What's up, Smyrna? Welcome to our Smyrna snapshot episode where we give you a brief snapshot of events, news, local happenings, restaurants, and everything in between. This week we're only highlighting one event, this episode, because it's a big one. Snapshot number one. Smyrna going big time on the global stage. Smyrna is part of a simultaneous global Guinness World Record attempt where participants from 30 cities worldwide will attempt to juggle a soccer ball at the exact same time. This is a really cool event taking place right in our backyard. Come be a part of history and set a new world record. This event takes place Saturday, June 6th at Village Green Park. That's 1250 Powder Spring Street, which is the parkslash green space right at the community center library jonqual festival area. Festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m. with professional football, freestylers, soccer for sale, music, and vendors. The official world record attempt will start at 12.30 p.m. This event is free if you just want to watch, but if you want to be part of the record, you need to register at footballworldrecord.com. After you register, you'll need to bring your own size 5 soccer ball and be able to continuously juggle it for 10 seconds. Alright, so this is a really cool event. This is not an everyday occurrence. Please come out, check out the event. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Um, here's a little gift for the What's Up Smyrna podcast listeners. If you go to this event, be on the lookout for my mom, Patty Peck. She is a realtor and Smyrna resident, but most importantly, she'll be passing out fans at this event to cool yourself off. And believe me, you will want one. The high, the high on Saturday will be near 90, and you can cool yourself off after you break the world record. Turns out, not a bad little Saturday.
