Freedom is only the beginning; purpose gives it direction. We open up a candid, hope-filled look at how to move from wandering to walking with intention by rooting identity and calling in God’s design, not in constant self-chasing. Drawing from Jeremiah 29:11 and the life of Moses, we unpack why purpose starts with the One who made you and grows as you learn His voice, choose obedience over urgency, and serve people over pursuing platforms.

Across this heartfelt conversation, we break down the shift from “What do I want?” to “Lord, what did You make me to do?” and show how that single pivot replaces pressure with peace. You’ll hear how relationship clarifies assignment—through prayer, worship, and Scripture—and why detours and delays don’t disqualify your calling. We dig into the practical: listening for God’s guidance in daily decisions, resisting the pull to chase every opportunity, and embracing service as the core of a life well-lived. With Jesus’ model of servant leadership front and center, we explore how titles fade but transformation lasts, how ordinary people become conduits of extraordinary grace, and how small acts—encouragement, kindness, presence—can echo with eternal impact.

We close with a bold declaration to live with intention and a prayer for alignment, courage, and fresh fire. If you’re ready to trade hustle for holy pace, to let your life preach without a platform, and to steward what God placed in your hands, this message will help you step forward with clarity and hope. From Freedom To Purpose

SPEAKER_00

Welcome back. I'm your host, Reverend Corey Young, and this is Order My Steps, A Changed Life in Christ. Now that we've talked about walking in freedom, today we're going to talk about something just as powerful, and that is living with purpose. Because freedom without direction is just wondering. God didn't set you free just so you could exist. He set you free so you could live for something greater than yourself. You were called and created on purpose, for a purpose and with a purpose. So let's discover what that really means today. One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29 and 11. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. There are plans for good and not for trouble to give you a future and a hope. Our purpose begins with God, not you. In a world that keeps telling us to find ourselves, the truth is you don't find purpose in self-discovery, you find it in God discovering. You didn't create yourself, so you can't define yourself. The creator holds the blueprint for the creation. Again, Jeremiah 29.11, it reminds us that God already has a plan. That means before you took your first breath, God had already written your purpose. You may have taken detours in life, faced delays in life, or even made mistakes, but none of those disqualifies you. God's purpose is not fragile, it's eternal. So stop asking, Lord, what do I want to do? And start asking, Lord, what did you make me to do? When you align your desires with his design, your life starts to move in a divine rhythm. Your purpose is revealed through relationship. You can't fulfill what you don't understand, and you can't understand it apart from the one who gave it to you. The more you walk with God, the clearer the purpose becomes. Think about Moses. He didn't discover his purpose while hiding in Pharaoh's palace. He discovered it in the presence of God at the burning bush. When you spend time in prayer, worship, and the word, you begin to sense God's direction. You start hearing his voice more clear. And that's when your steps start making more sense. So don't chase opportunities, pursue obedience. Purpose flows from an intimate relationship with God. So spend time with him, not just to get answers, but to get aligned with his word. Purpose always serves others. True purpose isn't about titles, it's about transformation. It's not about being seen, it's about making a difference. Jesus said in Mark chapter 10, verse 45, The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. When you live for yourself, you eventually run empty. But when you live to serve, you tap into a source that never runs dry. Purpose isn't found in platform, it's found in pouring yourself out for others. Ask God, who can I serve today? It might be a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, or simply showing love to someone who feels forgotten. Purpose grows when you give it away. Here are some words of inspiration. When you walk in purpose, you stop living by pressure and start living by peace. You stop chasing what's next and start cherishing what's now. The world may measure success by status, but heaven measures it by stewardship. What did you do with what God placed in your hands? Don't underestimate your purpose. You might not preach from a pulpit, but your life can still preach. You might not hold a title, but you can still make an impact. God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things when they surrender to His will. Declare this with me. Lord, I will walk in purpose. I will live with intention, I will use my freedom to fulfill your plans for my life. Let us close with the word of prayer. Lord, I pray and ask that you align our hearts with your will so that everything we do reflects you. I pray for every listener who feels lost or unsure. Remind them that you still have a plan and it's not over. Ignite a fire within us to live with direction, passion, and divine purpose. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Thank you for joining me today on Order My Steps of Change Life in Christ. Don't just live life. Live life with purpose. Walk with intention and remember every step you take in faith brings you closer to God's plan for your life. If this episode spoke to your heart, share it with someone who needs hope. Until next time, keep walking by faith, keep living with purpose, and always remember your steps are ordered by the Lord.
