The Bestie Space
How do you start becoming the real you?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Last episode, we asked the question: Who are you… really?
But what happens after that moment—
when you realize you’ve been living in roles… and you’re not quite sure who you are without them?
In this episode of The Bestie Space, Nicole walks you through what it actually looks like to begin becoming the version of yourself you’ve been craving—the one who feels more peaceful, confident, and fully aligned.
This is the in-between season.
And you’re not alone in it.
Inside this episode, you’ll learn how to:
- Recognize where you’re still defaulting to old survival patterns
- Use a simple but powerful question to guide your decisions
- Start shifting your identity through small, daily choices
- Stop abandoning yourself in the moments that matter most
This isn’t about becoming someone new overnight.
It’s about learning how to choose yourself—one honest moment at a time.
💛 Bestie Challenge:
Where in your life are you still choosing the version of you that survives… instead of the version of you that lives?

Welcome to the Bestie Space. I'm your host McCall, breakthrough guide, coach, and woman who knows what it's like to feel stuck, burned out, and in need of a friend. This podcast is your soft place to land and your strong place to rise. We're talking real life healing, emotional empowerment, and how to move forward when life feels like it cracked you open. So grab a coffee, take a deep breath, and listen in to some real talk, Bestie. I'm here for you. The who am I? Like, who am I really? And maybe, hopefully, something shifted for you. Maybe you realized that so much of who you've been was based on roles that you had to step into. The strong one, the dependable one, the one who holds everything together when there is chaos around you. And if you're being honest, maybe you also realized that you don't fully know who you are without those roles. That is me, where I am right now. I am doing the work just like I am challenging you to do the work. So if that is you, I want to start by saying something that I needed to personally hear. You are not behind. And Bestie, you are not broken, and you are definitely not alone. You are just in a season that not enough people talk about. So I want to talk about it because this in-between season is this space between who you've been and who you're becoming. And it can feel so uncomfortable and uncertain and stressful and even a little lonely because you don't want to go back to that old version, but you're also not fully grounded in the new one yet. So I have started to call this the in-between. And I want to talk about the in-between because there's a truth that we don't really share when we are doing kind of this healing work or this transformation. And most people think that transformation looks like this big dramatic shift. Like you just wake up one day and suddenly you're more confident and you're healed and you're fully aligned with who you're gonna be. Well, guess what? That's not how it freaking works. You don't become her overnight, you actually become this transformative person, this more aligned, this more healed person in these small, honest and often uncomfortable choices over and over again. So I want you to start paying attention to where you automatically fall back into those old patterns. So, where do you overgive or over-explain or say yes when you really just want to say no? Or when you are holding things in instead of speaking honestly. Those moments, that's your old identity trying to keep you safe. Not wrong, it's just familiar. And I wanted to do this episode because you're likely down this journey of you don't want to stay there, but what what do you do? So here's where it gets powerful. In those moments where you want to fall back to that familiarity, I want you to pause and ask yourself, what would the version of me that I'm becoming do right now? So, not the perfect version and not some unrealistic version, but the one that you described when you listened to the last episode, those three words, the the who you want to be when you peel back all those roles that have not been assigned to you. Um maybe you're the peaceful one, the confident one, the grounded one, the playful one. What would that person do? And then this is the hard part. I want you to try it. Even if it feels unfamiliar, even if it feels a little uncomfortable. So you don't need to change your whole life and you do not need to figure everything out. You just need to make one different choice. So maybe that looks like saying no without over-explaining yourself, or taking a break, a rest without feeling guilty. How about speaking honestly instead of just staying quiet? I don't want everybody to start acting unhinged and go off the rails, but if you feel strongly about something and your familiar role is to just kind of stay quiet and not actually share your opinion, maybe you speak up. Or how about maybe just doing something for you, not anybody else? Truly just something that brings you joy. Because those small moments, that is how our identity shifts. That's how we heal and we start this transformation. So I want you to hear this because this is so much, this is everything. You don't become her by doing something big once. You you don't become her by doing something big once. You become her by no longer abandoning yourself in the small moments. There's going to be times when you slip back where you choose the old version, where you fall into what is comfortable, that does not mean that you're failing. That means that you're freaking human. This is not about perfection. This is about awareness and choices that you deserve more. And I want you to ask yourself this today. I want you to reflect and and look at where in your life are you still choosing the version of yourself that survives instead of the version of yourself that is truly living. Just notice there's absolutely no judgment. I just want you to ask yourself that because Bessie, you are not starting over, you are not lost, you are learning how to meet yourself in a new way. And Bestie, that person is not as far away as you think they are. That person is in the next choice that you are going to make. If this episode spoke to you today, share it with someone who might be in that in-between season two.
