"Have You Always Been Like This?" — The Truth About Natural Power & Bold Business Growth
Six years ago I was sitting on my couch, unable to get up — deep in a burnout that brought me to my knees. Today I'm launching the program that reflects everything I've rebuilt since then: Uncensored Power.
In this episode, I take you inside that journey and get honest about something most business advice skips entirely: it's not another strategy that moves the needle in your business — it's the identity you're leading from. I break down the four stages that took me from rock bottom to running a business from real, natural power: reclaim, create, embody, express.
This one's for the version of you who has big vision, who's been shrinking it, second-guessing it, or looking outside yourself for permission to go after it.
What You'll Learn
⚡ Why power — not another strategy, funnel, or tactic — is the actual fuel behind your business results
⚡ Why being out of your power in business rarely looks dramatic — it's overthinking every offer, needing external validation, and making yourself smaller to stay likeable
⚡ The four stages of Uncensored Power: reclaim, create, embody, express — and why skipping straight to "louder" doesn't work
⚡ How your inner world becomes a mirror for your outer reality — and what that means for how clients, sales, and leadership actually land in your business
⚡ Why I don't believe in pain-point marketing, and what selling from power looks like instead
⚡ The moment I knew the transformation was real: "Have you always been like this?"

This episode is a very special one. It is an episode for the younger version of me six years ago, but it's also for everybody else who has a big vision, bigger than most people can even understand. And you know that you are here to build something freaking meaningful. It's also for that version of you that maybe has shrinked that vision sometimes. Second guessing your ideas, looking outside of yourself for validation, overworking to prove that it's possible, or even censoring the very parts of you that make you powerful. And if you feel ready for more certainty, more self-trust, more self-expression, and feeling deeply connected to the version of you that is in your power and that builds a business from that place, that creates impact from that place, that lives a life from a place of power. This episode is for you. Welcome to the Bold Expansion Podcast. You are here because you know your business is meant for more. I'm your host, Ame Drost, and this is where you'll learn how to make more money, create transformational offers, and step into your truth as a leader. Through premium strategy, identity work, and my signature method, Millionaire Breath Work. Each week you'll get the strategy and the shifts to expand your wealth, your impact, and your freedom. This is Bold Expansion. Are you ready? This month feels like a turning point for me. There's always something really special about the month of August. I am a Leo. It is summer. Wherever I'm at in the world, the sun is always shining, and I thrive on sun. Those of you who've been here for a while, you know that I choose to live in places that are sunny in Portugal, Tenerife. I've gone to Bali. I'm in the Netherlands now, and it is sunny. So I love the sun, it gives me life force, but that is not what I want to talk with you about today. I am here because this is a turning point in my career. I have been building up to this moment where I've been seeing the shift happen slowly in front of me, and this is the point where I draw a line in the sand and stepped over it because I just launched my new program. And this new program is everything. It is the moment where the student becomes the teacher. And I've had this moment many times, but this one feels very special because it really feels like a homecoming. I've lived for the last six plus years this story. From the depth of burnout and depression towards rebuilding myself, reclaiming my power to levels I didn't even know existed. Up until the point that the last couple of years I've heard the question more often have you always been like this? This? And when you get that question, you know that a big part of the transformation has been completed. And I truly believe that a bunch of you right now are listening to this and you recognize what I'm saying in this about me. You've been following me, you've been feeling this. Oh my god, she has this natural leadership, she has this sense of power, and it's possible for her, but not for me. And trust me, I've been there. I've been on the sidelines looking at others, thinking, oh my god, they have something I don't. And the truth is, they probably have. I probably have. But also, it is also alive in you. It's not that you don't have that thing, it's that it's buried underneath other shit. And that's the conversation I want to have with you today. And that is the program that I'm launching right now. And we'll talk a little bit about the program at the end of this episode. So if you want to continue this type of work or deepen this type of work with me, then you are very much invited at the end of this episode. But for you to understand where I am today and why I am capable of sharing this magic with you, I want to go back to six years ago where I was at the lowest of the lowest in my life so far, which was a very deep burnout that brought me on my knees, or quite literally it brought me to the couch in my living room for one and a half years, where I was sitting every single day, or at least the days that I was able to drag myself out of my bed into the living room. And after one and a half years of being miserable, feeling sorry for myself, questioning the point of living, there was this sitting pouch in the couch where you could clearly see that someone had been sitting there for a long freaking time, and it was so confrontating. I'm laughing now, but I was crying almost every single day in that moment, in that time of my life. And right now I'm launching a new program. It's called Uncensored Power. It's two different worlds. It's a world that feels so far away from me those six years ago. But if you ask me, have I always been like this, the answer is very clear. No. And this episode is a little love note to my old self, and especially because of the contrast of where I'm now and all the steps in between where I chose to become who I am today. Because it's very intentional how I hold myself these days. It's still very authentic, it is truly me, it's my inner power, but I wasn't always like this. I didn't always allow myself to be like this. So in 2019, 2020, it was also COVID, I think most of you still remember. So the world was kind of silent, but my world, my inner world, almost didn't exist. Or maybe that's not true. It was actually very loud. There were a lot of loud voices, a lot of limiting beliefs, and also actual constrictions because my body gave up on me, because I had not been listening to my body. For me, it started with a really deep burnout, and the burnout as the months passed by didn't get better, and I didn't get treated for it. But looking back on it, reflecting on it, I'm pretty sure I was severely depressed as well. Myself to be but I had such a strong identity around not being depressed that I didn't accept that part. And I think this is actually one of the things that saved me from spiraling down even further. So, in these six years, why did I not give up in those moments that it was so hard? The main reason was that there's always been this tiny flame. Even through all the shitstorm, all the negative spiraling, all the thinking, is this actually worth it? Will I ever get out of it? Even though I was pretty young. I think I was like 25. Of course I had a whole life ahead of me, but it didn't feel like that at the time. And whether you've experienced burnout or depression or had your own Dark Knight of the Soul moments, or just moments where you weren't in your power. It is so easy to just give up. But we are human, we have life force in us. We have this urge, this desire to be alive. And that's the little flame I'm talking about. Even though there were really loud voices of this didn't work out, let's just give up. There was still this really strong voice. Even though it was buried underneath all the other voices that was saying, Hey, you're not even halfway yet. Myself to be, you have so much more to live for. You're here to do something extraordinary. And knowing what I know now, of course, there had to be contrast. Because if I wasn't able to feel the depths of those pains, I wasn't able to feel the highs where I am today. And I had so much to learn in those days as well about everything that I'm gonna teach you now, because it's been such a conscious choice to choose power over pain. Myself to be, and if you've been following me as a business coach, you know that this is even one of the things that I teach, one of the principles. I don't believe in pain point marketing, bullying people on the internet to make them buy your offers. I believe in power, not just in your inner power and your personal power, but I also believe in marketing, in power. So, what does it mean when you are out of power? Because it's not gonna look like a burnout or a depression for everybody. Being out of your power can look like needing external validation to know what you want, overthinking every decision, abandoning yourself when someone disapproves, making yourself smaller to keep belonging in a group, letting fear dictate your choices, numbing your desires because wanting more feels dangerous, confusing surrender with passitivity, confusing productivity with being alive and aliveness, constantly thinking what should I do instead of what do I know? Having a huge vision, but not having the internal capacity to stand behind it. But when you're in your power, you are trusting yourself, your inner world, your inner knowing, your intuition. You're willing to disappoint people because it's okay, it's part of the game. You cannot always please everyone. Myself to be choosing from desire instead of fear, allowing yourself to want more without feeling guilt or shame around it, letting other people misunderstood you without immediately correcting yourself. It is safe to be misunderstood. Acting before you have a perfect certainty, being the one that goes first, being brave, feeling fear without handing it the steering wheel, walking with the fear, running with the fear, having a relationship with your own body, your intuition, your standards, your truth, being able to surrender while still taking radical responsibility, becoming someone who can hold the life she says she wants. Myself to be power isn't about becoming untouchable, it's about becoming less willing to abandon yourself. When I envision power, I envision your spine on fire, your backbone, really having your own back, having this internal source of energy, of power, and not to hurt anybody else. It's not an energy of force, it's not an energy of you need to be exactly like me or else, or I'm dominating you or else. Not that type of power. But this type of power is the type of leadership when you walk into a room. When you walk into a room and people notice, they turn their hats, they feel your frequency even before you say a word. And I know that you have felt this with people. Maybe you've even felt it inside of you. The moment when you walk into a room and you own it, not to take it away from anybody else, but by bringing your frequency in the room. One of my mentors says, Yes, I can read the room, and I choose to elevate it. And this is so powerful because we tend to shrink ourselves towards being a version that fits into the room. But what if you didn't need to fit in? But you could be the person elevating the room. You didn't need to wait for anybody else to bring in their energy, to hype the place up, to shift the energy. You can be that version. And it comes from internal power, but it shifts towards external power. Myself to be because what happens inside of you, your inner world, your inner reality, reflects what happens outside. You are a mirror for the world, and a world is a mirror for you. You create your own reality, and this gives you back so much power when you start to understand this game. This is actually what I created with uncensored power, because I became obsessed with this question. What makes us leave ourselves? And how do we come back? Especially in those dark days where I was trying to heal myself, but along the journey, I kept being curious. I kept wanting more for myself. When I was sitting on that couch, feeling miserable and sorry for myself and feeling weak, not just in my mind, but in my body. It took me years to recover from that place. Myself to be, but I kept playing with this promise to myself, this belief of I'm not just gonna heal back to who I was before, because that version of me didn't exist anymore. I made a promise to myself to heal beyond the pain, to spiral up, to live my best life, to feel so freaking alive. Because what is this life about myself to be? Yes, I believe in spirituality, I believe in energy, I believe in things that we cannot see. But I also believe in that we chose this path to be human, and with that comes the whole range of that. Our emotions, our feelings, our thoughts. I don't believe that we all need to just lower ourselves in our emotions into our heart space and only live there. Yes, the heart space is so freaking important and powerful there. There's a lot of power there, and in the belly, there's so much in our whole system. I really see and view our body, our human body, as this community, this collective place that creates me. And this version of me, I also love my head, my thoughts, who I'm choosing to be, myself to be. I love the people in my life. I love the human experience of tasting food. There's so much that I love about this life. Do I sometimes forget? Yes, I'm human. You know that saying? So even though I choose to elevate my life, my lifetime, to make the most out of this finite life because we're all gonna die at some point, and I want to fully live this experience. Even though I choose to live to my fullest, I still have my human things, my human systems, my somatic system, my lymphatic system, my health, all those things also impact how I feel. It's not just a decision, but it's a collective decision of the community of my body that is called MA. I've never explained it out loud with these words, but for the last three, four years, this definition has lived inside of me. So it feels very freeing to say this, to share this, but it needs more context for sure. I have looked at all different areas of myself to see how can I improve myself, even from the unhealthy point of I'm not good enough, and from the point of I am good enough, I deserve this, I deserve to take care of myself. And it's such a different approach. So when I'm talking uncensored power, there's four stages that I have identified within my own journey the last six years for myself to be uncensored power is a combination of your inner power, your personal power, and what you choose to do with that. So the four stages of this transformation are it's not just about being louder, it's about reclaiming the parts of you that you got conditioned out, like you got programmed out, consciously choosing who you become, building the capacity to embody that version of you, and then letting the world actually feel it. Myself to be inner power is beautiful if you just feel it within, but if you don't share it with the world, you're missing the point. So, uncensored power, the first step is reclaim. This is the part I call who is driving your bus. And this will make more sense when you join the program. What beliefs, fears, conditioning, old identities, and other people's voices are making your decisions? Where are you giving your power away? How can you take it back? Creating awareness, creating change. Number two is create. Who are you choosing to become? Once you recognize what isn't truly yours, you get to consciously choose what you believe, how you interpreted your reality, and who you become next. Myself to be number three, embody. Can you hold your power? Can you truly hold your power? Can you feel it? Can you share it? Is it alive in your system, in your aura, in your frequency? Can your nervous system and physiology actually hold more visibility, money, leadership, desire, boundaries, and expansion without pulling you straight back towards the familiar? Myself to be that is when you create infinite possibilities. Number four, express the last point, but maybe this is the whole point. Can the world feel your magic? Can you stop censoring your point of view, your desire, your leadership, and your gifts so that other people can actually experience you? If you want to join uncensored power, send me the word power on Instagram. Right now it's 21 euros only, which is only one euro a day. And yes, I am going to over-deliver. We're gonna do 21-day drops of trainings to activate your power. Every day you will feel a different truth that will help you shift into your most powerful self. We have four live sessions. Three of those are activations. There will be short breath works, there will be knowing and truth and this framework being broken down for you. The first day is reclaim your power. The second day is be the creator. And then the third is remember who the F I am, which is a full-on millionaire breathwork experience worth the whole investment on its own. The results my clients have had with just one breathwork session is insane. Breaking through income ceilings, selling their first 23,000 offer right after a breathwork session, feeling their power, feeling their truth. Because breathwork is not about forcing my ideas onto you, it's about activating your inner power, your truth, your unique truth. And then the grand finale of this program, fall in love with marketing. The final power activation. This power activation is so close to my heart because I love marketing. That's why I'm a business mentor. I love marketing. It is about communicating. And I hear this so often from the moment I started being a business coach for Dutch yoga teachers up until this point that being in my space, my enthusiasm, my excitement around marketing, around sales, it rubs off. And I want to explain why I believe so deeply in marketing. So these four steps will help you reclaim, create, embody, express. I am so excited to share this program with you. It is truly coming from my heart to yours. And I really don't see how you can go through this program and stay the exact same person that you are today. It's just impossible. Your old self is not going to pass the vibe check. Be prepared to let old versions of you die. Even versions that you thought were meant to stay with you.
