VHS Sisters
A cozy lil' podcast where a big sister forces her little sister to watch and review classic films from the VHS era!
VHS Sisters
Episode 8- The Dark Crystal (1982)
MMMMMMMMMM!!!! Today's episode is SUPER special for us because it took MANY MANY months of cajoling to get Melanie to actually sit down and watch this! And even though The Dark Crystal was not marketed as an actual *horror* movie, we are keeping with our spooky movie theme this month because Melanie definitely got some new nightmare fuel from this film. We yap about more puppet trauma, the importance of high-femme fantasy characters, biodiversity, and manage to sprinkle in some of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey in there for all of you NERDS who listen!
Correction: Saysha says that Jim Henson was inspired by lobster shells to create the Garthim design, when it was actually Brain Froud who was so inspired!
