Hello, all you beautiful people! This is Matt Marron Austin, Texas, welcoming you to this edition of the Texas All Sports Podcast, where we keep you posted on all the Texas Longhorns sports. 

hope you're well. And as we're going to look to do for you every Friday, we're going to bring you a weekday wrap up of the happenings of the week and take a look at what's on tap for the weekend. 

During this week, the Longhorns had three different sports in action on the court, on the water, and on the field. They included the number six ranked women's tennis and their penultimate match of the regular season, number two ranked women's rowing and their first of three dual matchups before the SEC championships, and number two men's baseball with a weekday non-conference game. 

We'll cover the sports in that order and after the weekday wrap, we'll take a look at what's on tap for this coming weekend. 

Starting with the number six women's tennis Thursday evening in Fayetteville, they took on the 51st ranked Arkansas Razorbacks. Texas went into the match 15 and five overall, 10 and three in conference play. They're tied for third place with Georgia, who's number one in the country. 

They're behind conference leader number two, Texas A &M, who is at 12 and one 

and number four ranked Auburn and number seven ranked Oklahoma who were both 11 and 2. The Horns were coming off a loss to number four Auburn in their last match. Arkansas was 12 and 11 overall, three and 10 in conference. They lost their last match against number 13 ranked Vanderbilt. 

And just so we're all on the same page, the setup is there are three doubles matches which are played at the same time. Whichever team wins two of the three matches gets one point. 

Then following completion of the doubles, there are six singles matches which are played concurrently. Each one of the singles matches is worth one point. 

So with the one point for doubles and the six points for singles, there's a total of seven points available and the first team to get the four wins. 

So, getting into doubles, in the first of the three matches, the doubles number one, Anastasia Abbagnato and Elizabeth Ionescu of the Horns, taking on Carolina Gomez Alonso and Annette Koskel of the Razorbacks. 

The Razorbacks won 6-4. Moving on to the second match, was Salma Dragova and Christasha McNeil of the Horns taking on Arina Babenko and Brooke Schaeffer of the Razorbacks. 

The Horns took that match 6-3. And in the third and final doubles match, was Eszther Meri and Mathilde Ngijol-Carre of the Horns taking on Jimena Gomez Alonso and Alexan Panagiotidou. 

The Horns took that 6-1 and 

And with that Texas took two of the three doubles matches that earned the doubles point and headed into singles play leaving 1-0. 

The horns lineup for the six singles matches included in the singles number one spot, number 12 ranked in the country, Anastasia Abbagnato, a freshman from Italy. 

and the singles number two spot, 50th ranked in the country, Eszther Meri a sophomore from Slovakia. 

Singles number three is Christasha McNeil, a freshman from Lindenhurst, New York. 

number four, Elizabeth Ionescu, a freshman from York, Pennsylvania. Singles number five, Mathilde Ngijol-Carre a freshman from France. And singles number six is Kate Mansfield, a freshman from England. 

Carmen Jurea, a sophomore from Romania, who is the number three ranked player in the country, had the night off for the horns. 

the singles results in order of finish. 

The first to finish was a singles number two. For 50th ranked Eszther Meri was playing Brooke Schaeffer and she won 6-1, 6-2 to give Texas the lead 2-0. 

Next to finish were singles number one, number 12 ranked Anastasia Abbagnato, who played number 34 ranked Carolina Gomez Alonso. Abbagnato won 6-3, 6-3 to give Texas the lead, 3-0. 

And the third match to finish was a singles number five, Mathilde Ngijol-Carre versus Arina Babenko 

Joel Carr won 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the match for Texas at 4-0. 

When the match was clinched, were still three other matches in play. Sometimes they finish them, sometimes they don't. This match, they did not finish them, 

let you know where the match is stood. In the singles number three position, was Christasha McNeil 

playing a net cost call. 

McNeil won the first set 6-3 and was up 5-3 in the second when the match stopped. 

singles number four was Elizabeth Ionescu, 

who was playing Alexan Panagiotidou She was up 6-3, 5-4 when they stopped. 

And in a singles number six match, was Kate Mansfield who was playing Jimena Gomez Alonso. She lost her first set 2-6, was up 4-3 in a second when they stopped. 

with the victory, Texas moved to 16-5 overall, 11-3 in conference. 

Arkansas is now 12 and 12 on a season, three and 11 in conference. The horns have a big match up this Saturday and we'll touch on that a bit later. 

From the court, move on to the water where the number two ranked women's rowing team took on number 24 ranked Indiana on Thursday. They were on Lake Lemon, which is about 12 miles from the IU campus. 

The races are taking place in two types of boats. There's the eight and the four. The eight just means there are eight rowers. The four just means there are four rowers. Both of them are using a coxswain. A coxswain is kind of like a captain. So they're sitting at the back of the boat. They're not rowing, but they're steering the boat. They're helping the team with the cadence and helping to employ the race strategy. 

On Thursday, there were five races total. All of them were 2,000 meters in length. There were three races with eight rover boats and two races with four rover boats. 

We'll start with the three eight-rower boat races. 

In boat one, Texas rode to a time of six minutes, 35.5 seconds, beating Indiana by 22 seconds. Boat two, Texas rode six minutes, 51.7 seconds, beating Indiana's second boat by 27 seconds. 

And in boat three, Texas rode seven minutes, 14.3 seconds to beat Indiana by 16 seconds. 

Moving on to the fours, boat one, Texas road seven minutes, 34.7 seconds, winning by 38 seconds. And boat two, Texas road seven minutes, 50.2 seconds, beating Indiana by 29 

won each of the races, tallying a five-nothing victory. They're gonna be back in action Saturday, and we'll cover that a bit later. But now we'll move on to the field where the number two ranked men's baseball team took on Incarnate Word University of San Antonio 

Tuesday at Disch-Falk Field. 

The Longhorns went into the game 26-5 overall, coming off a 2-1 series win over South Carolina. The Cardinals went in 16-16, coming off a 2-1 series loss to Southeastern Louisiana. 

The Horns went with a lineup of Atcatcher, Andrew Ermis at first base, Ashton Larson in his first start at first base, second base, Ethan Mendoza, shortstop, Temo Becerra, third base, Casey Borba, left field, Anthony Pack Jr., center field, Aiden Robbins, right field, Jayden Duplantier, and D.H.ing as Carson Tinney. 

On the mound for the horns was Kade Bing, a junior lefty from West, Texas. In his first start of the season, his record going in was 

He had a 10.80 ERA and three and one third innings of work with two strikeouts and one walk. On the mound for Incarnate Word was Matthew Foley, who's a junior righty from Cedar Park 

It was his eighth appearance, second start. His record was 0-1-1, 

13.5 ERA in eight innings. He had 9Ks and 11 watts. 

Getting into the game, the Bobcats got a two out walk but nothing else in the top of the first. In the bottom of the first, Ethan Mendoza led off with a double off the wall in right center. Carson Tinney earned a walk. They stole second and third before an Aiden Robbins strikeout. And with Anthony Pack Jr. at the plate, a wild pitch scored Ethan Mendoza from third to make it 1-0. And then Anthony Pack Jr. hit a ground out to first base. 

which scored Carson Tinney to make it 2-0. That was the end of the scoring in the first. 

At the top of the second, Bing got the Cardinals out 1-2-3 on 8 pitches. 

In the bottom of the second, the Cardinal sent in a release picture of a junior righty 

named Emir Encalada from Laredo, Texas. 

When the ending started off with an Ashton Larson walk, Andrew Ermish was then hit by a pitch and Jayden Duplantier had a bump single to load the bases with nobody out. Ethan Mendoza grounded out the shortstop which scored Ashton Larson to make the score 3-0. 

Carson Tinney then earned a walk, Aiden Robbins struck out, 

And again, with Anthony Peck Jr. at the plate, it was a wild pitch. That scored Andrew Ermis from third base and made it 4-0, Horns 

Pack Jr. then walked the low to bases again with two outs. And the Cardinals sent in another relieved pitcher was Jose Bludau, a senior variety from Sealy, Texas. 

Casey Borba greeted him with a double down the left field line to score Jayden Duplantier and Carson Tinney. Then a shortstop mishandled a throw in and Anthony Pack Jr. was able to score. Three runs on a play to make it 7-0. 

Then, Temo Becerra reached on an infield single to first base, and Ashton Larson had a bunt single to score Casey Borba 

making it 8-0 and rounding off the scoring for the bottom of the second.

And that was followed by a line drive to center field where an Aiden Robbins error allowed a run to score to make it 8 to 1. 

Next was a ground-out shortstop to score another run to make it 8-2. 

The Horns went to the bullpen to bring in relief pitcher Hudson Hamilton, a junior right-hander from Spring, Texas, his seventh appearance on the season, 

0-0 record, 

seven strikeouts, four walks with an ERA of 5.06 and five and one-third innings pitched. 

Hamilton struck out the first batter, but then gave up an RBI double to the wall on right center to make it 8-3 before getting a fly out the right field to end the inning. 

The bottom of the third began with a Jayden Duplantier A strike out, followed by an Ethan Mendoza walk, a Carson Tinney infield single to shortstop, 

Then Aiden Robbins walked to load the bases. Anthony Pack Jr. came through with a line drive single to center field that was mishandled, scoring all three runners on base. 

That made the score 11-3 Texas. 

Next was the Casey Borba walk and the Cardinals brought in relief pitcher Rand Green, our freshman righty from Weatherford, Texas. 

The first batter he faced was Temo Becerra, who singled to left field, scoring Anthony Pack Jr. and making it 12-3. 

Ashton Larson walked to lower the bases before Andrew Ermis was hit by a pitch to score Casey Borba and make it 13-3. 

Incarnate Word didn't like the way it was going, so they brought in another relief picture, Hayden Capers, a sophomore writing from Leander. 

Then, Jayden Duplantier drew a walk to force in Temo Becerra from third and make it 14-3 Texas. Ethan Mendoza then grounded to short for an inning-inning double play to end the bottom of the third. 

In the top of the fourth, Incarnate Word got a two out single, but nothing else going. And in 

Carson Tinney led off the bottom of the fourth with a big shot to left center for a home run to make it 15-3 Texas. After the home run though, the horns went down 1-2-3. 

start off the top of the fifth, the horns brought in relief pitcher Ethan Walker, a junior lefty from Ashburn, Virginia. It's his 13 appearance of the year. He has a one-on-one record, an ERA of 1.93 in nine and one-third innings with nine strikeouts and two walks. 

He got a ground out to second base, a foul pop up to third base, but then gave up a double to left field followed by an RBI single to center field and it was 15-4 Texas before he got a ground out to third base for the third out. 

In the bottom of the fifth, the horns got a two out bloop single from Andrew Ermis but weren't able to get him through the play. 

In the top of the sixth, the Hornsbottom in another pitcher, Max Grubbs, a senior righty from Arlington, Texas, his 13th appearance, 2-0 record, 4.34 ERA, 19 strikeouts, 9 walks, and 18 and two-thirds innings at work. He struck out the first two batters he faced before giving up the double to left center, but then got a ground out to third base for the third out. 

in the bottom of the sixth. Incarnate Word sent up another relief pitcher, Tanner Crispin, a freshman righty from Dallas. 

Ethan Mendoza greeted him with a home run over the Yeti yard in left field to lead off the inning and make it 16 to four Texas. The Horns went down one, two, three thereafter. 

In the top of the seventh, the horn sent relief pitcher Brody Walls, a Freshman Reidy from McKinney, Texas, to the mound for his eighth appearance. 

a record of 1-0 with a 6.57 ERA and 12 and 1 third innings, 17 strikeouts and 5 walks. 

Walls got the Cardinals to fly out the left field, then fly out the center field, and then fly out the right field to get the Cardinals 1-2-3 to end the inning and end the game. 

The final was Texas 16 runs on 11 hits with one error and Incarnate Word 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 errors. By the horns they had 5 pitchers combined for 7 innings pitched, 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. 

Hudson Hamilton got the win his first of the season to make him 1-0. There were two home runs for the Horns, Ethan Mendoza hit his 8th and Carson Tinney hit his 11th. Anthony Pack Jr. had three RBIs for the game and Casey Borba played a really nice game defensively at third base. The Horns are now 27-5 on the season and the Cardinals are now 16-17. 

the teams that were in action during the week. Now let's take a look at what's on tap for this coming weekend. And we'll start with number four ranked women's softball, who has a huge home series hosting the number two ranked seniors of Oklahoma. Texas is 32 and four, nine and three in conference. They're tied for second with number three ranked Alabama. 

OU is 38-3 on the season, 11-1 and alone in first place in the conference. 

Texas comes in with a two game losing streak, having lost 2-3 last weekend to then number four ranked Alabama. Oklahoma comes in on a five game winning streak. They run ruled Kentucky in all three games of their series last weekend. 

It's a big weekend series for both the conference and the national softball landscapes. All the games are at McCombs Field on Comal Street. First game is Friday at 6 PM. You can watch it on ESPN2. 

Saturday, 7 p.m. start on ESPN and Sunday, a 1 p.m. start also on ESPN. 

Sticking to the diamond and sticking to playing rivals, number 2 ranked men's baseball will be in college station for a 3 game series against the number 18 ranked Texas A&M Aggies. 

And ⁓ my, it'll be Coach Jim Sloss Nagle's first trip back to College Station since making the move from the Aggies dugout to the Longhorns dugout. I imagine it'll be quite an atmosphere there at Bluebell Park. 

Texas going into the game, 27-5 overall, 9-3 in the SEC. They're in second place, one game behind, number four going to Georgia, who's at 10-2. 

Texas A &M has 25 and 7 overall. There's 7 and 5 on conference. 

Texas is coming off taking 2-3 from unranked South Carolina and a Tuesday win over Incarnate Word. Texas A ⁓ is coming off taking 2-3 from unranked Vanderbilt last weekend and a loss to Texas State on Tuesday. The Horns are looking for the sweep not only to put it to the Aggies but to keep pace with Georgia who plays number 26 Florida this weekend. The games are Friday 7pm on the SEC Network, Saturday 2pm. 

on ESPN2 Sunday 1 p.m. on SEC Network Plus. 

and from the Diamond and College Station will move back to the court in Austin where the number one ranked men's tennis team is hosting number 18 Florida at the Texas Tennis Center. 

Men's tennis is 20 and 6 overall, 11 and 2 in conference, currently in first place, one match ahead of the number 6 ranked Mississippi State and number 8 ranked Texas A 

Florida is 14 and 11 overall, 5 and 7 in conference. 

The horns will be led by 

the number three ranked player in the country, Sebastian Gorzny the number 32 ranked player in the country, Kalin Ivanovski the number 41 ranked player in the country, Sebastian Eriksson and the number 109 ranked player in the country, Abel Forger Florida will be led by the number 69 ranked Henry Jefferson, 91st ranked Jeremy Jin 

Ganesan. 

It's the final match of the regular season for the Horns and a chance to secure the SEC regular season championship as we head into the SEC tournament next weekend. 

that are playing Friday at 6 p.m. You can catch the match in person at the Texas Tennis Center or stream it via the Longhorns Athletics website. 

Keeping it to the tennis court, number 6 ranked, women's tennis, will be at number 7 ranked, Oklahoma, in their last match of their regular season as well. 

Texas has 16-5 overall, 11-3 in conference. 

22-4 overall, 12-2 in conference. 

OU just beat the number two team in the country, Texas A 4-1, and Norman Thursday evening. 

You can look for Texas to be led by the number three ranked player in the country, Carmen Herea number 12 ranked, Anastasia Abbagnato, and the 50th ranked, Eszther Meri. For Oklahoma, they have the number 10 ranked, Evialina Laskovich, number 54 ranked, Edda Mamedova and number 64 ranked, Julia Garcia Ruiz. 

The match is Saturday at high noon. 

Also Saturday, in their second of three dual matches before the SEC Championships, number two ranked Women's Rowing will take on number 19 ranked Michigan and Ann Arbor on Belleville Lake. 

The first race will be at 7.45 a.m. Central 

and the plan is for six races, four head-to-head races for eight-person boats and two head-to-head races for four-person boats. 

From rowing, we'll move to track and field, where after strong, strong performances at the Texas Relays in Austin last weekend, both the men's and women's teams have shot up the national rankings. 

The men moved from number 16 all the way up to number two. And if that's not good enough for you, the women moved up from number 44 all the way to the number one ranking in the country. A smaller contingent of the team will be at the 44 Farms team invitation this weekend. It's hosted by Texas A &M and College Station, and there'll be 35 teams at the meet. 

In addition to all those teams that are in season, there are a couple fall sports that are playing some springtime events as well. First is women's volleyball, who this spring played in a tournament and Saturday will be playing their second of three matches. That's against the TCU Horned Frogs at the recreational sports center on campus, 1 p.m. on Saturday. And women's soccer will be playing their third of four springtime games against UTSA. 

at Mike A. Myers Stadium, also at 1 p.m. on Saturday. 

Now that we've touched on the sports that are in action this weekend, let's take a moment to recognize the Longhorns that have received recognition this week. 

First, for women's basketball, we have Madison Booker, the junior from Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was named the Cheryl Miller National Small Forwarder of the Year. 

In men's track and field, have Kendrick Smallwood, senior from Dallas, his SEC Co-Runner of the Week. He posted the fastest time in the nation so far in the 110 meter hurdles running 13.16. 

And onto women's track and field, we Tabea Eitel, a sophomore from Germany who was the co-field athlete of the week. She set a personal record and the top mark in the country so far in the heptathlon with 5,648 points. 

and also Abigail Wolfe a freshman from Jamaica. She was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. She ran the second fastest 100 meter time in the country and also ran on 4x100 and 4x400 relays that finished first and second respectively at the Texas relays. 

Next, we move to women's rowing, where Abby Dawson, a senior from London, England, was named SEC Rower of the Week. And Leila Gaston, a freshman from Sydney, Australia, was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. 

And finally, with men's baseball, we have Anthony Peck Jr., a freshman from Lakewood, California, who was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. 

And before we sign off, just a quick reminder that it's now been 917 days since Oklahoma last scored a touchdown against the Texas Longhorns. 

With that being said, we'd to congratulate the Seven Longhorns who are in the conference and national awards this week and to wish good luck to all eight of the teams in action this weekend.
