SPEAKER_01

Welcome to Read Me Next, the Book Club But Make It a Podcast.

SPEAKER_00

Where we have lots of feelings and no qualifications. What are we reading this week, Peely? We're reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarrows. So much fun. Yeah, this was our book club pick for March. The best book club pick so far. So far, thank God. We got a good one, guys. This year has been like a little bit of ooh on the book clubs. The book clubs have been rough, but this one, this one, I loved it. Amazing. I have to say, I can't believe I wasn't on like the romantic train for a while. Like, still, like my first ever was Quicksilver.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I just like the plot, the action, the spice, the the banter. Literally. I'm like, you would love this. I told you. Living through this. So excited. It was so much fun. So it was romantic. Yeah. It was on Kind Unlimited. Yeah. It's part of a trilogy. Oh, yes, yes, yes. The first book of a trilogy. I was also gonna say that. It was on Hoopla. Yes. Shout out Hoopla. Shout out Hoopla was so much fun to listen to.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the narrator was Rebecca Soler, and she was amazing. So good. Loved her.

SPEAKER_00

The emotion she was putting into it. The acting. Yeah, exactly. Like the acting of the book. Like I felt her laughter. I felt her being scared. I felt her like all of her emotions. I was able to like proceed really well.

SPEAKER_01

She was amazing. Like I really liked reading the book, but also listening to it was so much fun.

SPEAKER_00

I did a lot of the immersive reading, like reading and listening to her at the same time.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, which was really good. It's about 550 pages.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's a lot. So this romanticy had a lot of dragons and like griffins and those type of things. Magic. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So much fun. It wasn't in like the fairy vampire realm. It was in the dragon griffins realm. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It was so good. Super cool, super cool. So I was excited to like read a new type of fantasy since I only read that one last time. No, this was new for me too. I've never I haven't read about dragons. It was so good. It gave how to train your dragon vibes. And I, that is my cup of tea right there. That's like one of my favorite movies. The fact that you compared it to that is ridiculous. I literally was reading this and I was like, oh, how to train your dragon. Yes. That's so fucking funny. Literally, that was me, but I loved it. So what did you rate it? Give me, you gotta give me special meter and the regular rating.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So I know we say we ride the high. Oh, I ride that high. We ride that high, but I loved this book. Good. I loved it from the beginning. Like it caught me from the beginning, and I was just on this wild ride, and it was amazing. It reeled me in. Love that. So? Six stars. Wow. I feel like I felt all of the emotions. I was so and it might have been also like the narrator was just that fucking good. So good. But like even the writing, like when I was reading it, I was just like nervous and excited. I kept texting you, like, I want to throw up. Yeah. It was just so many emotions that it captured. So I was like, you know what?

SPEAKER_00

Another six star read. I love that for you. Thank you so much. I love when we love a book like that. That shit's so much fun.

SPEAKER_01

I loved it. And you know what I thought was also interesting? It's like it's the first one out of the series. So not only am I so fucking excited to read the next ones, but like it captured me from the beginning. Like the story is just like that good. Like book one.

SPEAKER_00

The plot was plotting, man. I love that shit. Fucking good. That was so good. Alright, what'd you rate it? I rated a four and a half. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it was really, really good. For me, it was harder for me, and I don't know if it was just because of all the words being thrown. You know how that shit is in these books. But it was kind of harder for me to like visualize what they were talking about sometimes. Like I still don't really know what the parapet looks like. It's like a bridge. Yeah, but like No? Of is there's no like of what?

SPEAKER_01

It's just like a stone bridge. Like a thin stone bridge. No? See, like, alright. No, like I could totally imagine everything. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think that like really set me like a little bit confused in the beginning. Because I was really trying to grasp what she was trying to portray. And that was tough for me. And I was like, is this like a I'm stupid, obviously. And I'm like, is it giving the the the bridge in Shrek? You know, when he tries to go get the dragon?

SPEAKER_01

And I'm like, it can't be that not that, but similar in Falls of your dadish, yeah, kind of. You know what I mean? Yeah. Fault to the fucking in planes.

SPEAKER_00

So, but I think like that's why I gave it a four and a half. So, question did you like it more or less than Quicksilver? Because I think Quicksilver you rated a five. I loved Quicksilver.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think I liked fourth one better than Quicksilver. Interesting. The dragons really got me. The dragons really got you. I mean, I love the dragons. It was such a good part of the story. See, but like it's so hard for me because like I felt everything. Like I cried in this book. Well, I mean, when do you not cry? Valid.

SPEAKER_01

But, anyways, okay. All right. So your spice ometer was what? Spiceometer, I get four and a half. I love the spice. The spice. And like the tension. Oh my god, there's so many tension-y parts. So many tensiony parts.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So the spiceometer, I rated it at three and a half, four.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Because I agree. The tension was like super, super tension-y. Yeah. But there wasn't as much spice because obviously I think it's like the first book of the series. Yeah. Like it kind of like went towards the end, which is completely okay. I'm not saying I didn't love that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was great. Yeah, no, no. The spice that we got hot.

SPEAKER_01

Hot.

SPEAKER_00

Hot, hot, hot.

SPEAKER_01

No, I really love this book. Yeah. Same. Okay. Let's talk about it. So a little summary. Okay, so a little bit about the plot. Our FMC, her name is Violet Soringo, and she has been basically training her entire life to be a scribe, which is like a kind of a historian. Yeah, like a librarian. Loki. Yeah. And so her mom is the general of the army. And she was like, Nope, you're not gonna be a scribe. You are going to be a dragon rider. And so she goes to the dragon rider, basically, like the university for for that. And she's like starts training to be a dragon rider. Yep. And that's where she meets the MMC, which is Zaydon Royerson. Zaiden. So he's a third year. I love that shit. I eat it up. I eat this up.

SPEAKER_00

I love how they like. No, we need to talk about it. Like I'm done. Yeah, okay, okay. So yeah, spoilers here. So I really thought it was like such a classic, but I loved it. Like I ate it up also. Was like the their parents being enemies. Oh. I was like, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

We love when when the family members are enemies. We love when they're supposed to hate each other, but they can.

SPEAKER_00

They can.

SPEAKER_01

Oh it was so good. There were so many things that happened in this book. So many things. Okay. So essentially the college is made up of different wings. I'm assuming for the dragons. And so she she gets part of the same though. Yeah. Sometimes I'm like, oh that's why. And so she gets assigned fourth wing. And the basically the way the breakdown is you have fourth wing and you have a wing leader. In this case, it's Zaydan. Love. So Zaydan is the the wing leader and he has like an executive officer. And after that, it comes, it like breaks down into sections. So they have claw, flame, and tail sections. Each one of those has a section leader. Each one of those has different squads. And in this case, her squad leader was Dane, who was like her childhood best friend. Her bestie. So she's like, oh my gosh, I know somebody. Yay, Dane. Love him. He's my childhood BFF. And he's kind of hot too. I was like, ooh, what's going on?

SPEAKER_00

He literally for a long time I was like, I know I was like a love triangle. No, I don't like that. I know. Don't like me at love triangle.

SPEAKER_01

But he was like a bitch. So no, 100%. We're gonna talk about it. Yeah. But so that's kind of the hierarchy of the squad. And so she gets assigned Zaid in squad and she has a few different friends that come along with her and well that she meets along with.

SPEAKER_00

She friends she's not supposed to meet, but ends up having.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, literally.

SPEAKER_00

She ends up having. Which I love them.

SPEAKER_01

I love the found family in this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All of them. So freaking cute. Okay, so the whole point of everything in this book is they have to do several different obstacles to even be allowed to try to bond with a dragon. Yeah. Right? So what I really liked about this book is like the humans like don't have control over anything that the dragons do, which I love. And they have to like prove themselves to the dragons. They have to walk in front of them, like parade in front of them, and you know, they have to know to look them in the eye or to like not even look their way, things like that. And they all kill you. There's so many things. On site. On site. So I love that. Yeah. So that is their goal, right? To bond with a dragon. After they bond, which was super cool, they can like get into your head.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So that that in itself was so cool to me. I love that. Yeah. Like they can just communicate with their dragon.

SPEAKER_01

Once they bond, yeah. Yeah. So essentially, as part of that ritual that they have with the dragons and everything, they also have to go through these squad battles. Mm-hmm. And there's like it was giving wipeout in my head.

SPEAKER_00

The gauntlet? The gauntlet. Oh my god, completely. Dead ass, right? Dead ass. All right. It was like a really scary, like, we'll kill you wipeout. Yeah, yeah. 100%. When she was swinging hand to hand. No, no, like everything. The ropes. Oh my god. You're completely right, right?

SPEAKER_01

I I was imagining that. And so there was a lot of things that happened. So they had to go through like all of these different challenges. So the first one to initially even get into the fucking school, they have to cross the parapet. And it's from my imagination, it's like this long ass bridge. It was pouring rain. So her her sister's a rider, and so she has already gone through all of this. And she trades boots with her. And she's like, bitch, you need some like grip in your boots, or you're gonna slide off this goddamn bridge. And that's where she meets Ree, essentially another student going through the same thing. And she's like, she trades a boot with her, and that's how they become basically base best friends. Yeah, they get besties. And I remember that part you thought was really sad because Danny or David, or whatever his name was, died.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, yeah. She was so sad. I was like, oh, we're gonna be killing people off of this book. Yeah, literally, no. Some literally in the beginning of the book, it's like this man who was like, Yeah, I'm so excited because supposedly you can get married right after you graduate. And he pulls out this ring and he's like, Yeah, she's waiting for me or something. Yeah, he's like, It's gonna be a while, but it's gonna be worth it. Oh, fucking dies. Dies right there. Yeah, like, okay, sorry. And that's where we meet My heart broke.

SPEAKER_01

Jack Barlow. Fuck Jack Barlow. Mm-hmm. So he was he was basically her bully throughout the entire time. He was her biggest hater. No, yeah. Like he was trying to kill her. Yeah, he was running on the parapet trying to murder her. Literally.

SPEAKER_00

Number one, he was just a bully. Yeah. But as she goes, people notice that she's not as strong as others, and they want to just kill her off because she's the weakest, like she's the weakest link, she's the general's daughter. So unlucky, this girl.

SPEAKER_01

After they do that, they get through the parapet, they break down into their squads. So in the gauntlet, that's another thing that, like you said, she was the weakest link. And so they're training to do that because basically the squad that gets the highest or the fastest score, they get like special privileges or whatever. And during that part, Orley died. That was fucking sad.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that was so sad. Right? That was really sad. Yeah. It didn't hone in on like whoever her like crew was and take care of them specifically. No. She was killing people off left and right. For real.

SPEAKER_01

But that's so that was like, I was like, oh, damn.

SPEAKER_00

So during the parapet, we meet Zaydan. Yeah. Zayden Ryerson. Yeah. Right? Zaydan is the son of Fen Ryerson, who I guess was leading some sort of rebellion. Violet's mom is General Soringo. Obviously, Zaydan's dad was on the wrong side. He was a traitor. So I believe the general had him killed. Yeah. While she's doing all these challenges, I thought it was super sweet because Myra gave her Brennan's book, like his journal.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And so he had originally given it to Myra to help out throughout all of these challenges throughout their first year as Dragon Riders.

SPEAKER_00

So it was funny because during these challenges and the sparring that she had to do, since she is like a fragile woman, she can't take the fighting as much. She would kind of figure out who she was gonna fight, which was so funny because everybody's like, How do you figure that out? She literally was just looking at a board. Yeah. So yeah, she would just basically poison them through their breakfast because she was on breakfast duty. Yeah, I love that. That was so funny. She was so smart. Yeah, she was so smart. It was a cool way to see that she knew how to use everything to her advantage because she was just not as strong and she knew that.

SPEAKER_01

100%.

SPEAKER_00

She's like, all right, we gotta do it, we gotta figure it out. We gotta do what you gotta do. So as he's trying to find berries to make the poison, she ends up eavesdropping on Zaiden, who's having some secret hangout with all the children of the traitors. Yeah. That all had the relics. And she finds out that he's just being a sweet, nice man. Yeah. And like kind of being a leader and a mentor to them, asking them, like, what do they need? This and that. So he, of course, finds out that she's there when she comes down the fucking tree. And he's like, Can I trust you not to say anything? And she's like, Yeah. And that's kind of how they set the tone for their trust relationship.

SPEAKER_01

So apparently, if more than three traitor children are together, then that's like against their codex, which is like their rules. And she was like, They're really not doing anything wrong. Like he's being super nice guy, just fucking training them. We love Zaiden. Yeah, we love Zaden.

SPEAKER_00

She's like, Of course he has to be fucking nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. He's like hot as fuck, and he's also nice. I hate it. Their internal monologue was so funny. So freaking funny. Yeah. I thought it was hilarious. So we move on. Yeah, they did the gauntlet, and now they're going up to the dragons, just so the dragons get a feel for the people. So they're walking, they're like, you know what? Walk in a straight line, walk down, walk back up, stay seven feet apart, don't make eye contact, don't do nothing.

SPEAKER_00

And it was crazy because the dragons killed prior and Luca during that part. Crazy. Isn't that it's funny because like stay seven feet apart because if one dies, you could also die if you're too close. I'm like, what? If they set fire to them, like you could be in the fire zone. Awkward. And it was crazy. I was like, damn, they don't play these fucking dragons. No, that was such a good part. And the part where like the dragons could smell they were sniffing there, it was so funny. I was cracking up. No, and Re was like just like trying out to the look. I can imagine that part. That was really good. It was so funny. Yeah, I really like that part.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So after they parade, yeah, they have to actually go into the into like the forest for their threshing, what they called, which is when they get paired up with the dragons. They bond with them. Yeah. During like the little parade that they do, sh they see uh this little gold dragon, which is so cutie patootie. Nothing like the other dragons. They're also told that there is one black dragon that isn't going to bond. Like they're not doing the bonding ceremony. And like the black dragons are supposed to be like the biggest, baddest motherfuckers in town.

SPEAKER_00

I knew she was gonna bond with the black dragon once I mentioned it. You caught that when you were reading it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I thought she was gonna bond with the little golden one. I didn't know she was gonna bond with both of them.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. Oh yeah, no, I could have never pictured both of them being bonded, but I knew she was gonna bond with the black one.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what they mentioned the black one, and I'm like, okay, she's gonna bond with that one. And then they mentioned the gold one, and I'm like, okay, she's gonna bond with that one. But she bonded with both of them. It was so good.

SPEAKER_00

Threw us for a loop.

SPEAKER_01

I threw us for a loop. Okay, no, but hold on. So they get to the threshing, right? And Jack Barlow, fucking loser bully, and two of his little minions are like, we need to kill the gold dragon because it's like it's weak, it's it's stupid, or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

What's up with him? Like thinking everything is weak, so he has to kill her.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up. What a fucking loser. Get out of here. Typical bully. Typical bully. And so they're going to kill this little dragon, and she's like, No, you can't kill it. It's against the codex. They're like, we don't give a fuck. And so they attack her three on one. She's, like you said, weak. She's not like the strongest, whatever. She had already fucked up her ankle on the way there. She fucked up her ankle. She's telling the little dragon, can you fucking fly away? Like, I'm trying to protect you. All of a sudden, Zaydan and his dragon, Zagale, they're there, but they supposedly can't do anything. Like, they can't interfere with the threshing. Yeah, because they're a wingleader. Yeah, with the ceremony. And so it's just like this like tension y ass part. She's trying to save this fucking dragon. She's like basically about to die. They're gonna kill her. And the black dragon, Taryn, comes to the fucking rescue. And it turns out that he's very protective of the little dragon and Darna, right? And so basically he bonds with Violet, which is so good. So good. So then they go back and she's like, Okay, I bonded with Taryn, the big black dragon. It's like you said that they were talking to each other in their heads. Yeah, which was so good.

SPEAKER_00

And then at this point, all of a sudden she's like, Yep, I bonded with this one. And then she hears a little voice in her head and she's like, Andarna. And she's like, Who was that? Like a goddamn minute. So she ended up bonding with two dragons, which is unheard of. Yeah, no, so they had to have this whole matey of the dragon because they're like, um, excuse me, this can't do this. Yeah. So then after that whole debacle happens, right? Then Zaydan, for some reason, like keeps talking to her, keeps going near her, and she finds out that her dragon is mated with Zaiden's dragon.

SPEAKER_02

I love that.

SPEAKER_00

So mates. So the only thing stronger than a dragon and a writer's bond is the dragon. Yeah, so fucking cute.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, No, when I read that, I was like, oh, I love it. I didn't expect that. No, we neither. And it was such a good part.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, that was so good. I was like, oh, I love this. Iconic, iconic. If they're not mates, then the dragons be mates. So of course they were mates, and she has two dragons. So I also thought Andarna was gonna be like their kid, and it's not. Andarna wasn't their kid. Yeah, she's like Sagale is just fond of her. So cute. I love Zagale. She was so funny. Not only Violet has telepathy with Taryn, but Taryn actually has telepathy with Violet and Zaydan. Right? Siguel, yeah. And Segail. So it's like a four-way bond here. It's so fun. So fun. Um, and they are like the strongest dragons of like the batch. Yeah, they're the strongest uh dragon writers. So fun. So then at this point, now Violet has to work towards finding out what her signet is gonna be.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that was a whole other part of the book. All their signets and their power and trying to control it.

SPEAKER_00

Um, you know who we didn't mention that we hated? Go ahead. No, I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

You're talking about fucking signets, him being a shadow wielder. Oh my god. But she's not any fucking hotter man. Yes, I know.

SPEAKER_00

No, amazing. I love a shadow daddy. No, shadow daddy. That's just so funny. I love that. I love that. It just goes to like the dark, uh bad boy. Give me hide me with your shadows. I love my favorite. Who do we hate? Dane.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I was literally gonna put good shit putting Dane in his place right after that. Dane, what a fucking loser.

SPEAKER_00

He was like such that's the perfect word for him. Is he was a loser. Bro, like I get it that you don't want to see her hurt, but bro, she made her decision. She's here. Support her. Shut up.

SPEAKER_01

The first half of the book, he's trying to get her to be a scribe. He's like, Oh, like and sneaky out. Shut the fuck up. She wants to be a goddamn literally and writer.

SPEAKER_00

He didn't support her at all. No, like she didn't even he didn't even think she could make it. No, no, he was such a bitch.

SPEAKER_01

He was such a bitch. And then I love the part where Zaydan's like, would you not even have broken a rule for her? And he was like, No, I wouldn't have. Get the fuck out of here. And then he kissed her. No. Get out. Get the fuck out. Absolutely not. Absolutely. Dane. I loved her.

SPEAKER_00

I love how immediately she's like, I felt nothing. I love that. Thank you. That was amazing. I'm like, okay, no trying to have done by Dane. Perfect. Oh. So the entire fucking boogie was annoying. So after this, after they all have their own dragons, it's not only about the dragons, right? They're in a war. So they have to learn how to think like fighters, how to strategize and all these things. Yeah. So one of the games is each squad has to bring to the table something that the enemy would want most. Like something super valuable for the enemy. Exactly. So she was just so cunning and so good at everything. I loved her. So of course they're all their squad is all like in a huddle trying to figure out what are they gonna steal. So one of the options was a scroll or something, something like that. So which was really good, which gave her the idea to break into her mom's office. Yeah, I was like, oh shit, what are they gonna steal? Yeah. So at this point they didn't even know what they were gonna steal, which I think was fucking insane. Yeah, crazy. Like they were just like, all right, let's see what we can see what the vibes are. What? Yeah. They get into the office and she's looking around. And I thought she was gonna steal the scrolls for uh for a second, but she was so confused, and she turned around and they stole the entire map of Baskaya with all their borders and wherever's the weakest and all the things, and they brought that and all hell broke loose after that with the professors. Yeah, no, they won. Yeah, so fucking cool.

SPEAKER_01

She's so cool. So good. Their prize for winning that squad game was they got to go to an actual outpost. And oh, at this point, also it sh we should mention that Taryn and Zagale, they can't be apart for longer than a few days because they're mated. And so they got they get like really upset and they're like, we don't bend to humans' rules. Yeah, they go to this outpost, which is where she finds uh Mira.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, that was so sweet.

SPEAKER_01

I loved that part. When they when the sisters met up again, it was so cute. Violet? No, it was so funny. And they're like, You're not an only child. No, that was so cute. That was so funny. You didn't die. I the narrator was so good. I loved it. I was like giggling, I was smiling ear to ear. I'm like, yay, the sisters set up again. Literally. They're there for a few days. She's talking to Mira and she's like, Do we even know like how long these uh like dragons can be apart from each other? And then Zadem walks in and he's like, apparently it's only three days. And I was like, Oh, he's here. I love that man. No, no, no, hold on. So that part's good, right? Yeah. Okay. They get to the it's like the next day or something, and they're in kind of like this battle room or whatever, and they're talking strategies, and Mira's like, okay, let's talk if it were hypothetical. And they're like, All right, hypothetically, Dane's like, I would be the leader. And some somebody's like, um, we have fucking Zaydan right here. He's our wingleader. Do you not know? Dane is so fucking stupid, bro. Literally. And so Zavan's like, just let him fucking let just let Atos be the wing the wingle since he wants to be it so fucking bad. So that part is hilarious because she's like, Don't be a fucking dick. And he's like, Oh, you haven't even beginning to see a dick. And she says it in her head. That was like, she didn't, she's like, she looks at him like, excuse me.

SPEAKER_00

Literally, she's like, How are you in my head? No, you know what I also really liked about this part was I don't know who said it, but they were just like, Do you guys just want to whip out your dicks and measure? Yeah, no, that was also a part that was so funny. I loved it. Um another part that I really liked with Pat, which has to do with like the telepathy thing, was when she woke up at one point and was just like so horny because Taryn and Siguel, I guess, were They were getting it on. They were getting it on someone. She's like, I Feel everything that he feels. I could just imagine. No, she was in heat. She like literally, she was in heat. Like I felt like she was on fire. No, I love that part.

SPEAKER_01

I loved that part. And he was like, You're gonna need to learn how to put your barriers up because they get like hot and heavy. Literally. It was so funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I don't know what caused him to like hold her head for a sec, like to look at her or something, and he was like, Oh shit. He's like, I need to let go. It was so good. I loved that part. That was so funny. Love it. So after they come back from Myra, she had her first battle of the war games, right? And at this point, we know Jack is some annoying ass motherfucker, right? So he is going for the kill all the time for no fucking reason. So during this, he is trying to kill Liam, who is like Zaydon's right hand man, who And like her bodyguard and became like her really good friend. Became her bodyguard because once everybody's bonded to a dragon, the unbonded try to kill them to have a chance to bond, right? Yeah. So then one of the war games, Jack is trying to kill Liam. Yeah. And he's like almost there. He's right at this point. Violet is super emotional because she's watching it. So she all of a sudden feels all this power and basically just like lightning strikes the next tower, building, whatever, closest to Jack, and it falls on him and kills him. Yeah. So that was insane. So she's a lightning wielder. Like, what? I didn't see that coming either. It was so good. I loved it.

SPEAKER_01

She was very emotional after that, of course. Yeah, she was really upset that she killed him, even though he deserved it. He was gonna kill her anyway. So shut up.

SPEAKER_00

Another I love Zaydan point here because Dane was like, you don't have to use your powers if you don't want to. Bro, shut up. And Zaydan was like, shut the fuck up. Yeah. It's like you did great. He deserved to die. He was gonna kill so many more people. Like you saved everybody, and he you saved Liam. Yeah. You know, he literally told her everything to just make her feel so valid, so seen. Love Zaidan. Yes, I love, I love him so much.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. Well, so it's actually funny. So her being a lightning wielder, they end up having sex, and she's like causing all this lightning and thunder. Doesn't know how to control anything. No, it's just setting everything on fire. It was so funny. There were breaking partners, you got shadows here, lightning over there. It was so funny. I've also seen like TikToks and it's like whenever there's a lightning storm, like in real life, it's like we we know that Zayden and Oh, that is that Zaidan pilot are fucking.

SPEAKER_00

I love that. Isn't that funny? I'm gonna remember that now. Literally.

SPEAKER_01

I've always seen it, but I never knew what it meant.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's so cute. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So after that, more training, more war games, more everything like that. Until one point, which is like the last war game, they're having sex, and there's like this pounding at the door, and it's Garrick, which is basically Zaidan's like right-hand man. And he's like, Somebody better be dying. And he's like, I don't know what's going on. Like it's 4 a.m., something's going on. It's like a mayhem. And I was getting really nervous reading it. I'm like, oh my god. And she was like, I have like this pain in my stomach. Like, I feel like this nervous ceiling. I'm like, oh my god, girl, what the fuck is going on? Yep. Turns out it was a fucking war games. Yeah. God damn. I was like, General Melgren or whatever. Fuck that guy. Like, God, we we really taking this a little too far, guys. This got really scary. So annoying. So actually, the squad was going to be sent to an outpost, and Zaydan took Dane and was like, uh-uh, I'm taking Violet with me.

SPEAKER_00

So here is where we start to find out things about Zaydan. These are the secrets that Mira and Dane were trying to warn Violet that he was just not always telling the truth. So they stop on their way to the outpost at this point. Yeah. Right? And Zaydan and Violet take a moment to themselves, and all of a sudden this woman comes up to them and starts talking. And Zaydan's like, what the fuck are you doing here? Like Zaydan acting like she he knows this person already. And I was like, who the fuck is this? Yeah. I was like, is this I was like, is this his mom popping out of somewhere? Who is this? I'm like, this is not good. No, not good. And Violet is scared as fuck because along with these, this woman is two, what are they called? Griffins. Griffins right next to her. So she's ready to fight. She's starting to feel all the tingles. And Zaydan's just like, nope, not doing it. Calm down. And she's like, what? And basically Zaydan starts like, We're not here for the trade yet, and saying all these words. And she's like, wait, you're a fucking traitor. Yeah. All of them. Yeah. She's with all of like the rebellion children. Yeah. And she realizes that they're at the end. She's the only one that isn't. She's the only one that doesn't have a relic. And she's the only one that's actually shocked. Everyone else is like totally fine. So then at this point, she finds out that basically those uh monsters and her folklores and her fables that she was raising as a kid are all real.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And like griffins really aren't the enemy. Those are the enemy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So it's like so good. So then she starts finding out that basically the general and everybody back at Besgaeath know about this. Yeah. And they're just not doing anything to help these poor people at these cities. But the griffins and the flyers are helping these people, trying to help them survive. Yeah. So she's like, no, that literally goes against all that we believe. And Zaydan is like, listen, like, this is what it is. Look at all the facts. And she realizes, and that also really sucks. No.

SPEAKER_01

But I love that she believed him. She had the scribe knowledge. Yeah. Because like it was totally her dad and like her upbringing with him that she was like, wait a minute. Like, I think he's telling the truth. Like everything he's saying is actually true. Yep. But she felt betrayed. She felt betrayed because he didn't tell her the truth. It was, it was lying by omission. Yep. Which is the same thing. Because he's like, I never lied to you. She's like, bitch, you lied by omission. Yep. Valid. Fuck. Valid. So then what happens after that? So after that, they actually get to the outpost, and it turns out the commander, general, leader, whatever the fuck, uh, that was in charge of the war games, which is Dane's dad, fucking loser, Colonel Atos, he's like, All right, guys, I've I've sent everybody away. So you can either try to save these people from these evil ass creatures that are coming to get them, or you can abandon everybody. And they were like, We're not gonna do that. That whole part when everybody was saying that they were gonna fight, I started crying. Of course. That's where I was crying. No, it was beautiful. It was so emotional, and everyone's like, No, we're with you, Zapan. Like, we're we're not gonna fucking die. Our parents died for this cause.

SPEAKER_00

Like, no, I was dying. No, and Liam saying he's like, if my parents died for something like this, I wish to die for something that's honorable too. Yeah, literally.

SPEAKER_01

And then I don't know if it was Bodie or Garrett or somebody who was like, If anything, I'll meet my mom. And I was like, no. Like, I want to see her? No, no, no. I was I'm yeah. And so they fight alongside the griffins. So essentially, the whole folklore that they have is that the riders get their powers from the dragons, the flyers get their power from their griffins, and then the venom they absorb like evil power from earth. The ground from the ground, from earth and everything, and then they give their power to the wyburns, which are they're two-legged, like creepy as fuck. They breathe blue fire or something like that. Weird. Weird. And so their squad um uh fights alongside the griffins and the flyers to take them down. The venom and the wyvern.

SPEAKER_00

The venom and the wyburns, right? That's where we're at.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So it's this whole battle scene. It's insane.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, I have heart palpitations.

SPEAKER_00

No, that audio was really good.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna throw up. It was too much to handle. And it's really sad because we also learned that if a writer dies, the dragon doesn't necessarily die. But if a dragon dies, their writer will die alongside them. Yeah, it's sad as fuck.

SPEAKER_00

It's hard here at this point because Violet still doesn't have all control of her of the lightning yet. Yeah, no, of her sickness. So she is struggling so hard trying to like hit these people and not hit them. And it's just so frustrating for me when I was listening to it. She's like, I can't do anything for for Liam at this point. No, and I was like, God damn it.

SPEAKER_01

Don't tell me he's gonna die.

SPEAKER_00

Literally.

SPEAKER_01

But the wyvern got his dragon, killed him, and then Liam ended up dying too. No, and no.

SPEAKER_00

The friggin' audio when she's like the scream I heard from Zaydan.

SPEAKER_01

No, my heart broke. And like her in tears. No, yeah, I was crying. No, yeah, the audio was so good. I was crying there. So so good. So basically, after Liam dies, she essentially is like fighting one on top of Taryn while he's like flying in the fucking air and shit. And she gets stabbed, but she ends up killing the venom. Venom with the help of the shadows. Yes, it was so good. And then Zaydon ends up killing the other venom, and so it's like they're done with the venom, but she's like free-falling to her death because she got stabbed. Was stabbed with some poisonous thing on the blade. On the blade. That whole part was intense because it's like Indarna, sweet little Indarna, her gift is to stop time, and so she goes and saves her. That part I was like, oh my god, of course Andarna. I loved Indarna. So she's kind of like not hallucinating, but just like in and out of consciousness in in like the audio and stuff. And she's like, I hear Zaiden, and like I hear all the voices, and they're like, Oh, we gotta bring her here, but it's like, I don't know, what is that?

SPEAKER_00

And it was just like she's like in a little bit of coma here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's yeah, she's like getting it. The poison is getting to her, and he's like, No, like we can't, like, it's too far to take her back to Bas Geth. We need to take her. I know where to take her.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm like, oh my god, where's it gonna take her? And then, and then go ahead, Peely. Okay, so then we get do we get his POV? Yeah. Oh my god, that's another thing. So that was another thing that in this book, because Peely's like, yeah, in the beginning, before we started the book, Peely was like, Yeah, I heard Teddy Hamilton is like the voice of Zaiden. And I was like, oh my god, it's so cool. The entire book was not Teddy. It was her the entire book. I'm like, it's not a duet. No, so then I was just listening, all of a sudden I hear Teddy's voice, and I'm like, we get Zaden's P.O.V.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. It was really good. Yeah. I love that. So she's basically in a coma. She hasn't woken up in three days. We get Zaydan's POV, and he's like, she's finally waking up. She's like kind of sort of out of it. She like kind of forgot about everything for a second.

SPEAKER_00

This entire part had me so nervous. I was stressed out. I was so fucking stressed. Why? Because that she was gonna remember stuff? No. Oh, no. Because in her last chapter, right? She was like, I loved him. Like basically, she's like, I know I can't trust him, was her last feelings of the chapter. So then we get to his POV, right? And she wakes up and it's like, oh, stretch, like drinking some water. She's very chill about everything, right? And then he's like, Do you not remember? And then all of a sudden she does, but then she's still fine with him. Like when he went to go shower, I was like, fuck, she's gonna run away. Like I thought something was a habit. Oh, really? Like I was like, yeah, she actually doesn't trust him still. Like she wants to leave.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, no. That's what I was feeling. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't get that. No, no. So I was stressed out. And even when he came back to the room, I was like, like, what is she gonna do? Like she's gonna do, like, she I hope she doesn't betray him. Yeah. So that's what the feelings that I was getting.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, I got like she believed him. I was nervous that she forgot for a second. I was like, oh shit. Like, are we gonna go through like memory loss right now? I don't want that. We don't need that. No. Thank God. So after they shower and everything, he goes back into the room and she he's like, you can ask me anything you want. And so there's like a knock at the door, and he's like, damn, he couldn't even give me like 10 seconds. You better hurry up and ask me your question before he comes in here. And she's like, Do you really think that they meant to land in the outposts so that they were basically on their own? And then all of a sudden we get Brennan and he's back and he's like, Yeah, they sure did, little sister. And I was like, Oh, I couldn't believe it. I was so happy. Shocked. I was like low key kind of shocked, but yeah, but I was just like, Oh my god. Like you thought that was gonna happen. I I wasn't like, I'm like, you never know in these books when somebody dies, like, do they really die? Yeah, especially like uh, but no, I was so happy. Yeah, same.

SPEAKER_00

I loved it. And I was like, Yeah, holy shit. No, so then like he's now leading the rebellion. Yeah. Oh amazing. Against his mother. Against his mother. Yeah. It was so good. So, so good. I loved it all. Loved it. I loved it all. It was so good.

SPEAKER_01

I could not believe Brendan was there. During that part, Myra's like, how well do you know him? Like, she's like just not trusting Zayden, whatever. And he goes, I'm right here. And she's like, Yeah, you're kind of hard to miss. And he's like, You're not listening. I am here. Taryn didn't bra bring her back to Baz Gayath. He didn't break through her shields and pour his emotions into her. He didn't demand she fly across the fucking kingdom. Your sister's still here. I'm the one who left my post, my position, and my executive officer in charge of my wing. She's not missing out on shit. Because that's what Myra was like nervous about. Like she's literally set on her training. Right. That Zaydan would like kind of like overshadow her. And he's like, no. No bitch. No bitch. I love that part. I was like, okay, Zaydan, put her in a fucking place. So we have some book club questions because this is book club. So what was your favorite part of the book?

SPEAKER_00

I think one of my favorite parts of the book, I think I have a couple, but one of my favorite parts is when she bonds with the biggest and baddest dragon and found and finds out she bonds with two. Oh, that was so good. Like, fuck everybody. J'all was on the floor. Like, I don't like who cares if she's a fragile girl. Like, fuck you guys. Yeah, no. And then I also love the part that we were talking about where um Taryn and and Siguel were getting it on and she was feeling it all. I love that. It was so funny.

SPEAKER_01

That was so good. Now, my favorite part was when they were in the fucking battle room with with um Myra. That shit was so funny. Yeah, yeah. When he like talks in her head for the first time and she's just like, What? What? Yeah. It was like, I wish I would have done this before. I know. The look on your face is priceless. It was so funny. I loved it. Yeah, that was good. All right, it says, What was your least favorite? Mine was Liam dying.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, that and Dane being so fucking annoying the entire book. Probably.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but no. Who did you hate more? Dane or Jack Barlow?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, obviously, I don't know. Honestly, Jack, I get it. He was just trying to fucking kill her, but Dane was like one of those evil, sneaky people you don't really catch until the end. He read her memory.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, without her consent. And that's how they knew to like that they were all traitors. Exactly. Oh, fuck Dane. Yeah. So fuck Dane. I'm honestly. Jack was an asshole to your face, literally.

SPEAKER_00

Like, we love an asshole to your face, at least.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we don't love him anyway, but yeah. So I agree.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. All right, what was your least favorite part? Um just Dane in general. Anything with Dane? I think honestly, anything with Dane and in but I do think her finding out that obviously Liam, right? But her finding out that he read her memory. I hated that. Oh, that was the worst. Yeah. I agree. Who was your favorite character? I really liked her. Her. Yeah. I mean, I think we're gonna get more of Zaden in the next book. Maybe hopefully. Hopefully. Um, but I really liked her.

SPEAKER_01

I liked her. I really liked all her friends. They were like such a like a good, nice, like tight squad. I love them. Same. All right. Did you race to the end or was it more of a slow burn? Race. Race. Agreed. What scene has stuck with you the most?

SPEAKER_00

I feel like all of the fighting scenes were really vivid. Really good. Also the the gauntlet. The gauntlet was really good for me too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Or even like, I don't know, like even like when they were walking with the dragons. Like I could totally imagine that. Even when she was protecting um Andarna.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, 100% during the threshing. Exactly. Yeah. All of it.

SPEAKER_01

All of that I'm like so fucking vivid. Alright. Um, what did you think of the writing? Oh, I loved it. Loved it. I loved the writing. Love the writing, loved the narration. Oh.

SPEAKER_00

The narration was so good.

SPEAKER_01

It says, Did you reread any passages? If so, which ones?

SPEAKER_00

I mean the last page where it was like, hello, little sister. I was like, wait a minute, and let me go back up. And I reread that book. Oh, you read it? Yeah. Oh, I listened to it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's so good. You were like, wait, it goddamn man. Um we had to reread because we were confused.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. No. This book I did do like the whole, like, you know, you had to cover it. The entire fucking time. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I was like this. Mm-hmm. The entire time. Mm-hmm. Oh my gosh. It was so good. All right. It says, Would you want to read another book by this author? Yes, I'm reading the next one. 100%. Iron Flame and Onyx Storm. We're doing it coming for you. If you hear this story from another character's POV, who would you choose? I mean, obviously, I think it has to be Zaydan. Agreed. Did reading this book impact your mood? If yes. How so? Just like this the whole time. Like I'm ready for action. I want to vomit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was so nerve-wracking the entire fucking book. So good. That's so funny. What surprised you the most about the book? Brennan being alive was a good one. Yeah, that's a good one.

SPEAKER_00

That and that they the dragons are the ones who pick to bond. I like that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that was good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there's a lot of like holy fucking shit. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

How did your opinion of the book change as you read it? I just kept wanting to read it.

SPEAKER_00

I think I liked the writing more towards the more I read it, the more I liked the writing. I also too confusing for me. But I'd say maybe you understood more as I kept going. Yeah, but I think it's like, you know, since I'm still not a romanticy like professional, so I just have to reread a little more. Yeah. Which is fine.

SPEAKER_01

Love that. Um, how did the book's title work in relationship with the book's content? Well, because they were fourth wing. They were fourth wing. I love that. So good. Is the book overrated or underrated? Perfectly rated. Perfectly rated. It's the highest rated on my fucking good reads. Perfectly rated for me. I couldn't agree more. I loved it. Which location in the book would you most like to visit? I think like the university, like Basque had seen everything, like the courtyard scene everything. The battle brief and all that stuff. Everything that would you consider the setting an important factor of the book? Yes. 100%. Yeah. They were all training to be dragon writers. That was basically the entire point of the story. How did it impact you? Do you think you'll remember it in a few months or years?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Agreed. I loved it. I would reread it. I was about to say that I would definitely reread it also. So good. Yeah. Would you ever consider rereading it? Oh. Yes. Yeah. We got that one. Are there any lingering questions from the book that you're still thinking about? Yeah, what the fuck is gonna happen next?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. What is the reason about them knowing that the venom are real and them not doing anything about it? And them choosing to think that the flyers and the griffins are the bad ones. Like, what is the reason? I don't know. Like Brennan had to know something to hide. That's true. You know what I mean? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just like, what is gonna happen?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, obviously that too.

SPEAKER_01

Cause like now what? Like they go back, but then he's third year. So what he's gonna graduate. But like what are they gonna do with the fucking dragons and shit? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Like I would just love if she stopped training and then just followed him in.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. That's what I obviously thought was. I was like, alright. And then they were like, what are we gonna do? I was like, oh, I thought you were just gonna go. And they're like, no, like she has to finish her training. Which makes sense now, I guess. Makes sense. Not us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Makes sense after I think about it. I guess. Alright, anyways. It says, um, did the books drive you as original? Yes. I guess. Yes. Actually, can I just say something?

SPEAKER_00

I have a lot of things on this one for the good reads.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah? Mm-hmm. Um, I know you never read Divergent. Okay. But it was a little bit giving Divergent. It was the thing about Divergent, it's it's utopian or dystopian. It's like um Do you even know what that means? Yeah, it means everything sucks. No. It's not like a utopia. No, what an imagine state or society where there's great suffering and injustice. Oh my gosh. I didn't fucking know that.

SPEAKER_00

I am intelligent.

SPEAKER_01

You are. Thank you so much.

SPEAKER_00

You always think I'm stupid, but I know things peel.

SPEAKER_01

Rally valid. It's the setting is in Chicago, but it's like 200 years after this insane civil war that happened, and they've broken down society into five factions. So like each one of them has a certain like characteristic to that makes them. And when you're 16, you you go through this test to see which faction you belong in. She goes to Dauntless, which is like the the big badasses, they wear black, they're like security, they're they're like tough motherfuckers. Fucking writers. And she falls in love with her instructor for Satan. Oh, it is giving. It's giving. And I fucking loved fucking Divergent. I was and this was like, I'm here for it. I loved it. I loved all of this. But anyway, it was it was original 100%. But it's it low-key reminded me of foreign and I mean and Tris. It's okay. It's okay. It's so good. And the movie is so good. The movie for Divergent? Oh, yes. Is Theo James? I forget he is my man crush. So this is our book club pick for March. So tell them what our book club pick for April is.

SPEAKER_00

It's going to be Part of Your World by Abbey Jimenez. Oh, I'm so excited to read another Abbey Jimenez book. Same. She really ripped our heart out with the last one, so I'm excited. I'm hoping she doesn't rip our heart out with this one. No, I love it. Let me cry again. Really? Yeah. I loved it.

SPEAKER_01

No, I mean so did I, of course. But I'm like, I I really do like when I'm happy also. Okay, let us laugh. Let us laugh a little bit. Yeah, no. But this is a really I think this this has been our best book club pick. So I'm excited to see how that that one compares. Yeah, hopefully it's another good one.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it has to be, it has to be. Come on, Abby. Don't let us down. Yeah. Okay. Okay, so some of these reviews are pretty funny. This one is a one-star.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And it goes, the sad reality is this book will probably be Goodreads Best Fantasy of 2023, though it has nothing of the fantasy elements. If I wanted to read cheap imitation of every other fantasy book, then this book is it. Every time I have an atom of hope, there's something 0.00001% original. Someone casually points it out that it's not. Then it goes, This book is a memory quilt made from old stuff to look new. It takes everything that we know as familiar, comfort, and nostalgic and weave it together to present it as something new, giving you a fake sense of enjoyment. Are you okay? No, Sue was mad. So mad. What the hell? It's so freaking funny. This is a five-star. It says, if Throne of Glass, Divergent, and Zodiac Academy had a baby, but this is better.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I've never read Throne of Glass. I really want to.

SPEAKER_00

And then it continues to say, you know, when you finish a book and it leaves an ache in your chest because it was so good and now it's over. Yeah, that's exactly how I feel after finishing Fourth Wing. Mm-hmm. Same. It was so good. Same. This is a two-star, and it says, I can't believe I read this. I never in my whole life had any intention of doing so. But then I decided to read Every Good Reads Choice Award winner in all dud lineup, which included the third book in this trilogy. Okay, this is a one-star, right? And it says, say you're in a fantasy setting. What would be your first thought if you saw a dragon three times smaller than the other ones, who can't fly well and had paws instead of claws? That's a baby dragon, am I right? Except no, the book is adamant, it's most definitely not a baby dragon, and screams at you that it's actually a special breed of dragon, and that's just how they are. Oh, okay. At this point, you're willing to go with it. So whatever. Now let's fast forward a couple hundred pages because our main character just learned something very important and so very unexpected. It was a baby dragon.

SPEAKER_01

But like, why do you like why do you hone in on that detail? Who cares?

SPEAKER_00

Not the fucking baby hatchling. It's so funny. So then it continues. Because then it's like, well, that's fourth wing for you. A book that can't foreshadow for shit, but needs to spell everything out for you because its main character can't pick up on anything, apparently.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that was so bad. And then this one's a five star. It's really long. I'm just gonna read the first part. It goes, if y'all see me on the news tomorrow, it's because I broke into this author's house and tried to steal the manuscript for the sequel. Literally. Same. This is a five-star. And it goes, if fourth wing were a drug, I'd be an addict. It grabbed me so thoroughly from the very first moment and refused to let me go. I was fully immersed. I didn't want to sleep, didn't want to eat. I just wanted to inhale as fast as I could. And honestly, isn't this why we read for this exact feeling?

SPEAKER_02

Ugh.

SPEAKER_01

So good. Love that review. I was reading this and listening to it every second I fucking had.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Really? Alright, last one. This is a one star. It goes, did not finish. Yeah. What? Um I'd like to I'd like to know if I'm actually reading the same book as everyone else. This is the worst piece of literature I've read in a long while. I got to chapter eight and couldn't go further.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Girl.

SPEAKER_01

To each their own. To each their own. So I did also want to mention Fourth Wing, they're turning it into a TV show with Amazon MGM Studios, produced by Michael B. Jordan. So I'm really nervous. Yeah. Because I'm like, who are they gonna fucking cast as Zaydan and as her?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I feel like it's so hard for these like romanticy stuff because if Zaydan does not look exactly how I think he looks, like it's like I'm not gonna want to watch it. Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_01

It says Michael B. Jordan has teased that the casting will not be obvious and will feature a mix of new and established talent.

SPEAKER_00

I like that. I like new talent. Yeah, give me the new talent, give me Violet and Zaden as new people we've never fucking seen before. I agree 100%. Like, I don't need the basic ass people that are in It Ends With Us or the people we met on vacation. I don't need those people.

SPEAKER_01

No, give me new give me all new people. I know, but I'm also really nervous. Because I'm like, what is Zaden gonna look like? Yeah. How is it gonna act?

SPEAKER_00

See, that's so hard for me. Because like, say they were gonna make a movie out of Quicksilver. If that person didn't look like the fucking cover of Quicksilver, I wouldn't be able to watch it.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm telling you. The series aims to adapt the five book Empyrean series. I dare there's five books in this. Philly.

SPEAKER_00

You made me start a series that's not finished yet. I thought it was a trilogy. Healy.

SPEAKER_01

I can't believe that. Oh, I can't believe it. I'm so sorry. How exciting. How exciting. Oh gosh, I'm so excited. Oh my gosh, that's gonna be a good one. So come next week, I'm gonna want to kill you. So yeah. Once we finish Lonic Storm, we're gonna want to kill ourselves. Release date. No earlier than 2027 or 2028.

SPEAKER_02

Ugh.

SPEAKER_01

That's a long time from now. I know. But whatever. We're at least gonna get a few of the books.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Amazing. I had a great time reading it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm so excited to read Iron Flame. Same.

SPEAKER_00

I'm assuming Iron Flame is gonna be more his POV. Those are my thoughts. Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't know, because the narrat the little cover on Hoopla says narrated by Rebecca Soler with Teddy Hamilton. And that's the exact same thing except for Fourth Wing. Interesting. They don't say duets. I would have loved if this was a duet. That would have been like my one thing. Yeah? Like her POV, but just a duet, like what so she didn't have to do his voice.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, 100%. Like him, like whenever he talks, he was talking. Yeah. Duet, but her POV. Yeah. Yeah. Gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

But it was good either way. I don't care. Yeah, no, I don't know. She was so good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Great narrator. I love this. I love this. Well, that was it. So we're wrapping it up for this week. Yeah. Read responsibly. Or don't.
