I would like to start off the new season of Hate to Rate. Join me as I review the great unknown! No not really at all just going through new albums and what vinyl I did get.
Hello everybody, this is another episode of Hate to Rate. We have a new season going on right now. This is my second season. New equipment, new equipment, new sound, better computer. It's gonna make editing way easier. And so I thought I would start off this podcast with a little update of vinyls I got, of just what I've been doing, and pretty much I've been moving and not moving in no place I should have. But uh life happens and I just gotta deal with the cards I'm dealt. I also made another album too, uh Consecrate. You can find me on Reburb Nation, that's about it. And the new album is just a seven-track album. It's called Leave a Scar. And so yeah, let's jump right into it. The first episode I had was Village Idiots, Nickelback, aka and they had a new song in October 24 of 2025 with the song The Church on Cumberland Road. It's a country song he did with Shenandella, and there's another recent song he did, Bones for the Crow. It's like a harder song, hard rock, I would say. This was uh pretty recent, it was March 20th, 2026, and I like this song. It was more like their old style in their verses, but when they got to their course, it was like I don't know, it was like soft leading up to an incline of a heavy course. So it was a pretty good where they're going. Country song could have been a little better, but I see where they're heading with that. And they didn't make an album out of any of those. So just to reiterate what album I got for them in a vinyl was Live from Nashville. The next episode was Train Wreck Nirvana, Puddle of Mud. Uh looks like they haven't been doing anything so far. Looks like they have a new single. Rain. Sounds like it's just West Scotland playing acoustic. So nothing too special on his new single with rain. And I ended up definitely getting an album in a vinyl from them, and I got uh Life on Display. I had to get that one in vinyl. Very good album. I still listen to that one. Then we got the Rainbow Butt Monkeys uh Finger Eleven, and they did have a new album. Yeah, they had Last Night on Earth with songs on it like Adrenaline, Blue Sky Mystery featuring Filter, Cold Concrete, Lock Me Up, Last Night on Earth, The Mountain, Perfect Ethigy, Wall Dogs, Laughing at the Storm, Body and Mind, and again Blue Sky Mystery. This one's without filter. And this was Better Noise Music That was the record label. And the songs I added on it were Blue Sky Mystery featuring Filter. The Mountain. Yep, that's all I added on that. I also did add adrenaline, but that was as a single. Yeah, overrated to underrated songs on this one. I would say overrated would be adrenaline. Underrated would have to be I would say the mountain. The mountain would probably be more underrated song for this album. The album I wanted from them was uh the iTunes, the live iTunes one. iTunes Live from Montreal. I couldn't find that one in a vinyl, so I went with their greatest hits. It's a really good one too. I don't know. I like that live one a little better because it had more energy, more live, and the set list was just amazing. But altogether, a very good vinyl if you're going to look for a finger leven. I wish they added more like Rainbow Butt Monkeys, but I can see why they didn't add that. Then we have our next episode with songwriter Redneck Hardy. He did have a new album that we did not review, so let's jump in to review this one. Yeah, so country country country. So this was in September 29, 2025, with songs on it like Country Country, Favorite Country Song, Bro Country, Luckiest Man Alive, Car That Drove You Away, Girl with a Gun, Buck on the Wall, I would Go Crazy 2, Take the Country and Run Goodbye, Bedroom in the Sky, Oh, we did that with Steven Wilson Jr. Uh Bottomland, good old boy. Who don't? Country and me, gun to my head, keep it country. All y'all need Jesus Dog Ears. We're all gonna die. Everybody does. Country and me, acoustic, take one. Take the country and run, acoustic, take one. Dog ears, acoustic, take one. And this was Big Loud Records, uh UMG recording, uh exclusive license to Mercury Records and Division of UMG recordings. So the songs I added were Country Country, Favorite Country Song, Bottom Land, Country and Me Y'all Need Jesus, Country and Me Acoustic, Take One Take the Country and Run, Take One. And yeah, for overrated, underrated, um an overrated song. Maybe country country? I'd say that's a little overrated, but I think they play Bottomland more, but I would say that is an underrated song. That is a good song for this album. It's more slow, country, it's not so hard or as rock or any other alternative. My girlfriend loves that fucking bottom land song. And I would say that is a good song, excellent song. Uh this album was kind of lengthy for me. It was slow and lengthy, but altogether a good album. The album I did choose for him in a vinyl was Of course, The Mocking Bird, and the Crow. Had to pick that one up. That one was beautiful. Uh one vinyl was black and the other one was white to match his contacts and his eye, so that was fucking sweet. And then let's jump into Ashley's Arrival. This has been my most viewed downloaded episode of this year or last year in general. So thank you guys for listening to that one. I'm awesome. Thank you guys like Post Malone. I don't think I got a vinyl from him, but it would be, you know, F1 Trillion, Long Bed, of course, or it would be the Diamond Collection. Either or that one might be a two. I might actually get both. So I need to quit slacking and get that one. Uh for new songs or anything like that. He has the song Cold and uh Brother with uh Young Boy Never Broke Again. So I don't know. He went back to his rap pretty much. He's going back to his rap, hip-hop, shit. I would like down the road he makes another country album, I would have to say. You know, maybe one with just him and not so much helping with other artists. That was neat dynamic, but I think he can do it on his own if I had to point it out. And that or make a rock, a rock alternative. And then Cold Sword, God Smack. I did not get the vinyl from these guys yet. Uh, if you're paying attention to my episodes, definitely faceless. I would get that in a vinyl. That would definitely be it. And I see they have an upcoming album. It looks like just a live album live at Mohegan Sun. Yeah, it just looks like a live album. Looks like they did pretty good with the set list. I'm digging that. Probably check that out. It comes out in May 1st, 2026. And then Head On Collision All-Time Low. We gotta review their new album too, that just came out. Everyone's Talking. Songs on it like Cold Open, Everyone's Talking, Sucker Punch, Oh No, The Weather, Falling for Strangers, Via Las Vegas Nerf, Sugar with Jojo, Goodnight Crust Levi, Bubblegum, Little Bit, Cigarettes and Sabotage, Cigarettes and Sabotage, Thread Water with Rust and Kelly, Different Languages, and Butterflies. Uh the song I added were just Sucker Punch and The Weather. I did listen to it and maybe it was just after their concert. I was just so hyped up to listen to their other stuff. I did get their vinyl, and like the one I said I was going to get. I got nothing personal, of course. I love that album. And overrated to underrated songs, I would say, on that album. I I wouldn't say there's any going there, you know, for their new one. I I don't think they maybe Sucker Punch, but that could be underrated too. I did see this album did make like number five in the alternative list, so that's kudos to all-time low right there. All my sons, 21 Pilots. Uh they do have a new song. It is called uh Drag Path, which I don't know, kind of slow, progressive, progressively slow, I'd have to say. I did get one of their vinyls, of course. You guys all know. I definitely got trench from them. Very good album. I probably would get blurry face if the opportunity arises. Then we have Barbara Schenkers with Scorpions, and it looks like they do have a new release, Lonesome Crow 26 Mix. It kind of just sounds like they're old stuff still. This was uh a Brian release, Universal Music GMBH. And yeah, that was released in February of 2026. And yeah, for Scorpions, I did get Crazy World. Definitely had to get that one. And Virgin Killer, of course. Had to get that one. I don't know. They should have remixed that one, they should just replay those songs like Virgin Killer, that would be way better than Learn Some Crow. I don't know why they did that. Now we have Final Destination, Whale and Jennings. Whew, those are long two episodes for me. But I did not get any vinyl from Whale and Jennings. But if I did, I'd probably get Will the Wolf survive? That's probably the one album I would get from him. I don't know, I'd probably do a podcast on Shooter. Shooter deserves one, and then I think they have another Jennings that does music. I'd have to look into that, but there's Shooter, and then I think there's Shooter's son. I think he does music as well. He's more of like jelly roll style or like a hip-hop style. It's really good. I should look into him also and do um some episodes on him. Then we have Stone Co Killer with uh Ryan Oaks. Uh I did not get any vinyls from him. Still smackin'. He has another single called The Hero. Still the classic Ryan Oak fucking style. Dig it. I remember the last time the only vinyl I could have got that I wanted, and they didn't have it with SpaceF I wanted burnout, I think. It's like yeah, dead astronaut. Yeah, I wanted burnout. He didn't have burnout, but he said he did have wake up. I don't know. Maybe I'll just wait till he has uh greatest hits or something, I'd probably get that. Or if he does make burnout into a vinyl, and finally, ice nine, aka ice nine kills, featuring Kayla. I did not pick up any vinyl from them actually either, but I know they have new music also. Twisting the knife that they did for the scream new movie. I think the seventh scream they decided to do it for one of my favorite songs, still The Great Unknown. The album I'll still want to get from them. Probably the Silver Scream. So yeah, um, I got a list of bands I'm going to do. I'm pursuing one right now. Uh I don't want to break it, do you? So you're just gonna have to see in the next episode. And yeah, it's glad to be back for another season of Hate to Rate. Thank you.
