Reflect on this question: At 50 plus, is your life where you want it to be? If not, why? What's hindering you? What do you want from life?
Welcome, welcome, welcome, my beloved sisters, to the Awaken Hearts Ministry Weekly Podcast. A podcast for women over 50 who are ready to reclaim and remember their divine identity. A podcast for women ready to walk free from the chains of religion and to move into a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God, as you understand God. So on this podcast, we're going to explore scripture, not just as history, but as alive words with depth of meaning and implications. We're going to explicate the deeper meaning of words and phrases and sayings. We've heard all our lives Many of these phrases we've heard and we've secretly questioned what do they really mean? But we wouldn't dare speak it or ask out loud. By the way, I love words. I just, I, just I really love like words and phrases and that sort of thing and exploring their deeper meanings, and so this is exciting to me. So you know, like words and sayings that we've heard all our lives, like the kingdom of God is within you, like what does that really mean? The kingdom of God is within you. So we'll also be discussing breaking free of the weights. Right, quote, unquote We've been carrying for way too long the weights that have hindered our physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth, so weights like shame and guilt and fear. Fear was a biggie for me. Fear kept me weighed down for years and years and years. We'll explore topics of health and wellness. We'll talk about self-care, beyond pampering, and we'll also be considering things like the mind-body connection. We'll take a deep dive into looking at our relationships, past and present, and how they have impacted us, and we'll unpack and take a look at and release those worn-out relationship patterns that no longer serve us. We'll touch a little bit on addiction and healing. We'll look at those things that we've been addicted to that have, and people not just things, but also people that we've been addicted to that provide, that have provided us with ease and comfort in the past, but they no longer do that. Those things have become a source of pain and struggle. So we'll take a look at those and we'll look at healing from those addictions and we'll look at 12-step programs as one of the ways of healing. There are many different paths to healing from addiction. 12-step programs is just one of those We'll take a look at. I'll share a little of my experience, strength and hope. You'll receive lots of encouragement.
Speaker 1:Prayers Prayers are such a powerful tool for healing and there are so many prayers out there. There are the traditional prayers that we've heard all our lives, but there are these other little short prayers like help is a prayer. The word help is a prayer. So many other prayers serenity prayer, third step prayer, st Francis of Assisi prayer. There are so many prayers, so I'll share prayers that I've come across over the years.
Speaker 1:I'll give you some journal prompts, some questions to consider, declarations of truth, to begin to speak over your life. I'll also provide some recommended readings to further explore the topics that we're talking about. I'll do a little bit of spoken word. Yep, I do a little bit of the spoken word. We'll look at some poetry. There's so much richness and healing and information and spirituality and depth and knowledge and wisdom in poems. So we'll take a look at some poems and I'll share lots of music. Music is one of several pathways to healing for me.
Speaker 1:So this is not just a podcast, sisters. It's a pilgrimage home to you, back to who you Were Created to Be. It's a rhythm of revelation and a space where long-held questions about life and religion etc. Meets wisdom and biblical spiritual truth. In each episode there will be an invitation to pause and reflect and rise. We'll explore how intentional living, creativity and generational healing can shape a life of purpose, a life where you will use your gifts and talents to advance the kingdom of God and to be of service and to leave a legacy. You want to leave a legacy. You're going to leave a legacy which will remain long after you're gone. Each episode is an invitation to move into the abundant life that God has promised. So, whether you're in ministry, a leader in ministry, whether you're nurturing in a family, whether you're newly divorced or a single person, an empty nester, or rediscovering your voice, this podcast will offer you tools and teachings and testimonies to guide your journey.
Speaker 1:Just want to give you like a little sample of some of the topics that we'll cover. I mean, I have so many that have been given to me already and it's like wow, wow, wow, I have so many topics. Um, so like one of the topics is what does a covenant keeping god mean? Um, we'll look at the topic of what is salt and light and this ideal that we as um, as spiritual beings, are salt and light. We'll get the concept of the kingdom of God and what is kingdom, living? Is God's laws universal? We'll look at that. We'll explore some recovery wisdom as a spiritual architecture. We'll look at strategic silence and spirit-led leadership. We'll look at the attributes of God and the names of God Boy that blew me away, like all these different names that we have for God, g-o-d and we'll even look at where the word God originated from and then explore some of these different names of God.
Speaker 1:And then we'll look at one of the topics is God fruit, fruit of the spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Self-control is a fruit of the spirit. There's nine fruit, and we'll look at self-compassion and self-nurturance. That's one of the things that I have to continue to practice with myself is self-compassion. I'm good with giving other people, being compassionate with other people and having empathy and compassion for other people, and my creator has been teaching me and showing me how to have compassion for myself and also nurture myself. Some of us weren't nurtured as children and so as adults, needing to learn how to nurture ourselves. So self-compassion and self-nurturance, learning to rest and abide in grace, is another topic. And then the last topic not the last topic, I mean, but the last one we'll talk about here, because I have so many. I mean they've been like the Holy Spirit, the Creator has just been pouring these topics into me during my quiet time, during my time of meditation in the morning and throughout the day. So I just have so much. I'm grateful, really, really grateful. So let me introduce myself. I didn't introduce myself.
