Order My Steps: The Christian Journey
Life is a journey of steps—some certain, some uncertain, some guided, and some misdirected. My own journey began in darkness, behind prison walls, a place where hope seemed lost and purpose hidden. But even there, God was at work.
I was sentenced to ten years in 2000, served four years in prison, and completed the remainder on parole in 2012. During that time, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. It was in prison, in the quiet of my heart, that I first encountered God’s presence. I realized that even in the darkest places, He was ordering my steps.
This book is a journey—a roadmap for anyone seeking to walk faithfully with God. Through Scripture, personal testimony, and practical lessons, I want to show you that no step is wasted when God is guiding your life.
Order My Steps: The Christian Journey
What Changes When Christ Lives In You
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if transformation doesn’t start with trying harder, but with dying to what holds you back? We open Galatians 2:20 and walk through the crucified life—trading ego, old wounds, and control for a Spirit-led way of living that actually sets you free. This is not a call to burnout or denial; it’s an invitation to let Christ’s life move through your ordinary, daily choices.
We unpack what “I am crucified with Christ” looks like on Monday morning. You’ll hear why self-improvement stalls without surrender, how to identify the parts of you that need to go to the cross, and a simple confession that re-centers your identity: Christ lives in me. We explore the new creation reality of 2 Corinthians 5:17, naming the lies of shame, fear, and addiction and replacing them with Scripture-shaped truth. Then we get practical about renewing the mind from Romans 12:2, including a doable habit—swap one negative thought each day for a verse-grounded statement—to build resilient, faith-aligned thinking.
From there, we draw a sharp line between faith and feelings. Faith obeys when outcomes are unclear, walks forward when it hurts, and surrenders even when it costs something. You’ll get a weekly filter question—Am I choosing faith or feelings?—to anchor decisions at work, at home, and in conflict. Finally, we root everything in love: Christ loved you and gave Himself for you, not only to forgive your sins but to live in you. That love reframes surrender as freedom—freedom from the past, from emotional whiplash, and from the need to control every outcome.
If this speaks to you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review so others can find it. Your steps matter, your growth matters, and God is ordering all of it.

Welcome And Core Theme
SPEAKER_00Welcome back, and I'm your host, Reverend Corey Young, and you're tuned in to Order My Steps, The Christian Journey, the podcast where spiritual growth meets real life and where the word of God becomes foundation for transformation, not just information. And in today's episode, this is one that cuts deep, one that challenges us, one that invites us into the life that many talk about, but very few truly walk out. And that is living the crucified life. Galatians 2 and 20 says, I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. Let us go deep into the episode. This crucified life begins with dying to self. Luke chapter 9, verse 23 says, Deny yourself, take up your cross daily. Notice Paul didn't say I'm improved with Christ. He says that I am crucified. Why was he saying that? Because transformation doesn't start with doing better, it starts with dying to what held you, dying to things like pride, having an ego, dying to things like old habits, the old mindsets that we have, the old wounds, dying to things that need to control everything, dying mostly to the flesh that always wants its way. The crucified life means my desires don't run this anymore. It means the spirit runs it. So I had to ask God, Lord, what part of me still needs to die so that Christ can fully live through me? I had to pray over this. I had to talk to God about it. I had to develop that prayer life with God so He can reveal those things to me. For one, I had to go to the cross, go to God, get in his presence, and let it all go. I had to understand also that Christ in me is greater than the old me. 2 Corinthians 5 and 17 says, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. Paul says, Nevertheless, I live yet not I. That means the old version of you, the one chained by sin, insecurity, anger, trauma, addiction, or fear does not have the final say. Christ now lives in you. You're not living from your strength anymore. You're living from his. You're not living from your old past anymore. You're living from grace. You're not living from your mistakes anymore. You're living from mercy. Every morning, ask yourself, confess, Christ lives in me. My old self no longer controls me. Once you do that, watch how your mindset shifts. The crucified life requires a new way of thinking. Romans 12 and 2. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You cannot live a new life with an old mindset. When Christ lives in you, your thinking must come into alignment. Your thinking must come into alignment. You think differently about temptation. You think differently about identity. You think differently about purpose. You think differently about suffering. You think differently about the decision makings. You think differently about your relationships. And most of all, you think differently about trials that you have in life. The crucified life is a renewed mindset. This is why some people love God but still live defeated. Their minds never shifted. So replace one negative thought a day with a scripture-based truth. Once you start to do that, you'll feel transformation take root in your life. You live by faith, not by feelings. Galatians 2 and 20, it says, the life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God. Faith becomes the engine of your life, not emotions, not circumstances, not options, not moods. Simply put, faith. Faith says, I trust him when I don't see the outcome. It says, I obey even when it's uncomfortable. I walk forward even when it hurts. I surrender even when it costs me something. The crucified life is a faith-led life, not a feeling-led life. When facing a decision this week, ask, is this choice based on faith or feeling? I promise you, if you choose faith, you'll start seeing the outcome. The crucified life is rooted in his love. Galatians 2 and 20 says also that who loved me and gave himself for me. This is the heart of it all. You don't surrender out of fear. You surrender because you are so loved. You are loved deeply, you're loved relentlessly, you're loved sacrificially. Christ didn't just die for your sins, he died to live in you. You become a vessel of his presence, a carrier of his character, and a reflection of his glory. Sit for five minutes in silence today and let this truth sink in. Jesus loves me enough to live through me. Let that love empower you. Here's some closing exhortation. The crucified life is not a burden, it's a freedom. It's freedom from the old you, freedom from the weight you've been carrying, freedom from the bondage of the past, freedom from a life controlled by emotions. When you die to self, Christ rises in you. So this week, walk boldly knowing I am crucified with Christ, and the life I now live is a spirit-filled life. Thank you for joining me today on All of My Steps, The Christian Journey. I pray that this episode has strengthened your walk and it renews your mind and reminds you that Christ lives in you with power. If this blesses you, share it with someone who needs encouragement. And remember, your steps matter, your growth matter, your surrenders, your surrender matter, and God is ordering all of it. This is Reverend Corey Young. Stay faithful, stay focused, and I'll see you at the next episode.
