Check two on two How now brown cow.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so the only problem we had yesterday was we got a little everybody laughing and getting loud at the same time. It makes us echo and there's all that crap, but that's okay. Oh yeah, it's gonna be there. Freaking Jared.
SPEAKER_09You guys are talking over each other.
SPEAKER_02Ready? Beyond God ashes. Damn. That was like a one-eight hundred number should be attached to that.
SPEAKER_07Because you always leave the beginning in there. And I'm like, it is kind of funny. It is on purpose. I know. Welcome back or welcome to the Hot Ashes Podcast. I'm Lady TK Baby. The show where we sit around at a cigar shop and talk about everything and nothing at the same time. We are here in Swansboro, North Carolina at Sejo de Asmar Cigars. AKA better known as Georgia Cigars. And we are smoking cigars on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Uh if you're listening, which uh that's what is it if you're listening to this, if you're watching it. You have to be. I know, but it is it if you're listening, if you're watching. It's both now. That's gonna be a problem. I was gonna say we're just firing right off. Yeah, sorry, sorry about the noise, but again, one, two, three, four. Beautiful, beautiful motorcycles. We've got five to six. We got a group going by, so uh bear with us. Man, what a good day for it, too, though.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say, I think what needs to be understood about this show at certain moments is um it's a beautiful day in Swansboro, North Carolina. I'm I'm expecting that some people listen from around here, but if the there are listeners that don't live around here, um just imagine your optimal day outside, and yeah, you're gonna have people driving by by the water on their motorcycles, in their cars.
SPEAKER_07Absolutely. And yesterday's episode, or if when by the time you hear this in last week's episode, uh yeah, we recorded yesterday, and all these cars, all these beautiful cars and beautiful motorcycles are going by. So this time we left the shades up. We're trying something different for the uh for the view.
SPEAKER_02I think we'll be alright.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I'm hoping. I feel like I'm more in frame than you are. I can move. Ask Roger if he can see. You need to press a button to move. Nah, nah, nah. You're good. Forget it. We're good. He's good. So, what am I smoking? I am smoking a San Cristobal. It's a Dominican, it's a good smoke. It's a little lighter than than I uh like, but it's earlier in the day, so a lighter smoke is what's called for. And I am drinking a hazy little thing, I about you, TK.
SPEAKER_02Um uh George gifted me a cigar today. He sponsored my smoking with the uh the George's box press Maduro. Nice. Just uh we go to those a lot. We do, don't we? Yeah, I mean hey man, when you like what you like you like what you like. Sure. I would invite anybody that's listening to try one. We could uh send them out, drop a comment, drop your email, drop some postage, and we can uh we can get it gone. And what are you drinking? Same thing as you, man. Another donation. Hazy little thing. It's not as cold as I'd like it to be.
SPEAKER_07Microphone three. We're two days in a row. Roger two weeks in a row.
SPEAKER_02On the two weeks in a row from the record, from the start of it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. What's funny is we all just ran inside and changed clothes and came back out to do another episode. It's the same day, really. It really is the same day.
SPEAKER_09Still 75 degrees out. Uh, so I'm drinking, I got uh, this is out of minor case. It's uh some seven-year MGP rye, 95.5, and then I got some Cherry Coke Zero, and I am smoking an EP Corillo uh Encore, which is uh Nicaraguan Piro. Uh not too dissimilar from George's uh house cigars, but this one's a little bit more mild. I like George's is a little bit more full. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But you were on the uh cigarillos last episode. Yeah, oh yeah, that's it.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, those little flavored tobacco specials.
SPEAKER_07Um did Randy bring those? No, I brought them. Oh, you brought the topics?
SPEAKER_09I brought them just because you know, because we were smoking pipe cigars. Yeah, but mine really didn't. It was because of the coffee, and it paired well with coffee because it was like a creamy coffee flavored vanilla, and so that was the whole point was to pair it with the coffee.
SPEAKER_07Mine remember mine didn't even end up smoking all the way down. Like it was I was having a hard time with it. But yours, you just dripped it right through. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02In a good in a good way, it it smoked great. That's why I smoked it so fast because it was so good that I was just puffing away. Consistency is probably one of the hardest things to all clips. Well, the thing is about the Tabox and the like uh I think Solange had one on the show before one time. Like once it gets to like a certain smallness of ring gauge, I'm like, is this a backwood?
SPEAKER_09Giggity, giggity, giggity.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you did say that.
SPEAKER_09Definitely feels like you're smoking a roach at the end.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's you know, I wasn't gonna say that, but you know, I would I I'm assuming it still tastes like a cigar, duh.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it's just there's it's already it's already small and skinny. There we go. Yeah, but the by the time you get to the end, it's like a timing thing.
SPEAKER_02It's like, hey, I don't have time to smoke a whole cigar, so that's also what's good about a pipe.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_07And what are you drinking?
SPEAKER_09Oh, I already said. Oh, did you? I got this is not a minor case. It's a seven-year rye. Oh, that's right. Okay. 105 proof.
SPEAKER_07Is that what you drank yesterday?
SPEAKER_09Sure did. Did not change out the bag and just kept everything in the city. When you like, yeah. If you like what you like, what you like, you like what you like.
SPEAKER_07The best thing is what you like. Exactly. Which one's the best? Well what's your favorite? Then that's the best. Right. You know what I mean? We talked about it.
SPEAKER_02You can't put a price on it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I think uh it's just the same price as freedom, isn't it? Doesn't it cost a buck oh five? Nah, freedom's not free. No, it costs a buck oh five. That seems a little cheap. Anyway, uh who do we got on mic for?
SPEAKER_09Is it on?
SPEAKER_06Uh, they call me Rusty. Yes, yes, they do. Rusty is my stage name. What you smoking? Smoking or George, of course.
SPEAKER_00Giggity, giggity, giggity.
SPEAKER_06Sorry.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_06And I'm drinking some Old Forester 1920. Ooh. 115 proof. That's my staple go-to. Some heat.
SPEAKER_07Old Forester's your favorite.
SPEAKER_06I I think that's my go-to. I don't know if it's my favorite, but it is my easiest known. I can see it, and it's on the right price range, and grab it, grab it, and go. It never disappoints.
SPEAKER_09Great flavor. Great flavor. I know you're not too into whiskey. I'm going to World Forester next month.
SPEAKER_07Don't have a preference. I just don't have a favorite. You know.
SPEAKER_09I gotta do a uh a lineup for you for you to figure out what sort of flavor profile you like. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You're gonna do a line for Lee. There's there's certain like bourbons and whiskies that I that I'll get, you know, more than once, Nob Creek or Woodford Reserve, or you know, things like that.
SPEAKER_06Well, even the nine, even the old Forester lines, some of them have different flavor profiles, each one of them do actually. So you might find one that's say the hunterproof that's $29.99 the bottle, but then you got the bottle and bond, which is about $50 a bottle. Even though both are hunterproof, completely different.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I wish I uh I wish I had the um I'm sorry, I'm trying to concentrate on what he's doing. Carry on, my wayward son. Uh I wish I remembered what the scotch is that that we drank over at Ed's that night. I really do you know what type of scotch it was? It's George gave it to me, and I I just I told him I didn't drink scotch, but it was a good scotch. So of course I'm bringing it over to re-gift when I go to Ed's, like, here we go, brought a bottle.
SPEAKER_02There's only three sips taken out of it.
SPEAKER_07Nuh-uh, dude. We drank, we drank that shit. No, I was joking as in like you took a few sips and then I was like, Here, Merry Christmas. Yeah, here. And then uh, but then but uh we were here with what's that guy's name, Tony, a long time back, a while back.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I have him as a friend on Facebook.
SPEAKER_07Tony or you're talking about Steve. Tony with the with the the your buddy that worked at the dealership.
SPEAKER_06Oh, Tony, yeah, Tony.
SPEAKER_07I knew. And he had a he had a scotch one day that was awesome. And I was like, I didn't take a picture of it. Why didn't I do that? So that's why I don't like scotch. Well, it depends on what's fine too.
SPEAKER_06Some scotches are super peedy, super hot. Yeah, I don't like the peaty stuff. Like Valvini is really smooth. Omar's a super smooth. One of the ones I like. Yeah. So do you like more peaty?
SPEAKER_02Like you like the peatier? No. Um, I'm not like well averse enough to know. I'm on some like, if I like it, I like it.
SPEAKER_07Well, if you taste if you tasted a real PD one, and somebody said that little.
SPEAKER_02So what's a brand, what's a brand of a real PD one? Uh if you had to go off the what's a what's a mainstream PD? Artbeg? Artbeg. What's what's Johnny Black? Blended. Yeah. So not Petey then? That's like one of my favorite scotches. Johnny Walker just as like a benchmark, bench Johnny Walker Black.
SPEAKER_07Like what's the stuff that John had here for his birthday that time? How can we beat that out?
SPEAKER_09Yeah. You're too lazy to do that. What do we want to talk about last night? I will say that the uh the in order for you to figure out what type of scotch you like, you gotta figure out what region of Scotland it's coming from. Right. Um certain ones are like Isle, I S L A Y. That's like the t typical like super peaty stuff. Highland is more like Glen Levitt, uh, which is you know, no, I've had that. Yeah. And you probably like that. And so I did like it. So then you're like, I like Highland scotches. I don't like Isle scotches, and then that makes it a lot easier when you go to a bar and you're trying to figure out what to drink. Right. And I think that when you know, when Lee's like, I tried it and I liked it, that's probably uh way more important because I think people get uh kind of narrow field of view with the brand. Like we were talking before, you probably like probably like Johnny Black better than you like Johnny Blue.
SPEAKER_07We know he's we already know he doesn't like Yeti.
SPEAKER_09Well, let's bring the trolls out.
SPEAKER_02I don't want any I don't want to get I don't want to get annihilated two episodes in the same months. So but the thing about Johnny Blue is is like See, I feel like whatever I'm about to say next. Yeah, it's it's gonna open a door. No, I'll I'm always gonna try to talk about flavor, and it's like these people are like, have you ever had Johnny Blue? Let me say it on camera. Not that many times. Yeah. So when I have had it, it's just This is gonna sound so bad. No, it's not because I'll probably smoother Johnny Black. It's just it's just smoother. It's it there is hints of it's this you can tell it's the same brand, it's just going down easier. It's it's probably just better, it's just better.
SPEAKER_09It's aged a little bit more, it's had some more time to mellow out, and so it's put more there's just less bite on it.
SPEAKER_02It's you can tell it's the same brand, though.
SPEAKER_09But is it worth like five times the price?
SPEAKER_02I mean, if I could afford I mean, that's relative. That's my old master gunny walking up the channel.
SPEAKER_07Especially when I'm watching like shows like Outlander when we were watching that, I'd drink Jameson. Yeah, you know, you like get into the movie.
SPEAKER_09You never got into Peaky Blinders, right?
SPEAKER_02I did, but it was like didn't they just drop the movie after the second?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, you were talking about they dropped the movie, what was it a couple years ago, and then they just did the show. Uh dropped the show on Netflix on March 20th. So that's the new thing. That's a new one, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and it's good. Yeah, is it really? If you like Peaky Blinders, it's uh yeah, I'm not gonna say anything else, but I think it wraps up.
SPEAKER_02Does it like coincide pretty good with like the whole theme? And yeah, Callion Murphy's still in it.
SPEAKER_09Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_07It just got that's optimal. It just got too repetitive and boring to me. Like season two, I think, was when I fell off.
SPEAKER_09There is a chart.
SPEAKER_02Blast him, blast him.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, that's there's a chart being there that tells you uh what episode is most likely to hook people. Like what like episode two, season one of is typically where people start to like fall in love with it, or like you know, they figure out where it is along the the storyline that hooks you like an algorithm.
SPEAKER_07I'm I'm hooked to the pit. That show's amazing, dude. That was a good show, dude. I've been still watching. I watched it a bunch last night, dude.
SPEAKER_02Miami had qualms about that show.
SPEAKER_07Who did? Wait.
SPEAKER_02Who?
SPEAKER_07The pit?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but who had say that again? Why did you just stop? Never mind. I'm thinking about the wrong thing.
SPEAKER_06It's like a is that somebody's name? Pit is the qualm.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it's about the Pittsburgh ER.
SPEAKER_02Never mind. Just kidding. Well, they they call it E D. Yeah, that's what I was talking about. He's talking about a movie about Aaron Pitts. Wait, wait, wait. I'm editing this whole part out. Anyway, the pit backpedal. Now I gotta look now.
SPEAKER_07It's a great show, it's about the ER and how doctors what they have to put up with and how stressful their job is, and man, I'll tell you what, that's that's that's a lot of work.
SPEAKER_09As a first responder, and we don't talk about it. I don't know, I don't think it gets talked about enough. Not that we want to glorify these people, but you know, they're seeing people on their worst days, and they always have to be on top of their game every single time.
SPEAKER_02I can't see the camera, my glasses are polarized.
SPEAKER_06Oh, it's okay.
SPEAKER_02I'll stay behind the scenes.
SPEAKER_09Nobody sees the wizard, no way, no how.
SPEAKER_02Alright, so can I just make a disclaimer real quick?
SPEAKER_09What show were you thinking of?
SPEAKER_02The Rip. Oh. Oh, three letters by the way.
SPEAKER_09It's P-I-T-T, so it's four letters, but whatever.
SPEAKER_07Anyway, I'm sorry. That's fine. I was just making sure Rusty's in the I forgot about that part.
SPEAKER_09Yesterday was a day where I was railing, I was railing Lee. Whoa.
SPEAKER_02Whoa. When I was reviewing the footage, that was not on there.
unknownYes!
SPEAKER_02That was not on the footage. But anyway. Subscribe to our Patreon.
SPEAKER_07Got the home. Go ahead. We're gonna go to the show.
SPEAKER_09Yesterday was a day that I was we were dogpiling Lee, but today's gonna be your day, I think.
SPEAKER_07That's fine. I can't believe I'm gonna say it's always me, though. I've brought this up on the show. It's like you guys are always teaming up. It's all shitting on me.
SPEAKER_09Is it truly that? Or is or is this just your perspective?
SPEAKER_07Uh it's truly that, Doctor. He ain't doctoring me. Is it really happening? Those Jedi mind tricks of his. You gotta be careful what you say around Roger.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07He hypnotize us.
SPEAKER_02It's anything could be psychologically revealing. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_09And I'll sound smart as shit, but it's just like me and my meandering thoughts. He's like, bro, that just gets said out loud. I don't even know where the where the thought is going. I'll start a sentence and I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_07And our dumbasses aren't gonna be able to correct you like with your wording and stuff. I just don't know what that word means.
SPEAKER_02He's like, bro, I work at Win Dixie, actually. The last 10 episodes have been a lie. I am I just work at the grocery store. No offense to never mind. What is Win Dixie?
SPEAKER_07See, now you want to be all careful. Don't do that. Don't let the people change you, man.
SPEAKER_06I'm unfiltered.
SPEAKER_07Don't let the people change you.
SPEAKER_06So next time you guys go to Raleigh, this is completely out of the thing, but you said Win Dixie. Now it gives me something to think outside the box. There is a Whataburger downtown Raleigh now.
SPEAKER_07Oh, really? I don't think I've ever had a but that's a Texas thing, isn't it?
SPEAKER_06It was a Texas thing until probably 2019, and then Chicago company brought them out. So now it says, you know.
SPEAKER_02So they're fully franchised, essentially. Yes. They said that they were putting uh Bojangles in New York City. That is insanity.
SPEAKER_07Okay, hot take. I don't care. Bojangles sucks. Oh no. No, I'm just kidding. The only thing I like from Bojangles is this the spicy the chicken fingers. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's like their flagship item.
SPEAKER_07Those are good. I just wish they had better sauces.
SPEAKER_02I like their salad fingers. My cutters are like their bow berry, which are indeed Supremes.
SPEAKER_09The Bowberry biscuits.
SPEAKER_02Yes. But you have to get extra icing though. Yeah. It's a must.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. It is.
SPEAKER_07Well, are they better than Red Lobster's biscuits?
SPEAKER_09Cheddar Bay, so that's the savory. You know, two different things. I know it is. I know it is.
SPEAKER_07They're two different. It's it's apples and oranges.
SPEAKER_02If I had to take one or the other, which one would I take? I'm doing Bowberry biscuits all day because I grew up on that. I took that. I grew up on that. I said I took that. I don't know. I guess.
SPEAKER_06You guys are rapping.
SPEAKER_02This is your. Sorry, the mic was cutting out everyone. Oh, his was?
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna go with uh Red Lobster. I'm going red lobster. Chetter Bay.
SPEAKER_07How about you?
SPEAKER_09All the way.
SPEAKER_06I don't know. I think they're completely different. They are completely different. They are different.
SPEAKER_07It's almost like what mood are you in?
SPEAKER_06So take a bowberry biscuit, cut it in half, and put a little bit of vegemite in it. Then you get sweet, you get savory, salty.
SPEAKER_02So they did something like that. They, for a limited time at Bojangles, took a bowberry biscuit, cut it in half, and made it a sausage biscuit sandwich. Yes. Which I was like, okay, this is a cheat code now, because you did something what everyone has maybe thought about at one point in time, they took the risk and did it. And made it a limited edition item.
SPEAKER_06So I'm gonna tell the whole world something. Most Bojangle peoples do not know. If you go to the drive-thru, you gotta order the it used to be a 25 for 25, and you get 25 Supremes for 25 bucks and six biscuits. But it's it's a secret thing, they don't know. And now it's 25 for 30, I think, 32, but still, you're you're coming away good with it. So remember the cheat code.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's a meal. I have to tread softly about Bojangles. Just oh damn, you're I gotta tread softly about Bojangles.
SPEAKER_07Weren't you saying oh no? You were saying that um Chick-fil-A had the best coffee. I mean not coffee tea.
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying because Bojangles is oh sweet. We compare sweet tea.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, but I'm talking about WRNS country. You were talking about somebody who uh has the best oh Dunkin' Donuts.
SPEAKER_02Dunkin' Donuts, okay. Which that also got some flamery on the comments. Did it? Yeah. That was also like the podcast equipment comment.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, anything you say, like uh opinionated, they're you know I'm demonized on this. You're gonna know you're not. You're gonna get haters out there that are sitting in mom's basement, you know. I just think that they have good sweet tea.
SPEAKER_02So because there was one thing I used to work at Smithfields when I was like 19, 20 years old. I used to work there. They used to used to have the best sweet tea on the market, hands down. Boom. I'll put a stamp on it for at least from the time I was 14 to the time I was like 20, best sweet tea. But then it was just like somebody came to work and was like, sugar. Oh, yeah. It's and then it was like, dude, there can there is such a thing as too sweet, sweet tea. Like, you gotta rear back a little. Yeah. How about Moore's sweet tea? I haven't been there enough to make an assessment.
SPEAKER_06It's thick, you gotta cut it. When when Madison works, I'll pour up three cut, pour three cutter cup, you know, three-quarters of a cup, and put water in it.
SPEAKER_07What drives me crazy is the ice to tea ratio. If you have a big old pitcher of tea, you gotta go light ice warm. No, you don't, because you're if you have warm tea going in there, that ice is by the time they hand it to me, there's no more ice. Well, yeah. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_09There are some places that store the the sweet tea in a you know, chilled.
SPEAKER_02In the walk-in or something, like they have the bucket in the walk-in and then they pour from that. Yeah, but you gotta know the ratio. That's all.
SPEAKER_09Fast food hack? That's what they need. Grab a drink. Two of the McGriddle patties or the the buns. You know how they at McDonald's they have like the it's like a waffle or a pancake. It's like syrupy flavor. Go to Chick fil A, grab a um a chicken piece, and just do that. It's like chicken and waffles.
SPEAKER_02That's what they call big backtivity right there. That is that is big backtivity. That's a lot of work. You you have to put in foot work to enjoy that meal.
SPEAKER_07You go to that place, I'll go to this place, we'll meet up.
SPEAKER_06Well, I'll drive to Moorhead City and then I'll go to McDonald's and then Chick-fil-A. But that's where it's here, because McDonald's is here and Chick-fil-A is right across the road.
SPEAKER_07So as gross as all this sounds, all this food sounds back in the day when we were kids, man, getting a breakfast like Sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit from McDonald's. The two for two juice or whatever. Me and my brother and my dad would always do that on the way to the airport before we went flying. And then we would always throw up in the airplane when we were kids because we just ate a big breakfast.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, we would bike to school and stop by that McDonald's on the way into school in the morning. And hope, hope that there was no that there was a short line. So you could be late. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02The thing was my favorite thing from McDonald's back in the day. Hotcakes and sausage meal. That was the elite. Still not bad. But the hot cakes are smaller now. Yeah. They're smaller.
SPEAKER_07And the price tag is bigger. Well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's just life. Well, yeah, that's what I mean. It's so it's dude. It's kind of criminal. It's criminal how small they are now, actually. It used to come out. It looks like a McGriddle cake.
SPEAKER_09It used to come out on that styrofoam plate. Yes. Yeah. And it was like separated. Oh. That's it was two styrofoams back in the day.
SPEAKER_02Now it's like the styrofoam with the plastic. Like, yo, we're gonna see what you're what you were serving you now. It's like, nah, I want the mystery. It looked like an egg carton. Did you mess up and give me four hot cakes, maybe? Or maybe two sausage patties? Who knows?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I love when they mess up and give you like an extra chicken nugget or something.
SPEAKER_06Here's where you don't go ahead. Go. So have you got anything in the mail, like gifts for the podcast yet? Except for the uh plaque.
SPEAKER_07Merch. Like the hats and shirts. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06No, man. So if somebody's out there listening and you have a stack of those McDonald's ashtrays, please send them. Like when you could smoke in McDonald's?
SPEAKER_02Yes. I want the other foil ones from the boat. Speaking of Bojangles, remember when you could smoke in Bojangles and they had the tin foil freaking Yeah. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_06Send them all.
SPEAKER_07Please think bad, man. Remember how nasty it smelled inside of like Denny's and Shoni's and Cracker Bowl. Anywhere you went where they were smoking inside. You remember how nasty that was while you're trying to eat your food?
SPEAKER_02Just had a conversation about this last night. I'm I think we may have covered it here, but smoking or non, does it even matter when you're in a building? It's like a smoking or non-matter, really. No, you're gonna it's like a public pool. The peeing sections over there. Oh no. It's still gonna happen, though. And the glass wall that's only 14 feet long.
SPEAKER_07Well, I remember being upset about it because at the time I was a smoker when they stopped letting you smoke inside restaurants. That's bullshit. I gotta go. That's not bullshit, dude. It's it's actually it's better. It's way better. And it's way better now going into places.
SPEAKER_02My whole family smoked, is why I'm saying it's like every time we went in a restaurant, they're saying, Yeah, smoking. Right. But I just think of the people that are in like 1994 that are like, I'll take non, and it's like you're still sitting in a fog of cigarette smoke, no matter what. Like, it doesn't matter. It's one table over still smells like dude, literally, like me and Lee are eating right here, talking to each other, blowing down cigarettes, and you guys are in the non-smoking section, and we're like yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Well, that's uh I always feel that way when a non-smoker comes to hang out at the table, but then again, you know, at the same time, it is a cigar shop, so you should expect some. But he's always here, yeah, and I still I'll still make it a point to blow my smoke away or whatever. Yeah, he doesn't he and they don't say anything.
SPEAKER_09Well, even the people that are smoking, like I still last year at the 34 North show. Man, Nick and I were not uh the Nick MSG Nick. Yeah, uh we're both. Which other Nick are you talking about?
SPEAKER_02He said, let's be specific. I'm so bad. I'm so sorry. He said, let's be let's be specific here.
SPEAKER_09Yes. We were sitting in the back, um, having some cigars. Uh, we got both of our spouses, and we were sitting there first, just chilling, having a cigar. Then this older couple comes and sits at the table in front of us, and we're blowing smoke, and it's not like I can control the wind, but it's like blowing towards her. And she keeps turning around, giving me the stink filling. Like you're blowing it at her, or just like the fact that we're smoking at all was the most absurd thing that we were doing.
SPEAKER_07So she saw a table next to some smokers, went and go sat right at the table next to smokers, and got it. And then decided I'm going to be, I'm gonna insert my my rage right now because I'm the one that owns the entire world.
SPEAKER_09Complete stink eye the whole time. There was even a dog that came up, and we wanted to say hi to it. And she was like, I wouldn't let them pet your dog. They smell like cigars. And I'm like that's kind of insane, though. It's like, okay, it doesn't transfer to be a touch.
SPEAKER_07I'm just there needs to be a Karen song. Somebody needs to write a Karen's song. You look like a bitch.
SPEAKER_06Right.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's the lyrics.
SPEAKER_07You look like a beep. But I think it checks out regardless. Yeah, no, absolutely.
SPEAKER_02I was at 34 n last night and I was I had a pack of cigarettes. Like I was smoking, but dude. I know, whatever. I know, whatever.
SPEAKER_09They're not cool anymore, man.
SPEAKER_02It's cool, yeah. I have a whole did have another story for that. Okay. Anyway, we're at the front gates of like 34 north where you walk in where the outside area starts. That's where I'm standing. I cannot get any more away from anybody than right there. I am literally like at the front of the garden or the terrace or whatever you want to call it. Nobody got mad, but I still think about it. I'm I'm like hitting my cigarette, like blowing it. I'm doing every single thing I can. And I think, and somebody had mentioned, like, yeah, there was people smoking cigars here the other night, and they were like over there, and they like pointed at the corner. Like they pointed at the furthestmost point. I can't believe they were all the way over there smoking cigars. And I was like, dude, we can't get any more outside than we are right now. Yeah, like go inside if you don't want to smell this, just go inside. At the same time, somebody literally sparked a joint. Like, you know, where you stand to play at Heart School.
SPEAKER_07Oh, I smelled it, man.
SPEAKER_02They stood center stage with the band that was playing last night. Sparked up.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, not that that other night, though, I had smelled something.
SPEAKER_02Dude, no, this person was like in the middle of front and center stage, and no one was like, it smells like weed out here. It's like there can't be come on now. I was like, really, dog? Because like marijuana that puts off thick clouds. That that's potent. That's insane. I mean, cigars are potent, but you spark up a whole blunt, dude. It's it's different, man. That you're gonna I smelled it at the bar. I was ordering a beer. Inside, garage doors down, and I'm like, dude, someone just lit something up. Yeah, so you can't tell me about a cigar, much less a cigarette when you're 50 feet away from me. Like, come on now.
SPEAKER_09Not only are we not breaking any rules, but the establishment actually encourages cigars because that's why they sell them there. Yeah, so it's like you got a problem with it don't.
SPEAKER_07It's the type of bar, yeah, it's the type of place where adults hang out. And if you don't want to act like an adult, well, it's kind of there. Yeah, there's kids there too.
SPEAKER_02No, there was somebody this was like 10 45 at night. There was like children on the city. Well, yeah, I mean, let's get your kids home. It was just like why? Yeah, get your kids home. Right, they should be sleeping. They're gonna get cranky soon.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Delirious. They're gonna start kicking and screaming before we know it. How do you act when you're sleep deprived? Like a dick. Or hungry. Same thing. Sometimes I'm like, why am I so ornery right now? And it's like, well, I haven't eaten since 8 and it's like 5 p.m. So I can't really.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, me to say ornery? Ornery.
SPEAKER_02Because you got all them teeth and no toothbrush.
SPEAKER_06Why you all ornri over there?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, me sleep deprived or hungry is like you know, much further below, but like sleep deprived is not good. Me during residency, that was not a good look. Oh yeah, yeah. Having to see somebody at 3 30 in the morning when it's just like come in and be like, hi, how are you? Please tell me about all your feelings. Tell me about how much your your life is difficult.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah, that's gotta suck. Did you ever do any time in the ER? Yeah, yeah, all the time. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_09We have to do a whole month straight where we're working um 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. And that's where all the yeah.
SPEAKER_07What was your favorite um residency? Like what was your favorite? Because you you you try all the different, you know, cardiology and all the you do multiple.
SPEAKER_09My favorite, I think, and I would never do it again, but the most uh memorable and once in a lifetime was doing transplant when I was on transplant surgery. Um there at UCLA, one of the doctors there does the most liver transplants in the region. And so um you're there for I think it was like a two, three-week block or something like that. Um, and you're there for both organ um procurement where you're flying out to go get a liver, and you're there for um organ transplant where you're putting it in at the hospital. And so you get to see both sides of that, you get to see people, you know, really on they got days left. Okay, and to be able to put in a liver and get them back and where they can lead a fruitful life afterwards, it was remarkable. And you know, I think as a med student, you don't most people don't think that the the med student has really a notable job. We're known for just being there to suction during surgery or retract, one of the two. And in transplant, it's just the lead surgeon as well as the fellow who's like in training essentially. Yeah, it's them two operating, and the job of the med student is to hold the liver in place as they sew the vessels in from above and below.
SPEAKER_02Damn, I think that's pretty critical there.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, and so you know, you gotta hold it weird out of their way, out of their field of view where they can still work on it.
SPEAKER_07And so uh, you know, we accidentally sewed your hand in there too.
SPEAKER_09No, they were your arms you're holding it there for probably like 30 minutes, and your arms cramping up, and he's and you gotta there's so the vessel goes in between these two fingers when you're holding it. So he was telling me you gotta spock it. Like Star Trek, yeah. You gotta spot it, and that's where I'm gonna be sewing, and then he'll be sewing from below. So you're holding it there and just it's all cramping, and he's like, I'm losing you, I'm losing you.
SPEAKER_07Did you also have to spock it when you work in the gynecology department?
SPEAKER_09Sorry. Sorry. It's called a speculum. We use a speculum, man. I'm not doing a whole hand in there. Right, right, right, right. It's a human, not livestock, man. Yikes. But yeah, uh, transplant was one of the best things, getting to go fly out, and they held ceremonies for people that were organ donors, um, where you know they're keeping them alive simply for you know the organs, and then they have a ceremony inside the OR, and then they clamp the aorta, and then they just everybody goes to town. And that is a wild experience to see.
SPEAKER_02That whole phenomenon is insane, actually.
SPEAKER_09Because everybody's just like it's like a garage sale for organs. That's what's crazy. Everybody's going in, like, hey, don't mess with mine, don't like because you're trying to not damage everybody else's stuff. Yeah, yeah. Um, but everybody goes in and they know exactly what they're getting. Um, and so all the transplant surgeons all know each other because you know, but to get that, you know, at UCLA they got a whole bunch of money coming in, so we got to get like a they ordered breakfast for us uh in advance, and then they sent us a limo to pick us up, and then flew out of a private jet, wow, you know, out to Coachella Valley, and then and then coming back. And because it was landing in LA during rush hour traffic, they were like, We're not gonna be able to you know We won't make it. Yeah, so they they sent a helicopter. So flew on a helicopter to to do the it was like a sunset flight too. It was awesome. But yes, that was my favorite rotation.
SPEAKER_07That's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_09Never do it again because I was functioning on like two hours of sleep for those every day. And so it just never gets better. The hours never get better. Never damn. There's three rules in uh when you're on that uh service sleep if you can, eat if you must, and never fuck with the pancreas.
SPEAKER_06Oh man. Well, at least there was at least it was a fuck in there. It was close. Yeah, it was close.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, kind of almost that. That was close, actually. Damn. No, that would be really good. But that just sounded like a vacation. Like if the layman just came in at the wrong part of that description, they would have been like, that sounds like an awesome vacation that Roger had right there.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. You're you're and and they wonder why sometimes doctors seem cranky cranky. It's because it's uh uh quality of life while you're doing all of that and having to put a smile on and deal with people on their worst days is and then they're they're also not acting right too on their worst days. They're all cranky and they've been waiting forever. And so I think the show like the pit really uh encap encapsul that.
SPEAKER_06Well, I thought I was gonna ask you about how how is I know you said it before, but the the show the pit is so well written that it's crazy.
SPEAKER_09It was like, oh my god, look, everything's happened. It's so medically accurate. Um, you know, where I'm sitting there with my wife, and I'm like, oh this is about to happen. Sure enough, it happens. Um it's not just fortune telling or anything like that. It's like you could see just based off of the you know their labs or their certain signs. Yeah, yeah. And um I think they they throw in little snide remarks. Uh you're not up to season two yet, but I'll tell you afterwards. I'll tell you afterwards. Okay. There's somebody whose name um is named after a syndrome that you if you knew about it, then it would make sense in terms of why their character's like that.
SPEAKER_07Okay. I'll tell you later. It's not Luke Gehrig, is it? No. Okay.
SPEAKER_09His name's Ogil V.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_09And so you can look up Ogil V syndrome. Oh, like I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_07Come on, man.
SPEAKER_09Doctor.
SPEAKER_07I'm not that kind of thing. Can you cut somebody open right now? We're not real doctors, remember? No. No. You're a real doctor, though, but I'm not.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I can cut somebody open right now.
SPEAKER_07Jared says he's not a real doctor because he doesn't do surgery. I'm like, Jared, he's a medical doctor. Anyway, Jared just likes to stir the pot.
SPEAKER_02Get you ribbed up. Yeah. Alright, what's next? I don't know. I was gonna have a crazy hot take about medicine, but I just I'm gonna forest it now. Okay. And then it's only be only came as I got older. Um my hot take for medicine is because I don't go get physicals a lot. I think I've had one in like the last like seven years, you know. And as I've gotten older. Well, yeah, that. So two then. Anyway, cough twice. All right, it's a good one. It seems I I mean, I guess it's already a known fact that medicine, there is a lot of guess and check in medicine. Is that correct or incorrect?
SPEAKER_09Very correct.
SPEAKER_02So there's a lot of you don't know who I'm looking at, right?
SPEAKER_07He's the medicine guy.
SPEAKER_09So there's everybody's got experiences too, right? Like we all have um nobody is immune to uh physical health issues, and so we're not we all have you know good stories and bad stories with medicine.
SPEAKER_02So my thing is as far as like when you go to get an opinion from somebody that's a professional, and um, this is not discrediting any profession, you're also getting that uh uh opinion from another human that is very capable of error. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_09That's why it's called an educated opinion.
SPEAKER_07Well, it's sure that's what we were talking about.
SPEAKER_02I'm not saying that doctors don't know what they're talking about. I don't want that to get that misconstrued. Some don't misconstrued.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no. But it's like, well, they're human. It's like what we were talking about with my medication. I didn't know for the longest time that there's these certain things that I cannot have with my medication or the lights out, you know. I have that all the time. What are you talking about? Right. So, like, why didn't I know that?
SPEAKER_02Well, there's also thousands of documented cases where it's like I thought I knew and I didn't.
SPEAKER_07Well, I only know that from sitting around the table, and one of our friends is a pharmd, a doctor pharmaceutical, and he was like, Oh, you can't have that with this. And I was like, What? And then tell me the rest of the things I can't have. Yeah.
SPEAKER_09So and that that information might um that doctor might not even the doctor that prescribed it might not even know that that interaction was even possible. And so, you know, I think the big part of the big part of medicine is being humble to say, I don't know. And that can be very powerful because you know, you don't want to give somebody either false information or false hope, or um leave lead them down a wrong path without them knowing that. Right. You know, you want to be able to because it's a collaborative decision. They're giving you informed consent. You gotta inform them the best that you can and they make a decision off of that. Right. And if you're giving them skewed information because you want them to do X, Y, and Z, it's not working out.
SPEAKER_02I think that maybe some of the uh the hot take comes from um my white coat syndrome. Like I get nervous whenever I have to go get a checkup or go to the dentist or do this, and when I get told something, this and that. That might be just white coat syndrome. Like, dang, I don't want to hear the truth about myself. But I'm like, hey, it's just another person telling it to me. But they I know that they know infinitely more than me.
SPEAKER_09Not infinitely, not infinitely.
SPEAKER_07It's just that they're much more than that.
SPEAKER_02Is the point I'm trying to make make sense? Like it's just another human telling me about myself.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, and they've also been there, you know. They know that they've also been a patient, they know what you're thinking and feeling. It's not like they were just a robot that went up through. Right, of course. And I don't look at them as something. No, no, no, but I I think that more often than I did it again, dude. Well, it's right there to be. It's fine, and nothing's but more often than not, I think we we we put that in our own heads, you know what I mean? And then another thing is ask questions. Uh there was something else I was gonna say about the doctor speaking of doctors. Well, that's what I've actually speaking of doctors. There goes Dr. John.
SPEAKER_09I do think that people get um concerned with disappointing their doctor, and that like causes an issue where they don't tell them the whole truth. Um, smoke. Yeah, just be honest. Like in my line of work, you know, whatever they tell me that they drink, I double it. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And so, in my opinion, and I haven't gone, like I said, in like seven or eight years, but I think if I the next time that I go, I'm gonna have to be level with them and be like, hey, I recreationally drink on a good level. Like, yeah, it only would help them help me if I tell them the truth.
SPEAKER_09Yes, exactly.
SPEAKER_07Well, only if you add and ain't shit you gonna do about it at the end.
SPEAKER_02Well, they're gonna know that. Well, that's gonna be in parentheses.
SPEAKER_09It's all information, right? Once I provides information, you know, you provide information to the doctor. Doctor, it's a conversation almost. You have to have a conversation, and it's if it's going to be skewed one way or the other where there's like some sort of weird power dynamic, then you're setting me up to fail almost. But there is no power dynamic. At the end of the day, the patient, you um, makes a decision. There's no doctor that's gonna be, you know, forcing medication down your throat unless you're not gonna be able to do it.
SPEAKER_02Or the power dynamic is in the power of the patient, and there was gonna be a leverage.
SPEAKER_09Exactly. But that's why it it is so important to be honest about it. And uh because the outflow of information coming from the medical field is only going to be um as accurate as the information coming in.
SPEAKER_02And as cliche as it might sound, it is a total no judgment scenario. It's not like I'm here to tell you about yourself only medically, not about like your lifestyle or what you do when you go out on a Friday night. It's not about that. We'll wait for you to leave and then we'll do that right and joke about it and make TikToks and stuff, but hopefully you don't follow me, but otherwise you're good.
SPEAKER_09So there was this patient, and you're like, that sounds a lot like me.
SPEAKER_02There's someone like me out there, yeah.
SPEAKER_07There's a uh skit like that on uh it's it's that dude, Pete Holmes, and he's like, No, you're you're actually fine. I got this one patient, real loser, still lives with his mom, whatever. That was me. He's like, Oh, what's he? No, no, this guy, I'm like, he just got disappointed. He's like, No, it's been helped. Still me.
unknownDamn it.
SPEAKER_02He tries to make it worse, and it's like, uh sitting a little close to home.
SPEAKER_07Very clever. He's he's he's on the rise, like comedian-wise. Oh, didn't mean to do that.
SPEAKER_02So, in summary, I think not to tot totally disarm like the medical field. I'm not saying that uh medical professionals don't know what they're talking about. It's like I think the more that you get older, the more aware that you become that it's like, dude, this stuff is out there. Bad things are not inevitably gonna happen to me, but like I'm gonna get sick. Things I'm gonna deteriorate as I get older. And then you you look at the guys that hang out with you that have the fibrillators and no, it's not even that, but it's like, hey, like, then it's just your peers are the people that are taking care of you when you go to the hospital. Like, the older you get, you're closer to having a peer that is diagnosing you. You're you're you're talking to somebody that's almost your own age. It's just another, another, another guy that you could hang out with, that you're smoking cigars with.
SPEAKER_09That is the art of medicine, right? Rapport and like making it making everybody feel comfortable enough to just like air shit out. Um and I mean, you know, you you've probably been through a whole line of good doctors, bad doctors, and the the bad doctors are the ones that don't get along that you cannot get along with. Yeah. And it's hard to trust their opinion because you you know, you you don't trust them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it might already be shut off off Drum Street just because you don't like them. You might trust their medical degree, but you don't trust you know them as a human.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you don't uh we've got several here that Which is brutal. That's crucial, that's crazy. You know, with the the family doctor here in town, we've got one doctor who's uh he's on the X list and they know it. He's listed right there. I said, My family will never see this guy again. He had the worst bedside manner.
SPEAKER_07I bet it's the guy my mom was seeing. Here in Swansboro? Yeah, maybe.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we're in Indianapolis right now, brother. Swansboro, North Carolina.
SPEAKER_09Don't forget to like and subscribe. 75 degrees with a light breeze. Come get it checked up.
SPEAKER_07It is it's beautiful. I really wish though that with this uh angle of the camera that you could see the water right now. But I mean it's it's because of the light, it's just so there you just can't.
SPEAKER_06But what you do is you take this mobile mic, yeah.
SPEAKER_09We bring it, strap it out to the to the the waterway.
SPEAKER_07We can't make it that far. We've tried it, but it only makes it past the pavilion, right?
SPEAKER_02Uh about 10 feet past the city.
SPEAKER_09You gotta get a jackery, get like uh those portable um those things are sick, by the way.
SPEAKER_07What is it?
SPEAKER_09The Jacqueries, the sli the the portable batteries.
SPEAKER_07It's like a big uh jump box, but it's for but this isn't a power thing, it's a Bluetooth distance thing.
SPEAKER_02To what? Well you could attach this to the Jacquery and keep it pushing all walk the whole panel out there. Or they they come with solar panels, so it's like they don't die.
SPEAKER_07Or how about you just use just use the plugs and I could just use the Bluetooth on my phone. Yes. You know, that'll be the phone. No, that's the video. I'll I'll walk around and I'm but I'm Bluetooth in my you hear my voice, but I'm walking around with the video. That's how it would work. Yeah, like a phone call. Yeah, and then he you just take this video with that video. Anyway. Yeah. So yeah, give us some ideas of some cool topics and and and stuff to uh to get to. But one of the topics that I wanted to talk about real quick is like like movie and book ideas. Remember what we were talking about that. Well, you're in the movie. Did you already talk about yours?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_07I didn't. Did you want to do that first?
SPEAKER_02My book idea?
SPEAKER_07No, your thing that you were talking about.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you're gonna have to remind me, bro. I forgot already. Let's do My Book Idea. Um We're just at the cigar shop smoking, so I forgot.
SPEAKER_09If you're into sort of like self-improvement and just you know doing better, the Daily Stoic is a book that is uh um 365.
SPEAKER_07Oh, it's like a okay daily thing.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it's a daily thing you read into um it teaches about stoicism, obviously. Um Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, and kind of there's teachings and just how to take life a little bit easier, not letting shit get to you. Yeah. Um kind of viewing the rest of the world and that sort of thing. Um you know, not not uh not not beating yourself up twice with the anxiety of before something happens and then when something happens, sort of thing. Um that's a great book. But uh the other one that I think they came out with a movie with is Project Hail Mary.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's uh that's that's that um what's his name? Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah. The book is fantastic. I listened to the audiobook.
SPEAKER_07It's like sci-fi or something.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah. It's kind of like Armageddon.
SPEAKER_07Scary.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, somebody gets sent. Instead of a whole team, it's a singular person that gets sent out to uh solve this issue. Screw that, man. Yeah. And he's just like a biologist that just I don't think was he a biologist or a teacher? Just really did not belong. Is it any good?
SPEAKER_07Is it good?
SPEAKER_09It's it's great. It's really good. Really liked it.
SPEAKER_07So you're talking movie now.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, so that's why it covered all bases, man.
SPEAKER_07Well, I'm just saying, well, no uh, because the the point was book ideas, like book an idea of a story that you want to write.
SPEAKER_02Oh say what I said. Now I want to know. I forgot. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06What is it? It's killing him. How about how about my serial killer book? Did you tell us about that? Are you about to snitch on yourself on casting? It's called the shitty killer. Oh, yeah. The guy with the septic tanks. Oh. That's how he disposes a body he found is he finds these abandoned neighborhoods and just kills people and puts them in the septic tank.
SPEAKER_07I was thinking the best way to be a serial killer is to go around all the haunted hay rods and just snatch people off the thing because they'll think it's part of the show. It didn't work.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_07It's a guy.
SPEAKER_09It'll be a guy that kills people with icicles because the evidence always melts. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I've seen I've seen those kind of um stupid shows where it's like, oh, shucks, it was this, you know. Yeah. Scooby-doo.
SPEAKER_09This might not be a movie. We knew it was you. Not a movie idea, but maybe like a YouTube or a series sort of thing. Um, just taking veterans out on to a boat to go fishing and just teaching them like how to catch, clean, cook. We were talking about this, you know, yesterday, last episode.
SPEAKER_07How to do the whole thing. Catch clean cook catch to eat.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, and and that's to demonstrate, like, hey, you have control for your life. You can do a lot of things that you probably thought you could never do. And here's like the tactics in terms of.
SPEAKER_02We did an insight with somebody that is actually with an organization that does exactly that. And I'm gonna pull it up just so I can say the name of the organization on camera.
SPEAKER_06Well, I think that electric is it project killing monitors? It's seven of them. Oh, it's not. There's one, there's one out there called Project Healing Waters, and they take vets and teach them how to do that. I thought I thought you said Project Killing Monitors. I thought you said killing monitor. So I was like, no. Heel, heel, boy. Heel, heel, heel. And they they take them and they teach them how to fly fish. And it's there's one right here in Cedar Point.
SPEAKER_07Oh, dude, I want to learn how to fly fish. Yeah. Well, Ben's gonna teach me how to cast, and then we'll probably do it on the Idaho trip.
SPEAKER_09Well, I think the key to that, beyond just like teaching them how to do all that stuff, would be to have like a mental health professional to kind of help, you know, work in some of the mental health.
SPEAKER_07For when they're not catching any fish, be like, it's okay, man.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, not just wow.
SPEAKER_08I mean, Lee would be like the expert on that, right?
SPEAKER_07He would have all of them.
SPEAKER_09I don't even need the mental health expert. I just need to have Lee on. You'd have to sit next to me the whole time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where's the sensor button?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I'm looking for a beep. But to have a mental health provider to just be there to help moderate discussions, because it's not just fish. Like I'm not just wailing down, man.
SPEAKER_02What kind of trip is this here? Yeah. Oh. It's the fallen outdoors, man. That's what the organization is. The fallen outdoors. They take them on guided hunts, they take them on fishing trips, just for the exact point that you were saying.
SPEAKER_09Is it videotaped? Is it videoed and all that?
SPEAKER_02I'm not sure if they videoed it.
SPEAKER_09So I would love to be able to do that where you have like the consent of everybody to just go and then uh it'll document the journey, document, and then everybody else gets gets that information too for the ones that can't make it out on the water.
SPEAKER_07Well, and then and then they see what what fun it is, you know, what an old thing is.
SPEAKER_09And they see what it looks like to have somebody just be open and honest, and maybe somebody's traveled some sort of parallel line where they can connect with that, and they get a lot of information off of that. Um, you know, we live in the day and age where information's everywhere. I mean, w we ought to target some of these audiences that are um, you know, struggling.
SPEAKER_07So yeah, and uh, we've been hitting that topic up a lot, and I think that it's important that we keep doing so. And I think it's also cool that we are bringing people together with the show. You know, they're recognizing each other, and oh, I saw so-and-so was on, and then I haven't saw I haven't talked to that person in years. Yeah, that's that was the coolest thing out there when Well that happened too because I had Marine buddies on here before too from back in the day, and then other ones will say, Hey man, I saw this this guy on the show, and then they'll reconnect or whatever.
SPEAKER_06The Casey and Chris thing was really cool.
SPEAKER_07That was really neat, yeah. Because those two were in the Marine Corps together, and and then Casey came to be on the show.
SPEAKER_06Oh, did he come that day?
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, how many episodes are we gonna talk about that?
SPEAKER_07Uh JK L. So Saudi.
SPEAKER_06Oh, JK. Just the episode that didn't happen.
SPEAKER_02No, it happened um last week. Last week. It happened last week.
SPEAKER_09We just didn't record it. We forgot to hit record. No, we did.
SPEAKER_07I you know, I think about that all the time, and I'm always like just like peeking out to see if it's that red light supposed to be on? Yes.
SPEAKER_02Thank God it is. It is. It is. We know it is. I would rather you say that than is there supposed to be a red light on? Because it's not yes, exactly that.
SPEAKER_09We wouldn't even care if this this camera was on as long as your guys' camera is on. Yeah, it's fine.
SPEAKER_02I don't even know about that. I'd almost rather just have the guests on.
SPEAKER_07On what? The show.
SPEAKER_02Like if it was gonna fail, I'd rather have this one still working and then have them on while we're talking. Right. You know what we look like.
SPEAKER_07Unfortunately. Oh man, I was looking up topics. Would you rather would you rather time travel to the past or the future? We've done that before, haven't we? I think so, maybe. Yeah, we've done that. Let's see.
SPEAKER_06We were talking the other day about putting something on the podcast, and I'm kind of trying to report.
SPEAKER_07We did talk about debates. That's yeah. Where you debate the other side? Just something simple. Where you pick, yeah, like like if you two being the guests, you pick something and you pick which side we are on, and then we'll just like argue for a couple minutes, you know? Milk into cereal or cereal into milk. Well, I already know the answer to this, but you're gonna make us argue the wrong way.
SPEAKER_09Coin flip.
SPEAKER_07Coin flip. We could do this right now.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I already know the answer.
SPEAKER_02Well, everyone knows their answer. Everybody knows the answer. You better put some water in that damn shit.
SPEAKER_09He's just trying to be inflammatory.
SPEAKER_02Of all movie quotes, you don't pick me up on that one, alright. What? Friday, dude. Put some water in that shit. You better put some water in that damn shit.
SPEAKER_07Well, what do we get? What what side are we arguing?
SPEAKER_09Why don't you argue that you should be putting um uh cereal into milk and TK argue that's the same?
SPEAKER_06How about we just let balloon cereal? How about we just let the balloon process?
SPEAKER_07You are supposed to put cereal into milk. That's what I was getting at. No, that's why. That's the true thing.
SPEAKER_06But it's what do you do first? Hold on, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_07You know, when you see a puddle in your yard, right? A big old hole, and it's filled with like rainwater, what do you do? You you dump the dirt in there.
SPEAKER_06No, I let it just drain away. So let me ask you to make it a little bit more.
SPEAKER_07So that's how you fill up a bowl of cereal.
SPEAKER_02You put milk into an empty bowl. As you should.
SPEAKER_00Crickets, cricket, bro.
SPEAKER_02You're not you're not serious. That's what you're supposed to do. Are you just you're just selling that part side of the argument?
SPEAKER_07Isn't that what you're supposed to do? It keeps everybody knows that.
SPEAKER_09Cereal's crispy, it doesn't get soggy.
SPEAKER_07If you just put the cereal in the bowl, because I can't even believe that somebody would ever even do this. Scientifically, the cereal all hits the milk relatively at the same time.
SPEAKER_02If you're letting your cereal get soggy, you're putting too much milk. What what if you're not that hungry then? Then I don't put that much food in there. So then you drink the milk when you're done?
SPEAKER_07If I put or do you pour the milk on the sink? If I'm not that hungry, I'm not putting that much milk in there because I don't want to waste milk.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Oh, so you know exactly the cereal to milk ratio that you're gonna have.
SPEAKER_03Ah, because I got your ass now.
SPEAKER_02So what when you pour the what if you what if there's not enough milk? Then you gotta pour milk on the cereal.
SPEAKER_07It's just like if there wasn't enough anything, you don't do one unless you know that you have enough of both. Nah, that's not working. I'm not gonna go make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich if I see that there's peanut butter but no jelly.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, no. I'm saying when you pour in this much, here's the bowl. Yeah, it's up to here with milk. Okay.
SPEAKER_07You remember there's displacement too. There's displacement. There's displacement.
SPEAKER_02Of course, of course.
SPEAKER_07You get done. So you can't pour all that much milk in there.
SPEAKER_02You get done with the cereal. Yeah. Boom. There's no more milk left. You're still hungry. Perfect. I'm not hungry.
SPEAKER_07I know the ratio.
SPEAKER_02But you don't, though, at this time.
SPEAKER_07But I but I do.
SPEAKER_02So you would you knew immediately what you were gonna do.
SPEAKER_07Absolutely. You know how like when like we had subs.
SPEAKER_02Then we can't even debate that because you had subs earlier today.
SPEAKER_07Can I we had subs earlier today? And I know I'm always only gonna eat half of it, and then I'll eat the other half later.
SPEAKER_02Right. And you were like, take that piece of slami off, because if not, I won't be able to finish this.
SPEAKER_07There will be a bite left. No, but like with cereal, you you know how much to put in there. Also, if you like you just do, like I'm not from years of doing it.
SPEAKER_02If you have if you pour too much, then we still need to go, we're not done yet, but go ahead and do it. It also differs by cereal.
SPEAKER_09Cereal. Let's say you put in too much of that first ingredient, whether it's like too much milk or too much cereal.
SPEAKER_02Okay, thank you for doing both.
SPEAKER_09Okay. What happens if you have too much food and you can't finish it? In your end, you waste cereal and milk. They're both done. Yeah, they're both killed. No, I'm saying, like, let's say you're too full, you can't finish the bowl. You give it to the dog. You now have leftover cereal and milk. Versus in that one, if you you're just pouring cereal into it, and so you dictate in terms of the pace and how much you're gonna eat. If you have, you know, if you're like, I'm full and all that's left is milk, that's easy. You said you're wasting both.
SPEAKER_02So you put milk in the bowl first.
SPEAKER_07Everybody does, dude. That's how everybody does it. I bet you wipe back the front too, don't you?
SPEAKER_02Nah, brother.
SPEAKER_06No, it's psychotic. I bet you face the other way on the toilet, don't you? Well, you say I'm gonna get some stereo and milk. I gotta have the armrest.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you know I used to do that when I was when I was a little kid.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, like how am I gonna rest my elbows to scroll on Instagram?
SPEAKER_07We were talking about we were talking about this yesterday. Uh, when I was a little like toddler, I would just jump up on the toilet facing the wrong way. He was like, Can you imagine if somebody's like, I used to do that when I was a kid?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm not saying anything. This is all speaking of psychologically revealing here, it's like we're dealing with mass murderers on our pretend paths here.
SPEAKER_07Well, to be fair, the toilet thing is true, the serial thing's complete bullshit because obviously everybody knows you pour the fucking cereal. It's like Jesus. We just wanted to see, but you know, but you're supposed to argue it like you absolutely believe it. I was.
SPEAKER_02But you think I'd fucking I was the wheels were turning. I was like, exactly. You're starting to make a solid case here.
SPEAKER_09You're gonna learn a little bit more about Lee here. Is it sock, sock, shoe, shoe, or sock, shoe, sock, shoe?
SPEAKER_06Okay, we can go there. Sock, sock, shoe, shoe. But what sock do you put on first? The right one. Thank you. It used to be a good one. And you can't tell me which one the right one is. No. Imagine I can't put my left sock on first. It doesn't happen.
SPEAKER_07Yes, but it used to be socks, socks, shoe, do you put your socks on before you put your pants on?
SPEAKER_02Have you seen me wear jeans a lot? Do you put your socks on before you put your pants on?
SPEAKER_07If it's pants, yes, if it's socks, no. I mean, sorry, if it's pants, yes, if it's shorts, no.
SPEAKER_02I I if does it not feel weird to put socks on after your jeans are on?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and then pull up your sleeve. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_09That when I put on my uniform, it's socks first. Of course. But normal is the standard. But no, but normal clothes, I will put on my pants first. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Like a pair of jeans.
SPEAKER_09Today I did pants first and then socks afterwards.
SPEAKER_07So real quick, real quick. Now I do sock shoe, sock shoe. And I don't care.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, brother. Isn't it weird?
SPEAKER_07One day I did it, and they're like, what did I just do? And you liked it though. It felt like I it felt like I cannot hear this thing. He experimented and then No, it felt like I jumped timeline. He liked it. I was like, what is this wizard?
SPEAKER_02He was like, hold on, my shoes over there, and then he proceeded to go.
SPEAKER_07Just just just hop over to it. And I would too.
SPEAKER_06It's like a beastie boy song, another dimension. Another dimension, another dimension, another dimension, another dimension.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna fly real quick. You got it.
SPEAKER_02No, it's cool. It's like uh the music video of whenever the guy was uh they did like a special on somebody that had like smoked cigars their whole life, and then they finally had to make a statement on the uh on the news.
SPEAKER_09It's like dateline level, and then they put the thing up, and then it was like that's uh the the old commercials that we used to have, that's what it that's what that always reminded me of, and I would always laugh the commercial, but nobody would ever understand why.
SPEAKER_06You don't always die from tobacco. Sometimes you get a big hole in your neck.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. It's like uh the old um this is your brain on uh on drugs. It's like scrambled eggs, yeah. And it's like uh fast forward it to the 2000s. Like you remember he's talking about the 2005, 2004 era. It was the girl that was like melted to the couch, and like her body like was like the contour of the couch, and it was like people hundreds of thousands of people were still like, yeah, I'm still gonna try it though. That doesn't seem that bad.
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna say something that's gonna have to be deleted from the podcast, but it's like this is your butthole, this is your butthole on dick. Don't try dick.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's all I mean, it's all encompassing. You could just insert anything, no pun intended.
SPEAKER_00Giggity, giggity. I'll be here on that.
SPEAKER_06Even even the thing that starts with the B and ends with S. No. No. I'm not getting that. I think actor of life.
SPEAKER_09Is a is a hot dog a sandwich?
SPEAKER_07No, it was a sensor button. It's a taco. What is?
SPEAKER_09Oh, is a hot dog a sandwich? No, it's a hot dog.
SPEAKER_07Didn't we already talk about that too? We talked about that offline. We did not talk about this on here. Is a hot dog a sand? No, it's a hot dog. Because the bun is one piece. Well, but then as a hoagie a sandwich.
SPEAKER_09That's what I was thinking. Is a Philly cheese? Yeah. It is a sandwich. It is a few. It's gotta be.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's something that's holding bread. So a hot dog is a sandwich. That's weird.
SPEAKER_02Hot dog is a sandwich. It's a taco, bro.
SPEAKER_07What are the best hot dogs?
SPEAKER_02Oh. Do you like your hot dogs?
SPEAKER_07I like uh going to the ballpark and getting a hot dog. When I was a kid, man, we'd go to when me and my brother played baseball, and the that right there in Virginia Beach, where whatever hot dogs those were, we would get chili dogs, and they're the best freaking chili dogs I've ever had in my life.
SPEAKER_09What is your go-to hot dog? I get like ball park condiment uh like option. Are you doing chili cheese like 99% of the negative?
SPEAKER_02Matter of fact, it depends on the place. Yeah, it depends on where I'm at.
SPEAKER_07Just mustard, really, but I like relish mustard, I like onions, sauerkraut.
SPEAKER_09Pickle juice. No, dowz it with pickle juice. There you go. I did have to refill my pickle with the roast beef sandwich, but instead of dipping it in algebra instead of pickle juice, he's like, Yeah, I don't grill my hot dogs, I boil them.
SPEAKER_02Oh, in water? Nah, pickle juice.
SPEAKER_07I did I did refill my jar today. I was like, and some for me. Yeah, I was telling him I would have this big giant pickle jar. And and and it was, you know, two days after I bought it, the juice is down to here, but the pickles are still it's the pickle juice, man. I love it.
SPEAKER_02Like if I'm grilling out at home, it's does the Hannibal Lecter. It depends on what like condiments I have on hand, which I'm gonna have ketchup and mustard 100%.
SPEAKER_09But so you are a ketchup person on a hot dog.
SPEAKER_07I can do ketchup on a hot dog, but uh, it's not my favorite.
SPEAKER_09And but for you, that's your go-to. You gotta have ketchup on it at minimum.
SPEAKER_02No, I'll eat a plain hot dog. Like, I'll just rip off a hot dog like straight up.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, remember those pictures of Jared as a kid when he had the hot dogs all the time?
SPEAKER_02Do you eat it cold? Do you eat a hot dog cold? I have done it. Cooked already, though. Cooked already, not a raw hot dog.
SPEAKER_09Nothing hit when like uh when you came home from school and there was no hot dog buns, and so you do a hot dog on a piece of white bread. Let's go. I've done it.
SPEAKER_07I do that to this day. What do you mean when you get home from school, man? If I'm out of buns, bread works just fine.
SPEAKER_06That's what I'm saying. Like a raw hot dog out of the fridge on a white piece of bread.
SPEAKER_02I've opted out of buying buns because it's like I have bread at home. I've literally opted out of buying buns because it's like uh we have a whole lot.
SPEAKER_07I like a bun better. And I don't like the bun to be freaking gigantic, but I do like a grilled bun.
SPEAKER_09Oh, yeah, you gotta get it toasted.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, nice. Like, yeah, throwing it.
SPEAKER_06So that's when a hot dog becomes a sandwich when you put it on a piece of white bread.
SPEAKER_07No, bread's bread.
SPEAKER_10I'll agree with that.
SPEAKER_11Open face angle. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean, if you think about it, a sandwich it it's it is a sandwich. It's bread with meat in the middle.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah, but you're eating your hot dog with the butt of the sandwich or the heel.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I'm sorry, not the butt.
SPEAKER_06But it is like a bread out around it.
SPEAKER_09So it's still a sandwich.
SPEAKER_07Hey, have you ever made bread? Yes. I wanted to make sourdough. I've made sourdough too. I had my own starters until I killed them both. Did you make it? Was that a COVID thing? No, I just, it's a YouTube rabbit hole thing.
SPEAKER_02And then I just like a Did you make it in a Dutch oven?
SPEAKER_07Yep.
SPEAKER_09What the big extra body, right? Yeah. It was during COVID. Did you do cut the designs on it and all that stuff? Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And it turned out awesome. Yeah, my third one did.
SPEAKER_06But that was during COVID, though.
SPEAKER_07Was it? Yes. But you remember I was making the sourdough and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_06I do remember.
SPEAKER_07But I was doing it way after COVID too. My sourdough starters, I had them going for a long time. Ooh, and then I used the discard for um you spread it out on parchment paper.
SPEAKER_06Oh, that was so delicious.
SPEAKER_07And then um and you put it in at like 175 or 200 or something in the oven for a couple minutes or whatever, just to get it thick. Then you cookie, uh, cookie cut it, basically, uh pizza, pizza roll cut it. Uh-huh. Um, and then you pour some salt, pepper, garlic.
SPEAKER_06Let me tell you.
SPEAKER_07No, first you do salt, pepper, garlic, and I broke it them up, brought them here. It is crack. It is crazy. Yeah, that was that's the boy. Which is crack by the way. So good. It's just it's a crack. It's a cracker. It's a but it's a sourdough cracker, so that combined with the the SP.
SPEAKER_02Me and a column made our own croutons recently, like just uh broke up bread pieces and like seasoned them up and put them in the oven with some olive oil. And it was like, why are we buying croutons?
SPEAKER_07There's a lot of why are we buying? You can make your own butter too, that's even more easy.
SPEAKER_09It was crazy how easier I can make green butter. It was crazy how COVID brought out like two different sides of people where they all there were like the people that just stayed on their computers all day, and then there were the other people that were like, I need to get out the house, I need to go do stuff, I need to make sourdough, I need to go fish, need to go rock climb, go do something.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Some of those people had never been out of the house before. And they were like, Oh my god, and they discovered their life was beyond the walls of their home.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it was it was pretty cool to to watch that, especially like I was in um in LA during COVID. And so I yeah, we were seeing all sorts of the the same sort of toilet paper shortages, and like you know, there were like curfews with the times you could be out and all of that, and it was wild. Uh, but you know, there was a select group that just left the student housing because they were like, there's no point in being here. We can hop online on Zoom or whatever to to get to our classes or whatever, if even if we're out in Utah, you know, uh rock climbing. And so that's what a bunch of them did. They all left and just grabbed campers and then just went out there. That's cool.
SPEAKER_07That's great. Yeah, dude. That'd be the way to do it right there. Yeah. Away from everybody.
SPEAKER_09Away from everyone, and you're if anything, you're there with like-minded people. Because there were other people there, and everybody kind of had the similar idea, but nobody knew that anybody. And they were like, Oh, you're doing this too. Like, yeah, we I needed to get away from the town, so people like inside Denver, like in the city center, were going out there, and cool. Um Vegas, they were going out there.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's cool. Well, we went from hot dogs to that. Man, I was hungry. No, I'm not hot dogs. No, there was something we were just talking about, because we've talked about chili before. Because you can always get a good, a good like what what are some foods that that people would think that maybe they're the best at? A brisket or um before you make fried chicken, brine it with pickle juice. You know, chicken salad.
SPEAKER_02Like chicken salad, but mac and cheese, tuna, how you make your tuna sandwiches.
SPEAKER_07Okay, tuna. Do you put pickles in yours? Yes. I put diced pickles, sweet pickles or regular pickles?
SPEAKER_02Oh, like dill relish.
SPEAKER_09I slice up, I dice up some gherkins. Gherkin'?
SPEAKER_02I didn't slice up the dill. Do you put apples in your tuna? No. If I if they were available, I would. I would not. Have you guys ever seen the video of like Matthew McConaughey's uh tuna sandwich recipe?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, the people didn't know what um when he said jalapeno chips, he didn't nobody knew kind of what he was talking about.
SPEAKER_02People also didn't know what gherkins were, too. Like they he was they were like, What's gherkins?
SPEAKER_07Gherkin? And did you try it? Is it any good?
SPEAKER_02Well, I didn't want to go buy that many ingredients. Maybe gherkin. On basic, so I don't need all that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like if I'll look if it's if I have it, if I'm missing something, I'm like, eh, too complicated.
SPEAKER_02Well, like my basic tuna fish sandwiches. Yeah, mayonnaise. I I need to throw some mayonnaise in there 100%. Hot sauce. What kind? Do you use miracle whip or mayonnaise?
SPEAKER_07Mayonnaise. Bro, I'm going straight dukes. Dukes. I like dukes, my mom hates dukes. It's nothing but the dukes. My mom hates dukes. Really? Is that helmens? Yeah, she likes helm's.
SPEAKER_02And it's like a divided can. I know.
SPEAKER_07I'm like, then you use that and I'll use this because I make that that uh Mike's farm.
SPEAKER_02I'd be willing to do a taste test side by side because I'm like, is it different? Is it?
SPEAKER_09We'll do a blind. We'll do a blind. Oh, a blind taste test.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know if I would even be able to know.
SPEAKER_09Same ingredients for a tuna sandwich. Same ingredients.
SPEAKER_07Which one has dukes in it, which one has helmets? Here's the problem, because I know what's gonna happen here. We're both gonna have to do it, right? Or we're all gonna have to do it. Yeah. No messing with each other. You don't put freaking like some five the jelly bean or something that you know the the booger flavored jelly bean. No, I was gonna think. Or the world's hottest gummy bear. The hottest gummy bear. No, no, no. Or anything like that. It has to be a real thing.
SPEAKER_02No, straight evidence, like actual evidence, research.
SPEAKER_09And then we'll just create a you know, team Hellman's teams team Duke, and then you know, figure out which uh side of the aisle you're on.
SPEAKER_02But there are definitely people out in the world that are like, I will never eat helm's ever in my entire life.
SPEAKER_07What you can do is you can make a tuna fish sandwich, uh uh a deviled egg, you know, and some of the 30s.
SPEAKER_02Maybe just a regular sandwich, like a bologna sandwich and figure out a club sandwich.
SPEAKER_07That way you have multiple foods to taste this a mayonnaise, and then multiple foods to taste this one.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, because certain foods are gonna taste better with certain mayonnaise. Yeah, it's true. Mayonnaise or mayonnaise?
SPEAKER_07Mayonnaise. I still like dukes though the best.
SPEAKER_02I like dukes the best as well.
SPEAKER_09But what type of hot sauce do you put in uh your tuna sandwich?
SPEAKER_02So I'm gonna be real, whatever's available in my fridge. Texas, because there was a there was Texas Pete is gonna be off rip if I have that, but I ran out recently and I started putting in the Kinder's buffalo sauce. Oh, they they sell that just because I don't make enough things that require Texas Pete to where I'm like, I'm getting Texas Pete. It's like, oh, I want a tuna fish sandwich with hot sauce.
SPEAKER_07I pretty much my buffalo. I pretty much use that exclusively for my buffalo chicken dip. Yeah, which is that's a that's that's a necessity.
SPEAKER_09The Buffalo chicken dip at the Super Bowl party.
SPEAKER_07Oh man, yeah, you guys killed that thing with the stuff I made, right? Yeah, your stuff was awesome too. Yeah, the smoked uh queso queso? Damn, dude. It was gonna be WTF. I kept going back. The Super Bowl party at Ed's. You're never here.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, Lee was like, You mind taking it home? I was like, Yeah, don't mind at all. Took a big scoop of that buffalo chicken I made and left it at home. I was like, I'm getting some of this.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, they had a big spread though that that day. Massive. I mean, it was like a lot of food.
SPEAKER_02I just made my uh grandma's famous um pizza casserole recipe. Ooh. Pizza casserole.
SPEAKER_07I'm intrigued.
SPEAKER_02But I did it different than her. She used to do it in like a IREx. I did it in a cast iron skillet. Oh, just because it's just for me and a couple of the opposite, you know. No, no, no, because it's like a smaller portion, just it's like I'm cooking for two people. So ground beef, sausage, a bell pepper, my own addition, a jalapeno, some cooked bacon. Pepperoni in there?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I haven't heard pepperoni once.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, I'm going from like the bottom up. Okay. So all of this is like salivating. Put my pepperonis in there. Layering layering meat or well, just like cooking it as as it renders down, we add more stuff. Like the bacon was already cooked. That's already like crumbled up. Crumbled up, okay. So that's all stirred up, boom. Like, obviously, like jarlic is in there, like, you know, because I'm not gonna like cut up garlic, just I'm gonna use a spoonful. Stir it all up, get it going, get the meat done, get the sausage done all together. Now start layering the cheese. Then start laying or it's mozzarella and parmesan mixed. Oh, yes. All of it. Until you can't see any meat anymore. It's all just totally white on top. Then layer the pepperonis on and then in the oven.
SPEAKER_07325 for 30 minutes. Do you do the uh the chunks of mozzarella or do you do the the shredded?
SPEAKER_02I just was like trying to get it done quick because it was later at night and I wanted to like I was hungry.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. But if I was gonna do it go crazy, I would just like take a grater and just so it's just mostly like cheese and beef and meat, not not any like breading or anything like that.
SPEAKER_02And noodles. I I forgot that part. You'd like boil noodles and throw those in the whatever you want. Literally, the you could most uh when she did it, it was elbows. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Because I mean that would make you know, without that, it's just let's like it's like scooping everything off with pizza.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. I I forgot the very crucial ingredient of the elbow noodles. That was her recipe, was elbow noodles. But like you, like I said, you get all the meat done and everything's ready for you to put the cheese on, but you just put the noodles in real quick, stir that in, stir all the noodles, get it all incorporated, drop the cheese on there.
SPEAKER_09It reminds me of goulash. Have you guys ever heard of it? It's essentially that.
SPEAKER_02It's like it's like pizza goulash. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Oh, you know what else is good? The uh beef stroganoff. Damn, I will tear that up. I know, right? I'm sorry if we're making everybody hungry, but hey, we like talking about food sometimes on here.
SPEAKER_02I mean, everybody's got to eat.
SPEAKER_09Some people eat to live, we live to eat.
SPEAKER_07I mean speak for yourself.
SPEAKER_09You some just don't eat as much.
SPEAKER_06So the one guy over there I went and talked to was my old master gunnery sergeant. And then the tall guy was like, So, were you gone? Yeah. He said uh we were talking about getting on this podcast, and he was like, Is that the one you're talking about drinking and smoking stuff? I was like, Yes, it is. Come on over and get on.
SPEAKER_07Who is he? A pastor?
SPEAKER_06No, he's a who's I was gonna say you said it like it was like we were doing. No, no, no, no, no, no. So I was gonna be like, we can delete this. I want to talk to the guy, right? And uh the other guy with the tall hat was like, Oh, the podcast you're doing. Is that the one where you guys talk about what you're drinking and what you're smoking? Yeah. So why did he say never mind? You're confusing us.
SPEAKER_09Rusty made it sound judgmental. Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_02The verbiage is crazy. That's what I was thinking. The tone, the tonality was like, Oh, we don't do that on there.
SPEAKER_00Hey, is that the podcast where you guys smoke and drink?
SPEAKER_07It will be like you want to point it, you want to point it at the face. Well, I'm trying to let's go. Yeah, but if you loosen that thing, you can tighten it back up. Like if you lose, yeah, loosen that knob and then turn it the other way so that when you when you tighten it back up. It's still there.
SPEAKER_02It's still there. It's still there. Twist the knob. What? I think we got like a few.
SPEAKER_09So you want to point it at the face and twist the knob?
SPEAKER_02There's been like 16 uh yeah.
SPEAKER_07That was is this better? I'll fix it. It it won't I can't tip it.
SPEAKER_02I know, I'll fix it. I'll fix it.
SPEAKER_05Oh, this is what you do it. This is uh we do it.
SPEAKER_06Only you can stop forest fires. Hey, there's a little bit of smokey the bear in all of us.
SPEAKER_09We gotta do a uh some sort of it doesn't need to be a competition, but just like a a potluck and people just bring their shit, the things that they like.
SPEAKER_02I would bring pizza casserole, we definitely bring it up.
SPEAKER_09We can definitely have like one common thing that everybody should bring just to figure out like and then we figure out like the theme of it. Yeah, and then well not even that, but like if we bring a common dish and then everybody's you know, let's say it's unanimous and everybody says what's I like this one the best, figure out who it is, and then they give that recipe to everybody. And then uh that's how we can share recipes. But if you guys have anything that if you guys have any uh particular dishes that you feel like we should cook and try to figure out, drop it in the comments.
SPEAKER_02Let us know. Yeah, please know.
SPEAKER_09Uh this is why he puts on uh sock shoe, sock shoe, because he forgets halfway through something.
SPEAKER_07No, I'm trying to because we're getting echoey that if we're not like right up on it, we're echoing. And then when we all talk, it gets it you hear all the echoey. So I'm trying to get the the noise reduction. This just style now. Yeah, but it's we hear you better when it's pointed right out your mouth like that.
SPEAKER_02Back and forth type deal, or like I was sleeping on a fountain. You know what you know, pretty natural.
SPEAKER_07You know what kind of foods look like penises? Or shape like penises. The best kind of food.
SPEAKER_02How do you think that makes sense? Yo, the funny thing about my back, it's located on my cow. On my cow.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that's good. I should have. Oh man. All right. So did you guys move on without me? What were you talking about?
SPEAKER_09No, we're just still talking about it. We're still talking about food. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's right. You were talking about the competition. No, but also I was saying that we should also have food on here periodically to just speak on. Yeah, remember we had the chili, like we're trying, we're eating this chili.
SPEAKER_02I thought that was a good episode.
SPEAKER_07It was a good episode.
SPEAKER_02We did unanimously agree that it was like that was a good episode.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was it was awesome chili too. But man, I I I wonder what would be well, the steaks. Yeah. You could do a steak everybody.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, the hard part is that that's temperature control, so you gotta eat that while the grill must be like right here.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, we have to bring in gravity. Well, one day we'll grill, we'll we'll all get some, we'll get something and we'll just grill something out here and be like, all right, here's what we made. But I don't we're not just gonna be here werewolfing it down on the couch. It's gonna be something uh something universal meatloaf that you can pick at meatloaf recipe. Ah, yeah, meatloaf's good. I love meatloaf. A lot of people hate meatloaf.
SPEAKER_02You know what else is good? Chicken pot pie.
SPEAKER_09Oh man, that was my favorite thing to get out of the grocery stores, like the individual chicken pot pies. Yes, indeed. Oh, yes, I can always eat those, man. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Oh, and the crust is so good.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, and then you get like the little soft, a little bit soggy bottom on the bottom end.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but then it's like still the crust piece. The top crust piece is still crispy, but the bottom is. Yeah. But then the the chicken is like a thousand degrees in front of your tongue and the roof of your mouth just blisters everywhere.
SPEAKER_02There you know, I've seen this meme, it was like, you know, the food is good when you put it in your mouth, and you have to go hof, hoff, hoff, hoff, hoff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07No, yeah, that that is very good.
SPEAKER_06Um I spit it out when it's too hot.
SPEAKER_07But back to the back to the meatloaf. I've done that every time. Cody sent me a really good recipe from I think it's called Meat Church for barbecue meatloaf. And you make you make you basically make two at a time. Yeah, buddy. So you make two, you know, it's enough to make two loaves.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07The son of freedom. It is beautiful. So you make two loaves, right? And and so I used mustard on one as a binder and and spicy mustard on the other as a binder. No difference at all in flavor. None whatsoever. Uh yeah, but I was just trying it just to just to see if that had any any difference. But whatever the meat church recipe was for uh barbecue meatloaf, I didn't think it was gonna be good because I like the ketchup meatloaf or whatever.
SPEAKER_02That's what I grew up on.
SPEAKER_07It's so good. Meatchurch.
SPEAKER_02I mean, it's no ketchup at all, ever?
SPEAKER_07No, it's just barbecue space. It's barbecue meatloaf.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I could take that, though.
SPEAKER_07Yes, it's very good. So try it out. I think it's it's smoked. Yeah, it's smoked.
SPEAKER_09It's smoked. Meat church recipes hip. That's where I got the smoked queso.
SPEAKER_02That was a recipe from that. Then it's the same as code. I need to get hip because I don't need I've never even got a lot of things. That's the same as code as I think.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the guy has a great YouTube page where he's you know, all his recipes and stuff, and everything is for the layman. You can break it out. Oh, it's like broke down, like here, this is what you do this, and then you do that.
SPEAKER_07He gets yeah, he gets all his recipes from there, and then when he will make something good, I'll be like, ah, give me that recipe. And he just meet church and sends it to me. I'm like, I guess I'll just can go on. I love that sound. Yeah, it's a good sound, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02Well, that's kind of the thing about recipes, is uh with cooking, it's like you can kind of manipulate it in your own way, but if you're trying to bake something, you need to follow it to a T.
SPEAKER_07Man alive. You have to everybody's oven is a different temperature, your house might be a different temperature. I'll tell you when that really made a difference is sourdough. Like you don't get the rise, right? You don't get the second rise or whatever. I I was failing with the.
SPEAKER_02Well, your oven gets faster, hotter, faster than mine.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09And then you know you got the cast iron and yeah, humidity issues here in in North Carolina totally mess up your uh sourdough.
SPEAKER_07Props to uh props to the freaking bakers, because that my Nina a lot of stuff they gotta do.
SPEAKER_09George, you want to come on?
SPEAKER_07He's coming on episode 50. Uh we gotta be creeping up on that soon. The boss just came in, so we gotta what are we like 20? The boss came in, so we gotta be quiet, huh?
SPEAKER_0220. We're on like I was joking. What?
SPEAKER_07Where are we on? We're on 27. Or this is 28. This is number 28. 27 was last week, yesterday.
SPEAKER_02So we're half a year, we're six months in, we didn't even celebrate. Dang. Oh my goodness. Cheers, six months.
SPEAKER_07Here's the six months of the city.
SPEAKER_02I'm not even gonna like say anything weird, but I thought about that in the shower today.
SPEAKER_09We almost made it the entire six months without.
SPEAKER_02That's kind of weird. No, I did because I was like, dang. Because you know, uh old buddy was like, yeah, it's episode 23, and I was like, means that uh that was four weeks ago.
SPEAKER_07Well, like we keep saying, they s uh, you know, I was reading about it, and then they say the if you make it past ten, what's up? Go on. If you make it past ten episodes, then you then you'll probably keep doing it. What's up?
SPEAKER_02What is it? When we were reading the plaque, it said the episode number. So in my head, I was like, oh my god, we've already passed 25. So that's like what 50. That said 23 on it, though. I know. That was three weeks done. Yeah, so we have crested 52. Yeah, but when he had said it, I was like, oh, we we are at least at the half year mark.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but what my point was they say that if you make it past 10 episodes and we're at 28 now.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, the light bulb went off before you started saying that.
SPEAKER_07Oh okay. I was like, what in the head?
SPEAKER_02I was like, yeah, we're I'm I was talking about something else.
SPEAKER_07Okay. I was like, my bad. Losing a man TK is losing it.
SPEAKER_02If you know this episode, I'm OFP a little bit. What's called acronyms. Oh yeah. Come on, I drop one and no one knows what it is. I know what it is. My only program.
SPEAKER_07Uh it's its own. Uh not only. Oh, well. It's your own it's your own program. Well, talk about only if you want to subscribe to only dads.com. Oh, yeah, yeah. Rusty, you have an OnlyFans, don't you?
SPEAKER_06No, mine's OnlyVillains.
SPEAKER_07Only don't you show your beard on there and that's like that's it.
SPEAKER_06I tried the feet thing. Is there even a market for that? Yes.
SPEAKER_07Beard feet?
SPEAKER_09Could you sell the beard? This is one of the things that's crazy. It's like the question. Oh, with beards? Go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07How'd you make your millions showing my feet online?
SPEAKER_06Well, I use my beard yeast to make beer.
SPEAKER_09Back in my day, they used to call it, he was gonna say something real. Oh, yeah, I don't know, it's kind of real. Theoretical. We don't know everything. But it's crazy when you see people that are into the weird stuff, things like feet and furries and things like that. It's uh this notion.
SPEAKER_07I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. Um I've heard it all. Right. Um the uh the notion is that, um, or the belief that is that you your wires just kind of got across on something that's supposed to be disgusting and it turned into be fetish.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like or like it started releasing dopamine instead.
SPEAKER_09It's just something that like typically would be considered disgusting in your brain. But it's just like a complete like 180. Now it's the most desirable thing.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_09But what were you saying?
SPEAKER_07Well, I've heard uh uh the podcast we listen to, Time Suck, uh does episodes on serial killers and things like that. And there's this guy, I'm pretty sure it's called his name is Albert Fish, and he liked poo-poo, and like he got off on that, and it was like that's one thing I don't even know. And so the joke that Dan's like, peanut butt. Give me some of that peanut butter 'cause it was like from back in the day or whatever. Disgusting. But yeah, and that's that's what you think. Like there's some something that is wrong in your bra, like completely wrong in your brain, like the complete opposite.
SPEAKER_09It's not subtly wrong, it is like completely flipped on the other piece. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07So what causes that, Doc?
SPEAKER_02That's just it's genetic, isn't it?
SPEAKER_08I would say like I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_02Not genetic on like a like a top-down type thing, just like on a wiring genetic. It's just something they call it. It's a DNA thing. It's a DNA.
SPEAKER_09Everything is DNA. It's all developmental.
SPEAKER_06Hey, Doc. Let me ask you this. Is what is a cerebral fecal syndrome? Cerebral fecal syndrome. Well, you just diagnosed it.
SPEAKER_07Sounds like shit brain.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. Shit. If you're a shithead? Well, you guys shitheads.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. We had a lot of shit brains. Yeah. Sometimes I was a shitbagging. Shipper brains.
SPEAKER_06Shit brains and then they're shit bags. Sometimes it was me. And then sometimes you shut your brains out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07That's true. It always comes back. I heard enough of the shit. I mean. Yeah, I'm telling you, dude, it would be hilarious if our whole show, every cuss word, just a just a second, just a millisecond late on the just a little bit late on the on the sensor button, that would be hilarious. Just like the guy you hire to do it is like always just a little bit behind. So it's like fuck. It's right after it. That'd be funny.
SPEAKER_02Well, it'll be for more funny for the people that are like not watching, just listening.
SPEAKER_07Speaking of which, yeah, that's right. If you and if you're just listening, thank you for listening. If you're just watching, thank you for watching.
SPEAKER_02If you're doing it, we're still good looking. We're still looking that's how I am fresh.
SPEAKER_07But there are going to be things that we try out in the future for for humor. So don't turn the channel. If what can I say? Don't let the cat out the back. I because you didn't tell me.
SPEAKER_02We forgot you forgot to tell me yesterday, so I don't even know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_09No, we'll tell you.
SPEAKER_07Oh, so I thought we did tell him. No, we told Jared. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But if you didn't take off so quick, we'll tell you this time. We will. But it's not, it's like we want to start just like our goofy buttons. We want to start doing things, and we want people to understand that this is fun, that's meant meant to be a relaxed, laid-back, you know, it's a cigar shop, so there's going to be shenanigans. It's not, even when we talk about serious topics, we're not saying we're we're the expert in this, even though at times you are talking to like an expert in something. It's not my expert opinion, it's just my goofy, jokey opinion sometimes. It's just my opinion as an expert. We kind of have to give that disclaimer too, because like we are not giving medical advice. We are not giving this advice. We're not giving this this show is entertainment purposes only. I think maybe that would be should be what you put at the beginning, even though we hopefully talk about some cool subjects and sometimes freaking crazy, stupid subjects. But we're sitting around a cigar shop, so that's what happens. And that's the that's the kind of feel that you get.
SPEAKER_02I think that people know by hearing my voice now after 25 weeks, they know that I'm pretty chilling. And they're like, maybe he knows, but he probably doesn't know though, a lot.
SPEAKER_07But man, six months, that's pretty cool. And I haven't started my other one yet. You've started your other one, one or two. You have one going or two going? Just the lockdown.
SPEAKER_02Okay, well, it is two now, actually. As of today, it is two. But uh, I think when this comes out, there will be another episode.
SPEAKER_07You want to handle the I can't do that. Yeah, so the lockdown is the one.
SPEAKER_02The lockdown is the football show. Yeah, which they are I can't even speak on it because there's in the future, but they're gonna be playing very big games today. They're gonna be doing some good stuff. Nice, hopefully winning.
SPEAKER_06So the lockdown, do you guys cover all collegiate sports? High school, collegiate, professional, or just high school and collegiate?
SPEAKER_02So I'm glad you asked me that. We're trying to cover the seven-on-seven team right now, which at this point when it comes out, it'll be they'll be in the playoffs. But we want to cover Havlock sports, but there's a lot of stuff that we have to do. There's a lot of footwork with that. We don't have a lot of footage with stuff. With the seven-on-seven stuff, we do have footage and we can see videos.
SPEAKER_06Are we talking about seven-on-seven football?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's like it's off so it's off season.
SPEAKER_06Hey, I'm gonna let Chris get on here. I'm gonna go uh take care of some business.
SPEAKER_07Uh okay. That's cool. I was trying to mute my mic because George was on the phone, so I was like, mute, mute. But that's okay. What were you guys on? What were you talking about?
SPEAKER_04Lockdown. Lockdown.
SPEAKER_07Oh, I gotcha. I did see. I was trying to mute my microphone.
SPEAKER_02We could move on from that though.
SPEAKER_07No, he was being. So yeah, check out the the the lockdown. And and and you are using what program for that?
SPEAKER_02StreamYard. Love you, George.
SPEAKER_07See you, George. Love everybody.
SPEAKER_02Love you, my friend.
unknownSee ya.
SPEAKER_07We are using what program? You're using Streamline? StreamYard, StreamYard. StreamYard, StreamYard. So for my second podcast, which is not started yet, we've done some some test episodes, Gina and I. It's gonna be, we were gonna call it Mind Your Business, a leadership development podcast.
SPEAKER_02Are you guys overthinking it or?
SPEAKER_07Well, we've kind of landed on a different one called Leading Between the Lines or something along that line. So anyway, it's to talk about leadership, and we'll have I think that's when you can have Roger on there. We'll have anybody, anybody that's in any leadership capacity.
SPEAKER_02But you could like log on on your laptop and like join.
SPEAKER_07And so I use Riverside. It's not like you have to pull up and yeah, you just you can even be on your phone. You can log in.
SPEAKER_09But um the question isn't me being on there, it's whether or not my opinions are valid.
SPEAKER_07Well, we already know they're not. I'm just saying, like we'll be able to do it. It's really a no-pressure situation. But that audience doesn't know yet. We haven't been able to do that.
SPEAKER_02Once you know that, then you can speak freely. It doesn't matter anymore.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Come on.
SPEAKER_07So that's my second one. And you know what I've been doing, man? I'm using Chat GBT for my setup, my room setup. I'm like, okay, what's our deal? I already pulled my desk forward from the wall so that my camera, so this camera can get you know the depth and so that it blurs out the background a little bit better. This lighting system works freaking awesome in my office.
SPEAKER_02And but like, I'm like because you showed me the preview, and I was like, all right.
SPEAKER_07It looked good, you're good.
SPEAKER_02You don't need to, I don't know why you're moving stuff around. It looks good.
SPEAKER_07It can look better though.
SPEAKER_02But but it but you sound like my co-host on the lockdown show, and he's like, dude, stop trying to change shit, bro. Like, he's like, You're in you're weird. He was like, he was like, This was already fire, dude. And I was like, it could be better. And he's like, you he's like, that's why I love you, bro.
SPEAKER_09Don't do that.
SPEAKER_07That's why I love you. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good, and don't get analysis paralysis. And that's what we got on the other show, and that's why we haven't done it yet. Well, also, it's been the timing.
SPEAKER_02Well, we'll get done, and like we'll hit like like how you when we get done with this, you hit in recording. I was like, yo, sorry, bro. He's like, What are you fucking saying sorry for? I was like, it could have been a little bit better. And he's like, dude, shut up. Yeah, yeah. He's like, dude, shut up.
SPEAKER_09Well, having a gratitude, yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_07Exactly.
SPEAKER_02On a very low level, me too. Very low level. I fell off my uh working out. Gratitude towards self is like zero. Like zero, bro. Zero. Why, man?
SPEAKER_07You're about to be freaking married, you're about to be in the best.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you talk about that aspect of my life.
SPEAKER_07I'm I'm what aspect are you talking about that you're not grateful for?
SPEAKER_02Uh, performance and like uh engineer and all that.
SPEAKER_07You think you'd have this job if you weren't performing well? Your job, your actual real job.
SPEAKER_02I think that me being that way got me the job. He's an 0621.
SPEAKER_07So then what's the problem? Like you're clearly good at what you do.
SPEAKER_02No, nothing. So just stay the course.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And keep being hypercritical.
SPEAKER_07Oh well, yeah, I guess. But I'm the same way, you know. You guys, well, you'll talk about the show, and what's the first thing? I will say this though. That's the first thing I did about St. Patty's Day. I'm like, well, the sound was too loud, and this, that.
SPEAKER_02And everybody's like, no, dude, it was great. And I'm like, yeah, but if you look at so like the terminology to a fault is subjective because it's like you could be like, you're you're hypercritical to a fault. And it's like, no, I'm just hypercritical because I want to just get better.
SPEAKER_08You can always be better and still be grateful for what you got.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What how do I end the show? Huh? How do I end the show? Thanks for having me. Yeah. It's still in my mind. I'm still thankful for it. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_09You don't need to apologize for a performance where it's like.
SPEAKER_02Is that an apology?
SPEAKER_07I'm sorry. You see, you said you see. You literally said the words, I'm sorry, sorry. That could have been better.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's internal though. But that's like, I'm not like saying that to Danny. Like, sorry, bro, it could have been better.
SPEAKER_07It's like, yeah, it could have been. I thought you said it to Danny, and he was like, bro, shut up, dude. It's great.
SPEAKER_02I was like, listen, I'm about to tighten it up. I'm like, hey, I'm not trying to ruin anything, dog. Yeah. You need to stop saying that, but shut up, just get there. I'm not apologizing. It's the only sorry word is inside of my head. That's the only person I'm saying sorry to because it's like, dang.
SPEAKER_09That's the only one that's got that New Year's resolution.
SPEAKER_07That's well, I've my working out was going really, really well until my back and my damn wrist are now screwed up.
SPEAKER_09Oh.
SPEAKER_07Well, plus I didn't have a penny sitter for about a week.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_09I was waiting for another excuse. I know.
SPEAKER_07I have a couple more. No, it's it's usually just the penny sitter. Justification. Because I also I have a gym in my garage, but I can't go out there listening to her inside whining and howling because I'm out there. That would break my heart.
SPEAKER_09Are you on another stick now?
SPEAKER_07Maybe.
SPEAKER_09I'm smoking McCallan or Blade Chris real quick.
SPEAKER_02Chris is on the show.
SPEAKER_07Hold on, he's smoking something new. I'm a McCall McAuliffe Black. I don't know why you hold that up. He never he never zooms in on it. Whatever. AI doesn't zoom in. I know, I know. Even the shorts, the shorts will show like a brick wall sometimes instead of like who's talking. And I'm like, Deg Navit. Go ahead. Sorry.
SPEAKER_09McAuliffe's got a great lineup. They're all budget friendly. I want to say like sub ten dollars or ten dollars or less. Nice. Um great sticks. The black is a good medium full. Um yeah, just a very solid cigar, very consistent. And this is the consistency is one of the big things about having a product that makes it extremely difficult uh if you're not uh consistent. If they don't burn right, if they're hard a hard pull sometimes they're I mean you think about like either any of the major businesses, you walk into a McDonald's, you know exactly where the fries are. Where the fry station is, it's in the exact same spot in every restaurant, and it's about being consistent. Because that's that's the thing that gets people to come back because they know what to expect. If you have consistencies, you could be bad and inconsistent, and some people might say that McDonald's is bad. Well, they're they're not effective.
SPEAKER_02Their ice cream machines are bad. They're not effective.
SPEAKER_09That is true, and for that reason, that's why it's a gripe, right? Because you're like, no, no, I came in expecting this, but why why do you not have it? And so that pisses you off. We like we like uh um predictability, yeah.
SPEAKER_07We don't like change. Yeah. Who moved my cheese? We don't like that. All right, Mike Ford, we got a new guest. Who do we got here?
SPEAKER_01Hey, uh, Chris Rubasy again. Just uh finished up a couple uh cold plunges for Rebeur Warriors. Yeah. Well, it's gonna do you 22 minutes. This sounds terrible. I don't know. It's uh talk right into it. Okay. Is there a delay?
SPEAKER_07No, but go ahead, keep talking. All right, we'll see if this keep talking.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah, so uh we ended up doing uh two 30 minute cold plunges. So 30 minutes. Yeah, it was pretty good. All for Reverend Warriors.
SPEAKER_07Yep. Dang. So so how many people did it?
SPEAKER_01That was just two of us.
SPEAKER_07Did you do like is it one tank per or is it one?
SPEAKER_01No, one tank per.
SPEAKER_07Oh, gotcha. Yeah, no spoon and it's it's ice or is it just chilled water?
SPEAKER_01No, it was uh about 58, 58 degrees or so, maybe 60. Not not terrible. Yeah, yeah. So an awesome weekend.
SPEAKER_07Sounds terrible. Yeah, I would not want to do that again. But I've been there, I've been there, I've done the the polar plunge in Norway and it was Oh, yeah, it was fun for a little tiny bit. Yeah, you told me about it. Until you hit the water. It's just the closer to your mouth it is, the easier it's gonna, the better it's gonna start. I gotcha, I gotcha. Yeah. And you could, I mean, it comes out of that clip if you want to just hold on to it, uh, if that arm is giving you a bother. Yeah, we'll get it figured out. Yeah, we'll figure it out.
SPEAKER_09I I did hear a quote the other day that reminded me of the uh, you know, you guys doing the Norway uh plunge. It says the the hard stuff for hard things, the pain, the discomfort is temporary, but then the pride kind of lasts sort of forever. Yeah. For the easy stuff, the pleasure is usually very temporary, and then the regret is everlasting. Yeah. So do hard things.
SPEAKER_07Do hard things. Get hard. Here, here. No, you're right, man. I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's been hard since I've been here.
SPEAKER_07No, but that's I mean, that's absolutely true, man. That if you look back at all the hard challenges you had in your life, even sometimes in a negative way, you know, like, oh, you know, why why is that has always happened to me? Why do I always have to be the one to but then your persistence to get through that kind of made you stronger? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And then when you look back on it, it's like, yeah, I went through these, you know, when I was a kid, my parents got divorced, and I was, oh, woe is me, and all this. Everything about my childhood made me who I am now. Yeah. Had it been easy and handed to me, had you know, I was just given everything and just told, here, you're special, my sweet little baby angel, then I wouldn't work for anything, I wouldn't try anything. You know, a certain would have never joined the Marine Corps. Yeah. So, you know, there's something, there's something about that, uh, the difficult times creating uh hard men, hard men creating easy times, easy times creating soft men, soft men creating hard times. I'm like in the mind state of something like that.
SPEAKER_02Like hard, hard, uh, hardship is uh subjective.
SPEAKER_09Hardship is a privilege. If you if you think about, you know, in terms of character building, people that build character are ha go through hard times. There's never a person where you're like, oh yeah, they got everything and they're a role model. Uh like in terms of they were handed everything and they're they are a role model. Hardship is a privilege because that allows that is the uh the the vessel in which greatness comes out of. And so you need the hard times in order to grow and to become somebody. And so that is what's going to elevate you in society or in humanity or whatever it is, and that's a privilege. And I think that um it's stoicism.
SPEAKER_07Oh the book, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, like one of my uh things that I think about sometimes is uh like take the guy that is a billionaire, right? Like not just Bezos, but not even to insert a name, just a guy that's a billionaire, right? My family hates me. I I've worked so much that like I don't have a connection with my kids. My my I'm removed from my kids and blah blah blah blah blah. That that feeling of like sadness and uh depression, blah blah blah. Hey, I can't afford to feed my kids today because I'm I'm I'm I'm destitute. Like I don't have a good job. I can't I can't keep a job. Do do those two feelings of sorrow and sadness, to me, they're both equal.
SPEAKER_07It doesn't matter whether you're in a Ferrari or I think one of them has a lot more control than the other does, though.
SPEAKER_02But they're just both sad the same. Oh, absolutely, yeah.
SPEAKER_07But but one created their own sadness, is what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02I'm not even talking about the journey towards it. I'm just saying the the level of sadness is the same. It's like you can't tell me where somebody feels bad, whereas somebody else doesn't feel bad. It's hard to. It's like whether you created it or not, whether you farmed it or not, it's like sadness is equal across the board. Where some when someone says, I'm sad, yeah, yeah. That's not subjective. If you do feel sad, that is just you're sad.
SPEAKER_09One of the best things to think about is if you have two people going through the most difficult times in their lives, um, you give them an opportunity to switch shoes, they're not gonna take it. They are absolutely not gonna take it because they don't know how they would deal with that. So we're kind of saying the same thing, right? It's all it's equal, it's all equal. It's like it's all it both sucks.
SPEAKER_02It both sucks.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. Yeah, you can't play that that game where it's like, oh, that's harder than you know, X, Y, and Z. You're just it's all like it's all relative and it's all subjective.
SPEAKER_02Relative, yeah. That's you could be rich, I could be poor, we're still str we still have sad feelings all the same, and those still rise up to the top like we're just sad and today.
SPEAKER_07Well, yeah, because money doesn't money doesn't heal those wounds, you know, that that sad and everyone's like, I'd rather be crying in a Ferrari than a bento.
SPEAKER_02It's like dude, if I guess you feel the same. But for those for those 10 minutes, you feel like shit though. You you're still sad though.
SPEAKER_07You're you're sad. Because if you're sad in that situation, now give up all the love that you have for your family because you wouldn't have that in that situation, and then you're still sad, right? Yeah, I get that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's what I feel like. It's like, hey, uh, as far as feelings go, the it's subjective, but it's not because it it it relocates itself to a certain level of I'm sad.
SPEAKER_09And I think the under underlying thing is that you gotta be you have to validate that. You can't sit there and say, I have no reason to be sad. You look at you're like, oh, well, at least I'm not the one that's uh you know struggling to put food on the table. At least it's not that bad. But um, you know, you still have to give it away.
SPEAKER_02Right, that not even be the basis.
SPEAKER_09That's not even the basis of it. Yeah, you still have to say, like, oh but you know what? Whatever it is that it is that whatever difficult situation it is that I'm going through, if I feel sad about it, there's a reason why, and you gotta figure out the why. Right. Once you figure out the why, you figure out is this something within my control or not. And if it is something that you can control, how do I fix that? How can I do that methodically? And how can how can I be consistent to it and commit to it? And that's what a new New Year's resolution is. You see the problem, you think that this is the solution, and you're like, I just need to do this, and then you commit to it, and lo and behold, you've all of a sudden changed.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think that's where we get into the the bridge of easier said than done, quote unquote, because it's like the guy that's like, dang, I just want my dad to like think I'm cool or like me, yeah, rather than like I just want to put kids uh uh food on the table for my kids. Like those are two different wants, but same sadness equalized. Like you can't you can't quantify that. Yeah, it's same sadness, it's it's the same sadness, but it's you know what I mean. And you can't quantify like what it weighs to one person, is what I'm saying. I'm not trying to be like crazy. I get I get exactly what you're saying.
SPEAKER_09Not only is it like not the same sadness, but it's also uh an unrealistic expectation that if you get this one thing, you will all all of a sudden be happy. It's it's an ever-growing thing, and so sure, you know, it's you're putting value in the city.
SPEAKER_02And for the viewers, it's like my dad loves me, I love my dad.
SPEAKER_09It's not that like specifically, that was comment was for your dad, like dad. I I know.
SPEAKER_07Do better, dad.
SPEAKER_02Do better. But it's just like just a happenstance saying, it's like for what people get sad about in their lives, it's like you might be sad about like, dang, I can't believe that Waffle House is not open right now. Yeah, and then somebody else was like, dang, I'm gonna be able to do that. I can't believe you can afford Waffle House.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Right. Speaking of Waffle House.
SPEAKER_09Everybody's got yeah, I feel like we have the best Waffle House in the area.
SPEAKER_07I heard that they just yell the orders out and stuff, and that's like super annoying.
SPEAKER_02I just wanted to get a bit a little bit dirtier and then I'll go. It's not it's not down to bar. And that is a salute to Waffle House, by the way.
SPEAKER_07I need to be down to fight. Yes.
SPEAKER_02If y'all don't smoke newports, I'm not coming.
SPEAKER_09This Waffle House, actually, you know, when we walk in, we're like it seems nice. It's actually more like a Denny's. I'm so disappointed. Damn.
SPEAKER_07Wow. Who were you insulting more just then? Denny's airwaffa.
SPEAKER_02Whose sadness weighs more?
SPEAKER_07Great man. Now we gotta get on that McDonald's CEO freaking bandwagon where where he was eating the the burger like like like an alien or something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. They said like a tear went down his face when he was eating it.
SPEAKER_07Like oh, he's done other videos since then, and there have been other CEOs.
SPEAKER_02He's just trying to get his face back. He's like, yo, I messed the first one up.
SPEAKER_07But there's all these other CEOs that are doing it, and they're all roasting each other and all this crap.
SPEAKER_02That's they did the Costco dog, the $150 Costco challenge. Yeah, a hot dog in a soda for $150. He's like, we're never changing the price.
SPEAKER_08I forget what he he said, I'm a glizzy something. You can't do that, bro. I watched it on mute.
SPEAKER_02I watched it on mute. Uh you can't be throwing the glizsies out there, bro. That's too soon. Like, they're not that cool, bro. That's so stupid.
SPEAKER_08But he does it raw. That's so stupid. He raw dogs. Raw dogs.
SPEAKER_07It's stupid.
SPEAKER_08Raw dog's glizzies.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god. That's just we we we have reached a new level, man, when our kids are just making up their own little stupid language.
SPEAKER_08We all made it's all it's generational. You made up random words.
SPEAKER_07I know that. I know that. But we're the generation that's supposed to hate what they come up with. I'm playing my part here.
SPEAKER_09And we're supposed to be the old one that's solidifying our oldness now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You know, it's like uh when we said and did the stupid crap we did. Pull your pants up, freaking tight, you know, put your hat on the straight way and turn on you know, it's it's all that kind of crap. It's just our turn now. You guys don't know you're a little young when you're when your kids are my kids' ages.
SPEAKER_09Well, it's you were we were the ones you were yelling at. Yeah, exactly. Getting away. They're like, dude, you guys are skateboarding. Yeah. The shirts, skateboarding is not a crime.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shorties. Yeah, shortties. Oh, but that just goes to show you we have all different ages here. Because even older people are here, like Rusty. Sorry, Rusty. Because he's the next next one. But we're not like different generations, it's just different. I know. Well, I don't know. I know Chris is next.
SPEAKER_02I don't remember if it was Roger or you off of camera right before we started. I was like, hey, I was smoking cigarettes at golf course, and you're in it was Roger. He was like, that's not cool anymore. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's not cool anymore.
SPEAKER_02There's literally been a time when uh, I think like three or four years ago, I took Nicole to Charlotte for her birthday. And we went to and we met my uh he's gonna be at my wedding, his younger brother in Charlotte. He was at UNCC. He was like, I'll take you guys somewhere. And we're like, all right, well, we kind of know what that means. Like, we're gonna go to a college spot. Oh, yeah. I mean, meanwhile, we're like 29, 30 years at the end. These kids are like young now. So I'm standing like fast forward, long story short, I'm standing in line to go to the bathroom, and I'm like, there's people there, everyone's talking, and I was like, damn, I'm trying to smoke a cigarette. And somebody looked me dead in the windows of my soul. They looked me right in my eyes and they looked at me and they said, Man, I just don't think that's a thing anymore. That's right. And I was like, wow.
SPEAKER_07That's right. It's not a thing anymore.
SPEAKER_02That made me feel like I was like, whoa, dude.
SPEAKER_07Like, just for even trying to that's a good, a good thing that went away, I think.
SPEAKER_02Agreed. I can agree.
SPEAKER_07I'm not trying, I'm not judging you. And then I'm not judging anybody. I used to smoke, I smoked for years and years and years, and I still smoke cigars.
SPEAKER_02It it is cool, but it made me feel like dang. Yeah, I'm over here trying to ask you for a cigarette, and you're like, I just don't even think that's a thing. Like, that doesn't even exist in your world at all.
SPEAKER_07No, they don't even they didn't even think to try it. Whereas when when we were kids growing up, someone tried it at least. It was just more widely accepted back then.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but even your peer group that doesn't smoke to this day, like, all right, I'm gonna speak for me and Roger because we're we're closer. We were in high school at the same time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Most most of our peer, most of our peers were like, I'll I'll hit a cigarette. Like, they'll try a cigarette. Like, there was people there that were smoking, and they're like, All right, we'll try a cigarette. But I would be willing to bet that there's people in class of 20 yeah, 22 that have never puffed a cigarette in their life. Which I mean, and that's not even like a delta.
SPEAKER_07That's a that's a salute. You've never had a cigarette in your whole life. Well, good, good for you.
SPEAKER_02I'm not saying that there's other people that have it though.
unknownMy parents were chained smoking, so they're always in the house.
SPEAKER_07See, now that's that's why I would sneak it and take off. Me and my friends would sneak it, and then we were doing something. So that's the first way I smoked.
SPEAKER_02I smoked my mom I stole my mom's cigarettes.
SPEAKER_07And then you you tried to find light them on the stove.
SPEAKER_09You try to find the ones that aligned with you because you you know you tried your first cigarette and it was like, I don't know, just a regular cigarette. It was the skateboarders, bro. Yeah, it was a regular cigarette, and then you're like, I don't like it. And then you found the people that went over to like Newport menthols, and they're like, We smoke these all the time.
SPEAKER_02And then like I was a marble lights guy.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. And then Camel came out with the camel crushes. You remember those? Yes. You would squeeze it. They're still active. Yeah, you s you squeeze the filter and then it releases.
SPEAKER_02My mom smoked Newport shorts, so it's like you smoked menthals straight up.
SPEAKER_07Yuck.
SPEAKER_02So people are like, I'll bring out a pack of menthols, and I'll bring dude. I smoke Newports on the golf course today. Well, you should sing. Are you serious?
SPEAKER_07It's a big fat cigar.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's been a cigar guy.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Did you ever did you ever try cigarettes?
SPEAKER_01The only time I did cigarettes is when I was in Korea, and that was just uh safe face with the Koreans, you know. And the cigarette packs over there are crazy because they show all the effects of mouth cancer and everything on, so you get all the stores like that. Yeah, they're they're horrific. Yeah, they're crazy over there. Yeah, but that was the only time. No, all cigars. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07No pipes. Anybody smoke a pipe?
SPEAKER_01I did a pipe for a while. I kind of miss it.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_07I've had it on the show here and there. Yeah, I can clean mine. Um, I have it in my bag on my my kit, but that's one of those that's one of those things where you, you know, if I've got 30 minutes, that's what I'm gonna be able to smoke. If I go in and get a cigar, that'll, you know, it's you need to make it. It's a time commitment. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You can grab a shorty here.
SPEAKER_07You can grab a shorty, but I mean typically you can also put uh an as much tobacco as you want to smoke in your in your pipe. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. I always get a little overzealous. Smoking a pancake, cigar and a waffle. Bong in a blitz.
SPEAKER_09But more kids probably have tried uh weed nowadays more so than a cigarette. Or a vape. Or a vape. Or a vape, yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is wild.
SPEAKER_02I don't have children, but I would almost rather my kid be like, I'm sorry, I stole one of your marble. This is all hypothetical. Yeah, because my kids, I know. I'd rather my child come up to me and be like, I'm sorry, dad, I stole one of your Marlboro Reds, and be like, I'm sorry, Dad, that somebody gave me some watermelon ice. I'll be like, dude, really, bro.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And then he makes you like smoke the whole pack, and then you're like, hell yeah, now I really like it.
SPEAKER_02Now, and now in 20 freaking 26, it's like, you're gonna take all 26,000 puffs of that vape now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Like, it's like you just essentially Yeah, it's a different technology we gotta figure out how to health crisis now. No, back then it would smoke a whole package. I don't think we should convert at all. You're gonna sit here and smoke that whole vape until the juice is out. And then three months later, like kids just dying on the couch.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you wouldn't make a see that's the thing. You could smoke 20 cigarettes in a row, probably, and have very way less effects than smoking 20,000 puffs of a vape. I guarantee it. Yeah, I guarantee it. I'm I'm not saying that it I'm lucky. You see, I'm not virtue signaling for cigarettes. It sounds like that, but I'm just saying it's like just grow up and smoke a cigarette.
SPEAKER_01Well, the people in the hotel room next to me up in Atlantic Beach must have smoked a carton because they were coughing for about 20 minutes or up to the city. No, they weren't smoking cigarettes. Yeah, they were no, they were doing something. I was getting ready to call the ambulance because they sound like they were getting ready to call it. Sounds like a crisis in here. It was rough.
SPEAKER_07We were just talking about how at 34 North you can smell, or it's not just 34 north, it happens everywhere, but like somebody'll just spark up there because Enrique again. But somebody'll just spark it immediately, dude. Are you thinking you're being discreet right now?
SPEAKER_02I think they know they're not. That's cool.
SPEAKER_07I think it's more of a like, what what are you gonna say? What are you gonna do? You know.
SPEAKER_02I think that will that will subside though, because it's like, hey, alright, this is a great thing to end on. This is here we go, I'm gonna say something. What is the difference between me going to a place that's gonna serve me a Delta 9 drink and let me drink three of them, then me properly exiting their establishment and standing out where I can smoke a cigarette? No, no, no, not you. I'm just saying where I can exit outside of the establishment and smoke cigarettes and do the same exact thing and smoke, and then people start looking at me like I'm an alien. When you're doing the same thing inside via liquid, that you that I don't understand that part.
SPEAKER_09It's because the understanding that uh you're doing that to yourself versus if you're smoking, it's like a uh disregard for the public.
SPEAKER_11I don't I'm I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_09I'm not subscribing to that. It is the notion of like they know that you're smoking, they can visually see that you're smoking. That versus a cop out to me.
SPEAKER_02I'm not subscribing to it. No, I think that's self-justification to me.
SPEAKER_07Because it some that's a very strong aroma, and some people just can't stand it. So if you're doing it out in PubMed for that, I would say you gotta go find a place, turn on a fan in a bathroom or something. Like find a place.
SPEAKER_10I know, I know.
SPEAKER_09It's the person that says, hey, you guys should be putting miracle whip on all of your sandwiches versus the person that just eats a miracle whip sandwich on their own.
SPEAKER_10Right.
SPEAKER_09Like it's uh the idea that it's you're you don't want to in uh affect other people. Sure. And so it's like if you want to do that within your own podcast.
SPEAKER_02What is the difference then? What is the difference? Uh we don't have you even have to go down that route.
SPEAKER_07It's not even a health thing. Well, what what do you think is better for you uh in any situation? Like is we're nothing neither? Right, neither, right, neither, right, neither. But but what's if you had to pick one? It's this is like would you rather alcohol or weed?
SPEAKER_02What Roger was saying about the lady that was like every single puff that came over there, which what if it was like a blunt and it was just weed smoke going in her face? Would would she be acting this?
SPEAKER_07I'm not comparing that to cigars. It has to be. It has to be because it's the same reaction. I know what you're saying. I know what you're saying. What I'm saying is, do you think weed is better than for than alcohol, or alcohol is better than weed?
SPEAKER_02Oh, so now we can go there. No, neither one. Neither one is better.
SPEAKER_07They both impair your judgment. Right. How do you test for weed if you pull somebody over? I mean, obviously, impairment, you can do a field sobriety test, but what am I? There's no you can't breathe allies for that, in other words, because it's gonna be in your system for now.
SPEAKER_02Well, if you want to get it down to brass tacks, it's just one more is is more accepted than the other. They do the same thing to you, they both just bring down your cognitive ability. So they both do the same thing. Yeah, it's just one has uh gauge and one doesn't right now, for now.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, there's gotta be a well, I mean, yeah. My my guess would be. Schedule one, I meant. Yeah, they weren't allowed to study it for the longest time. So it's now they can. Now they can, and and we can find out the the health benefits of the mentality.
SPEAKER_02I I just that's what I think. It's like if I can't if right not me, like why is it allowed to do it? If someone cannot go stand over there and burn up real quick, like burn a joint, but you can sit right here, not even sit right here, because I'm not even saying that. If you can go to a real place and order a drink that gets you high, but I can't smoke, that is insane to me. Yeah, totally. It's about being discreet. That's exactly what he's saying.
SPEAKER_07I think it's what he's saying.
SPEAKER_02I I think it's what is it being what what's what's not being discreet about me going away from other but uh anybody around the corner but a cop happens to ride by and smell it. Um but I'm being discreet. You just a cop happened to come ride by.
SPEAKER_07Well, we're talking about two different scenarios. Is it legal or is it not? It's not.
SPEAKER_02So why can I buy it?
SPEAKER_07So why can I buy the drink? Because that's legal.
SPEAKER_09As long as it's under uh I didn't write the laws, dude.
SPEAKER_07They didn't even consult me.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it's a different level. But uh again, like it's if you were in your own home and you did it, nobody would mind.
SPEAKER_02Of course not.
SPEAKER_09If you went outside and did it, then people would mind because you're kind of in the general public.
SPEAKER_02But what if I tell what if what if I tell them it's delta nine and then it's like now you can't say anything to me now because it's delta nine, doesn't matter. Delta nine doesn't matter, is you know, it's but am I gonna get into that argument with a cop because it's like, hey, now you want to take me to jail and do all this and that and find out that you're wrong when you test my weed and it's delta nine, which is the same thing in the drink?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah, that's a totally but that's a So bro, it's like it's it's dumb.
SPEAKER_02It's a good thing.
SPEAKER_09That's illegal, that's illegal. Who hurt you, man? Who hurt you?
SPEAKER_02No, it's like that's the other part of the thing. It's either do it or don't do it. It's either do it or don't do it. Yeah. I hear you. I mean, that that's a hill that I'm willing to talk about. It's like I don't care about that because it's crazy.
SPEAKER_09But are you willing to die on it?
SPEAKER_02No, because I'm not gonna. But I bet people have died behind alcohol for sure.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, Diane. You know what really grinds my gears?
SPEAKER_02You don't see people stopping at green lights on alcohol.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yes, you do. Yes, you freaking do. I was like, wait, what? Yeah, dude, they're passed out, and that's why that's why they're caught, because it's a green light and they're passed out from drinking.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you know what I'm saying. I mean, it is the opposite of that. Why is it? Yeah, I was like, why is he agreeing that's not true at all? Because that was inside of you. You already knew what I was saying was right. But then you thought a little farther. That's cool. But you you know what I'm not you know what I'm saying is not crazy. You know my argument is not masinine.
SPEAKER_09I I get it.
SPEAKER_02It's not an asinine argument. Both are no, but I can see what y'all are both right too. I'm just saying, what I'm saying is not crazy.
SPEAKER_07I can see why, because of smell, even if it's just a smell, but I can see why, but it's not a good thing.
SPEAKER_09It is a limit, it is a limitation of the ability to um uh measure things. So kind of like you were saying, like the more research we can go into this if it can just be a breathalyzer test or a mouth swab or like a you know saliva sample that you just put into a machine, and it can detect how high you are or how much TAC content you have in your body. They can do that, but I'm saying in in like a rapid succession, something that you know is out on site on site in the moment. Because I mean, you could just take anybody to you know uh get a urine sample from them and you can.
SPEAKER_02How much money does that cost? They're not doing that.
SPEAKER_09Exactly. But what I'm saying, it can be the more the more you invest into it, the more readily available. It's coming, it's gonna come, it's coming, and then that way, honestly, I think that'll make the roads safer if you set a strict limit in terms of what is not allowed. That I'm just gonna do that. But that was my point.
SPEAKER_07I I just wondered how how we would get to the point where we can find out what that limit is.
SPEAKER_09You know, when you go out drinking, you know you're you know your limit when you're I would say like three years, we're gonna have something that where something like that can be remote. Well, now that they're able to study it more openly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think maybe the point that I was trying to argue a little bit more was not so much as legally, because I don't I'm not co-signing anybody driving after doing anything. No, no, no, no, not at all. I'm thinking about societally, like when somebody turns their side eye at you when you spark a cigar up at 34. Yeah, well, that's what I was talking about. No, okay, so yeah, then we're on the same page. I I don't mean no one this is not in play of anybody getting behind the wheel of a car or doing anything crazy. I'm saying if we go if we both go stand out there right now, yes, and you spark up and I spark up at the same time, but two people are sitting in here and someone's smoking a cigarette and someone's drinking a f a Delta 9 drink.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dude, what is the difference, bro? It's the same thing, dude. It is literally the same thing.
SPEAKER_07Legally, though, the if we're that's what that's why I I asked if we're talking about legally. If we're in a place where it's legal and somebody had that problem, now you're just now you're just talking about smells and things like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's where I would go with the with the smells. If I'm sitting across the street and I'm trying to have a nice meal and somebody's burning a there's a reasonable expectation that I shouldn't have to smell that if I'm in a place where it's illegal.
SPEAKER_02But someone feels like that about cigars.
SPEAKER_07But that those are not illegal. But that's what I'm that's what my point is, those are not illegal.
SPEAKER_02But let's say but you're feeling but that but it's just a feeling though. It's just a it's coming from the very nature of it, it's a feeling though. It's a feeling coming from California.
SPEAKER_09Coming from California, California is everywhere. You you don't walk down the street and like not smell it. Of course. And so you walk down you know, Venice Boulevard, it's not that I don't want to follow the law, it's like, dude, it's it's a it's a it's a personal thing, it's inside of you.
SPEAKER_02You're like, I don't like that. But it's like sometimes it's like it doesn't matter if you don't like that.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it that that's what walking is.
SPEAKER_02People don't like cigars, people don't like cigars, and you're like, and then what do you say? It doesn't matter if you don't like that because I can well if we're not gonna be able to do it. But I can drink it, but I can't smoke it. That's insane. That is insane.
SPEAKER_07When you're drinking it, when you're drinking it, it's a different level than what you're smoking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so legally what I'm saying, bro.
SPEAKER_07You don't notice I know, but that's why I'm saying we're we're talking kind of about two different things a little bit.
SPEAKER_09So when I was walking the streets of Manhattan, agreed.
SPEAKER_07I'm not seeing I understand. I understand. I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_09When I went to go visit New York, went with the family, walked the streets of Manhattan.
SPEAKER_07Smoked all the doobies.
SPEAKER_09No, but the kids were with me, and they're like, what is that smell? I was like, Oh, that's that's marijuana. That's that's like that. It smells weird. It stinks. I don't like it. And I'm like, that's too damn bad. Give it time.
SPEAKER_07I mean, uh Well, I I said that's too bad.
SPEAKER_09Because it's here, it's here, and it is that's what's that's what you're gonna smell. So that's like going into smoking or non. Deal with stinks in here, yeah. Deal with it. It smells like cigarettes in here. It stinks. Well, that I think that that thing of like this idea of like secondhand smoke and all that stuff has now come out, but that's because of research.
SPEAKER_07But he's talking about if he's over across the street, you're not getting the secondhand smoke, so it's just a smell thing of it.
SPEAKER_09It's just a smell, deal with it. Deal with it. Build some tougher skin.
SPEAKER_02You can't control the on the back side of Church Street. I've tried to remove myself from this. It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter now. Not that I'm standing in the front row of our. No, I have. It's not that I'm standing in the front row of your show, like actively trying to make a statement like I'm gonna smoke wherever I want. No, I'm gonna go stand behind the it would be rude not to pass it to the lead singer.
SPEAKER_07You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go stand behind the cool bus section and try to be away from people, and then so and then if you're like it smells like weed out here, it's like, dude, I tried, bro.
SPEAKER_07Like then go inside.
SPEAKER_09I think that speaks more to you being offended by it rather than you know, like sometimes you you gotta just That's fine. It is what it is.
SPEAKER_02Bro, I don't even spark up in places, I'm just speaking for people that like things I've done in my life past.
SPEAKER_09Like if you're just unapologetically you and you just are you, and if other people just happen to catch strays just because of it, uh if you're happy with it, that's fine.
SPEAKER_02Dude, when we when I used to smoke, I used to have to hide. So it's like that that's that's not even in question. Like I used to have to go like two blocks down, like yeah, I wouldn't even it wouldn't even be at risk. Yeah, yeah, it would never even be a problem because I'd be either A in my car or be way far away in a past life.
SPEAKER_07Now, what do you do for the car smell? You know, I just don't do it.
SPEAKER_02I had nothing going on. I was like 21 years old, like it was I I didn't care, it was nothing like it like dude. Can't resell that.
SPEAKER_07I was gonna plug the ozone generator, you put that thing in there. It's just uh I mean I didn't ever do that, but I have an ozone generator now for my cigar smoke, yeah, for my garage, for you know, dog smell in the room. I mean, it just eliminates that crap. That's not a plug or anything like that.
SPEAKER_02My thing was is like I don't understand the difference between this and this. That is my argument. I just don't understand when there's it there's tea.
SPEAKER_07You feel like it's a double standard.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yes, because there's people that will be like, okay with this, and then you do this in front of the same people that just drank this and they look at you crazy. And I'm like, what are you talking about, bro? What are we talking about here?
SPEAKER_07Bro, it's 2026.
SPEAKER_02You know, I identify as a weed drinker. It doesn't matter if I smoke. There you go, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07This identifies, I identify this as a liquid.
SPEAKER_02This isn't like a pro marijuana thing. I'm just I'm just saying, bro, like there can't be a double standard here on that. That that's crazy. Or just outlaw it, or just or just make it totally federally illegal.
SPEAKER_09Or there can be, and but it is already.
SPEAKER_02So that's so how do people drink it?
SPEAKER_07Oh no, not that.
SPEAKER_02I thought you meant to no, uh you know what I'm saying, because it's federally illegal in North Carolina.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but that they get away with it because of the low content of the THC.
SPEAKER_02That is fucking bullshit. Excuse my language. Hit the button, I don't care. But but is it not? Like, bro, if it's it's gotta be a blanket thing, my bad. I'm going off the rails here. Go off the rails, man. Do it. No, dude, because it's it's stupid. It's dumb to me.
SPEAKER_09We're on it. We're on that train.
SPEAKER_02Nah, because I feel like now it's like people are gonna be like, yo, this dude's tripping.
SPEAKER_07What do I always rant about?
SPEAKER_09Everything.
SPEAKER_07Nah, there's one certain topic that every time it comes out. The left lane drawing. Left lane, freaking passing lane. Yeah, and I go off.
SPEAKER_02I don't want the mountain that like TK dies on to be on weed, but it's like there's that's but if it doesn't happen.
SPEAKER_07The left lane is weed.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I don't even care about weed. Like, I don't smoke like that. Like, I don't even do that shit, bro. Like, it's every now and again type thing with me, like, bro, I'm not putting that shit where don't clip that. Like, whatever they see it, they see it. But it's like, dude, like I just don't understand it. You have regular upstanding citizens drinking these drinks, and there's other regular upstanding citizens that go out here and smoke. What is the difference between the two? Nothing. Literally nothing. Well, yeah. But they get you get looked at different. We could turn this into a debate. It could be.
SPEAKER_08Where he has to argue the opposite. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Why that's wrong. Yes.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about.
SPEAKER_07DC would so that's what I initially thought of for these arguments. The guests come up with the topic, and then they then we have to then they No, I know what I know what you're saying. They pick which side they're on. I think I'm good.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I've already gone too hard on those. This is crazy. Like I kind of like spilled over the other thing. No, but this would be a good one. So now you've got to.
SPEAKER_07Now if we chose this topic, and if they said now you have to argue the opposite position.
SPEAKER_02No, I meant like too much documented. Like I I care about this. Like this is crazy, bro.
SPEAKER_07I gotcha.
SPEAKER_02Like, my bad. I'm this low-key has me pissed off.
SPEAKER_07So be pissed off, man. Patch is what I mean. What else is there? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because I don't know, dude. It's it's crazy, bro. Well, it's not like it's not coming from like stoner. Matter of fact, screw it, bro. It is coming from stoner energy, bro.
SPEAKER_07It's not like you're talking like uh like, hey man, you know, we should be able to smoke more weed. That's not even about that.
SPEAKER_02It's about either some everyone can or no one can't. One of the two. What's up? That was the same thing, I think.
SPEAKER_07All right, yeah, we said the same thing. Cool. No, no, no. Everyone can or no one can't. It would be everyone can or no one can.
SPEAKER_02Well, what you said, whatever the correct way is, is cool. Like either no one can drink it or smoke it, or everyone can drink it and smoke it.
SPEAKER_07So, yeah, either you either you can have both or none. You can't have a drink, but then you can't do it.
SPEAKER_09But yeah, see, there's this thing the law is going to have to be black and white, but society rules is always going to be in the gray. Sure. And so I think that that's like, you know, we're talking about two different things. Legality, that's gonna be black and white, and maybe at some point the legislators will kind of figure that out. But uh, you know, from the social aspect, it's all gonna be shades of gray.
SPEAKER_02Right. I mean, dude, it could be completely legal, and people are gonna still be looking at you like, dude, that stinks. A hundred percent. That's never going away. That's never going away. Um do we think. Cigars could get outlawed and they people still smoke cigars. I'm like, look at prohibition, dude.
SPEAKER_07That stinks look at prohibition.
SPEAKER_02It doesn't matter which way one of the I'm not over here should should weed be provided. I'm not advocating for weed smoking.
SPEAKER_07Should weed be legal? Uh uh which what part? Drinking, smoking? I say yes. On what? Weed. I should be able to grow my own plants on my backyard if I want to. I think it's a thing, it's a victimless crime. It's grown in nature. I think now regulate my behavior. Exactly. Regulate what I do. Police the behavior. You're not gonna go drive, you know, there's still laws against all that. You're not gonna, you know, anything you would look at alcohol with, you'd look at that, you know, anyway.
SPEAKER_02Can I go sell you a six-pack of alcohol that I made in my back room? Can I go brew up some like fifths of liquor and sell it to you? Like sell in the street, can't sell it. That's illegal, right? So, no, I can't go sell you a dime bag. I can't, it's the same thing, bro.
SPEAKER_07Like, I wasn't I'm not talking about selling what you grow.
SPEAKER_02I'm saying grow it for yourself and then No, well, you're gonna run into that if it's legal, you're gonna run into that. People are gonna make a black market for stuff.
SPEAKER_07True. But that you know, making it legal also gives the government the opportunity to tax it, and then you know. I would just be let's look at what happened in Colorado in places where it's you know successful or not successful. You tell us. I don't know. I mean, it has it helped their economy, has it helped their their municipalities?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Is it hurting them in a way that now they're seeing more impairment on the roads? I would be interested to see that. I honestly have not done any of that research. You always hear, you know, you get the propaganda, the clickbait crap, it's like, oh, see, weed always works better. Oh, that's doctors show that it's bad for you. I would be interested to see like a true study, not enough interested to that I'm gonna do it myself. Yeah, but a true study, peer-reviewed journal articles, things like that. Yeah, that that that show either the benefits or the um, you know, the drawbacks of it in Colorado.
SPEAKER_09There's so many different avenues of it, right? I mean, like let's just talk about like physical health. Yes. Do we know what that does, like in terms of physical, mental health?
SPEAKER_07Well, physical health, you should be able to, even though the the classification of the drug does not does not hinder your ability to look at the of the physical health, correct? Uh I'm saying like longitudinally, like well, but no matter how what no what I'm saying is no matter whether it was legal or not, that has nothing to do with how much you are able to study on a patient who has been affected by the effects of, let's say, meth, right? Okay. Meth is super legal, but you still study patients with on meth and things like that. Yeah. Meth uh uh uh uh weed, the classification shouldn't that doesn't matter. That's not gonna change the way doctors look at it because they're still studying the the health of the of their patients. Right. Yeah so that that was my point there is like so that's not gonna make a difference, you know, just the fact that they changed the classification of it or the schedule.
SPEAKER_09Well, uh I do I do think that it it would change the in terms of like if let's say the uh surgeon general comes out and says like hey, these are the things that you are at risk of. Right. But that's there's nothing of that sort right now.
SPEAKER_07Does there need to be something where it's like, yeah, but that's back to the but that's back to the we haven't studied this enough. And and no, but but but they they already should know a lot of those risks since they have been there's been people smoking marijuana since the beginning of time. Yeah, but so they should already know any and all risks, or well not any and all risks, but they should know a lot of the damn risk by now. So why they're not putting, you know, that even though it's not legal or places that it is legal, or what do they put out?
SPEAKER_09What do they you know, like what do they put as their well let's say let's say that alcohol, for instance. Like we know in terms of like what they deem as acceptable drinking, what is you know uh I guess like a uh not necessarily healthy because there is no healthy sort of uh medium for that, but like what is definitively uh this is the threshold on which you're damaging your health. They don't have that for weed. In weed nowadays versus back in the 70s, totally different strains, totally different concentrations. Oh absolutely, yeah. Yeah. And so I think that that is the other aspect of things that if you know what um by putting in more research into it, right? Right, right. Absolutely more research is gonna be helpful. But maybe this is like more of like a um uh capitalist sort of thing, but things need to be a little bit better regulated in terms of what's allowed. Are these other compounds going on in there?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, like how potent are you allowed to make it and all this stuff, and if you can grow your own. There's there's stuff that yeah, there's no way to regulate. There is none. Um we're always talking about hydroponics and stuff in here in in a regular plant and gardening way.
SPEAKER_02Um I mean, but people have never been um prescribed able alcohol for therapy at all. People have been prescribed marijuana.
SPEAKER_07You don't think they were back in like the the days before they knew the effects of alcohol on the body. They did. That was a valid prescription.
SPEAKER_09You would give them a prescription for alcohol.
SPEAKER_07And then maybe even like during surgeries or something.
SPEAKER_09Even now in the ER, they have a can of beer available for somebody that is going through alcohol withdrawal.
SPEAKER_02But you don't have to get a medical card to go get a beer though.
SPEAKER_09You don't, but you're you were saying your original thing was like hey, don't move the goalpost, don't move the goalpost. You don't need a prescription. You you might need a prescription. And so it's like just because it's prescribed doesn't necessarily mean that it's like okay to do. Um you could be prescribed opioids, and whether you have the prescription or not, it can still be damaging. And so I think that that is also another aspect to be later.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Alright.
SPEAKER_07But I think it definitely should be legal. What you said no or yes or no.
SPEAKER_02I mean, at this point I just think it should be illegal, bro. Illegal. After this goes, illegal, yeah. So you're so your bitterness. At this at this point, no, it should just be illegal.
SPEAKER_07So your bitterness is making you say it should be illegal. What do you think?
SPEAKER_02That should be illegal.
SPEAKER_11I think uh federally, federally illegal.
SPEAKER_07So certain things, let's say military still can't do it and you know, police and can't eat it. Well, but certain law enforcement should have to do it so that they know the effects of it.
SPEAKER_08And I don't know which I don't think you need to do it in order to understand.
SPEAKER_07Uh what if you're what if you're undercover working you know in a in a place and you're pretending that you know what the symptoms are like and you don't have any freaking idea because you never tried it before. That's fair. I might be wrong. Shoot me if I'm wrong. I've never been a police officer, I won't speak for them, but I think there's certain scenarios in which I think they should.
SPEAKER_09Do I think it should be legal? Um if I have to do black and white, I'd say yes.
SPEAKER_07Mental health-wise, do you think it's fucking horrible? You think?
SPEAKER_09Oh, it's horrible.
SPEAKER_07How do you know if you haven't studied it?
SPEAKER_09Well, because I see. There hasn't been any studies, but I have anecdotal evidence. You know, I have people that you know go into uh mania or psychosis, literally talk to you uh, you know, about situations the legal case I was telling you about, who I was like off on the phone with earlier. You know, there's legal implications, things that land you in hot water while you're on these things, and it's because of a underlying mental health disorder that they're not going back from. This guy's gorked for the rest of his life, gotta be on medications and whatnot, and that's because of weed.
SPEAKER_07So ambient is legal, but weed isn't. Does ambient cause those things?
SPEAKER_09Well, it's because it's regulated. There's a milligram, there's an understanding in terms of what is there, and what is all right?
SPEAKER_07Still there are people who have sleepwalked out into the street on Ambient. Yeah, and that's completely legal.
SPEAKER_09That's called informed consent. But there's a but aren't there different but aren't there? There's a case where there there was a a kid, it was a marine, um I don't know if it's a marine, I want to say it was a marine, where uh was prescribed ambient to take for sleep. Yeah. He took it or he it says take in the evening. No, no, it was taken the evening as needed for sleep. He was he took it during the day after uh a duty day to go to sleep, and because of that he got into legal issues because the prescription says take in the evening as needed. Because he slept walked and and drove his car. Yeah, completely that's what I'm saying. That's what I mean. That's a scary medication, right?
SPEAKER_07It is and it's completely uh okay to use, and it's like a sc ambient's a bad drug.
SPEAKER_09There's a lot out there that is bad, that can be bad that are that are fully legal. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Well, and you know, I'm not trying, I'm just saying like that's interesting to look at that that's legal, weed's not. And like you said, so what if it's just certain people that that happens to? Because I don't think that the overwhelming numbers are the ones that are having the psychosis.
SPEAKER_02There are tens of thousands of people that don't walk straight walk or sleepwalk out into the road doing it. Tens of thousands of people on weed on ambient.
SPEAKER_07My point was ambient.
SPEAKER_02I'm agreeing with you, but I'm saying, like, on weed and on weed, there are plenty of people that just smoke weed or drink weed and eat Cheetos and go to sleep.
SPEAKER_09And you have to be aware of the risks. There has to be that sort of display.
SPEAKER_02That don't become to your point, that don't become schizophrenic, that don't have psychotic episodes, that don't have uh split personality.
SPEAKER_07That's my that was my point, is I think that it's certain if you have an underlying condition, maybe that it's not for you, but maybe alcohol isn't either.
SPEAKER_09Just look at Ozambic, right? You know, they they have on don't take this if you have a history of medullary, a family history of medullary. Who's listening to that though?
SPEAKER_07Well, they say it on everyone.
SPEAKER_09Doctors need to listen to that in order to provide uh legitimate informed consent. You need to inform prescription, yeah. And the same thing with weed, probably. If we get to that point where we can say, don't do this if you have a family history of schizophrenia, yeah, bipolar one disorder, that sort of thing. That would be a good thing.
SPEAKER_02Okay, now if we're having that conversation, then okay, yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_09And that's what I'm saying. But that's what we're doing. When we say legal, when we say legal, that comes into the whole society in terms of what we are responsible for knowing and not knowing. There's going always going to be an aspect that you do not know, but we cannot be complicit in saying that we're ignorant of these things that that can happen.
SPEAKER_07But but the schizophrenic thing, that's an outlier to what I'm talking about. Is it? It is. I I well, no, who knows? Yeah, you know, who knows? Because we don't we don't know the numbers.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_09But I will say in the military, by and large, by and large, a lot of these guys that are coming in just kind of out of nowhere, no family can be.
SPEAKER_07In the military, you already have something wrong because you already know, like there's plenty of my career out.
SPEAKER_09There's plenty of people that will do things uh even though it's against underage. You don't think I know that? Yeah, right. You don't think I know that at all? Let me ask you a question.
SPEAKER_02Let me ask you a question. You diagnose somebody with schizophrenia or whatever that is a byproduct of smoking weed at an early age.
SPEAKER_09I would diagnose them with uh cannabinoid-induced psychosis.
SPEAKER_02Sure. Cannabinoid-induced psychosis. So it is definitely because of weed.
SPEAKER_09Yes. I would say that it's because of weed, and I would let's say that I wait like three weeks and they all of a sudden clear up, that's cannabinoid induced. And sometimes it takes that long to get out of their system.
SPEAKER_02So what if they don't smoke weed anymore and they're still schizophrenic?
SPEAKER_09And the follow-up, now it becomes a uh schizophrenia. Right now it becomes a brief psychotic disorder, which if it lasts for longer than a month, they are schizophrenic because they're they'll do a urine drug screen and so the weed did not unearth it, it just kind of activated it.
SPEAKER_02It didn't cause it, it just showing it.
SPEAKER_08How can you prove that? That's my question.
SPEAKER_02That's what I'm asking you.
SPEAKER_09And so I think that that is the that's what I'm asking you. That is the interesting we can we can sit there, it's the chicken or the egg. Right? 100%. And and I think that that is uh that is a very difficult question that you're not gonna get to until you get to the like DNA and genetics, and you say if you have this gene, you're a more we are, we are, we are.
SPEAKER_07And once again, this is an entertainment podcast, these are just our opinions. We're having fun. We are not giving any medical advice or anything. I'm just getting I'm not giving any.
SPEAKER_02No, no.
SPEAKER_07I mean, I love no, I love it. Keep it going. I just want to, you know, everybody knows this is not sue us because you went out and freaking. They said take some weed, man. I am not smart. And it's the guy with like I pretend to be smart. We all do. No, no, I so I think great points all around, but I I say yes, you said yes, you say no.
SPEAKER_02I don't give a shit, man. People are gonna think it doesn't matter. So let's call a spade a spade.
SPEAKER_07It doesn't matter if it's legal or not. People are gonna smoke or drink it. That's why I'm saying that's it. Let's face it, it does matter. Because then they can do the testing and you know figure out do the research. Exactly. You know, and figure out how to help people with it. Yes. Uh, Chris, what's your thought?
SPEAKER_01So I think you gotta look at what made it illegal to begin with. And the motivation problems. How many industries?
SPEAKER_07How many industries would it ruin?
SPEAKER_01I mean, we're kind of in this with the you know, non-pharmaceutical solutions to uh, you know, like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, all the light therapies, sauna, and all this. Yeah, you hear negative reports on those all the time. Well, why are we hearing negative reports? Well, they're not pharmaceutical, so pharma. Yeah, so I think you gotta look at the motivation behind what makes it illegal. And then uh agreed. Yeah, but now like yeah, I mean that's it.
SPEAKER_02It's completely subjective, 100% across the board. When you're talking about an exploratory substance such as weed that hasn't been studied on a broad scale, like pharmaceuticals and shit like that, it's subjective. You don't know.
SPEAKER_09It's just as subjective as somebody that uh drinks. They didn't say yes or no.
SPEAKER_01So legal or illegal? Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I mean if you're if you're on if you're in the Congress and you're about to vote yay or nay, comes down to this yay or nay.
SPEAKER_01I would probably say legal.
SPEAKER_07Legal, legal, legal. You lose, man. And no one's looks like we get to smoke weed now. Woo-hoo. Hot ashes. Guess guess what today? And today I'm smoking a nice fat red.
SPEAKER_02I exercised my fifth right amendment. I I pleaded the fifth. I'm not voting. Today we're today. We're smoking a we're smoking death, death? Yeah, well, y'all. People at Church Street's about to cancel y'all because they're gonna smell it over there while they're eating, and they're gonna put that shit out.
SPEAKER_07Nah, they're gonna come over and be able to get it. They're gonna be like, can you please drink it?
SPEAKER_09You also uh it's all dependent on you know how you respond to that, and that's like an individual thing, right? If you're the type of person that gets drunk and gets angry, probably a bad fucking idea. Well, sure, but the type of person that gets high, happy and jolly when when they have a couple beers, great. But for some people, all it takes is like two beers, and now they are just like you know volatile ashes.
SPEAKER_02They're volatile like the whole looking for conflict and argumentative and that kind of crazy person.
SPEAKER_07So and so had two beers. Here we go. Here we go. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So but I'm just letting y'all know y'all can't smoke the doobies on the podcast because everybody's gonna y'all said it.
SPEAKER_07It's not legal, so we can't do it right now.
SPEAKER_02Enough said, see, that's all you gotta say. Then no smoke.
SPEAKER_07But that goes back to my original point. That goes back to my original point. Is it legal or is it not? Should it be when it's legal and it will be, we're gonna smoke it on the show. And there's not anything. I highly doubt it. And now let me tell you this too. It's like those videos of the First Amendment auditors. They go out and they'll video and then and then idiot Karen.
SPEAKER_02Oh, where they're like videoing in a police station, like it's the stupidity.
SPEAKER_07That's dumb. Whether you like it or not, it's a First Amendment right. Yeah. That's the point of it.
SPEAKER_02But they're triggering. It doesn't matter if the point of it doesn't matter. Okay, then at that point, I'm gonna go spark my shit up right there. Standing right there.
SPEAKER_07That's not legal, this is.
SPEAKER_02Okay, well then I'll hit my Delta 9 pin right there and blow right back. You can do that and have the right.
SPEAKER_07But that's the point of it. He's just standing there, and they'll come up in his face and they'll get all aggressive. He's like, I'm just standing here with a camera, and it's completely freaking legal.
SPEAKER_02But you see all the differences, right? Where it could be like a weed pin or a delta nine pin, no one would know. No one would know.
SPEAKER_07No, I don't care. That's what I'm saying. I wouldn't I agree, I wouldn't care. Trust me, none of us here really care.
SPEAKER_02No, I know I'm not saying in like a societal level. You can't tell me nothing. You can't say anything to me.
SPEAKER_07They can't, I wouldn't either. They can because they have the First Amendment right to.
SPEAKER_08They have they can and they have the right to, but that does not make them. I wish that's so late.
SPEAKER_07That doesn't make them correct.
SPEAKER_09Exactly. That does not make them correct, and that also uh doesn't mean that you have to be offended by it.
SPEAKER_07Having the right to do something doesn't make you correct in doing it. Yes. Oh, yes. Because I have more respect than that. I just made something up. Having the right to do something does not make you correct in doing it.
SPEAKER_02I think I operate that all the time. And just so as a as a blank statement, 2026. I would hope I would hope that everybody that's sitting on this table with me right now would know that I would not do something crazy enough to just go trigger people and do something dumb. I watched that. That is not how I operate.
SPEAKER_07She was like, just to do it. No, I don't operate in that way.
SPEAKER_02I operate in the most humble case possible. The sweetest guy they've ever met.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, but I'm just saying unless you tell him to that you're putting things into the wrong uh trash disposal uh canister. Remember when you went to the Landville or to the top? That was a problem. Don't talk to me like I am a child. She did that. I that's not my fault. He did.
SPEAKER_07No, that was good though. That was funny as hell.
SPEAKER_09Throwback.
SPEAKER_07Well, guys, I think we have gone. This is our longest episode. Oh my god. Are we ready? It's yeah, two and a half hours. That was good though, because we went on to that. Come on, right now.
SPEAKER_02I think uh they'll I'll stand on everything I said. I don't care.
SPEAKER_07You had remember that one episode that I was like on, I was aggressive. Yeah, this is his episode. This is his turn.
SPEAKER_09That was when you didn't have good sleep. I think you thought I was mad, dude. I was like, nah, fuck it.
SPEAKER_07I'm good. We'll do it live. Yeah, we'll do it live. I was mad. Let's do some takeaways. TK. Come on, buddy.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I can't even get my takeaways, bro.
SPEAKER_07Come on, buddy. We're glad to have you.
SPEAKER_02Hey, my takeaway is thanks for having me. 420, just blaze it. That's what I'm saying. That's my takeaway. Clip that.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Raja.
SPEAKER_09Oh, I don't even know. Uh geez. Uh, don't take life too seriously. You can you can choose whether or not to get triggered by somebody. You're the one that is in control of that trigger. People don't trigger you, you trigger you.
SPEAKER_01And Chris. Hey, just happy to be here. Interesting conversation. It was fun. Maybe I shouldn't have come up. No, it's all good. No, it was a good time. Hey, these are conversations we gotta have. We can't run away from them. So all good.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I think it was a fun time, and I love when we have these controversial topics where uh we don't necessarily, and a lot of times you guys don't know this, but a lot of times we will we will argue a different point, just be like, well, like we did earlier today, we tried it out. I argued the different thing with the cereal, and you thought I was totally serious about it, but that's because he told me to be serious. Yeah, I love this kind of stuff. This is what we talk about around the cigar shop table. We'd like to thank Georgia Cigars and Swansboro for having us and uh keep on smoking. This is the Hot Ashes Podcast. Um Lee. TK, baby. We'll see you guys next time.
