In this video podcast, GOD'S PROMISES, Pastor Ed Brady unpacks the biblical concepts of CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP. It's important that we serve God, and it's much better for everyone if you do it with the help of Christian friends.
Hey Pastor Edden, I'm one of your listeners and I love your show.
SPEAKER_00Got nine minutes? Let's open the Bible and be inspired.
SPEAKER_02God says it's not good for man to be alone. Not good for woman to be alone either. But we're not talking about marriage today on our God's Promises podcast. We're talking about Christian fellowship, gathering together with other Christians to walk the walk to encourage each other as we work as one body of Christ to follow Jesus all the way to heaven and help each other get there. Let's take a look at Scripture from Luke 24, 13 through 15. Now, behold, two were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And as they walked together, they talked about all those things which had happened. And so it was, while they conversed and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. Have you ever heard the phrase, when two or more are gathered, Jesus is there with them? It's true. When two or more Christians are gathered together, Jesus is with them. It happened live in person on the walk to Umaeus, and it happens live in person when we gather together with other Christians in Christian fellowship. Luke 24, 13 through 15. I respectfully request that you write down the scriptures that we use in this nine-minute video and study them after the video is over. Now, behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem, and they talked together of all the things that had happened that day. And so it was, while they conversed and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. When you're with other believers, Jesus is with you every time. Work at having successful Christian fellowship. In Psalm 55, 14, we took sweet counsel together and walked to the house of God in the community of worshipers. Psalm 55, 14. When we work together in the family of faith, everything turns out better because the Holy Spirit is our helper. Jesus is with us. Our Father watches over us. Goodness and mercy follow us everywhere we go. From 1 Corinthians 1 10. Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, be no divisions among you, but to you perfectly be joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. There are a lot of denominations, thousands of denominations, and yet the differences between them are sometimes very slight. It's important for us as Christian believers to fellowship together and all speak the same truth with no divisions. Write it down, 1 Corinthians 1 10. Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you speak the same thing. There be no divisions among you, that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. From Galatians 6, 2 and 10. Bear one another's burdens and fulfill the law of Christ. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. We need to be extra special to the people that are part of the household of faith, to other Christians. Galatians 6, 2 and 10. Bear one another's burdens, fulfill the law of Christ. In other words, when somebody has problems, don't just say, Well, I'll pray for you. Yes, it's important for us to pray for one another, but we need to do what we can to help them through their burden in practical ways as well. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Let's look at Hebrews 10, 24 and 25. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, by exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the day approaching. The return of Christ, the day of our salvation, is coming soon. Sooner than it was 2,000 years ago, obviously. So we need to find a church that teaches the Bible, that's spirit-filled, and do not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. You're watching God's Promises Podcast. Today's topic is Christian fellowship. On YouTube, you'll find 20 more, at least, other videos that we've created. Look on YouTube under the name Ed Brady Radio and find other topics like anger and fear and love and forgiveness. God's Promises Podcast will be back right after this.

SPEAKER_02Welcome back. I'm Pastor Ed Brady. This is God's Promises Podcast, and we're teaching about Christian fellowship today. Christian fellowship is the practice of believers gathering together to share their lives, their faith, and mission rooted in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. It's often described in the Greek word koinania, meaning sharing in common or participation. Koinonia, the Greek word that talks about working together as one body of faith. Understanding biblical Christian fellowship is based on the fact that grace connects all of us. We all have that counselor, that comforter, that Holy Spirit that keeps us working together as we serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must find healthy Christian fellowship. Find yourself a good church. If the pastor where you attend church now doesn't preach the Bible correctly, find another fellowship. Find another church to go to where they teach the Bible accurately in a spirit-filled manner. We must find healthy Christian fellowship and create new Christian foundations. Do we really need fellowship with other Christian believers? Yes. Absolutely yes. Christian fellowship is one of the essentials for us to work together to encourage one another and help each other get to heaven. That's so important. And I hope that you will find a fellowship, a church, a body of believers that you can find support in and encourage each other so that we all go to heaven and follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through those pearly gates.
