Meet Candace: Military Background

Hi everybody and welcome to Snapshots Tampa Bay with Candice and Lisa. Get ready to dive into the exciting and colorful world of the greater Tampa Bay area. Whether you're sorting out a military move, checking out the senior living scene or just on the hunt for the coolest local spots, let's get started and have some fun. So, candice, this is our first podcast. I'm so excited. We have been talking about this for at least a year. You and I, we came together a long time ago in a partnership a real estate partnership but we found that we have so many similarities in the things that we like to do, so why don't you tell people about yourself, and then I'll go after you.

Okay, great. So yeah, I grew up in the Orlando area. Since I was 11 years old, my husband and I went out to Oregon for five years but the drawback to Florida just couldn't stop bringing us here and I said I needed to be closer to a beach. So we landed in the Tampa Bay area and we absolutely love it. We love exploring the local restaurant, the local bars. We love going to the beach, just kind of enjoying the Florida lifestyle.

Well and tell everybody, because some of the reasons why you moved everywhere is because your husband was in the military.

Yeah, he was in the military. He wasn't when we went to Oregon, but we love to explore new places and I always wanted to live someplace where it was colder. He wasn't so happy about the winters there. That's why we're back in Florida?

Well, neither would I.

So, yes, but yes, my husband was in the military. So one thing that kind of drew me to real estate was when you're in the military and you move so much, it's such a struggle buying and selling a home and finding a neighborhood for your family again every two to three to four years, however often you move. So I really just wanted to be a resource for military families on not only finding their new house that they're going to live in but their new community, Because as a military family, you need community.

What's Coming Next

Yeah, definitely, and especially with the spouses. The spouses have to uproot their lives too, so helping them out, getting them more acquainted into the area, I think we both are passionate about that. As far as I'm concerned, I want to know the places to go. My husband and I we're foodies. We love to go out to different places and try different things, and I will tell you, we went to our first speakeasy not too long ago and I'm so excited about finding out about more speakeasies. Anybody have any hints? You go ahead and let me know. Tell us in the comments. I know, yeah, definitely tell us in the comments, because we want to check out places like that for people too.

Yeah, we want to bring the neighborhoods of the Tampa Bay area, whether it's St Petersburg or Clearwater, wesley Chapel, the Parrish, palmetto area, even down to Sarasota. We want to bring those communities to you because it's about community when you're trying to find a new home.

So, yeah, we're going to explore all of that for you. Well, and a little bit about myself too. I actually grew up in the tampa bay area also. Um, went to school at university of florida, was in entertainment at disney, and then I went to the atlanta area, came back here six years ago and I'm truly just loving the atmosphere that is here now, the diversity that is here now, and I really want to highlight that for anybody who's either wanting to move to the area or just wanting to come and have fun with us. Please yes, we love to have fun.

We'll invite people out with us. Don't worry, as she. She worked for Disney and Entertainment for a while, so we can even give you Disney tips. My husband worked there for 20 years before we moved out to Oregon as a chef, so we can definitely give you the secrets of the Disney world.
