Thank you for joining us these 30 episodes. Today we end with the most important message of all. Knowing how we belong to the Good Shepherd, Jesus and become born again.
Good morning. Welcome to episode 30 of our Miracle Stories podcast. My name is Katie. This is my husband Wayne. It's hard to believe you guys that it's already been 30 episodes of this podcast. And so we're coming to a close after this one. It's been an amazing journey. I really have had a really fun time just going down memory lane with you, honey, and just remembering all of the miracles that we've seen Jesus do. And actually, there's a number of miracles that we haven't talked about on this podcast as well. So I don't know, maybe one of these days somehow we'll maybe we'll be able to share some of them. But for those of you who are just joining us for the first time, please you guys do look look back in the archives and find all of those other episodes because I do think that you'll be very, very blessed and encouraged. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So for God be glorified.
SPEAKER_03God would be glorified. So today we're going to be sharing probably the most important message that we could possibly share to finish this series with. You know, all of the things that you've heard over the last 30 episodes, all of these months would never, ever, ever have been possible without Jesus. Wade and I are nothing special. There's nothing special about us. The only thing that is special about us is that we are filled by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus got God made us, that he loves us, and that we are indwelt, you know, with his power. And um, by the grace of God, we've we've heard his voice and we've obeyed. And really that's that's about it. So today I'm gonna hand this episode over to Wade just to share with us the most important thing that you could possibly hear.
SPEAKER_00Well, we're gonna share a couple of testimonies first.
SPEAKER_03That's true. Oh, right, okay.
SPEAKER_01Because we want to be true to um what the whole podcast is about, but it is the greatest miracle that we're gonna end up with. Um, but yes, so we just are so appreciative of you joining us over these weeks, and it's been a blessing to have this time uh together to be able, as Katie said, to recount, and I honor her for um her desire to do this. That was her idea to say, let's let's make a podcast talking about it. And it I know it stemmed from your anoxic brain injury that you were like, uh listen, there's not as there's not enough testimonies online that are there to encourage people that God's doing great things. And and that was part of our prayer was that God would use this to provoke others to share their testimonies because um she's right, there's a lot of negativity, there's a lot about what the enemy is doing, but we need to really be boasting of what the Lord is doing, yeah. And he is doing awesome things.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, with ordinary people like us.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_03You don't have to be a superstar to see God work in your life. You can just be an absolutely ordinary person who just is depending on our extraordinary God.
SPEAKER_01Well, that that's exactly what the word of God says. He chooses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, the strong, the weak to confound the strong and the things that are nothing, to nullify the things that are. And so, yes, that's that's the way of the Lord. I think about Matthew 10, Jesus saying, I thank you, Father, that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes, for even so it seemed good in your sight. And so the Lord is faithful, um, and he does show his power through our weakness. Yeah. And that's what we want to confess. It's definitely his strength, his power, not our own. So um I thought, you know, we were thinking about the kind of a theme of this last podcast, and I'm gonna have Katie in a moment uh just read here the scripture. That's gonna be kind of our basis and our foundation for today's podcast, hearing the voice of God. So if Kate, if you could read those verses in John 10.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. So I'm gonna read John 10, verses 1 through 5. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up by some other way, the same as a thief and a robber. But he that entreth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hears his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice, and a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him, for they know not the voice of the stranger. I'm gonna pick up in verse eleven. I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep, but he that is a hireling and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf catches them and scatters the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling and cares not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the father knows me, and even so know I the father, and I lay down my life for the sheep, and other sheep I have which are not of this fold, them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believe not. The works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me, but you believed not, because you are not of my sheep. As I said unto you, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
SPEAKER_01So, what an a tr what a tremendous truth, first of all, that Jesus is the good shepherd. And he contrasts, of course, to hireling, those who pretend to be watching over people's lives, but are not the true Good Shepherd. And when danger comes, when hardship comes, uh they flee. But the Good Shepherd remains to protect. And he's proven his love, that he's laid down his life for his sheep. But one of the things that Katie read from John 10 is this beautiful truth and promise that his sheep hear his voice. And that's our um hope. And we want you to make sure that by the end of this podcast that you know that you know that you belong to the Good Shepherd and that you hear his voice also, because it is about relationship and not a format a form of religion, which is what we want to address. So let me give you a couple testimonies to encourage you to give glory to God uh concerning hearing the voice of God. We were living in Guinea-Bissau, and we were receiving our first class for the discipleship school there in Monsoa. Super exciting, a lot of preparation went into that, and the Lord handpicked uh these amazing men of God to come and to live three months on this campus and to basically live life together in community from morning until night, and work duty, outreach, fasting, prayer, teaching. Um it was just an amazing time. I don't know how far into the school was, it might have been about halfway or a little more than halfway. We were actually talking about dreams and how a third, basically, maybe about a third of our lives are spent sleeping. And so, why wouldn't God want to redeem that time if we allow him? He has a choice, obviously, if he wants to or not. Um, but being open and even asking, Lord, if you want to speak to me through dreams, I'm open that I can receive anything or pray into anything with me to do. And so we were talking about that, and one night, one of the students, um, Abel, dear man of God, he had a dream, a very vivid dream, where I was driving all my way from Monsoa to the capital, uh, Bissau, and my front tire came off in the dream, and there were two people on the side of the road, and I hit them. And uh he woke up out of this dead sleep and felt a real ominous feeling of like, I need to pray, I need to pray now for this. And he was faithful to pray into it, and he actually told the class and told us about it, I believe the next day in school, and I was like, Wow, that's crazy, but didn't really even think about much beyond that, other than I appreciated his response to go right into prayer and not just to like shrug it off. Amen. And not and not not be in fear, but also to say, be prompted, like, I need to pray for this. This this felt very vivid and very real.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so a few days later, yeah, I'm driving to Bissau and my front tire comes off, begins to come off, and I begin to lose control of the truck, and there's two people on the side of the road. Yes, and I and I did not have control of the vehicle, but but the Lord did. And as the car is veering towards these two people, the Lord enabled that truck not to hit those people, but to go further past them. And uh, and I remember just stopping and just being in shock and in awe. The way that the truck was handled, it was clearly the divine intervention. I I did not feel that it was me, it was the Lord preventing a direct hit, and that was a direct answer to Abelle's prayers.
SPEAKER_03It was that the screw was stripped, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the screws and the tire, the tire was coming off. And um, but please tell me how what are the chances of a dream a few days before being the exact same scenario that I lived, and then how the Lord intervened supernaturally. What if Abel had not prayed? Um it could have been a very different outcome and one where it would have drastically affected our lives in our remaining time there in Guinea-Bissau. So the obedience and the blessing that Abelle was listening to God, open to the Lord, and and interceding. And so that that's the power I think about uh how good the Lord has been in guiding my life. And I know Katie can attest to her life even before we came together. But I remember when we were uh engaged before we were married, I was working at a tree nursery, and I did not want to go into any further training. I was like, I'm ready to go overseas. I want to go, my heart was burning to share the gospel, and I had a faithful mentor, and this is the beauty of being in the family of God that you have people that pray for you and that also hear the voice of God. And I had a mentor, and I honor him today, Pastor Stuart Deal, who's gone on to be with the Lord, and he would faithfully intercede for me. And he said, Wait, as I'm praying for you, uh the Lord's telling me you need to be further, have further training, and I keep hearing Moody. And I knew nothing about the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. And I, to be honest, I actually kind of dismissed it. I said, I don't I thought to myself, that's the last thing I want to do. I want to I do not want to go back to school. And he was like, I'm I'm hearing this. Well, uh some within some weeks the student body, former student body president plants a church for Moody in my hometown of Columbia, Maryland. And then the president of that school also came, and I was not there, but my parents were, and they they met them both. Another confirmation. I still was like, I don't want to do this. And I was working at a tree nursery, tree nursery, which I know you remember, uh, Messler's, which I don't think is no longer there in Columbia. And uh as I was getting ready to close for the day and and getting ready to leave, uh, there was a one uh older woman who was buying flowers, and she was really insistent that I carry her flowers to her car. And I thought to myself, there's not even that much, you know. I didn't say it, but I was thinking, like, I'm I'm surely you're you're in good health. And but she was very insistent. I need you to take these to the car. And so I uh I helped her with the few flowers that she bought. And as I approached her car, I noticed it had Virginia license plates, so it was she wasn't even from Maryland. I don't know what she was doing there, but she was from another state. And as I put the flowers away, she began to talk. And I and as she continued to talk, I realized this woman had been sent by God. And so as she's talking, she says, all of a sudden, she's I don't know her from anyone, she doesn't know me, but she says, she asked him some questions, and then she says, So you're going to Bible school. And again, I don't know who this woman is, and I look at her, and then without missing a beat, she says, So you're going to Moody. And I had not been applied or been accepted.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And here she is telling me, I'm going to Moody, the confirmation of my mentor who'd been praying also. Um, again, I'm not applied or been accepted. And I looked at her, I thought, okay, she's been sent by God. She's heard the voice of God. And then she goes on to say, that's good. She said, Moody is a good school, it's staying true to the inerrancy and the authority of the word of God, rightly dividing the word of God. This is a good school to go to. And then she starts talking some more, a little bit about ministry, and hardly lets me say a word, and then basically says, you know, may God bless you, and then drives off. So that's again the blessedness of what Katie just read, that the sheep hear his voice. They are it's amazing when the voice of God speaks. We can Katie and I can both attest, I don't believe we shared this in an earlier episode, but we can both attest when we were in Guinea-Bissau, we've seen this over and over again in transitions in our lives, seeking Lord, your will be done. That He is faithful to make His will known. Yes, you remember Um when we we didn't know, we we thought we'd be in Guinea-Bissau for a long time.
SPEAKER_02A long time.
SPEAKER_01And then before even the coup broke out, uh, we were working on the we say Casa di Osprey, my mind goes right to Creole, but the the guest house. And we were um doing the foundation, raising the walls up, and we would have to do all our cement work by wheelbarrow. So you just mix the cement up wheelbarrow, poured out uh hundreds of wheelbarrows of cement, and um and and as I I still remember where I was, it was in the day, yeah, bright shining sun. I pick up the wheelbarrow, I know exactly where I was. I was beginning to push it, and at that moment, I had a vision, and it was not an uh open vision, in the sense it was with my naked eye, but it stopped me and I saw that in my mind is clear as a movie, and it came out of nowhere. Here I am just working and thinking about construction, pick up the wheelbarrow, all of a sudden, the whole scene in front of me changes, and I'm I'm in somewhere in the middle of America. I I knew it was like around Wyoming, I wasn't sure exactly uh Montana, and it's nighttime, there's a fire, and I'm dancing, worshiping the Lord with Native American men. Clear as anything. Native American men, like we've never like heard a calling from God to go to Native America or anything along this among work among the indigenous people, and um and so I see this so clearly. I mean, I can still see it in my mind, and I just dropped the wheelbarrow and I'm like, okay, Lord, I don't understand this, but if you're in this, then so be it. And I came into you the same the same right away. What did I say?
SPEAKER_00What did you say?
SPEAKER_03Well, he told me about the vision, and I said to him, Honey, can we just finish what we're here for first, please? Because I couldn't even imagine like moving. We had just built a Bible school. It didn't even seem like it didn't make any sense. And so, um, I don't remember what you said. I said, I don't I don't know when exactly we didn't know that the coup d'etat was gonna break out and we were gonna be forced to come back to America.
SPEAKER_01Well, and also and also the Lord was I think he he he he put in that from that vision also, like um even more of a diligence and a and to expedite the training importance of handing it over to Lala S and Apollo.
SPEAKER_03So and we were able to hand it over to some of the best men ever. I mean, really, our Bible school is still doing so much better than amazing Lord.
SPEAKER_01So um, but yeah, I was like I saw it. I said, I I think I told you, I don't know when this is gonna happen, but this is what I saw. And then sure enough, like that unction was put in my heart, like train them. Yeah, and then it was a matter of months. I don't think it was a full year that we begin to realize we were gonna have to exit the country, exit the country because of the coup, and um that's all another testimony of God's faithfulness, you know, in leading. But again, just the faithfulness of hearing the voice of God, and I I want to just address one thing, and I know we have another testimony I want Katie to share. Um this is really important. I know that in the body of Christ, in the family of God, we have people that are really resistant to maybe what I've even shared. You know, even with the dream or a vision or the prophetic. And I get it. Um I I know that these things have been abused and there has been the imaginations of men, but Jesus is clear, the tree is known by the fruit, and that the fruit glorifies God, it brings forth his purposes and his kingdom, then we know that that's not man, and that's certainly not the devil. Um there's an old saying that the one who has a testimony is never at the hands of one who has an argument, or one who has an experience is never at the hands of one who has an argument. So we cannot, you don't argue with a testimony. It's kind of like the Pharisees with the blind man in John 9, and they're trying to get to the root of this and stop it. And he's like, Listen, all I know is I'm I can see.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01Uh this is what happened. How did he do it? How did that happen? I I can't tell you, he told me to go wash, and now I see. Um, that's the power of a testimony. You you just can't argue with it. And so I know there's a saying that says, Why do you seek a voice when you have a verse? Um, I know that's a more well-known thing that's been going around. I've heard it. And we, Katie and I wholeheartedly say, Amen.
SPEAKER_03Amen, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Why why do we we we have a verse? It's an awesome thing. We have the full revelation of God's word.
SPEAKER_03Uh and when you memorize the word of God, it helps you to hear your the voice of God. I think, you know, at critical times in your life, can't tell you how many times scripture just pops into my mind.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_03Right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the word is the ultimate authority, the word is the litmus test. It verifies whether something is false or true.
SPEAKER_03And helps you know the character of God, right?
SPEAKER_01Jesus is the word of God. Right. And so, as Katie just read John 10, that we that his sheep hear his voice, well, that's absolutely going to be rooted in the word of God. At the same time, to those who would deny dreams and visions, and they say, Well, God only speaks through his word, I would challenge you and submit to you that's very dangerous for you to presume that God you say he cannot and will not speak in a dream or a vision. Uh that is presumption, and that is wrong because God is God.
SPEAKER_03And not just a vision, but even just a thought that comes into your head.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Not even a dream, a vision.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_03Just a quick boop, something gets deposited.
SPEAKER_01Or a prompting to pray for somebody or to do something. Um so you know, Peter says on the day of Pentecost, this is the fulfillment of Joel too. In the last days, I'll pour my spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will dream dream. I mean, see visions, your old men will dream dreams. So, are we not more in the last days now than in the days of Peter? Well, if you say that way. Was fulfilled only in that day. That's that's erroneous in its interpretation because the very next verse after that says, Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. So you cannot dismiss one without the other. It's all still going on today till today. We're in the last days still, and even more so than Peter. And therefore, he's still pouring out his spirit. There's still dreams, there's still visions, and people are still calling on the name of the Lord and being saved. And so the Lord certainly is able to do these things. And I believe that we should have a posture of humility to say, Lord, you can do whatever you want in my life. I'm not gonna make you, I'm not gonna say, I'm not gonna manipulate, and I'm certainly not going to make things up.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01To sound spiritual. But if you want to reveal in this way for your glory and as a testimony that God is still actively involved in our lives, then let him be what he does in that regard. And that's what we see in the book of Acts. Philip heard the voices of the Spirit say, Go up to this chariot. You know, um, Acts 13. The Spirit says, Set apart from me, Paul and Barnabas, at the work that I've called them. There was an there's an involvement that Jesus is, we don't serve the view of what the deists see. Just a clockmaker far away who just started things and then kind of left it for us to figure it out. We serve a God who's not just a far-off, but a God who's very near and is intimately involved. In fact, Jesus is, he knows every hair on our head. Yes, every little detail, and he is so faithful to speak to us in that way. And uh before Katie shares his testimony, I'll like you had just said about promptings. And we we could go, there could be a whole podcast that we're not gonna do of a dear friend of ours. That's true, who just went on to be with the Lord, Gary Hannikan. I mean, does anybody do we know anyone that hears the voice of God clearer than he did? And and why? Because he was obedient to respond to what the Lord told him to do. And I really believe that's there's a connection there that uh we we need to recognize, as someone said, if you have the intention to obey what God will speak before he speaks, you won't lack in hearing God's voice. It's very dangerous and foolish to think that we can choose whether we want to obey or not. It's really a place of surrender, a place of saying, God, whatever you want, uh I'm your servant, I'm I'm I'm yours to do with whatever you want to do in my life. And I really learned that from Gary. I honor him, uh, who now has entered into his reward. I can only imagine, because it if if you're ever, if we're ever in person, I can share you many stories with Gary. And I remember one time how he would impact my life, many times he impacted my life, but I remember one time we were living in South Dakota, we were Katie and I were just there last week, and we drove by the Minards. Uh that's like a Lowe's kind of a thing, um, Home Depot, out not in the east, but out in the Midwest. And I'll never forget the testimonies we drove by the Menards. Uh Gary had visited us, and we were in uh our refrigerator had broken down, and I was like, we have to go get a new one. He said, Well, let's go up to Rapid City. And I was like so tired. I we already had spent, he had an amazing amount of energy. Anyway, he he was we're driving up, I'm feeling tired. I just want to go in there, get what we're gonna get in, and get out.
SPEAKER_03Right, but not Gary.
SPEAKER_01But not Gary. He would always pray this prayer. We challenge you to pray this prayer. He would he would consistently say, Daddy, show me your glory. Show me your glory. He would consistently say, Show me your glory. It was a constant prayer of his. And because he's asking, he gets to see it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, true.
SPEAKER_01So we we we're driving up, he keeps saying that, praying that, and I said, Okay, I'm I'm convicted. And I said, Lord, forgive me, I'm so tired. And I said, Lord, Father, show me your glory. And we go into menor's, and Gary is out being led by the Spirit with somebody. And I drive and I I'm walking the aisles and I see a woman in a wheelchair, and I hear the prompting of the Lord, as Katie just said, say, pray for her. And uh to my shame, I made an excuse. I'm like, no, no, this is probably just me, and but we just want to submit to you what we've learned. Just pray. You know, that's obedience. God does the miracles, we don't do the miracles, and so we we we pray and we need to be obedient. I'm not saying for everyone that you see that you feel that way. I I'm just telling you, I was prompted, and I said, I don't, this is probably just me. So I made this little fleece in my mind. Well, if I see her again, whatever. I it was so pathetic, and I admit that. And God in his mercy, I was I didn't see her, and then I was checking out, and then there she is right in front of me. So now I'm really convicted. And we go out into the parking lot, I begin to ask her, hey, how are you? Your name, what happened? And she was in chronic pain. She had been in uh in the wheelchair for a substantial period of time and um was feeling great pain at that moment. And I said, Hey, can I can I just pray with you right now? And um, and and would you allow me to do that? And she said, Yes. Prayed over her, the power of God goes into her body, and I I didn't know what I I'm not I'm believing, but I don't know. You know, it's God who does the miracle. Pray for her, the power of God goes through her body. She stands up crying, pain left her body, healed, right there in the parking lot. Then she calls over her brother, come here, come here, come here. And he comes over and then it opens the door to begin to minister to her brother, who was really battling in his faith and in his life. And here he is witnessing his sister getting out of her wheelchair completely healed. But anyway, um being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. But I wanted Katie to share one that was really powerful, too, in the area of even relationships. Um, we were we were in Washington, DC. Let's talk about that one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was this happened many, many years ago when Wade and I were young and in missionary training school.
SPEAKER_012002.
SPEAKER_032002. But this this story is just so so powerful and so precious. Wade and I had spent the day in downtown Washington, DC, and we were just sharing the gospel. We were looking for opportunities to share the gospel. And it was the end of a really long day, so we were taking the subway back to our car and um sitting quietly on the subway, and I look across the row, and I see this very dapper-looking African-American man who was had a he had a beautiful suit on and a trench coat and a really dapper little hat.
SPEAKER_00Like he was out of the 40s or something.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I looked over at him and I heard the voice of God say to me, I want you to, you guys, to pray for him. And so I was like, oh my gosh, how are we gonna do that? Like, we're on a subway. And I leaned over to wait. I said, wait, the Holy Spirit just told me that God wants us to pray for him. Well, at that moment, the subway came to a stop.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'll say this. Uh so it was like, well, if he's speaking to you, you pray for him. You were like putting it on me.
SPEAKER_03You know, and he's it's he's sitting across from us. But at that moment, the subway stopped.
SPEAKER_00Praise God for your obedience.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. And the door opens, and this God gets up and like to exit the subway. Well, it wasn't our stop. But I praise the Lord for Wade and his um ability to trust me that I'm hearing God, you know, because I think a lot of people would have been like, uh, never mind, you know.
SPEAKER_01And I'll confess I was tired, it was a long day, and I was like, I just want to get home, I just want to get back. So I was actually hesitant.
SPEAKER_03But I knew I was like, we gotta go, we gotta go.
SPEAKER_01So we I was like, um Yeah, but anyway, so just honor my wife. Yes, I I know she hears the voice of God, and so I was like, she's heard, so I need to be obedient.
SPEAKER_03Right, right, right. So we both got up, even though it wasn't our stop, and we followed this man outside of the subway into the terminal, and um, he's a real short little guy. I'm five five, and he probably was either my height or a little shorter than me. So a real tiny guy, and my husband, Wade, is six foot eight. And so here we are following this guy down the subway terminal, and Wade following him fast. Yeah, because he was moving so fast for how short he was, he was moving really fast.
SPEAKER_01So I I I did what I shouldn't have done, but the Lord worked it out. But God bless, I put my hand on his shoulder.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And he looked around that like he turned around and was like, Hello? And um, you know, Wade said, Hey, brother, we were just wondering, could we pray for you? Because like it was so awkward. But what did he say?
SPEAKER_00He said, He said, You can he paused, he was like, Yeah, you can collect himself.
SPEAKER_01Then he said, You can pray for me, but this is how I want you to pray for me. And he was actually very discerning, he was testing of what spirit we were of. And so he said, You pray the prayer of Ephesians 1. And uh I had it memorized, the apostolic prayer, so I was ready to pray it. So I prayed it out over him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and while Wade prayed that prayer over him, this man had a vision. He got a vision of, I won't go into details on the vision, but the vision had to do with us being missionaries in Africa, which of course he knew nothing about, and we were getting ready to go overseas to Africa as missionaries. So it was really cool because that man gave us a word from God at that time. He was extremely prophetic, and so we met him. So we ended up meeting this man in that way and in that manner. I mean, that is totally supernatural. Well, Patrick um worked at an art dealer in downtown Washington among the rich. He was very prophetic. He had no brothers and sisters, whose parents had died, and um really we our family became his family. So this little black man really became like our brother, and we grew to really appreciate him in all of his eccentricies. He was extremely um unusual, extremely prophetic, and lived a very simple life. Every single thing in his apartment had meaning and purpose and a testimony. Yeah, and a testimony. There was nothing fluff, no fluff um whatsoever. So he lived very simply, but for the glory of God. And he had a gift of hospitality. And so this is such a cool testimony because you know, through the years he became one of our biggest supporters. We um live on by faith, and so he um financially supported our family. He blessed us, even ones with a vacation, which is actually so amazing. But what really shocked us is that he ended up getting cancer and telling no one. He never told a soul that he had cancer, and he decided not to go through any treatment. And so toward the end of his life, within just a couple weeks of him dying, he called both Wade and I independently of each other, and he obeyed God's scripture that says to sing over one another, songs and hymns and spiritual songs. Well, he did that. How many people do you know who do that? I don't, I've never met anyone who does that. But he called Wade and sang over him a very prophetic blessing, and then he called me and he did the same thing. And I had no idea why. I know we both did not have any idea that he was dying, but he died not long after that. And he left his life insurance to us. Um, it wasn't a large policy, but it was just enough for us to build a deck, an addition onto the back of our house that is used for hospitality. And we really didn't have the money for that, but we needed it because there's a large drop between our back door and the ground, and we didn't have the money to build that deck. And then we thought maybe it would be another five years or more before we would have the money to build that deck. But when we got that um money from Patrick, yeah, we were able to build it, and we think of it as our Patrick room because we host lots and lots and lots of um prayer times and hospitality, you know, in that area.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and Scott did an incredible job building it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. So I just that's a story of just hearing the voice of God. And what if I had not, what if I had gotten that prompting, pray for that man. I want you to pray for that man. And I just was like, oh, this is so awkward and so inconvenient. You know, I mean, like, we're on the subway, like I don't know him, Lord. Like, how am I gonna talk to that man? And and what if we hadn't gotten off of the subway and followed him? I mean, seriously, you guys, we would have missed out on so many blessings. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, just that like you like you said, the the vision that he received was so profound.
SPEAKER_03And it was so encouraging.
SPEAKER_01Right there in the subway, you know, station area uh DC, it wasn't just even the vision, but the presence of God fell on Katie and I as he was sharing it. I mean, here we're we're chasing this guy, not knowing him from Adam, and then he has this encounter with God that encourages our hearts, and then it's And what's cool is he had been meditating on the verse that goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.
SPEAKER_03And he was thinking to himself about how that word, I guess, means like hot pursuit. And so when Wade grabbed him, he was like, Oh. He was just meditating, he was just meditating, so he was thinking, I guess this is goodness and mercy or something, which is which is so funny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was amazing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was amazing, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And and as Kitty said, you know, the friendship after was um long-lasting and impactful, not only for our lives, but also people that we know. Absolutely. He poured into them, and again, he was obedient to what the Lord told him to do. I remember when we'd have he'd invite me over for dinner, he'd have this, he would, everything he did was with excellence. So he would he would put out this spread and this finest china. And he had he didn't have a lot in his apartment, as Katie said. Everything in his apartment he said he wanted it to be an act of warfare. He didn't want any for the for the glory of God. He would he didn't want any, you know, any extras or just clutter. Everything in his house had a testimony of somehow what how he got it by the by the hand of the Lord or how the Lord led him. It was so challenging. And I actually came from a Mennonite background. But I remember coming in and just he would have the food laid out, it was beautiful spread, and then he would just say, This is what the Lord has been sharing. And he would just start talking for like 30 minutes straight, yeah, and just sharing things that were the secrets of my heart, things that I had been praying about that were being confirmed. Um, that's again, like to Katie's point, this is an ordinary man. There's no super spiritual No, he had no platform, he you know, nothing.
SPEAKER_03He didn't have any microphone or podcast or pulpit. Yeah, but he impacted many people, many people, especially in the art district of Washington, D.C. and among the rich. Even among the politicians, among politicians. Yeah. So yeah, anyway.
SPEAKER_01Just the blessing of being obedient and hearing the voice of God.
SPEAKER_03Uh you guys, I personally and Wade could share so many stories from the last um, I guess, almost four decades of knowing Jesus, of hearing his voice and being led by his spirit. You know, stories about my kids, you know, me as a mom deep in intercession, just um really, really going to bat for my kids in prayer, and then hearing God, you know, speak to me about my kids and their future, and then that coming to pass. And I could, we could both share so many more stories. So we're nothing special. I keep saying this throughout our whole series. This is this can be true for you too. That's the whole point of this podcast, not just to tell our stories, but hopefully to encourage you that you know, we're just a few steps maybe ahead of you, or we're right there with you running this race. And I just encourage you to just quiet your heart and your mind, close the door, you know, and listen. Listen to God. Our prayer time should be not just our not just talking, right? It should also include listening. Because um, I think if you don't do that, you miss out on um sharpening that relationship with God, right? Because how exhausting would it be, right? If I just talked at Wade and Wade never spoke back. But that's how it is with God. God wants to speak to us, He wants to speak to us throughout the day. And as we grow in our relationship with Him, we just become more and more accustomed then to how He speaks, and um we can obey Him and see beautiful testimonies like some like the ones that we just shared.
SPEAKER_00Amen. Yeah, Amen.
SPEAKER_03So that leads us just in um closing up this whole time, which is really sad because I've enjoyed it so so much. So hopefully I can talk Wade into maybe doing this at another time. But I did want to say this that if you have been following our Miracle Stories podcast, I want you to know Wade has another podcast um for men. So if and I think it's great, it's mostly geared toward men, but honestly, it's a blessing even for women.
SPEAKER_01It was called the Well, it's called um Walking in Biblical Manhood.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's called Walking in Biblical Manhood. So that is another fascinating podcast. So I really hope that many of you will jump over and subscribe to that podcast as well.
SPEAKER_01Um it's a combination of different teachings that we believe are very foundational with a couple of other brothers, Bob and Scott, but also with testimonies of Jesus changing lives.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I also wanted to say that we have a YouTube channel. Um, for those of you like maybe who found us on Spotify or any other means than YouTube, I just want you to know we do have a YouTube channel, and that Wade does update that channel with content pretty regularly. Or there's also a back, a large backlogged catalog of stuff that I think would be a real blessing to you. So um we're definitely not here just to create followers or whatever, otherwise we would just keep this series going indefinitely. But but I do our heart again is just to encourage and equip to give glory to God and hopefully to be um discipling at least some people through this through this avenue.
SPEAKER_01So as we conclude uh this time, it's been a great joy, and thank you again for joining us. But we want to end with the most important thing, and that's the reality and the hope and the assurance uh that we are called to have for our salvation. And so Jesus is very clear that we must be born again. We must, in order to enter the kingdom of heaven, he says, you must be born again. And so we want to leave just the message of the gospel that you're ready for the day to face your creator and also the joy of the now, of living in light of his will and to walk with him, to have a relationship with him. Um I heard this years ago and I submit it to you. It's a it's a powerful, simple truth. Um the difference between quote religion and relationship. Someone said religion can be spelled do. If I just do this and I do enough, maybe I'll be good enough. Maybe there'll be some scale at the end where my good deeds will weigh out my bad deeds and God will have mercy and let me in. Uh whereas relationship is spelled D-O-N-E, and that's what I want to share with you. It's already been done, and there's nothing that you and I can add to it to be able to receive the gift of salvation. So the first thing you and I must understand is that there is a problem, and that problem is sin. The word of God talks about all have sinned. And so if you didn't know, probably um just to clarify even more the significance of that, the word sin literally means to miss the mark. So it's kind of the picture of shooting at a target. No matter how hard you try, you and I cannot make perfection. And that is the standard of God. In fact, Katie, would you I want you to read that that scripture? Second Corinthians chapter 10. Listen to what Paul says here. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Second Corinthians 10, verse 12. For we dare not make ourselves of the number or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, but they measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.
SPEAKER_01Okay, that is a very dangerous thing, is when you're comparing yourself with other people and saying, Well, at least I'm not like them. In fact, Jesus speaks to this in Luke 18 about the self-righteous Pharisee who looks at the tax collector and says, Oh, thank God I'm not like this man over here. And that is just really self-righteousness and pride. And God is very clear in the Bible how much he abores pride. He hates it. It is odious to him. It is to the humble that he gives grace to. And that is our prayer that you and uh and I would be always in a position to understand that we have nothing to boast of. Uh, the only thing we can boast of is what we deserve of the wrath of God. But outside of that, the boasting is only in what the Lord has done for us. So we I want you to understand if you if you've not heard this, if you've not understood the clarity, the word gospel means good news. It means good news. What is the gospel? The gospel can be clearly, succinctly articulated the way Paul did it. It's very clear in 1 Corinthians 15, 1 through 4. He made it clear this is the gospel I presented to you, this is how you were saved as you walk in this, and he says what it is. He says that this is the gospel, that Jesus Christ died for your sins according to the scripture, and was buried and was raised a third day according to the scriptures. That is the gospel. The issue is Jesus did not come to die for our happiness, he did not come to die to make our lives better, he came to die for our sins. That's what the gospel is. That is that is why he came to die. Why is that? Well, the word of God says that the wages or the payment of sin is death. It's not good works, it's not going to church, it's not being baptized as an infant that does not pay for sin.
SPEAKER_03No sacrament.
SPEAKER_01No sacrament.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Not enough prayer, not enough fasting. The wages of sin, the payment of sin is death. This is throughout scripture. Ezekiel 18 is very clear also, the soul that sins will die. So the payment of sin is not these other things. It is death. Why? Because God has a holy law, and his law is authoritative and it must be fulfilled. He's a good judge. He's not a corrupt judge, he's not a judge like you see maybe in our country, some judges or other countries where they can be manipulated or they can be bribed. God cannot be bribed, he cannot be manipulated. He says, This is my law, and I'm going to enforce it. And he has these commandments, things like, you shall not covet. If you've coveted something that doesn't belong to you, you've sinned in the eyes of God. It says you should not lie, bear false witness. If you have borne false witness, if you've lied, then you're a liar. It doesn't take five lives, lies, for someone to be a liar. Just one lie makes someone a liar. That can be embellishment, that could be exaggeration, whatever it is. If we lie, we have sinned. The word of God says you should not steal. Doesn't matter if it's something small or something large. It's not the size. In fact, it even shows greater propensity towards theft if it's something that's meaningless, that that is discounted is not a big deal. So theft is sinning against God. The seventh commandment is you should not commit adultery. But Jesus reveals in the Sermon on the Mount that it's not just the act, it's actually also that God will judge the intent of the heart. He says, You've heard it of old, you should not commit adultery. But I say it to you, whoever looks with lust at a woman has committed adultery already in his heart. In other words, if the opportunity was presented, they would do it. That the even the intent or looking lustfully is sin in the eyes of God, and he's going to judge it. Jesus says in John, sorry, in Matthew, he also says, You've heard it of old, you shall not commit murder. But I say to you, whoever is anger in his heart, without cause against a brother, has committed murder in his heart. Whoever even says you fool, he says, will be in danger of hell fire. So any time that we have cursed someone, had unforgiveness in our heart, any bitterness in our heart, God says that He's going to judge it in the light of that final day. In fact, I want Katie, if you could read Revelation chapter 20, this is going to happen, whether you and I want to believe it will be or to deny it. How can we have confidence that this day is coming? Let me just submit to you before Katie reads this that as I just shared what the gospel was, that Jesus died for our sins according to the scriptures. He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. If you look at one of the most powerful arguments concerning the validity and the authority of the Word of God, it is the amount of prophecies that have been specifically fulfilled. One of the illustrations is a famous mathematician. The probability of even, I believe, 30, there's many more of one man fulfilling all these prophecies is the equivalent mathematically. The probability is like being dropped off the state of Texas up to your like your shin and quarter dollars blindfolded by a helicopter, and two of those uh quarter dollars being marked red, and you picking up one of those randomly. Like that's the probability of someone fulfilling, and that's only like so many compared to how many more that Jesus fulfilled. And that is just Jesus. Then they have all these other prophecies, governments rising and falling that were all fulfilled in the book of Daniel over and over again. There's so many specific things that were clearly written hundreds of years before and then came to pass hundreds of years later. So these things verify and validate, not only because also because of the transformation that happens in the people's hearts who believe in the Word of God, but it also gives us confidence and conviction. This day of judgment is coming. And it is appointed a man to die once. Ten out of ten people will die. And there's, I don't know what it is that now, the statistics. I never I knew it used to be about 150,000 people die every single day around the world. It's a very sobering thing that as fast as I am clicking my finger, someone is perishing, someone is leaving this shell of their body and their soul is going somewhere and will come before the Lord. And in the future, I want Kate if you could read, this is what is going to happen uh in the future.
SPEAKER_03This is um from the book of Revelation, chapter 20, verse 11. I'm gonna start. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged out of those things that were written in the books according to their works, and the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them, and they were judged, every man according to their works, and the death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
SPEAKER_01So God is a righteous judge, he is not an unjust judge. He is we we he's a holy judge, and and yet he is also a God of love who actively has pursued and is pursuing us to be reconciled to him. Your conscience, my conscience, bear witness to wrongs that we do. Conscience, con with science knowledge. We do everything with knowledge, and we know when we have done wrong. We have memories. Even those things we cannot call up in our mind, they have proven now, even scientifically, those that have studied the brain, that it is all locked in our brain like a computer. And on that final day, it will be replayed. There will be no, I don't remember that. It will be replayed in the knowledge of every single thing that we've done to sin against the light that God has revealed in our conscience and rebelling against him and the right and what is righteous. And so we want you to understand how severe and how serious this is. This is Jesus is not mincing words. He said it's better to cut off your hand, gouge out your eye, he's speaking in a way that's figurative of the seriousness of sin, better cut than to have your whole body cast into hell. Jesus says, What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? What can a man give in exchange for his soul? Your soul is of infinite importance, and the Lord wants that soul redeemed. He wants you to be born again. And so he's very clear in Luke 8:17 everything in the darkness is going to come into the light. It's all going to be revealed. There's nothing that is hidden that will not come into the light. And he says every idle word that we've spoken, we're going to give an account to. By your words, he says you'll be justified. By your words, you'll be condemned. Everything will come into the light. Are you ready for that day? Are you ready for the day of accounting? It is coming. And you will be before the throne of God, who is a holy God. And we want you to know today that there is good news. There is good news. The Word of God says the wages of sin is death. Therefore, Hebrews 9.22, quoting Leviticus 17.11, says, Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. This is what we see, the pattern of the entire Bible. There is a blood sacrifice. But God knew the blood of an animal and the blood of the man are not the same thing. It was a foreshadowing of what was going to come, that he himself would come in the form of man, be born of a virgin, as was prophesied in Isaiah 7.14, born in Bethlehem, as was prophesied in Micah 5.2. Bethlehem meaning the house of bread. Jesus saying, I'm the bread of life. All these things verifying this one person who would come, even when he would come. Daniel chapter 9 even said when Jesus would come, right before the destruction of Israel, of Jerusalem in 70 AD. All these things it revealed exactly when he would come in history, hundreds of years before he came. And Jesus lived a perfect life. He did no wrong. He never broke the law, not even one time. 613 commands, not one broken. Perfect life. Does many amazing miracles, heals the blind, the deaf, the lame, even makes the dead to rise. And says things that no man has ever said on the face of the earth in history. I am the bread of life. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will not perish, but at everlasting life. I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness. Over and over again, claims that no one has ever made. I and the Father are one. And then says, if you don't believe the words that I say, then believe the works that I do. They validate, they verify me, as does Moses in the writings. They speak of me. Over and over again, the witness of John the Baptist. These were multiple witnesses that Jesus made it very clear. I am the one. I am the Messiah, the Christ, which means the anointed one, the one who would come to fulfill Isaiah 53. Please read Isaiah 53. 700 years before Jesus talks about why he would come to die. Without the shedding of blood, there's no forgiveness of sins. And so this would also speak to those who would say, Well, Jesus is just one way among many ways. Father, if it's possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done. No, there's no other way. There had to be a holy sacrifice. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. There has to be payment for the breaking of the law. The breaking of the law is death. The soul that sins will die. The payment of sin is death. Therefore, Jesus satisfies the law. He pays the penalty that you and I could not pay. And he willingly lays down his life to be a sacrifice for you and for me to pay for the sin. You need to understand that even in the English language, we didn't have a word to describe the pain that Jesus went through. And so there was the word developed excruciating, which means out of the cross. That's where the word comes from. There was not a more torturous, horrible, nightmarish way to die than on the cross. That was the ultimate humiliation. And as you read in scripture, again, if you read Psalm 22, it is amazing that David is giving details of how Jesus was going to be crucified. His hands and his feet pierced, that he could count his bones, that even the people around would be mocking him. Everything to the T detailed Jesus fulfilled. In fact, the way the psalm starts, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me? was what Christ prayed out on the cross. Cover from blood, crown of thorns. Again, prophetic fulfillment. That the curse was the thorns from Adam's sin. And here Jesus becomes a curse for us. Cursed is a man who hangs on a tree. That's the law. And Jesus became a curse for you and I. He bore the curse. He bore the wrath of God. He bore our sins. God made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Jesus fulfills the law. And he yells from the cross, his final words. It is finished. The price was paid. You and I cannot add to that. He didn't need help to say, well, I did my 99%. You do your 1%. Then you can no. He did it all. And therefore, that is why no one can boast. No one can earn salvation. It is given to the humble who acknowledge, who are willing to admit, I have sinned, I have lied, I have coveted, I have lusted, I have had anger in my heart, I have maybe taken the name of God in vain. You say the Lord's name in a way that was irreverent. God says it's blasphemy. I've done these things, God, and yet you still love me to die for me. Romans 5:8. God proves his love for you and for us. And that while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. That's how much he loves us. And as was prophesied, everything, even his tomb, but then him rising three days later, showing victory over the grave. Victory over death.
SPEAKER_02Amen.
SPEAKER_01Amen. That those who believe in him would also be resurrected to new life, would also have the promise of everlasting life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him would not perish, but have everlasting life. And God didn't send his son into the world to condemn the world, he sent his son in the world to save salvation. In fact, that's what the name Jesus means. Yeshua or Yahushua. It means salvation is of God. God saves. That's what he came to do. His very name bears witness to that. And he ascended. He walked, was seen by over 500 people after he was resurrected. And then 40 days later, he ascended and was witnessed as he ascended by his disciples, and the angel verified. And he is going to come back to judge the living and the dead. God is going to trust him judgment. To those who believe on him, Jesus says, Those who repent, they turn away. Repentance is going another direction. I've gone the way of sin. I'm repenting. I'm turning towards Jesus and what he has done for me. I want to follow him. I want to believe on him. The word of God says, We have peace with God. It's not by what you can do, it's by faith. For by grace are you saved through faith and not of yourselves. It's the gift of God, not a result, so that no man will boast. The just, Paul says, quitting Habakkuk, shall live by faith. Abraham believed, it was accounted to him as righteousness. So Paul is showing to us today, it is only by faith that we can be justified. And that is the ultimate place, again, of humility. He did it. I believe, I turn, I believe, Jesus, you died for me. You died for these, all these sins, everything I've ever done, you died for every one of them. And your blood is enough to satisfy the law of God and to cleanse me. And you rose from the dead. I want to rise to a new life with you. If anyone's in Christ, they're a new creation. The old things will have passed away. Behold, all things, all things have become new. So this is the good news. No matter what you've done, will you humble yourself and say, I need salvation. I need to be born again. Please do not put it off. Jesus, the word of God says, if you hear my voice, today, if you hear my voice, do not harden your heart. That is a warning, a dangerous warning. Do not reject so great a salvation. It is being offered to you with, and his nail scarred hands are outstretched. This is how much I love you.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01Because you sinned, I did this for you. Because I want you reconciled back to me. I want you reconciled to the Father. And to those who receive this gift, who believe on his name, he gives them the power to be called the children of God. And he says that you'll be given the spirit of adoption. No longer the spirit of fear that falls into bondage, but the spirit of adoption whereby you can cry Abba, Father, which is an intimate term. It's like Papa, Daddy, I have a relationship with you. And that's my testimony, and that's Katie's testimony. We were outside of Christ. We believed on the gospel. She was in New York, right? I was in Maryland. We believe actually, ironically, it was the same year, 1987. Heard the good news, acknowledged our sin, said God, we need salvations. Please save us. And the Lord came into our lives. We became born again, and everything changed. There was the weight of sin that fell off our shoulders, and we knew we had entered into a relationship with the Lord. D O N E. He has done it. Not religion, D O, everything around the world tries to earn. He has come down to us for us to be. Reconcile back to him, not us trying to get to him. You cannot do it no more than uh saying I can swim to England. That's the standard of God. Perfection. You might be a better swimmer than I am, but you ain't gonna make it to England. You need to have someone carry you there. And that is what the Lord has done through the cross and through the resurrection, that you can be reconciled to Him. So our prayer is as we end this series, everything that we have shared about these miracles is an outflow. It is because we are in Christ and Christ is in us. As Paul said, I have been crucified with Christ. It's no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. The life now it's the life is live for him. He who loved me and delivered himself up for me. I live for him now. That's why Katie and I have been able to share the reality that Jesus is alive. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It's not a dead religion. We don't just go into some building and try to fulfill some kind of religious duty and say, okay, we're good for the week. I've made some kind of confession. No, it's an everyday joy to walk with God in the expectancy. We get to hear his voice, as Katie shared and read from John 10. We get to hear the Lord. We get to walk with God. And the amazing thing is, is that even he says, I'm gonna give you a reward, which is so mind-blowing. Why? He didn't have to do that, but he says, talks about the five crowns, he talks about treasures in heaven. And we get one day not only to have the confidence to hear him say, Welcome, well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into your rest, enter in the joy of the Lord. Great is your reward. But we get to lay down crowns and worship him and say, Lord, you would give this to me. I want to give it back and worship. But that's how good he is. That's how benevolent he is. That's how amazing his love is. And he loves you. And he wants you to be in right relationship with him. Ask him. I want to be saved, Lord. I want to be born again. Come in my life and save me. I believe these things. And as you believe, he says, I will justify you. And then read the word. Get into the word. Get to know who he is. Yes. Because there's a lot of confusion out there about his character. And he has been misrepresented. And people have attributed things to him that is not true of him. And that's one of our burdens. And that's why we're also sharing these stories of to share how good he is. Yes. How faithful he is, how righteous he is, how worthy he is. And that is who he really is. And I'm grieved by how much he's been misrepresented. And there's a lot of things that are being exposed, and God is going to expose them. But the truth is also that you and I are all going to stand before him. And we're, we he's called us to run this race well, to finish well. But the race starts when you give your life to Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_02Amen.
SPEAKER_01So that's our prayer, Katie and I. We we bless you, we thank you for this time together, and we pray that not only if you believe this already, uh, we trust that you've been baptized, because that is in accordance. Jesus says, He that believes and is baptized. There is a there is a um the evidence that that we are obedient. Jesus says, if you love me, you'll obey my commands. It's not baptism doesn't save us, but it is a demonstration. This is authentic. I really believe. Therefore, I gladly will identify with baptism, which is the identification of his death, burial, and resurrection. And so we we we encourage if you have not been baptized, you need to be baptized. There should be no hesitancy, it should burn in your heart. I want to I want to show my love and that I am not ashamed of the Lord. Jesus says, if you're ashamed of me, I'm gonna be ashamed of you when I come in power with my angels. If you confess me before men, I'm gonna confess you before my Father who is in heaven. Those of you who know the gospel, I we pray together right now that we would the church would rise up and share the pure gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe. So let's share. And if those of you who would give your life to the Lord, uh feel free to reach out. We'd be happy to send some discipleship material your way. Uh our email is wade and kate at gmail.com. W-a-d-e-a-n-d-k-a-t-e at gmail.com. We'd be happy to send uh some discipleship material to help you grow in your faith. So thank you so much. We're honored to have these many weeks with you. Anything else you want to say in closing, babe?
SPEAKER_03You know, I just was listening to the gospel listening to the gospel again when you were preaching it today. And I was just sitting here quietly, not only just praying for all of those who are gonna be listening, but I was thinking about the love of God this this series has represented. I mean, we have throughout the last 30 episodes talked about Satanists encountering the love of Jesus, demoniacs receiving sound lines. We've we've talked about people that were in the depths of the dregs of society, encountering God, people that were literally had been given just a death sentence with cancers being healed, blind people being healed. We have talked about all of these things, so for those of you, if this is your first episode that you've heard, please do go back and listen. Because we've talked about all kinds of people that have encountered this gospel, this Jesus, this beautiful God. Um, in the news today and in the culture today, God is getting a really bad rap. You know, I've even heard from people recently saying, you know, God is so harsh. Why would I follow such a harsh God? You know? But really, if you just listen to this series, I think you'll find that he's so much better than you can imagine. And he loves people so much. Really, he's doing all that he can to reach out to people and he wants to use you. Those of you who know Jesus, that's really what this whole series was about, right? We want to just show God wants to use you. And so I really hope that these testimonies have challenged you, have encouraged you, and I pray that, you know, with intention today, you'll say, Jesus, use me, use me to share the gospel. Use me to be the one to pray for someone who's discouraged or sick. You know, just take those steps of faith and go out and do it, right? Because this world needs Jesus. It really is the good news, the best news, the best news in the world that Jesus Christ died for you and that your sins can be forgiven. You can live in a communion with God. You can hear his voice, you can see his glory on this earth and in the next life to come. How beautiful is that. So thank you so much for joining us. We bless you. And we and we love you in the name of Jesus. We love you. And as Wade said, please do um email us. If you have given your life to Jesus today, please let us know, and we will send you some discipleship material.
SPEAKER_01Man, may God bless you, and we'll put some other, maybe some leads in the description on the YouTube channel for some other tools uh that can hopefully build your faith and encourage you. But it's been a great joy, and again, I honor my wife. This was her idea. Um I didn't I don't like uh doing anything behind a camera, but I do like testifying of what the Lord is saying.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well thank you, honey, for being obedient.
SPEAKER_01It's been a joy to be able to give glory to God for this, and uh, we're so thankful again that you've joined us. So may the Lord bless you.
