SPEAKER_01

It's the Hot Asses Podcast. What's up? Back again. Did you know that this is episode 30? 30. Episode 30, baby. 30 30. 30.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna just do one thing right while we're introing because it's gonna drive me nuts. I'm gonna tilt the camera up just a hair.

SPEAKER_01

Go for it. So we're back at Georgia Cigar Shop in Swansboro, North Carolina. We are going to talk about anything and everything that comes to mind. As always, if you have a topic that you'd like to hear us discuss and ramble on about, even though we're not experts in any of it, then tell us those topics. Otherwise, we'll just make stuff up and talk about pickle juice and stuff like that all the time. The stuff we like to talk about. Am I in frame? Am I good? So the first thing we like to do at every for every episode is to start off with what we're smoking and what we're drinking. I'm Lee. TK. Alright. I'm te I'm Tech K. Tech K. That's right, because he just fixed us. So without further ado, Ed D, I am smoking an Avo Caribe. Let me open up my phone because I actually took a couple of things.

SPEAKER_04

Honestly, love the whole Avo line.

SPEAKER_01

I do too, but I hadn't had this one before, so I was like, okay. Avo Synchro Caribe is a journey of flavor comp uh comprised of Caribbean tobaccos with a touch from Central America. This cigar carefully arranged with a synchronization of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Ecuador. And it's got an intensity of about a three and a half out of five. So um I only just lit it. I can't really tell you too much about what I think of it. Uh and I am drinking Pernie Hayes, TK.

SPEAKER_05

TK is sparking up a uh George's Nicaraguan special blend. Um grab it right there. I think it's usually wrapped in newspaper. Pretty good. But I'm gonna need to steal your lighter, Ed.

SPEAKER_01

We just started now it's out of fluid.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't do it though. I promise. Drinking the Yingling. We did decide to uh make Yingling an option at the wedding.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah?

SPEAKER_05

So I figured I'd might as well condition my palate.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that the oldest uh oldest beer in the country? That I wouldn't know. Somebody said that uh one of these shows, I can't remember. Can I borrow that?

SPEAKER_05

Alright, Ed. Yeah, I like Yingling, but uh shout out to Ed. What's up, brother? How are we doing, guys?

SPEAKER_06

I'm smoking a uh fat bottom beddy. Nice little sweet flavor, you know. And I am not drinking today, but I am drinking a Schwepped Ginger Ale. Nice. I got a big day today, so I gotta keep a clear head.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So exciting stuff happening.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, my boy's finally coming back after a long deployment. So that's awesome.

SPEAKER_01

That is awesome. I guess.

SPEAKER_06

You go into the airport to pick him up or no, no, he's flying into uh Cherry Point and then busting over to Lejeune and uh meet him over there tonight about eight o'clock. Oh, that's awesome.

SPEAKER_01

And this won't air until way later, so you guys don't even have to name.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah, very excited.

SPEAKER_01

So that is awesome. This was his first deployment.

SPEAKER_06

This is his first deployment of probably many through his career. But the the first one's always the toughest, you know. You don't know what to expect. Well, but he only has one first homecoming. So we're trying to do it right. We've hunt some signs up and decorated his house and and uh we're bringing his dog back to him after a long, you know.

SPEAKER_01

You're happy about that.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, very happy.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, poor Dixie.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, Dixie gets a uh tough rap.

SPEAKER_01

She's a cutie pie though. She's just uh she's just uh she's a puppy.

SPEAKER_06

I'm excited to see her reaction when she finally sees him after that long you know.

SPEAKER_01

You think she'll remember him?

SPEAKER_06

I think so, yeah. Yeah, she's we've been bringing him to our house for the last week and uh getting her reacclimated to her new, you know, her smells and stuff. Oh yeah, yep. Yeah. But she's you know, he left and she was a puppy still eating everything and shitting everywhere. And uh he's got free training from his parents, so that's the way to do it, man. He timed that perfectly.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, all the the puppy phase. That's that's the way to do it. Well, that's why people rescue dogs a lot of times because they don't want to have to go through the puppy phase, you know.

SPEAKER_06

And we had two at the same time to go through the puppy phase, so that's right, Daisy and they they feed off each other.

SPEAKER_01

Energy is well, and that's that's why I like Great Danes because they that's my energy level. You know what I mean? That's my that's my spirit animal, it's my personality. And I'm only now realizing I should have probably taken her pee before we started because I did right. Okay, thank you. But yeah, I my brother has boxers and that's his oh puppies too, yeah. They just had his his puppies had puppies. His boxers had puppies. But you know, boxers are very, you know, they're rambunctious and they're they're very high energy. And so I'm always nervous when the dogs come over and I've got great Danes. Well, used to have a bunch of great Danes, and the the boxers are just it's I don't want my great Danes playing so much because they're big and lanky and they can break and all that stuff, and I get a little nervous about that. Well, he brought his his uh male down and stayed at my house, and Penny got along just fine with him. She was actually the one that was like, Come on, let's go play, let's go play, let's go play. And then he had to like snap a couple times like, Mary, leave me alone a little bit. So, but uh, you know, she's she's starting, she's on she's all by herself. You guys your dogs are never with other dogs, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

It'll be interesting to see how Dixie reacts to being alone. She's been with her sister and her mom and uh you know, and her two two uncles. Yeah. So maybe she'll like it.

SPEAKER_05

I they think she'll probably, you know, she'll probably be like, what's going on at first?

SPEAKER_06

So it'll be good for the two of them to get reacclimated with each other, you know, having the one-on-one time. So is he married? No, he is not married. I gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

And these are golden retriever puppies we're talking about.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, golden retrievers. No, I I mean I know that.

SPEAKER_01

The people listening don't.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you better live hair. Hair is an accessory in my household.

SPEAKER_05

Hey, nothing that I it goes with everything. Yeah, it's an accessory.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, on your food and on your clothes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, dog hair. Oh, yeah. Oh, and in my house, dog slobber. Because these these babies she's got Pen's gonna take her out. Yeah, I know he said he would. See, she's got all these uncles at the shop that'll take care of her if I'm busy.

SPEAKER_05

So you know how you said like uh Evan timed it right, like he got out of there during like the terrible training phases of the puppy? Yes, like Lee hit record and sat down and was like, oh, I didn't take Penny out, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So can you that's what I always do. I always try to put people on the heart. You scooted yourself to the edge of that frame.

SPEAKER_05

I can't help it, bro.

SPEAKER_01

We can turn that a little bit. Ed, Ed, can you turn that just a touch? Like to the There you go. A little bit a little bit back. A little more. That's fine. I think that's good. I think that's good. I think it's closer than it was.

SPEAKER_05

Just a floating head here.

SPEAKER_01

It doesn't matter, it's pretty good.

SPEAKER_05

I think it's good. Um based on where our dome pieces. It's good from my side. Right, yeah. Well, yeah. The moneymaker is try to keep that.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, to be fair, we just set things up. I love that one.

SPEAKER_05

There you go. Um, so the Schweps, eh? Shweps, yep. It goes with everything though.

SPEAKER_01

Are you a Schwepped guy over uh uh Canada dry? Yeah, I like that.

SPEAKER_06

There's a big difference. Yeah, I'm kind of a uh ginger ale connoisseur, so this one does has a little bit more bubble, a little bit more fizz.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_06

So I find the Canada dry to be a little flat. So I'll have to try it out.

SPEAKER_01

It is, it is flatter. I'll have to try it out again. A little sweeter. I always just get Canada dry. So see, George.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, they put a little more ginger in the schwepps. That's right. I like it. I mean, if you're gonna drink ginger ale, it's very good with vodka.

SPEAKER_01

I never remember which one has more ginger in it. Well, me neither. I'm like standing in the aisle like whenever I need ginger ale, I never know what to which one to get.

SPEAKER_05

Well, if you want something super gingery that's like super ginger reads is good. I just only come in a four-pack though.

SPEAKER_01

But I drink my ginger ale with vodka now, like not as a you know, hangover care or anything like that. I just enjoy the flavor of it. Oh, it's fantastic with vodka.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, it's great. Put a lemon in it. Oh, yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_01

I used to do vodka and cranberry, even though I made fun of that as a girly drink when my friend my friend's wife was making it like Cape Cod? I was like, uh, I don't know. I tasted it, I was like, my new favorite drink.

SPEAKER_05

That's my pops' go-to drink, is a vodka crayon and lime.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, I love it. Yeah, yeah. But then I switched to ginger ale instead of uh cranberry juice.

SPEAKER_05

And it's I've never had it. I've had whiskey and ginger ale, but never vodka and ginger ale.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I just tried it out. I was like, bum, it works. I'm done, I'm gonna try it now. Now, as far as mixed drinks, what's your favorite mixed drink?

SPEAKER_05

A Negroni.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think you're allowed to say that, dude.

SPEAKER_05

Ah, Negroni.

SPEAKER_06

What's it what is that?

SPEAKER_05

It is Kampari, I want to say sweet vermouth, and um gin. Equal parts, all equal parts. I uh let me make sure that that's correct. I know it's all equal parts, but I don't I can't remember if it's sweet or dry. I think it's sweet.

SPEAKER_01

I think the only thing I think I liked for a while there as far as mixed was uh rum and coke.

SPEAKER_06

Uh-huh. I like a uh espresso martini, but you've got to use a real shot of espresso.

SPEAKER_01

See, no, I I only recently started getting into martinis, making them at home just. Dry or sweet? I've tried, I think dry. Um dry is good to me. I typically like dry most things. You know, I like a Maduro cigar, I like a you know, a dry wine, a red wine. What's your favorite wine?

SPEAKER_06

It's your personality, right?

SPEAKER_01

Do you like yeah, yeah, it's dry. Dry eyes. Yeah. Wow. No, I it's even with wine, it's like I I started out with uh like a Riesling or something just to get into it because I wasn't a wine guy. And then after a little while, I was like, Too sweet. This is way too sweet. So I the you know, I'd progress further and further red and more and more dry. And I just, you know, I can drink pretty much any red wine as long as it's nice and dry. But I do prefer uh Rum and Coke was one of them. For a while I went through a stint, a mojito stint after my uh Puerto Rico, my South America.

SPEAKER_06

Mojitos are more of a summer drink, though. Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_01

You know, we went down to um South America in 08 for humanitarian and stuff, and one of the places we stopped with Puerto Rico when we had mojitos, that was my first mojito, and I was like, ah, magic, magic, I need to make this. So I learned how to make it as soon as I got home.

SPEAKER_06

It's not hard, but I think making them's just as fun as drinking them. It is because you're muddling the bills. You gotta get into it.

SPEAKER_01

But then after a while, it's like, all right, I'm kind of sick of doing all that. This is like some actually work. Yeah, yeah. So, and I I got used to making Tom Collins. Nice. Did you ever when you were on the ship, did you ever go to the bars and like there they uh when I was on the a cruise, they had uh a a course where you like a bartending.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, they had that at the resort too.

SPEAKER_01

Did you do it? No, we did it. It's fun. You like burn the orange peel just for the yeah, it's like an actual cocktail class. Man, yeah. I mean, you don't really you learn like four drinks, but like still though, you know how they're actually made. And then you know that they'll talk you into buying their kit with the cup and the shaker and all stuff. And like, which is a cruise, of course I'm gonna buy it. So is a sales pitch. So what? I'll buy it, you know. It wasn't expensive. And we love, man, I've I still use that thing to this day, and this was freaking six, some years ago that uh we went on that. But anyway, uh I like to try to make different kinds of drinks, but it's it sucks if you're gonna use your liquor for something that ends up taking tasting like crap.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_05

Another good gin drink, obviously. I like gin as far as my clear alcohol, gin ricky. It's a uh it's gin, soda, simple syrup, and lime juice. It's good and garnished with mint.

SPEAKER_01

I used to make Tom Collins all the time, and we'd use tangre.

SPEAKER_05

Is that lemon?

SPEAKER_01

I don't think so. Oh, I don't know. I mean, I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I was asking.

SPEAKER_01

It's tangerai. Um I think I think, like you said, simple syrup or whatever it's called.

SPEAKER_06

I like a sweeter gin. Yeah, like uh Hendrix is really good. Hendrix is good. It's got a little bit of cucumber flavor and sweet. Yeah, not a dry gin. I'm not a dry gin.

SPEAKER_01

Gin, it'll get you kind of a weird headache. And it's got a weird afterflavor, too.

SPEAKER_06

Like a maybe it's got a lot of sugar in it. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Sugar is what gets you a ton of sugar.

SPEAKER_06

I used to drink a lot of Captain's and Coke or Captain Morgan's, but it just as I got older, your palate changes as you get older.

SPEAKER_01

Meat, I was drinking Captain and Coke, I switched to Sailor Jerry and I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_06

It's too sweet and it gives you a raging headache in the morning.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's why vodka and ginger ale.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you can't go wrong. You know what I mean? An old fashioned is another good one. Sweet too. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Those are sweet to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like old fashions.

SPEAKER_06

You gotta be careful, you can't have too many of those.

SPEAKER_01

What's the other one that's Manhattan? Manhattan.

SPEAKER_06

Manhattan. That was my grandmother's favorite drink.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah. She loved them.

SPEAKER_01

Manhattan's my mom drinks rum and sprite. It's like, but it's Bacardi rum.

SPEAKER_05

That seems like a party drink.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, she yeah, she doesn't buy the Picardi. She buys like aristocrat or something. Well. Or what's the what's the lowest one? Like, okay. And I'm like, mom, I'll get your vodka. It's economical.

SPEAKER_06

I don't think you can get anything lower than aristocrat. Nah. A handle's like what 12 bucks.

SPEAKER_01

Like if some people don't care. Like if they don't, if you can't taste it, if you're mixing it up, who cares? But I still get gray goose for my vodka.

SPEAKER_05

Ow.

SPEAKER_01

What? I love gray goose. I mean, I can't.

SPEAKER_05

When we were going to your place a lot over there, we were getting dirty martinis. That was our spot to go to for dirty martinis. That that was our favorite drink to go over there. And you guys used to carry this wine called Cheeseburger, and it was so good. It was a red wine. Cheeseburger in Paradise, right? That's what I've got to do.

SPEAKER_06

It can't get any better than that.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_01

What's is it like taste? It was just a weird one.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it was a like a hipster-y title. Yeah, good. I think it was a blend, right? Yeah, it was a red blend. It was a red blend. I like blends. Same.

SPEAKER_01

They got like a menage a toit, apothic, and all those. I think I'm saying that right. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

It's not like as harsh on the you know the palate. It's like just soft enough to where it's good. Not too sweet.

SPEAKER_06

All right. Not too dry. Just right.

SPEAKER_01

What what about scotch?

SPEAKER_06

I haven't really felt uh good. Yeah, I'm iffy on a scotch.

SPEAKER_05

Johnny Black. It's pretty much as far as it goes.

SPEAKER_01

We talked about that, right? Yeah, you talked about that. Um, and I think we did say that when we we brought that scotch out to your place. I didn't mind that one. It wasn't too bad, but I'm not a PD scotch guy. But yeah, I I typically stick to one dr I'll just stick to one drink.

SPEAKER_06

When you start mixing them up, it's when you really get yourself in trouble.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, then there's no tournament.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I mean yeah, I mean like I'll I'll go through like a phase where I'm only drinking vodka and crank or vodka and ginger, or I'll go, you know, I'm only drinking Pernie Haze or I'm only drinking pernicious. You know, it's weird. That's how I am with beer though, too. Yeah, and but I've been on this kick for a while.

SPEAKER_05

You have?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So what determines whether you like want to rock out with a hazy or the regular?

SPEAKER_01

Well, the well, if we're here, I'm typically gonna be doing the hazy just because it's a 6.7, right? 6.9, and those are 7.2. Negligible. Negligible.

SPEAKER_05

It's harder.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's negligible, but it matters. It yeah, it does, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

When we wear it, when you're drinking multiples, it starts to add up.

SPEAKER_05

Yes. Then it's like times nine, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, we also count the hours and the beers and like do all the math and make sure we're we're good to go. Yeah, it's sometimes we turn it into a party here and it's like uh I'm Ubering. My truck's staying right there.

SPEAKER_06

I haven't found my drinking palette after the 40 days of being dry. I really haven't felt an earth. I did drink a little bit Saturday, but I felt terrible yesterday, so I'm back on the line.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like that's kind of how it is, though. Once you just like chill for a while, yeah, then you just lose the it's like, all right, I'm good.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you rewired your brain. True.

SPEAKER_05

You know, you feel guilty. That too. Like you just like did all this work.

SPEAKER_06

Why why am I going back? I felt great while I wasn't dry or sober, and yeah, why not stay? Why not? Cheers. So plus it helps on my training. Used to that. I'll drink to that.

SPEAKER_05

My ginger ale. Shwepp's nothing but the finest. All right. Now y'all got me wanting to try some shweps.

SPEAKER_01

I've had it, I've had it.

SPEAKER_05

I just you know it's my grandparents turned me on to Schweps, like, because my grandfather was from he's from New Hampshire, so he's all about the ginger ale's and uh northern. Is it a northern thing? I don't even know what I just said that is Schweppes Northern Here comes Roger. I'm not really sure.

SPEAKER_01

Ching, ching, ching, ching, ching. Like he's got uh those things on his boots.

SPEAKER_06

Is that Roger or a top?

SPEAKER_05

That's a nice hat.

SPEAKER_01

Huh? Oh, you thought it was a racist man. Don't be put don't be putting me in that category. Uh I guess he was the wrong person to do that on. What are they called? I can't think of yes, God, why couldn't I think of that word? You ever do that? It's like an easy word. He's just like, I don't use it enough.

SPEAKER_06

What is he watching Yellowstone or something lately?

SPEAKER_01

No, he's got he's got a wedding to go to, and it's like uh country western themed or something like that. So he was like, I'm gonna go out. And he got some nice boots and he got a nice hat, and you know that is a sick hat. A whole a shirt, like a but it looks like country, dude, like John Travolta, whatever that movie was, mid at something cowboy.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, that was great flick.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but that's that's kind of how he you know he's got the whole get up. But um, yeah, so he's going to a wedding, I believe it is.

SPEAKER_06

Speaking of Urban Cowboy, are you a sissy fan or were I don't remember that. You don't remember that? He was dating at uh Oil Tycoon's uh daughter.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but I'm I'm too young to remember it. Uh isn't that weird for me to say? Yes, you'll have to rewatch it. It's 80s, though, right? I've seen early 80s. Yeah, so I was it on Netflix earlier.

SPEAKER_05

It was on Netflix at one point. I've scrolled past it, I think.

SPEAKER_06

They film a lot of it at Gilly's, which is still around. Famous bar in Texas, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Dang. So that'd be pretty cool. Good watch. I might check it out. Even even today, it's a good watch.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah, yeah. It's it does it. It age, yeah, it aged as well.

SPEAKER_01

And I I'll watch old movies again, man, that I don't remember or or can't remember if I've seen.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_01

I can't remember which one was the recent one I did, but I I watched it and it was you know just an old ass. Oh, it was uh the final countdown. Oh, old 80s movie, you know, like about ship goes back in time, and it's like Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, and Martin Sheen's super young, and Kirk Douglas is all alive and stuff. Yeah. Funny how that works. No, but it was it was good. You got to get past the cheesiness of certain things. They didn't have the technology we have now. You know that they didn't have the the the I guess I would say the writing even got better over time because of just what we learn over time. You learn from okay, that didn't really work. I'm not necessarily saying writers are better now because like obviously you can say, well, Shakespeare is one of the best writers of all time. I don't mean it like that. I mean you build on the knowledge to make a good story for cinema. Not a good story necessarily for like a book or something like that, but for cinema, it's just gotten better and better. So when you watch these old 80s or 70s movies, it you gotta watch them with that lens on.

SPEAKER_06

Sure.

SPEAKER_01

And my my kids and I, 20, they're 25 and 23, and they'll watch these old movies. And yeah, that's cheesy. This is cheesy, but like if you're if it's a comedy, who cares how cheesy it is? Like my daughter and I watched all the Jerry Lewis movies and stuff again.

SPEAKER_05

Well, that stuff too, at that time, you know, like you're saying, view it through that lens. At that time, it's groundbreaking, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, however, have you ever tried to watch what is that uh Citizen Kane?

SPEAKER_06

No, I haven't seen that in a long time.

SPEAKER_01

It's terrible, but it was the best movie of all time. Sure. Because of it's a different time, you know. It's hard to watch it now. You got an ash, um, not an ash, but a piece of something there.

SPEAKER_06

But yeah, I love to watch 80s movies with uh my daughter, she loves 80s movies. Yeah, she can't get in all the cheesy rom coms and that kind of stuff. She loves that stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Speaking of rom-coms, I just watched in the airport Jerry Maguire. Oh snap. Bro, that was a good movie. It was a really good movie. I thought it was a great movie. It was so good, even that like I we got off the plane with like 45 minutes left to watch, and I was like trying to get to the next gate so I could sit back down. I was like, I gotta finish it. She's like, Where do you want to eat? I was like, I need to finish this movie first, and then we can go eat. Great line from that movie. You had me at hello. That's the iconic, the iconic line.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. I thought you were gonna say show me the money. So show me the money.

SPEAKER_04

Show me the money.

SPEAKER_01

That was good too. That was good. That was a good movie. You know, I like a lot of Tom Cruise movies.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he's a good actor, a little weird on the back on the back.

SPEAKER_01

He's weird in real life, but like he's a good act, and he's a pilot, he does all his own stunts. I think he does all his own stunts.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like he got weirder over time.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's because of his power in the church with Scientology. But still, though, even but anyway, he's a great actor. Very, very good actor. I like his stuff. And I'll and sometimes I'll watch a cheesy move that I know is like a cheesy like it's gonna be a cheesy movie, but you gotta go into it knowing it because you're watching with other people, and it was like, okay, I chuckled at that. My brother had. Me watching the dumbest movie in the world this weekend. I laughed maybe two, three times throughout the whole movie.

SPEAKER_05

Was he presenting everything else like it's hilarious?

SPEAKER_01

He always does. Everything else was over the top. Like you might have seen it. It's a Sasha Baron Cohen movie.

SPEAKER_05

Is it the dictator?

SPEAKER_01

No. The brothers, brothers, Grisby.

SPEAKER_05

Nah. No, I haven't seen that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. There's funny parts. Have you ever seen um oh Shazam? Yes. You know the bad guy? Yes. The bald bad guy. With Shag? No, no.

SPEAKER_05

Or Sin Bad?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_05

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Shazam, dude, the new one. I'm thinking of Kazam. The movie Shazam with uh what's his name? I can't remember his name. Anyway, that bad guy is also in this, and he plays the brother of, but he's like a super, it doesn't matter. I'm not gonna.

SPEAKER_05

Do you know what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I know what you're talking about, but that's that's Kazam.

SPEAKER_06

Man, do you know what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_01

It's Kazam.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Not Shazam.

SPEAKER_06

Speaking of 82 movies, I heard today they're doing a re uh part two of Spaceballs. Oh, you just heard that today. They've been talking about that forever. Oh, that was a fantastic movie, but man, is it gonna be the same without John Candy?

SPEAKER_01

Hot take. It's gonna suck. I hope it doesn't.

SPEAKER_06

I hope it doesn't either.

SPEAKER_01

I really hope it doesn't. Spaceball is one of my favorite movies in the world.

SPEAKER_06

It might need a room temperature.

SPEAKER_01

Hold on, hold on. Let me let me just tell you my my thought process here. History of the World Part One was one of my all-time favorite movies growing up. My brother and I, Jared, we quote every single line of that movie. I mean, we love that movie. Spaceballs. A lot of Mel Brooks movies are great. And then they then years later, recently, in the era of let's just make, let's just fucking use what we used in the past.

SPEAKER_06

Sure.

SPEAKER_01

Everything's use what you use in the past. Oh, let's let's go back to this and make a history of the world part two. Well, one of the funny jokes about it was there was never gonna be a part two. They just called it History of the World Part One, and at the end it says, join us in Space Balls too, the Sewage for More Money. And that was funny, but that was the end of Space Balls. What's going to happen is they're gonna do what they did, and they tried to make History of the World Part two as a series on Hulu. It was the dumbest freaking show I've ever episode. I mean, it was the worst. It was so bad, and I'm like, what is this? Is it a money grab? I mean, it's obviously a money grab, but like it's it was terrible. If I'm wrong, go ahead and kill me on the comments. But uh history of the world two sucked, and I feel like it's gonna be another money grab. Let's whatever jokes work in the first one, let's just you know make them a little bit different, use them in the second one. That's what a lot of you know, a lot of these.

SPEAKER_06

There's so many movies out there that the sequel is never as good as the first one. It's so hard to follow up when you have a great flick.

SPEAKER_01

But then some of them sequels even better, right? You know, and that's the formula they're looking for. But when you just go into it, all right, let's just get something up on screen.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, that's why it's scary whenever you hear like a sequel to a movie that you like is coming out, you're like, ah I get that way every time a Superman movie's coming out.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, leave it alone, man.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, I'm with you there. Leave it alone. Leave it alone, let it be great on its own, it's fine. I feel like the writers struggle to come up with new, you know, new, you know. I agree.

SPEAKER_01

I still think if they were gonna remake a TV show from like the 80s and 70s, then it needs to be the greatest American hero. Oh, yes. Because they could do so much with our technology now and CGI and all that crap. Because you know what it is is he's he finds he finds an alien uh suit, like a superhero suit. He finds an alien suit and it has a manual with it, an instruction manual. Well, episode one, he loses the instruction manual. And he's working with this FBI agent, that's like his his trainer, his handler, or whatever, and he's trying to learn his powers and he flies, but he always crashes into stuff because he doesn't know how to do it because they lost the manual. And it's that there's that comedic portion of it, but it's you know, every episode is just him stumbling through saving the day. But with today's technology, I think it would be it would be freaking awesome. But no, we'll keep remaking other stuff.

SPEAKER_05

We're gonna make scream eight. Yeah, let's make scream eight.

SPEAKER_01

I bet I know what happens. Yeah, somebody's gonna die. Someone's dying. Yeah, so so yeah, sequels are hit and hit or miss.

SPEAKER_06

Hit or miss. There's some good ones and there's a lot, but I think there's more bad ones than there are good ones.

SPEAKER_01

Of sequels. Of sequels, yeah. I was watching something today uh about a sequel, about one of the Superman sequels, and Superman's my favorite, you know, comic character and all that stuff. So I've and I was born in 78, in December of 78, that's when Superman came out, one, you know. So I grew up just reading the comics, watching all the movies, and my brother was Batman, everything Batman, and my other brother, I think, is Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_06

And you were Superman.

SPEAKER_01

And I was Superman. So I was watching Superman 1, I loved it. You know, if you go back and watch it, there's cheesiness to all of it. Of course. But I'll still, anytime it's on any of my, I was like, oh, Superman three, let's watch it. Superman four, let's go, you know, the quest for peace. Even though the quest for peace wasn't as good as uh part two, they all had their different dynamics. Right. The thing I was watching was talking about how in part two with General Zod and Ursula and the other guy, where he takes his S off and throws it. It's like, the hell was that? And it becomes this big plastic thing. But he's in but he's in the Fortress of Solitude, so he has all these like I don't know, you know, they're not real things happening, so they're hallucinations that I guess he's throwing it. It doesn't matter, but stuff like that. It's like, and then he goes back at the end of that one and beats up a human who was beating him up at the bar, yeah, at the restaurant, yeah. But it's like Superman wouldn't do that. You know what I mean? Like good old wholesome Superman. But anyway, I digress.

SPEAKER_05

That's how I feel about Superman, like he's a nice guy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

A gentleman and a scholar.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and they they keep trying to change stuff with him, and that's what that's why I don't want him to keep coming out with new Superman movies. Unless you're gonna put Henry Cavill back in the in the seat.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I mean, I don't they never double back when they take Superman.

SPEAKER_01

No, I know I well, they're talking about a different network or something making it and then having a series. It doesn't matter. Uh I did like David Corn and Sweat.

SPEAKER_05

At least, like, I'm not getting my hopes up.

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't even, I'm not getting my hopes up. But I I liked the Superman movie, parts of it, but there was a lot of it I did not like. But I'm not gonna talk about that. We got other things.

SPEAKER_05

Good vibes on it.

SPEAKER_01

We got other things. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_05

What's up, Roger? Or should I say howdy partner?

SPEAKER_02

What do I say? Knee howdy.

SPEAKER_05

Wow. Nicely done there.

SPEAKER_02

Could I turn down the volume a bit?

SPEAKER_05

That is a nice ass hat. That sounds better.

SPEAKER_02

Thanks, thanks.

SPEAKER_01

Is that better? Better. Yeah, he went out and he's got the whole getup, man.

SPEAKER_05

I've wondered I was wondering if you were gonna sit down and I wanted to know what you were gonna do with the hat because I've wanted to wear my I've wanted to wear my cowboy hat before, and I'm like, well, I can't put the headphones on, so I just don't wear it. I've wanted to wear my cowboy hat before.

SPEAKER_01

You could do it without the headphones.

SPEAKER_05

I think I was gonna put the headphones on and then put the cowboy hat over it and let it sit on top, but then I wouldn't want it to fall on the floor. Yeah, true.

SPEAKER_02

Look, that's ridiculous where it's just like that. Exactly.

SPEAKER_05

See, I didn't even want to go that route.

SPEAKER_01

Well, someday we'll we'll get fancy and we'll go with like in ears or something like that. If we were in a studio, we wouldn't work we wouldn't need these. Yeah. Yeah. Or you could probably hook your just a wired pair of in-ears to it. You know, probably those old school non uh wireless people use, okay? Right.

SPEAKER_05

We can get it on Amazon. I even have a buckle, belt buckle.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-oh. You're about to pull your pants down. Oh, let's go. Damn. Nice. You're supposed to win a rodeo to get one of those. I was gonna say that. I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_06

I'm a poser. He wins a rodeo every day he goes to work. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Eight second.

SPEAKER_05

Wildest eight seconds of your life.

SPEAKER_02

And I'll bill for bill for an hour. Oh fuck.

SPEAKER_05

Nice. It's like curling.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was about to say, I haven't been brushing up on my curling skills.

SPEAKER_01

But you've been brushing up on your shooting skills.

SPEAKER_02

That I have. I just put on a new flashlight on my pistol, too.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. And you got that new uh system.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the Manus X. Manus X is uh dry fire system. Well, I have the X10, so you could actually take it to the range and it'll um assess your recoil. Oh, for right, kind of figure out hey, you're you're either like you got a limp wrist or you're using too much finger, too little finger, giggity. Um I wasn't gonna do it. I was gonna let you get through. I was like, ah is there too much? Anyway, go ahead. Uh I took my wife out shooting for the first time, like her first time ever. And we were dry firing the night before, so she got used to like the the trigger pull and you know feeling the wall on the on the trigger and everything.

SPEAKER_05

Um this is like a giant sexual innuendo. I'm sorry, I can't tell you. There's so many things running through my head. Yeah, is what I do.

SPEAKER_02

Get your mind out the gutter. I can't. The PG show.

SPEAKER_03

Giggity, giggity, giggity.

SPEAKER_02

But she Lee and I were talking about this. I don't know. I've every time I've had a woman taken a woman to go shoot, whether it was like or my my uh brother's wife, first time her first time shooting, took a while for her to get the nerves out. Then all of a sudden she's fucking shooting like a marksman. Yeah, and you're like, Well, I wasn't this good.

SPEAKER_01

Well, a lot of people have to get over that initial fear of what they feel when it surprises them when it recoils for the first time.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, even just walking up, and you're she's like, Am I supposed to hear this much when the guns are going off? I was like, Yeah, yeah, it'll block off you know the the higher decibels and whatnot, but you know, you can still hear you're gonna feel the concussion too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, whenever I take people shooting, like even when I took my kids shooting the first time, like, all right, we're gonna put our headphones up. When we start walking up, you're gonna hear some loud shots and stuff. It's gonna be a little scary, a little, you know, so they know what to expect. And I'm just like, it's fine, don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Now she's got she asked me, she's like, Yeah, is ammo usually that expensive? I was like, Oh, it's a little bit cheaper if you get it online. She's like, Maybe we should probably get some because I think she's got the gun bug now. You're like, okay, yeah, we should. That's how you do it.

SPEAKER_01

That's how you do it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was a whole long round trip for me to try to reel her in and get her into got him. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So you were talking about though getting maybe her her own Glock with a different grip.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, the I have a Glock Gen 5, and the Gen 6 has a more narrow uh grip, and so it'll fit her hand better because I felt like she had to keep readjusting her grip. And so um probably gonna get her the Gen 6 at some point.

SPEAKER_05

I want to get a pistol. You don't have one. Nope. You need one, dude. I really do want to get one. I want to get the Smith and Weston that uh M and P. Yeah, and the M Shi. The Shield Plus. The Shield Plus, it's a little smaller, it's super nice.

SPEAKER_01

I got a little MP bodyguard, a little 380 for ankle carry.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's not working for me right now. Sometimes shoots. It shoots for Roger, but it doesn't shoot for me. Oh, is that the one that was like I'd go click, click, and then I'd screw that and I'd pick up my 1911 or something, my 45, and I'd just be shooting that. And he's over there messing with it. Bam, bam! And it's like, and he puts it down, he's like, Alright, try it. I pick it up, click, click, and then nothing.

SPEAKER_05

My uh future brother-in-law Kyle just got a pistol. He got a nine millimeter, he got a canic TTI. I'm not sure what it is.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, that's the one that I want.

SPEAKER_05

It's not, it's not like uh the it's not like a concealable one, it's like a full-size nine millimeter.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that might be the Kanik TTI combat. I gotcha. So Terran Tactical is the the guy or the company um that trained John Wick. So when you have whenever you see the videos with like either like Keanu Reeves, he trained John Wick, yes. Uh the the modern day don't ruin this for him, yeah. Right, man. They're in the same. It's like Chuck Norris with Keanu Reeves, you know? Um, but yeah, he trained like Halle Berry and all of them. So whenever you see the celebrities shooting that, they're shooting at his and I saw one time those two were out there shooting together. Yeah, yeah, because they were in the John Wick movie together.

SPEAKER_01

That's cool.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I only saw John Wick one. I'm not gonna lie, it was good. I've only seen the first one. But it's like, how many of these do we need? Well, now we're gonna really get hate for that one because people love people love John Wick.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, the second one picks up right where the first one is.

SPEAKER_01

I know everybody's been telling me to watch it. I just you know how it is. We got all these shows we're watching, man. Oh, yeah. The pit takes up all my time. I can't get past the pit. It is good, but uh no, I it so go back to what you were saying, the trainer.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, Terrence. So he he trains all the like celebrity shooters and whatnot for competition shooting. And um he partnered up with Kanik to come out with the TTI Combat, which is essentially like a competition gun. It's got everything all the bells and whistles that you would want for a competition gun. It's got the built-in compensator for like relatively affordable for like a thousand bucks.

SPEAKER_05

Then that is what he got because that's what it how much he paid for it. Yeah, yeah, that's the one that's gonna be like. And it's like it looks brand new. It's like it looks like a newer, it looks like new tech. It's yeah pretty cyclic. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Is it like the two-tone one? It's like it's font and black, copper and black. Copper and black, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like the inside, like I think the compensator's like copper.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think the barrel's uh the barrel, the barrel's copper.

SPEAKER_05

And like uh but then when you rack it and it's closed, you can barely see it. But when you like pull the slide back, you can see all the copper inner workings and stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. Guns. Dopey. I like guns.

SPEAKER_01

I like guns. I like that. I like the uh Springfield Operator 1911.

SPEAKER_06

I want to get a 1911 though, too. All-time favorite gun. Can't go wrong with a 1911.

SPEAKER_01

It's my first 1911 too, and I love it. It's oh, it's my favorite one. Man, if you that's the one I took over to the rifle side and was still hitting. Yeah. From like however far we were.

SPEAKER_02

Just wait until you start getting into uh 2011s and you start shooting like if you shoot a staccato. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

What is that? It's just something classic about the 1911, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Is staccato uh it's like I mean is it better? Uh no, they have different sizes of it, but it's just better built, better quality, um, smoother mechanics of everything. Um it just shoots like butter, but it is more expensive.

SPEAKER_01

So you just did something to your 1911. You put it in the case.

SPEAKER_02

I changed out the springs. I changed out the recoil springs to a lighter spring weight. And so the Glock typically factory has either 17, 18-ish pounds, and I reduced it down to 15, and then I just reduced it down to 13 um just to play around with it. Because I have a compensator on my Glock.

SPEAKER_01

And so if there's that's why I thought you were saying the compensator, that's why I thought you meant that he had a compensator on the Glock.

SPEAKER_05

Well, yeah, but I'm not like super gun savage.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, and it's no I I once you said that I realized you weren't talking about that.

SPEAKER_02

So the compensator, um, it's just basically um filtered on the towards the tip of the muzzle, right? And it allows for gas dispersion to go upwards. And so when you shoot, kind of the gas dispersion pushes the gun back down to uh its original. So it shoots flatter. Yeah, it doesn't, you don't feel the full recoil. But with that, with that sort of dispersion, you don't need as heavy of a spring.

SPEAKER_01

And it's supposed to go back and back to your point, you know, your main target quicker. And so he had me do it. It's pretty fun, dude. It's super fun, but he's got a red dot on his, and I don't have red dots on any of mine. So when I'm holding it up there, you feel like you're still you're still until you look at that red dot, and you're like, You're bouncing all over.

SPEAKER_02

I might as well be doing this. You feel like you got Parkinson's because this is just like you really you really do.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, when do I pull the trigger? Like, and then I almost just kind of like, man, I need my iron sights to you know, but then when you do it, it's like, okay, I guess I worked out at some point.

SPEAKER_02

It becomes like a video game. Just paint the dot on the target and then just pull the trigger.

SPEAKER_01

That was crazy. It was cool though. It was cool.

SPEAKER_02

We gotta go out, we gotta go shooting.

SPEAKER_01

We do. I missed our last shooting uh thing because of my back. It was very, very disjacked. I was very uh in very much pain. But we we talk about all the time here. Whenever we go, we usually put it in the group. Hey, we're going to shoot. Anyone want to go? Yeah. And we've got plenty of guns.

SPEAKER_05

Where's the range at again? Flatwoods out roads.

SPEAKER_01

Riggs Road. Flatwoods. Yeah. You know Riggs Road. Nope. You well, we don't know this area very well. It's it's right down the road in Hubert.

SPEAKER_05

Is it by the Moose Lodge? No. No, past that.

SPEAKER_06

You gotta go keep keep going down 24.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay, I got you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know where you know where Hubert Boulevard is. You go down 24 and you know where 172 is to go to the base. 100%. You're gonna go right instead of left. Oh, okay. And then at the end there, you're gonna take a right and then a first left. Oh, I got it. That's Riggs Road. Takes you out there like you're going up north.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

To New Bern or something.

SPEAKER_05

Then I know now and then.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and then just a little bit up the road, it's it's right there on the left.

SPEAKER_05

I've shot guns before, I just don't have my own. Like my dad's taken me. We'll come out there with us. Plenty of times. I'm not afraid of it.

SPEAKER_06

We'll let you try a few things and you know, let's see what you do. It's always better to try before you buy. Right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And they are super uh I don't know, it's probably a bad accident that happened before, but they are very strict about like their rules and kind of what they do. Um at the range, yeah. And it's all for safety. Yeah, so it's like you know, they have times where you can't even touch your gun or ammunition or something. Open it up back up on the line so you can come and check them all. Yeah, show clear, and then you can't even load magazines or anything like during that time. During that time, that's when everybody starts walking out to go fix their character targets.

SPEAKER_01

And pick up brass and scoop it in, throw it away.

SPEAKER_05

What um is it it's inside or outside?

SPEAKER_01

But they have a pistol, uh, a shotgun, and a rifle. So they got a whole big old rifle side, a big pistol side, and then in the middle is a skeet range.

SPEAKER_05

That's how B and R is on Nine Mile Road. It's probably not as nice as what you guys are talking about, but the same kind of concept.

SPEAKER_01

I think I've passed by there. I've been wanting to go out there and try that yet. Yeah. If you want a good range, indoor range, it's sportsman's lodge lodge is really good. Now I haven't shot there. I've been there a few times looking at guns, but uh, I haven't shot there, but you can rent guns there.

SPEAKER_02

They have you rent uh not by fire.

SPEAKER_01

You can rent, I think you can rent flatwoods too. I'm not sure though.

SPEAKER_02

I don't I haven't seen it, but I don't know. You know, maybe they do, but over at Sportsman's Lodge, they rent by caliber. So let's say you wanted to you rent a nine millimeter. Well, all of the pistols that are in nine millimeter caliber um you can rent. And it's all one price. Wow. So if you get to, you know, you wanted to try different ones just to figure out which one you like shooting better, hop around to different ones. And I had like I tried like seven or eight of them just to figure out which one I liked out of all of them.

SPEAKER_01

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_05

That's crazy because then you might stumble across something you would have never picked up before, and then you're like, whoa. That's true.

SPEAKER_01

Because when I got that MMP, uh the bodyguard, um, I did not like the way it fired. As soon as I fired it, I was like, ah, that trigger takes forever to come back. So I had them up the road, Snumpies, they changed up my trigger. Yeah. And that's when I hadn't shot it since. That's why it's so I'm gonna I still I say it every day. I'm gonna take it back up there, man. Have a look at the front of the street.

SPEAKER_03

You could probably take it apart yourself and try to do it.

SPEAKER_01

I probably can. Yeah, but it's like am I gonna do that? Knowing your luck. Or it'll just explode when I shoot.

SPEAKER_05

It's gonna turn into dust. Leave it to the professionals, right?

SPEAKER_01

Right, exactly. I know a guy. Yeah, I'll pay a guy. But no, but yeah, you you're your your expectations versus reality, whereas my expectations for my 1911 far exceeded, dude. I like it, it shoots way easier and better than I thought it would. It's a 45, so it it has more recoil, but it's a heavy, heavy, you know.

SPEAKER_03

I wouldn't even say it has more recoil.

SPEAKER_01

It doesn't because of how heavy it is. Yeah, exactly. And that's what uh high point, you know, high point makes those cheaper. So for shits and giggles, when they came out with the new nine millimeter. Sorry, I might need to hit that. Uh the yeet cannon. They let the internet they let the internet name it. And it's it's got yeet cannon laser engraved on the side, yeet cannon. And I I bought one of those. And they're inexpensive, but but they're reliable as hell, dude. And it's like a shooting a brick, but it there's no recoil. And so I that's my two nine mils, is that and the oh, I didn't even say that.

SPEAKER_06

My cheapest gun is my favorite. I got a Charles Daly 1911. It's my favorite gun. I bought it for next to nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And it shoots so well. The kids like to shoot it. Uh so it's just a well is it a 45?

SPEAKER_01

Yep, 45.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I love it.

SPEAKER_01

So I love it. That's my only 45. But the XD40, Springfield XD40, that was my favorite gun for the longest time because it's just a it's a badass man. It just can shoot. It's accurate as hell.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't like the safety grip. You don't like that? Yeah, I didn't like that.

SPEAKER_05

Like you have to fly pressure.

SPEAKER_01

That was my first gun. That was my first handgun. So I'm so used to that. And my 1911 has one too. Yeah. But I c I was nervous when I went the Hellcat Pro because it didn't have that. So I was like, all right, and it shoots just fine.

SPEAKER_02

But you have a safety on yours, right? The Hellcat Project. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

I also want to uh take that up and get the trigger. It's it's too high, it's too the weight is too high. Yeah, yeah, too stiff. Cody, remember Cody was saying that too about his because he's got a lot of things.

SPEAKER_06

You tend to your shots rise when it's too tight.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I shot, you know, I was I can once I figure out what it's doing, I can compensate for that and make it and make it work. Not compensate, but adjust for that and make it work.

SPEAKER_03

But just do it yourself, man. It's not that hard. I did all my stuff on my gun by myself.

SPEAKER_01

Mine is more of a time versus don't really feel like doing it sort of thing. Now we're getting done. I'll get around to it type deals. Yeah. Like when I clean my guns, I'll put them all out on the table and like just one at a time, let's go, and I'll turn on a movie.

SPEAKER_02

I don't have time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but what kind of shit am I doing with my time? Watching the pit, watching the pit. Watching the pit, bro. Come into Georgia's. There you go, so you know. Right. Watching the pit. Why not change it out on the table on the table?

SPEAKER_02

Why aren't you, you know, messing around with your gun?

SPEAKER_01

Now I wish I could bring my gun up here to clean it and like just be out here. Hey, what's up? Come on in.

SPEAKER_05

They're like, nah, I'm good.

SPEAKER_01

That'd be frowned upon. It's not a pistol yet, right? It's not until you assemble it. It can't hurt you. It can't. It can't hurt you. Unless you throw chuck it at someone, but some of those things get pretty heavy. Yeah. What's your favorite rifle? Well, how about this? AR or AK?

SPEAKER_02

AR. AR.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I like AR.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have an AK.

SPEAKER_02

I like modularity. If you if you can add on stuff on it to make it yours.

SPEAKER_01

Do you have the long rail on yours?

SPEAKER_02

I don't have one. Oh. Yeah. In due time. In due time. Just wait until she's gonna be able to get it. Wait until my wife hits. Yeah, wait until she uh gets to shoot a rifle. Then she'll have a blast. Because you know, you don't really need to be a big thing.

SPEAKER_01

No pun intended. Nicely done.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Uh yeah, she shooting that. I mean, I mean, we could probably take her out and just have her shoot a 22 rifle. Just oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I have a rubber 1022. Yeah. What about Cody's new 22? Oh, he knows. Oh yeah, Cody's gonna be a good one. He's got a Henry, he's got the Henry Golden Boy.

SPEAKER_02

We need to put a red dot on. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, his that put it put a scope on it. That thing was fun to show you. No. Oh no, mine did. My 1022.

SPEAKER_02

Put like a eight cog on it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. On a Henry Golden Boy. On a Henry Golden Boy. But it was I've never shot a lever action. No. I never have. Yeah. And it was just like smooth as can be. Yeah. It was cool.

SPEAKER_02

It was like a carnival game.

SPEAKER_01

And he won that in a raffle.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And that that raffle last year, I won a 6'5 Creedmore, a Mossberg 6'5 Creedmore.

SPEAKER_05

I'm trying to get in on that. Where's that raffle at?

SPEAKER_01

I dude. I bring them here all the time. It's the Shriners. It's the Shriners Raffle. Oh, you do. I'm a Shriner as well. And so yeah, we sell we get them from the Shriners and we uh it's fundraising and stuff.

SPEAKER_06

Don't buy them. Lee seems to always win.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that was last year. I won three raffles. I won the 6'5 Creedmore. I won an AR-12 shotgun, which is an AR-style shotgun. Funny story about that in a second. And then I won a Blackstone grill, like the big one.

SPEAKER_05

And he was like, things are getting a little hotter out here. They're getting on to me.

SPEAKER_01

Like back to back.

SPEAKER_05

They'll never be on to me. All right. Cody, my best friend, you can win now. The year will never be a few years.

SPEAKER_01

The year before that, one of our brothers in the lodge won. And I was like, dude, you won three freaking. He did the same thing, three. And I was like, I never win anything. He's like, me neither, but it just fine. And so then it happened. Three of them. And they're three separate like raffles and stuff. But uh we, you know, we'll we'll have those from time to time. Usually when they're your age, your collusion. But that AR-12, the year before, this guy that that has his FFL, he had found these uh AR-12s, which are like $500 shotguns. I don't know why. Um, but they were on sale for $190. Oh, okay. And so he bought a whole bunch of them and then sold them to a bunch of Masons, you know, as people from Lodge. And so I was like, I'll take them. I'll fuck, I'll buy one. So I bought one. Um, my other buddy bought one, and I was like, hey, uh, at work, I got this Mason, works here, you know. Can he buy one? He's like, last one. And he said he bought it. And so we got this. Then I won the raffle and got the same exact identical shotgun. So now I have uh, you know, two of the same thing. You can never have I could go kick because I have a drum, uh I have a drum, a 20 20 or 25 shell drum. Yeah, but it the thing kicks like a mule, man. It kick there ain't no it, you know, you're gonna be feeling it. You're gonna be feeling it.

SPEAKER_02

Usually when you're uh when you're your age, you're fittuous.

unknown

I was gonna ask if I could have one of yours.

SPEAKER_01

Go for it.

SPEAKER_02

Usually when you're uh when you when they get to your age, you're rigging bingo games, right? But instead you're shooting guns.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, rigging at rigging raffles. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I wouldn't.

SPEAKER_05

That's like one step removed. But I don't, man. In due time. Maybe both.

SPEAKER_02

It'll be a bingo game for a firearm and then I won again.

SPEAKER_01

Weird. I don't run the thing, but I do sell tickets. I mean, it's whoever wants to sell tickets can sell tickets. But yeah, I'll let y'all know the next time we have one of those because uh one of the one of the raffles we do is a 30-day every day in November, uh a gun a day. Wow. And they only sell like it's a finite amount of tickets that they sell. So it's and it's for a good cause. The chances are kind of good. Yeah, and that's the one I won the 6.5 Creed more on. And it's for a good cause because it's you know, when we raise our money, it doesn't go my like it's the shriners that are doing these things. And yeah, well, when we raise money for like the Masons, like say the Freemason Lodge, like the Blue Lodge, we're going out and doing fish fries and stuff. That's for the Oxford home for children. So we're sending all that to the Oxford home for children. We can't even fundraise for our building. Yeah, we can't do that. That has to come out of dues and stuff like that. And our building is old as crap, you know. But but you know, all that the money for us comes out of what we pay in dues and stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and the shriners, they they're primarily like children's hospitals, right? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The Shriner Children's Hospital. So like uh burn units and things like that. And we have what's called uh road runners, where a shriner will volunteer to be a roadrunner, and that means that they they'll take one of the vans and they'll pick up a kid and maybe their mom or dad or whatever, and they'll drive them hours away because they they don't have they can't afford to get there and all this stuff.

SPEAKER_02

I thought that's called kidnapping.

SPEAKER_01

So they'll take them there with their parents. I just said, geez. So anyway, the killer's been on your head the whole time.

SPEAKER_05

I forgot to move it. I forgot to move it over to Roger.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Um on the mystery man.

SPEAKER_02

They didn't see my cowboy. Yeah, maybe they saw my cowboy. They did not.

SPEAKER_01

No, because it was on him. Anyway, so then they'll take them up there, and then they're you know, then it's it's covered, cost is covered and all that stuff. So I just think it's awesome, these guys that are just volunteering their time to to spend a day or two on the road just to take a sick child who can't, you know, otherwise get there on their own.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And make sure it happens.

SPEAKER_02

So that's the stuff you don't think about.

SPEAKER_01

That's my favorite part. Like, I actually have it, you know, I haven't been to as many meetings as I I want to at the Shriners. I love going, but like now with Penny, it's like, you gonna be here? No, I'm not here to watch her. Well, I can't, you know. Yeah. So, but yeah, the the fundraisers are awesome because they're always guns and stuff. The good stuff or motorcycles.

SPEAKER_05

Dang, winning a motorcycle on a raffle would be awesome.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, true. But um, yeah, there's always cool stuff like that. I just have terrible luck when it comes to that. I really do, despite my my winning streak last year. That was the it, that was it.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I get one, but that's one you'd say, oh, it wraps foot.

SPEAKER_01

But like that's a good winning streak. Like three raffles in a row.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah, that internal affairs is starting to look into it at that one. For sure.

SPEAKER_01

I was I was the second one to do that, by the way. Then to win three in a row? No, yeah, last year. Yeah, so IA is the year before. Yeah. The guy, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

IA is definitely all over y'all now. Both people did it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. What the hell is going on? They gotta look at uh at the process, yeah, right?

SPEAKER_01

What they need to do is have an ammo raffle. That's the expensive stuff, you know. Uh your turn. I gotta go to. Oh, okay. Fun times. You got something bladder.

SPEAKER_05

Nah. Trying to find where I put my cigar.

SPEAKER_02

Did you bring it inside?

SPEAKER_05

No. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Five second, five minute rule. Five minute rule. What one day rule?

SPEAKER_05

It's like, how far do I need to extend it to self-justify smoking it? It'll be okay. I've done worse.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So where did you get the gear? Or do you do you usually wear Western wear?

SPEAKER_02

No, so we're uh I'm going to a wedding this weekend out in um Kentucky. Oh, hell yeah. The theme is uh Americana Western 70s. Dude, that's awesome. I had no idea what that was, so I had to Google it and I was like, I mean, I would have. Yeah, I mean, the rest of the stuff I'm like, ah, I couldn't see myself wearing that. What can I put money towards where I might start wearing it? And yeah um came up on the Western stuff, and my uh outfit is not like super western, definitely um gets the Americana theme going. Right.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, the cool thing is it's uh I've always thought this about Western wear is it's kind of almost like dress clothes in a way, it's dressed up a little bit. I mean, it is essentially work wear, but in somewhere that it's not western, it looks like dress clothes. It's not cheap. Hell, so it's like it's priced like dress clothes. Yeah, because I've been to this uh to Country View Western store before, it's in Goldsboro. Shout out to them, they've given me like free stuff through the radio to wear to represent them. But to go in there and buy an outfit, dude, you're gonna spend some money.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And and add a pair of boots in there on top of that, you're you could spend fifteen hundred dollars on just a pair of boots. Yeah, like you could walk out of there 3,000 into in the hole if you get something that you really want and something that's really nice. Or country view western store, either one. That's in Goldsboro. It's like a store. Well, you were talking about boot barn.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. That's where I got my stuff. But yeah, I mean, the purpose of it is for actual like work, ranch life. Yeah, and so the quality's gotta be good, and you know, they're all leather, so if you uh if you treat it nice and you protect it and do all the stuff, yeah, it'll last.

SPEAKER_05

And so I was telling Roger, like the funny thing about Western wear is if you you know not wearing it to work and then you wear it the right way, it's like dress clothes almost. If you put the outfit together, right? It's yeah, the shirts tucked in. You got a nice boot. Yeah, I got a nice pair of boots. Yeah, little snake skins. That's right.

SPEAKER_02

My buddy, the the the one that's she's moving down here, she would go uh she would be on call and wear boots underneath her scrubs. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I don't know about standing on my feet like that long. Yeah, like all day long.

SPEAKER_02

It's psychiatry. We're sitting at a desk, man.

SPEAKER_05

All right, I'll wear boots then.

SPEAKER_01

Well then why are you wearing scrubs too, for that matter?

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's you're in a hospital. Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_01

We have to. Sometimes they might need you to run into a room or something. No, which by the way, I'm getting pretty close to being done. Oh, yeah. We can't talk about that. Ow.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Well, you maybe you can because Ed's not here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but everybody listening might not have seen it. You can't really give away stuff about a show. You're talking about the show. Yeah, yeah, you don't want to give away stuff about a show. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Worst kinds of people, spoiler alerts. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think I kind of spoiled. I should have said spoiler alert with the Superman 2 stuff, but that came out in the I mean, dude, if you haven't seen it by now. Yeah, no kidding. So, what's the rule then for spoiler alerts for shows? One year, shows and TV. Now, you think it's gotta be more than that, man.

SPEAKER_02

You think so? Yeah, because sometimes you don't get to get caught up on stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Five years.

SPEAKER_02

Is it ever okay?

SPEAKER_01

It's not, I don't think. If I'm listening to Time Suck and he starts telling me the premise of a show that I've just started watching, or or can you believe so and so died? I'm like, Yeah, I'm done.

SPEAKER_05

I think I've literally had that happen to me before, like watching a show that was essentially pretty old, and they're like in casual combo. Like, it was super crazy when blah blah blah got offed, and I was like, Yeah, they died, they die, like they're starting to become my favorite character. What do you they they pass away? Yeah, I their role right now where I'm at in the show, they could never die.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_05

What's gonna happen?

SPEAKER_02

It was like Dr. John talking about the pit. And you were like, Can you can you they both do that?

SPEAKER_01

Frank does it too. I swear to God, if I bring up a show to Frank, or if he suggests a show, he I damn near know everything about the show before I even start it. I know the character arches, I know who's gonna be killed. Like Frank, I'm I'm not gonna watch it now, dude. Yeah, and then when I do get into it and them two start talking, yeah, you heard me. Yeah, could we stop, please? I have not seen this. What do they say? Oh, sorry. I'm not telling you. But I'm I'm getting close to being caught up on that show.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but the pit's got great character development and great writing, accurate, and um yeah, I don't know, you get uh emotionally attached. Whether you don't like someone or you really do like someone, or even if you don't like someone, you kind of really don't like them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and now they're really annoying me. Yeah, and where there's no redeeming qualities. That's like you know who I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, I do.

SPEAKER_01

Don't like her. No, don't like her one bit.

SPEAKER_03

No, but you can see where she's coming from, but kind of not.

SPEAKER_01

Kind of not, because okay, give it the give it a rest. Yeah, your bosses have all told you to give it a rest, give it a rest.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, and it's also I mean, we all know people like this. It's just like uh the problem's not me, it's everybody else.

SPEAKER_01

You know, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

The victims, zero accountability, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02

They got the uh main character energy of the victim, which is a crazy combo. It's yeah, because they gotta be the center of everything, but it's not their fault.

SPEAKER_01

But but we we know it people like that. Exactly. That's what I'm saying. Woe is me. Here comes Debbie Downer. You know, it's like, hey, what are you doing this weekend? Well, I was gonna go do this. I don't feel that good, so it's like yeah, it's like imagine that.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know if we talked about this on the show before, where it's like those mentality people are they're drinking, they're always sick, they they never they always are sniffling and coughing, they never feel good, they always got a headache. Something bad always just happened. They're fresh.

SPEAKER_01

Some of that's because like attracts like the more negative crap you invite in, it's it's just gonna be I'm not gonna be.

SPEAKER_05

You don't know like you talk to those people and they're just like sick all the time. They're like, I don't feel good. They're like, yo, hit me up when you feel good. Like you never feel good.

SPEAKER_02

I also do respect them if they are feeling sick and they don't go though. That's because that's like, you know, I appreciate that. But like, you know, the parents who let their kids go to school even though they're sick, and you're just like, come on.

SPEAKER_05

Well, that's different.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And I mean, I I missed my dad did not, like, you had to be re for real sick to stay. Or to order and and like there was a couple times that you know, I mean, maybe I'd miss a day or two a year, you know, we'll have the dentist appointment or something like that. But one of them was from being sick. You get sick, you know. And if I didn't feel good, I'm like, all right, I'll try to go to school, and then you know, all right, I'm in the nurse's office calling my dad to come pick me up. But that's when you get then he would drop me off at home and then go back to work. And you know, you that's when you watch like uh party time scramble porn.

SPEAKER_05

Channel two, the top left corner. You can see something 98, 99.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, you can see something clicking back and forth.

SPEAKER_05

Move move the rabbit ears.

SPEAKER_04

That's hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, unless somebody walks in and then just flipped. It's either that or soap operas, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Like the price is right.

SPEAKER_02

Sunday morning cartoons.

SPEAKER_03

Kids don't know what Saturday morning cartoons. Saturday morning.

SPEAKER_06

And what what what followed Saturday morning cartoons? It was creature feature double feature. My mom's favorite. I don't know that. You never oh man, I've never seen that with Godzilla and old school horror. Yeah, all Japanese uh horror movies or but they were they were a staple in my house on Saturdays. My dad watched MASH.

SPEAKER_02

I think I was confusing Sunday comics.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, Sunday comics, because they come in the Sunday paper. Yeah. Uh Saturday Twitter. Trying to think of the one that I did Funhouse?

SPEAKER_05

No. Not Dilbert. It's another one. Dilbert's Dilbert. Calvin and Hobbes? That's the one that's. That's very funny.

SPEAKER_01

You know what's better than both of those? The far side. Oh, yeah. The far side's a little bit well. I mean, that's not really a newspaper one. That has its own like.

SPEAKER_06

Was it Family Circus was another fun good one, too?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Isn't that what came in the bazooka bubblegum? Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Nice, right? We had cool stuff back then. Yeah. Elastic book fairs? Dude, those were my favorite thing. That was like a federal holiday. I was like, let's go. I'm so excited to go to the book fair, and you get like the order. Like you look through. Right. You get the preview.

SPEAKER_05

You're like, this is coming here in like three days, dude. Yeah. Like, I'm not even gonna lie. I've grew up a pr pr pr pretty spoiled.

SPEAKER_01

So I got like a sorry Ed, I keep doing that.

SPEAKER_05

I got like a good bit of stuff. Like, if I wanted the Ice Spy book, I was like, yo, I'm in there with the Ice Buy book. What's the book? Um The Fish that's got the holographic scales on it. That used to be one of my favorite books.

SPEAKER_02

Uh shit.

SPEAKER_05

You know what I'm talking about, right? Fish with what?

SPEAKER_02

It was a it's a kid's book. Rainbow Fish or Sar.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I don't know what that is. Dude, that was a sick book. And then just like the crazy pens and pencils.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was just gonna say they have other things from books too. They got like a this eraser. Swag.

SPEAKER_06

I'll date myself here, but the Hardy Boys. Dude, I read some Hardy Boys before.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what's her name that wrote that? Oh, Nancy Drew.

SPEAKER_06

Nancy Drew, yep. Beavis no is uh Beatrice or Ramona.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Because that was my judge. Judy B.

SPEAKER_05

Jones. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Judy Bloom. Dang, I haven't heard of that. You haven't heard of that? No. Shell Silverstein, where the sidewalk ends. Yeah, I remember that. Falling up. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Where the sidewalk ends.

SPEAKER_02

The giving is it the giving tree?

SPEAKER_01

The giving tree. The giving tree, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

There's another one called The Giver, I think, with a person that one of my favorite books in middle school or young school was uh George and the Giant Peach. Remember that book? That was a fun book.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't remember it.

SPEAKER_05

It was a good book. Matilda? I read it before I seen it. I read the book before I seen the movie for sure. And then whenever I seen Miss Trunch Bull, I was like, dang, this is exactly how I pictured you. This is crazy. It's crazy how sometimes I get it right when it comes to the book.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, like because you have to come up with it in your in your brain and then roll doll. That's why I don't like I don't like watching or reading a book after I've seen the movie. You know what I mean? Yeah. Because then I already have in my mind what they want me to think of. Yeah. I'd rather watch you know.

SPEAKER_06

That's the cool part of your book.

SPEAKER_01

And then and then you're the annoying person at the when everybody's sitting there watching movies. Well, and then you know, in the book, in the book it didn't happen. You know, the book. Like you get it. You read the book, dude.

SPEAKER_02

That didn't happen in the book. That was that was Harry Potter. This didn't even happen in this in the book, man. Game of Thrones.

SPEAKER_01

Game of Thrones. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm sure Lord of the Rings in some in some way.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But those are some long movies too, bro. Lord of the Rings, goodness. I have never watched all those movies.

SPEAKER_02

My kids just watched the whole thing, including The Hobbit.

SPEAKER_01

We have like the animated one. We started it and we watched Jackson came down, my son came down, and we watched the first one all the way through. And then we started the second one. The second night he was down and we were both falling asleep, you know, so we didn't finish it. But he was like, next time. Like, all right, yes.

SPEAKER_05

It's been so long since I've seen any of them. Like, we could watch the first one, and I would have no idea what happened.

SPEAKER_01

That's how I was. And I kept asking questions. Like, yeah, yeah. And I was like, all right, I'm kind of remembering it a little bit. But not a lot. The precious.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe the first one I would know, but like if it went to the next one, I'd be like, I don't know what's going on now. Yeah. True. At all. My precious. That's pretty good there. Ooh. You should clip that. I do voices.

SPEAKER_06

You hear voices, you don't do voices. I hear voices. You have someone you can talk to. I mean, shut the hell up, man.

SPEAKER_01

Keep it down in there. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06

That's why he doesn't mind being home alone. I said you don't mind being home alone. Oh, he's got a friend. He's got a friend. Like, shut up. No. Yeah. What?

SPEAKER_01

What did you say? Can you imagine being that far gone and you live alone and just in your house, like just talking to yourself all the time?

SPEAKER_05

Well, they don't you're not gone though, right? And and if it's happening to you, you don't feel gone, I'm sure, right? It just is up your life. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's just like it's hard to say. Like you got a roommate that just won't leave and probably just can't see. Or maybe you can. Maybe you can. Usually not both. Right. It's usually one or the other.

SPEAKER_01

An invisible friend. I think I might have to take her real quick.

SPEAKER_02

You want me to take her?

SPEAKER_01

I know. I I'll take her, but I just don't know if she really needs to, because Ben took her.

SPEAKER_06

She's just out there looking.

SPEAKER_01

She's uh surveying. We're talking about Penny Lane. She's my little puppy. Little girl. She's uh the shop mascot.

SPEAKER_05

I always think about that though, like not necessarily mental illness or like just like getting old. Like, do you realize that you're moving super slow or that you can't figure out what channel to turn it to? Yeah. Or is it just like, wow man, this is annoying.

SPEAKER_01

I will say one thing I I've been thinking about lately is I'm always in a hurry all the time to get places to until I get there and then I'm like, all right, relax. But I've gotten to that point where I've made it my thing. I just I have to rush to do it. Like if I'm if I'm going up to the store, I want to get there and get back. I don't want to freaking dilly dally and get behind slow cars and all this crap. I'm not talking about speeding and all that stuff, but when I get into the store, like there's my cart, I'm gonna go to this aisle, I'm gonna go to that island, I'll go to that. That island, check out him and leave. I'm not there to walk around all slow and stand behind people that are slow. And you know, uh, we got somebody inside, but I don't know if Ben's here. Is he here still?

SPEAKER_02

No, he left. Shopping. Um shopping is the mission.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, I'm the opposite, bro. I could go to the grocery store and be like, I'm just trying to get X and Y and Z. Yeah. $200 later, I'm like, dang it, man.

SPEAKER_02

Forget about me going to the grocery store while I'm hungry. Oh, that's uh that's a big no-no.

SPEAKER_05

But I like doing it because it it's almost fun in a way because you're like, oh, it's gonna be a good week.

SPEAKER_06

That's why going to Lowe's is so enjoyable because you can have a beer and walk around. And if you're hungry, you just do they let you walk around with the beer? Yes, yeah, they got cupboarders on the colour.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know if that was for like coffee or something like that.

SPEAKER_06

Well, it can be. It fits.

SPEAKER_05

If the cup fits, yeah, right. Exactly. I tell Nicole all the time, I'm like, man, that's my favorite bar. He's like, you're so silly.

SPEAKER_06

You go there on a Thursday night, it is packed house. It's like a bar at Thursdays.

SPEAKER_05

100%. Three dollar beer, three dollar craft beers. I mean, you can't beat it. You can't beat it. You granted they only serve you two, but I mean, that's in a grocery store. Is that really kind of all you need? That's a date. Exactly. You ready to hit bamboo now? Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You don't need to. You can eat the sushi they got there right there.

SPEAKER_05

We just pre-game the date in the grocery store. This she's like, I'm never fucking hanging out with this guy again. And they you can't even tip them. So it's much cheaper. It's economical. Right. It's definitely. I took you on half price night. We don't even have to go to the restaurant. We can we the options are limitless. We can get the comfort food, we can get a panini, we can get sushi. And they won't take my tip. We're in for 31 chicklings. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Rightly? I didn't even hear the door.

SPEAKER_05

Well, we are all we all got cansed in. We're all locked in.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but you can still kind of hear it. You know what I was gonna do is I was gonna close that door and put the go to the other door. We're the last four today. Did you do that? No, I was gonna. Nice. We was in a hurry. And I went on living my life. See? See what I mean? I was in a hurry. I just gotta get there. You gotta get back to school. Gotta get there quick. Yeah. But then you get, and it's like some, even if I'm just heading up here, I'm like, what am I rushing around the house for? It's just to get there and hang out and get back. And just chill. No, no, if I'm coming up here. Oh, yeah. It's different coming here. It's different coming here, but I'm still like, get out of the way.

SPEAKER_05

But I'm always in a hurry to get here.

SPEAKER_01

Why am I exactly?

SPEAKER_05

Well, that makes sense at least, because everybody wants to get here. Everybody wants to get here. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Are you in less of a rush if you're to listen to like time suck or something like that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh not necessarily, but I am in less of a rush like on the way home. When it's the end of the next mission's complete? Yep, mission complete. Decompression. Yeah, it's decompression time. And then I'll listen to a time suck on the way home.

SPEAKER_05

Do you turn your music down when you get into a parking lot?

SPEAKER_01

I don't listen to music in the parking lot.

SPEAKER_06

It depends on the song. If there's a great song on, you got to sit in the car and let it run its core.

SPEAKER_02

You can turn your music down when you get lost. Yes. That's kind of like where I was going.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely, dude. You gotta put your focus caps on. Yeah. Thinking caps. Turn it. Everybody be quiet. I'm lost.

SPEAKER_04

Turn down for I'm hold on.

SPEAKER_05

I'm uh two hours off my destination now. Because I've been listening to my little bit. But that's real, dude.

SPEAKER_01

People do that. I do that. Like, turn it down. I need to turn it down.

SPEAKER_02

Turn it, turn it down so I can see you better.

SPEAKER_01

I gotta think. No, but that's that's good. So uh what did you guys talk about while I was going? We were talking about. Quit talking about meass holes.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, we can't really say.

SPEAKER_02

We were talking about Lowe's and walking around with beers.

SPEAKER_06

What a cool place to go to Lowe's and take a date.

SPEAKER_01

Sounds weird when they're on backwards, huh? No, I can tell because this goes on my left side, not the right side.

SPEAKER_02

I was telling Jess and the girls at the flower shop on Valentine's Day. I was telling them I was like, yeah, I'm gonna take her out to uh to to go grab some uh late lunch, early dinner at a exclusive place. Got a very limited menu. It's membership only and then it was uh Sam's Club. Let's go. There you go.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go. That's what I'm talking about. You give her the foot long hot dog. Members only.

SPEAKER_05

Members only, man. This is come on, don't play with him. It's exclusive.

SPEAKER_01

Now I'm paranoid that I'm gonna have a customer there and not see the door.

SPEAKER_05

I'm sure they'll poke their head out and be like, hey, asshole, can I buy a cigar?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true. Y'all open? Read the room, dude. Is anybody in there? No, I'm just kidding, we're always open. Uh and that and that to speak on that, people get uh they're weirded out because this place, when they come down to Swansburg and you see Georgia Cigars for the first time, it looks like a house. Yeah, yeah. It's just a house with a carport. Essentially it is. It is, but it's a commercial, you know, it's a business. It's not nobody lives here. It's a house, it's a house, but it was converted into a business.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean, all the buildings here houses that can be.

SPEAKER_01

But it's funny because they'll all come up like, y'all open? Yeah. Like if we're just sitting around, not even just doing this. Yeah. If we're sitting around smoking, they're like, Yeah, we're like, Yeah, come on in. Because they think it's like some exclusive club or it's just we're it's our house and we're hanging out at.

SPEAKER_06

They definitely can be intimidating first walking up if you haven't been here before.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't think we make it that way because every one of us is always like, Yeah, come on in. Hey, smoke with us. Here's my cutter, here's my lighter.

SPEAKER_06

They feel like they're interrupting the conversation around the table, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but we're always very quick to tell them, please come on. And even when we're doing the podcast, come on in because that's they're always confused on which door to come through.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's because we have a gate up. We have a gate uh a cot on its side so that Penny can't the doggy door. She could easily jump over. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

She could easily get out, but she can step over my friend came down to Swansboro for the first time, and she was like, I'm surprised I've never been because she moved down here the same time I did, roughly like nine months ago. And she was like, I you know, heard about Swansboro, but she came down here, they went and ate out uh Boro, and then they went on uh you know the little boat thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the uh I can't remember. Lady Swan, Lady or Lady Lady of the Mist. That's Niagara Falls.

SPEAKER_02

The the names we were talking about. Swansboro, the restaurants.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, tell the story.

SPEAKER_02

So we were sitting around, we were talking about the uh Italian restaurant uh down there off of um did we already talk about this?

SPEAKER_05

Did we?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Tell it anyway.

SPEAKER_05

I don't think so, because I don't know where you're going with this.

SPEAKER_02

Off of West Corbett, the the Italian restaurant. For the longest time I was pronouncing it uh Il Cigno, maybe.

SPEAKER_05

I still call it that because I'm lazy, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So do you so they own Boro as well? Yeah, so they're uh ISIS house group or something like that. So you know what Il Cino means in Italian, the swan. Wow, so they own the swan and the borough swans were in play on words there, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, mine is loan, uh sweet adventures. Little play on words there. I see what you did there.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. You got a lot of great companies down here.

SPEAKER_05

Well, my daddy and Candy Adventures.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Well, we have three Eds in the family. So life and my grandma, um my grandmother, and my mom, and my wife Obala said life's an adventure, so hey, the name fit. So that's how we're gonna do it.

SPEAKER_05

It's easy work there at that point.

SPEAKER_06

Yep. It eddy. Jess gets mad at me though, because everybody says, Is Ed here? And she's like, I run the candy store, not him. So that's true. Just candy Jess Venster didn't have the same kind of thing. It doesn't hit the same. That's true.

SPEAKER_02

I we I gotta go into Bloomin' and ask, is Ed here? Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah. She gets offended pretty easily about that. Which he doesn't run it.

SPEAKER_02

He didn't work for me. Yeah, he's outside cutting the grass right now. At the one time I went in there, you were working, so you know you're batting a thousand right now.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, that's perfect. Just give me a 20-minute heads up. Oh, next time we're going.

SPEAKER_05

She was like, Wow, yeah, he's here. Hold on a second.

SPEAKER_02

He's he's right back. He's in the back doing nothing as usual. I'm sure I'm not gonna be able to do that.

SPEAKER_01

When I went in there last, he was working on those trains up at the top. You remember that?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I got the trains running. The kids get a little disappointed when they don't see the trains go around. So those are pretty cool. Yeah, the trains are definitely uh we're looking to add on to them.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah. Uh what do they do? They just I can't remember you said they do something different. Checker, checker, checker, checker, checker, checker. Well, no, I mean, are they wire? They're not wireless.

SPEAKER_06

They uh No, no. We were we're gonna add a button so the kids can press the button on the wall and make the train go around and stuff, but that's in a project down the road. Yeah, I can't remember what we're doing. We're always adding new things, so oh I know, man.

SPEAKER_01

That outside. Well, outside time's coming again.

SPEAKER_06

I'm getting ready to do uh new epoxy floors inside, so we're we've ordered the epoxy. It should be here probably in the next couple weeks. Uh doing it yourself, you've been doing some epoxy floors, haven't you? I didn't realize I was in the epoxy business, but I've done three garages in the last month and they turned out nice. They look good. I'm pretty happy.

SPEAKER_02

You do it once, and now everybody's asking you to do their floors.

SPEAKER_06

Well, it's crazy what they want for square foot when you can do it yourself. Yeah, $13 a square foot, and I did it for less than half that. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So you guys do like froyo or ice cream?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we have a uh homemade ice cream. Awesome. Yep, yep. Uh Chuck's famous ice cream, they're out of Southport. Right on. So the small mom and pop uh operation, and it's a very good ice cream. It's not uh it's uh very creamy. They use a lot of uh butter fat in it and stuff. So it's uh smoother ice cream. I like that. And it's homemade local, so it's kind of nice. You know, give the other small, you know, support small support in local business. Yeah, you're not going that and I'm sure they appreciate it too. Oh yeah, yeah. They're a sweet guy. She's going duck diving.

SPEAKER_02

Duck hunting. Duck hunt, the video game. She's the duck diving.

SPEAKER_05

She said, Oh, duck. Dog whisperer. Lee Melon.

SPEAKER_01

She'll get obsessed and she won't stop. She'll stay right there and I can't just stand over there with her. She wants to go play with him. I know she does. I can won't bite them all that much.

SPEAKER_05

And by play, we mean dismantle completely. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You're moving pretty limber for uh somebody with a heart.

SPEAKER_01

It's doing much, much better. Well, I've been doing stretches every freaking day. It's getting better every day, but it's still like there. I couldn't swing a club to save my life. The day that you went shooting, it was seasonal. It was almost good. No, no, no. It was almost good, but I I can't just stand up the whole time. They have benches there, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the little stools to sit down on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know the rifle side day.

SPEAKER_02

Do you play golf? No, I did go to High Tides over in um Surf City. Is that the new place that they have? I think it's within the last like year.

SPEAKER_05

The Bolin Alley and it's like the Mag Daddies of down there, basically.

SPEAKER_02

It's much fancier looking. Yeah, it's like they got the whole restaurant on it. Yeah. And they have the whole golf simulator in there. And yeah, I gotta work on because that shit was either I'm missing it and I'm throwing out my back. Because it's different when you make impact, you know, you're not like overly, you know, hurting yourself. But if you're swinging away, nothing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's just like it's a dirty four-letter word that game. Oh you love to hate golf.

SPEAKER_06

I promise you that it's always that one hole or that one hit that just keeps you coming back.

SPEAKER_05

Like Roger just said, it's like you make that contact in the center of that club face, you're like, oh, I need more of that. I need to get that again.

SPEAKER_06

It has a fun sound when you hit it right. Right.

SPEAKER_05

And it's not like you know how like when you hit a baseball uh on the like towards the handle and it's like ah shit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like same thing happens when you miss it on a golf club, but when you hit the it's like on a baseball bat, when you hit the sweet spot, it just feels soft and the ball just nothing like it.

SPEAKER_02

I gotta get some tips from you guys, and then we'll go over to golf and dolphin.

SPEAKER_05

We got some balls, dude. So they have like the screens over there now at Mac Daddy's upgrades. You could just like play a course. Yeah. And it's not even time-based, which is insane. You could just get the super jumbo bucket of balls and like play Tory Pines virtually. It's it's freaking awesome, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we'll have to do that because I need some tips. Because I ain't, you know, I'm less than less than 25% of the time I'm hitting the ball.

SPEAKER_05

It's just repetition and a lot of slowing down, not trying to hit it hard. Yeah, I need some direction. It's hard to not want to hit it hard though, because you're like, I want it to go far, but it's it's counterintuitive. Like the smoother you swing, and if you just hit the center of that club, it's gonna go. You don't have to muscle through it. You do not. Your body in your mind tells you otherwise. You're you need to kill this, you need to have blood squirting out of your eyes. But it just doesn't work that way.

SPEAKER_02

I I need that guidance.

SPEAKER_05

With the duck in her mouth.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_05

Oh man, Lee got it. That's awesome. Because me and Roger were saying it. I love that game. The freaking gray and orange pistol. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It was a shotgun. It was a shotgun. That was like the first room we had the video game.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the little gray.

SPEAKER_06

Nintendo, then you had the robot.

SPEAKER_01

The glove. I had the glove. I had the power glove. The power glove. I had that. It sucked so bad. It was so stupid. Well, it's a little before it's time. Yeah, it was dumb, dude.

SPEAKER_02

I used to play Time Crisis on the Dreamcast.

SPEAKER_05

I loved that game. That's the one system I didn't have, but a buddy of mine had it, and I would be like, dude, let's play Time Crisis. No, I don't want to play Crazy Taxi. No, I don't want to play Sonic. Let's play Time Classics. We're on Time Crisis. Let's get down to Brass Tax here.

SPEAKER_01

Well, they have that in a lot of the arcades too. Isn't that where you step on the pedal to get out of the game? Yeah. That wasn't good. Continue.

SPEAKER_02

She's she's Yeah, spend your whole card or you know, roll of coins just on that game.

SPEAKER_01

We used to go to uh Aladdin's Castle in Lynnhaven Mall when I was a kid.

SPEAKER_05

They had one in the Newburn Mall back in when it was like a real mall in New Bern. Now it's like a Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They got rid of the second story, man, in Lynn Haven Mall.

SPEAKER_06

I was so disappointed my brother-in-law has uh Galaxy. You've played that game, I'm sure, right? Or Galaga. Yeah, yeah. So he had a video game, a real one. And we put we sat up and drank until one in the morning trying to end the game or see what happens. And we played this thing for like six hours straight. And you get to the end, and it's so disappointing it just reset and started it all back to level one. I was like, You gotta be kidding me. There's nothing. Right. I got like blood, sweat, and tears invested in this. Oh, we both looked at each other and it's like, all right, that's it. I guess we go to bed now.

SPEAKER_02

They just they just re-released uh GoldenEye. Oh yeah, like with new graphics and stuff. It was the old graphics, but you know, re-release it so you could play it again and do multiplayer play as uh Well, they have all these these um what do they call those things?

SPEAKER_01

The emulators? Yeah, you know, they even sell the little little tiny miniature Nintendo, but it has like hundreds of games on it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I want to get one of those.

SPEAKER_01

I have one.

SPEAKER_05

It doesn't have all the games, but it doesn't play like exactly the same either, does it? It's a little different. Well, I mean, not like to be a snob, but I'm just asking. It's not the exact same game.

SPEAKER_01

From what I could the only games I'm playing are like Excite Bike and Super Mario Bros. True. And those do players.

SPEAKER_05

I have an SES, I have a Super Nintendo plugged in at home like currently right now. So no way.

SPEAKER_01

I think I have an S3.

SPEAKER_05

I don't have that. I got Star Fox in right now. Yeah. Star Fox, Super Mario Bros. I have uh Super Mario All-Stars, which is like four games in one game. It's got like two, three, and four on it.

SPEAKER_01

My fate, like I Nintendo, like the regular NES system was my favorite. Like the big cartridge. Yeah, yeah. You gotta blow one. Ninja Gaden. Ninja Gaden was awesome. Contra was good.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, back then, you know, you couldn't reset the game.

SPEAKER_01

Battletoads, Contra, Super Contra. Yeah, man. Uh California Gaming was cool. You could hacky sack. You know, I never played that. They had like RC eraser. You remember that one where you had to you like driving your RCA car around the thing?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, is that the one where like in the arcade they'd have the steering wheels and the gas pedal, and it's like trucks or like jumping and stuff.

SPEAKER_06

You ever play Zelda? Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The Legend of Zelda. The Legend of Zelda was like Oh, yeah, that was a good one. That's time for it talks about gone. That was fun.

SPEAKER_02

They uh talked about they're gonna re-release, or I don't know, they didn't confirm it, but there was a rumor going around that they were going to release uh Ocarina of Time. Again, yeah, but like with the new graphics, new engine, and all that stuff. That would be insane. It's uh it's a Zelda game. It was on the Nintendo 64. I guess. And that was like arguably one of like the best ones, and uh they're gonna re-release it. Or I somebody said that they were going to re-release it, then the company was like getting super upset that somebody was saying it, which means that it's true. That means it got leaked. Yeah, that means it got leaked. And so what would it come out on? A Switch? Probably switch.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, is that yeah, I guess that's their new. Because it's Nintendo exclusive.

SPEAKER_05

It would have to be the Switch, which I'd be so mad because I'm like, man, just drop that thing on PS5, just sell the rights, just do it. You'd make they'd make so much money, dude. They would make so much, but I guess it might be like a game engine thing, even. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's what I would think.

SPEAKER_01

So I only like the NES. I tried all these other things, and I'm like, I, you know, I don't like the stupid controller, that stupid controller, and plus I'm not a video gamer, right? But over the years, now we got like a PS, you know, over the years I'll play certain games, like for the PS2 or one or something, it was like Crash Bandicoot, which was awesome. This is their early 2000s, you know. And then for the PS4, just cause three and Far Cry Five were my favorite favorite games. I love it. Open worlds, man.

SPEAKER_02

Did you guys ever play Final Fantasy? Yes, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Final Fantasy VIII, yeah. Seven and nine were my favorite ones.

SPEAKER_01

But then, so my my son's trying to get me to get a PS5, and he's like, but get a PS5, dude. I'm like Jackson, I'm not a gamer, I don't play games, but I'll tell you what I would get if I was gonna get one of those systems is a meta quest three. Because now I can watch movies on a giant on that whole wall is my move, is my is my screen.

SPEAKER_05

Well, what do you have now?

SPEAKER_01

A meta quest three. Oh, yeah, yeah. Two of them. Let me borrow one. I have a PS4 also. But I don't ever really play it. Can I rent it from you? You could try it out. My nephews play it, so like, yeah, you can try it out anytime. Hell, I'll bring one here and you can try it out.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I just wanted to try it here.

SPEAKER_01

I got one in my truck, I think. But uh, it's dope. Yeah, I want to try it. I'll have you do the plank game where you put it on and you're in an elevator, but you see us in front of you until the doors close, and now you're just in this elevator and you're going up and you see outside the crack, like you see all these skyscrapers and stuff like that, and then you're at the top of whatever skyscraper and the new one they got big.

SPEAKER_05

Do you get to pick?

SPEAKER_01

I no, I don't know. I have no idea really, but the new one the new one is Big Ben in London, you know, the big clock, and there's a plank. As soon as the door opens, there's a plank, and you're way up there, and you gotta walk out on that plank. There's a helicopter flying by. I'm like, it it looks what happens if you fall off? Then you fall, and you and you're like falling.

SPEAKER_05

And then what happens if you fall?

SPEAKER_01

You feel the feeling, dude. You restart and you just restart. What do you think it's gonna knock you down or something?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you get that you get shocked in your head, like you get that little bit of like you know, your heart's pizza.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you definitely could tell you fell off something.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely get that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, try the roller coaster ride, that'll get you.

SPEAKER_01

You were saying, because then Ed got one. He you have the Quest 3S, right?

SPEAKER_06

Dude, yo, I wanted to try this.

SPEAKER_01

And so people, um, you're you're fine.

SPEAKER_06

I had some friends come over, and we were drinking and having a good time, and everybody tried it. And I tell you, it was like people people had to take that that you know the screen off their head just because they were getting like motion sickness.

SPEAKER_01

Well, if you're not used to it, you want to kind of ease your way into it, and yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_06

I tried to take I tried that flight game simulator that you showed me, and I was like, Man, give me off this thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, which one? The helicopter. They're hard to fly, man. It's like if you don't know what you're doing, fly a jet, fly a plane or something.

SPEAKER_02

Helicopters are like I try to take some of the skills I was using from the golf plus game that's on on there because I was you know practicing my swing on that. You're like translate that to the to real life, and it was like, nope.

SPEAKER_01

I bet they have because there's a there's a there's a club. There's a club attached to like an extension. I have that. Yeah, it's in my bag right now. I have that. I have that golf club for golf plus. It's great, it's an awesome game. You have to play that, it's great. But you know what they probably also have or need to have for like if you want to practice as a doctor, you could like practice surgery or whatever. They have an anatomy, a human anatomy app where you can just pick up and then you it make it bigger, and there's all these different details and all that kind of stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So a big part of that is like you need like the tactile feel.

SPEAKER_05

She's like, What in the hell?

SPEAKER_02

Oh you need the tactile feel if you're like doing surgery or something like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Like the old game operation.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like there's got to be some sort of force feedback on a certain level.

SPEAKER_02

Well, they also have the ace VR, which is like um I mean they have it, they have it in the different models of guns too. So if you primarily shoot, you know, oh I think I've seen that, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I think I have seen that actually. And so you're shooting like steel targets. I've seen that. Have you seen the full uh thing where it's like you know, you could buy like the full race sim where it's like hydraulic and everything? Yeah. Well, well, it relates to that level of this. Like you have a pack on and you got the goggles on, and there's a treadmill under your feet, and you're walking around, like you're actually moving and stuff.

SPEAKER_02

I've seen that where you're like kind of like latched in, and then I saw the guy. The guy was like freaking out, and you just see him like full-on sprinting because it's like a track, but you you're you're in slippery socks, so you can run on that thing, and that guy was like, ah!

SPEAKER_03

He turned and just like was full on sprint away from full-on sprinting.

SPEAKER_05

Uh it's like you're not getting out of this, bro. Like you're harnessed in.

SPEAKER_01

Well, do you do you remember uh for NES? I hate to go back to that, the power pad.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it for track and field, you'd run on it and then jump. But then what do you end up doing?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You're doing it with your hands.

SPEAKER_05

Did you ever get into DDR? Oh, yes. I had the plug-in PS1 pad. What's that? Dance Dance Revolution.

SPEAKER_01

No, but do you remember the movie Grandma's Boy?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You remember when uh they challenged old boy to this new game, Dance Dance Revolution. They think he's gonna kill him. And he whips their ass.

SPEAKER_05

He was I like um what's high score mean?

SPEAKER_01

Did I break it? Did I break the what's high score mean? Is that good?

SPEAKER_05

He's like, Yeah, it should be totally cool, man. I just gotta ask my roommates. It's his parents.

SPEAKER_01

My roommates are getting me new rims for it. His car bed. It's a fantastic movie. It's a Happy Madison movie if you haven't seen it.

SPEAKER_05

Is that Nick Schwartzon?

SPEAKER_01

I don't remember his name. Oh, yeah, the him, yeah. Nick something. Yeah. But the main character is the guy that he's in all the you know Adam Sandler movies and stuff. Very, very funny movie. Hilarious movie.

SPEAKER_05

Don't clip that, by the way, because that's that's flameable right there. Like, who is that? They're like, damn, you don't know who's in grandma's.

SPEAKER_01

I thought it was Schwartzman Schwartzman or something.

SPEAKER_05

Nick Schwartzon.

SPEAKER_01

Schwartzon? Yeah. I can't remember. But I know he's in a million things, you know, he's in freaking everything.

SPEAKER_05

They had a clip of him like not too long ago, and he was at his stand-up set, like belligerent. Drunk and like yeah, couldn't even perform. Like they took him off the stage, like, hey, buddy, come over here. Yeah. Go ahead and come off the stage now. That's and people were like booing him off the stage because he couldn't, he was like, like, literally could not tolerate.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I saw it's cringy. I can't watch it. I was watching, I was like, damn, I hate watching people's careers. I don't want it's like the Michael Richards clip. I don't I don't like watching it.

SPEAKER_02

I hate it, but I can't stop watching like a car wreck.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_06

Speaking of car wrecks, Tiger Woods.

SPEAKER_01

Oh have you seen the video? Career end. I saw the video of it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, sorry, I was getting off the phone with the president.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you did what, dude? Like for real, that's your Did you see his sobriety test?

SPEAKER_06

He looked a little rough. Yeah. He did. He definitely was under the influence of something. Is he suing now?

SPEAKER_02

I no, there was like a a victim that's apparently suing.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what victim, because it was a single saw something where he said he's gonna sue because they released all this, you know, uh degrading things that you know all this crap. Don't drink and drive or drugs and drive.

SPEAKER_02

Foya, you you have to release it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So what are you gonna do? Not sorry, celebrity. Quit breaking the law, asshole.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And I don't even think it was I don't know if it was alcohol. I don't think so either. They said it was like biketin. Yeah. Yeah. He did say he's taking a break from golfing to go to rehab and do all that stuff, which is good on the city.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's nice after your second car flip. I'm glad you took the time finally to flip flip car twice. Now, if any non-celebrity were to do that once, we would have been in jail. Yeah, you're in jail. And then twice, you're in jail for a long time.

SPEAKER_03

You have that guy over here. He was uh caught DUI. He was going to nine.

SPEAKER_01

I saw that 93 to 35 right here in Swansboro. Yeah. That was yesterday, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That's one.

SPEAKER_01

93. 93. So Swansboro, well, from the food line all the way through past Cape into Cape Carteret. Pretty far, past the school, is 35. Used to be 45. They changed it to 35 years and years and years ago. This dude's doing 93 on you know, under the influence. He was in a hurry. See, that's what's gonna get me, dude.

SPEAKER_02

As long as he was in the left lane, it's all right.

SPEAKER_01

And you're right. I'd be behind it then. I'd be like, hey, we just pass him by somewhere. Yeah. You got me while you out there. Let me let me move over for a minute. You didn't say how fast I need to go to pass him.

SPEAKER_06

He was in a hurry for the Easter egg hunt.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But yeah, 93 and a 35, dude. Yeah. I think he might go to jail. Thanks, Penny. Sorry. You're just a delight. Yeah, she wants to go jump that fence.

SPEAKER_05

That's why I'm in the I'm over here like blasting the mic into Roger's face trying to Oh, I didn't sit there.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't even pay attention to that. I was watching Penny, you know, chase that duck.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's so she's chasing ducks right now, and we don't have any other friends around to help.

SPEAKER_05

The funniest thing about the Tiger Woods thing was like, he's like, yeah, just rear-ended somebody, and it's like, bro, your car's flipped up on its side. How does that work?

SPEAKER_01

I didn't see that part. Did he say that?

SPEAKER_05

There was a car flipped up on its side. Yeah, no, no, no, I didn't see the part where he said I just rear ended it. But it was like they're like somebody reporting it was like, yeah, he rear-ended someone, and then this was before the footage came out, and then it came out, and I was like, This you m you're a Tiger Woods fan, which so am I, but it's like you definitely not try to see.

SPEAKER_01

I am too, but that shit's diminished so far, like it's like I can't, you know, endorse somebody that's of course I love how talented he's gonna be. He's going through something, bro. I mean, fame in an early age does that, but well, also he is in pain.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure.

SPEAKER_05

He's had like lazy surgeries and bicentennial man, essentially. He's got the rods at his back and his legs, and yeah. My thing was dude, just pay someone to drive you around. Right? Right. It's not like you have You're a freaking billionaire, essentially.

SPEAKER_06

So we looked it up, it was like 1.5 billion, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, 1.5 billion, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You can't afford a driver, just get someone to drive you, man.

SPEAKER_05

That's like one point. But I'm sure that it's uh that's its own hassle in itself because you got to have somebody available, but still you can afford to have somebody on call 24-7.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. You you don't even need they don't even need to be on call, just have them sit there as your like personal assistant. Yeah, and just drive you around.

SPEAKER_05

Take me around.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, give them an office. There's your office. I'll call you when I need you. All right, hey, we're going somewhere.

SPEAKER_05

I'm leaving the golf course. Come pick me up. Let's go, Jeeves. I'll have a drink while I wait for you to get here. And I'm calling you Jeeves. And bring my pills.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You driving. You driving. What if that happened though, and like he had a completely sober DD, but then some freak accident happened and they got on the third like flip over thing, but he's like he's not even driving.

SPEAKER_05

Fool me once. Maybe you should just start riding a bike or taking public transit.

SPEAKER_01

Brother, I don't think you should be driving anymore behind the in a don't even get in a vehicle, bro.

SPEAKER_02

You just get to drive a car with the lower lower center of gravity so you don't float.

SPEAKER_05

Your actual vehicle's a golf cart now, forever.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe he'd be the first one to get a Joby.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe he'll be like the Marines that are on base that get DUIs and they gotta be on mopeds, the little scooters.

SPEAKER_06

Liquor or whatever, what are they and spit that out? What? What do we do? Liquor sickle.

SPEAKER_05

I was literally one second away from smiling and nodding and acting like I knew what you said. Like, heck yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like just train training kicked in, and you're like, uh oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It was like when he was saying, like, you ever seen somebody have you ever seen somebody drunk and at a stoplight when when the light's green? I was like, Yeah, yeah, you're right. I was like, wait a minute. No, no, no, no, no. Like, remember we were talking about he was like talking about people that are either high on weed or drunk. Yep. And you were like, Yeah, you've never seen somebody at a at a stop sign. Oh, and I said that's drunk and like just sitting at the light for too long. I was like, Yeah, you're right. I was like, wait a minute, no, you're right, no, you're not right.

SPEAKER_05

That's how you know they're drunk.

SPEAKER_02

That's like 80% of DUIs. Blindly agree, and it's just like, wait a second.

SPEAKER_05

You just have to phrase it in a way that makes it sound and and say it with confidence.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And then we've definitely gone to the moon, duh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, don't get lee started. Did that hurt?

SPEAKER_01

I saw a video today.

SPEAKER_02

We just gotta get the lady that went up that's from uh Hubert Swansboro.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she's from no, she's from Jacksonville. Oh, for real? Yeah, I didn't know that. Yeah, we got it. Well, look, we joke around about Koch, right? You gotta make a note about that because I'm talking about that on it's like Melissa or Christina Koch or something. It's Koch, K-O-C-H. Look that up. Are you?

SPEAKER_02

I'm sorry, we don't have to note for that'll be our next guest. I think it's Christina so that Lee can debate uh no no no. Well, speaking of her, did you really go to the like do you have pictures? Like speaking of where's your Ray Ban Meadows? Hold on, hold on.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not gonna believe it unless you're yeah, it is Christina Koch, and she's from Jacksonville. I think that's cool as crap. Yeah, that is pretty cool. Went to NC St. Went to White Oak High School and then went to NC State and became an engineer. And um funny thing about her, I I was watching one of the Artemis 2 videos that they released, and like they they zoom in it, she's holding this, she's like, there's this ball floating right in front of her leg, right in front of her knee. And you can see her the shadow of her hands every time she reaches for it on her knee. But when she moves it and that ball is in the same spot her hands were with no shadow, so it has no shadow at all. And it's like, Oh, you guys forgot to do that. Somebody's getting fired. Somebody's getting fired for not adding the shadow in. Oh, that's the video you sent me.

SPEAKER_02

That's all that's that's what happens when ChatGPT just starts uh you know editing stuff.

SPEAKER_01

The strings hanging from the balls and they gotta quit letting AI edit their videos, I think. If I'm just kidding, we everything we talk about is just jokes. Please don't unalive us. We're just kidding.

SPEAKER_05

We don't want to go host down on the video.

SPEAKER_02

If they unalive us, then you know that we were right.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. This is the disclaimer. No, but everything obviously everything on this show is should be taken lightly. It's like when you start a uh like a woodworking videos. It's like, hey, this is not meant for instruction, this is or not woodworking, uh, gun videos. This is not an instructional video. This is just what you know, it's for entertainment purposes only.

SPEAKER_05

It's a review, my review, not the words of the company.

SPEAKER_01

And then you'll get somebody like you're only saying, you're gonna get the little little Karen's. I love it. It's so cute. Little keyboard warriors.

SPEAKER_02

You feel like uh gun culture is kind of like uh like car culture back in our day as adults? Um I feel like the people that were into cars are now into like firearms.

SPEAKER_05

I I know a few folks that that relates to. I kind of been in it again since I've been in the Marine.

SPEAKER_02

I love the cars. And but kids don't do that nowadays. They're not getting it.

SPEAKER_01

Some of them do. Some of them do. I saw some kids across the street from Cody's place, like it wasn't their car, I'm sure they were washing it, but they were like putting some work in some teenagers putting some work into this car, and I was like, man, that's kind of cool. I don't see that much anywhere anymore.

SPEAKER_02

Cars used to be like the the talking point. It was like the vessel when there's like cigars distractions, right?

SPEAKER_01

The shoulder's gonna be killing anymore, dude.

SPEAKER_06

Holding back a horse here. Whoa.

SPEAKER_02

Whatever it is that you tie her off to, you better go. Nothing is.

SPEAKER_01

The only thing is is that rail right there, and she'll pull that out of the ground.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I was gonna say that and then I didn't even say it because I was like, that's not gonna exist anymore.

SPEAKER_02

I thought about the like the wood for the windowsill, and I was like, nope, that's gonna rip off.

SPEAKER_05

Window down.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

unknown

There's nothing out there.

SPEAKER_02

No. Where's the other dog? Maybe she sees things that aren't there.

SPEAKER_05

She should have a session.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Tell tell me how you feel. Right.

SPEAKER_06

No stress on Lee's face right now. What are you what are you saying?

SPEAKER_02

Say it in your own words.

SPEAKER_05

It turned into like a gloomy day-ish, kinda.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the weather's been dude.

SPEAKER_05

It rained its ass off yesterday. Oh, last night it was. That steak which you brought last week was banging.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That was on point. Yeah. Banging, banging.

SPEAKER_02

Have to get back out on the grill. I want to cook on a grill.

SPEAKER_05

I want to cook on the grill soon. My uh future wife's parents gave us a grill, just a cheap one. They got a good deal on it. It was marked down from like $350 to like $100. They're like, we had to buy it, so we bought two, so we're just gonna give you one. There's nothing wrong with a new grill. Nope. Take a new grill all day. So then we had a cookout like uh in the middle of March from my birthday, and her brother's birthday is on the I want to say the 10th, I think maybe. So it's right there at the same time. So we had a cookout at our house of like just her parents and my parents came over and cooked some burgers. Yeah. Doing some dual grill action. I felt like a real man. I was like, um, I've achieved status now that I'm the one that's gotta be like on the grill holding her down. Yeah. It's a rite of passage. I went up there to Lowe's, I bought a car heart apron. I was all good to go. I was like, let's go.

SPEAKER_06

Lee's over to building a fort.

SPEAKER_05

We have to upgrade the facilities now. She's old enough to outsmart us.

SPEAKER_01

No, she's just freaking out over every little thing right now because she's gonna be. I promise this never happens. Oh, I don't care. Well, I'm right by this window, though. I wish I would have gotten my sweater out of the chuck.

SPEAKER_05

I was just telling them it kind of turned into a gloomy day out there. That's okay. I did it okay. Rain makes corn. She'll feel it's all right. Corn makes whiskey. There you go. Throw that cowboy hat on.

SPEAKER_02

Speaking of whiskey, I'm looking forward to going out to Louisville. Oh, you're gonna be in the Mecca, bro. Dude, I got it planned out. You're gonna do a tour? Huh? Is this the wedding? We're flying, but I got a check bag. Is this the wedding?

SPEAKER_06

You'll need a check bag for all the loot you bring back.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We'll see. I'm gonna try to keep it tame. But I'm visiting four distilleries at this point. Oh, nice. Uh so I'll be visiting uh Micter's, Old Forester, Heaven Hill, and then Glens Creek. And then all these restaurants and bars along the way, liquor stores.

SPEAKER_05

Is that where Dakota went? Where? Kentucky.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he went to the city. Oh, no, I was gonna look now. Yeah. Well, I'm not where he's at right now. When I mentioned the Blend's Gold in the chat, he was like, oh shit. So I I never uh got to meet Dakota, but when he comes back, you know, he's got a lot of things.

SPEAKER_01

I bet Dakota feels like he knows you already because he listens to the show from where he's at right now.

SPEAKER_02

You guys will get along good. He's he's he's got an open open key to my whiskey cabinet.

SPEAKER_01

So he's cool, and he's got one too, so yeah, he's got quite a selection. Yeah. And and uh he'll be back soon, hopefully. There's a lot of crap going on over there right now. There's a lot of stuff going on in the world. Everywhere. Yeah, dude. Yeah, damn. And we try to stay away from those topics so we don't uh you know get cancelled or something.

SPEAKER_05

Or just ruffle any feathers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And that's fine. Like, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers. We just want to talk about stupid stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Fun stuff, like you talk about at a cigar shop.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, and what our friends are doing, you know, within within what we can say.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, as far as exactly. And that's why I'm like trying to dance around it because I don't know what I can say. So I'm like, all right, well, you know.

SPEAKER_05

He's having a blast.

SPEAKER_02

Let's just leave it at that. He'll get a warm welcoming party when he comes back.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, he knows he's got that. And I'm sure he's ready to get back here. Just like all our friends when they deploy, you're ready to get back to the uh the group. I'm just making sure she doesn't know she can jump over that.

SPEAKER_05

There's a window there. Yeah, it's a wide open window.

SPEAKER_01

Boy, Penny's really starting to, she's like, All right, you want to have your podcast and not have somewhere for me to hang out with it. Fine. Okay, Dad. Yeah, she has me trained.

SPEAKER_05

This George's cigar is excellent day. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

This one, what is this, the Gordo?

SPEAKER_01

Mine's the Avo.

SPEAKER_02

What's your uh this is the George's, but it's the uh biggest.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's the yeah, it's it's so it's the same as the torpedo, it's just a different roll, you know, a different size. I like them thicker. I kind of want to try it out. It's a different ring age, things like that.

SPEAKER_05

I don't think I've ever really had maybe once or twice.

SPEAKER_02

Fantastic. It's always got a good draw on it because it's my guess is probably 56.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um it's a good smoke. I had that before I had this one. But it's it's the same smoke as the torpedo. I just prefer the box press torpedo because I'm so used to it now. Yeah. So that's a longer smoke, I think, because it's more tobacco. It's a little bit more than a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Well, uh no, I think that the the You think they're the same size? Torpedoes, they they last longer because it's longer. This one's got a little more girth to it, so you get more tobacco, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

And that's the same size as the Connecticut, right?

SPEAKER_02

Then yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. This Avo's not bad, but it's like I'm used to Maduros and stuff. It it's lasting a long time. It's a it's a good, smooth smoke. I would recommend it. I would I'll and I'll smoke it again now that I know it's a nice smooth.

SPEAKER_05

What's better? That one or what you smoked last week, the African.

SPEAKER_01

I like this one better. Yeah, I like this one much better. The Avos are the Africa was was good, but it was like just like a I don't know, it didn't, it's I think it was such a Connecticut that I and I I smoke such full bodies all the time. I can. I smoked a Georgia's Connecticut the other day just to break things up. Yeah. And I was like, that's not bad. But it's like the Africa one, just for me, it just was like I'm it's super light. Well, yeah, there really wasn't anything to it. Um, which might be good for people who aren't normal cigars, regular cigar smokers. Yeah. You know?

SPEAKER_02

I feel like whenever I smoke something lighter, like uh Connecticut, it's I feel like the the aroma is harsher. I don't know how how to describe it, but I feel like the dark SIG.

SPEAKER_01

Keep talking, Roger.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that the uh the uh damn, I'm running out of worse. Yeah, but see when you talk, so you're on the camera, yeah. You do what I did?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because every time we show the label, we did the same shit with you can never see the plaque. It's like everybody's like, what get that person?

SPEAKER_02

It's yeah, the Connecticut I feel like have uh you know a stronger aroma off of it, um, and a harsher aroma off of it, more of like a just like pure rough tobacco. Uh whereas these ones are more nuanced and deeper and you know, you get some character in them.

SPEAKER_05

So but that's why I like them better. If I mean if I'm gonna go that light, I I mean I'm not afraid to say it. I'll I'll rip a sag at any given moment. Like I'll smoke a cigarette.

SPEAKER_02

It kind of is in that same sort of sense where it's like you know, it's almost mild enough to be a you know cigarette.

SPEAKER_01

Ew, dude. Um I mean, I don't have a pack on me or anything. I'm actually I'm I'm really liking the flavor of this thing. I don't know how to describe it like you know, with hints of you know, elderberries and all that stuff. Canin, yeah. But but but it's it's it's a good smoke. It's like an i it's like in between a full and a medium. It's not it's not medium, it's not full, I don't think you know what I mean. It's not as full as the torpedo, but it's not as what's not as light as a Connecticut either.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That's right. I like on the Connecticut's I get a lot of usually like a lot of cedar, so like a lighter wood flavor off of it. Whereas these ones, I get more leather or cocoa sort of notes on it, way more. Um, and to me that's just and like espresso notes, things like that.

SPEAKER_01

You know they what they say is like a good way to taste the flavor of your cigar too is do like a French exhale, you know, like exhale, take it in, but exhale through your nose. A retrohale. It's gross. Yeah, retrohale. It's gross. I hate doing that.

SPEAKER_02

Fucking burns your nostrils.

SPEAKER_01

That was smooth. No, I yeah, but it now there's a different flavor there. You see what I'm saying? It opened up a different flavor for profile for me. I can do that.

SPEAKER_02

There's a one on like the very last end where it's all.

SPEAKER_01

Well, don't take all of it, don't take so much in to do it, just a little bit. But I just did it, and then you know, but it gives you a little bit of a little bit.

SPEAKER_05

There's a way to do it without inhaling. It's like that's what I just did. Yeah, I do retro hell.

SPEAKER_01

You don't inhale? Look.

unknown

I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_02

Try it, try it often, bro. Do it because the only thing I know is you're on the tail end too. It's gonna be hot. It's gonna be super.

SPEAKER_01

My nose is crooked, so it comes out like it streams like that of the PC coming up.

SPEAKER_02

It's like your piss stream.

SPEAKER_01

Don't inhale, let it out your nose.

unknown

I took

SPEAKER_05

Too big of a hit. So it tastes way different.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You can't see behind.

SPEAKER_06

My eyes are water.

SPEAKER_01

Now I'm like thinking of like times. Uh it reminds me of like the 80s when I was a kid and I was at my grandparents. No, dude, I was a little kid. First time blazing. No, but like that flavor or smell or something just reminded me of like when I was a kid in Manassas, Virginia, like in the 80s as a eight, nine, ten-year-old, like that that I don't know. He just had a random two week. You know how uh uh that's the best. We talked about that on the show too. Yeah. For uh for recall and memory recall is uh smell.

SPEAKER_05

All I did was just basically inhale it by accident. Yeah, I can't do it.

SPEAKER_01

I've been smoking a little bit longer than you guys. Just never thought to do that. It's yeah, it's a retrohale. Yeah, yeah. It's gross. You can't do it at the end of the cigar. No, it's it's gross. But it's but it does give you that different fl flavor, and then when you smoke the rest of the cigar, it's like, I don't know, I I like it. But I don't want to do a retrohale just to enjoy my cigar. Rusty was the one who was like, try retrohale. I was like, I know how to do it, dude. I don't I don't need to do one of those, but you'll like it, dude. I swear.

SPEAKER_02

Not the entire cigar, but you know, every once in a while to just to assess the notes. Yeah, because cigar notes you typically they that's how they assess it is in thirds. First first, third, second, third, third third.

SPEAKER_01

I will smoke it down until I'm burnt well, I don't burn my fingers because I have a little pick at home. Yeah. You know? But that's my favorite part is that last yeah it's very good.

SPEAKER_02

The final third is typically where I put the flavors that I like.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, for sure. Same. Like at the end of the second and going into the third third is like the sweet spot for me. Yeah. Because I've had cigars where I've been like, I'm not gonna like this at the beginning, and then I'm like, oh, okay, alright.

SPEAKER_01

Or like a cigar that gets better and better the longer you're smoking it. Right. Yeah. Contra okay. Contrary to that, what no, what's the word? Conversely, uh, have you had the the the cigar that gets worse as you're smoking it? And then it'll start like blowing up and pee you know, the wrapper comes off. I used to like Gurkha cigars a lot back in like 03-04. I liked Gurkha, but something happened over the years, and every Gurkha I had years later just blows up no matter what, no matter how humid, whatever. The wrapper sucks on it. Thank you. That's in my experience now. Yeah, that's in my experience. And everybody that I've like talked to at the table, the city. But I used to love Gurkhas. And some people still do, but I mean, I just to me, they just every single one, it's like it blows up.

SPEAKER_02

I told you guys before, man. Uh consistency, quality control, and consistency. So you're just trying to find whatever.

SPEAKER_01

Somebody must have they must have fired somebody that used to be really good at something and now they have somebody that's not.

SPEAKER_02

Or they have like shitty rollers that are they just kind of hired to just let's save money on these rollers.

SPEAKER_01

Let's save money and get inexpensive rollers. Yeah. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Get the Walmart greeters to roll the cigars. Great value. Great value. The great value of cigars.

SPEAKER_05

That's a crazy thing to have said about the company, but well, and and that's the thing. Somebody got me a sampler pack for Christmas, and I think I smoked like two or three of them. I didn't have any like blowouts or anything. I was like, all right, these aren't that bad, you know. Like, because I'm going into it with the mind state of all I see online is like Gurkha is trash. This is because you didn't pay for it. Exactly. Well, that's also another placebo effect of like this ain't that bad. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And these are just personal preference. I mean, tell us if we're wrong. I mean, if you if you love Gurkha, then I'm I'm not I'm not saying I think that they're terrible. I'm not saying I'll never smoke one again. I'm not even saying that for me.

SPEAKER_06

Just won't go to it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The quality is just a lot different, a lot lower than it used to be, in my opinion. But uh I stick to George's now.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, those are pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

Or if you stick throughout this long, tell us which Gurkha's good.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like tell us what we need to try. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, or the trick to keep them from blowing up. I mean, maybe there's a trick. Maybe on the inside of every label. Maybe on the inside of every label, there's like a cheat code of what you have to do to it to make it actually smoke right or something. You know?

SPEAKER_05

Um, just uh human or um bovita packs.

SPEAKER_01

Like this one's better if you if you soak it in like uh bourbon or something.

SPEAKER_05

That seems like it would be hitting hard.

SPEAKER_01

No, I know, I'm kidding. But you know they do dip a lot of the cigarettes. Well, if you're smoking a cigar.

SPEAKER_02

The extra uh the añejo extra viejo. Those are um aged in cognac casts. Oh, okay. So I it does.

SPEAKER_01

Do you ever do you ever dip your cigar in what you're drinking?

SPEAKER_02

No, I haven't. Um who said that?

SPEAKER_01

Uh wine is very good for that. Wine. Or you know, bourbon whiskey. Those are good too.

SPEAKER_02

You dip it in before you light.

SPEAKER_01

No, you just dip it every now and then as you're smoking. Oh, that seems pretty cool. Yeah, it's good.

SPEAKER_05

I could see that good with like a red wine, maybe. Uh very good. Very good.

SPEAKER_02

I'll try that with the bourbon next time.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_02

I'd do that with maybe that's what'll make a Gurkha taste. Oh keep it from blowing apart. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I think you smoked one on the show that one time that had that bloody cap or the wax cap. Yeah. It wasn't bad. Right. You said it wasn't that bad.

SPEAKER_01

What somebody had posted on the so there's all these different groups on like Facebook and stuff. Um, somebody had posted, What's the worst cigar that you've ever had? And I thought it might be.

SPEAKER_02

I've heard of that. It's it's got the pantheon. You didn't like the man of war? That's a white owl. No, it was one of them that I tried. White owls. Yeah. I really tightened. I revisited that that cigar afterwards, and then it it was like not as bad. But that first time, uh I couldn't even finish it.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you're like, I can't.

SPEAKER_02

No, it was it was it tasted horrible, it tasted rancid.

SPEAKER_06

Ew. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It left this weird like appetition.

SPEAKER_06

S backwoods that were in black licorice. They were pretty rough.

SPEAKER_01

So this guy says on this cigars club, he goes, Did I ever tell you about the worst cigar I ever smoked? So then everybody starts putting out their worst cigar I ever smoked. One guy says, Uh Drew Estate, Kentucky Fire Cured is the worst I've had in five years, lol. But then somebody else said to each their own, I I love that cigar. So you know what I mean? Like everybody has their own palette.

SPEAKER_05

But I was trying to find and see if there's someone's gonna watch this and say, You guys are tripping, man. Gurkhas are fine. I like it.

SPEAKER_01

Right, exactly, exactly. And like I said, I used to love them.

SPEAKER_06

We're not knocking people that like Gurkhas.

SPEAKER_02

We're just but nowadays, you know, whenever you try to buy something new, you're looking at the reviews, right? Yeah, right. Who's doing the reviews? Maybe if like one or two people, uh, you know, these professional reviewers and all that stuff, they they advertise a particular product that maybe they got paid to advertise for, and then they say it's really good, and everybody goes around, smokes it, and they're like, no, it's not that happens all the time in like whiskey and yeah and whatnot. So, but yeah, I think the big thing would just be the number of good reviews over like the ratio, yeah. The ratio. I mean, that's how I shop for shit on Amazon on the show.

SPEAKER_01

Me too, but I tend to go to the worst comments. Yeah, when I see the story.

SPEAKER_05

I want to see the horror stories 100%.

SPEAKER_02

I do want to see the bad reviews, just and on Amazon, it's like, oh, they took too long to ship, or you know, right.

SPEAKER_05

Like you told me nothing. Like, did you like the product or not?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, or they're like customer service was horrible, but the cigar was good, or the product was good, and you're like, okay, why did you even need to contact customer service? But something completely different, like and it's a one-star and it brings it down. But I'm I'm sure like restaurants are like that.

SPEAKER_06

That's why I say, like, yeah, you know how to wean through you know negative reviews and stuff, of course.

SPEAKER_01

You're like, okay, I'm not even reading that. Right. Asian restaurants. There's a lot of grammatical errors in that one. I'm not reading that.

SPEAKER_02

The Asian restaurants I'll look in um the perfect rating. They've said this before on other like venues, but uh the perfect rating is a three-star because the fives and the ones kind of balance out, and usually the one stars are all for customer service, which is not why you go to an Asian restaurant, and it's usually you know, they got the kids doing the math and the background and in the kitchen and all that stuff, but the food's great. And I'm like, okay, that's where I want to go. That's where I want to go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, dude, Time Suck has this funny thing where people write in and he gets so fried. It's like he gets all these reviews that so many say there's like, oh, great show, wouldn't change a thing, three out of five stars. Yep. What the so that became like a joke for Time Suck, and now it's like wouldn't change a thing, three out of five stars.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. I mean, it makes sense the three star thing. It's like, hey, if it's any higher, it's I keep you're raving about it, but if it's any lower, it's kind of probably pretty bad.

SPEAKER_01

She's trying to get that bone. Oh, she got her pizza. Oh, she got her pizza. Pizza, pizza.

SPEAKER_05

Well, gents.

SPEAKER_01

Send it on through there. Uh actually we can't, because you know I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, uh, huh? What'd I miss?

SPEAKER_01

With all that time, two hours has come. This went by fast. Not quite, not quite. Yeah, it did. So let's do some takeaways. TK.

SPEAKER_05

TK got to pop up after a day of the W-O-R-K. I don't really get to come here on school nights, so it's it's nice to come smoke a cigar after a day of work. So I enjoyed that. So thanks for that being said. Thanks for having me. Thanks for coming. Raja.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I don't know. Give us give us your favorite cigar recommendation. Yeah. I want to know stuff. I'm I'm uh more of a variety sort of guy, so let us know.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Final thought for me is uh looking forward to tonight, having my boy home. Yes. Yeah, and uh we'll be back down this week to share a cigar with my uh favorite son.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, bleep that out. All right.

SPEAKER_06

Well, had any negative feedback from my other one, will I?

SPEAKER_01

One star. That's how you find out if he's watching the show. That's awesome. I did that same thing. Me and Jerry were talking about my brother, and it turns out he's been listening. But anyway, my takeaways are yeah, tell us your your favorite, your preferences is all the things we talked about today. We talked about handguns and rifles and liquor and cigars. What are your preferences? We'd like to try things out. I mean, if it's something we haven't heard of, or maybe we're nobody at this particular table might know something about the cigar we're talking about. Tell us about it so we can talk about it on the show. Thank you for having me. This has been a great episode of the Hot Ashes Podcast. I'm Lee. TK. We'll see you guys next time. Go ahead.
