On this weeks episode, we paid respects to the victims in the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. We took a look at the recent transfer news with big names moving for big fees in Fernandez and Anderson. This led us to having a full on rant about Man Uniteds lack of transfer activity. We then took a look at the round of 32 in the World Cup with a few games already played. As always we finished with listeners questions before a look back at the League of Ireland.

Welcome back everyone, episode forty-five, lads in the sideline podcast. It's me, Connor, as always, joined by Brother Shaw. How's everybody getting on? Welcome back. And a bit up. Oh great. Fan landers have designed a sport, so we'll have to digest that, let me tell you. Yeah, we're doing this. We were alright out doing the hour again. Yeah, we're doing this on Tuesday, and I was after saying there a little while ago that Fernando has gone to sport, so I think when we're doing our little transfer section, we might have a little rant about United. One bit of news, that's all I could find. That's it. Well, look at the World Cup is taking on, yeah, isn't it? You could delve into the World Cup, you could delve into other sports that you're not even. No, there's no point you'd be dragging things out that you don't want to drag it out for no reason. Exactly. Yeah, no, I just wanted to thank everyone for listening over the last couple of weeks and um sending Sean in his questions and whatnot. So they've been very good and fairness, you've gotten a lot of them, haven't we? A lot of feedback, yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's uh it's early July, so nearly a year down this already. Yeah. It's great, isn't it, fans? I do enjoy the one of the two of you. But we've just got to show you how fast the time's gone in, isn't it? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, look, I say we'll start with our news. There's only one bit of news I could find for the whole week. Um I usually write it down to my phone as I'm going along over here and just for our own thing. Like women all start, but should we look you know what the child was just playing last night? It'd be only one that would be more interesting. I'm not even changing the ship into Spark on. Don't even know you want it. I need to. Do you know what I mean, like? Like for some of you like that, he's one of the old ones that's that's probably a 40 odd, is he? Yeah, probably. But like must be like even that as news would be news, but just look at the World Cup is just taking off everything, isn't it? Yeah, but uh the only bit of news I have is this terrible sad bit of news. But they have a couple of footballers in Venezuela, did you say that? The earth kind of over there. Oh yeah. Some of their families died, like do you know what I mean? The uh the wives and kids and stuff, so test for isn't it? We said it last week, didn't we? And whenever there's a death and so we said our condolence, so that's a tragedy, isn't it? Yeah, and all the thousands of selling this and that. It's unbelievable. See that these and like there's me thinking of like being being probably a bit stupid, that you go like predict these airquakes now with modern technology and all like that, like that they could warn people. Oh, places like that, maybe. I don't know. See, that's this is where the world has gone a bit mad since COVID, isn't it? So is it a coincidence that happens in Venezuela after America what attacked Venezuela and all this sort of stuff? Like the information made hell, you wouldn't know. Is it a man made airquake and suffix? You know what I mean? Like you wouldn't know what you're looking for. But that's that's where that's politics. We always tell me what we're into, but yeah, it's just a bit of a conspiracy theorist there. There is the trade they're all woke out, isn't it? Conspiracy against Argentina, I'm telling you now. That's something going on there. Oh, with the draw? Yeah, it's ridiculous. Like I was reading something today, I'll have to double check it now. I should probably should have double checked it. Um Argentina have got seven penos in the last ten World Cup games, I'll be right. Oh see, yeah, we're surprised. Well, I know Messi's cording to the final and all, didn't he? And you get one in this two in this one so far. I think he missed one. Yeah. Did he get another one? I think sure, but they're looking at the likes of Brazil. Brazil have like 13 in the last 10 years or something. You know, it's something mad, you know. We'll have to double check that, but it's just some mad stat out there. That uh let's just I don't know. You can never approve these things. We're not the only ones thinking it. Look, you could you could look at the load. It's like somebody asked the question last week. Do the good players like the world class where special treatment? You do. There's always something somewhere along the way that you can. The ref uh the goalkeeper just stepped out the way, it looks like he just stepped out of the way. Yeah, it's like it's mad very good beating my pants ever alone. Yeah, you never know, yeah. You did all Pigal Lopez might get an old goal or two, huh? But uh yeah, look, we go back to the World Cup now in a second. We're gonna have a rant force about United's transfers or lack thereof, I suppose. Er, you touch another team's force, just some sort of came out of blue. Harry Wilson, signing by Leeds for a threat-free transfer. It's a good move from there. It really is. Sign up for Leeds. Sign up by Leeds, eh? He's only 29. Yeah? You could be there for four years, five years. Yeah. Good player, good established player like that, like in the premises, so yeah. Maybe a bit of a difference for a move from London to Leeds, but if you look, you can over that, aren't you? Well you have loads of money, so it wouldn't be worried about the price of the difference. You say when you're on to Leeds, they would be on to London. But London's a rip off, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. Especially in Elf Fulham and all that area like Chelsea, you know what I mean? But I wouldn't say you stuck in anyway. No, no. Er watching the Ivory Coast game there, and it came out yesterday that the mandate shows to go to PSG. Now, I think you said we have a question about him later on, don't we? So maybe we leave that to later on to delve into him a little bit more, but that's uh 90 million euros plus 10 million they're paying for uh for Diamanda. I know we're gonna say this plenty of times, but the prices are out of control, aren't they? Yeah, outrageous there. How are these players worth this after three years? He's only a professional three years. Yeah, then that wore mad yeah. Yeah, he was. He was playing on like some I'm pretty sure I read that he was playing in like the college football in America or something only a couple of years ago. Something like that, he was on like a scholarship or something. But he's only a young for the 19, as you said. Probably with Red Bull. If he's with Orby Leipzig, he was probably with Red Bull, whoever it is, is it New York Red Bulls or Rebecca? And then you know I think it's Sam, like yeah, and then like as you say, like doing all the scholarship football over there, and then and then straight away then after what two years or three years out there, he's nearly worth a hundred million. No way, chance. And then when you're that age is worth that money, it doesn't make any difference. I don't know. Like, don't care whatever you say, you don't know where you're gonna go from 19 onwards and all of that. Like it's no one more than 100 million years. So 2024, 2025, November is the first thing I can pull up on um that's the one football app, it's very good. As I go into the player and you press slide across career, yeah, yeah. That tells you sort of where he started. He's just started in the second division in Spain. Yeah, 2024. That's ridiculous. He hasn't even played 80 matches as a professional. No, he hasn't barely played 50. Jesus Christ. But anyway, yeah, thanks. Arsenal put a bit in arguments last week, 60 million. Now it was rejected. Not surprised. Yeah, now with the the two deals that have come after it. Newcastle is just after what they want now after that, I think. So that'll go up to wherever, that'll go to 70, 80, 90 now over the next couple of weeks. Um we'll start to touch on Man United a little bit, so we're after missing out on two midfielders now. So Anderson has gone to see 116 million pounds. Yeah. It's 11 million more than Royce only. Yeah. So if you look at him in the World Cup, there's not much difference. If Anton, Anderson plays less sideways passes than what Royce does. He actually wants to play forward. I mean he's a good player, he's a good player. You know what I mean like? Then the other one that we missed out on, which we touched at the start, uh Fernandez is called a Tottenham, 85 million. We touched on it last week to say that is he worth it, is he not worth it? But when he actually signs, you're like why did he just why didn't he just go for it? They're gonna have to give that kind of money anyway. Yeah, no matter who you're looking at, Chiumini's gonna be around the same price, yeah. Alex Scott guns around the same price. Well, if you know you might are in from, don't pay you. Who are you gonna go for? Well, the options now you think will be Tanali, Scott, Ciumini, Wharton, and Blaybe. Surely they'll have to get two out of those couple of times. The top two. Well, they get Chewamini for starters and Tanali, but you won't get them two. But you take Alex Scott and and and um Cheomini, you need to get a replacement for Casimir, and none of the rest of them is only him. But I didn't think Fernandes was either by the way, and I didn't think it was worth 85 million either. But I don't care. If Depp was the player they wanted, you know, you should have got him. I don't care. Like it's we have all our own our own opinions to say, right. When I heard it, it was fucking raging. Because at the end of the day, like, what would you say to Alex Fagan years ago? No, I'm not paying the British record fee for for for uh for uh Roy Kane. No way, we're not paying the British record key fee for for Wayne Rooney. And I think myself, but you have to. The fucking when you're best captained. It's the same now, they're just fucking the hungry showers. I'm not even gonna say what they are what's on my mind because they're gonna go out on the podcast, but I'm fuming over it. I'm fuming over it. They're not they're they're just giving up so easy on these things. They're fucking penny penny pension. They've got the stadium more or less over the line, that's such I know there's a lot to be do between now and then, but that's all they care about. They've got a cut back on everything. Like uh there was there was reports on that they don't want to do medicals and all, they can't do medical show. Anderson um done his medical in New York. Yeah. They can do them because it came out that they'd just because they woke up zone wouldn't stop people getting medicals. They just don't want to fly people down and fly in the back and pay the extra money, they don't want to spend any money. Well, Edison didn't do his medical not many hasn't tell us nothing. He's still not a player. No, that's true, though. Like that's I can't stand them. How we keep keep getting our eyes pulled, but the wool pulled over our eyes. We said it last week, you just teach all the time, and then when they come down and just pull out the ball. How many times are we gonna fall by this? How many times are they gonna miss out on big players? We're never gonna get back to the where we are. What's the point in having this big stadium and not having the team to match it? No, brutal. We said it even Wilcox now, he's probably gonna tell by the Glazers, and the Glazers have us where we are. I only saying to him as well, there you're wrong, to say they're probably saying, because the book might stop with them, and they're probably saying, don't be giving 85 million, no, we can't afford 85 million for a 21 and giving them 190,000 a week or whatever it is. No, no, we can't afford that. The reason why we can't afford it is because of them. Exactly. And all the debt and all. Fuck off, own the club. Yeah, I agree with you. Oh, that's a problem. 200 and odd million or 20 million or something like that. So if them two that are gone now for what 116 and 85, and then Edison for 45, so let's say it's 250, 260 altogether, that's worth it for your midfield. It is, yeah. That'll transform your team. Yeah, you said it, man. They still have to spend it. Yeah, yeah, they're gonna still have to spend it. The 19 now can't spend more. Because what happened is two uh too many, if let's say he wants for him example, for example, if he wants to go to United, Rams really say, well, Fernandez man for this, you're well more established player. I don't care about age rant, give us ninety. Yeah, no, or you can piss off. And Killing and he'll be giving him big away from Fernandes. Yeah, he's on 220 a week as a reason, so they're gonna have to give him 250 at a minimum. And they gave all the midfielders for Fernandez. No, it was it is a bit of a silly price to pay 85 million for him. But he was still like he's the one that got relegated. Twice. So, like you said, all them other midfielders. Automatically they're all 85 million starting price. Scott, Wharton, Belaber, maybe. I don't know. I don't want him to come anywhere near you. I'd rather him not even come if we don't get the midfield. He can just stand there with a crutch. Yeah. Fucking love, keep him waiting the fucking thing. But like that, if right they turn around and say 85 million for him, you can't let they just back themselves into a corner every single year, don't they? Same with McGuire years ago. Didn't want to pay the money and he paid it, didn't want to pay the money for Pogba and he paid it. How many times last year was it was a Q and Bemo? Bemo like five weeks and you end up paying what they always even pay. He but has a made up, he wouldn't go to give the money four years ago, Raven. The end of paying 65 million on Anthony. Yeah, and Anthony 85 million and him as well, and and then uh George Sancho for him as well, or the 85 million. So I know they're probably cautious of doing days of that again, but like the how did they not see that the right man of all for these players? Yeah, same players are out there that water, yeah, and you want to bring a club back out to pay you. It's the gone, right? And I know looking clear, people out there, and I said to him a minute ago, right, there's not that many, if there's 20 Anderson out there well a good, that'll bring the fee down, I think, because you'd say, Well, but should we do 120 minutes? You think he's as good as him and we give him 90? Because the competition will be a lot a lot more out there, yeah, you get them but you there's very few and far between that are are are established players that would fit and be brilliant at top clubs in the Premier League. So so then so then these claims that have these players can ask that price. So then if you said if that price goes up, do you know we have money from the television right now and Champions League football and all and the sponsorships? Do you know we have the money? So that's why they're asking these stars of bleeding price. 65 million or 70 million for some uh for um Semenyo in January. Where's that gone? Yeah, where's the 80 million you're gonna spend a blade the last summer? I I can't stand them, as I don't know what where we're gonna go. I just don't know what I'm just keeping I always try to be positive about, but I'm just keeping hopes low. Yeah, and if we don't sign big midfielders, Spores are not gonna finish 17th last year. I'm telling you now. No, next year, not next year. Next year, sorry, yeah, the same as that you won't. So they're gonna be right back in the mix. Chelsea, no European football, dude? No, they'll be. They'll fly up, they won't they won't finish 10th either. I've got people they find players, you know what they're gone for as well the way they're gone for they'll find the money. Well, a lot a lot of teams need players that we're gone for. Like you couldn't need a new midfielder. Chelsea need a new midfielder, it could be two of Fernandez might be. Arsenal looking for it. So it'd be all these players, Scott will be whipped up, Morton will be whipped up, Tuamini might be whipped up and he might stay. So who's that leave it? They'd be gone. All of them be gone. I mean missing. You pay 90 million for Harvey Barnes, that's what we'll end up doing. Yeah, yeah. Look at it now. If there's any listen at all, they have if you want one of them players, you're gonna have to pay that kind of money. I don't care what you think. Yeah, it's or this club is gonna go backwards. And this is this is a backwards step, if you ask me. It's a gone, right, at the moment, and you have to pay it. How Spores went out and signed Van Henk Fernandez and possibly Tanali. Tonaly wanted to go. Tanali wants to go, and there's a question later on that there's gonna link into this and I wanna ask you now. So I'm gonna like you know what it'll make sense. Yeah, but Tanali, like, like see, that's what I said to him. Like, the journalists out there, if one thing is you haven't got a clear what they're talking about, because a couple of weeks ago they were saying he was a shoe into something united and all right so they're waffling on over there, so you haven't got a bleeding clear what they're talking about. So I wouldn't even would you do Tanali either like saying that like he's gone to sports and all, like wherever they could not say, just say, you know, you should if the yeah, you know, you should then hijack that deal. Yeah, exactly. Simple stuff and pay the money because you said it's the going right. You need a ready-made to play some of Casamira. What are they thinking? Are they thinking they're gonna get a 45 or 50 milfon pound player to fit to fit the build? There's nobody out there, lads. No, you get your head out of the air out of the sand before there's no one left. Yeah, yeah, no, you get them. It's generally Unbelievable. And the people in Ireland understand this, it's like United are shopping at Gaines and Pennies and other clubs are going to brown tunnels and arnets. Yeah, yeah. So you get what you pay for, and that's where it is. Yeah, I mean simple as that, yeah. Yeah, brutal, ridiculous. But sure, look at it. And like that. Edison's not signed you. So he'll sign eventually when Brazil get knocked out in the World Cup. But just say two mini's next August by the time he signs, because he'll go on his two-week break after the win it, just say, by the end of July, two-week holiday, medical. We won't see him play at Crow Park.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

Then you have Tanali, Wharton, and Hall sitting at home. Why did you just sign the trade on? This is ridiculous. Over the next four weeks, if they can only do a deal at a time, do one next week, one the week after, one the week after. And put a big statement out there. I don't really need it now, but that ruffle up the Jesus United, I definitely know they're not back, but they don't want to use them words. That would put a big statement, but no, we're losing transversal sports. You see where this can go. They may be there on the whole days, maybe they're just on the yacht somewhere counting all of our money. Yeah, well, then we go to the show. We keep saying the Wilcox as either the Glaives or as racked to don't spend the money, just say, but Wilcox is obviously a brutal as well. If he can let these players all slip by helps, yeah, and he's supposed to be the fella that brought in and this is Southampton and all, and brought them through there and sold them onto West Ham and all this ballocks. Yeah, it means nothing. Yeah, I mean, like, but money talks, obviously, West obviously sports paid more money. Yeah, that's it. That's right. And then and and then I'm not even saying to say, like the younger himself, then he could have said, Look, I want to go to United, that's my dream to him. So he didn't really care. Do you know what I mean? Like, no, that's not the point. United should be going out and getting them and convince them. Like, do a bit of talking and convince these players to snipe united. You're not going to get every player saying, Oh, I don't know what's not even, I don't know what's going on. Do you have a place that one that just won't be united? And there's a little battle. Quit and win the battle. You have to convince players. Yeah, they don't sell their project to win the battle and get them into the club. Yeah, like you said, I know we give out if they spend, just say they were giving them 200 million and United only wanted 150. 50 grand a week is a it's add up for footballers, like further down the line, like so okay. Did I get I don't know, someone look I'm still hopeful as a couple of decent players out there, but we're already Anderson has gone and and Fernandez has gone. And David David have two targets that they've talked about for the last nine months with Anderson and the last nigga month with Fernandez and didn't get them. So I don't know what it's on the. But there's a makeup call. Yeah. Right. And that's it. Very last bit of transfer news for United. Or Nan has got back out on the own. One positive, that's about it. A guard they thorough is his ACL in the year, so we'd have to replace him regardless. But like we won't get back into that. That's why we're fuming as well. Yeah. Absolutely. But we have to replace him regardless. I don't know if anyone was going to ever buy him. So I decided if I don't wish bad on him, but like we have to replace him now. Do you know? I decided him now. I would have just tied it with him in loan. I don't think he'd buy him, like where I was saying he's useless and he's pretty he'd buy him, you know what I mean? I don't think he will. I have a funny feeling to try to bring him out Fletcher and use him as the Fort McFailing. So what you'd think they'd only buy another one. I'd take an old pizza off Capaverdi. No, he can't buy one. And you can't be using it. He can't be using Mason Mel Gower as a centre as a centre midfielder either, because he proved he's can't do it either. And you can't be using Fletcher either as a midfielder, he's not experienced enough at that point. When you have so many good players around you, you know, I haven't got that so many good players around now, it'd be too much pressure on the young line. We want midfielder left. And it's only Kobe Maynow. I think he's a great player, don't get me wrong, he's nowhere near the finish article. No way. And he's a he gets injured as well. But all the kids are like a heaven euro, even Garnaccio just say coming in Highland, Rashford when he was there, May now. No. So like it's nothing new that they bring in someone young and just be like, good luck. You learn yourself. If you're not good enough, go ahead. Well, sure okay. Right, we move on to the World Cup. What about before you go on about Rashford? Come on back to you next time. I think they're probably bringing away back into him. Bring him back into the squad. So you don't do you know what I was thinking about. Do you want to open that window there to be like jumped out with? Because next year we could have Luke Shaw left foot, left foot, you could have Harry McGuire starting centre midfield, and you can have the lower right back, and you can have Marcus Rashford on the left wing. Still and Mason Mellon still playing. Instead of Caslamera. Why are we waiting to sign people? I can you know that I don't I can't get into it again. Many just like to be something happened to them. Them ladies in that club. No, just tell me where they'd get out in the middle. Yeah, if you need to tell any way they'd get out. They fight for smart hand, there should be a big protest. Charge the boardrooms and all like Yeah, because you know why they're not putting that they're doing that as we always say doing it as a business now when they talk more about the football pitch, like for down the road to Manchester, regenerating the big area, which is great for for the area for them and all, but it's no good as a football club with the players on the same for all the fans want to win. What are you gonna do put fucking jelly trophies into it then? You've been fucked all then at that way. Yeah, like because they'd be paying the debt back from the stadium and all this bowl. Yeah, I know. Do you want to start doing something? Yeah, I know. Anyway, rant over, huh? Right, the World Cup last 42 started. Now it started with Canada in South Africa. That was a bleeding brutal match. Yeah, well it was. Now we're glad Canada won only because of the home nation just said one of the good for them to say, right? But when I watched South Africa in the first match against Mexico and you lost and you had to put down how did it even make it through out of the room? Of course you showed you how they're bad fucking the World Cup is so far. And they're given like you you you didn't talk about the country, you're bringing them up, like giving a couple of decent teams. But are the decent teams they got knocked out last night? The Liz of Holland and Germany, you know? No, so I think we sort of mentioned it last week the likes of Belgium, Germany, teams that might have thought they could have won it after the group stages. We said it last week, they're not gonna win it. And obviously, Germany are gone now, they're not to get knocked out. But that could be the result of the whole thing so far, Paraguay knocking Germany. Yeah. And the man was like, you know what I mean? So they're gone, Holland are gone after now I wouldn't say that's a shock because Morocco gone. No semi finals after they technically won the uh thing, didn't he? Yeah. The African Cup of Nations, like so they're decent size. Yeah, yeah, so that's not really too much of a shock. No. But it's not like you look at Jeremy and Holland as football and nations. It's not great, is it? No. Like the Fourth World Cup of round of 42. And I get no, it's better. Sorry, Jeremy. Holland had a tough match. Jeremy losing the paragraph. Yeah, that was terrible. Yeah. No. That was brutal altogether. There is. You wouldn't be surprised if Lidlikes and Nagels will probably leave now or get sacked or whatever it works like. So I'm not a very spot though, haven't they? No, they don't know. No. That's I'm looking at them and has anybody really? No. If you're looking at has anybody got a really standout squad? It's France, I suppose. France going forward, isn't it? There's no complete. Not really, no. But they're playing it later on against Sweden. And then the other game then was Brazil and Japan. It was close for a while, but Japan just offended, didn't he? Brazil might have an old opportunity to get it before then. That was looking at the rings. Yeah. Look at you make you made her in, and if you make her in, like you look at it even you say last night, like we're partying by beating the Jams and Panos. Once you make her in, like it doesn't matter. You can always win the panels in all these competitions. But cup games are are are not like Arsenal obviously won't go back, like they won the league over 20 again, so they deserve to win the league. Doesn't matter what we've been doing. Cup games are just different. They can just put everybody behind the ball and throw them in a panos. Oh yeah. Loads of Japan. Japan are what? Two minutes away, probably from extra time. Yeah. They could have flipped over a bit more. And then you look at Brazil, I think the last time they won a woke up was back in what 2004 or something was it, 2002, or whatever. So I mean that's what 24 years ago, whatever, is it? So they're not big like compared to now. Yeah, yeah. And the main man up front. Where's the natural footballers anyway that years ago? Even that young to come on 19, like his like WebCo big. He was alright, but I mean it's not it's not going to be the big hope of the next ten years for them, like right away years ago. But we mentioned your man that's not a barman in January, didn't we? Ryan. We're like, oh look out for him, he could be decent. He started yesterday for him. Like, come on. Him, Vinitius and Kionia as your front three. No, that's not a good thing. I think they I don't know, like I said, I don't know who they're playing next, but if they get to a quarter final to play someone good. I think they lose. That's it. And we still look at we still France looked like a good side, Spain and and and Argentina. I still think it's between them three. Yeah, I'm mad at the score in there, look at 1-1. Yeah, well, like you look at some of the rest of the round of 32 matches. So Mexico are playing Ecuador, that's 50-50. Yeah. England should beat Congo. Belgium are playing Senegal, that's 50-50 as well. Yeah. America are playing Bosnia. Again, 50-50, but you're nearly you'd be nearly back in America to beat them, wouldn't you? Yeah. France would think it should easily be Sweden. Yeah, Spain are playing Austria. Again, tricky match, but you'd expect them to beat them. Portugal against Croatia. Again, it'd be tricky, but Croatia are all there now, wouldn't they? You would think Portugal should beat them. It'd be well famous. Brazil would play the winner of this. Do they? That's not going to be easy either, is it? No. Either these two teams. No. In the Nazis, that's the way it should be. Yeah. When we say like that's the way it should be. Fairness. Yeah. And then like Colombia playing Ghana again, that's 50-50. And then look at me, have to give it a little shout-out to El Lopez. Playing against Argentina. Yeah. That'd be well come here. Some experience, isn't it? Brilliant. Well, you pick that, I suppose. Like, who would you rather play against Austria or or just say uh just the end of the Croatia shows that like but if you're going to get knocked down, you won't have one chance and one experience in the World Cup. But we like to for him playing the Governor football, play against the world champions. Oh, yeah, playing against Messi. Do you know what I mean? Of course. And all that, like, if you marking him attacking him somewhere on the way in the game, and and should should that's just going to be his experience of a lifetime. Yeah. But you know himself a bit. Picture from him in his room and all that his house. I'm not even saying it like because I would do it myself to say it'd be surprised if he doesn't he go into the Argentinian dress room, win, lose a drawing and get them all to sign something. Oh absolutely. Because it's an opportunity for lifetime for all them Cape Fardy players. He's playing for League of World football, so we don't know where the rest of them play. Some of them are probably playing over there as well, and wherever they play in a league that's probably the same as League of World. So, like to play Argentina and the Woke Cup is brilliant, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Definitely just died the Woke Up, isn't it? Yeah, yeah. Well look at least it's starting to heat up a bit. So you're like, oh that'd be a good game. But you know what? Even the times are a little bit better. We know some of them are like, but six o'clock and then five o'clock, some of them might be on that lake. And so some of them are actually on our area are decent one. Even last night, like uh um match was on a six, and tips was on early like it, and and um Jordan was on at um I know France is on a ten, isn't it? Yeah, that's ten, it's not as it's not five o'clock at night. Yeah, so look at least the World Cup is starting to take a bit of shape, I suppose. Um I just wish the players at United, that's what we'd be gone for, just getting up done. Well, yeah, no, yeah, well, some of them are at home, as we said, but look. Um yeah, that's all in the World Cup, is there? Anything else? No, no, nothing that's catching me about the World Cup just to Cape Fair, they would just say like that's the story. As regards the players now, like I haven't even seen every team play. No, I haven't even seen Paraguay play. So I don't even know what they're like. I don't know if they deserve to be Germany, I don't know if it was a complete shock, or are they as a team they're like maybe they might be leading into a semi-final or something? I haven't a clue. I haven't seen some of them play. I haven't seen Columbia play either. Yeah, you usually have teams in Columbia years ago, they had to eight teams usually. Yeah, yeah. But look at where, as you say, if the matches were in the middle of the night, like a M in the morning, you're not watching them. Yeah, true, yeah. But uh Yeah, look, we move on now to our L questions. You all got a lot of questions in, didn't you? So we'll answer a few of these before we train all we do. Again, um you said have Liverpool dodged a bullet not getting the Monday. No, yeah, you've got to know too much about him. I probably woke up and and and and only would you have to be insane just say they're 2020 what four or five over and he started off his second reason in Spain. November twenty four. No, so even about all that just say alright. He did dodge a bullet because there's no one at 90 more than 100 million, I mean, you mean I don't care what anybody says. And having been watching him, he's alright, he's a good tricky ring on the sale. He's not a replacement for Mousala, that's right. Looking at it if I was a Liverpool fan and he and he bought him for just say 90 million, I'd say he's not a replacement. You need to replace obviously Mousala, and I don't think he don't think he'd be the type. So I think definitely to dodge the bullet, not paying 90 million for him. Yeah, yeah, I think so. I don't think they've dodged the bullet. Don't know much about him. We could all be wrong, but that's too much of a risk. I know that's the price. That's too much. But like so, if he's 90 million, much is the meaning malworth. Yeah, a billion? Yeah. Come on, it's ridiculous. We have to remember the league they're going to know. Brown. That's it. He's playing with Leipzig and Jeremy just say, right. No, he's gonna go to PSG, isn't he? So he's going to France, so we might have four hard games or five hard games. So the rest of them there's a lot of the things that it wouldn't have been heard to say to go to the premiership, every game's gonna be hard. So there's no way I think at 19 Course you dodge the bullet there, I'd say. No, he probably might leave, they'll go to the body. I think Bracola's one of the but again, I mean we only want him the last couple of years as well. Like, yeah, and an impact sort of player on you as well. Like, isn't it sort of like a leftover? Yeah, like a sort of these are all potential now, don't get me wrong, like a massive potential in all these players. Yeah, but it doesn't always come out. But if you're saying a hundred million potential, yeah. If you're paying 100 million, you want to be getting a lease say, yeah. Yeah, yeah, big time, yeah. Yeah, definitely. Yeah, yeah. No one's gonna buy him. If that's they're gone right from him. No, yeah. 200 million, he'd be going what's on the selling actually. I said, oh yeah, Gil file nearly he'd be going back to the Neymar prices and on hundreds of millions. Yeah, yeah. Ridiculous, isn't it? Yeah, absolutely ridiculous. Alright, um X1 Will transfer fees ever be wreck uh reasonable, sorry, again. So will transfer fees ever be reasonable again from Patrick? They were going back to sort of a bit okay. No ads on Aymar and Ean McGuire and Hogband and all these mad signings. I thought one or two were going back to sort of the worst. Even when United signed Mount was like 50 million or something. I was like, oh that's Premier League proven player, like that'd be the worst reasonable enough. No, he's in the prone off the players, you're getting going back up through the roof now, wasn't it? But you know what is there's too much money in the game, that's all it is. They're saying what you thank you way around, but we were talking like getting people just know what all the sponsorships in the game and you're gonna be Champions League to say then your revenue just saying, and and um as I said the sponsors there's some Nike now and I didn't know these they give hundreds of millions to the clubs now. Like, do you just know that the clubs have so much money like that? I can fucking never see the prices going back down. If you want the decent players, you say you have to pay 100 million to start and out with decent players, and yeah. You can never see it come back. Back your regulator just say in England and say, Right, no, no club can spend more than 300 million in the transfer season. Bar regulators come in like that, and you spent 170 million on one player, something you've only under told you to get another three. That's the only way to do it, that's the only way the price didn't come down. Yeah, I don't know. For madness it is. It is, it's not madness. You have to have to regulate it and that's it. What what was the last transfer you thought of as a guy? That's a good um that's a good feel that they paid for him. They're after getting a bargain there. Maybe United alarm and it's only because he didn't never hear. No, that's it. Yeah. Oh I don't know. I was wondering like I wouldn't spend 160 million and never. Did he go, Miss? Or could United still sign him? I don't know, actually. Maybe he could be a player that he could go back in and sign. I don't know, did he might sign him already? Did he did he? Somebody out of early that I seem to be like, I wonder. Get two cheap midfielders. Yeah. That's what I said. Get the two cheapies instead of the fairy liquid. Yeah, yeah. That's all you go for. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe somewhere down the line they might do a leave. Or leave. Keep an eye on that one. Um Darren wrote into us. Have we seen any hidden gems at the World Cup so far? Hidden gems? I don't think so. Has anybody still doing the Japanese players look cool, but they're looking like a school team. Is that young? Yeah. Morocco in the middle? Or is it oh yeah. Algeria. Is it Algeria maybe? Yeah, a man is playing well. That used to play at the United. He played well, didn't he, for Iraq, was it, or Iran? Yeah. In the midfield. But not if that you're talking about yesterday. I can't think of his name, but there haven't he there. There's not a lot of people playing the field. Isn't that like so that like that one's like the old twembers are still doing all right, isn't it? Yeah, that's our last World Cup, but as regards to now like Khmer, like I didn't go back to Cape Verde, and I'll just say in the story, the goalkeeper had a great game, great three games and all this early, but he's 40, so you can't be like as regards to hidden gems, really. But I've seen the one Switzerland game when there was a younger playing centre half or right four, like just for can't remember his end there, but he had a very good game, he's right by 18. So again, I don't know how old he's there, but the man that played by Germany in the middle looks like he could be a big unit. The metcher he plays at the end. He looks like he's a decent player, like you know, it could be looking at him too. He might be a good player, so he's big and good on the ball and whatnot. Slotter back played already in the back of the. Yeah. But going to need it, I'm telling you, Harry McGuire won't be fit all the time. No, the the Lit has a back operation, he'll never be the same player ever again. Martin is Martinez, wait for him to get injured. I don't care who he is. Then you've all in heaven with two kids then. Yeah, yeah, and that's it. Can't rely on that. So we say it. And then they've you've drawn it like it's holding you've drawn this in and saying United's going to be the busiest team with some Americans, you have to be with them. Where where? Yeah, the women's sake. For God's sake. Should they even brutal getting rid of players? Who would you get rid of even? I don't know. Never mind getting players in, we're getting rid of the players. Wait for ACLs, not the snaps before we get into transfers. Brutal both ways, isn't it? Well look, one thing is what's hurting unit but be signing any hidden gems in the World Cup anyway. No, for God's sake. No. Maybe you know what, maybe when we're coming out to the knockout stage and you look at more of the football, you might spot one or two now. Well, here's the problem. You might be able to answer that question next. If the Amanda's 19, he should be a little hidden gem, he's already 100 million. But he's not really a hidden gem. He's not really a little gem. That's what I mean. So there's no all the kids, all the youngest should be hidden gems are are already established at Corbett. But he's not really a hidden gem because he plays at Barcelona. Corbassi, I think his name is. I think he's only 19 or something. Plays the Spanish centre half. He's a good footballer and he'll be he'll just take it out from PK now in the next 15 years or something. And that's it. And he's ever gonna leave Barcelona. You know, them Academy players go through, they might leave duty, so but other ones we might we might know more next week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No Pez, I'd be very surprised now what age he is, would he be still playing by Shan McRobers or he or he's three, so he's yeah, he's still three or four years old than me, I think. No, no, no. So he's probably got third, yeah. So his age might be just two. Sure he's played well enough uh Sean McRaw. Well he has a nice little knife. Yeah, yeah, well look he's the captain, I think. Of course, Alan, was it? This is the third match he's played at the World Cup, and that's his fifth goal. There's your hidden gem there, look at Arland. I don't know who he plays for now, but someone should sign him, for God's sake. Yeah, yeah, no, yeah. Alan again, right? Good to see the big players are starting to show up though, yeah. That must be about four goals now, he has this for the well in fans. I think it's four. I don't think he'll ever win it. But we'll have a surprise. No one would maybe give him Norway a chance, would he? Yeah, yeah. True, defence. You know what I mean? So but look at with him and the team, you look you get your goals, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So um Lame writing was the biggest surprise at the World Cup. I'd rather say K Ferry. It has to be. Yeah, yeah. Apparaguay beaten Germany, yeah. They've they've done well enough. I'd say Canada and America and Mexico as a whole, as like the hosts. I didn't think they'd pop that group. I'll go through. Yeah, and and actually it's a good World Cup like for for one and all like like if like and the stains and all they sound like announcing this the attendances and they're all like 70,000 plus and 80,000 plus. I think the bureaus on the telly, like it's taking America by spam, like watching football on the telly on the really two big stations. One of the push America as much as they can in terms of referees and stuff, you know, we wouldn't know. We're South Korean thousand two, was it? Yeah. They may do the semi-finals or never made them. Yeah, well, yeah, yeah. One of them might. Yeah, I don't know. Host stations usually talk remarkable that today. And if anybody had three host nations, you would be thinking that Mexico would be the strongest one. Mexico and England can beat each other up high if Mexico win the next game and England when the next game they'll beat each other. And then somewhere up in the sticks like that'll be well at high altitude. Mexico City, yeah, wouldn't it be anything? Yeah, so you know what? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'd go with them three as a whole, as the host nations. I think we have a very day, yeah. Yeah, it's a bit right to do that. Well nobody thought he'd even score a goal for the game. No, never mind qualify for a play Identity. Obviously, it wouldn't give them any chance, but we said a second, it's a dream fixture, isn't it, for all the players? Yeah, definitely. Sean C wrote into us, he said we can probably answer this, but we can say again if you want. Will United sign an extra midfielder because of Ugarty's injury? Yeah, well, I don't think he'd have to sign him in because I didn't think he'd even get much of a game in anyway. Oh, they have to, yeah. So that's the easiest way to put it. I think you have to sign three. That's it, but they are if you have Edison done, which is not, but we take it that he is done, um you have to sign another two. Simple as that. They can't only have three midfielders. I don't give a shite when he says they can't only have three midfielders. Yeah, I don't know. I just now on United the way we do, I just can't I I have a funny feeling that they'll sign one and they'll just try push the thing. Yeah, they'll just try to push a man Fletcher as much as possible, and we'll all buy into the he's an academy player, he might do something and do this. No, and McTomney was there and they're like, Oh, he might do this, or game he might have. He can only be coming on when United win a three now. Yeah, yeah. And then when there's no pressure, he can't be coming on to do anything. Oh no. It's not fair in him. No, that's what I'm saying, it's not fair on him. Too much pressure on him. Sure, it's not fair to May you know now, he's in the team probably three years. Yeah, like an education. It's a bad yard in the midfield. That's what you need to disolder out this year. We said it, we don't care, you need to disolder out. Now we give them a little bit more time because there's still players out there, but we're disappointed because that they're losing the first the first two, uh forced choice players, which is ridiculous. Absolutely, yeah. Um Phil rowing to us, will um Tutel regret not bringing certain players? Well, you can't say that because if they win the World Cup then you can't have any regrets, they're still in it. And you expect them to be Congo, I'd say. So it all depends, like, but if they get knocked out, yeah, then you could say that we're all teams, then really we're players at the home. But I definitely thought they would have brought um Phil Foden or Judah Fella, what's he calling, or Cap Palmer, because for their individual skills, because in some games that's what just gets you winning. Somebody out of the blue, just do something out of the blue and get you to win a goal. Yeah, if they were poor in the last who might just go. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You definitely looked like they needed something ex extra. Just different scan it. It's like United, isn't it? When United are playing the playing brutal deserve, Fernandes might just do something out of the blue and give a worldly pass or get you a goal out of the blue. Yeah. But them two players, I thought one of them didn't bring in e one of them at least, or Arnold. Like reshangs is injured, is he? Yeah, he's injured. And is somebody else injured? I think Jed Spence is like the only one that can play right back now or something. See, get you go like that. So so yeah. So he didn't bring Shaw or Hall as left back replacements, and he didn't bring Alexander Arnold as well. He's the other one that can do something different. Yeah, yeah. I I yeah, I think if they if they don't win it, or if they play against our I don't know who they can think of me, it's a they lose against the top team. Fair enough, that's the call like the Messi Cup, definitely they'll knock in, they'll knock them out. Yeah, that's no problem. But if they lose against like Congo or something, then he's gonna be slated by not bringing players. So time will tell, I think, Phil. Um if we had a top manager, United, obviously, would we be getting things done quicker from Martin? I don't think so. No, I think the ball is still the same. Sure really. Actually, if you look at that question as a proper question, Barry actually had a lead manager and not a coach, that's the coach place to be bad to play. So if you actually had a manager like Alex Wagon was a manager years ago, maybe because he might demand players. I think a man to Zerby's a manager, yeah. And he's not gone in there to be a coach, look at the players, look at what he's doing. So he's probably badly wagon and saying, Well, I came in here to do this job, I want to be backed, and they're backing him as a manager. So I say, probably, yeah, like if United would have got somebody in that was established manager, he might have been able to say to the board, well, I will come in, like now it has to be well established. Just say then he got the Zerby, he might have been able to come in there and say, Yeah, no problem, but I won't be backed, and I want the players I want, and that's it. But the fact that you have Carrie, you you always say John, uh cheap manager backing cheaply as well. That's what's going to happen, I think. So I don't know, I think it would have play a part in definitely. You think if the Zerbi was United manager now, he'd be sitting there not calling or doing that and making noise. We don't know who carry isn't or not, but we just surmise what's going on. Look at the look at the transfer activity of Spurs and look at the transfer activity of the United States. Yeah. So that's all you can do. United are in Europe and in the Champions League there, not and that's supposed to be a big pull. See, so they're spending the money, that's it. They're just they're paying but above and beyond um to get players in and you know, a fair play to them. I'll take my hat off and say, Well, well done, sports. That's it. You say they're ambitious. Yeah. Well not. That's to be done, that's it. Doesn't it? Yeah, yeah. If you're a sports fan, then you'd be delighted. Fuck them, they're showing more ambition than United than anyone put it that way. Absolutely, they are, yeah. But er, any more questions? Yeah, we'll leave it at that for for this week, yeah. Joe, I just want to touch on the League of Warriors 'cause you get a chance to do that, yeah. Er a lot of people have been asking about her if do you like the little segment that we do now with the League of Warriors to throw her in? It's still close, isn't it? Yeah, it is, yeah. Well, Sherman McRovers got a good win last week now. They beat uh Galway 3-1, so they're top. But the Bowers beat Pats. That was a big game, wasn't it? Yeah, so Bows are gone ahead of Pat's two points ahead of them. So from Patz being like nine points behind, but like three games in hand. It's nine points with two games in hand. Yeah, no more. I don't know how many points are bowl. Bows now behind the channel. Seven. Seven of the games played the games play. And then Waterford, we were saying only a couple of weeks ago. Um they beat Sligo, but he got a good win today. They beat Rod 3-2 away. So now they're only three points behind Sligo, or five points behind Rod. So it's close. Both hands. Top and bottom, like. Yeah, well, it's good to see, isn't it? And it's square look, that's like any league. There's what eleven, twelve matches left. When it comes down to the last ten games, anything can change. Pressure. Yeah, to business end of the season, yeah, I was saying that's when the pressure tells, you know. And like what Sharon said last week with the Europe like teams trying to go into Europe. With Pats losing, it just gives delight to Dundark and all a chance to close a bit of a gap and bowls, and that's big win for them, definitely. Like you were saying, if you come second and there you probably you have a chance to probably get into the Europa League more than take the conference league and a big, big, big game, plenty of money like for clubs like League of Worlds. So uh yeah, we'll keep an eye on that over the next couple of weeks. Oh, Cameron Crawlers are just still going on in all again. Fair enough. I assume we do it as a then Argentine. Yeah, through. But uh no, yeah, that's it for this week. We'll be back then next week for what? Episode 46. Yeah. Yeah. And then do we have one more before our little two-week break? Or no. That's next week is the last one, isn't it? Yeah, next week will be the last one. Then we have two weeks. Two weeks. Yeah, yeah. We'll we'll we'll just go stand next week and give people the details. But yeah. So if you have any questions, we'll go through a few extra questions and maybe next week considering you won't be here then uh the following couple of weeks. It's a long year, so we'll take a well-earned break and then we'll get it. You might as well have any other signs. But uh yeah, we'll be back next week. Thanks for listening. That's great. Thanks very much. Enjoy the World Cup games and hopefully England get locked up. Thanks very much. Thanks for listening again.
