On Awareness: 

Professor Sari Nusseibeh is working on a new book, titled The Scout, or Philosophy and Us. The book, written in Arabic, focuses on how the philosophical method can be leveraged, particularly in the context of the Palestinians. In this podcast, we will bring sections of the book, translated into the spoken Palestinian dialect. We will then enter into a conversation with Professor Nusseibeh on the respective section and beyond. The idea behind the podcast is to delve deeply into the concepts and ideas presented in the book and to spark a discussion among Arabic speakers worldwide.

In this third episode, we will present a segment from the book’s chapter on the main aspects of the philosophical method, translated into the spoken Palestinian dialect. We then engage in a conversation with Professor Sari Nusseibeh about the main aspects of the philosophical method, with a focus on the role of awareness. Together, we explore the meaning of awareness and whether philosophy enhances awareness as a critical cognitive skill.

عن الوعي: 

يعمل البروفيسور سري نسيبة على كتاب جديد بعنوان "الكشّاف، أو نحن والفلسفة". يركّز الكتاب، المكتوب باللغة العربية، على كيفية توظيف المنهج الفلسفي، خصوصًا في السياق الفلسطيني. في هذه البودكاست، سنقدّم مقاطع من الكتاب مترجمة إلى اللهجة الفلسطينية المحكية، ثم ندخل في حوار مع البروفيسور نسيبة حول المقطع المعروض وما يتعدّاه. فكرة البودكاست هي الغوص عميقًا في مفاهيم وأفكار الكتاب وإطلاق نقاش بين الناطقين بالعربية في جميع أنحاء العالم.
