Plans make us feel safe, but purpose often begins where our plans end. We open up about those moments when God steps in, closes a door you wanted open, and redirects your path in ways that feel disruptive. What if that disruption is not a setback, but a strategic move of grace designed to protect your destiny, reveal what you couldn’t see, and grow your trust?

We walk through practical, faith-centered reframes you can use right now: how to interpret closed doors without spiraling, how to surrender control without losing momentum, and how to tell the difference between a good opportunity and a God assignment. We talk candidly about the cycles that keep us small—people pleasing, procrastination, spiritual inconsistency—and why divine interruptions often target those patterns first. Exposure isn’t shame; it’s surgery. God brings wounds, fear, and unfinished healing into the light because what He reveals, He intends to restore.

You’ll also hear why trust thrives without full explanations, drawing on Abraham’s example of following God step by step. We offer language and prayer to help you pivot from anxiety to obedience, and from disappointment to realignment. Expect clear takeaways on spiritual dependence, discernment, and the difference between comfortable plans and transformational purpose. If you’ve been asking why a door closed, a relationship shifted, or an opportunity vanished, this conversation will help you see the detour as direction and the interruption as invitation.

Opening And Core Question

Welcome to Order My Steps, The Christian Journey, the podcast where we walk out the Christian journey one step at a time. I'm your host, Reverend Corey Young, and I'm honored that you're tuning in today. Sometimes God steps into your life at the most unexpected moment and completely interrupts everything you thought you had figured out. And if we're being real, those interruptions can feel frustrating, confusing, or even painful. But what if God's interruption is actually his invitation? What if what feels like a disruption is really divine direction? Today, we're talking about a powerful topic when God interrupts your plans. And I believe this word is going to speak directly into your spirit. Let's dive into the episode. We all have plans. We plan our careers, our families, our finances, our future. And there's nothing wrong with planning. But the problem comes when our plans take the lead, and God's voice becomes an afterthought. And because God loves you, he will interrupt anything that pulls you out of alignment with his will. Sometimes his interruption is the only thing that saves your destiny. Let's walk through these powerful truths today. God interrupts to redirect your path. God's interruptions are never random, they are strategic moves of grace. Jonah had a plan, run away from God's calling, but God had counter had a counterplan. He saved Jonah and saved nations through him. God's interruption wasn't punishment, it was protection. There will be seasons where God stops you abruptly. Doors you wanted to walk through suddenly closes. Relationships you wanted to keep suddenly falls apart. Opportunities you prepared for suddenly disappears. You call it a disappointment, but heaven calls it realignment. If God blocked it, it wasn't meant to carry you into the future. God also interrupts to reveal what you couldn't see. Sometimes the thing you're chasing isn't God's best. It feels good, it looks promising, and it makes sense to you, but it's not leading you to purpose. God sees dangers that you never seen. And because you belong to him, he will interrupt that. Stop mourning what God moved. If he shifted it, he's saving you from something. God interrupts to deepen your trust. When God reroutes you, you're forced to walk by faith instead of clarity. Interruptions create spiritual dependence. Abraham didn't know where he was going, only who he was following. Trust isn't built on explanation. Trust is built on obedience. You don't have to understand the plan, you just have to trust the planner, and that's God. God also interrupts to break cycles that you don't even recognize. Some cycles feel normal because you've lived in them so long. Cycles of people pleasing, cycles of stagnation, cycles of procrastination, cycles of emotional battles, cycles of spiritual inconsistency. God will interrupt your comfort to break your cycle. God will interrupt your rhythm to birth new discipline. God will interrupt your habits to make room for transformation. God loves you too much to let you stay in a pattern that will keep you in a small situation. God's interruptions expose what you've been avoiding. When God stops your plans, he shines light on the wounds you've buried, the fear you hid, the assignment you've been running from, the spiritual maturity you still need, the healing you never finish. Interruptions bring the truth to the surface, and what God exposes, he intends to heal. God interrupts not to embarrass you, but to deliver you. God interrupts to release what he prepared for you. Sometimes God has to remove what you built so he can reveal what he has prepared. Every divine interruption is a divine invitation. It's an invitation to deeper faith, to new direction, to fresh anointing, to greater purpose, to a higher spiritual level. Your plan is comfortable, but his plan is transformational. Your plan is predictable, but his plan is supernatural. Your plan is limited, but his plan is limitless. God is not interrupting your plan. Here's some encouragement. God is not trying to ruin your life. He's trying to realign it. He's not trying to frustrate you. Every interruption is connected to your elevation. Your disruption is connected to your destiny. Don't panic when God steps in. Don't fear when God redirects. Don't resist when God shifts the plan. Your steps are ordered, and so are your interruptions. Let us close with a word of prayer. Dear God, we thank you for being a God who loves us enough to interrupt us when we drift off course. Today we surrender every plan, every desire, and every expectation to you. Redirect us where needed. Reveal what we cannot see. Break every cycle that keeps us stuck. Lord, give us the courage to trust your interruption and the faith to follow your direction. Holy Spirit, guide our steps, align our hearts, and strengthen our obedience. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Thank you for joining me today on Order My Steps, The Christian Journey. If this episode blessed you, share it with somebody who needs this word. Remember, every step you take, every choice you make, and every interruption you face is part of God's divine guidance. Stay encouraged, stay committed, and above all, keep allowing the Lord to order your steps. I'm Reverend Corey Young, and until next time, be blessed.
