If you could have your way, if you could look back when you're 80 years old and look back on what you've created today, what would you be proud of? If I can just make enough to replace my W 2 income, I'll be good. The impact that you're creating is what your vision should be centered around. Modifying your vision as you build your business is so welcome to the Fuel Your Flow podcast. I am your host, Valerie Figali, physical therapist, turned software CEO and business coach for health and wellness coaches. We are going to be talking about all things health and business. They might be more closely related than you think. So let's go ahead and get into it. Welcome back. Today I want to talk about something that a lot of coaches and business owners think about when they first start their business, but then it gets pushed to the side. And when their business stops growing or plateaus, this should be one of the first things that they revisit. And it's their vision, the vision of the business. What does the business actually exist to do? And a lot of coaches forget to grow the vision while they are also growing the business. And these two things should go hand in hand because if the vision stays small, then the business also stays small. So if you're in your business and you're feeling like I've hit a plateau or growth just doesn't seem to be possible, no matter what I do, I feel like I'm grinding my wheels. I would suggest you go back to your vision and figure out well, is this vision serving me or is it really expansive and serving a larger audience? Because if the vision has been set up around your personal life, then your business is also going to stay kind of centered around that. And it's not going to grow in the way that perhaps you dreamed it would. So what I mean by this is that when we first get started, and this is what I did when I first got started with my business, is my vision was more about creating more time in my life, being able to set my own schedule, being able to work from any location. I would have liked to also make a little bit more money, right? These were the things that my vision was centered around. Rather than it being centered around who I help and the products that I have and what they actually do for people, how they change their lives, how they potentially change the world, right? And when I say change the world, I'm not talking about this big global thing that you're trying to create that everybody in the world is going to remember and talk about you for years to come. No, but you absolutely can have a massive impact, even if it's just on a few people's lives. But the impact that you're creating is what your vision should be centered around. So if your vision stays within your own, you know, personal lifestyle goals, you will hit a ceiling. It's going to feel like you've lost momentum, that you're just going through the motions. And that is simply just that glass ceiling of the vision. When the vision becomes expansive, we shift from what do I want for my life to what impact am I here to create? And that starts with the foundational question of what does your product actually do for people? How does it change somebody's life? What transformation does it create and for whom? And that is the vision of your business. So when you determine that I have this service, product, and when I say product, I don't mean a digital course or something, you know, physical that you're selling online. It could also be your coaching program, right? Even if it's a one-on-one coaching program or more of a service. This is what we're talking about. So whatever it is that you offer, the thing that you provide for people, the method behind it, what are you actually solving? What problem are you solving for your client? And how is their life changing because of what you did for them? And when you can determine how their life is changing and for whom it is changing, it might not only be them. It could also be if they are the head of a company. It could be that entire company that they're their own that's changing because of what you did for them. It could be that their entire family structure, their kids, their spouse are also having a different life experience because of what you did for that person. So what you want to think about is with my offers, what transformation am I providing? What is changing in this person's life? And who is it that it's changing for? What impact is it making and for whom? And so an example of this is when we first, when I first started the wellness vault, again, our vision was relatively small. Now, I had started my business years before that. And so my vision was growing a little bit as my business was growing. But it was still about, for me, it was about taking back a lot of my time because I didn't want to be on discovery calls and, you know, at eight o'clock at night trying to sell a high-ticket program. And I didn't want to have to be wondering what type of income was coming in every month. And so I started to transition more into a membership platform. And that's when, you know, I was able to have a more structured work schedule that I could create and that I was in control of. And I knew the profits that were coming in every month. And so there was that personal vision for me, but also the vision was to help coaches save time and make more money in their business. Now, even with that, the vision was too small there. And eventually we did hit a plateau. And I had to think deeper. I had to think what truly is going on here. So the wellness vault, what it is, it is a client success platform and a content hub for health and wellness coaches. And what it does for them is it helps the coach deliver better programs, stay organized, get better results for their clients, and have more time and freedom in their life and their business. So not only is it helping the coach, but it's making a tremendous web of impact on even the people that they are helping. So our help health coaches are then going on to be able to get their business up and running, to be able to bring in clients that they are helping make a transformation in their life, changing their health for an overall better, you know, global health. So the vision got bigger and bigger. It became this web that not only are we helping the coaches, you know, save time and make more money, but we're helping them deliver better programs. We're helping them get their clients better results. We are helping them keep their business open so that they can continue to help and serve other people so that their health, their clients' health is getting better and they have the opportunity to meet with someone and help them. So what we do now is way bigger than that. And with that, we come with a different energy. When I do a workshop, for example, it used to be about, okay, can I sell this product at the end of the workshop or how many people am I going to get on if it's a paid workshop? How much, you know, revenue are we going to drive from this workshop? And now it's not like that anymore. When I get on a workshop, I am there to serve. I want to make sure that the people on the back end, the participants of those workshops are getting a result, are getting value from coming, that their lives and the lives of the clients that they help are changing because of what I'm offering them during that training session. So I come with a different energy and it ripples through in every aspect of my business. And it will for you too. If you can find that vision, you're no longer just there to keep the business up and going. You're really there to make a true lasting impact for the people that you serve. And with that, everything changes. Not only the energy that you show up with for your trainings, your workshops, your coaching experience, all of that. But also when you go to market your business, I am way more comfortable now talking about my business because we have this bigger vision. And when I go to do any sort of collaboration or meet with somebody who maybe I'm asking to, you know, speak on their stage or speak in front of their audience. I come with a different passion and I can describe the vis the vision of the business in a way that people can really feel in a way that makes people want to work with me and want to also get that result. And so it changes everything about your business. It changes the partnerships that you're able to create, the collaborations that you're able to get into, the energy that you bring to your clients, the results that your clients actually get because of that, because you are truly showing up in a way of service, in a way to make sure that they have all the tools and all the resources that they need in order to, you know, get the result that you're promising them as a business owner. So changing your vision or modifying your vision as you build your business is so impactful. What I would recommend you do is go back to, you know, your whys. Why did you start this business? And again, if it's because I wanted to make more money or because I wanted a greater, uh better schedule, if that's your why, great. You you've gotten that far. Now you're you've started your business and you're off to the races with that. Now I want you to dig deeper. Like, what if you could have your way, if you could look back when you're 80 years old and look back on what you've created today, what would you be proud of? What type of business, what type of transformation for your clients would happen that you can, as your 80-year-old self, look back and be like, I am so happy that I spent my life doing that, that I dedicated so much time in my life building that for other people. So, what is it that you want to create? What transformation do you want to get for your clients and think big? Oftentimes coaches think really small, and I used to be this way too, is that they would say, you know, if I can just make enough to replace my W-2 income, I'll be good. That's what I used to think when I first started my business. And now I think on a way larger scale. And I know that I can have both. I know that I can both be in a place to serve and make sure that I am getting an incredible, making an incredible impact while also making money. You can have both of those things, but you have to create a bigger vision and a bigger dream if that truly is what you want. So if you're feeling stuck right now and it feels like you've hit that ceiling in your business, don't just look at your strategy, but go back and really evaluate your vision. Ask, is it big enough? Is it meaningful enough? Is it connected to something beyond just me? Because as your vision expands, everything else follows.
