Order My Steps: The Christian Journey
Life is a journey of steps—some certain, some uncertain, some guided, and some misdirected. My own journey began in darkness, behind prison walls, a place where hope seemed lost and purpose hidden. But even there, God was at work.
I was sentenced to ten years in 2000, served four years in prison, and completed the remainder on parole in 2012. During that time, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. It was in prison, in the quiet of my heart, that I first encountered God’s presence. I realized that even in the darkest places, He was ordering my steps.
This book is a journey—a roadmap for anyone seeking to walk faithfully with God. Through Scripture, personal testimony, and practical lessons, I want to show you that no step is wasted when God is guiding your life.

From Thought Patterns to Peace: Renewing the Mind Through Christ
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The fiercest battles are often quiet—the ones fought in our thoughts before a word is spoken or a step is taken. Today we unpack how God renovates the inner life, turning a cluttered, creaking mental space into a home fit for peace, purpose, and joy. We start with a simple but disruptive idea: your mind is the workshop where transformation is built, not a storage unit for fear, shame, and comparison. From there, we walk through the “house remodel” of the soul, naming what needs to be hauled to the curb and what truth must be installed to hold the weight of real life.
We dig into the seed-and-harvest principle of thought life—what you feed grows—and get practical about curating inputs. Social feeds, music, and conversations either nudge you closer to Christ or pull you away, so we show how to guard your mental diet without becoming rigid or fearful. You’ll hear a simple daily rhythm to start your mornings with Scripture, respond to intrusive thoughts by taking them captive, and replace stale narratives with God’s promises. Along the way, we lean on Philippians 4:8 and 2 Corinthians 10:5 to anchor the practice of renewal in truth, not trend.
This conversation aims at a deeper shift than positive thinking; it’s about Christ-centered living that reshapes identity and decisions. When your mind changes, your life changes—your walk, your talk, and your choices start matching the new life you’ve received. If you’re ready to retire old mental furniture and make room for peace, faith, and joy, press play and join us in the daily work of renewal. The Battle In The Mind
SPEAKER_00I'm your host, Reverend Corey Young, and this is Order My Steps, A Changed Life in Christ. One of the greatest battles you will ever face as a believer is not on the outside, it's on the inside. It's not about who hurt you, who left you, or even the storms that come against you. The greatest battlefield is the mind. But here's the good news. Through Christ, you don't have to stay stuck in the old patterns of thinking. You can experience a total transformation by renewing your mind through the word of God. The mind is the workshop of transformation. The mind is where God does his remodeling. Think about a house that's been neglected. Walls peeling, pipes leaking, floors creaking. Before the home can be filled with peace and joy, it has to be renovated. That's exactly what God does with your thought life. When you gave your life to Christ, your spirit was instantly made new. But your mind, that's a process. The old thoughts just don't vanish overnight. You may still wrestle with fear, doubt, anger, or even shame. But day by day, God begins to rewire you, not from the outside in, but from the inside out. Ask yourself, what old furniture is still sitting in the room of your mind? Is it fear? Is it bitterness? If so, then hand it over to God and let him renovate your thought patterns. What you feed, you empower. Your thoughts are like seeds. Whatever you plant will grow. If you plant seeds of worry, you will harvest anxiety. If you plant seeds of comparison, you will harvest insecurity. But if you plant the word of God, you will harvest peace, faith, and joy. Philippians 4 and 8 teaches us to keep our minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. In other words, guard your mental diet. What you allow into your mind shapes what comes out of your life. Pay attention to what's feeding your thoughts, social media, music, conversations. Are they pushing you closer to Christ or pulling you farther away? Starve the lies, feed the truth. Transformation is a daily decision. Renewing the mind is not a one-time event, it's a daily commitment. Just like you wouldn't shower once and say, I'm clean forever, you can't read the word once and expect lasting transformation. You've got to keep going back. Every day the enemy tries to reintroduce the old you, but every day God gives you a chance to reinforce the new you. That's why Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10 and 5 that we must destroy arguments and every proud thing that right that raises itself against the knowledge of God and bring every thought into captivity to obey Christ. Start your mornings with the word, not the world, but the word. Give God the first say, not social media. When negative thoughts come, don't entertain them, arrest them. Replace them with God's promises. Here's today's inspiration. The renewed mind is not just about positive thinking, it's about Christ-centered living. When your mind changes, your life changes. You don't have to live chained to yesterday's thoughts. You don't have to be held hostage by lies you once believed. Through the power of Christ, you can step into the new mindset, a mindset of peace, of purpose, of victory. And when your mind is renewed, your walk, your talk, and your decisions will reflect the new life you've been given in Jesus. Let us close with the word of prayer. Father, we thank you for reminding us that real change begins in the mind. Lord, we surrender every old thought, every lie, and every negative pattern to you. Renovate our minds with your truth and plant seeds of faith, peace, and joy. Give us the discipline to feed on your word daily and to and the courage to reject anything that doesn't reflect you. Today we declare that our minds are being renewed and our lives are being transformed. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Thank you for joining me today on Order My Steps, A Changed Life in Christ. Don't just hear the word, live it. Allow God to transform your thoughts so your walk matches your new identity in Him. If this episode has blessed you, share it with someone who needs encouragement. Until next time, keep walking by faith, keep renewing your mind, and remember your steps are ordered by the Lord.
