Thank you, Lord, sanctuary this morning. Thank you, Lord, for the purpose of praying today. I thank you, Lord, for faith that you've given us in our heart. Thank you, Lord, for the promises of your word that teaches us. And if we have faith as a greater must receive, we have power over great obstacles that is in our way. I pray, Lord, as these things were mentioned today, Lord, in this house, that you would reach down and meet every need. Lord, I know that you're able. I know that you can heal those who need the touch of their body and strength. I thank you, Lord.
unknownI praise you, Lord, for your healing power. Thank you, Lord, for your saving power, God, today.

All right, grab the soldiers. Amen. Sometimes we say for the glory of God.
SPEAKER_01Praise God. Oh, I heard all the stories. How the Savior came on.
unknownHow we came to eyes all our reasons.
SPEAKER_07Oh we gave the opposite of the world. We are the sea.
unknownI'm sick of the day. Well I it's time. Oh travel and star. Well I have this. I got Jesus.
SPEAKER_05Hey man, crazy out though.
SPEAKER_03You understand the way that this question is why we can die. Why can we die in the presence of Joseph? Why would Joseph in the center destroyed while we know that Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers? He wrote the power in Egypt through the providence of God. He had interpreted everyone's dreams. Seven years of abundance, followed by seven years of famine. The life of Joseph is a wonderful testament to God's sovereignty and God's providence. God seems to just have a way of planning solutions in place before that we ever even had a problem. Joseph played a major role in the development of humankind, but this famine would have took the inhabitants of Earth by surprise if it wasn't for somebody that was in tune with God enough to realize that something would have to be done in order to prepare for this famine that is coming to our land. During this famine, Joseph becomes a lifeline for many people, including his own family. The beginning of our reading describes the consequences of this situation. There was no bread in all the land. This wasn't a small issue, it was an issue that was affecting this entire region. And it shows us the extent of human suffering and desperation. What Pharaoh had seen in a dream is now the reality of where his kingdom is living. This famine was bringing people to their knees, exposing their vulnerability and their need for sustenance. The Bible says when the money failed, they started to seek for sustenance. I've been reading about this, and a lot of these Egyptians, in order to prepare for this famine, they would consume and save up as much money as they could. A lot of it was in the form of currency, a lot of it was in the form of material goods. But the worse this famine gets, and the worse that it goes on, the longer that it goes on, the less value that their money and their material really holds. And you know it's heartbreaking to see souls in our day reaching and grabbing for things that they feel like will satisfy the hunger of their souls. There are so many people that live bound to stress and anxiety, and their only hope is if I could just get out of town for a little while, if I could just get out of this hole I'm in, if I could make a little bit more money, or if I could do a little better in this area, or do a little better in that area. But when you rake in all that you possibly can, there's still going to be nothing that is worthy to satisfy the hunger of your soul. We might enjoy the short season of gathering and chasing and going and doing, but at the end of the day, there's nothing to the pleasures of this world. They only last for a season. There's no sustenance, there's no satisfaction, there's no life. Self-reliance and self-sufficiency is empty and void and meaningless. How many tonight will open a bottle of alcohol or hit a line of drugs and then step back and realize that that didn't even satisfy what they were really in need of? Don't wake up tomorrow and realize that really didn't do what I thought that it was going to do. There's no satisfaction, there's no peace, there's no joy, there's no hope. Amen. There's no life, there's no fulfillment. All those things failed to really offer me a solution to the problem of the famine in my soul. It's easy in the church to look at those outside of the church and talk about them not finding any peace. But I believe you'll have to agree with me. There's been those that have sat on our church pews that were just as bound to work and to personal gain as the drug addict is to drugs or as the alcoholic is to alcohol. Their faith was in their career, their faith was in their ability to get something that would sustain them. If you would have drove through Egypt during this time, you would have seen gold, you would have seen silver, you would have seen houses and barns. These people had saved, they had prospered, they had done so well for themselves, but gold doesn't do any good when the grocery store runs out of food to buy, and silver doesn't do any good when the river dries up. Amen. And right here in America, I believe that we are going through a spiritual famine. We can gather all we can, we can hoard up all we can, we can buy all the houses and vehicles that we can get our hands on. We can try to do our best to deal with the emptiness of our lives, but there's coming a day that the famine is going to push us to the place where we'll have to stay with these Egyptians. There's nothing of value to everything I've worked so hard to achieve. There's nothing of value to everything I've worked so hard to accomplish. Solomon is noted in the Bible, but also in history as being one of the wealthiest men to ever live. His kingdom was like no other kingdom. But in Ecclesiastes 2, he wrote to us: I made me great works, I built me houses, I planted me vineyards, I made me gardens and orchards, I made me pools of water, I got me servants and maidens, I gathered me also silver and gold and the peculiar treasures of the kings and of the prophets, and I was great and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me, and whatsoever my eyes desired, I kept not from them. I would not help my heart from any joy, for my heart rejoiced in all my labor, and this was the portion of all my labor. But then I looked on all the works that my hands had brought, and on the labor that I had labored to do, and behold, all was vanity and vexation of the spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. Solomon is telling us here the money failed, the wealth fell, the houses pay off, the silver fell, the gold failed, the fulfillment of desire failed. Anything my eyes wanted, I gave it to them. Anything my heart longed for, I had it. But there was no profit under the sun. In all the world there was no profit. In all the world there was no joy. In all the world there was no happiness. Oh, there is no satisfaction in this world. There is no long-lasting contentment in this world. We feel as if our heart can be satisfied by making a little more money, or by taking another trip, or by or by buying another vehicle, but there is a feminine that is running away at the essence of our empty lives. Everything we work for fellows to satisfy. Everything we work for fellows to give us contentment. And without God, there are people asking the question this morning. It's life even worth living. Them life more abundantly highly. Joseph's position in light of this famine is very crucial, for he is not now just a ruler, but now he has become a provider. The Egyptians and the others had to come to him and recognize his authority and the wisdom God gave him to manage this crisis. His management of resources shows us not only of earthly wisdom, but it shows us that Joseph was relying upon divine guidance. Famines destroy earthly wisdom. Famine suck the life out of earthly preparation. But Joseph was prepared for whatever the famine was going to bring. And these Egyptians finally realized there's only one way we're going to live. There's only one way we're going to get out of this mess that we're in. There's only one way we're going to be fed. And they turned to Joseph in their desperate cry. And they said, Why should we die in thy presence? Hallelujah. This question echoes their desperation. And it reveals some truths about our human nature and our relationship with God. The Egyptians understood that their survival would be dependent on Joseph's kindness towards them. They recognized that without intervention, they were going to perish. And I want to tell you, we've got to realize if God doesn't intervene in our services, if God doesn't intervene in our families, if God doesn't intervene in the lives of our children, this famine could be the end of what we are going through. This famine could be the end of our life. Amen. This famine could suck the life out of us. Things get serious when you realize there's only one way out. There's only one way to be prevented. There's only one way to get through this. These Egyptians were spent. They had gone through all their money just trying to survive. And now they realize they don't have anything to bargain with. They don't have anything to trade. They don't have anything to make some kind of deal. But they just said, why should we die in thy presence? Hallelujah. All these people had was their cattle and their land. But the problem with this is, is even though they had cattle, the cattle were worthless because without grain, they don't have any way to keep their cattle alive. And their land is worthless because without any seed, they don't have any way to plant fruit on their land. They don't have any way to sustain and bring fruit out of their property. Amen. And you don't think that there's anybody that can take what you have and make something out of it. It's worthless in your opinion. It's worthless in your hand. But I come to tell you there's somebody that can take it, and they've got the resources to make something out of it.
unknownHallelujah. These Egyptians couldn't do nothing with their cattle.
SPEAKER_03They couldn't do nothing with their land. But they got it in the hands of Joseph, and Joseph did something with it. Joseph made something out of it. Joseph sustained them for another several years because what they put in the hand of Joseph, Joseph was able to do something with it. Hallelujah. Their land was worthless. Their cattle was worthless. There is truly no chance of survival for these people without the kindness of Joseph. And this reliance that these people had upon Joseph is exactly like your dependence on Jesus Christ here this morning. When you feel like you've been distanced from God or overwhelmed by the challenges of life, there's only one person who can turn it around. There's only one person who can give you provisions for what you need. And you don't have anything to offer. You don't have anything to prove to God you feel like, but just come to him anyways. Because why should we die when we're right here in his presence? Why should we die when God has been moving around this place, touching minds and moving in people's circumstances? Why would you die in his presence? Hallelujah. This phrase in thy presence signifies the authority and the power that Joseph held within this situation. Being in the presence of God should evoke a sense of trust within all of us here this morning. God's got it under control, hallelujah. God holds the key to your spiritual sustenance. In Genesis 41, the Bible says that Joseph had storehouses of provision for everything that people needed. Just as the Egyptians acknowledged their need for bread, we must recognize our own spiritual hunger. And there's only one that holds the key to the storehouse this morning. I know that we come into church sometimes and we feel dry in our soul and we feel empty in our spirit. But I come to tell you, God's still got storehouses. This acknowledgement that the Egyptians made is the first step towards healing and restoration. We should not be ashamed to come before God and many that were struggling and asking God to move in our lives and that in our daily lives we should actively be pursuing and seeking after God's presence. Just as Joseph provided for the Egyptians, there's somebody that has provided for you this morning. Joseph walked through a multitude of problems just for God to save these people from this famine. But there was a bigger reason than just saving the lives of this ancient world. God made a promise to all of humanity. As soon as we sin, as soon as we fail, there's going to be a seed from the woman that would bruise the head of the serpent. So the sufferings of Joseph and all that he had to go through was for a greater purpose. And I want to borrow a narrative that Dr. Maurice Watson pointed out to show you why this old story about these Egyptians and Joseph should mean something to you. If Joseph would have not been hated by his brothers, he would have never been thrown into the pit. Had he not been thrown into the pit, he would have never been sold to the Ishmaelite slave traders. Had he not been sold to the Ishmaelite slave traders, he would have never been bought by Potiphar. Had he not been bought by Potiphar, Mrs. Potiphar couldn't have lied on him. Had Mrs. Potiphar not lied on him, he would have never been thrown into prison. Had he not been thrown into prison, he would have never met the butler and the baker. Had he not met the butler and the baker, Pharaoh wouldn't have known that Joseph could interpret dreams. Had Pharaoh not known that Joseph could interpret dreams, he would have never put Joseph in charge of the nation of Egypt. Had Joseph not been in charge of the nation of Egypt, he would not have predicted the seven years of famine. Had he not predicted the seven years of famine, the nation of Israel would have died because of the famine. Had the nation of Israel died because of the famine, there would have been no baby born in that Bethlehem's table. Had there been no baby born in Bethlehem, he would have never went to the cross. And if he never went to the cross, he would have never cried out, It is finished. And if he never cried, it is finished. The veil in the temple would have never been written in twain from the top to the bottom. Had the veil in the temple not been written in twain from the top to the bottom, you and me would have no way to have access into the presence of God. Hallelujah. God put Joseph in Egypt to put Jesus on the cross. And it was also he could put you in his presence.
unknownHallelujah. You stood in the presence of God this morning.
SPEAKER_03And it was all because of what Jesus did for us. It was all because of the blood that Jesus shed. Hallelujah. The gospel said that Jesus was hanging on that Roman cross. And he cried with a loud voice. And he gave up the ghost and the rocks rent. The earthquake and that veil of flesh. Eleven layers of goat hair that some commentators say two denied dosers couldn't have pulled that layer apart. But just one drop of Jesus' blood. And the veil was torn into. And now you have boldness. That is to say, his flesh. Hallelujah. The prophet said a virgin shall be with child. She shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Jesus. They shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted as God with us. Hallelujah. God, right here in our presence. That holiest of holies, it used to be a place that the priest would have to walk into with fear and trembling. He had to have blood on his right toe and a bill and a pomegranate all the way around. And if something was wrong in his life, they'd have to reach a stick in there or something and pull him out. It was a scary thing to access the holy presence of God. But now, because of the blood of Jesus, every one of us sitting in this room keeping some true God this morning.
unknownEvery meeting me.
SPEAKER_03Why don't you come to Jesus this morning? Why would you die this post to annock? Why would you open these doors and give up alive? Will you this close to somebody that can keep you alive and make something out of it this morning? Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me have everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat man in the wilderness and are dead, but this is the bread which came down from heaven that a man may eat thereof and not die. I am the living bread, hallelujah, which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever. For the bread that I give is my flesh, which I will give thee for the life of the world. Nobody but Jesus can give you life here this morning. Nobody but Jesus can supply your every need. Nobody but Jesus can bring things that were dead back to life. Hallelujah. Nobody but Jesus can breathe the breath of life upon a lost and dying soul this morning. Why don't you give it to Jesus? Paul said on that, in Acts standing on Mars Hill, in him we live and move and have our being. And then in Philippians he said, My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus. Hallelujah. So in conclusion this morning, as they come and get ready to sing and you get ready to come to this altar, I just want to leave you with the question, why would you walk out of these doors and die lost in this world when you can access the holy presence of God? Why should we die right here in his presence? Just as these Egyptians turn to Joseph, you can return to God this morning and realize I can't live in another day without you.
unknownI can't walk another minute without you. I can't walk another shot without ship. I can't live another day. I can't miss another meal.
SPEAKER_03And you're just walking through a dark time. There's no reason that you should walk out and be discouraged. There's no reason that you should walk out without getting in touch with Jesus.
unknownI'm about to feel in the Pentecostal church. I believe Jesus may give somebody a baby this morning.
SPEAKER_03Why would you die this close to the altar? Why would you die this close to the presence of God? Amen. I don't know what kept these Egyptians from coming to Joseph. I don't know why they waited until they were so desperate. And I don't know why I've waited sometimes until I was at the end of my road. But it doesn't change the fact. And when they finally made up their mind, they were gonna ditch their pride, they were gonna ditch whatever reason they had made up in their mind, and they were gonna go to Joseph, and it was gonna ask him if they can live, it was gonna ask him if they can be fed. And I don't know why it takes up so long sometime, but God stands ready. Even if you should have moved a long time ago, he's still gonna reach you right now.
SPEAKER_07If you just make up your mind, I gotta get to Jesus, I've got to get to the altar, I've got to get to the presence of God.
unknownHallelujah.
SPEAKER_03So often we treat these times. I'm as guilty as anybody. Preachers boy, I've grown up in church my whole life. We feel the presence of God move into a surface like this. It's normal for us, it seems. So common. So ordinary. That's the way we can feel about it if we're not careful. Do you know that's profaning God when you treat his presence as just normal? Just ordinary? This isn't normal. God had to die in order for this to happen this morning. God had to die in order for you to feel what you're feeling this morning. Oh, don't profane the Lord by acting like this is just normal. This is just ordinary. This happens every Sunday. No, I hope and pray that the Lord would convict our hearts to realize this is anything but normal. This is anything but ordinary. God, we love you. We thank you. We praise you for allowing your presence to settle in amongst the people that really don't deserve it, Lord. We thank you so much, Jesus. Hallelujah. Stand all over the house if you would. Oh God, help us to make this altar here this morning. Jesus, we need your touch. We need your guidance. Lord, help somebody to make a move in your direction this morning.
SPEAKER_05Praise God, we're not going to get a hurry out here. We're not going to get the hurry out here. Somebody should be so good. It's not this piece of goodness for science. It's the presence of God. Amen. Hallelujah for a reason. There's a reason. I would like to face you. Amen. You need God to help you today. Hallelujah. God's presence. Amen has fullness. I know it says fullness of joy, and we can all have joy, but in his presence is fullness. Amen. In his presence, he can do it all today. Hallelujah. Come before the Lord. Come in to his presence. Hallelujah, God.
unknownHallelujah. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, God, give you a victory like ever before. Just kill it from your heart, Lord. I helped it for you. Hallelujah. I'll become before you, Lord. None of us is worthy. None of us is worthy. But oh God, in your presence, you'll do more for us. Than anybody else. You'll help us more than anybody else. Oh, did you take Jesus this morning? Did you take Jesus into your heart?
unknownOh, come on, church, let's go. Let me grab someone with the hand. Hallelujah, green gathered. I'll sit up to a view of green, stuffing. It shall be done. Cold church loves a green feel. Hallelujah for God in his presence. God in his presence. God in your presence you'll have to get off God. God in your presence of life. Every force of darkness. Every beautiful power.
SPEAKER_05Praise the Lord, praise God, praise the Lord, praise God, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Lord, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, while I was praying, somebody touched me, while I was praying, somebody touched me, while I was praying, somebody touched me, was somebody touched me touching out the world, praise the word.
