The new season of the hit reality dating tv show Love Island has just aired, marking the beginning of Summer. Not one, but four cast members are already being canceled for the STUPIDEST. THINGS. EVER. Love Island has brought back the woke wave.
Thanks for tuning in to Propaganda with Mick and Jacob. Happy Wednesday. I hope your week is going well.
SPEAKER_01My week is off to a great start because we just watched the first episode of Love Island.
SPEAKER_00Raise your hand if you're a Love Island fan.
SPEAKER_01Or we watched most of it. It's way too long. So we we couldn't make it through the entire thing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's so good. Season eight just aired last night. By the time you're watching this, we're filming this right after we watched it.
SPEAKER_01It's like peak, just peak goislop, honestly. It's not it is entertaining, but it's not like.
SPEAKER_00The reason that I want to talk about it is because they had just announced the cast. I mean, gosh, like a few days ago, a few days before it aired. Yeah. Right? Okay. And that's something they do to get everyone hyped for the show. Here's our cast. Here's our uh here's our roster for Love Island. Here are all the hotties for this season for the summer. And they already have insane controversy before the show has even aired or started. We're on the first episode, and this controversy started before the first episode had even aired. This was like the day they announced the cast members, everyone had a problem. And you know why they had a problem? Honestly, I was surprised people had a problem because I thought we were kind of past this, but I guess not. Like I don't know.
SPEAKER_01It always surprises me how like that watch Love Island.
SPEAKER_00I think so. I think that's what it is. Like you're so involved. It's literally us. You're so involved and and bored that you're that involved to watch a show twice a week for an hour and a half, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That I guess you guess, I guess you have the time and you you want to be invested into these cast members and find out who they are.
SPEAKER_01Right, but they release these people and then the internet does like a deep dive on all of them.
SPEAKER_00Which I don't understand how people have this time and like resources.
SPEAKER_01I could no one has jobs. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I guess not. Holy moly. But um, yeah, the internet, everyone uh they've dug up these people's past and they've gone back. I mean, you know how it is. You can't you can't blink wrong if you're gonna be on reality TV because the internet will find it and they'll have an issue with it. So not one, but four people out of the original 12 cast members have received insane backlash for this season before it has even aired on Peacock, okay? And if you remember last season, they had issues as well. They had two people. Yeah, two people kicked off the show for saying erasist racist slurs.
SPEAKER_01Two. Two. Oh yeah, they're both girls. They're both girls.
SPEAKER_00One was the N-word, and then one was a like an Asian slur. But this season has already outperformed the last season and how many people we can cancel and kick off the show before it even starts. Holy crap. So the first one is her, I don't know how to say her name, Vasana. Yeah, Vasana. She was dismissed from production after allegedly one of her friends released a private video of her. No, two videos. Her friend released two videos of her saying the forbidden word that you can never say. The N-word.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01Now she can't be on TV.
SPEAKER_00Nope. And one was it was she was rapping it in a song, which I don't know. Some people are okay with like I don't know how to feel about that. It's like you're rapping the song, you know, whatever. And the other one is her saying she goes knock knock um N-word to her friend playing an arcade game. And honestly, in my opinion, these videos looked older, they didn't look recent. So yeah, they're definitely in her past.
SPEAKER_01Doesn't matter, you said it once you're doing it. Right, right.
SPEAKER_00You're forever canceled. And I yeah, we I mean we can argue all day long whether or not saying the N-word is like morally evil or wrong, or you should get this kind of backlash from it. We can argue all day long, whatever. But what is wrong is holding to people to their past and never, and I mean never letting them live it down or move past it. And I think that's what I was so I was just so surprised with it because I I feel like we've been so sick of cancel culture, but then here we are doing it again, and it's just exhausting. It's okay, so what? She said the N-word.
SPEAKER_01Guys, she asks for forgiveness, so why can't we just move on from it? You know?
SPEAKER_00And I feel like most of you would agree with that. That it's just it's dumb to dig up a person's past and then be like, oh CC, she made a mistake. Let's like make sure she's not on reality TV show or reality TV ever.
SPEAKER_01She said a word, and people get mad about that word. So therefore she said it whatever, how many years ago? Now we're gonna say she can't be on the show.
SPEAKER_00It's a little odd. I never I never understood it.
SPEAKER_01It's interesting.
SPEAKER_00And she's not saying I I just don't get the N-word in general because she didn't say it towards a black person in anger, or she didn't call a black person that word. You know what I mean? Like I think I thought that was the racist part when you refer to it when you're talking about black people or two black people.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's how it started, is what they say, but now they say it's just it's just whatever the word itself is automatically racist for any any means whatsoever.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, that's not even that's not even the bad one. This it gets worse. But we've got three others to talk about. So um, this girl has stayed on. Her name is Kenzie, um, and she was in a video, the only white girl on the set.
SPEAKER_01The only white girl on the set representing the U.S. proudly.
SPEAKER_00The majority of the US.
SPEAKER_01Love Island US, and then there's two white people out of there's ten on there, right? Mm-hmm. So there's ten. There's two white people out of all ten, and then there's one guy who's like this British dude, which like that's fine. He's from another country, I guess. But it's like Love Island, U.S., and then it proceeds to not equally or fairly represent the US at all.
SPEAKER_00So I know we they don't have any Indians or Asians on there.
SPEAKER_01No, that's a little where are the Indian islanders?
SPEAKER_00Where's the representation there?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, in the Asian Islanders. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, anyway, so this girl, Kenzie, she oh, it's just I don't know how they find these videos. I swear it. They like the like someone releases them on purpose to like harm these people. I don't know. But she was in a video with friends, again, from her past a while ago. Um, and there's a Trump flag in the background. And people were like, she's my oh no, blah, blah, blah, blah. Like, and there's just a Trump flag in the background that doesn't mean anything. And it ended up that her brother and her father, too, I believe. Yep, her father and her brother came out and they say that they don't, they've never voted for that administration. They don't support Trump. They they they don't have nothing to do with that. They actually really disagree with that administration. And it's just like, oh my gosh, you guys, like, there's a flag in the background.
SPEAKER_01And they don't even know where she was at.
SPEAKER_00Who knows? Right. It's someone's house, or like you, you could be hanging out with a friend of a friend and be filming a TikTok and they're gonna show she's from Georgia.
SPEAKER_01I bet there are a lot of Trump flags in Georgia. I mean, that's not I've I've heard crazier things. That's not one of them.
SPEAKER_00Like it's just it's just crazy that that and they were calling for her to be removed from the show.
SPEAKER_01Half, again, half of the country voted for this guy. And if you post a video with a flag showing that you supported him, yeah, then you can get canceled off a TV show. It's like, really? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00It's just crazy to me that yeah, people still can't accept that. They're like they freak out that there's a Trump flag in the background of whatever videos, not even her coming out saying that she's MAGA.
SPEAKER_01No. Well, it's like if half the country voted for him and having a flag showing that you supported him is bad enough. If you can't be on a reality TV show, what can you do? Should you be allowed to be a cop? Should you be allowed to be a teacher? Yeah, should you be allowed to serve in any form on any like lawmaking or court or rulings, any decisions like that? The left would say no, you know, because oh, you support an evil person, so you shouldn't be allowed to do anything like that. But it's like, okay, she can't be on a dating show.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_01What should she be allowed to do?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, let her be on the show. We can vote her off if we don't like her, you know what I mean? But to just say automatically, like, yeah, get her off.
SPEAKER_01If half of all America doesn't want her, then they wouldn't have chosen her, you know? Like they can they can kick her off if they wanted to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But she's really annoying, so they might kick her off.
SPEAKER_00No, I know. I was told that. All the people on this show are so annoying. I don't know, like you already know they were gonna hate her because of the MAGA controversy, and then now she actually was kind of um like annoying, but they're all pick me.
SPEAKER_01All those girls are picking me, so it's kind of ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00But um, yeah. Ugh. But then another cast member, he, Gabriel, follows Trump on Instagram, which I was like, that's kind of bold. Like, you know, you know, people will be checking once the cast list is announced.
SPEAKER_01I don't even follow Trump on Instagram.
SPEAKER_00I think, I think I do.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's not worthy of my follow. He betrayed us. He's a traitor to this country.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, you could imagine the outrage. So then people were also calling for him to be cut from the show because he followed Trump on Instagram. Do you follow him? No. That was my thing too. I'm like, just because you follow him doesn't mean I know people that disagree with Biden and follow Democrats. Exactly. Yeah. I follow a few Democrats too on TikTok. That doesn't make me just because I like to see I like seeing what's up. The problem again is that people cannot separate your political views from who you are as a person. They think that just because you might have voted for Trump, nothing was confirmed, by the way. People aren't looking them up and seeing that they're a registered Republican in, you know, 2020. They think that their political views automatically makes them up as a person. And because they supported someone they didn't like, they're automatically this like bigot racist and they need to be canceled from society. Yeah, I thought we were past that. I really did, because I don't know, the culture.
SPEAKER_01We are in most places, but it's like I feel like a lot of like this reality TV show, what it is, it's gonna have a younger left-wing audience for the most part. I'm not saying like people like us won't watch it, they obviously do. I'm not saying older people won't watch it, but it's like it definitely is more aligned with that crowd. So that's probably some of it. Because I feel like, yeah, for the most part, a lot of the culture, a lot of the institutions like have moved past that, you know, not entirely, like it's still very much real, but it's like you thought we'd kind of moved away mostly from cancel culture, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and also people have been more upset about this than than things found in the Epstein files of their favorite celebrities or politicians.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00There, I I feel like there's been more outrage about this. I would think it would make for an interesting show, a diverse cast with different political beliefs that with different political beliefs is where I was going with that.
SPEAKER_01Maybe there's a reason you watch the show. A diverse cast with different political beliefs. I'm just saying it'd be entertaining if you put like Yeah, and then they cut all the people with different political beliefs and then kept the diversity.
SPEAKER_00I'm saying that if anything, wouldn't you want to see the Trumpies embarrass themselves? Or wouldn't you want to see them get owned by your favorite, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Like I don't know. I want to see like the Trump guy like fighting like the black Kamala chick, like you know, like something like that, being like kind of exactly for the TV.
SPEAKER_00What you voted for him?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they like don't date because of it or something, you know, that would be interesting, but there's no way they would let that slide. No.
SPEAKER_00Talking about politics on Love Island.
SPEAKER_01No, you cannot talk about it, but if you have ever talked about it, then you don't get to be on it.
SPEAKER_00So I know it's like these poor people can never have had an opinion in their entire lives.
SPEAKER_01Well, some of them can if you're on the right side.
SPEAKER_00So even then though, they pick you apart. The two people that were uh that left at last season were on the right side, not the right side politically, but like the left's the left would view them as the correct side.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true. And they were still but it's because they said those words, you know. It's like yeah anyway.
SPEAKER_00So this is the worst one, the fourth one, and he is still on the show, but I would argue that this was the one that had the most outrage, which I again I thought we were past this, but I guess not. I feel like I'm back in 2020. I'm serious. So another cast member, Sean, is an ex-cop. And everyone has decided that it automatically makes him a bad person. We don't like cops again.
SPEAKER_01Sean's Asian, actually. He's he's the Asian representation.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, I think he is like Pacific Islander.
SPEAKER_01So he's like an Asian police guy. Well respected. Ex-cop or current cop?
SPEAKER_00I read that he had quit, he quit his job to go on Love Island. But when but when we when we watched the intros, it sounded like he was still a cop.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, and we're tearing him up for it.
SPEAKER_00It's terrible. It's terrible. Because he's a friendly neighborhood police officer from somewhere, you know, like yeah, and and again, like that's my point is that he's not like people would be upset if he was a white cop because some automatically that makes you racist somehow. But he's he's not white, he's he's brown, you're your guy's his favorite, you know? Yeah, and they still that's not enough. Oh, he's a cop. Oh my gosh, like we gotta get him off the show. Why would we have a cop on there? But I found this, I found this video, and I'm not in no way picking on this podcast, it's just it kind of summed up everybody's reactions well. Um, this podcast, it was called Freshly Popped, and they reacted negatively to the um the announcement of the cast. And the comments on this video were like awful. Just awful. So the hosts were basically like, Oh, we don't want a cop on our screens. Like when Sean came up, they were like, No, uh, we don't want a cop on our screens.
SPEAKER_01Don't look, you'll get shot. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, come on. So here are some of these comments on that video. Again, not picking on the creators, it just the comment section really summed up the I guess public opinion well. So one person's like, I will be voting him off at any opportunity. Lol. Like, okay, just because he's a cop. Like, again, the episode, the the season has not even aired. They just know that Sean is a cop and they're upset about it. Another person, vote him off now in all caps. One lady commented, she goes, I personally know Sean. He's an amazing human being, father, friend, and overall person. Voting against someone simply because they're a police officer is disappointing. We should be grateful for honest, dedicated, first responders who serve our communities and work hard to make a positive difference. Good stuff. Sean is a great guy. Take the time to get to know him and give him a fair chance. That's pretty Oh boy. I don't know, that's pretty fair, right? These replies. And then these replies tearing her apart. One goes, is he deconstructing the oppressive and harmful actions police use against the public? No. Then he's just there to collect a check. He needs to focus on his kit and not clout chase on reality TV. Okay, guys, every single person there is clout chasing. What is Love Island?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00They're there for fame and money. You think they're on this show for love? Like genuinely, big B series. You think they went on the show being genuinely, I know they say it, but do you think they really thought, oh, perfect, I'm gonna find my husband that I'm gonna settle down with and and build a house with and have kids with?
SPEAKER_01Bro. Sorry, this next comment.
SPEAKER_00I know, isn't that bad? So again, this is the same, the same lady that was defending him. Another person replied to her comment. This person goes, he's amazing to you. He's quiet when people are getting murdered and unjustly arrested. Your personal experience does not negate all the negative experiences.
SPEAKER_01I can't do this.
SPEAKER_00Again, they don't know anything about this man.
SPEAKER_01That's the opposite. They're saying your personal experience with the guy we're talking about, that doesn't cover, that doesn't excuse, that doesn't negate other people's negative experiences with other cops.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, not Sean personally, just other cops. What? I thought it was bad to bunch everyone together, take one experience, and then have it apply to everything else.
SPEAKER_01It's funny, all these commenters, they all have their names in their profile pictures, you know, and they're all black or brown people that you know, George Floyd fighting against the system, you know, we hate the police. And it really is like I don't know. You ask most black people, most brown people, most people of color, whatever you want to say, they are anti-police. A lot of them. Not all of them, a lot of them. And that's fed to them from the media, from the narratives from 2020, from George Floyd, from all these things. But it's so much so that they are saying back to the other example, what you know about him as a person does not excuse what I know I was told about other police officers in other negative experiences. Like that's how that's how far gone they are. Like that's how I don't know, helpless they are. Like it's it's hopeless.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's no there's no like arguing with that. This one's I mean it's that cut and dry, you know. This one was crazy. Someone goes, does he not deserve love? Right? No likes. No likes. And then someone replies, no.
SPEAKER_01Three likes. Okay, it's like, what have we done?
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's terrible. That one was the one that surprised me the most because I really, I don't know. I thought we were like, Again, I yeah, I just feel like we're in 2020, 2021 again with this whole like cop hate.
SPEAKER_01I thought we were told to believe in modern day America in 2026 that when you group people together and assume that they all have the same thinking, same reactions, same beliefs, same attitudes about everything, that that is racism or sexism or any sort of other, you know, negative classification of a large group of people. I thought we were told you can't say that about blacks, you can't say that about Asians, you can say that about whites, you know, but you can't say that about this or gay people or or poor people. You're not allowed to say that. But when you have cops, then all of a sudden it's all of them, no matter what, no matter where they are, how long they've been a cop, what they were doing before and after, none of that matters. It's all cops are bad. It's ACAP, right? 2020. All of them are bad.
SPEAKER_00He could have seen the horrible police officers that you guys, I guess, all see. And I don't go be wrong, there are. Like he could have seen that corruption and said, you know what? I want to be one of the good ones, though. I want to change that narrative, I want to change that system, and I want to be different from the rest. You literally, you you have no idea what went through his head when he decided to be a police officer. That literally could have been a thought process. But no, just because he's a police officer, he's this horrible man that doesn't deserve love, doesn't deserve to be on Love Island. I like I'm serious, I thought we were past that. I'm like embarrassed to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_01Teachers are indoctrinating kids, if you say gays are grooming minors, if you say whatever, black people commit more crimes, all of that is like, no, you're not allowed to say that because that's including the group in the accusation. You're not allowed to include everyone, you're not allowed to say that because that's you know, racist or wrong somehow, and that's you're you're whatever. But then when they say police are bad, then that's the only version, maybe other than white people, you know. But I feel like that's kind of interchangeable. They view white people and police as the exact same. They are the structural, hierarchical, governmental, you know, if you will, ruling, oppressive body. And that's how they view us. Colonizers, crooked cops, you know, making the justice versus serving the justice, whatever. They view us the exact same, honestly. So, other than white people, the only other group you're allowed to say that about is the police. So, like, yes, there are bad cops out there, just like there's bad teachers and bad doctors and everything else. There are bad people and good people, obviously. What's funny is you can say you've you found the worst cop. You found a racist, terrible, oh, he's an evil guy, whatever, whatever, terrible police officer. And then you have Sean, this cop, who's who everyone that knows him says he's a great guy. But they're the exact same. Why? Because of their job, because of their affiliation of what they do for work, which is a police officer. And it doesn't matter if he's in the south or the north or he's in a big city or a small town. Apparently, all cops are the exact same. They're all bad. And this guy, Sean, is not worthy of love, even. And he should get off the show and take care of his. Kid.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. So, like, that's what they're saying.
SPEAKER_00But it's which is crazy because last season, I don't know if you guys watched, there was a mom on there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And no one said anything. They were like, good for her. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01They said, This is so good. She's out there. She's trying to make a better life for her and her daughter. She's bringing home the bread. She's gonna win this and make a name for herself. And then the cock was on the show, and it's like, what is he not? What is he not doing at home? Why did he take a break from serving the communities and his family? Like, right. Get him back there. You know, it's like, really?
SPEAKER_00Does anyone hear themselves? Anyone?
SPEAKER_01No, it doesn't work. It's just hypocrisy. They won't see it. They're too dumb, they're honestly too retarded to see it. Like, it's just it's low IQ and it's and it's toxic groupthink and it's pressure from people when you see something they don't like, like the Trump flag or maybe a registered Trump voter or a police officer. They pressure and they get together and they group up and they say, No, we don't like this. No, we're against this. No, he's bad because he's a cop. She's bad because there's a Trump poster, you know. She said the N-word once, you know. It's like, and then that's is what like rallies them behind these shows to, you know, whatever, have backlash. And that's what puts these shows in future, future seasons and future shows to know, hey, oh, we shouldn't do that. Hey, we should stay away from white people this time. Hey, we should stay away from ah, she looks like she might vote for Trump, you know, or ooh, this guy's a cop, we cannot do that again. Remember last time?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right, exactly. Yeah, so yeah. Right, exactly. Yeah, and you guys are gonna ruin Love Island, they're not gonna do this anymore. And everyone's saying, like, oh, they need to do background checks better, blah, blah, blah, blah. Which, okay, fine, maybe for the maybe for the slurs, right? I get it. But like, I I don't think that's an issue if a guy's a cop, and I don't think it's an issue if one guy follows Trump. Like, that isn't in a background check. That's not gonna be a red flag because of their job and their potential political affiliation. Potential.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I guarantee you, Sean had a harder background check getting his job as a police officer than anyone else on that show did, getting their job or even getting on the show. So it's like, okay, background checks, that's the solution.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You want the hosts to maybe like scour everyone's social media page and any video game account or any other random social media account they had when they were younger. You know, you want them to look through all that to find someone that you like ideal ideologically agree with, like, really. So sorry we spent the entire show talking about Love Island. Um, I wish it didn't come to that. It won't always be like this. We might do like a reaction video to one of them.
unknownHi.
SPEAKER_01Because like sitting there, I'm like, I can't do it. I really can't. No, it's pretty but we'll have to see how the rest of the season we'll have to see how the rest of the season goes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's it's off to a really rocky start. I don't know. We'll see. But also, also, happy Pride Month. It's June again.
SPEAKER_01Again, we we forgot this year and last year. It's really been toned down the last couple years, so I appreciate that. Um we're kind of transitioning back into the closet, you know, like toning it down, keeping the colors away a little bit. I know you guys are out there, you're loud, you're proud. Yeah, I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_00Um, but it's like we see you when we recognize the effort. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01But we can see you from afar. The last two years have been honestly great. It's like, I don't know. You I feel like you can tell. Like go around outside, yeah. You can tell a difference. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00It's gay people say the same thing. They're like, this is kind of this is nice.
SPEAKER_01Let's where's my pride at? That's all they'll say, you know.
