4 Steps to Silence the Doubt and Get Back to Building the Kingdom with Impact Today
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
#029// If your to-do list starts running before your eyes open each AM, these are the 4 steps you need to silence the spiraling thoughts and get to building anyway.
That wave that hits you before your feet touch the floor has a name. It's called foreboding, and it is NOT a warning from God about the tragedy waiting for you off in the distance. It's the enemy trying to wear out a Kingdom builder before she even gets out of bed.
The launch you haven't finished preparing for. The kid's project that didn't get done last night. The lunch you're not sure you'll even get to now. In this episode of the Jesus Girl Gang Kingdom Business Podcast, I'm walking you through the 4 steps I use to shut that deluge of lies down before it convinces me to quit on the day, so I can actually get up and build, with clarity and power, what God called me to build.
Here's what we get into:
→ STEP 1: REMEMBER. Why the very first thought you think when you wake up decides whether the enemy or the truth wins your morning
→ STEP 2: THINK. The one verse that flips "there's no way I can get this all done today" into "I can do all things," and how to make it stick in your brain, not just your Bible app
→ STEP 3: SAY. The declaration practice that turns a circumstance that feels impossible into one that feels possible, straight out of Romans 8:28
→ STEP 4: TRUST. Why the enemy is coming back with this same attack tomorrow, and the simple rhythm that means you never start from scratch fighting it off

This is the Jesus Girl Gang Kingdom Business Podcast, where faith finally meets real strategy to launch your online business. I usually release a word to my business community, my business mentorship community on Thursday mornings. And so that's what I want to do this morning here with all of you is to really encourage kingdom builders. So if you find yourself in that position, it doesn't matter if you are building a business, that's great. But you could be building a ministry or you could be building a family, you could be building whatever that purpose is on the inside of you. Because one of the things that I teach inside of my women's ministry community, so I've got a women's ministry called Revive Woman. And we talk about the Proverbs 31 woman. So I mean, if you are a woman in the kingdom, you've probably heard about the Proverbs 31 woman. Who's that? Go to Proverbs 31 and read verses 10 to 31, and you will find this woman. Her name is not known. We don't name her in that passage of scripture, but we do know that she's got five pillars of purpose. Five pillars of purpose that you can find when you read through Proverbs 31, verses 10 to 31. What are those five pillars of purpose? Number one, she's a godly daughter. Number two, she's a godly wife. Number three, she's a godly mother. Number four, she's a godly sister friend. And number five, she's a godly entrepreneur. All five of those pillars of purpose exist inside of this godly woman. If you want a picture of the Proverbs 31 woman in the New Testament, anybody know where you can find that? Has anyone ever heard where you can find the Proverbs 31 woman in the New Testament? It's one of the best places. Like you could probably find the story of her in various people, various women in the New Testament, but there's this one place that it just resonates so clearly for me, and that's found in Luke chapter 8, verses 1 to 3. So this is a passage where it's talking about Jesus traveling to the different cities and villages for his ministry to minister to the people. And it says that there were these women, and it names a few of them, but it's these women who traveled along with Jesus and the ministry that he was doing. And it says they provided for him, they provided for the ministry of Jesus out of their own substance. What? Yeah, yeah. In the New Testament, there are women that traveled with Jesus in his ministry, and they provided for that ministry out of their own substance. There we go. That that's a that's a five pillars of purpose kind of woman in the New Testament. Godly daughter, godly wife, godly mother, godly sister friend, and godly entrepreneur. So there are these aspects of us as women, godly women, that we we we contain all of these things on the inside of us. Now, one of the things that happens, listen, listen, we get up in the morning, and I believe that we tend to get overwhelmed because we've got all of these things on our plate. And it's it's not random. And listen, listen, listen to me right now. It is not an attack of the enemy that you have a lot of things on your plate. So, like, we do not need to be calling everything a demon. We don't need to be calling everything like an attack of the enemy. The fact is, God made you with five pillars of purpose on the inside of you. That that's how He made you. He made you as a multifaceted, multi-passionate, multi-able woman of God. And so you've got all of these different pillars of purpose on the inside of you. But sometimes when we wake up and we've got tasks to do in every single one of those pillars, we start to think to ourselves, I can't do this. And those are the moments when we wake up and we feel, we feel the sense of anxiety, overwhelm, despair. Here's a big one: foreboding. Foreboding. Foreboding is a big one because what foreboding is, is it's you have a thought and you assign meaning to that thought to mean something bad is gonna happen as a result of what's running through my brain. Something bad's gonna happen. And the place where foreboding comes up is because somewhere in the past, we had an experience where we had similar circumstances and something bad happened. And so now we look at those circumstances that are happening, and we and we start your brain is designed to look for patterns. Your brain is designed to look for patterns and to and to put meaning together very quickly because it's trying to keep you safe. That that's like its primary goal is like keep you safe. And so it will automatically go looking for memories and piece those things together and say, what does this mean? And if your brain is telling it, well, the last time, the last three times, the last ten times something like this happened, it was super bad, well, then guess what? Your brain is gonna be like bad, bad. That's foreboding, that's foreboding. But here's the deal: we have got to learn in the kingdom how to address foreboding, how to address those immediate feelings of anxiety and despair and stress and panic and terror and frustration, there's a way to handle that. Now, before we go there, I do want you to know that, like, even though the multifaceted version of you, the five pillars of purpose that God built onto the inside of you, um, and remember, these are five pillars of purpose, not five purposes. You have one purpose in Christ Jesus, you have one identity, one purpose. You can have multiple assignments across your life, yeah? But you've got one purpose. And then these pillars are in these different areas of your life, these different facets of your life. And so we've got to remember like, you are not, you don't have multiple personalities. You do not have to uh break yourself into these five different pieces. You've got one purpose, and it serves in all areas of your life. Okay, so don't get overwhelmed by that. You got one purpose and um one identity in Christ, and then you've got these different assignments, these different areas that God is calling you into. And so what that means is that you don't have to be firing on all cylinders in all five pillars of purpose every single minute of every single day. But I can guarantee you that if you do have these five pillars active in your life, then you're gonna, he's gonna call you to do some things each day. You're not gonna major in every single one of them every single day and every single moment, but you've got to have some capacity on the inside of you to be able to address these different areas. Come on, come on, get into the comments and let me know. Have you experienced this where you're feeling like I have to be perfect at every single aspect of my life today? Everything is calling on me to be perfect. Because that right there, that's not God. Even though He's given you one identity, one purpose, and He's given you these five pillars of purpose and he's called you to do things in these different pillars of your life, that doesn't mean that you've got to do them all at the same time and you've got to do them all perfectly. Where's that coming from? Where's that thought coming from? Where's that unction coming from? It's not coming from God. It is not coming from God. Where is it coming from? Let me show you scripture. Go to Daniel 7.25. Go to Daniel 7.25. Now, this is a passage of scripture that talks about end times and it talks about how the enemy is going to operate in the end times. But can I tell you something? You're kind of in the end times. Jesus came, he died on a cross, he went into the grave, the power of God resurrected him, yeah, yeah. And then he ascended into heaven. We're now in end times. So don't get all like tripped up by the fact that it's like, oh, you know, like end times means that the he could come back at any moment. He started end times when he ascended into heaven and said, I'm coming back, I'm coming back. And so we live in a period of time where Jesus could come back at any moment. This is the end times. And so when we're looking at scripture and prophecy in the Bible that speaks to end times, in in all of those places, you can be like, that's possible right now. That could be happening right now. And when it comes to Daniel 7.25, it says that in the end times, the enemy is gonna try to change the times and the seasons. He's gonna try to change the government of what's happening in our earth. And in not being able to do so effectively, look at what it says next. What is he gonna do? And in trying to do that, and probably not being able to do it as perfectly as he wants it to happen, guess what? He's going to wear out the saints. You're a saint. You if you believe Jesus, if you're following Jesus, if you've got the Spirit of God on the inside of you, listen to me. You are a saint, and he's gonna seek to wear out the saints. So listen, if you are a woman of purpose, if you're a man of purpose in the kingdom and you are all about your purpose and walking it out by the power of God, not by your might, not by your strength, but by his power, right? Come on, Zechariah. And so if you are intending to do this, then here's the deal. If the enemy cannot kill you, if the enemy cannot take you out, what is he gonna do? He's gonna wear you out. He's gonna wear you out. And so you've got to be aware that that's where the enemy attacks you. It's not in your multifaceted design, it's not in the fact that God gives you an assignment and multiple assignments in a day to get done. It's not that when you're when you know that you are a wife and you are a mother and you've, you know, got your friend situation going on, and then it's like, oh my goodness, now I also have this entrepreneurial drive on the inside of me. I've got this desire to build a business or a ministry or to actively build my family or the church that I'm a part of. Like those all go together. But that feeling of overwhelm that comes on you, that's from the enemy. Because if God gave it to you, then he's gonna give you what you need to do it. If God gave you something to build, he's gonna give you every good thing that you need on the inside of you to build that thing, to do that thing. And if it's a business, if it's a ministry, then yeah, there's gonna be aspects of I have to vision, I have to plan, I have to implement, I have to build, I have to launch, and then I have to scale. These are actual practical steps in building a business or a ministry in this earth. Just because it's a kingdom business or ministry doesn't mean that you get some kind of like fast track, you know, and it just falls out of the sky. That's not how it works. That's God designed you to be able to build this thing, and he designed you to be able to do it multifaceted with multiple things going on in the same day. And he designed you to be able to do that without getting overwhelmed. So, how do we do this? Because now we know that the enemy is coming for us because he wants to wear us out. What are the things that we can do? Well, I've got some things for us, okay? I've got four steps for you, but first, before we get there, I want to remind you of a core verse that we've been working on since Monday since Tuesday. Okay, so I told you on Tuesday when we got on here that I wanted you to read this passage of scripture and I wanted you to tuck it somewhere because we were gonna be coming back to it. Are you ready? I'm gonna read it to you. It's Proverbs 3, and I'm gonna read you from verses five to eight today, okay? This this becomes core scripture that we need to remember. This is what Proverbs 3, verses 5 to 8 says. Come on, somebody drop this into the comments as I'm reading, okay? Because we we want to see the word of God just as much as I'm gonna read the word of God, okay? So go ahead and and type it into the comments as I'm reading. It says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. So keep in mind that when we are in this place of like multifaceted, multi-assignment, gotta do the things kind of vibe, and the enemy is coming and he's like, I'm gonna wear you out. The first thing to remember is we're gonna trust in the Lord with all of our heart, and we're not gonna lean on our own understanding because part of our understanding is colored by, is, is influenced by our feelings. But a lot of times those feelings, they're coming out of thoughts that are not from God. And so we've got to not lean on our own understanding. It says, in all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. He will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. This will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. So first and foremost, we've got to remember to trust in the Lord. We've got to remember this Proverbs 3 verses 5 to 8. Someone drop that scripture uh passage right in. Just write Proverbs 3, 5 to 8. Go ahead and drop that in the comments so everybody who's coming on knows where we are. Okay? So now, I've got four steps for you. If you wake up in the morning and you're like, oh my goodness, and you've got that foreboding already going, you've got that anxiety, you've got that stress already going. Here's here's the question. What's possible in this day today, God? Like we're just gonna come right against that. Because the enemy is already in there trying to convince you that bad things are gonna happen, yeah? And so I want you, I want you to establish this discipline in your brain when we get up and get ready with God each morning. The first thing is, God, what's possible with you today? What's possible in this day with you today? Because that's the perspective that we want. As we go forward, I'm gonna teach you something called the four questions. The four questions prayer template. It's not for today, but the first question that you're gonna ask in those four questions is God, what do you see and what do you say? And so the first thing that we can do is we can ask God, what's possible in this day-to-day? What do you see and what do you say about my day-to-day? Okay, now that's for step one is remember, remember this. Out of Matthew 19, 26, someone drop Matthew 19, 26 into the comments. Okay. This is what this is what it says in Matthew 19, 26. It says, all things are possible with God. Because Jesus is talking to some people and they're like, uh, I want this to be true, but it's we with man, this isn't possible. And like this seems so impossible. And Jesus says, guess what? With people, with human beings, yeah, there are things that are impossible, but with God, all things are possible. So our first step is to remember to bring to mind that all things are possible with God. When the enemy tries to come and wear you out with a thought that says, Oh my goodness, this is gonna be a terrible day. There's just gonna be too much here for me to handle. I want you to come at it first with mind of Christ. Remind yourself with the mind of Christ that says Matthew 19, 26. Jesus said, All things are possible with God. So before I go off on a tangent, before I let the enemy spiral me out to say, oh no, no, no, this is what's gonna happen, and you can't hope for the best. Stop. Matthew 19, 29. All things are possible with God. Yeah? That's step number one. Step number two, now it's what I want you to think. It's what I want you to actively cognate on, what I actively want you, what the Bible says to meditate on, to ruminate on. Okay? In Joshua 1, doesn't he say to Joshua, don't let this book of law leave your mouth? I want you to ruminate on it. I want you to meditate on it day and night because this is the place that's gonna keep you safe. And so step two is what you're gonna think actively, what you're gonna cognate on actively, what you're gonna meditate on. And this is Philippians 4.13. I'm looking over at my workspace right now, and I've got this set of books behind my desk, and it has this scripture. It's Philippians 4.13. It says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Listen, your insides are gonna be churning, and you're gonna be like, There is no way I can get this all done today. But you are gonna tell your brain to think this thought. But I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. What are all things? Well, in the Bible, that word for all actually means all. So, what does that mean for us? It means everything that God has called you to. So remember those five pillars of purpose. If he's called you to do anything in those five pillars of purpose today, those five different areas of life, those five different assignments on your life, you can do it because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. So, what I would do in that step is I would think about all the things that I have to do today. Like I've got a lot of things to do today. I've got to record a podcast episode, I've got to um get some content created for my mentorship, I've got to get into my mentorship and I've got to work with the ladies. I had a girl in my mentorship last night who launched her business, and I want to get an update and I want to see how that went for her. And so I've got that. I've got kids that are still home on the summer, but they they've been they've been sleeping in, and I'm like, no, we're getting up at 10 o'clock, we're gonna be, we're gonna read our word, we're gonna get out, we're gonna move our bodies, we're gonna do the things today. So I've got to go check on my kids and I've got to parent my kids. I've got so many things, and it's like I only have so many hours in the day. But the first thing I'm gonna do is remember Philippians 4 13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and I'm gonna think that actively. Okay, that's step number two. What's step number three? Step number three is say, what are we gonna say? So I've been teaching my communities, my discipleship communities in my church, in my women's ministry, in my mentorship. I've been teaching this skill for a very long time. It's a discipline. When you step into something that feels overwhelming, when you step into a situation, a circumstance that feels like it's not gonna work, that's a feeling. That's a feeling, but we know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, right? But here's the next one. Now we look at our circumstance, now we look at our situation and we're like, okay, but I don't have full control of this. God does, but I don't have full control of it. So what am I gonna do next? I'm gonna, I'm gonna speak to it. I'm gonna speak to it. Listen, there is a message from TD Jakes like back in 2012, 2013. I've got it in one of my books around here that I like keep keep track of, like my notes from years and years ago. I I like journal. I journal a lot. And I remember from um 2012 or 2013, he preached this message one Sunday called You Gotta Speak to It. You gotta speak to it. And that's what I think about when I think about step three, because it's you gotta speak to it, you gotta say. And what are we gonna say? Well, this is what I teach my my teams to to say. Are you ready? You look at that circumstance that may feel overwhelming, that may feel like it's impossible, that may feel any kind of way, and you say to it, what's good about you is what's possible about you is, and you fill in the blank, you fill in the blank, I gotta tell you something. This is such a powerful activity to say to say to a situation that feels impossible or feels too overwhelming, to say, but you know what? You know what's good about you is, you know what's possible in you is? Do you know what could happen that's good? Do we have scripture for this? Of course we have scripture for this. We're not gonna put anything out here in a step that doesn't have scripture. Go to Romans 8.28. Go to Romans 8.28. What does that scripture say? It says, and we know that God works all things together for the good of who? Those who love him and are called according to his purpose. Is that you? Do you love God? Are you called according to his purpose? Then guess what? He's gonna work all things together for your good. Now it's not gonna feel like that every step of the way. I mean, think about Joseph in the prison. Come on. Think about Jesus being tortured, being crucified. That don't look like it's going together good, does it? That doesn't feel like it's going together good. But here's the thing the Bible tells us that Jesus said, but for the joy set before him, he was gonna endure those things that didn't feel as though all things were working together for good. Why? Because he believed that all things were gonna work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose. So we can say about a thing, I don't know. And like you can say, like, this doesn't feel like it's going very good. This doesn't feel like I have never seen something like this work out in a good way before. However, I know that God is working all things together for my good because I love him and I'm called according to his purpose. So even now, God, I believe that you can work this thing together for good. So, what's possible that could be good here? And this is a curiosity mindset that's set in faith. It's a curiosity mindset that's set in faith. And so it's okay to be curious in the positive direction. Because guess what? Fear is trying to get you to be curious in the negative direction all day long. Think about it. Like something happens in your body, and all of a sudden you're like, is it is it that? Is it something bad? Am I gonna die? Right? That's curiosity in the negative direction. It's curiosity in the fear direction. But I want you to start getting curious in the positive faith direction, and that's what Romans 828 helps us to do because it's like, no, God can work everything together for good, even what you're seeing right here. And so you've got to start to get yourself in that mindset, and then you got to declare it because there's something about positively declaring in the face of a circumstance or a situation that looks horrible, your declaration in alignment with the faith and the word of God shifts things. I know that a lot of like conservative Christians, a lot of by the book Christians don't like it when preachers and pastors talk about manifestation. But I'm I'm sorry to like rock your boat. I'm sorry to like break your brain right now. But the Bible is very clear. Jesus is a manifestation. He is the word made flesh, came into the world, moved into your neighborhood, and he is a manifester. And when we begin to believe on his word, him as the word, and we speak in alignment with the word, guess what's gonna happen? Things are gonna manifest. That's what we're doing here. So when you speak the word of God by the power of God in faith, you're gonna see manifestation. You're gonna see the word of God manifest in your life. And so if you're looking for something different to happen, which when we're looking at a circumstance that doesn't feel good and doesn't look like it's gonna work out, that's what you need. You need to manifest the very promise, the very word of God, the very goodness of God in your life.
SPEAKER_00All my life you have been faithful, and all my life you have been so so good. I know I'm not CeC. And everything that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God, right? The goodness of God, the goodness of God. Come on, Jen Johnson, come on, CeCe.
SPEAKER_01But you can sing it, you can believe it, you can declare it. Yeah? Because this changes things. So number one is I'm gonna remember, I'm gonna remember that all things are possible with God. Matthew 19, 26. Number two, I'm gonna think, I'm gonna think I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4 13. And then number three, I'm gonna say, I'm gonna declare, here's what's good about this situation, here's what's possible. That's Romans 8 28, because he's working all things together for good. What's step number four? What's step number four? Trust. Now we're gonna have to put our trust in God, just like Proverbs 3, 5 to 8 said. I'm gonna trust in him and lean not on my own understanding. Because the enemy, Daniel 7, 25, he's gonna keep on trying to wear you out. You're gonna get out of the bed after you did those four steps, and he's gonna just be coming for you. He's just gonna be coming for you. So what do you do then? You just do the four steps again. You just remember, you think, you declare, and you trust. You remember, you think, you declare, and you trust. That's it. And you move. Then you start to do the work that God has called you to do in that day in accordance with those four steps. Anytime you hit a roadblock, anytime you feel like the enemy is coming after you again, just go back to the top and you remember, you think, you declare, and you trust, and then you move, and then you move, and then you move. You camp your life around this process. Because here's the thing. I know that we're all thinking, like, well, if God wanted me to do it like that, then he would just come through and he would just make me to do it like that. Girl. God ain't like that. He's gonna work in process because he's trying to refine you. He's trying to define your principles on the inside of you, he's trying to define that discipline on the inside of you. And he uses process to do that. The miracle is that you woke up this morning. The miracle is that the Holy Spirit is in you and giving you the ability to walk out these steps. Those are the miracles. Now we need to walk it out in process, and that's a choice. That's a choice. All right? So this is what we're gonna do as we get ready with God this morning. Is that good? Is that good? Now listen, here's what I want you to do. I posted a reel this morning onto my Instagram. It's just, I'm just at Erica Pyle on Instagram, if you're not watching on Instagram, because I'm also streaming over here on Facebook, and this will actually go onto my podcast today. Um, I've got a podcast for my business builders called the Kingdom Business Podcast, the Jesus Girl Gang Kingdom Business Podcast. And so I'm gonna go ahead and put this over on that podcast, okay? Um, but on my feed today, on the Erica Pyle Instagram feed, I put a reel. It's a picture, it's a video of me tying my shoes and getting ready to go for a walk. Um, but I've I've put these four things that we're gonna do every single day when we feel that foreboding and that anxiety and that pressure coming at us first thing in the morning, these four things that we just talked about. I want you to go over to that post today and I want you to drop the emojis into the comments for the ones that you're gonna be working on, focusing on the most today. Okay. I want to know where are the places of those four, the remember, the think, the say, and the trust. What are the out of those four, which ones do you need to work on? I've given you four emojis in that post that you could drop into the comments. So come over there, let me know that you listened in today with Get Ready with God. Let me know that you listened to this episode, and then I want to hear from you in those comments over on Instagram, okay? All right, I love you so much.
