Welcome to Glow Up and Get Real. Today I have a special guest. Her name is Victoria Paschke and she comes to us as a client of the Maddie Spa world. So hi Victoria, how are you doing?

Hey!

How's it going?

Hey, I'm so glad you could come on. Tell me a little bit about yourself.

Victoria (00:57)
Sure, well thanks for having me. So I'm a full-time mama of three kids, twins that are eight and a five-year-old, and I'm a full-time school teacher. And I teach dance part-time and have a lot of doggies in my house and animals in my house all the time. So constantly on the go.

Amy Ingle (01:13)
Constantly on the go, you have a lot of farm animals. You're always bringing eggs into the spa, which we love. And they have the most beautiful eggs. They're so pretty. So delicious too, yes. Well, let's get started. I have some questions as a Medi Spa owner. It's kind of nice to sit down and talk to clients and see how they feel about their treatments, where they've gone other places.

Can you share what motivated you to try IPL, Intense Pulse Light Therapy, and what skin concerns you were hoping to address?

Victoria (01:54)
So when I saw your face was totally the reason why because you're over the age of me and I was like if she can look like this so can I and then saw your face after she had it done and after she had got done peeling because I didn't see her during the process I saw her before and then after the process was done and I was like my gosh what are these girls doing and then I asked you and you were like ⁓ here it is and I said okay sign me up.

Amy Ingle (02:03)

Yeah, and

you've been doing them now like every 30 to 60 days, right?

Victoria (02:24)
Bye.

I

every 60 days, roughly about 45 to 60 days. But the first one I had done was amazing. It got rid of a lot of my spots. That was the main concern of what I was trying to do, but it also eliminated a lot of those really fine wrinkles, which was strange, but because of, you know, some toxin things that I had going on, the, that was great for me. So now I'm like, I just need to keep doing this and it will help with the spots that I have and those little fine wrinkles that we're trying to get rid of.

Amy Ingle (02:55)
Yeah, yeah. you know, living in Florida, this is something that I think everybody should do to keep their skin looking kind of that peachy glow and keep down that hyperpigmentation. So being in Florida, that's important, I think. We're trying to stay, you know, keep your skin looking younger and healthy too. So ⁓ did you have any concerns about pain or downtime when you got Botox or Juvot? And how did you compare?

Victoria (03:03)
Mm hmm. Yes. ⁓

Well, don't want to say.

Botox, yes. I mean, I did because I'm very active. So I'm constantly working out. So I'm a little worried about what my downtime would be with that. But I think I kind of learned after getting it throughout the years that I have to make sure that I work out the morning of because it's always the morning after where I'm like, OK, I'm not going to do anything for the next 24 hours. So that was.

Amy Ingle (03:28)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Victoria (03:46)
My concern, but with Botox, I wasn't too worried. It was more filler. It was more of the injections, the deeper injections.

Amy Ingle (03:53)
Yeah. And with the deeper injections, did you feel like it hurt any more than Botox? Because a lot of people are worried about the pain.

Victoria (03:59)
⁓ no. Not really, not really.

I the Botox actually, I want to say burn more than the filler, at least for me. I think the filler was just more of the tenderness rather than the burning sensation during the injection.

Amy Ingle (04:09)
Mm-hmm. ⁓

Yeah, yeah. And you know, with filler, we always use lidocaine. I don't know if all spas do that, but we do numb topically or sometimes by injection. That helps.

Victoria (04:25)
Right? Yeah. No,

I really too many pains and sores, even when you guys, you when it's numb, I don't feel, I don't feel anything.

Amy Ingle (04:34)
Yeah. Good. Let's talk about your resistance to Botox and your issues with filler in the past. So when you came to me, what, two, three years ago, maybe longer, I don't know, it's been a while.

Victoria (04:48)
I

think it's like going on four or five. Yeah.

Amy Ingle (04:51)
Four five, wow,

time really flies. So when you came to me, you were having some issues with Botox not lasting as long, and then the filler was not staying. Like you would get your cheeks filled at another spa and it would just be gone in like a month, two months.

Victoria (05:02)
Yeah.

Right.

getting my

toxin and that lasted, gosh I can't even remember when I started getting it. I know I was, it was before I got pregnant with the twins. So I want to say it was like two or three years prior to me having the twins, which was going back, so now 10 to 11 years. And then I had the twins, then I had Hunter. So this is fast forward eight years. And the last, I want to say three years, maybe four. I have not had any

type of.

feeling like you know when you get that tightening feeling or anything like that. haven't gotten any of that. Remember we put me on zinc. I was on zinc for a year and right after a year that didn't work. Then we tried all the toxins that were under the toxin label.

Amy Ingle (05:41)
Mm-hmm.

Yes.

Victoria (05:52)
so, and I haven't had any type of result from that since then. So then I went on zinc, we took a break, COVID passed by, and then we started up again on using those same ones that I was using again, but still having no results whatsoever. ⁓ And I still haven't.

Amy Ingle (06:10)
huh.

Victoria (06:12)
I still have until this day, unfortunately. And then even with filler. So I was going to a different MediSpa before meeting you guys and trying all these different fillers. And I was spending so much money because I just wanted one simple look, but it costs so much money that I was like, am I getting this done for? If it's literally lasting, I think the smallest amount was two weeks and then it was a month. And then I don't.

Amy Ingle (06:27)
Mm-hmm.

wow.

Victoria (06:35)
It wasn't much longer than that, maybe two months. And then I think it was when I came to you guys and I was like, it's not working. So then you said, ⁓ I have this one filler. And that was the only one that's really stuck for me.

Amy Ingle (06:46)
Okay, so you have tried five different toxins. They don't work. They don't work at all. Like, you don't get a week. You don't get two days.

Victoria (06:49)
Yes.

I don't even.

I don't get the feeling

I used to get at all. Even the one that you and I tried together. Remember the one that you and I tried together 20 minutes apart and you were like by day, remember day four or five, you're like, I'm starting to feel it. I'm like, I am not feeling anything and I so badly wanted to feel it. And I was like, it's it's not working.

Amy Ingle (06:57)
You get nothing.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah, I...

wait, you did try Letty Bo, because I did grab that for you. That's right. Yeah, so you've tried everyone on the market. Wow. That's right. Okay, so our next game plan this Thursday is to try Myoblock. Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's going to work for you, because it's Botulinum toxin B. It's completely different.

Victoria (07:15)
⁓ yes, that's the one. That is the one we tried together. Yes. Yeah.

Yes.

I'm so excited. Fingers crossed, paws crossed, paws crossed. I hope so. Great.

Amy Ingle (07:41)
It's

not like all the other botulisms. So yeah, I think it'll be fine. I think it'll work. We'll just, you know, do some before and afters. We'll post them so the viewers can kind of look into that and see how it goes. ⁓ It is suppose to work pretty fast, like within three days and lasts about 10 weeks. Yeah. So we'll see. It's very expensive though.

Victoria (07:49)
Okay.

Yeah, it's gonna be a first. did. ⁓

Okay. So we're gonna

have to take pictures like every Thursday for 10 weeks straight just to see because you you know how mine works.

Amy Ingle (08:09)
Yeah.

Movement yeah, do do movement pictures

so we can see how the muscles are working Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited but going back to Filler so you didn't have good results with filler I mean you you got them you got the result immediately, but then it just didn't stay So what product was that that you were using?

Victoria (08:17)
Great. Yeah. Me too.

Hmm

No.

Yeah.

Oh my goodness, I cannot even remember. Maybe it was Juvederm. Is there another one like a Blit? No, it wasn't a Blit. Right? It was I tried that one. I tried Juvederm. And I think the only one other one was the FHAS, whatever that one is that you use. And that's the only one that works. Yes. All right. Only one that works. Yeah.

Amy Ingle (08:36)
So Juvederm?

Restylane.

RHA, the revamped RHA. And that works for you.

And how many months do you get out of that?

Victoria (09:00)
didn't

want to keep going to the same medispa and it not working. Then I felt like an idiot trying to tell them like, hey, this isn't working. And they're like, well, if there's nothing else we can do. And I'm thinking, well, that was a lot of money for nothing. It was concerning because then I was like, is there something wrong with my body? But then I just, I think it's just because my metabolism at the time, I think it's slowed down a little bit with 10 years of trying to do this and getting older. I think my metabolism still is just so

Amy Ingle (09:13)
Right.

Mm-hmm.

Victoria (09:28)
on the go or my body just is so resistant to certain things that don't belong in my body. You know, with my surgeries that I've had, it's always that one percent chance of and I'm always that one percent chance of kind of person. So lucky for me.

Amy Ingle (09:35)
Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Did you see a correlation between the products? Now know RHA is different, the filler, because you were using RHA before COVID. ⁓ But was the Botox just completely not working at all after COVID? what, it was after COVID? Yeah, there's a lot of talk about that the COVID virus caused some issues with ⁓

Victoria (09:50)
Mm-hmm.

Yes.

It was after.

It was definitely.

Right? And I can't,

I technically had it. Like I remember going in to you and it was working and then COVID kind of happened. Everybody fizzled out and nobody was around. We couldn't go into the clinic anymore. And then I came back and I don't, I hadn't in my mind or in my wellness knew that I had COVID because I was never sick with it. Like I never had the symptoms. I never was sick with it.

prior to coming to you to visit for injections and you were like, well, did you have COVID? And I was like, no, like I didn't have symptoms of it. ⁓ But maybe I did and I just maybe my symptoms were not anything other than like a sniffly nose or maybe I thought it was allergies or something like that, totally could have been COVID.

Amy Ingle (10:40)
Mm-hmm.

Yeah, I think a lot of people were exposed that didn't know it. I know my mom swore she never got it and we tested her and she had the antibodies.

Victoria (10:54)
Yeah, for sure.

⁓ But I mean,

like later on after the fact, but prior to but you never know. But then think I was on like, OK, that should help because I even read on that. It should help. And I know I took it for a whole year. We're like, we're right. Because I felt like I had so much toxin being put into my body and nothing was happening. And I'm like, where is it all go? Like my body and I started to mess with my mind a little. And then I remember a whole year off.

Amy Ingle (11:11)
The zinc.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Victoria (11:27)
and we, I took zinc and then I think we took a whole nother year and we're just like, let's take a break. I wasn't taking zinc and it still wasn't working. And then now we're again two years later and it's still, we're still in the same boat. Yeah.

Amy Ingle (11:35)
Great.

Right. We even

doubled up on Juveau. I did double dosing on you and that did not work. So we tried it all I think. Tried it all. So yeah. What advice would you give to someone considering fillers for the first time?

Victoria (11:44)
Mm-hmm.

Listen, if you're looking to do something that you're wanting your body to look like, no matter what, you know, other people might think like, oh, you don't need that. Oh, you look fine. If it's in your head that you would feel fine or feel more confident within your body, do it. Why not? And if you don't like it after it's done, fillers can be taken away just as easily as it was put in. But you might like it. You know what I mean? I mean, the worst that can happen is you say, don't do it again. I love it.

Amy Ingle (12:13)
Thank you.

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Victoria (12:24)
I'm feeling confident in my own skin and there's nothing wrong with changing your body. It's just like working out. I mean if you want your body to look better, what are you gonna do? You're gonna go work out. It's not like you're putting something that doesn't belong there there. You're just figuring out a different solution to make your body feel confident.

Amy Ingle (12:41)
Right.

Yeah, I like that analogy. Yeah, and they think, it's a toxin. Ooh, it's a toxin.

Victoria (12:47)
So is the food you eat and the drink you drink. So is everything else that we put in our body in this world.

Amy Ingle (12:51)
Right?

Botulism's in honey. I mean, it is and we eat honey, right? Yep. And then HA fillers, that's hyaluronic acid. That's already in our body. They just take a culture of it and they create it. So, yep. I mean, you can look at it in all kinds of different ways, but I look at it like, you know, I'm getting older, but I don't want to look older. And there's ways that you can look natural and not overdone and look younger.

Victoria (12:53)
Exactly. Eat more height. Yeah, exactly.

Yes.

anything.

Yep,

that's absolutely my goal. It's not necessarily for somebody to walk by me and be like, oh my gosh, look at all the work she's had done on her face. It's more like, oh, I can't believe she's 40. She doesn't look 40. You know what I mean? Without somebody saying, oh my gosh, all this work done on her face. No, I'm just filling in some of those little spots that just need that extra little love. Yep.

Amy Ingle (13:37)
Right. Yeah, I like it. So what are any facial treatments you now consider can't live without and why? All of them, right?

Victoria (13:44)
⁓ my gosh, all of them. I

have the one coming up tomorrow with Amber, which is the IPL. And then I love doing my hydrofacials with Haley or Grace. So I love the hydro. And then I think the other one is the hydrofacial, the one that does all the radioactive, like the radio wave things. And it gets the hot.

Amy Ingle (13:53)
Okay.

Victoria (14:07)
Old one. love that one too. Whichever that is, Yes. Those are my favorites. Those are my, I'm getting them all the time. Yeah. You know what? I have not. Wait, that's when, that's when the little hairs come off, right? And that one, I think I've done that one once. ⁓ And I was a little scared.

Amy Ingle (14:09)
Yeah, yeah, she has all different tools to use.

Yeah.

Have you ever got a derma plane?

Mm-hmm.

Yeah, so it's

a little like a scalpel and they just kind of exfoliate the skin and as they exfoliate the skin it takes off the fluff. So then when you put your makeup on it's so smooth and...

Victoria (14:35)
Great.

It is super

smooth, but when I first had it done I was like, my gosh, she's gonna shave my face and my hair's gonna come back super thick, but it is not, it is not. Yeah, but it, mean, yes, your face looks great and it looks nice and clean and fresh and you wouldn't think it would and you don't think you have that much hair on your face, but ⁓ we do. So, yep, we are.

Amy Ingle (14:47)
No, that's a wive tale. That's not true.

Yeah, we're hairy.

So, how have regular facials changed your skin or your self-care routine?

Victoria (15:07)
Well, I'm very more into, I'm so into, I would say caring for my skin now in general. I wear hats all the time. I have sunscreen on all the time. And growing up, I did not do any of that. It was baby oil, no hats, how long can I lay out the sun? You know, we didn't grow up with knowing all of these things that we know now, taking care of our skin. And I'm a really fair-ish, freckly skinned person who has to watch, you know,

Amy Ingle (15:14)
Yeah.

Victoria (15:33)
with their skin, but every time I've had a treatment done, it just looked more clear, less wrinkles, less spotty's everywhere. And I think since then, I like the way it looks now than I did with all those tan marks and all those spots that actually make it look, make you look older when you don't really need to look older because you can have the treatments done to take those spots away. So yes, it has helped tremendously with all of my skincare everywhere on my body.

Amy Ingle (15:47)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Victoria (15:59)
you know, just being mindful of it.

Amy Ingle (16:00)
Yeah.

Right. And you work out a lot. You're in great shape. You're always active. You know, you are always doing something with the kids and going to the gym. And so what prompted you to try body sculpting and what were your goals? Since you have an amazing body, why did you want to do body sculpting?

Victoria (16:04)
Listen.

Mm-hmm. ⁓

⁓ why?

Because, still

listen, even though people work out and even though, listen, I have a lot of work to do on my body still. So you could still feel it. It goes back to the confidence part. Even though your body may look amazing to somebody else, it's really how the person inside feels. So for me, yes, you might think my body looks great. For my own brain, going back to my childhood and having a career of being a gymnast, I didn't have all these loose pieces of skin

I didn't have all these wrinkly parts of my body or something that wouldn't tone. When I was that age, everything toned, everything was tight. You grow older, it's not like that anymore. Yes, I might have the muscle tone, know, and people might say, this looks great, but I had three kids. You can see that in my stomach. Yes, I still have abs, but my skin had three kids. You can see it. So yes, of course I wanted to do something more to feel more confident in my body. So that's why.

Amy Ingle (17:14)
Mm-hmm.

Well, not only three kids, you had twins. That's like a double whammy. Yeah, lots of skin there that stretched, those twins.

Victoria (17:17)
Yes, and I can count.

Yes, thankfully

I have stretch marks which you know so grateful for that but you still have those little pieces of your body that say hey I had a baby which is beautiful I love it I love having that but it still sits in that confidence part of your body and you're like okay I have my body now because I am a mother yes that's the part of my motherhood journey but still in the back of people's heads they're still trying to figure out how I can be more confident

It's just a natural human thought process that people have.

Amy Ingle (17:53)
Yeah, I agree. Well, looking back, what treatment had the biggest impact on your confidence of daily life?

Victoria (17:59)
I would say my fillers. would say because my, and not necessarily in my lips, but I think my cheeks really did it for me because if you can remember when I first started, my cheeks were so sunken in that it took so many vials of fillers to even bring them up to somewhat looking normal. You know what I mean? But with all the treatments that I've had, meaning like my facials and the IPL and all of those,

your filler.

Mm-hmm.

Victoria (18:26)
that helped rebuild the collagen, think that has also played a role in not having to get as much filler or just maintaining it and not having to worry what does it look like without it. Because when I look at pictures then and now I'm like, oh my lordy, I need to put on some weight. But it wasn't even just that, was just my cheeks were so sunken in, but I really think it was just my filler. And now it's gonna be these wrinkles that won't go away.

Amy Ingle (18:35)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Work on those, we're working on those. So what myths or misconceptions would you like to clear up about medical spa treatments?

Victoria (18:54)
Yes. Yes.

I would say a lot of people think that having work done on your face is making you look fake or they're only cute because they have filler done or they're only beautiful because they have Botox done or you know their body really doesn't look like that because they just did a machine workout like what we did with mine. And I don't think that that matters.

I think what matters is at least these people who are doing these things have self-awareness and are self-caring for themselves, I should say. ⁓ And just not doing anything to feel confident. feel like regardless of how you get to your confidence level, should not be judged by other people because everybody has a different way of feeling good inside their body.

Amy Ingle (19:32)
Mm-hmm.

Yeah, that's good to hear from clients. That's good. Because I know there's a lot of clients that come in and they say, my husband doesn't know I'm here. Or it happens a lot. Or my boyfriend told me I don't need it.

Victoria (19:47)
Yeah.

You know what I did

Yeah in the beginning I did that a couple times and I don't I think it was more of like what are people gonna think about me? Which is what we're talking about. What are people gonna think about me when they say? ⁓ why do your lips look different? And I think my first responses were I don't know. I'm not sure why right and Like my gosh, that looks so great. why does your skin look so good or why does

Why don't you have any spots now? And why do your cheeks look so good? I'm like, well, because I get all these things done. And they're like, maybe I should try it. And I'm like, see? So in the beginning, yeah, I was really skeptical of what people were going to judge me for or what they were going to say about me. But now that I do it and I feel good, I'm like, what did it matter? What did it matter? Why do I even care? At what point do people start caring about how people are feeling confident in their own skin?

Amy Ingle (20:23)
Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Right. Exactly.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. What advice would you give to someone who's curious about, about starting their own Med Spa journey?

Victoria (20:50)
Oh gosh, I would just start basic like I did. Or maybe just go in and consult with you, right? And have a conversation with you. You're really good at that. And explaining to people what their journey is gonna look like. Even now, when I reach out to you guys, I'm like, okay, is this normal? Is this okay? I would just have them start small. Even if they want to just do filler, that's when you have to use a whole vial. That stuff is stored away just like.

Amy Ingle (21:12)
Mm-hmm.

Victoria (21:16)
when people go and have their eggs taken out and sperm taken out. It's like they're for, so even if, you know, just do little bits at a time, let it settle for a week or two. And then if you want more and it's not what your desired look is like, then you go back in and you get more. regardless of the fact, you can start small with even, you know, a toxin or a filler and then just always come back in and visit you because it's always pleasant there anyway.

Amy Ingle (21:39)
Right. My last question, which I ask all my guests, what is your sweetest tip of the day?

Victoria (21:44)
⁓ sweetest tip? Like, what's sweet mean?

Amy Ingle (21:47)
like your sweetest beauty tip, like your most favorite or something you want to share with, you know, the listeners or.

Victoria (21:50)
yes.

My tip

would be that vitamin E goes a long way for the skin. I think that a lot of my healing processes with you guys, whether it was toxin or filler or a facial or an IPL, is vitamin E was like the thing. I thought it would clog my pores, but I think it has helped the healing process of everything I've been through. Everything.

Amy Ingle (22:01)
Okay.

Okay, and tell me how you apply it or do you take it orally?

Victoria (22:21)
I just

get the dropper and I take my shower, wash my face, do all that stuff in the morning. I put it on before my makeup. I go do my dogs, do the cats, do all the things around the house. And my makeup is the last thing I do just before walking out the door so that that vitamin ⁓ E can soak in. But I literally just drop it in my hand and I put it on my face down to my neck, sometimes on my chest, and then the same thing at night.

Amy Ingle (22:39)
Mm-hmm.

Victoria (22:49)
I get my face washed off, get everything washed off, put my vitamin E on and it would be... I love it. I love it.

Amy Ingle (22:53)
Okay, all right. Did you

know that we sell vitamin C E? Okay, is that what you're talking about or is this something different?

Victoria (22:57)
I do and I haven't. Yes, I have now added

a little extra squirts of vitamin E.

Amy Ingle (23:06)
gotcha. Okay. Okay.

Victoria (23:07)
I feel like it moisturizes my skin. My skin's weird. So sometimes it's really dry, but sometimes it's too oily. But I feel like adding those couple extra drops of the vitamin E, don't know, somehow just kind of like neutralizes my skin. So yeah.

Amy Ingle (23:22)
Okay, all right, good to know. Good to know.

Yeah, it's also an antioxidant.
