SPEAKER_03

Welcome to Ream Me Next, the Book Club But Make It a Podcast. We have lots of feelings and no qualifications. What are we reading this week, Peely? We are reading off-campus series books one and two by L. Kennedy. Yes. This is so much fun. Oh, so much fun. Loved it. Same.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's just like a good, I feel like these sports romances are like different. I mean, obviously, versus the cowboy romance. But like it gave such a different feel these books than from last week.

SPEAKER_03

I love. Right? No, and I'm like, okay, the dark romance, I get it. I get it. It's great. But these, these types of romances when I can just laugh and love the characters, have fun. I'm like, this is so me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is you. Oh, I loved it. Yeah, this is you. It's fun. It's so fun. I loved it. You know, I've been waiting to tell you this. I think I've read this before. No way. Yep, I think I've read this entire series before. Deadass. Yep, deadass. I'm reading this book, the first one, and I was like, hmm. Really? Something feels familiar. Yeah, but I obviously don't know. Like, I I can't fact check myself because I don't remember anything. So, but I'm like, this is like a little bit interesting. But obviously, you know, I'm having fun because I don't remember anything. No, yeah. So it's great.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no. As long as you don't remember anything, then you're really excited to rewrite it.

SPEAKER_01

Literally, I'm like, all right.

SPEAKER_03

No, nothing. That's so funny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I've been wanting to tell you that because I'm like, ooh, I don't know if I should tell people yet.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe once we're deep into it. Yeah, a real damper in her in her spirits. We already read it. I guess we can fix something else. No, but I'm so bad. No, I really am liking this. Me too, me too, we too. So these are uh interconnected standalones, their hockey romances and their college romances. I was gonna ask you, I feel like I like this type of college romance more than the Legacy of the Gods series.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, a thousand percent.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I get the college aspect in these books.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, same. It really gave college. It gave college. The Legacy of Gods, I tell you, Peely, it gave like wannabe mafia. Like it wasn't anything good. And that's the shit you made me read. But like for real. Like it was like not college y at all.

SPEAKER_03

No, absolutely not.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely not.

SPEAKER_03

No, it was crazy. It was like in a secluded island in the middle of nowhere.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it was either like mafia or the wealthy rich. You know what I mean? It gave no in between, no normal normalcy at all.

SPEAKER_03

No. It's it's really giving the college experience.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, a thousand percent. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So I really enjoyed it. So the first book is The Deal. The deal. Oh, and we didn't say this, but the the TV series on Amazon Prime is coming out next week.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's why we kind of put this series here to read. Oh, so good. You know, I have to say, this one I'm really interested in maybe watching the TV show.

SPEAKER_03

Come on now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I well, okay. I really, really like the first book. So I'm like, that really got me like, oh, maybe I'll actually watch something.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no. And the series, the season one is Garrett and Hannah. Cool. Yeah. So it's based off the deal, which is the first book in the series. Love that.

SPEAKER_01

Love that, love that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Okay. So, like we said, the first book is The Deal, follows Garrett Graham. He's the captain of the hockey team at the university. What was it? The big man on campus. The big man on campus. Sure, sure is. And then Hannah Wells, and she's like this cutie patootie, like so smart, uh music major. Chill, shy. Chill, shy. The banter. Yeah. She's funny. She's funny as heck. And so they basically have this class together where everybody's failing but her.

SPEAKER_01

They like bump into each other and her papers fall everywhere. And of course he's a gentleman of some sorts. And picks up the papers and notices that she got an A.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. On their like midterm. And he's like, okay, well, you need to help me.

SPEAKER_01

You need to tutor me. Or else he's not gonna be able to play hockey anymore.

SPEAKER_03

And so she's like, absolutely not. She at this point likes another boy in the class. Classic. Yes. And so classic, they're like, okay, let's fake date to get the guy jealous. And you tutor me so I could pass the class. Deal. And so that's their deal. That's the deal. And that's how the book starts.

SPEAKER_01

Love. This is so good. I loved this. So did I. So it was, like you said, sports romance, college romance, fake dating.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Right? And that's set with those. These were not on Hoopla. And they're actually not on Kindle Unlimited anymore. Freaking Kindle. Yes. I was too late to get this on Kindle Unlimited, but she did. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And I was like, goddamn. No, we we were there for like 10 minutes trying to figure out like why is it not showing up on your Kindle? Yeah. We don't understand. And then come to realize Amazon took it off. Yeah. You wanna put you wanna read it? You gotta pay for it now. Gotta fucking pay for it. Watch the show. Watch the show. But I know a lot of people on TikTok were mad that they took them off.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like in that matter, Amazon kind of like fucked themselves because people want to read the book to watch the show. I know it's giving like Bitcorp. Like Amazon, please, please. Like you're gonna lose what?

SPEAKER_03

But supposedly they also did that with Heated Rivalry. They took it off in Unlimited. Which is true because it wasn't on there when we read it.

SPEAKER_00

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Isn't it crazy? Damn. Frickin' Jeff Bezos. You son of a swindling us. But we read them anyway. So you got us there.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Anyways, yeah. What did you rate it? I rated to five. Yeah, me too. Yeah. No, I loved this. Are we the Ryan's? Yeah. Not at all. No. What about your spice meter? I would say like three and a half, four. Okay, same. I liked it. Yeah. It was good. It was nice. It wasn't it was like a good change of pace to not read so graphic spiciness. Spicy scenes. Yeah. Um, which was good. I like that. Yeah, no, it w I loved it. So book two is The Mistake. The Mistake follows John Logan, who is also big super hockey star, which is Garrett Graham's best friend. And it also follows Grace Hivers. So basically the premise is I can go dee I don't know how far I should go, but so John Logan thinks he really likes Hannah, which is Garrett's girlfriend. And then he somehow meets Grace and then it goes from there.

SPEAKER_03

So he meets Grace, like you said. She's a freshman, and he's they're all they're all juniors, and she's also a virgin. Yep. And so they start kind of talking, they become a little bit of friends until she's like, okay, DTF. And he's like, wait, no, I'm actually hung up on somebody else. And she was just like not having it. She cut his ass off.

SPEAKER_01

Fucking guy. And then that's how that book starts. See, this is why I'm excited too to talk about this book because what else is there? Don't don't even be a hater.

SPEAKER_03

Don't be a fucking hater, Karina.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so what are we gonna do? What else are we gonna say? No, that's fine. Okay, cool. Okay, so what'd you rate this book?

SPEAKER_03

I rated it like a four, four and a half.

SPEAKER_01

No, I think I'm doing three and a half, four. You really didn't like this? Maybe a three and a half. I mean, I liked it. I enjoyed it. It's good. Alright. Yeah. Spice a meter? Same, three and a half, four. Yeah, same. Okay. Yeah. Did this one have like a third trope in it? Like the other one did?

SPEAKER_03

The virgin trope.

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't think so. I'm not gonna lie, that's probably a trope. It is probably. I don't know. Anyways, okay. It's an age cap.

SPEAKER_00

I thought of that earlier today. Oh my god. Who's gonna say that? Peely with her freaking age. I'm like, even if it's a two-year age cap, I'm taking it.

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm kidding. That's crazy. Um, what I was gonna ask you before we get into it, spoilers, spoilers, spoilers. Who's your book boyfriend of the week?

SPEAKER_01

Garrett.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, fucking course. Like, me too, me too. A thousand percent. I wouldn't it wouldn't even be a question if I had John and Garrett standing right in front of me. Okay, don't be so fucking traumatic. Because John Logan, he redeemed himself at the end of that book. I mean, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. I'm not a I'm not a Logan hater. Don't be a fucking hater now.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not a hater, but No, no, but Garrett was like top dog.

SPEAKER_01

He's real just better.

SPEAKER_03

No, I love Big Man on Campus. Do you know what I mean? He was giving Big Man on Campus. You're right, you're right, you're right. I'm not gonna lie to you though, I'm intrigued to know about the other men in the series and how they're gonna compare.

SPEAKER_02

Compare to Garrett.

SPEAKER_03

I know a lot of other people on TikTok, the girlies, they they have their man.

SPEAKER_01

So I know I don't I don't know for sure, right? I know you do. The next book is Dean. Mm-hmm. You don't know whether No, I don't know my person, the next I don't know the woman, but I have an assumption.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, well, don't don't ask me.

SPEAKER_01

Don't assume?

SPEAKER_03

No, don't ask me because I'm gonna tell you. You can tell me. You can tell me. I'm not gonna lie to you. I had that book spoiled. I knew who it was because I saw it on TikTok before I've read it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm pretty sure I know who it is because it kinda you know, the book kind of gives up. It gives you a teaser. So the book dropped a little teaser for me. It's Allie, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Because at the end of the book, there was like her her and Sean were were arguing. Yeah. Yeah. So I was like, Allie is it. Allie is it. And then I didn't know the next one was gonna be about Dean until I got to the end of this book. Really? Yeah, because it said at the end for Dean's book.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, I knew I figured he was gonna be. But what I don't know is who book five is. Tucker? No, book four is Tucker. So who the fuck is book five? Hunter. Hunter? I don't know. That was my book. That was my wild guess. All right. I mean, I guess we'll see next week when we do the three books. Cool.

SPEAKER_01

So I really, really, really liked book one. Like I loved it. So good. It was so funny. The idea made sense, and it was such a good college idea. It was in line with the plot, in line with the setting, like all of it. Yeah. It made sense.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I love that. And I really, I loved the chemistry between the two of them.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Immediately.

SPEAKER_03

So cute.

SPEAKER_01

I love how she like did not give a fuck that it was Garrett. No. Mm-mm. She hated the guy. No, and the way he was so like charismatic. He was so fucking charismatic the entire time. Garrett. He was making me giddy as fuck. Suave. He really liked him.

SPEAKER_03

No, I loved Garrett.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I really I don't know who was gonna top him. Yeah. Anyway, so essentially what happens is at the beginning, Hannah describes that when she was in high school, she got assaulted. And so she doesn't drink at parties, she doesn't really go out. She's a little like apprehensive of like doing whole college experience until Allie is like, all right, we're going to a party. And that's where she sees uh Justin. Yep. She's like totally crushing on him. And that's where Garrett sees her crushing on Justin, and he's like, Oh, I know how to get her. Yep. Yep. He was like, I'm about to reel this girl in. Yeah. He's like, you tutor me, and I'll get you the guy.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I love a heat falls first. Wow. He was so that. No, and I really like that how like they became really good friends at the beginning. Like he knew her. There was like one point in the book, or like both of them, where like he was stuck with the girl and he asked the girl, like, what's my favorite color? And she's like, It's black. Move on. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know? And he's like, How'd you know that? And she's like, Because you all you do is wear black. I feel like me in my pink tomato. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Literally opposite of black right now. Thank you.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you. Um their banter? Their banter was so good. So funny. They were hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

And I didn't really find anything like wrong with the book, which I really liked. Like there was no, there wasn't really like a character flaw or anything for me.

SPEAKER_03

What did you think about the third act breakup? The third act breakup. So in the book, we also find out that Garrett's dad is abusive. And so Garrett's dad basically he has it in his mind that like the only thing Garrett needs to focus on is hockey and this and that. I remember. And they lose a couple games and he's like kind of threatens Hannah. And he's like, stay away from my son and break up with him. Philip. Freaking Philip. And she does.

SPEAKER_01

See, like this one was okay. I feel like this third act breakup, I was like, she has very valid points. And because like I was reading the book and it was so funny because it was like the book was saying, and he thought about my next thought. And I was like, okay, there's my next thought. He thought about my next thought. You know what I mean? So it was like very in line with the real person thinking. It made sense to me on why she didn't tell him. Like, you should have told him. You know what I mean? But like I get it.

SPEAKER_03

I completely agree with your train of thought of like they acted like how people would really act. Literally. I really liked the third act. I didn't like the third act breakdown, but I really liked how he reacted to it. So he was like, he got drunk this one night, and like he was throwing himself a pity party and this and that. And then the next day he goes up there and he's like, I don't believe you. He knew. Because she's like, Oh, her excuse was I want to see other people. And he's like, bullshit. Bullfucking. You love me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I love how he would he would see her and be like, So how many? How many, how many people? How many what? How many dates have you been on? Hannah? How many people have you hooked up with since you wanted this break? Literally. And he's like, hmm. Interesting. Come to find out, nobody was gonna fucking even touch her. Literally. Oh, that was so good too. Oh my god. But Justin would have. Yeah, Justin was kind of giving sleeve ball. Yeah. He still he still gave sleazy at the end. I mean, he wasn't mean or anything. He knew that she was still all over Garrett, but would have said yes still.

SPEAKER_03

I agree. Like, especially because I I think like there's something about a man who just clocks another man and his intentions and how they're like sinister. You know what I'm saying? And I'm just like, I believe Garrett 100%. This guy's a weasel. Justin is a weasel. Don't comfort Hannah, alright? So, like, that's my point of view. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Like, not to say poor sweet little Hannah, you know, is naive or whatever. Yeah. But I believe Garrett. And something is happening with Justin. Yeah, because men know men.

SPEAKER_01

Men know men. Men know men. Women know women. Men know men. Amen. That's it.

SPEAKER_03

And that's and the podcast. And that's it. And that's her wisdom for.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. Should we go over our annotations and see what comes up?

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, I like that. Oh my gosh. So this is like when he's trying to convince her at the beginning, you know, to tutor him. So he's like, How about a date? And she goes, What? And he's like, Oh, I got your attention now. And she's like, No, you got my disgust. Do you actually think I want to go out with you? Which was so funny. Like, she could not stand him. And he's like, Everybody wants to go out with me. And so then she says, just out of curiosity, after you wake up in the morning, do you admire yourself in the mirror for one hour or two? And he says, Two. And she's like, Do you high-five yourself? And he's like, Of course not. I kiss each of my biceps and then point to the ceiling and thank the big man upstairs for creating such a perfect meal specimen.

SPEAKER_01

I think it was just portrayed so well how he was like cocky, but he wasn't a dick. Like all of this, like he wasn't being a dick. He was just like joking around. I love how it was the confident. Yeah. I love how it was portrayed. Yeah, no, they were so funny. This is still in the beginning where he found out that she likes Justin. And he's like, he's slimy or whatever. And they're talking about like relationships and stuff. And she asks him, like, don't you want that? Don't you want a relationship? And he goes, eventually, but not right now. I flash a cocky grin. If I ever feel the need to talk to someone, I've got you. And then she goes, So your airheads get the sex, and I'm the one who has to listen to you babble. She shakes her head. I feel like I'm getting the short end of that deal.

SPEAKER_03

Literally, they were so funny. She was hilarious. The like answer between them, I was like, I wish I was this quick. Like they were so funny. Same. Loved.

SPEAKER_01

Like literally right after that, he's like, Oh, you want the sex too? Wellsy, I'm happy to give it to you. So fucking funny. So funny. Oh my god, no. And not even just them two were funny. Everybody in this book. Like Tucker, Dean, everybody was funny. I guess he's at the table and you can tell that he's mulling over something in his head, and it was about the homework, right? And he's talking to, I don't know, it was Logan and Dean. And then he goes, Okay, I'll bite, he says as he heads to the fridge. What's the question? He goes, All right, so you're a Nazi. Fuck that. He interjects. That was so funny. Like when I was reading it, I was like, that is hilarious. Yeah, literally. You know what I mean? I love that. He's like, God damn it.

SPEAKER_03

Like, please help me. Help, help, please. I don't know what part, like where in the book it is, but there is like how he said that Hannah was assaulted and she doesn't really go out and stuff. He got her to go out to the bar, and he's like, he's like, I want you to have a drink. And that whole night made me so nervous. I was shitting brains. Yeah. Because I'm like, what is gonna happen? I'm like, is he is something gonna happen? And he's not gonna be around. He's not gonna save her like he said he would. No, I hated that. I hated it. It was really making me nervous. Yeah. And then she got drunk as fuck because she saw her ex and I was like, oh my God, I hate this. I hate this. I hate this.

SPEAKER_01

Literally, I hated it so much, but then I was like, it's so nice that she can get drunk, and like it's so nice that she trusts him like that and this and that. And I was like, but what's gonna happen?

SPEAKER_03

I know. I was really nervous that something would happen. Yeah. And so she like does her karaoke and he's like, all right, like we're calling it a night. And then when they get back home, that's when she like comes on to him and he's like, No, you don't want to do this. Love king. No, I love that. This is right after that bar scene. And so when they wake up, she goes, Don't you dare tell anybody about this? And he's like, Why not? It'll boost her street grin. And she's like, I don't want to be another one of your puck bunnies. And he goes, Her use of the term makes me grin harder. I like that she's picking up on the hockey lingo. Maybe one of these days I'll even convince her to come to the game. I have a feeling Hannah would be a great heckler, which is always an advantage at home games. And then he goes, Though knowing her, she'd probably heckle us and give the other team the that made me laugh because I'm like, that is very something like that she would do.

SPEAKER_01

She would do. Oh my god, no. So then they finally have sex, right? Or she he no, that whole thing also was super sweet because he didn't want to have sex at first. He was like, We gotta take this slow. Baby steps, baby steps. And she's like, Oh, my therapist used to say that. Girl. She's like begging him to have sex, and he was like, Nope, sorry, I'm gonna make you come first. And I was like, Okay, Garrett. She went to his house for the first time to tutor him. And I think it was Dean who opened the door and was like, Did somebody get me a stripper? Fucking Dean. She's like, Just in her fucking uniform. Oh my god. Dean, I just like love that man. It's so funny. So then there was another part, it just ties into this. They're talking about Halloween, and Hannah had no idea what she was gonna be. And then Dean is like, My costume suggestion for you, Dean chimes in. Sexy nurse. Actually, fuck that. We live in the modern world. Sexy doctor. Ooh, or sexy navy pilot. Just anything with sexy. He was so funny. So it's so funny.

SPEAKER_03

So on Halloween, Garrett was like not feeling it, and he doesn't like Halloween, and then she goes to his house like to keep him company, and they end up kind of like telling each other deep stuff. And I really like how they were like so honest the entire time. They were very good at communicators. Very, very good. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I like how he because he mentioned that in there in that part, how she said something to him, like the her whole you know, story with the assault. And he was like, Well, she just told me something. Let me tell her something now. Yeah. That was so very mature of him. Super cute. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I like I like when they're direct and they tell each other the secret. Super, super super cute. Super, super. Okay, so she she walks into the room, right? And so she's like, Thanks to the jittery state I've been in all day, I forgot to bring a change of clothes because she was in her like work outfit. And then she's like, then again, we probably won't be wearing clothes for much longer. And so she's like, hey, I gulp. So funny. So how do you want to do this? Should I take my clothes off? Don't you dare ask me to strip tease because I'm nervous enough as it is, and there's no way I can dance with you, even remotely sexy right now. And he starts laughing. He's like, You have no idea how to set the mood, do you? See, that is just so good. She's like, I know, I'm just nervous. Can we just start? You're standing there and looking at me, and it's freaking me out. He's like, first, relax. There's nothing to be nervous about. Second, I don't expect or particularly want a strip tease. He's like, at least not tonight. And third, we're not starting anything right now. And so that's when they started watching the show.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Oh, so so.

SPEAKER_03

And he was like making her comfortable and stuff. So cute.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he was that guy. I loved him.

SPEAKER_03

He's that guy for real.

SPEAKER_01

See, like, this little ass shit is what like could crack me up. He told her, like, I thought you're in the beginning of the book, he thought her name was like something with an M. So it goes here. When he speaks, it's so nonsensical. I'm generally caught off guard. I thought your name started with an M. You thought my name was Mana? He's like, No.

SPEAKER_03

That shit cracked me up. Which I'm not gonna lie, at the beginning of the book, when he's kept saying like an M name and an M name, I'm like, okay, is Hannah Narrow FMC? Yeah. I was like, what's going on? And it was not, no, he was totally wrong. It was Mana. It was Manna. Oh my gosh, no. So this is like when they're gonna have sex, right? This is so funny. So she goes, the second I encounter his erection, my jaw drops. Oh my god, are you kidding me? And he's like, What's wrong? She goes, Are you taking human growth hormones or something? I snatch my hand back, fighting another rush of nervousness. There's no way that huge monster is fitting inside of me. And then he just starts laughing. And he's like, man monster. She's just like, stop laughing at me. I might have big boobs and a grabbable ass, but have you seen my hips tiny and narrow? Which stands to reason that my lady canal, and he was like, Lady canal? She really did not set the mood. No. She was hilarious. So funny. The the way that she would speak was killing me.

SPEAKER_01

She would literally just say anything that like came to her head, which is so funny. So this is where they I guess he finally realizes that he wants her as his girlfriend. And he found out that she said yes to a date with Justin. At first, when because it was Logan who told him that, right? And at first I was like, Logan, what are you gonna say? Because you know, we already got the feels of that situation. So I was scared for that. But then he said that, and I was like, oh fuck, she did. Damn. So then he went right away, confronted her, which I was like, King, love, love that shit. Communication. And I guess she was just talking and she hadn't decided if you were if she was going. And I was like, oh my god, this is this is like very intense right now. And he's like, You're not fucking going, Hannah. And I was like, So then obviously a lot of things happened. What I really liked there is that when he walked out and he was pissed, that she went right after him. Love.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, no, lady, I love like nothing was like left in the air. No, literally. You know what I mean? No, everything was said and done in the moment. Love. So he found out he went right up to her.

SPEAKER_01

He went right up to her. No, and so that's she went right up to him.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. He went up to her, and then she went up to him. Love. And so literally that part goes, I know you're into me, Walcy, and I'm definitely into you. Would it really be so bad if we made this thing official? And I was like, Oh, love. It's so cute. And she's like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Literally, I'm like, what are you doing, girl? Say yes. Say yes. Say yes. Now can we please go inside? I'm freezing my butt off and I need my fluffer to warm me up. Uh and he's like, Excuse me. Yeah. It's so funny. No, but I

SPEAKER_03

Loved it because it wasn't like this theatrical, like big thing. Like, no, he was mad in the moment, he left, she went after him. They had their discussion, and they're like, All right, fine, let's do it. Exactly. But it wasn't like this big dramatic thing. Oh my god. Tell me. So the part where she goes to his game and Rob is there, Rob being the friend of the guy that assaulted her in high school and testified against her. Mm-hmm. That part, I was itching. I was like, oh my god, this is what's gonna happen. This is making me nervous. I could feel Garrett's hate. Same. And I was like, so into it. Yeah, yeah. No, she wrote so well, Miss Kennedy. So well. Yeah. He goes, What's going on? Who's that guy? And she says, nobody. He's like, Hannah.

SPEAKER_02

Ugh.

SPEAKER_01

I love when they get a little like tough. Hannah?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, tell me right now. And so she's like, it's nobody, Garrett, please. He's just the guy. What guy? What's his name? And so she's like, Rob. Rob Delaney. And he knew. And he's like, Who is he, Hannah? And so she's like, it's Aaron's friend. He's the one of the guys who testified against me after that. Garrett is already stalking away. I was like, God damn. No. And so he punched Rob. But well, Rob was being such a fucking dick. Yeah, he was being an asshole as well. He called her a whore or something.

SPEAKER_01

And so he fucking a slut. And so he punched his ass. Yeah. I mean, like, bro. You already lied and you're gonna call her a slut continuously. Like fucking loser.

SPEAKER_03

My guy. Literally, loser. But I just I eat it up when there's like a moment of protecting your girl. Yep. Love. That protectiveness, that possessiveness. We love it. We love it around here. And so this is just like the last part. It's after they like kind of start like got back together. He basically tells her about the inheritance that her his grandparents left her, and she's like, Really? And he's like, really? So she's like, sweet baby Jesus. Is he telling me I broke up with him for no reason? Yes. That's girly.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, I bet you felt stupid, huh? Literally. No, but like that's like another clear example about he was he was so chill. So chill.

SPEAKER_03

Like it wasn't this big thing, you know? Like he was like, Alright, we made a mistake. We made a mistake. He feels stupid. We move on. We're back together. Love.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, but no, I really loved this book. It was so good. Yeah, it was so good. No, at the end, in the epilogue, it was like Dean had somehow gotten his hands on an old school boom box and he had it propped up on his shoulder. I was like, oh my god, we're giving Rio from Windy City. So cute. So freaking cute. This is the last thing I will say that was so freaking funny. Is his P.O.V. And it goes, I grin at her enthusiasm. Did you like the little gun figure I flashed you after that goal? Offer you, baby. And she grins back. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you were actually pointing at the old guy if you see it so bird. It was so funny. But then it keeps going. He's totally freaked out and started shouting to everyone that you scored that goal for him. And then I heard him ask his wife if maybe you knew that he was just diagnosed with diabetes. So I didn't have the heart to tell him that goal was really for me.

SPEAKER_03

Literally. It's like, just let the poor man be happy. Oh my gosh, that was funny. So funny. Love that. Alright.

SPEAKER_01

I really enjoyed it. Yeah, this one was so good. Yeah. So we're gonna move on into the mistake. The mistake. The mistake.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I'm intrigued to know why you didn't like it as much. Okay, so let me just open it up. Okay, yeah, but and we also kind of have to talk about what happens. Which you said, nothing happens, but I think some things happen. Alright, let's hear about it. Okay, so like we mentioned before, it's Grace and it's Logan. So Logan stumbles upon her dorm because he's like so hung up on Hannah and he's like, you know what, I need to go party. Did I get out of here? Yeah, he thinks there's a party at her dorm. Turns out there's no party. But she invites him in anyway. They watch a movie, they kind of fool around. This part made me laugh because he's like, he's like, Did you finish? I have this annotated. Literally. He's like, Did you finish? And she's like, uh, yeah. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. And he leaves, right? So I was like, at the beginning, I'm like, bro, he's such a fucking loser.

SPEAKER_01

Such a loser.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, not only you hung up on Hannah, but then she doesn't even finish. I'm like, Logan is giving loser. I'm like, come on now. Don't give us an MMC that's a loser. They become friends and they start talking, they start hanging out until, like we said, she's finally ready to have sex, and then he kind of just steps back and he's like, no, like I'm I like somebody else. And she's like, what the fuck? Yeah. And so she's like, get out.

SPEAKER_01

Now she's like naked on the bed. Literally.

SPEAKER_03

Like you couldn't have picked a better fucking moment to say this. Bro. Literally. And so she she kicks him out.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

As she should. As she should, but like you don't think she overreacted. No? No? No. Throughout the entire summer, you don't think she overreacted? No. Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no. Because like, I don't know. You're naked. You're ready. You're in a vulnerable position. You're ready to have sex and you've never done that before. And you're here thinking like you're having a great time because the guy is showing all the good signs that he's having a great time, also. And then literally all of a sudden, he's like hand in his hair, getting it all messed up, and he's like, I can't, because you know, like, I just like I'm still like distracted by someone else. It's like you use me as a distraction? Get the fuck out of here. Uh-uh. I don't know. I think and then on top of that, then to find out he sent you a screenshot of what your best friend did. You don't think you should have told her that? No, I know. That's what I'm saying, though. He and then on top of that, he sends her a screenshot of what she did. So she's pissed up the fucking world. Oh, yeah, yeah. Like, I don't think it was a uh what's the word? Overreaction. Overreaction at all.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like once she forgave Ramona, I'm like, okay, you need to forgive him now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I'm like, what? Well, she didn't I didn't like Ramona at all.

SPEAKER_01

That was like a big problem for me in this book. Yeah. I will say, yeah, Ramona was like really not it. No, I didn't like her. Like from the beginning of the book, she was giving that she didn't like her either. Two-faced bitch. Like, no, yeah, and she didn't even like her. No, not even not even that Ramona didn't like her, but she didn't like Ramona.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, that Grace didn't like Ramona. Yeah, she's like, we're really feeling her in college. So are we still friends with her? What the fuck are we doing? So I didn't really like that throughout the entire book. No, but Ramona sends Logan a text saying, like, hey, if she can't do it for you, I got you. Winky face, uh, ew. No. Bitch.

SPEAKER_01

What a fucking bitch. And I don't like that she ended up showing back up in the book. Like, I didn't like that at all.

SPEAKER_03

No. Like, why do we forgive her?

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, it does kind of give college. It does kinda see, like, this this book gave college. The entire fucking book. Like it was like one thing after the other after the other. College.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So But so anyway, so Grace goes for to Paris for the summer. She spends it with her mom. He's texting her nonstop, and she's like, not having it. She doesn't respond to him at all until next semester comes around. She's a sophomore. So sorry.

SPEAKER_01

When her mom was telling her like to forgive Ramona, I was kind of annoyed. So annoyed. I was like, Mom, come on now. Like, be for fucking real. Like, I understand if you want to like for me, it would have made more sense to forgive him than to forgive her. Right. Because at like at the end of the day, you just met him. You just fucking met him. And if he's a fucking douchebag, he's a douchebag. It's your choice whether to forgive him or not. Like he, you know what I mean? Yeah. And then he found out that she's actually known Ramona her entire life. And he's like, Oh, I thought you just knew her these two years you've been here. No. That made it like ten times worse that she's known her her entire life. Yeah. And her mom was like, Oh, you should answer her. No.

SPEAKER_03

No. I don't know. But I feel like we have a lot of hatred towards Ramona because we we don't know their backstory. Because she would try to like stand up for her and say, like, oh, you know, back when we were kids, like she would help me. If there was a bully, she would stand up for me. This, that, whatever. I don't agree with it. I didn't like Ramona either. But I'm just saying. I think that was the mom's POV.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, no. I agree. No, I can't. Fuck Ramona.

SPEAKER_01

No. No. Like if I if if I if I texted your man's that, I would just Yeah, sorry.

SPEAKER_03

People. Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_01

Tell me. Tell me, would you forgive me two hours later? No.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. I just can't. Yeah, no. That like it's weasely. I don't like that. Anyways, it's a weasel move.

SPEAKER_01

So that really pissed me off this entire book.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. So it turned me off a lot. No, and Ramona had a big thing. She had a big part in at the end, too.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. And she was still like stupid fucking Ramona. Everything that went wrong was like had a Ramona, pretty much.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Anyways. Anyways, so she comes back from Paris and he's like still trying to pursue her. And she's like, fine, I'll forgive you and go on a date with you if you do like this laundry list of like grand gestures to me. And so he ends up doing it, which I thought that was cute. Like, I mean, at least make him work for him. And he was totally into it. Oh my gosh. No, this part I I know we're Ramona haters, but this part cracked me the fuck up. We are oh, Ramona haters? Ramona haters. So it's um it's Grace's P.O.B. She's talking to Ramona and she goes, John Logan came over last night. And so Ramona goes, John Logan came over last night. And she goes, Yes. He came to our dorm. Yes. You were in this room and he walked in, and then both of you were here in this room. Yes. So John Longa showed up at our door and walked inside and was here with you here. She's like, Yes, Ramona, we've established he was here in this room. And so he goes, Oh my god, tell me everything. That part was funny. This was before we hated Ramona.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is before we hated Ramona, and that was a very college girl thing to do.

SPEAKER_03

No, and it cracked me the fuck up. I'm like, that's some dumb fucking conversation I would have my friends.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so I found a part here, and then I put me this is me and Peely, right? Oh my god, I love. So it was because she had a she got a job at the freaking radio doing like the the producing or whatever, and she's like, I shift my gaze back to the main booth and force myself to concentrate on the radio show. For the next 35 minutes, I fight hard not to laugh as I listen to quite possibly the two dumbest people on the planet give advice. Seriously, if they're combined, IQ is in the double digits, I'll eat my hat.

SPEAKER_03

Literally us.

SPEAKER_01

Meme Billy, welcome to the podcast. To anybody who listens on 100%.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

I can like so imagine with the headphones on and the mic and it's just two people bullshitting because they're funny.

SPEAKER_03

I like them. Their segment was hilarious. Their advice segment. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it's like you can tell they're trying to be like dickheads, you know what I mean? That made it even funnier.

SPEAKER_03

No, and so in that part, she meets Morris, who is like the another guy who works at the radio station, and they go to a party to which Logan is there and he sees her. He finds out that she's on a date. And he's like, Can't have it happen. And so they make out. Yep. And then it's so funny because he goes up to Morris the next day and he's like, Listen, I just want to come here. You can punch me in the face because I did make out with your date, but also like I'm not backing down. Yep. And then they become like, but bro, it's like bro.

SPEAKER_01

And then because he's like, is that what every game is on the TV? Mob games or whatever. How do you know that? Instant friendship. Also that they call her Gretsch, Gretchen at the friggin' booth. This is Morris talking. Seriously, Gretsch. I love him. I have a boner for him, Morris size. If I'd known he'd existed, I wouldn't have asked you out in the first place. Gee, thanks. She goes, Oh, shut up. You're welcome. And I tap that in a second, but I can't compete with this guy. He's operating on a whole other level when it comes to you. Literally. Morris is so cute. So funny. I loved this part with the whole Morris thing still at the party. When he came to find her after they had just finished making out and asking if she found the bathroom, and she goes, No, I found it. I answer. I ran into a friend on my way out. And he goes, Logan's nostrils flare. I'm like, oh my god. A friend. Literally love that shit. Because I was as soon as she said friend, I know he was like pissed. Hissed. Love. So then Logan has this whole thing, right? In this case. Yeah, we didn't even go. We didn't even go into Logan. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So he has things happen in this book. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He has this whole thing that his father is an alcoholic.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Right. So his whole life is put on hold, right? Because he didn't enter the draft for the NHL. The pros, yeah. Yeah, for the pros. He has to go back and take care of his dad and take care of his home and everything because Jeff, his older brother, has been doing it for the past four years. That was the deal that they had. As soon as he finishes college, he's going back to take care of everything. And that really fucking sucks. Like I was so sad for him throughout this entire time.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_01

How are we gonna fix this? And nobody knew. He was like living with this dark secret inside that he never even entered the draft, and his whole life is gonna be thrown away. The only person that knew was the coach. Yeah. And then he finally told Garrett, and it was like No, it was so sad. And it just sucks because like he doesn't like telling people because he knows they'll be upset at his dad. And at the end of the day, he's like, That's my dad. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Grace was so mad at him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I can't. That was a really tough situation. So tough.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. No, every time we would go back to Munzen, I was like, Ugh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. What did you think about Jeff? Like, would you agree with Jeff? It's hard. I know, it's hard.

SPEAKER_03

It's not I don't feel like it's not something you can because I feel like as an older sibling, like, you just gotta power through and like you know, you want your younger sibling to succeed and like go pro, but also like he was dealing with that every single day for years and years and years. Like, he's gonna grow tired of it at some point. Yeah. And he would have deserved to go with his girlfriend out and stuff.

SPEAKER_01

He does. He does deserve.

SPEAKER_03

But it it sucked.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I got no. This is after that Morris part. And they're at a party, and this is like, I guess, the first time or one of the first times they go together, and she realizes how many girls still go up to him, and she starts getting jealous. She's like, I gotta go to the bathroom. And sh here I highlighted, it was like Logan blinks at my sharp tone. Ah, all right. Use the upstairs one. It's usually less crowded. The fact that he doesn't ask me if I'm okay or offer to walk me upstairs is a tad grating. Gritting my teeth, I stalk out of the living room. I was like, okay, see, this is one of the points where I'm like, Logan, Johnny. He came right after her. He did come right after, but like that would like leave a bad taste in my mouth. No, but he totally clogged it.

SPEAKER_03

And he was like, Grace, what is literally go to the next fucking page. I know he did. Uh Grace waits. Literally. Just give him a fucking second. He's like, why are you mad? And she's like, he's like, oh, you're just jealous. Literally, though, but then like, I don't know. Come on now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. It's just me being a little bitch.

SPEAKER_03

A hater. Yeah. A Logan hater. Anyways. So this is the part where they actually go on a date. And so he's like, So how did I do? She goes, um, you want a detailed performance review of our date? And he goes, kind of. I haven't been on a date in fuck ages since freshman year, I think. And so she goes, Okay, well, your choice of restaurant, perfect ten. Chivalry, you opened my car door, so that's a 10-2. Conversational prowess, nine. And he's like, nine. And she goes, I'm taking a point off for the hockey talk. That was rather dreary, which it's funny. So funny she did not like hockey. She was a football fan. And so she he goes, You've gone too far, woman. And then she goes, affection levels 10. You had your arm around me and you held my hand, which was sweet. Oh, and the last one, good night kiss, yet to be rated, but you should know you're starting at minus one because you requested a performance review instead of making your move. And so he's like, Seriously, I'm being penalized for being a gentleman. She goes, minus two now. You're opening it's getting narrow and narrower, Johnny. So you won't, and then you kiss her, which was so funny. I'm like, the fucking performance review?

SPEAKER_01

I like how she would call him Johnny. Love. Yeah, that's cute. Um, okay, so what do you think about the end? He's obviously having a shit fucking time when he has to go clean up after his dad, and he's like going into this spiral about how he sees his future, how Grace might break up with him because there's gonna be countless times where he has to leave and he has to go do this and that for his dad or whatever. And he comes home and he's all upset about it, and she goes to talk to him, and he's like, Yeah, and you're probably gonna leave me this and that, and she fucking leaves and she gets pissed. What do you think about that? I was like, not sure about this. No, I thought it was valid. You you know what, John, screw you?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. You think that was valid? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Because he didn't believe in her, in her love for him. What the hell? I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Like, that's where I'm like, I feel where she would think that.

SPEAKER_03

You that you don't like the crybaby w-ma-boo-boos, and now you're you're taking his side.

SPEAKER_01

You're right. I don't like a win-white crybaby. He was having a pity party. But okay, but this is not a pity. I feel like it's not a valid thing to say pity party, because this is his life.

SPEAKER_03

He's gonna miss pro hockey. He was very valid in all his points of not having a future, of having to take everything out, of being stuck in this fucking shit place for years and years and years. Shithole. But don't come at her saying, Oh, and you're gonna leave me. No, fuck you. You don't know what I'm gonna do. Yeah. Screw you. Screw you, bitch. Ugh. Which is so funny. What did she say? She's like, I love you, you dumbass. Yeah. I love you, you stupid jackass.

SPEAKER_01

It was the first time she said it.

SPEAKER_03

But it was true. No, I thought she was valid.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting.

SPEAKER_03

I think he was valid in having his spiral and like his, you know, what the fuck is gonna happen. But up to a certain point.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't know. It's hard for me. The the empathy in me. No, I like that.

SPEAKER_03

She like put him in his empath.

SPEAKER_01

The empath in me is like, damn, he was already having a shit ass time, and you're gonna say fuck you. No, but that's like the you know, the the light in his ass.

SPEAKER_03

What is it? Come on, say the little the spark in his butt, the spark in his ass that he needed to just get up and you know? I don't know that saying. Come on now. It's just like I'm not I'm not tickling anybody's asshole. I'm doing it looks like it's just balls. I'm snapping. I'm not tickling anything. I'm snapping. You need to get get it together. Oh, that's funny. Yeah, okay, whatever. Spark butt. Like a spark up his butt or something. Come on, get I'm a light of fire up his ass. There was that one, thank you. And so yeah, so that's what I meant to say by all that.

SPEAKER_01

That was so funny.

SPEAKER_03

I'm sorry. I didn't know my scenes, you know. Um, but yes, I think that's like the tough love he needed to, you know, get it together.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true, because he did get it together right after. 100%. And I thought it was really cute that he called the show.

SPEAKER_03

No, that was adorable, his grand jester, but before that, when he messes up and that whole shit happens, and all the guys go over and they're like, ooh, like you kind of messed up. We all heard that. Like she put you in your place, guy.

SPEAKER_01

So why did you like this book as much as the first one?

SPEAKER_03

No, no, I didn't. I like book one first I like book one more. I like Garrett more and I liked Hannah more. But I didn't think like I was I enjoyed this too. I was like so excited.

SPEAKER_01

I think Ramona really fucked me.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe. I don't know. I just oh, we didn't even talk about the Ramona part. So Ramona, she gets into this pickle where she is with the opposing team in a hotel room and they're doing coke and drink and alcohol, and they took her phone and they won't let her leave and shit. Terrifying, first of all. Terrifying. Like, why would you put yourself there, lady?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And like it's it was so sad because she explains how she got like a little more trashy as like the year went, which is kind of sad. I'm like, are we gonna get more from Ramona? And yeah, no, like, I don't know. Yeah, weird.

SPEAKER_03

But like, yeah, she was like on the spiral too. And uh, so Grace and Logan go save her, and Logan against all those guys protecting and coming for Ramona. I was like, hot. Yeah, and he doesn't even like that bitch. He doesn't like that bitch, but he stood up for her. Yep. That's love. I really liked him in that part. He was like not backing down. He's like, get the fuck out of my way. Yep. Love them.

SPEAKER_01

That's terrifying though. Like that gave me so much like eewee.

SPEAKER_03

No, I was so nervous. I'm like, oh my god, is he gonna fight these people?

SPEAKER_01

I really don't want, like, is he gonna beat him up? No, and then like in the when he was like explaining what they saw, and it was like he answered the door, and there's like four people like grouped around. I was like, oh no.

SPEAKER_04

Not the fucking gangbang.

SPEAKER_03

No, and I was like, I was literally my annotation, I'm crying. It was when he went to go pick up his dad. His dad had like a an episode and he was just drunk. He he thinks the mom is still with them and everything. Yeah, that's it. And he's like, Don't tell her about this Jeffy, which he he thinks it's his brother, like just nothing. Yeah, she's gonna be so mad at me. And so John goes, it's hard to breathe as I lift the stinking blubbering mess that is my father into my arms and carry him to the bathroom at the end of the hall. Only thought that runs through my head, my brother is a saint. He's a goddamn saint. He's been doing this day in and day out since I left for Briar. He's been mopping up my dad's vomit and running the shop and taking care of shit without a single fucking complaint. God, what is wrong with me? Fuck the NHL. Jeff deserves a chance to get out of here as well. You know, it's hard. Yeah, that shit is hard. But no, I was like, I'm crying. Like that shit was sad as fuck.

SPEAKER_01

And then when he went to Grace's dad's house and broke down in front of him. That's what I was gonna say. Like when he missed the chance to take Grace, Grace home. And I have that on here. That was like his final straw. Yeah, because he called him son. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. No, I was literally sobbing. No, it's like, why don't you come in? We'll sit down, I'll make some coffee. I'd offer you something stronger, but you're still a minor. I have the strict rule about giving out alcohol too, and then he loses it. I fucking lose it. Yep, I ball like an honest to God baby right there in front of Grace's father. He freezes. This is the part where I cry at. He's like, only for a moment, and he springs forward and puts his arms around me. He traps me in a hug I can't escape from, a solid wall of comfort I find myself sagging into. I'm so goddamn embarrassed, but I can't fight the tears anymore. Like, like, no, like that like feeling of somebody like holding you like that when you need it.

SPEAKER_03

No. No.

SPEAKER_01

It was so fucking sad. Yeah. So fucking sad.

SPEAKER_03

And so the end of the book, basically, what happens is the coach goes to the to his actual father and he's like, listen, like this guy's not entering the draft. He's not gonna go pro because he thinks he needs to come here. Mm-hmm. And so the dad's like, he sits Jeff and John down and he's like, No, like I'm going into rehab. Like, you guys cannot be taking care of me. And that's fine. Just a slap to his face. Thank you, coach. I don't know, but I'm like, okay, like happy ending at least. He got to he got to enter the draft and everything, which was really cute.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

He was about to be pissed at coach though.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, why didn't you go on disability? Fucker.

SPEAKER_03

Come on now.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know we have the government?

SPEAKER_03

Hello. No, honestly, that's so funny though. The the whole part where she breaks up with him, because I put now that's an FMC. Okay. You cannot think the more opposite. No, I was just like, put him in his place.

SPEAKER_01

But you wanted her to forgive him for being like, oh, you're a distraction while she's naked on the bed. Yeah, I guess. You know.

SPEAKER_03

You know, to each their own, right? To each their own. Oh my gosh, no. And this anecdote is LMAO Gretchen. This is Karina with people's names. Not the fucking host calling Grace Gretchen. I'm like, that's literally Karina. That's me. So this is the part where he's like doing his grand gesture. He calls in, right? And so he's talking to Pace, the fucking radio guy. Well, he goes, I've been in love with her for a few months now. And so Pace says, dude, you should have told her. If you say it right off the bat, they drop their painting super fast. And so Logan's like, uh-huh. Anyway, this girl, she's the love of my life. She's smart and funny and unbelievably compassionate. She forgives people even when they don't deserve it. She and then Pace inter interrupts. Good late. Oh yeah, the best.

SPEAKER_01

At the end of the day, like Logan was real college. He was a college boy.

SPEAKER_03

Super college.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I think they all were. Yeah, I agree.

SPEAKER_03

Because, like, even no, I thought it was so cute, going back to Garrett, obviously, when she had her freaking showcase and like he was there. So cute.

SPEAKER_01

Of course, so fucking cute. And of course she fucking won. We didn't even go over that her singing, that she could sing. Hannah. Cutie Patootie. Love that.

SPEAKER_03

And she was singing. Oh, love.

SPEAKER_01

So cute.

SPEAKER_03

So cute. Yeah, her whole dilemma was that her fucking showcase, the fucking partner was a freaking weasel.

SPEAKER_01

He is a weasel. Also, MJ. Stupid bitch. You see, like MJ, they weren't really close friends. Like, obviously, she's a stupid bitch, like you said, but like she didn't really bother me as much as Ramona.

SPEAKER_03

No, 100%. Ramona was her friend since they were children. Exactly. But like that was like one of the big things in that book. No, yeah, that was like very snaky of her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so whatever. Whatever.

SPEAKER_03

Ramona hater over here. It's fine. Um, but yeah, I enjoyed both books. Me too. I'm excited for the next ones. I'm intrigued to see what they're about.

SPEAKER_01

I'm so excited for Dean's. Like, so excited for his. I just know his is gonna be good. Like, I hope, I hope it's a he falls first, because like then he would like be itching. Like, and he is not the one that's gonna itch. You know what I mean? No, you're gonna you're gonna die. You will die. Jaw on the floor. I'm excited. I'm so fucking excited. I'm excited for you to read it and then for us to talk about it. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Alright, shall we get into the good reads?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Perfect, perfect. Let me find them. Why do we do an English accent every once in a while?

SPEAKER_03

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_01

It's either that or Dracula. So this is a five star. I loved this book. I was hooked from the very first page and spent the rest of my afternoon laughing out loud, swooning, fanning myself, and highlighting awesome and hilarious quotes nonstop. 100%. Literally.

SPEAKER_03

I love it when like I just like pick up a book and I'm just like, oh, I can't wait to read it. Literally, so much fucking fun. So fun.

SPEAKER_01

So this is another five stars. And it goes, What can I say about the deal that hasn't been said in hundreds of other reviews? Well, I can say I regret being so late to the party on this one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I can say with absolute certainty that there wasn't one thing I didn't love about this book. And as much as I love books and love to read, that doesn't happen very often. I wouldn't change a thing about this read. If you're like me and haven't read this one yet, I encourage you to make it your next read. You won't regret it.

SPEAKER_03

You won't. I really, really am liking the series.

SPEAKER_01

Literally. And it goes, Hannah and Garrett were perfect together. I love their banter and friendship. I loved even more when it developed. They had such fantastic chemistry. And it wasn't just about the sex between them. Those weeks of friendship made them really care about one another and get to know each other. Agreed. Like super cute. This one's good. This one's kind of funny. It's a 3.5 stars. Okay, okay, okay. I get it now. This ain't no literary masterpiece in any way, shape, or form. Let's get that out of the way. We don't ever expect me to go into books like these using my critical thinking skills. It's very tropey, but damn lord have mercy. Why would I lay my life down for this white man? This was such a feel good. This is such a feel good book. I kind of enjoy pasty white people going to the ends of the earth for one another.

SPEAKER_02

Literally, we would lay down for fucking Garrett. Oh my god, this is so funny.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this one, I was like, this is crazy. This one gave a one-star review, and it goes, I don't write reviews for books I DNF. However, this can't remain unsaid. Why did Garrett have to write a paper on philosophers who justified what happened in Nazi? Come on now. What kind of college class is this? Literally, why did you let your character say, I finally got this Nazi thing down? People are so stupid. When he finally aged his homework. So she really, I mean, like Valid is fun. No, valid as fun. Come on. But she was really hating that in this book, so she didn't read it.

SPEAKER_03

That's so funny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so yeah. That was crazy. Two stars. This is what internalized misogyny looks like. Damn. Then the comment is like, God, this is one of the worst books I've ever read.

SPEAKER_03

Damn. Not after we just raved about it for an hour.

SPEAKER_01

Five stars over here. This is a two-star, and it says, I can see why this book hit it off in 2015, but now it's pretty much outdated, not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_03

Honestly, we're dumb as fuck. Come on, Gorina, what are we doing? We change our mind. We changed your mind.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, that's funny. So this one, this one I picked because it's like so not me, but like she gave it a four star, so it's fine. She goes, the whole fake dating to real dating isn't my favorite trope, usually because it deals with childish games, playing hard to get and making people jealous. I'm not a fan, I'm not a fan of those kinds of dating tactics. This pleasantly surprised me.

SPEAKER_03

Karina eats it up. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Give me that shit.

SPEAKER_03

Give me all of it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Everything you just explained there. Give it to me.

SPEAKER_03

The jealousy, the playing the games, childish all of it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, that's so funny. All right, now we're gonna move on to the mistake. So this is a four-star, and it says, really good college romance. I have to admit, I still love the deal better. It had more of a spark to it.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. There's your spark. There's a spark.

SPEAKER_01

But this was a fun read, too. That's cute. Um, this is a one-star. Logan gave me secondhand embarrassment when he asked Grace if she came 10% in, and the girl said, Uh-huh, of course. No dead ass. Literally, I'm like, is Logan a loser? Is Logan a fucking loser? There went his fragile ego. Two star. Logan is a wet sock. Oof. He wasn't that bad. Not that bad. This is a five-star, and it says, I really, really need a John Logan in my life. This is a four and a half stars. A wonderful addition to L. Kennedy's off-campus series, delivered with Elle's trademark humor and vivid characterization. The mistake is another fantastic read for me. Logan is a fantastic hero, and although Gary would forever be my number one, I gotta admit that Logan managed to make me laugh so hard with his crazy abbreviations and all-around hotness. This is a three and a half stars. John Logan is so witty and cute and had me smiling the whole way through, and I absolutely loved Grace and found her super relatable. I love you, you stupid jackass. Sounds like something that could come directly out of my mouth. Why is it a 3.5 then? I felt like this book was super fast-paced, which I liked, but I felt like it lacked a storyline. He made a mistake that doesn't happen until about 35 to 40 percent-ish through the book. And then after it's solved super soon. But that's my only problem, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. This one's funny. This is a one-star, and it goes, first of all, I apologize for my crude language, but the book was intolerable. John or Johnny, whatever you want to call him, was a total man whore. His favorite pastime, sucking random girls' pussies.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

His weekend plans, fucking girls. His goal in life, fucking as many girls as possible. And I hated it. Not having it. So that was funny. So I there was like a bunch of mixed reviews on it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I I definitely like the first one better. Yeah. I definitely like the first one better. It was fun.

SPEAKER_01

But I really hit with that review that it's like it makes you nervous to read the next one because I didn't like this one as much as the first one. So I'm like, what's the third one gonna do for me? You know what I mean? But it sounds like it sounds like it's gonna be really good because I'm just like so for Dean, because Dean is such a man whore. So I'm just like so excited for that.

SPEAKER_03

No, but I'm also like, what about four and five?

SPEAKER_01

I'm excited to read the next three. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That'll be fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm really excited for it. I'm excited for all of it. So I guess that's it for this week. Yeah. Read responsibly. Or don't.
