of the noise versus the signal. This is the first step. How does it feel when I am receiving information from my safety mechanisms, from my programming, from my conditioning? And what's different when I have that sense of inspiration that comes in while I'm doing the dishes? What's the difference? And that can come with mindfulness, that can come with meditation, of course, that can come with inner inquiry, that can do come from doing hands-on practice. And for me, it came very much through presence, through just wondering, okay, what what's going on in my right mind right now? How does it feel in my body? What images am I receiving? How does it sound? Because for me, the noise often feels like it's coming from all around me, whereas that intuition and that soul voice feels almost like it's coming from a center point. It's more still and it feels more alive. That's for me. And it comes with slowing down, it comes actually with not trying to fight against the noise and not even really having the intention of, well, I'm going to turn the noise down. Because what happens when we try and fight against it is it just dials up. It's just those parts of you, which I do want to say at this juncture are usually there for protection. They're there for a reason. They're like, oh my God, we aren't safe. Somebody turn up the volume down here. And so the volume comes up, the urgency comes up, the incessantness comes up. And if we're trying to battle against it, it's only gonna get more overwhelming. But if we come at it with this curiosity, with this knowing, with this acceptance of, oh hello, like for me, I have a I have a voice that sometimes tells me some not very nice things, and I'm like, hey, she has a name. How are you doing? I don't think that's true today, but tell me what you've got going on. Tell me what you think, and giving it that space and that acceptance, and dare I say that love of okay, you're frightened, you are trying to help me fit in, for example. And just noticing what the message under the message is. For me, one of my coping strategies is I need to know more. As a line five in the Enneagram and in my my human design, actually, I value knowledge, and so often my safety mechanism can be I need to know more. And so I go to search for more. But there's a very much a difference between searching for more and taking everything as truth, and then searching for more and bringing it in and noticing the difference, noticing where that disparity is. It really comes from trusting that you do have this inner voice inside and that it is speaking to you, but recognizing the difference between the two. That's it. And once we recognize it, without the need to fix ourselves, without the need to shut it up, but just with the intention to settle it down and to recognize it. Oh, this is noise, oh this isn't true, oh, this is my survival pattern, and then asking a better question. What does my soul think of this? What does my intuition think of this? What does my heart think of this? Having conversations and building relationships with those different aspects of you. This is one of the reasons why Akashic Reiki has been so powerful in my own life and with the people that I work with. Because in the Akashic field, everything just is. There isn't the judgment. And so when we move into that space of okay, this is being recorded. Is this right for my soul and my growth and my evolution? There's nothing wrong, but there's just information. And we bring with that the love and the acceptance and the understanding that there's a message in everything, that there's a quality in everything, that we don't need to fix anything. We begin by default to reconnect with that blueprint that sits underneath, that sits beneath the noise. And by the simple act of recognition and presence, the inner signal gets louder and the noise settles down. So maybe that's your your homework. I don't think I've given you homework for a while. So maybe that's your homework this week is just listen. Just ask yourself a different question. Ask yourself when you're making a decision, when something's coming up, when you're feeling confused, where's the noise and where's the signal? And get to know the difference. And you might be surprised to feel and know quite how often your intuition is really speaking with you. So happy hunting, and I will see you next time.
