Unleashed on Purpose
In celebration of CBU’s 75th anniversary, this series is designed to inspire you to live out your God-given purpose—whether at work, in your community, or among family and friends.
At CBU, purpose isn’t just part of the student experience—it’s a lifelong journey rooted in faith and aligned with the Great Commission.
Each episode spotlights members of the CBU community who are boldly living out that calling—serving, leading, and making an impact around the world.

The Unleashed on Purpose podcast is designed to help you learn how to live your purpose at work, in your community and with your family and friends. At California Baptist University, we are committed to helping our students, faculty and staff identify and live their purpose, and we’re trying to bring a little wisdom and insight from that and share it with you.
Today’s guest is Rebecca Hickman. Rebecca has worked at CBU for two years in the Department of Community Life. Community Life, or Comm Life for short, exists to enhance our student’s college experience through purposeful activities.
Prio to joining CBU, Rebecca worked for over 20 years with a non-profit Christian Ministry called The Traveling Team, mobilizing thousands of university students across the country to embrace God’s global purpose for their lives. Rebecca volunteers at her church in the Early-Childhood and Global Prayer ministries.
