Order My Steps: The Christian Journey
Life is a journey of steps—some certain, some uncertain, some guided, and some misdirected. My own journey began in darkness, behind prison walls, a place where hope seemed lost and purpose hidden. But even there, God was at work.
I was sentenced to ten years in 2000, served four years in prison, and completed the remainder on parole in 2012. During that time, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. It was in prison, in the quiet of my heart, that I first encountered God’s presence. I realized that even in the darkest places, He was ordering my steps.
This book is a journey—a roadmap for anyone seeking to walk faithfully with God. Through Scripture, personal testimony, and practical lessons, I want to show you that no step is wasted when God is guiding your life.
Order My Steps: The Christian Journey
What if letting go is how God opens the next door?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if the peace you’re praying for is waiting on the forgiveness you’ve been postponing? Reverend Corey Young takes us into the hard, honest work of letting go—why it’s commanded in scripture, how it frees the heart, and what it looks like to release someone without rewriting the past. We ground the conversation in Ephesians 4:31–32 and Matthew 6:14–15, unpacking the difference between ignoring pain and surrendering it to God. Along the way, we break down a simple practice—write the name, speak the release, and ask for peace—that helps you move from rehearsing the hurt to living unchained.
We also draw strength from Joseph’s story, where betrayal and injustice meet a larger purpose. “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good” becomes more than a famous line; it becomes a lens for reframing your own wounds, protecting your heart from bitterness, and keeping purpose intact. Expect a clear look at how unforgiveness blocks prayer, clouds peace, and creates static in your spiritual signal—and how choosing to forgive opens heaven’s clarity again. You’ll hear a heartfelt prayer, a bold affirmation of freedom in Christ, and practical language for releasing the anger without neglecting wise boundaries.
If you’ve felt distant from God, heavy in worship, or stuck replaying what happened, this conversation offers a path forward: forgive as you’ve been forgiven, honor your story, and let God hold the justice. Subscribe for more Christ-centered encouragement, share this with someone who needs hope, and leave a review to tell us what shifted for you after choosing to release. Your steps are still ordered—walk in grace, walk in freedom, and walk in forgiveness.

The Call To Forgive
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to another life-changing episode of What of My Steps A Change Life in Christ. I'm your host, Reverend Corey Young, and today we're stepping into one of the hardest lessons God has ever asked us to do, and that is forgiveness. It's easy to shout about blessings. It's easy to praise when doors open. But what about when God says, forgive the one who hurt you? Forgiveness isn't just about setting others free, it's about freeing yourself. And until you release that hurt, you can't truly walk in healing. So today's episode is called The Power of Forgiveness. Because there's no true change in Christ without learning how to let go. Ephesians 4 and 31 through 32 says this put out of your life all bitterness, anger, fighting, and every kind of bad feeling. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgive each other, just as God has forgiven you because of Christ. And over in Matthew chapter 6, verse 14 through 15 it says, If you forgive others for their sins, your father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, your father in heaven will not forgive you your sins. Many of us think that forgiveness is a choice, but in matter of fact, God's word says that forgiveness is a command. We treat forgiveness like it's optional, like we can hold on until we're ready. But Jesus makes it clear if you want God to forgive you, you must forgive others. When you carry on forgiveness, it doesn't hurt the person who wronged you, it poisons you. You can't move forward dragging yesterday's pain into today's purpose. Write this down. Write down the name of the person you've been struggling to forgive. Then pray, Lord, I release them. Not because they deserve it, but because I deserve peace. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting, it means releasing. Forgiveness doesn't erase what happened. It means you've decided that the hurt no longer controls you. Joseph in the Old Testament had every reason to stay bitter, betrayed by his own brothers, sold into slavery. But when he saw them again, he said, You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. That's the power of release. When you forgive, you take the power away from your pain and hand it over to God. So stop rehearsing the hurt and start releasing it. Your future can't flourish if your heart still chained to what happened yesterday. Forgiveness restores fellowship with God. Unforgiveness blocks your prayers, it clouds your peace, and it weakens your walk with God. It's like static in your spiritual signal. Jesus said before you even bring your gifts to the altar, go make it right with your brother or sister first. When you forgive, heaven opens up again. Your worship becomes lighter. Your prayers flow freely. If you've been feeling distant from God, check your heart. There may be some someone you need to forgive. Release them and watch your connection with God be restored. Here's some closing encouragement. We must let go to grow. Maybe someone listening right now was betrayed by family. Maybe you were abandoned, lied on, or hurt by people you trusted, and you're saying, Reverend Corey, you don't know what they did to me. You're right. I don't, but God does. And he's not asking you to pretend it didn't happen. He's asking you to trust him with it. The same God who forgave you for everything you've done is asking you to extend that same grace. Not because they earned it, but because you're no longer bound by bitterness. Repeat this with me. I refuse to live in the prison of my past. I release the hurt, the anger, and the offense. Because I am free in Christ, I choose forgiveness today. Let us close with the word of prayer. Father, thank you for showing us that forgiveness is freedom. Help us to release every wound and every person that has caused us pain. Heal the brokenhearted, Lord, and restore joy where bitterness once lived. We forgive because you first forgave us. Teach us to love again, to trust again, and to live free again. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen. Thank you for joining me for another powerful episode of Order My Steps, A Changed Life in Christ. Remember, forgiveness doesn't make them right, it makes you free. Don't carry what God already died to remove. Until next time, I'm Reverend Corey Young reminding you your steps are still ordered by the Lord. So walk in grace, walk in freedom, and walk in forgiveness.
