Glow Up and Get Real Podcast
Is This Really Happening?
In the inaugural episode of Glow Up and Get Real, host Amy Ingle discusses her motivations for starting the podcast, the meaning of 'glow up', and her experiences in the beauty and medical industry. She aims to provide transparency about beauty treatments, share personal stories, and offer insights for both clients and injectors. The podcast seeks to create a community where listeners can learn about beauty, skincare, and the journey of aging gracefully.
Welcome to the first episode of Glow Up and Get Real. I'm Jason. Happy to welcome the host Amy Ingle, the Sweet face injector. Hello Amy. Hi Jason. So let's get started. So what inspired you to create Glow Up and Get Real podcast?
Well, I have a lot of clients that are always asking questions about what I do in the spa. And I have friends that ask me what I do who aren't clients. I also have friends that are injectors that ask me questions. So I just thought, Hey, what about starting a podcast and being able to answer all those questions in essence? I hear you. ⁓ so your podcast has an intriguing title. Tell me a little bit more. What.
What does glow up mean to you and how has the journey, what's that journey look in your life? So glow up is actually a term that is used to kind of, it's kind of a trendy term to define looking pretty. Glow up meaning put on, glow up meaning get a facial, glow up meaning get some botox.
So I wanted to put in Glow Up so people knew that it was about beauty and the journey of just how to age gracefully and just love the skin you're in. I love that. Grow gracefully. Grow gracefully. I think all ladies and men as well want to do that. So what kind of stories or experiences, the experiences are you hoping to share on the show? Well, I'm...
Definitely gonna experience the good, the bad, and the ugly experiences. So I have lots of stories about what not to do, about what I've learned not to do, ⁓ experiences with clients and having to deal with difficult people. Also experiences of having complete joy in my life because I've helped somebody that might have had...
and a like cancer on their face with traumatic surgery and I can help them feel better in their skin just by giving them a little bit of filler or some micro needling or laser. I like it. So what do you hope the listeners will take away from tuning in each week then? I hope that I answer questions of things that they've thought about but never asked. I hope that they learn some new things, new treatments that they could
look into and maybe try. And I also hope I make them laugh. So I'm still curious in the title, how do you do fine getting real? And why is that the core part of this podcast? Well, I mean, the only way to talk about what we do is to get real because we need to be completely truthful about how we do our procedures, how we do consults.
Like I said, the good, the bad, the ugly. I just want to be completely transparent about the medical industry and the things to look out for, the warning signs, and also to know what's safe out there. That's great. What challenges or real moments caused you to build this community then? Well, I'd say being a nurse for 30 years.
I've been around a lot of situations, worked in the pediatrics, neonatal, worked in adult, ICUs, the ER, I've done a lot. so I wanted to like, just go into another field. aesthetics is great because they're people who are well, they're not sick and you can help them in other ways, such as their self-esteem.
I would imagine professionals in your industry would be interested in this podcast, right? So for sure. So who is this podcast for? what makes it different from others out there? Yeah. So it is for the client, the patient. It's for someone who wants to get into injecting is for the injector. So anyone who's been injecting for several years, I think you can still get some great information about.
⁓ some research that we've done, some things that we've tried in the spa, funny laughs with clients and questions and just a lot of neat situations that we could talk about. I also think ⁓ it would be good for someone who's wanting to start a business because I do talk about business in the medical spa. have a marketer that's going to be coming on.
She is amazing. When I say marketer, she actually is like a rep for one of the drug companies. And so she has a lot of cool things to say about how to run a spa business and how to actually put yourself out there. So there's some really good tips that I think that I am gonna be able to share. And I hope that others get out of it what I can give into it. That's awesome. Yeah. So you're imparting a lot of wisdom.
So to wrap things up real quick, what's your sweetest tip of the day? Well, I always say to all my injectors that work for me, always go natural. Love it. Don't overdo it. Don't put too much filler in their face. Absolutely. Don't give them too much Botox. Make them look natural and match it to their age. Match it to their lifestyle.
Go low and slow. I always say go low and slow because don't put too much in at one time Let them get used to the transformation. I would agree with you It sounds like your podcast is gonna have a wealth of information I hope your journey is successful and a fulfilling one and thank you and this is gonna be awesome Thank you. And I also hope that I don't Drive you crazy saying be quiet up there when you're watching your football. So no drums
Oh, no drums. No, sorry. You're going have to take a break on that one. Well, thanks for joining us, Amy. Thank you. Thank you, Jason.
