The newest God’s Promises podcast, “Eternity,” invites listeners to lift their eyes beyond the pressures of today and remember the breathtaking hope God has prepared for His children. Scripture makes it clear that eternal life is not a distant idea—it is a present promise for all who believe in Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Eternity is not something we stumble into by accident; it is a gift offered through the love of God, secured by the sacrifice of Jesus, and received by faith.
Jesus speaks with beautiful clarity about this promise. In John 6:47, He declares, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.” Notice the word hath—present tense. Eternal life begins the moment we place our trust in Christ. It is not merely life after death; it is a transformed life now, anchored in the assurance of what awaits us. Planning for eternity means living with purpose, hope, and confidence, knowing that heaven is our true home.
In John 5:24, Jesus deepens this assurance: “He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” This is the heart of the gospel. Through Christ, we cross from spiritual death into eternal life. That truth reshapes how we face trials, how we love others, and how we prepare for the life to come. Heaven is not a vague dream—it is a promised destination for every believer, a place of joy, rest, and the fullness of God’s presence.

Hey Pastor Edden, I'm one of your listeners and I love your show. Got nine minutes? Let's open the Bible and be inspired.
SPEAKER_01I've got good news for you. After this life, your spirit will live forever and forever and forever in eternity. That's what we're talking about today. That's our topic on God's Promises Podcast. I'm Pastor Ed Brady. Let's start with John three sixteen. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, and whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John three sixteen, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, and whoever believes in his son, Jesus Christ our Lord, will not go to hell, but will go to heaven. That's John three sixteen. Next let's look at John five twenty-four. I respectfully suggest that you write down the verses that we're giving you on today's video so that you can study them in your own personal Bible study time after our nine minute video is over. John five twenty-four. Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has everlasting life and shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death into life. Now there's good news. We're talking about everlasting life, and everlasting life is mentioned in John six forty seven. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life. A quote from the lips of Jesus in John six forty seven. Most assuredly, I say he who believes in me will have everlasting life. That's our topic today, eternity. We rarely think about eternity. As humans we think in terms of living fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety years. But after this life is over, we'll live for thousands and thousands of years in a place where there is no time, where there is no pain, there are no problems. In heaven, those who choose Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior will end up in heaven forever and forever for eternity. And those who reject Jesus, well, they've got a different fate. First John 5 20. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Eternity, that's our topic. Again, 1 John 5 20. Write that down if you like. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. In God's promises we study Bible, a hundred percent Bible, and God's promises, and the answers to God's promises are always yes and amen. Second Corinthians one twenty. The answers to God's promises are always yes and amen. In the Bible there are thousands of God's promises. Today's topic eternity. John six fifty one. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, and the bread I shall give is my flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. John six fifty one. Now in today's world we take communion. We use the bread and the wine to symbolize the body and the blood of Jesus Christ. But symbolically we are making this verse come true, John six fifty one. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, and the bread I shall give is my flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. Psalm twenty three six is the next one to write down if you're writing down the scriptures. Psalm twenty-three six, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm twenty-three six. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and forever and forever. Our topic today, eternity. On God's Promises Podcast, I'm Pastor Ed Brady. We'll be back right after this.
