You know what mentorship is and the importance of it is? It is for the things that you have learned that you can now teach. And you don't have to necessarily be a teacher to do it. No, it's just helping someone else on their journey. You know what I've learned from experiencing X, Y, and Z? And then sure enough, I promise you, you will be led, or someone be led to you to say, you know what? I'm having this experience and it is draining me, or I don't know how to deal with it and what to do. And you think, oh my goodness, this is why I experienced why I was meant to be.
SPEAKER_00But the more I dropped, the more the body, it's not the best. It's I didn't need in my stream.
SPEAKER_01Hello, beautiful. Welcome to another episode of Becoming Serene with me, your host, Ruth Serene, Devonet South Hall. It is so wonderful that you've joined us again today. Thank you. I am so excited. This podcast was created just for you. Women like ourselves who are enjoying the journey of peace and pursuit of purpose. And today's conversation is so wonderful. I'm excited because it's all about community and mentorship. Two things that I strongly believe in. Why? Because I'm a product of it, and it's something that I am creating. The purpose of community is for us to heal and grow. How many of us have friends and family in our lives that I don't need anybody else? I don't need any more friends. I don't even like people. I don't care for women. One thing after another about what they don't want or think they need. However, I want to share with you, we do need community. We were created for community. Even Jesus himself had his disciples, his entourage, if I dare call it that. Because even Christ needed community. And you know why? Because it gives us an opportunity to pour in and receive. Now I'm not saying that you have to have a tribe all the time and that they stay the same. No, there are some people who come into our lives as you have probably heard before for a season or even for a lifetime, but there are always people who can come into your life and teach you a lesson or help you learn a lesson, regardless of whatever the reason. Let's just talk about it for a minute, shall we? Community. What does that look like for you? We could talk about our families. That's definitely a community. And some of us are happy in our family community, and some of us may not be very content with the family that we're naturally born into. We all have different situations. Your co-working life, maybe if you've gone to school or you're in school, um, like I said, your surroundings, your community where you live, all of these places have people that you get to choose to do life with on a more personal level, or if you just continue to keep people on the outskirts of your community. That's you know, neither here nor there. But remember, if you watched the last episode talking about boundaries, and if you haven't, please go ahead and check that out. You can definitely limit the access to you according to your core values and what people bring to you. Are they always pulling energy from you, or is this someone who has poured into your life for a season, like I said? But I want to talk about how important having community and wise mentorship is. So Ecclesiastes 4, 9, and 10 states that two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Because, friends, why will we try to do everything alone? Think about that. Why? More than likely, if you are someone again who has learned what your natural strengths are, your abilities, your gifts, your talents, there is someone out there who complements your strengths. Like I'll just use myself as an example. I love people, I love socializing, I um love to create an atmosphere where people can socialize and enjoy themselves. But guess what? My counterpart, those who, dare I say, are more introvert styled and they're more structured and detailed, they compliment me. I seek those people out because most of the time I don't know if I'm coming or going. I have lost track of time. I'm trying to figure out what was it I was supposed to do next, where am I supposed to be next? But all of my twin friends, they are way more structured and they keep me on track. They keep me on my toes. They say, Ruth, have you registered for this yet? Did you know the next step is this? Have you already filled out this? Have you uh submitted that? That's where it counts. That's where having community counts. And it's more of harmony, not simply balance, but it creates harmony in your life when you know what it is, the strengths that you bring to the table, and then where your counterparts, how they fit into the equation as well. So let's talk about the mentorship piece of this. One of the things that I have learned in my life and on my journey is that you know what mentorship is and the importance of it is it is for the things that you have learned that you can now teach. And you don't have to necessarily be a teacher to do it. No, it's just helping someone else on their journey. You know what I've learned from experiencing X, Y, and Z? And then sure enough, I promise you, you will be led, or someone be led to you, to say, you know what? I'm having this experience and it is draining me, or I don't know how to deal with it and what to do. And you think, oh my goodness, this is why I experienced that, this is why I went through that, so I can share this. And yes, friends, if there is a book in you, then write that book. Like, what are you waiting for? If is there a podcast in you, turn on the mic, hit hit record on your camera, on your phone. It doesn't take anything extravagant, big, a lot of money. It doesn't even take a whole lot of time. Tell your story, journal it. Like, just start. Any platform is fine. You don't need anyone's approval. No one else's. Don't wait for somebody else to green light what it is that you already know that you've been called to do. Hello, beautiful. Thank you so much for joining me for another episode of Becoming Serene. So thank you so much again as we continue our journey together of becoming serene. Now I'm about to be very specific about my journey, the whole purpose of my podcast, my journey, everything that it is I've been doing. I know that I have been called to speak to and help teachers because that's who I am. And this platform was created to give voice to profess with purpose coaching, to help other teachers realize that there are so many different ways that you can utilize and impact and expand all of your transferable skills into a way that you can not just make additional streams of income, but just to walk in your strengths and to share your passion with the world. And when you do so, oh my goodness, you will be unstoppable. And everything that you desire, everything that you desire will begin to come into fruition. So, friends, this is your opportunity. If you have not checked out my website, please do so. I welcome you to take the survey on that link provided right here, and so that you can tell me how I may assist you. Because, like I said, you were never meant to carry any burden in this life alone. Absolutely not. You don't become weak with support, friends, you become wiser. Let me support you. Teachers, I understand. I understand the weight, the burden, the burnout, the inadequacy, the unappreciation, all of the things that we sometimes feel as we pour out and help others all the time, day in and day out. So once again, please check out Profess with Purpose and let me know how I may support you. Because I want you all to understand if you have had any types of struggling lately, I want to know about it. I want to hear about it, and I want to know what type of support you need. How does that even look? If you've had some great ideas and no one else told you that's a good idea or you should do that, let's have that conversation because I can guarantee it that I will say, girl, what's taking you so long? Like, are you kidding me? I wish somebody had told me about that. I wish somebody had presented that opportunity to me. So, dear friends, once again, thank you so much for your support. Everyone who has been following and watching and sharing, Becoming Serene, you are the reason that I'm still here. Thank you so much again. And if this episode has blessed you, please don't forget to subscribe, like, and share, and definitely let your teacher, friends, and administrators know that there's someone here who understands and would love to support. So, until next time, as always, stay serene. Thanks for watching.
