In this episode, I will focus on presenting a short summary regarding the heartbreaking accident at Lisbon's Glória Funicular while offering my sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.
This accident has generated a national public debate about infrastructure safety and public spending. However, I won't be addressing those broader policy questions in this episode because I want to keep the discussion respectful and informative, especially since many questions remain unanswered.
Out of respect for the victims and their families, I will only mention the guarda-freio (brakeman) André Marques and the presidente da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (Lisbon Mayor) Carlos Moedas by name, as they are the individuals who have been most present in the media coverage.
